Flowkey – Learn Piano for Positive User Reviews

Amazing appAlthough a lot of the services are paid, the free songs we can learn are just as good. Songs can be learnt at my pace.Version: 2.11.0

Best Piano AppEver since I was little I wanted to learn piano. When I turned 20 or so I took three years of lessons here and there but then I started my career and didn’t have time to really pursue. This app has me sitting behind my piano at least 2 hours a day! I get to learn all the classical songs I always dreamt of ! I get to pause the video and rewind what a teacher would show me as many times I can. I get to pick out short minuets and practice techniques. I mean this app is just amazing!! it’s making my dream is being able to play come true at the age of 33! I tried a bunch of apps out there, there is nothing like this. Thank you a thousand times!! S.Version: 2.26.1

Really coolI am using this app with full features for the moments. The support when needed has been really good and almost immediate. The functionality has also been great and we are very surprised how well has been working and really enjoying the app. The lessons are great but I am disappointed with the choices available for learning songs. I wanted to practice perfect day by Lou Reed and there was none, Chick Corea too and there was none. I hope they keep adding more songs from different artist as I don’t find it much choice in relation to what I would like to learn. It would help to have a wider repertoire of songs to learn..Version: 2.30.0

Excellent concept and works better than I expectedThis app is excellent for practicing music. It allows you to loop a section and the microphone pics up sound very well. There are times when it is a little buggy, but regardless I’ve seen a huge improvement in my playing. If you can sit down and play, it’s like having somewhere there to help you practice. There are some features that I wish were available, like the ability to toggle on and off which notes are supposed to be play next so that you can practice reading the notes yourself. I also wish there was the ability to add markers and save your progress. These are minor things though and overall I’m very happy with the way this app works..Version: 2.6.2

Comprehensive systemI got a 3 month free subscription with my Yamaha keyboard and that gave me enough time to explore this piano tuition app and decide if I wanted to extend. I did. What is important to me is the right combination of song-lessons and technique. Flowkey has a very good technique section which I’m half-way through, including scale-drills which any piano player will tell you are absolutely essential. The choice of songs to learn is very good - there must be 100s to choose from and what I particularly like is that you can choose a song at beginner level and then return to it at intermediate and higher building up your skills with many of the songs. I’m about to moved from Claire De Lune beginner to intermediate and you appreciate the extra phrasing as you progress. The pace of the lessons is very good. And the note-monitoring when practicing a piece is good - especially if you have tour device plugged into the back of the keyboard with a purchased cable. So for me, a complete novice at piano, this is an excellent choice and I look forward to learning many many more songs whilst also building my technique. Well done developers for putting this together!.Version: 2.25.1

Very goodA little less hand holding than simply piano, but I quite like that. I also like that we can see the piano players hands much more easily on this app, because knowing how to reach keys or position my hand for certain chords is difficult if you haven’t got a teacher there beside you..Version: 2.55.0

Not what I expected.I am an experienced pianist, so cannot comment on the teaching tools, but I am disappointed with the sheet music, as in there is none. My complaints: 1. You must play from the line that only shows a few bars at a time. 2. You cannot slow the speed of the flow - at least not that I can figure out. I’m a good sight reader, but It would be nice to be able to do that when first learning a new song. 3. You only see the key you are in at the start of the flow. I would like be able to glance at a key signature from time to time, especially in songs where it changes throughout. 4. I would like the option of downloading the sheet music so that I done have to deal with the flow line only. I would be fine with a small fee to download a digital file. 5. There seems to be a glitch in connecting to Bluetooth. My Roland has a blue tooth connection - this is the first time I’ve had trouble connecting. 6. It does not seem there are 1000+ songs. Where are they hiding? What I like — the partners arrangements and being able to hear and see their scores - albeit a few bars at a time. I will need to go to them to purchase the digital files and hopefully they are available from them. If you want to try it - pay for one month only to see if this is something for you. I paid for 3 months and unless I see some other benefits, that will be all I am in for..Version: 2.4.0

