Report situationMy daughter wanted to test the 7-day trial, but she lost interest after 5 days, therefore I cancelled it, but two days later I received a notification that $183.74 had been taken from my account. I attempted to report the situation so as to obtain a refund, but I haven’t yet receive a response until now..Version: 2.57.0

THE PRICEIt’s an amazing app but the prices are WAY to high..Version: 2.51.0

The fundamental problem for meSo this is an app with a great user interface. I love that you can see human fingers at the top of the screen as you play. I’d prefer if, as well, there was finger numbering on the sheet music - much easier than stopping and working out where the screen hands are. However, the problem for me is the arrangements. You are not being taught the piano part of a song. You are being taught the piano cocktail lounge version of the song. Take “Don’t Stop Me Now”. Fantastic piano rock. This app won’t teach you that. It throws the piano part away, and turns Mercury’s great vocals into piano notes, which sounds cocktail lounge awful. There is a place for that, obviously. But at least also have it that we can also learn the original piano parts of great songs that have great piano parts..Version: 2.45.1

AnnoyingI downloaded this app because I wanted to learn songs but almost every song is premium and you have to pay for it. At this point I would just go on YouTube because they have way more options.Version: 2.51.0

Variety?I feel like the amount you pay doesn’t match up to variety ?.Version: 2.55.0

I’m somewhere in the middle about this appPersonally I feel like I was miss-lead by the information that was available to me when I was searching for an app to learn to play piano! On one hand I love the interface, I love the fact that flow-key waits for you, and that it moves along as you play! On the other hand, I am almost through all of the courses, and I barely know anymore than I knew prior to paying for this app, their customer service was wonderful before my payment actually was deposited, Following my free trial, I think the concept of flowkey is wonderful, but are we really learning how to play? I don’t think so, we’re just mimicking two hands we see above us, at least that’s how I feel! I could go on anon but those are my two biggest gripes. Plus they mentioned that there’s thousands of songs, and I can barely find time that I enjoy And maybe two that I can actually make my way through playing, so I’m disappointed, not totally disappointed, but enough that I would not renew my membership! Hope this helps someone who might want to learn to play, And is confused on which app to go with!.Version: 2.10.2

Good and not so goodLove the variety of tunes as an adult returning to piano playing, certainly more confidence boosting to play tunes that I can recognise and that aren’t out of a children’s book. It frequently doesn’t pick up when I have played a note however, which really ruins the tune and experience. I have actually returned to the book method and I think my playing has improved as a result of the book. So now I use the app for a little play and muck about as opposed to using it to learn to play the piano. I don’t think I will be renewing my subscription..Version: 2.23.2

It’s okWhen I first payed for my yearly subscription, I thought that this app would be fun and help me a lot as a beginner. I was wrong. I feel like they cram to much information into the screen when you choose to play a song. For example, they show someone’s hands and the notes at the same time, which in my opinion, for beginners like myself is an overwhelming feature. I like to see the whole sheet of music and work at the kinks but the thing just keeps on going and going, which makes me feel rushed. I payed $110 for this and it’s so far been a waste of money. One thing that might be helpful to update this app is (if you pay money for this) to be able to print out the music sheet or have an option to just see the music or hands..Version: 2.36.0

Boo premiumIf you're going to give us a thing full of lessons LET US FINISH IT.Version: 2.21.1

Good app but some flawsIt’s good app however there are some flaws which are frustrating. I got three months free with my keyboard which is good. I am doing the beginners course. When you learn a song to play with two hands and you play 2 chords together it doesn’t recognise both of them and you have to keep pressing the keys numerous times. It also skips to the middle of the song and I keep having to play it back. Its good for the three month trial but doubt I will be subscribing to it if the don’t fix this bug..Version: 2.23.3

It doesn’t listen to your piano properlyI was stuck on the same note for five minutes hitting the key over and over again, the apps listening capabilities are useless.Version: 2.23.1

Wish it worked rightI cannot use this app as it plays no sound when i use my midi keyboard. It connects just fine, i hear the lesson voice and same keys and chord sounds, but then on my turn to press it waits, i press the right key it moves onto the next in silence! Play me the sound back!! I cannot learn in silence and without feedback when pressing the keys. As u say i am using a midi keyboard that pluds direct via cable into the iphone, it cannot be hard to play a sound when i press a key. Other apps do it..Version: 2.10.1

Not what I had hoped forSo let me begin by saying I have been taking piano lesson from a teacher for 3yrs and this app is not something I would consider dumping my teacher for. The scrolling songs are interesting but to difficult to keep up with to learn the songs. If you are new to piano you will probably not catch on. I can read notes and play piano pretty well and I had trouble. The catch for me was they don’t allow you to download the songs and print them out. You have to go to another website and pay 6 dollars per song more if you want an actual copy of the song. A hard copy of the songs is important for learning the song so you can go at your own speed and not the speed the site sets for you. Even at a 50% speed can be to fast for a beginner. This is not a site I will continue to use. I will look elsewhere..Version: 2.14.0

