✓ No support!I can’t even log into the app, ever since their most recent major update. When I contacted support they said they were able to log in and heard nothing after that even after constantly contacting them. ✓ 2 problemsOne of the problems I have is I mainly use this app to listen to the podcasts, and I listen usually when I’m driving and when I play a podcast then I turn off my phone the video stops playing, that’s fine. But when I press play a song coming from my iTunes library starts playing. Meaning that I have to play the show with the app open, which is a problem because I don’t want to waste all my data. My second problem is I can’t look at other parts of the app while i am watching a video. In order to look at something in the app you have to close out the video and i think these problems can be easily fixed. Other than those problems I think this is a good app..Version: 2.0.0

✓ Ads, ads, ads.The bombardment of ads are literally the reason I decided to delete this app off my phone. I can take one or two before an episode but 5 consecutive ads before the video even starts and another 3-5 every 5-10 minutes is just infuriating for those unwilling to pay for First membership. ✓ Download barely worksThis app is so utterly frustrating to use. You download content, and half way through the download, of your phone goes onto standby, the download gets cancelled as the app resets to its home screen. Even if you do get a download to finish, there’s a good chance it won’t load offline. Then when you look at your download list it’s gone. Utter waste of time.Version: 3.5.0
✓ Bugs go unnoticedA bug for iPad where if the video is in landscape mode at 2x size, since this is an iPhone app, a white bar will appear with a pause symbol as yet to be fixed and was brought on by the second to last update. ✓ New updates don’t even work wellNewest update was supposed to fix the background play and the downloaded videos features but both are now broken in different ways. Videos now don’t consistently resume playing from where I left off. They start off with a black screen but audio playing. The downloads don’t actually work offline. Background play doesn’t keep your place in the video when you exit out. No button for full screen, have to unlock orientation and use it that way. No more swipe scrubbing 15 sec thru videos. Have to PIP it and then hit the 15sec buttons on the screen. Not too fast though cause then the PIP changes sizes and then you’re dealing with that. All in all the new version needs more work and really should just revert to the old app and work on this new version some more. No polishing or QA was done on it before release..Version: 3.8.2
✓ Bugs.I just don't understand. Why does the app load slower than the website when on a computer. I use the app to watch RWBY. First off, the episodes themselves aren't in the correct order. It isn't hard to have most recent episodes first and character shorts at the bottom. Also, why does it take days to register a new episode is out on mobile, but on PC, the new episodes are easily accessible. Sometimes when watching one episode, an ad pops up and after the ad you are taken to another episode without your consent. On PC, there's an option to say no to going to another episode. But not with mobile! I'm not sure if the app itself is buggy or it's the servers, but my experience would be a lot better if these things were fixed..Version: 1.3.1
✓ Does not work with any ChromecastI love the app and Im a first member and I enjoy watching on my smart TV in the living room but I don’t have one in the bedroom and when I’m trying to relax and stream it there, I just simply can not and it’s very inconvenient. Chromecast is a very nice and cheap way to stream your favorite apps without needing a smart TV and having to set up an hdmi cord to your laptop and setting it up is a lot of extra hoops to jump through to watch my favorite gaming crews. I really hope RT makes it comparable again or something..Version: 3.7.6
✓ Easy to use, but bad PlaybackIt is a very easy to use app that makes it easy to watch amazing content on the go! The major issue is that it is hard to actually load the content. Granted I do not have the best wifi, I am able to watch videos on other apps with little to not stopping. This it stops every time a few minutes in, and never loads the rest of the video. Then I have to close out the app and try to find where I left off. Plus it would be nice to have it save where you left off so if you wanted to switch from your laptop to your phone it would be easier..Version: 1.3.1
✓ Feels like an “early-access” version of their appI’ve had this app for over a year now if I’m remembering correctly, I think there has been ONE update in that time. On occasion I’ll get a glitch where it says my subscription is attached to a different Apple ID which is impossible since I only have one. If you contact RT support their only fix is for you to delete and re-download the app. You cannot comment on videos or view/post journals, which is a shame for a VIDEO platform. I’ve been getting this issue where videos won’t show up in the feed and I have to go hunt down my weekly videos. The app also doesn’t save your progress on a video if you stop watching which is a pain, the buffering is also a pain since there is no circle or button to help drag the video along. This is a huge shame since I only watch RT content on this app and will probably be the reason