Serves a purpose, there are work arounds for lack of sheet musicI took lessons for years when I was a kid, never very good, but I still like to dabble on my own. The app helps me A LOT for this first couple hours learning a piece. It's much faster than me working on my own. However, after a certain point the app is no longer helpful. That's when i start needing the sheet music to work at my own speed and drill problem areas. The app just isn't good for that and I can't memorize pieces like this app is apparently expecting you to. Overall it serves a purpose up to a point but then you really need the sheet music. some songs arranged by their "partners" do have sheet music available on the partner's website. for the other songs I've resorted to taking screenshots of measures then piecing them together on my computer. not ideal but it works. the classical music obviously has sheet music you can find on other sources. for that reason i upgraded it to four stars. minus a star for expense..Version: 2.4.1

Best app ever for piano beginnersLove this app.Version: 2.24.0

Good but,This app is really awesome and helped to teach me piano but I was practicing two songs on there and the next morning they had just disappeared. They both were not anywhere and I have the premium membership. I don’t know why this happened, but it is really annoying. Please tell me why this happened and if it can be fixed!.Version: 2.12.0

It is goodIt is good.Version: 2.57.0

Excellent App and Customer ServiceI have been a user of the flowkey app for the past four months and am very impressed. I am using the app for teaching myself how to play the piano and the integrated approach of listening, viewing and then playing is fantastic. The app shows me the proper fingering of the notes, along with the sheet music. Flowkey‘s ability to “hear” my playing is very cool. With respect to the Customer Service Team, they are incredibly quick in replying and extremely thorough. I had an issue with the app on two different iPads and reached out to them for a solution. They were very responsive and I give them the highest marks of excellence. Bravo flowkey!.Version: 2.8.1

Fantastic. Mostly!Fantastic. Mostly. Except when it doesn’t “hear” you play and it makes you repeat something over and over even when you’re playing all the notes correctly. A little frustrating. Especially when you don’t want to overemphasise any notes! Overall though very happy with this app. Much better in my opinion than another well-known app as you can pick and choose where to start or what courses to practise. Great if you played for a long while when younger and just want to get back into it again. Thanks Flowkey! Lots of fun.Version: 2.23.1

Happy to recommend flowkeyI’m new to flowkey but so far so good 👍 it’s easy to understand, easy to follow and easy to use. You work at your own pace and you can repeat courses until you’re satisfied to move on, which happens quicker than you think possible. Highly recommended you have nothing to lose only a gain in playing with confidence Angela S Australia.Version: 2.4.1

Amazing appThe best feature in my opinion is the left hand and right hand isolation it’s so helpful. I 100% recommend this app. The only thing is that more songs in the future would be enjoyable to have..Version: 2.52.0

Good but with a bugI really like the way Flowkey is set up. The lessons are easy to follow but as others have mentioned you do have to constantly click on Continue etc to progress. My main problem is that I am using the app with a digital keyboard and the app has difficulty picking up when I play the bass clef and thus stops progression. Will this issue be fixed if I connect my iPad to the keyboard via a cable? Does the cable facilitate the app picking up what I am playing? Would love a response as I do really like the app and fixing this glitch would be great..Version: 2.23.2

Good but too expensiveShould be like max 10$ per month.Version: 2.4.0

Plz write bass chords (ie. D7th etc etc) on the music sheetThank you.Version: 2.23.1

On and offWe used the trial version for a week and now have switched to the premium version, it works well most of the times but then it gets frustrating at times when it cannot recognize a chord or a note when practicing and we have to manually move to the next note. This is such a turn off - my daughter used to love practicing her piano, but now hesitates and says flowkey is frustrating..Version: 2.23.1

Learn at your own paceI am an older adult (73 years old) and new to piano. I tried working with 2 different piano teachers. One taught me like one of her 6 year old learners, though I know she meant well. The other seemed like she was out to prove something and had no patience for mistakes. So I decided to try flowkey and learn on my own. It was the best decision I could have made. I went ahead and bought the lifetime membership and I am glad I did. I am now learning and playing music. There are tons of selections for every level, plus there are courses for learning scales, chords, and more. I wish there were more courses. If I could change something, it would be to have the ability to download an entire piece so that I could print it out and play it when I don’t have an internet connection. This would also allow me to look at the whole piece, and give me a better context for what I am learning. As it is right now you can only see a few measures at a time as the piece scrolls by. Still, I highly recommend this app..Version: 2.10.1