Change automatically after loadedAs loaded for 7 days trial, didn’t ask customer which option price as approved. Charged top price premium $195.99. This app is not enough explanation. How can we refund the payment? Thanks.Version: 2.22.1

Inneffective teaching style and lack of song choicesYou can get more songs, if you buy premium. I mean, like you can’t even play bad guy! (Unless you buy premium) And I was thinking, this would help me complete La Campanella, but nope, that’s also premium only. The teaching style is also ineffective, it doesn’t teach beginners the notes, and it is hard to learn the song unless you already knew it. Do not even get premium. Don’t even download it! Also they don’t have the full set of Hungarian Rhapsodies. only No.2.Version: 2.23.3

Overall a decent appI like Flowkey; it’s expensive but good. It has a good function called Wait mode, which teaches you the piece once you hit the correct note. The main problem is that it does not recognise all the notes that I play so I have to bang the ‘F’ key as loud as possible (and other notes, especially when the left and right hand are play simultaneously) multiple times before the sound is recognised, which ruins the flow of the piece. Weirdly it doesn’t have that problem with most notes..Version: 2.23.1

It sucksI already know how to play ode to joy but it’s tabbed out differently than I learned it and it won’t let me skip.Version: 2.15.0

Has potentialThis app has so much potential, but when you start the selection of songs you get is so small. And with the songs that you can play without premium you only have beginner or intermediate, now I’m not mad at the creators they have to get money somehow but I think they could have added more songs for the people who don’t want to use premium or can’t get premium..Version: 2.37.1

There’s a catch! The billing plans are clearly set up to try and rip off people who sign up and don’t stick to their practicing which puts a sour feeling in the mouth before you even start. There are also way to many prompts to tap start. Whenever I’m ready with my fingers in the right place I have to move them again to press another ‘start’ button. I won’t be going further than the free trial. All that aside the actual follow along playing is quite nice..Version: 2.23.1

Needs count in. No free trial ripoffGreat app but needs count in and option for a metronome on the courses. Also reduce the amount of pop-ups and let them disappear when you start playing notes. Also fix having to move orientations of screen between courses and menus. Now am disappointed. I signed on for the free trial plus ONE MONTH SUBSCRIPTION thinking to cancel and actually go to 3 months. and there was no free trial it just went straight through.Version: 2.29.1

Very poor note recognitionI've cancelled this within the first few hours. Terrible response to iPad mic, simply doesn't recognise the notes and therefore the exercise hangs despite being played clearly, with the iPad on the top of the piano, music stand. Casio Privia at A=440. Also, perhaps a niggle but why are the count ins not consistent? Sometimes there are 4 Beats in, sometimes just 3, and on the quarter note rest exercise in Chapter 1 there are 5. This will be extremely confusing for beginners. And as for the slowed down exercises. Whose idea was it to time stretch the audio file? It's an awful sound! All the artefacts of poor time-stretching make listening to it hard on the ears. Either pay for a far better algorithm or actually play it half speed, please! So far then, some good points, and it works far better via midi, which I think you ought to acknowledge and recommend to buyers. Your poor excuse (and stock automated response to the issue when raised by others) about different tunings doesn't stand up given the huge advances in pitch recognition software from Antares, Melodyne and others. We'll see how well it copes with more polyphony later...going to give it until the end of my paid month and take stock then. Playground has been recommended by some, but dissed by others so we'll see..Version: 2.20.2

EI couldn't play it 😿.Version: 2.24.0

DisappointedI installed the app to keep it a trial version . How the hell did it charge me for the whole year! This payment parameter that’s setup from the app developer just isn’t right!!.Version: 2.60.0

Great, but…Fantastic app, really helping but boy does it cost.Version: 2.34.0

Can’t view far enough aheadI bought a months subscription to see how this was. I am around a grade 8 player, but wanted to get a bit of inspiration and try put some new pieces, now that most shops don’t hold much music in stock. I thought there was a good selection, but I found it particularly annoying that I couldn’t view more than 4 or 5 bars at a time. Sometimes in a piece you need to see the whole phrase to be able to anticipate what’s coming up. It would be great if there was an option to see a page of music for the more accomplished pieces without the hands..Version: 2.14.0