I end my subscription since YouTube’s app is so far above and better then this poor excuse from an otherwise great company. ✓ Probably the worst iPad support I’ve seen for a media appIt is scaled for an iPhone literally all you got to do is set the app to detect the resolution and the orientation and job done it’s scalable. It’s a simple level of app design and using a HCI thought process although I think it was probably overlooked for time constraints or something so simple yet I guess something that could be overlooked. Can zoom it up a tad but massive cuts on both sides and makes it very blurry. I wish the app had a comment section for videos and the ability to read and post journals. I have a problem with the live tweets that appear during live streams, if you click on any image shown on there you cannot back out and have to force close the app. I wish there was a way to have a history tab so you can see which videos you've already seen and pick up where you leave off. I don't know if if this is the best place to share Xbox One app reviews but that thing plays videos on shuffle i feel or in no particular order. ✓ Very different experience across devicesThe iPhone version is good, 4 stars. The iPad version is ok, it has some bugs like changing to the landscape (possibly old phone layout) after interacting with some menus or playing videos. 3 stars. The Apple TV version is a disaster. It’s missing a ton of features, my playlists and saved series being my biggest annoyance and it has several performances issues. ✓ Solid app. Weird organization.I prefer the app to the website on mobile. It’s a great home for all first content. It works great as a first user. If you don’t have first, it’s unfriendly. Other than that it’s just kinda weirdly laid out on the whole. The main channel page is a useful timeline of videos for regular watchers and works great if you keep up with content. If you are looking for a specific series the order of the series page changes based on what show is out making it an ever changing mush with old shows haphazardly pushed to the bottom. They also choose to put trailers in the same playlist as shows but not the post shows so if you want to binge watch old shows and first content it is a nightmare to go back and forth..Version: 3.6.2
✓ Broken AppThe app has numerous user interface issues, along with some features that are missing that shouldn't be. The App frequently crashes. Viewing progress on videos isn't saved. The skimming feature is horrendous and is very unreliable. My biggest grip though? I pay for a First Member ship, a double gold member ship actually ($35/month) and the site CONSTANTLY will not log you in, you'll be treated as a guest not allowing you to view content you PAY FOR. Uninstalling the app doesn't work, resetting the app doesn't work and even resetting the phone doesn't work. I'm not paying for material I can't view to a broken app. I'm cancelling my membership the next time it goes up for renewal. So much for being "first"! ✓ Used to be good, it’s “meh” at best nowThis app used to be “adequate” but it’s taken a quality dive recently. First, it is logging me out randomly MUCH more frequently now. This wouldn’t be so bad but it all stopped interfacing with password managers too. This may have been when they introduced signing on with google, but I can’t be sure. Because I understand network security I have a STRONG password so now I have to go into LastPass, look up my password, copy it to the clipboard, come back into the RT app, and paste it. I just wanted to watch funny internet videos and your app made it into this whole big thing. Second, how is there still no iPad version of the app. It has been out for how long, this is absurd!!! Yes, I can use the iPhone version on my iPad and zoom it to fill the screen, but it looks terrible. Third, and this really chafes me because it used to work. I cannot play and pause using my AirPods or my Apple Watch. When you are putting out more and more audio only podcasts (which I do enjoy) that are great to listen to when working out or cooking, the fact that I cannot quickly pause AND resume without touching my phone screen when I have other, better options is completely inexcusable..Version: 3.6.0

✓ Needs better organizationI think the app is generally laid out well. They very clearly put a thought into how they put things together, however, I feel like they overlooked the organization of some of their content on the app. When you go to look at Let’s Play content, for example, rather than being able to filter by the game they play or what not, you can only filter by year. That means if I want to watch a Minecraft let’s play, I have to scroll through tons of other videos before I can even find one. Sure, I could just search Minecraft, but not being able to filter by games the way they have everything else set up is kind of annoying. I would also love if they added a feature, maybe at least to first members, where we can have a video continue to play picture in picture mode while we, for example, look for another video to watch. Sometimes I would like to search for another video while a video is playing and it’s kind of annoying to have to exit out or preplan what I want to watch. I get that these are nitpicks, but it would really elevate the experience from a meh experience to an amazing one. ✓ Downloaded content does not workI just want to start this off saying I love RoosterTeeth and have been