Definitely get a MIDI cableJust getting back into piano after a 20 year hiatus and this app has been a nice way to find a decent variety of songs to get back to it. Songs range from classical to pop to romantic and the same song usually comes in multiple levels, letting you get a taste for a song, master one level to feel accomplished, and then start practicing against the next level. The cloud syncing of your songs and preferences is great as you can change between devices and your songs follow you. The wait for me feature is awesome, especially when you have a section that is particularly tricky. As others have noted, the microphone note detection is sketchy, so do yourself a favour and get a MIDI cable if possible. Feedback to the developer: * I wish you would group the same song’s various levels together * there seems to be a huge gap between intermediate and advanced. See Happy Birthday as an example of the leap between the two. * the ability to add to/remove from favourites on all views of a song would be a huge boon * minor nit: the indicator between beginner and intermediate is really hard to differentiate if you’re colour blind.Version: 2.23.2

Fantastic way to learn!I am now in my late fifties and always wanted to learn the piano, so a year ago I started lessons once a week at my home. I couldn't make the fixed appointment work with my lifestyle, so I cancelled a few weeks ago and signed up to Flowkey. Wow! I love everything about it - play songs I know and like, play along with the instructions, slow it down to a speed I can manage, go over it as many times as I want and most importantly- play when I have the time. I really think I have made more progress in 3 weeks than the year I had lessons and it's certainly cost me materially less. I have one key that doesn't pick up well on my piano, so I may get a keyboard as well, but it's nothing that has deterred me or really slowed me down. The support is also amazing - quick and super helpful, so if you have always wanted to play, but never knew where to start, I highly recommend Flowkey..Version: 2.10.2

What about monthly subscriptions? This app has a week of free trial in which I had a couple of plays and I enjoyed using it. Unfortunately the subscription is yearly so the developer doesn’t really provide users with enough time to make a decision as to whether a yearly subscription is worth it. So thumbs down for that..Version: 2.50.0

Great but...Firstly you barely get any songs for free and the ones you do like imagine by John Lennon it isn’t even the full song, I know it repeats a lot but all the parts should be included even if they repeat, the end of the chorus is missing and also it is very expensive and well a lot of songs pianists would want to play are not on there 1500 songs is a lot but really I think there should be daily updates with new songs and members can request new songs and I would also like the songs to be finished, even listening to some they are not finished like Chopin Fantasia, that is almost 7 minutes long the recording definitely isn’t that long, otherwise it is an amazing way to learn new songs just a bit disappointing.Version: 2.22.4

Plz more anime songsThe app is extremely good and it was really easy too learn songs but I’m a weirdo and am obsessed with anime songs I was really happy that there was the attach on titan opening but after that there weren’t to many maybe like 2 more so I’m really hoping someone sees this and adds more but it still is a great app and I will continue using it for a long time 👍.Version: 2.21.2

My review of an app that got me into pianoI found this app from a youtuber entitled “Daniel thrasher”. I downloaded it because I was bored during quarantine and I needed to get myself a hobby. 2 weeks later I learned ode to joy off by heart and multiple others. If a reviewer sees this then get the app, yes it has a membership in order to get even better but it is like paying someone to have a chance to make even more money from something you are passionate about..Version: 2.24.0

Amazing app to learn pianoIf you have never played piano this is the app you need. I play guitar and I’ve played trumpet in school so I have a idea how sheet music goes but it’s been many years. I have never played piano so I am a complete beginner I work 8 hours a day and I practice using this app about 2 hours when I get home I’m only 5 days into the trial and can read sheet music and know all the keys on the piano. This is a amazing app I thought the lessons were kinda random I would learn a couple notes then jump into other stuff then jump back to more notes but now I see why they placed the lessons like they did it helps to pick up more advanced stuff later down the line. Very well made app and great teachers thank you flowkey so much..Version: 2.45.1