Better ways of learning out thereI tried Flowkey for a month and didn’t continue the subscription because.... You can’t print out the score to practice the song or play the song without the Flowkey app. There are other online learning courses that allow this. There is no metronome, I queried the support team on this and after a few days I got the reply that this isn’t planned as the songs are recorded without a metronome. Again most other online systems have a metronome to enable you to build up speed while learning the songs. The focus is in learning songs. There is some content on the basics but this is very dry. I have found the other online systems are focused on teaching piano and teaching songs. The system is very dry, you are reading off a screen. I found this isn’t great motivation. The online learning systems with videos from real people is a better way of learning for me. On the positive side, the Bluetooth Technoloy integration is good. This is better than most online systems. Their range of songs and genres is wider than the other online learning platform I decide to stick with. If they allow the score to be printed I would try this again for learning songs after I have learnt piano..Version: 2.28.1

Good idea, terrible UXFor such an expensive app, their design is rather poor. Selecting a large chunk of a song takes forever, and then one accidental double tap erases everything without any warning or confirmation it’s been like this for ages. Another great example is how this app auto-plays songs when you click them in the main menu (their latest redesign made it worse). The world realised it was a bad idea for non-player apps to auto start playing sounds ages ago, but the news haven’t arrived to these guys yet. It’s ok for beginners, but under no circumstances should you buy a long term subscription (like yours truly unwisely did recently): learning a piano is a frustrating enough experience without these problems. Learn the basics and switch to normal sheet music, it’s less frustrating..Version: 2.37.1

InconsistentLower notes not always or immediately recognized by the app when playing on the piano.Version: 2.13.1

Ok, been working with it about two weeks nowIt does a lot but doesn’t really do what I want and need. First of all, it only works with an internet connection so if you expect to take this to a studio somewhere and use it off line, you will be disappointed. Secondly, the courses are good, but uneven with no directed progression. There is no way to gauge your current skill level and start from there. Third, I wish there was an option to show the whole score of a piece. You either practice it their way or not at all. The keyboard showing the notes is fine, but it would be nice to have more suggested fingering notations on the musical score. And an option to name the notes on the score, rather than having to divert your attention to the keyboard above the score. Fourth. I am really only interested in classical. There should be significantly more easy to intermediate pieces in the program. Most of this stuff is public domain, so why not? I wanted to make a commitment so I bought a years worth. Now I am regretting it. I didn't spend enough time during the Trail period figuring out that it wasn’t really for me..Version: 2.19.0

Not many songs I knowI thought I would get a ton of songs for the price I paid. But being a beginner - I’m only eligible for a small amount and majority of them I’ve never heard of or want to learn to play. I wish I could have seen their selection before paying close to $100 for the year.Version: 2.23.2

Already paid, cannot restore purchase on iPadWell this is a great app to use with a major flaw. I’ve purchased premium but cannot restore the purchase on my iPad. It seems like you can only use it on the device you purchased on. This is ludicrous and completely against the Apple way of sharing apps across devices and even with family sharing. It’s a shame because it works well on the phone, but I want to use it on my iPad. I’ve contacted support, but it’s a 2day turn around!! Really? In this day an age. Suffice to say either the developer resolves this ridiculous issue quickly or I won’t be subscribing any further..Version: 2.26.1

Misleading prices watch outThis company missed lead me to think that I was paying a discounted price for the holidays. They discounted it from 999 and then charge you American. Which ends up probably being about the same price.Version: 2.13.1

Worst ever app I have use. Can’t event recognize the piano soundThanks for the charge.Version: 2.14.1

Not listeningHas great potential. App is not able to progress through the notes when in learning mode listening through microphone. The follow along feature gets stuck sporadically as you play. I’ve noticed particularly gets stuck on B then I have to flick the notes to move to the next note. This happens throughout the song making learning this way frustrating when all you want to do is concentrate on where the next note is. Will unfortunately have to cancel within 7 day trial and try find an app that works.Version: 2.24.0

Accidental purchase can’t get a refundI accidentally purchased the one year plan and it won’t let me get a refund. I’m pretty upset about this, especially since this app won’t let you actually download sheet music. The videos are nice but make things confusing when you’re actually trying to play pieces and learn how to read notes. I definitely would not recommend this app, and am upset that i can’t even contact anyone to speak about getting a refund for my situation..Version: 2.24.0

So expensiveThis is the most expensive piano app I've seen, no thanks!.Version: 2.53.0

Doesn’t recognize the keys when I pressThis app frustrates me so much. I bought 6 months because at first I thought it was good. I’ve been trying to each myself piano (don’t know how to read music or anything). After using it for 3 months now it honestly frustrates me so much to the point I don’t even want to practice. The app doesn’t recognize the keys when I press it half the time. And for the lessons, it doesn’t teach you very much about reading sheet music and how to memorize the keys..Version: 2.64.0