watching their content for years and will keep doing so, with that being said I’ve been trying to figure out ways to get downloaded content to work for months now and there just is not solution to this problem. You have to stay on the app and keep it open in order for the video to download. Once you miraculously manage to get the video downloaded it simply does not work. The video buffers every 10 or so seconds then eventually crashes all together when trying to view offline. Works while online but I need it for offline use hence the reason I download these videos. I contacted support months ago and didn’t receive a response. ✓ Decent for Videos, Bad for CommunityI was pretty active in certain aspects of the rooster teeth site, the original chat room for instance. The video player on the app is alright could use a rewind button or maybe a skip. But I wish I could write and read journals and the forums here as well. Or have another app that can do it. Because I can’t do that on my phone for one reason or another. So if you want to watch videos on here, sure get the app. But I would rather watch most videos on a screen with higher definition and hdr, I’m surprised by the differences you can notice on many shows.Version: 2.0.6

✓ Long time rooster teeth fan disappointedBeen a long time rooster teeth fan (2010/2011ish), got the app and first membership to download content to watch offline. When I download, sometimes it just doesn’t download, and when it does, it plays for 2 minutes and 8 seconds, then I get the loading wheel and video will not play. I’ve sent a tech and help report in a while ago but I’ve gotten no feed back or answers. Please, I love rooster teeth, but I just want to watch the content I pay for offline. ✓ Great company, terrible appHad the app for about 10 years. Had the same problems in it for about 10 years as well. I think it gets updated like once a year. And not in any significant way. Video and audio constantly desync. Background play is inconsistent at best. And the app tanks in performance if you use it on data instead of wifi. Also likes to randomly sign you out. Edit: the just updated the app for the first time in years and now there are new problems. Audio plays without video and there's no convenient way to rewind or fast forward unless you use the mini player. And the app no longer remembers any of your watch history..Version: 3.8.0

✓ Missing several key features.The new layout is nice, but there are some clear oversights that should be in an app whose main purpose is to play video. Firstly, why no airplay support? I normally use this app by airplaying the video to my Apple TV, since the Apple TV rooster teeth app is trash. Now, I have to mirror my whole screen in order to do so. Secondly, I'd like the ability to minimize the player so I can browse comments or the rest of the app while the video is still playing. Both of these features were on the older version of the app that have since been removed during this re-vamp. One more thing and this one is minor. Id like the ability to just swipe right to backwards thru the app. I.E.: from the main screen, tapping achievement Hunter to see the list of just their vids, and then swiping back to the main screen instead of tapping the tiny arrow in the corner. This feature has been built into core iOS for many versions, I'm not sure why you would not include it in your app..Version: 2.0.4
✓ Offline Downloads are FrustratingI gave this app 2 stars because although the app works well online, the downloading of content is awful. There is no background downloading available, and when I am able to keep the app open for the half hour it takes to download a video, only about 25% of the video is downloaded eve though the app says it is complete. I have tried re-downloading the same video multiple times to no avail. I have also put my phone in airplane mode once it is downloaded (a suggestion I saw on Reddit) and that used to work, but not anymore. But, lately, whenever I download a video to watch (mainly Achievement Hunter) the video freezes (but “continues”, with video and audio completely stopped) and if I refresh my download is mysteriously DELETED. You seriously don’t understand how INFURIATING it is to try to use an exclusive feature and not have it worked AS ADVERTISED. ✓ Love RT, but needs work.I’m not entirely sure what’s going on with RT’s web department. I’ve been hearing complaints about the store and we all know the site as is just doesn’t live up to being part of a video subscription service. But the app has it’s problems too, from not being able to see or post comments, to not being able to like videos, and especially the lack of updates. Why was SP7’s feed added but the Creatures’ defunct feed with only 6 vids is still there? It’s not on the main site, so why is still on the app? And the store just seems broken to me, every time I open the menu to view the “My Account” options, it makes me sign in to my account, (even though you have to sign into a first account to even access this app, what?!). And then when I log in it brings me to a web browser version of the site, (still within the app) that I have to back out to get back to the store, and EVEN THEN you have to open the menu and tap “sign in” again, which reloads the page and allows you to see the account options. Oh, and the checkout hasn’t worked for at least a month. It just goes to a blank screen and refreshing does nothing. ✓ New Version