Where are my fingers? The videos of finger positions are great. I’m spending a lot of time studying and copying how the pianist moves his fingers between positions. By doing this I’ve learnt the tricks he uses to know where the keys are, especially by use of the black keys..Version: 2.33.0

Great appI thought this app was pretty good. The only problem is is that it sometimes doesn’t load the song and whenever I click on a song to learn it, it quits me out of the app entirely. This can be fairly frustrating, but after a few tries it works. There are still some bugs and minor issues to this app but overall it’s very educational and it has access to some of my favourite songs..Version: 2.8.1

Already the best, could be better.I LOVE this app. They have the best pop songs (very important to me) and they keep the app updated regularly. I tried many piano learning apps but this one was the best. The UI is great. I like being able to loop any section I want, scroll back and fourth, and use a midi keyboard if I want. I keep buying the yearly subscription and it is totally worth it. One improvement I would love to see is an option to remove or add the hands from/to the view (while learning a song) if you would like. I actually put a piece of paper over the hands part of the screen when I’m trying to learn how to read the sheet music, because my brain wants me to just peek at the hands because they’re easier to read. This option would help us learn how to read sheet music. Then we could add the hands back to the view whenever they were desired..Version: 2.23.1

Just wowI’ve been tinkering with the piano for months, tried some lesson books, online lessons and to be honest it wasn’t going to well. Then I found flowkey, just wow, this is the most effective way to learn piano. Thank you flowkey..Version: 2.13.1

Love the startI am not that tech savvy but I was able to follow the instructions well. I think I like this. In order to write a review I need to know what else I am in for before making payment. How do I choose a song melody I like? How much practice I can have for each song? Will the online instructor guide just like his I learnt my first song Ode to Joe?.Version: 2.57.0

App is definitely helpful for learning pianoThis app is amazing, after a couple of months of complaining to my parents to buy me simply piano they told me use flowkey I immediately refused and downloaded simply piano after a while with simply piano I hadn't learned much so I gave flowkey a try and now I can play so many great songs like entertainer, fur Elise, and let it go. I definitely recommend the game but I just have one request could you please add the gambler it is my favourite song and skoove isn't helping me..Version: 2.30.0

Sometimes brokenWhenever I play it will sometimes not recognize my notes..Version: 2.53.0

Lots of potential - not there yet thoughFlowkey is great for helping to learn how to play, but one of the most useful tools on the app is the ‘wait’ mode, where Flowkey waits until you’ve played the correct note before it continues. When it works, this mode has really helped me improve my note reading however it is very prone to mis-hearing the note and detecting an incorrect note as correct and a correct note as incorrect. Unless this is improved, I’m not yet whether I’ll continue to use the app as it is quite frustrating..Version: 2.23.1

Great to play againVery helpful scales to play evenly again.Version: 2.30.0

Why I love this app so much(was not told to do this)I love this app so much because it helped me and my five-year-old daughter Dylan piano. She loves piano so much. She has classes at school but since is the summer break she doesn’t really play as much that’s why we download this last night it’s so good, I do recommend this football ages that’s why I love it..Version: 2.49.0

My saviorOk, I never write reviews... like ever, but this app deserves it. I am completely new to piano, never have taken a lesson in my life and while I have been trying, I couldn’t play with two hands to save my life, that is until I found this app. Even though I have only played through a little bit of the beginner songs, I CAN FINALLY PLAY WITH TWO HANDS!!!!! I have tried everything, besides a teacher because I like to learn by myself, and this app is the only thing so far that has helped me to play simultaneously with two hands, and actually play the piano well. It allows you to go at your own pace and slow songs down, and while it’s a little pricy, heck, I might even buy a subscription. So to all my newbies who also have no idea how to play and are loosing hope, this app helped me, and although you can only access a few songs before buying a subscription, I recommend it for the short time you can use it before it blocks off..Version: 2.14.1

Great app10 minutes into using the app and can play ode to joy melody, the note recognition feature gives it a guitar feel and turns it into a game. Fun so far.Version: 2.64.0