Frustrating! It’s a good way to learn, however not writing the finger numbers on notes when hand position changes.. so you have to look at the person’s hands to figure it out. Would be much simpler to have the numbers notated. Also really need an option to have the sheet music static, and without the app having to hear the keys. Often it’s not hearing the keys, so I have to stop and pound the same notes a few times. Totally ruining any flow! Also several songs don’t have the song lyrics which is also frustrating. When subscribing, it signs you up for the whole year, not month by month which was not clear..Version: 2.29.1

Good app in theoryIn theory I like how the lessons are set up to get you from no knowledge whatsoever to playing music right away while giving you tips on things like proper posture and hand placement that won’t seem relevant right away but will set you up for success later on. There is an extensive song library as well and ways to personalize it with things you are interested in. My biggest hang up was with note recognition. Trying to learn on an acoustic piano I tried all the tips to try to improve my iPads note recognition but nothing really worked, and it was highly discouraging to have to quit, not because I didn’t enjoy the lessons, but because I couldn’t continue on in them because no matter what I did it couldn’t recognize I was playing the note it wanted. There seems to be a lot of solutions for keyboards which is nice, and makes sense because they are electric and could potentially digitally communicate but no help to me on an upright. Maybe one day I will learn to play the piano a different way..Version: 2.49.0

Hate it!!Gjj.Version: 2.25.0

Problem with the 7 day trialThe app stated that there was a 7 day free trial and then i will have to pay for the full year subscription. However, after i clicked the 7 day free trial, it automatically charged me the full price on the one year without give me the 7 day trial. Haven’t heard back from the in app customer service and also submitted a request for refund with apple. I hope you guys can fix this problem so others won’t get this trouble. Thanks.Version: 2.24.0

Could be betterThis review is coming from a musician. I’ve played guitar and drums for years and always wanted to play piano. I took an intro course in college and haven’t played piano since. This app is good for beginners. I started off having to skip plenty of the lessons because it’s stuff I already knew and didn’t realize. If you’re playing on a real piano or a keyboard with less than 88 keys it could be a problem. The app requires you to be in the same octave and won’t move along unless you hit the correct notes. Even hitting the correct notes but a different octave won’t allow you to proceed. I have a 88 key Bluetooth enabled keyboard which makes this app much smoother. My complaint are with the songs. Almost every song I picked out also incorporates the vocal melody. Now this is nice, but if I’m trying to learn “Let it Be” I want to play it like Paul McCartney and sing along. Not be forced to play the vocal melody making it nowhere near what he’s actually playing. Maybe create a “master” mode or something where it’s the instrumental how the artist would play it and sing on top. The subscription price for this app could get expensive. But I looked at it like 20 a month and I get all the piano lessons my time allows. That’s worth it for me and definitely got the rust off my hands. I’ll continue to learn the beginnings of songs on pro before the vocal melody kicks in and improvise the rest..Version: 2.26.1

DisappointingThe app itself is very good for what it says it will do. It guides you step by step through the learning process. I am however extremely disappointed to find out that I have been charged over £100 for the use of the app. I was more than happy to pay monthly for it’s usage as this is what is implied when you are shown the billing page. What I found however was that I have been charged this lump sump all in one go! It’s almost as if this is the default option. Be warned that if you use this app for longer than 7 days and do not change your billing option then you will be hit with a hefty bill. Very disappointed with the lack of clarity around the payment. Otherwise it was a good app..Version: 2.23.3

The D does not workWhen i press D it said try again and its not just D its D,C,E and f.Version: 2.40.1

Too expensiveI would rather pay 1$ per song than 27$ a month. It’s waaaay too pricy but the way they teach is amazing. I wanted to learn more about music theory too but I couldn’t because everything is locked. Quite disappointed..Version: 2.11.0

Love/HateI have a love/hate relationship with this app. I love the interface. I hate, seriously hate, the music selection. For the beginner and intermediate levels, you are only given snippets of songs. Only the advanced and pro levels are given the full songs. I even emailed them about this and they gave me a ridiculous answer about how playing snippets of easy songs will enable you to play the full advanced version. Right. Further, there are beginner and intermediate snippets that have no advanced version. I really feel like this is bait and switch. Look at our great music selection - btw, you only get a few lines. Ranting aside, I do love the interface and keep coming back to it. I just have to ignore all the beginning and intermediate versions. Which works for me, but totally stinks for beginner and intermediate students..Version: 2.8.1

Forced microphoneI got the 7 day free trial. I connected my iPad to my keyboard via MIDI. I clicked enable MIDI when I was in a song but with the courses it says I need to enable microphone but I want to use MIDI and not have my privacy breached. I don’t get why I’m forced to use microphone with the courses. I tried all the workarounds but nothing worked. I ended up deleting the app and unsubscribing. It made me very angry I was legit going to throw my iPad at the wall..Version: 2.46.0