has some bugsJust got the update on the app and was excited to start my First membership. But watching on the app has been difficult so far. The only thing I’ve watched using the app since the new update was the spring break live stream. Other than that, all of the videos have no audio. Whenever I try to watch a video there’s no sound and I’ve played around to figure out what’s going on. The live stream had audio though which makes me confused. Also, every time I try to add something to my watchlist, it says there’s an error and to try again later. Still not working. Really hoping someone at Rooster Teeth sees this and addresses those bugs or I will not be continuing the First membership. Don’t see a point in using the app if none of my videos have audio. ✓ Is it just me or does this app buffer way too much?I have decent WiFi and my cell service is good so why does every video have to buffer dozens of times for minutes at a time? ✓ Needs to be betterThis app is good for on-the-go viewing. However, I NEVER watch Rooster Teeth content on my phone, usually due to the average length of the content. I use this app as a glorified queue manager. I’ll add videos to my watch list, then go to safari on my iPad and watch the videos. There NEEDS to be an iPad version of this app. I really can’t believe there isn’t one. Also, more detailed playback controls would be nice. Trying to scrub with the current system makes it hard to find specific points where you might have left off, especially in a 1 hour+ video (let alone a 3 hour D&D video)..Version: 1.3.1
✓ I love the content, but have some problems with the app itselfLet me start off by saying that I love rooster teeth and appreciate the content a lot. Sadly the app has a few downfalls. Occasionally a video will not load after I have paused it and gone to another app, and the only way to fix it is to load another video and then go back to the one that I was watching, which also doesn't save where I was on the video, but restarts from the beginning and that leads to my next issue. It is very hard to pinpoint where I want to be on the phone and I would greatly appreciate if two buttons were added on either side of the pause button to skip 10 or 30 seconds backwards and forwards. ✓ Just use your browserThe app is super clunky, it is not user friendly at all and it’s feature set is super lacking. My account is their paid tier aka “First” It doesn’t allow for Picture in Picture play in app It doesn’t allow for background audio when switching between apps It doesn’t allow for Picture in Picture play outside of the app Yet if you go onto the website (I use google chrome personally) you have access to all this, without even having a rooster teeth account. ✓ Fix scrub bar please!I use this app every day and for all intents and purposes, it works great! But if there are any deva out there reading these comments, please consider changing the scrub bar for videos. It's so hard to grab because it's at the literal very bottom of the video and it goes from the far left to the far right of the screen so you can't actually go all the way back to the beginning or the end of the video without having fingers the size of like needles! ✓ Lacklustre 2.0 RereleaseFirst off I would like to say that the app in its current state has so much potential to be absolutely amazing but it’s missing a huge number of key features that would really seal the deal on 2.0 being better than 1.0 was. I never really used 1.0 because I installed it and it was horrible to even try to use but from what I have read it looks like you removed features from 1.0 to 2.0 which just doesn’t make any sense to me. It looks like you removed both AirPlay support as well as video minimising which neither really make all that much sense to me personally. AirPlay, while not as dire, is a really nice feature that seems like it would only stand to make 2.0 a stunning app. The minimising video is a bit more concerning as that allows users to spend more time curating their upcoming watches. As for features that seem to be no brainers that are missing are things like “double tap to seek”, the ability to swipe between pages, an easy to access watchlist, and a page for new videos from only your favourited series’ are just a few that come to the top of my head. I appreciate the attempt at making your mobile app better but it seems more like a swing and a miss in my personal opinion..Version: 2.1.2
✓ New Doesn’t Mean BetterThe new app looks beautiful and the video player is a dream, I won’t lie, but does this app ever take a nose dive in the UI/UX department. If you have any plus size iPhone this app is absolute hell, you have to press the back arrow to go back a menu, whereas most apps have you just swipe right from the left side of the screen for the same functionality. In addition to this, the video player while more stable lost the feature of browsing other content while the video is playing. The youtube app is a good example of this function, and the Rooster Teeth app before this had this function. Reachability is now a requirement to use this app in any practical way and while I can’t say how well this app works on iPhone X, I can say that considering how miserable the UX is on the plus line of iPhones, I can’t imagine how the experience is on iPhone X. Rooster Teeth, I say all this out of love, this app can be so much better and I want to see it improve. Please make it better for UI/UX..Version: 2.0.0