Learn at your own pace, plus the fact that you can jump around to where you feel comfortable but...I like the fact that you can learn at your own pace and that unlike with music lessons you have to practice a certain amount of time everyday and I didn’t like that idea so learning at your own pace works for me. The only problem is the note detection from playing on the piano and the iPad hearing it from the mic. It seems to glitch every once in a while when i play two notes at a time i have to play them a couple of times in a row to get it to hear me playing. And at one point today when I was playing I played two notes and then the screen didn’t move on to the next section and I tried closing out the app and it was still happening. And I know it isn’t my iPad that is the problem because I just got this back in December and it is the bran new 2019 version..Version: 2.22.2

Very easy to follow the notes and play along with either hand or both handsLove this app only needs to put numbers for the fingers under the notes when it changes so you know which finger needs to be change. Otherwise love this way to learn at your own time and learn to hear the notes and how it’s played before you start. What is should should like. Love the way the iPad can hear the notes as you play and it will only move forward when you hit the right notes..Version: 2.54.0

Very good appSo I was looking for a piano app and then I found this app. The subscription is 7.99 tho, but it’s better than simply piano’s 21.99..Version: 2.55.0

‘D’ note not recognisedHi there, for some reason my ‘D’ note isn’t recognised when playing to the courses. I have to press it twice, or hold the note down until it’s recognised to move on. This then throws of the rhythm of the piece... I’d say it could be my tuning but I’m using a keyboard....Version: 2.23.3

Incredibly false-advertised.Their subscription page says you will have access to 1000+ songs. In reality, there are actually 216. Note that the selection is decent for such a small slice of the music world, but there is no excuse for such Lies. I wanted to like this app, but many of the songs are only portions of said songs, which differ in quality. If you are going to spend 20$ a month, or more outrageously, 300$ for a lifetime subscription, you ought to get a real tutor. Unless the price drops to adjust to the song quantity and quality, you will do better elsewhere. Edit: raised stars because developer responses are great forms of customer service. I will look into the matter and contact your team. This has been greatly appreciated. Will be in contact soon..Version: 2.0.3

Flowkey AppTo whom it may concern; whether you’re a novice or a pro at the piano or keyboard. As an intermediate piano, keyboard and organ player, I highly recommend Flowkey App. It gives you many opportunities to learn and grow. It has video beginner courses to get you started. For the more advanced players there are many songs you can select to learn with its midi capabilities thus giving you its 100 percent note recognition. What I like most is the features it has to learn. You can loop sections at a time , play one hand at a time and then both hands. Slow down the tempo. On the downside; it does not let you print any songs..Version: 2.54.0

Flowkey is an excellent appI have learned to play beautiful songs I enjoy it every minute while practicing the piano I have tried different apps. Flowkey is the best..Version: 2.50.0

I like flowkey. Great way to learn piano for beginnersI’m a beginner. I’ve tried all the piano apps on a trial basis: simply piano, yousician, piano academy, Skoove, Pianote, flowkey. I settled on flowkey because it’s a much more gradual and progressive learning tool. For example, yousician often goes from an easy piece, then suddenly to a ridiculously harder piece. The harder piece invariably has note durations, tempo and rhythms that have not been previously taught in the app. Flowkey steadily presents the learner with gradually harder lessons and pieces. It repeats the content in the lessons until you get it. I like flowkey so far. 😊.Version: 2.34.2

I RecomendI’m a student and can’t afford the paied version, but I got given an old keyboard and I know some music theory and I am a compentent guitar player, and the free songs were SO HELPFUL! Also there are free courses, you should try those and if you like the format then buy the full version if you can. I personally loved how the songs were layed out with the “wait” option that listens to you play so you can get it perfect. Most music apps don’t have free songs/lessons so appreciate this app. Deserves six stars!.Version: 2.23.0

A different way to learn the piano.I have playing piano off and on for over 30 years and Flowkey is the best and most inspiring teacher I've ever had. I've learned more new songs in the last 6 months than in all those other years. Exceptional piano playing meets intelligent app design. The song selection and piano styles have me playing and learning in ways I would never have with a single teacher. The ability to slow down and repeat any amount of a song is invaluable. As is learning the proper fingering with an unobstructed view of the pianist hands. It can also be a great tool for site reading. I can't say enough about the absolutely beautiful piano playing on this app. Pure unadulterated piano that can simply be listened to and enjoyed as some of the best piano renderings you can find. Bravo to the Flowkey pianist...Version: 2.12.0