Dishonest AppThis seems like a scam-y app. They charged me before my free seven day trial finished. I started a 7 day trial and the next day they charged me for the month. Pretty dishonest..Version: 2.43.0

Good but really annoying that the music score can’t be printedIt’s a really good app that I enjoyed using at the beginning. I learnt piano when I was a child so I was not a complete novice but I needed a serious refreshment. The way the app works is great even though the micro functionality doesn’t always work very well which can be a bit annoying. But what I find the most annoying is that I can’t print the music sheet. I’ve always been someone who likes to write on my sheets, and visualize the whole page when I’m playing and not being able to do it is really annoying. The annual price of the app is high enough that we should at least have access to the library and be able to print the sheets. I don’t think I’ll renew my subscription next year because of that..Version: 2.31.1

Could be much betterThe wait mode functionality on this app is quite frustrating. This is the mode in which the song waits until you hit the right key before moving on. Without MIDI functionality on your keyboard you are stuck with it trying to recognize sounds through your phone mic. There is no keyboard calibration setup or anything to let the app know what sound corresponds to what key on your keyboard. So if your piano is slightly out of tune or if you have a cheap electronic keyboard like myself, it has a hard time picking up certain notes. This severely disrupts my flow during a song when I have to repeat a key until it finally recognizes, or it randomly skips notes sometimes. As a beginner i find the sections that are hardest to learn are the ones were I have to repeat notes because it cannot properly recognize them. Also if I search a song that I would like to play, i can’t add it to “my songs” to save it for later. It appears that you can only save songs to your list if you so happen to come across it going through the songs tab and clicking through categories and scrolling forever trying to find the song you want to save. Very inconvenient. Much to be desired after paying $100 for this app.....Version: 2.14.1

Enjoyable, but bugs to iron outI bought my daughter a digital piano so she can practice more at home, as the keyboard is no good now she’s on Grade 3. I thought I’d try out the free subscription for Flowkey, and after one session, I was hooked, and practice everyday! I’m a complete beginner and can play some simple songs already. I gave it a 3 star rating, as often, when playing chords (and single notes too at times), they are not recognised, and I have to play them over and over to progress through the tutorial piece. This isn’t so bad with single notes, but with the chords, I have to play each note individually, which rather defeats the object!.Version: 2.10.2

Premium does not unlock after payingReally loved the functionality but after deciding to pay $27.95 USD/month to subscribe, the app will not unlock premium version. Have messaged for help but am on day 2 of not being able to use what I have paid for. Support takes forever to answer any question. Just an FYI before you sub..Version: 2.14.1

High keysGood app. So far. I have noticed a bug, the high keys such as G and higher on the right side of the second middle C are not recognised and so it will not let me go further until I hit other buttons even though I hit the right key notes. I hit other buttons so as to confuse the app. Or I sometimes have to repeatedly smash the key note until it recognises it. So I can continue playing the songs. Hesitant on buying it as it will be the same with premium. If it can’t recognise the right key note, you can’t progress which would be a waste of money plus the frustration in trying to get past the right key notes. Five star if the above issue is fixed and then I would try the premium..Version: 2.27.0

Poorly supportedFlowkey claim that the app supports Bluetooth MIDI, but it doesn’t. Or at least, neither of the two BT LE MIDI keyboards I’ve tried work or work properly. Flowkey’s response? Take your pick from (a) it does work, (b) it sometimes works or (c) it’s only qualified to work with one specific Bluetooth adapter. Irrespective, they’ve showed no interest in either fixing the app or clarifying its description to make clear what does and doesn’t work. Otherwise the app is useful, if ultimately rather inflexible. You can’t look at any of the scores except in the app’s screen scrolling format, nor can you annotate the pieces you’re working on. And the number of pieces arranged for all learning grades is often quite small - e.g. in the Jazz genre most are graded as suitable for advanced players. So — an interesting novelty, but one that doesn’t in my view justify the high subscription prices (I say this as a subscriber) especially given the poor standard of product support..Version: 2.34.0

Useless without “premium”I have been searching everywhere for an app or book that can teach me to play piano but I was not successfully. This app sounded like a good idea... I learned to play a simple song: ode to joy. When the app let me roam free around to pick another song, I soon figured out that as I had no subscription, I could only play 8 songs! When I opened up a “beginner “ song... I was shocked... the song I found listed under beginner was extremely difficult. As I was attempting to learn it, the app suggested that I take a course on learning the piano. I found many lessons... it was EXACTLY what I had been searching for... but APPARENTLY it was too good to be true... I tapped on the first lesson of how to read sheet music. I felt fine and relieved to take the first lesson... but when I finished it, the app told me I needed a “premium” plan... I was fuming! As realization struck me, I found out that the long winding list of lesson types with even more lessons within them required (once again !) a “premium plan” So to put it simply, the functionality of LEARNING how to actually USE the piano is not very possible on this app without a subscription of $20 a month!!!!!!!!!.Version: 2.8.1