AmazingThis app is amazing. I would highly recommend it to beginners because it teaches you everything. It has courses to do and has all different levels for songs. If you are right handed and you can’t play with both hands, you can switch it to only your right hand or left. It is amazing the app..Version: 2.10.2

Slowly but steadily playing at last!Self taught musician playing professionally over 50 years (now retired) I’ve been attempting to play sight reading piano on and off for over 60. To me, it’s like a left brain mathematical thing and I could never get it. But, finally, with Flowkey it’s working. It seems to appeal to my creative right brain in helping to learn this mysterious language and play the music. Flowkey is the best app of its kind offering a more traditional musical approach. And so very affordable compared to private music lessons. Thanks Flowkey 😍.Version: 2.48.0

Flowkey and why I like itFlowkey gives you a chance to learn the piano in ways that are new. It has songs that are suitable for children over 5 years, as well as old classics that parents\grown-ups might like to learn. It sorts all the songs into categories, which is useful if you want to find a certain song, and it also gives lessons on chords all round. It gives you a choice of to play the right, left, or both hands of the song, and a video that shows a person playing it..Version: 2.28.2

Great app but I need more MIDI optionsOverall I like Flowkey a lot more than other apps like Simply Piano. It has a better interface and better lessons in my opinion. I also love the fact that it has a MIDI interface since the keyboard I currently own is a MIDI only controller. The only problem with this is that the app doesn’t play back any audio of the notes I’m playing. I assume this is because most people using the app would be playing a normal keyboard or piano. But since my keyboard is just a controller, it doesn’t have any speakers on it so I can only hear the audio through whatever device I’m connected to. The options menu on this app is pretty limited, and as far as I can tell, there’s no way to change this. I realize that I’m probably in a minority situation, but since there doesn’t seem to be a work around for this yet, I’m stuck using Simply Piano if I want to hear what I’m playing. But since I still prefer everything else about this app, I’m hoping that this option will be added..Version: 2.11.0

Good app but lack of accompanying sheet musicFlowkey has good structure for beginners but does not provide the sheet music accompanied with the exercises making it very hard to follow. It would be great if the team can provide the excerpts of the sheet music, similar to what Simply Piano provides..Version: 2.25.1

Little annoyances but otherwise good. Not sure what happens after the free trial month, but at the moment it’s not giving me whole songs. My other couple of annoyances are, it would be great to swap the layout by choice, with keyboard below the score. Plus ability to add some notes to along the music, eg if want to play parts as crescendo, or add peddle at particular points etc. Really wish this technology had been available and affordable decades ago, would have made learning so much more fun :).Version: 2.34.3

Immensely enjoyable - one area for improvementI’m a complete novice and have enjoyed this app immensely. There’s a wide variety of pieces available to learn, many of which have been excellently arranged. My only criticism is the app does not always pick up when the correct note has been played when using “wait mode”. I appreciate this will be a very difficult thing to get right every time, particularly if a piano is slightly out of tune. However, a simple mitigant to the problem would be to introduce a voice command (e.g. “next”) which would move the app to the next note. For novices like myself, this would improve the learning experience enormously, as I’m heavily reliant on the wait mode to learn the pieces. Having to manually move the notation along by scrolling left / right is frustrating. It also means I lose my hand position on the keys (probably not an issue for a good player but difficult for a beginner). That said, I absolutely love this app..Version: 2.29.1