Doesn’t workI purchased the annual subscription and it doesn’t work. Total waste of money. I’m canceling the subscription..Version: 2.22.2

Only goes so farAt first, I really enjoyed this app. I learned a few song parts and techniques on my digital piano, which I’m quite happy about. Unfortunately, I’m unable to progress with the app anymore. During the courses there are sections where it asks you to play along as it displays both the musical notes, as well as a video of actual hands on the keyboard (to show you which keys to press.) It moves forward AS it hears you play the notes. So helpful!! Until suddenly it won’t pick up the notes I’m playing. I can’t get through two bars without it getting stuck. There’s even a mic sensor that shows that it’s picking up the sound, and I’m playing with the volume all the way up so I’m not sure what the problem is. Not only that, when I sent a message and asked if there was a solution I was told to buy more cords and stuff. Thank goodness the app was a free trial or I would’ve wasted my money..Version: 2.41.0

Too much lag to be usefulToo much lag to be useful and even though we let them know immediately, we couldn’t get a refund. A very expensive mistake for us..Version: 2.56.0

Could be so much betterI love this app and hate it at the same time. What I love about it are the selection of songs and some of the basic learning tools. I also love being able to see the fingering as the song is played in the upper half of the UI. Here's what I hate: I hate the fact that you cannot ever see more than four measures at a time. (At least on my 10.5 iPad Pro). I also hate that if you pause to look at the notes, you get the overlay which makes the notes hard to see. I want to be able to see more measures or at least give me a page view of the music. The UI is also inconsistently presented. On some songs, there are fingering numbers, and on other songs they are not there at all. Also, there are only two speeds - super slow or super fast with nothing in between. This app has HUGE potential, but because of its shortcomings, I most likely will not re-up my subscription..Version: 2.23.2

Songs disappearI have been enjoying the app for nearly a year despite the fact that I have repeat some notes several times frequently as the app won’t recognise them via the iPad microphone. Recently though the songs on my favourites list started to disappear without even the app upgrade. It is very frustrating and my child was very upset when one of his favourites vanished. Will have to consider my options before the subscription is up for renewal. Shame.Version: 2.66.0

Free subscription not easily cancellableI canceled subscription before free period was up but it was not really canceled. I was charged 201$! Asked for a refund..Version: 2.24.0

2 STARI give this two stars because it’s good at teaching you, but it usually hears wrong and also in some of the songs they move their hands and it doesn’t show that they do. Also, a lot of the songs are just popular music. I searched for a song and then it said it couldn’t find it. And a lot of the songs are membership, which is not cool. Please change this. Also they don’t just have to be KiD aPpRopRiAtE. There might be an adult playing, and just finding kid appropriate songs??? They would not be happy. EXTRA: (Probably not helpful for people reading this unless you are the creator) If you can may you please add accounts? I would also like to change the background. Something that would be FUN to add is a quiz on songs. Thank you for reading this, I hope it was helpful ฅ^ ༎ຶ ﻌ ༎ຶ ^ฅ.Version: 2.34.0

I like the support.I like the support I get when using and needing help with flow key but what I wish I could do is practise the course pieces without the note recognition and also with a static music sheet instead of always having a moving timeline. Maybe this is something they could look into. If it was just about support and learning I’d give this 5 stars but I really feel I need the option above to practise more and with ease. My whole family feels the same way about it..Version: 2.16.0

Confusing subscription optionsOverall, I’m satisfied with the app features and so I was willing to subscribe. Then, I just noticed that $200 were purchased automatically from the app for the yearly subscription. However, when I looked back the subscription options, you guys had ranges of yearly subscription fees from $119 to $200 and they were all ‘flowkey premium’. What are the differences between those subscriptions? If there is not much difference I would much prefer pay $119 per year rather than $200. Except this confusion, I’m happy with your app but I think you need more clear description on each subscription options to reduce confusion..Version: 2.28.1

Not happy at all!!I just downloaded your app and was suggested to have a 7 day free trial premium and after that 7 days I would pay £109 for a year. I tried out the app for about 3 minutes and decided that I did not want to use it. I then cancelled my subscription and checked that my bank account had not been charged with anything. But unfortunately you have charged me £109, this is unacceptable as I was told that it was a 7 day trial with no payment. I would like my money back please because this is completely out of order. Edit: Thankyou for getting back to me. I have now got my money back..Version: 2.20.3