Absolutely magnificentThis is the first review I’ve ever written for an app, but flowkey deserves it. At the time I’m writing this, I’ve been teaching myself the piano on flowkey and a few other ways for just under a year now. Before I get into some critiques, I want to say that this app is a godsend. Flowkey is helped me become comfortable and confident when it comes to playing the piano, it makes learning songs much easier especially with its wait mode. Being able to practice three measures with my right, then left hand, then together has helped me accelerate my learning to speed that I didn’t even know it was possible. I have fallen in love with the piano, and most of it stems from me downloading and taking a chance on this app. thank you developers of flowkey you’ve helped me find a hobby that I truly love! I could give y’all 4.5 stars but there are some things that would be really nice to change. 1) let users disable the feature that shows how the song is played above the written music. i’ve developed a really bad habit of following along with the person playing the highlighted notes, above the written notes. my site reading hasn’t improved substantially. Partly because of this, partly because it’s my own fault to begin with. However, I feel like learning the notes would’ve came to me a lot faster if I could’ve disabled that at one point. 2) let me zoom in on the written notes on the iPad version of flowkey. On my phone I can on my iPad I can’t I’d really like to be able to zoom in on the written notes or the highlighted notes being played at some points. 3) Allow users to listen to one specific hand being played at full speed, rather than the 50 and 75% that’s only allowed on iPad. Kind of annoying to have to pull up my phone to listen to one hand being played at full speed. 4) more courses!!! flowkey has me addicted to learning songs. Practice for a half hour to an hour daily however, I really enjoyed the courses especially when I just started learning. I feel like if there is more courses, I could refine my skills even more and even faster. Thanks again for this amazing app. The critiques above are not game changers and flowkey is still 100% worth anyone’s time especially if they’re just starting. I’m looking forward to seeing how the developers continue to improve this app!!!.Version: 2.66.0

Really helpfulI find this really fun, it is very good if your looking for easy and hard songs to learn, it also has very easy ways and instructions on learning these songs. The best part is that it has a huge variety of songs to learn. I definitely recommend it..Version: 2.10.2

Good job!Hello 👋 it is an awesome app, well done! I have learnt some songs, but I am very restricted to songs. It would be nice if you could make more of the songs free. Also, i can use my voice as the piano in wait mode, you can just hum the tune.... is it tracking everything I say? Other than that, I love this app a lot. Thank you for making it!.Version: 2.28.3

I like itFlowkey is good with showing the notes and the hands to let people know what note it is playing. It would be good to have an option to hide the hands to test that kids can actually read the notes and not just following the hand video.Version: 2.26.1

Unable to upgrade to premiumIt's showing that payment is successful and immediately showing it is failed!!!!.Version: 2.14.0

I love this app so much!!I just got a keyboard and I am learning new songs. I am improving every day and can nearly play fur Elise. It’s the best piano/keyboard app I have seen so far. But can you please maybe add some more songs in free section..Version: 2.23.1

Great app BUT...Got a three month subscription with my piano. Using piano marvel to tackle some classical pieces, but this has a nice feature of showing the hand placement if I get stuck. I don’t want to rely on watching hand placement or I’ll never get good at sight reading, but the looping, separate hands and different speeds are great. They also have a wide variety of pieces of a range of difficulty. Biggest note on this app is there is a huge piece of unused black space above the hand position video. Would be nice to be able to slide hand position video and sheet music up to reveal more sheet music and remove unused black space. Seems like an obvious issue to improve. I end up having piano marvel and this app open and switch back and forth. Maybe wouldn’t do that if the empty black space issue was resolved and more sheet music took up more real estate on the iPad screen..Version: 2.24.0

MadanAs a beginner I wanted easy to understand structure. I tried several apps until I found flowkey which was super easy to use. I am quite happy to use and recommend it to anyone..Version: 2.28.2

ImpressedI am in my 50s and decided to buy a piano. I started using this app and have so enjoyed learning. The courses are helpful. The beginner tunes are great fun. I feel as though I am really achieving. My only frustration is that when I am playing the correct notes the app or iPad does not hear them so I end up having to play them a couple of times. I will continue to buy into the sessions as I am still really impressed. Have just bought my first sheet music and can read them..Version: 2.11.0