Learning Piano to do a different instruments(s)I’m not going to be using this app at all, learning several instruments is challenge especially when you’re blood runs everything Music and your able to play and sing however the mind blowing issues with trying to practice if you have a little time to kill, etc is that you charge for anything you can have and want free online and it’s of course legal. I just don’t know what makes people want to pay for way better tools and any song you ever want to play really if you have the skill. I would never buy anything especially if you want completely different learning easy tools and music I love to play it doesn’t have to be difficult to play with at least an hour or so of practice and I was playing the hits immediately even was quickly able to play sing and record a very great song my mom wanted me to play and sing it was out recorded the next afternoon. Try is the best thing to do to help people who want to pay..Version: 2.26.1

Insanely ExpensiveFar too expensive for what you get..Version: 2.55.0

Diminishing returns… part 2Before is my review from a while ago. Absolutely nothing has changed! Actually that’s not true. As someone else pointed out, they’ve (inexplicably!) removed the ability to search songs by difficulty… I won’t continue my subscription after the present period. Original review: I’ve been a subscriber for a couple of years and have found the app helpful. However, the instructional element is paltry, offers no integration with the “play-along” pieces, and shows no signs of being supplemented meaningfully. Perhaps this is because it’s supposed to be used with a teacher, but I can’t afford one so no help to me. What I’d like to see, then, I’d a serious rethink/redesign that incorporates theory and lessons alongside practice pieces. If someone else comes up with that (or already has done!) then count me in (and out, respectively)!.Version: 2.63.0

Too slowThe lessons don’t hear the piano half the time. It sucks the fun out of it..Version: 2.63.0

FlowkeyThe lessons are very clear and well thought out. The main problem is that the programme does not pick up the notes you play all the time so you end up having to play about every fourth note a couple of times to get it to register. This is fairly annoying. It also cannot cope if you play anything other than very slowly. It would help if the practice sections just had the tune played at normal speed, with sound so you can play along until you get it right. Playing mega slowly and repeating notes several times is just plain annoying..Version: 2.4.1

Disappointed, has potential but problematic to useI was excited about this app, and particularly love the variety of music available. I’m about grade 5 standard so there are lots of tunes to tackle which I love. However, in common with other reviewers, I find it is often slow to recognise notes played meaning you have to stop and replay notes, sometimes several times, in order to progress. I also agree that it’s frustrating not to be able to see ahead further in the music. Overall, the whole stop start nature of using it has put me off. I have a free trial at present, but cannot see myself wanting to pay to subscribe unless it is improved in functionality..Version: 2.14.0

Bad Audio RecognitionI purchased a 1 month membership for Flowkey, and at this point I don’t feel it was worth it due to the poor note recognition/clumsy software. I get false reads/misreads fairly regularly, so whether it be I’m jamming the correct key until it hears me and I can proceed with the song, or it proceeds through a part I’m playing incorrectly (or not at all), it’s always frustrating and I don’t feel like I’m getting much out of it. This is particularly prevalent in two-handed learning. I know it’s a software issue because Yousician, which does virtually the same thing, proceeds almost flawlessly every time under identical circumstances. This is probably because it has an actual calibration menu, unlike Flowkey—maybe Flowkey expects you to be playing on an actual piano, whereas I’m on a smaller electric keyboard. It’s too bad, as Flowkey does feel like the more formally instructive option, but I must say I’m disappointed..Version: 2.14.1

Trying to delete this app from my purchasesThis app was loaded as a free app, but once loaded I saw that there will be charges after one week, that I did not approve. I could not delete it from my purchases, and would like it removed. I do not want any fees charged. It is very misleading to say Free, then once downloaded start charging..Version: 2.18.0

Not great.I don’t want to pay for it and I can only get three free songs. 😒 horrible. I was excited to use it..Version: 2.27.0

Paid and won’t let me inSame as a lot of folks. Paid the subscription and it won’t give me access. Will update if customer support gets back to me and gives me prompt refund.Version: 2.22.1

VarietyI love this app, I really do. It’s easy to follow, I love the courses section and I am able to learn how to play different music rather quickly than if I was left to figure it out on my own. Seeing and hearing how the song is played definitely helps me a lot when I am trying to learn a piece of music. I am enjoying learning how to play old school classical music. My one complaint, which for me is rather huge, is that their library of available music isn’t big enough to be inclusive of different types of music people want to learn. For example I want to learn how to play The Old Rugged Cross, Hold Me Now by Red, Burn The Ships by for King and Country, and old school Christmas music including the hymnals because you can only play White Christmas so many times before you want to rip out your own hair. I will gladly give this app five stars when there is a rich selection of Contemporary Christian music, classical hymns, and hymnal Christmas music to choose from..Version: 2.11.0

Not responding to soundI would give this app 5 stars if it wasn’t for the fact that it doesn’t respond to sound, despite picking up the notes from my keyboard (I can see the little mic in the top left corner picking up the notes as I hit the keys, and they are the right keys, but the exercise does not progress). It’s as if it got stuck. Because this annoying issue has been happening quite a bit since the beginning of my free trial, I may not purchase the app, and it is upsetting, because this truly is a good app, definitely worth the money, if it actually worked all the time and not only some of the time. I hope this problem can be fixed (I’ll change the rating then). Thank you!.Version: 2.45.1

The key re doesn't workIt doesn't work well so i can't practice!!!.Version: 2.23.1

Terrible Midi FunctionReally excited about the app but the midi function is awful on the iPad as there is no option for midi sound like on a Mac. It was recognizing my playing through my speaker until all of a sudden it didn’t want to recognize my A note. I switched different sounds and it was all the same. Then I wanted to try the midi function. Works perfectly fine when I use GarageBand and sound comes out great so I know it’s not on my end but when I try and get sound out of flowkey nothing comes out. I read online that you midi controller requires an audio out but that’s kind of ridiculous since many midi controllers don’t have that option (I own 4 from various companies and price points) Please fix this or I may need to switch apps..Version: 2.23.2

Keeps on sending you emails and too pricyIt’s says it’s free but it’s not and it has a very little Variety. When you delete the app you still have tons of emails everyday from flowkey.Version: 2.23.2

Probably a good tool for beginnersI’ve been playing piano for almost 20 years- I started when I was five. After I moved to my own apartment, I decided to buy a Yamaha digital piano with weighted keys to best mimic the true touch of a real piano. I noticed this App from Yamaha’s website and decided to give it a try. After tried playing several pieces, I think this app is really ideal for beginners who do not know anything about pedal, dynamics, and the flow of music. The only thing this app cares about is wether you played a note right or wrong. While playing the note correctly is an essential part for beginners, for more advanced players, there are certainty room for improvements. This App did help me correct some notes that I unintentionally played wrong, but I had to stop and correct the wrong note before I can move on. Imaging you’re playing some beautiful pieces in front of your friends, this app keep yelling at you for one note and will not show the rest of the sheets before you correct it. More ideally (at least for me) is that after I finish playing the whole piece, this app can tell me the locations of notes or chords I played wrong in this piece. But I think it is still a quite powerful tool for beginners who just want to press the key and play some music..Version: 2.27.0

It needs workNot bad but limited in amount of learning course material. The big advantage it has is the song library size, but I find it lacking in course structure and explanation of what to do or any sort of fundamentals for absolute beginners other follow along the notes on the screen (without teaching them to you first).Version: 2.28.2

Stupid app for free optionsThere are literally NO free options in the app. You only get like 7 songs and all the other ones you need premium. Premium can cost you over 100$!! Flowkey, you better make more free songs in your app like ALL of the video game themes should be free. If you guys don’t add more free songs to the app, I will never use your app. Make it more free. Are you ever going to?.Version: 2.30.0

Way too expensiveI downloaded the app as someone who already plays piano but wants to learn more well known songs. As soon as I logged in I realised it had a premium membership but I decided to skip knowing it’s too much money and I probably wouldn’t need it. Almost everything in the app needs the membership. I only have a very limited amount of songs I can play and I can only play them at begginer level. The membership is too expensive for me so it’s really annoying. Unless u have enough money to pay don’t download.Version: 2.45.1

SThe app doesn’t recognize the notes when i play with both hands.Version: 2.18.2

Won’t let me buy premiumWhenever the premium tab pops up, it won’t let me scroll down. Great app though love it..Version: 2.23.1

SucksThis sucks.Version: 2.23.1

Not really goodYou have to pay 175$ just for premium 😡😡😡.Version: 2.49.0

Stole my money doesn’t work!Flowkey is the worst app I ever had. It doesn’t work offline, yet they want 20 € a month! they take days to respond via their customer services, told me to try for a refund at the istore directly instead of issuing themselves, did I this within the 14 days from download after they wasted days of my time waiting for their lame responses then istore declined refund point blank. VERY ANGRY! can’t use app, wasted days of my time, arrogant, selfish people, they care only about money not music. you can lean piano without their expensive rubbish. There is software that works with a full offline licence for a fraction of their extortionate subscription tariffs. Its companies like this who just con people online. Disgusting behaviour. Real musicians don’t act like this. Will be speaking directly to Apple in person about this. Action against this company WILL be escalated. Con artists. Cyber criminals dressed up as musicians. Avoid at all costs..Version: 2.23.1