Love it!Love this freaking app! I’m kind of addicted to it. We got a Yamaha piano p-45 for Christmas for our family, and it came with three free months of flowkey. I’ve been doing courses and songs every day. What a great combo. I quit piano lessons after a year in fifth grade. Never made it to two hands, and flowkey had me playing with two hands in a few days. Thanks! Only feature I’d like is to have an option to see the entire song on the screen, and even print a pdf if copyrights allow. Sometimes it’s hard to remember which parts are coming up, and printout would solidify the song. But I do love the scrolling as a great learning method. Also buy a MIDI chord to recognize the notes spot on. The mic did good enough, but with the direct link I can play with headphones or a lot of noisy kids in the background and not miss a note..Version: 2.22.1

Flow keyFlowkey is fun and is really good I think others should try it and rate five stars it’s great and I just never have a problem. I’m always playing perfectly. I’ve just learnt a song I already knew but with the chords I never knew I would learn until later years. I 🧡it.Version: 2.49.0

Good but could have improvementsOverall It’s a good app to start learning piano, the courses teach you all the basics in an easy to understand way, there are many beginner friendly songs and you can learn at your own speed. It’s a really quick way to just learn some songs or as an aid to learning piano. Some improvements that would make it even more useful: - The ability to download the songs as printable sheet music - A more in depth course about music notation - More information on the sheet music (fingering, dynamics, pedals etc) - Built in metronome! - Ability to change the layout (no visuals/ on different parts of the screen) These additions would make the app so much better as it has a lot of potential..Version: 2.41.0

Cannot recommend it enough, just brilliantThis app has no words. Amazing songs, support is amazing, easy to understand and also brilliant courses make this app shine. I have personally tried some other apps as well, but couldn't find one that met all of this. It is true that you do need Premium for the real fun, but even without premium, you could still try out a few songs. There are a few apps where you finish one couse, and then you HAVE to get the premium plan, else the app's useless. This meets everything I wanted in learning piano. It helped me learn a whole song that nearly all my friends love. This app is all you need with practice..Version: 2.10.2

Gentle PaceMy first introduction to the keyboard, thanks to my complementary course courtesy of Keyflow, allowed me to experience and remember certain key positions. I found the tutorial selection of music pieces to be memorable and having a memory of the teaching piece allowed me to try harder to mimic the melody. If I had a complaint about the method of teaching then it would be the waiting for the green tick to acknowledge my progress. Some of the periods which left me waiting for the tick seemed to go on for quite a long time and this had the effect of loosing my concentration even whilst I was very eager to learn. If my enthusiasm to learn led me to go too quickly through the tutorial and my iPad had difficulty in keeping up then I apologise, but at the same time I would urge you to extend the program so that the course can take account of faster pupils. Kind regards Ray..Version: 2.13.1

Wonderful learning tool and teamAlthough my use of the app was very limited, I did enjoy the program layout & music library. Unfortunately, I’d forgotten to cancel my subscription & had been charged for a renewal. I reached out to the team immediately after the renewal, & they were very kind & prompt to reimburse me & cancel the subscription. Would be happy to subscribe again in the future under different circumstances & will continue to recommend to friends & family..Version: 2.30.0

Exciting!I'm 40, bought a Yamaha p45 for my partners birthday and it came with 3 months free subscription to this app. I didn't know at first and thought it was a bit pricey, but having installed it and now played with the full version a whole night, I'm sold. Fun, surprisingly easy for someone that NEVER played in his life, and addictive too. I feel young again and that's not a small thing to say 😜 I'll easily pay for this app once out 3 months free run out.Version: 2.8.1

New subscriberJust finding my level at the moment. I’ve found the beginners level of Mama Mia which is just right for me but I’ve also found the intermediate level which I hope to be able to master eventually. I’m finding the programme enjoyable but challenging. Not quite got my head around changing the speed of the music . Hope to spend many happy hours with flowkey during the lockdown. Joan.Version: 2.23.1

Amazing appI’m 45 years old beginner just starting from zero, I’m still using the 7 days free trial and I’m so happy. Just wondering if have still have Lifetime Premium Subscrition. Thank you so much!!!.Version: 2.34.1

Great for BeginnersUpdate I purchased 3 more months. It's holiday time and I can actually play many of the intermediate level songs. I am so pleased with my progress. Flowkey just added even more holiday music. I am so thrilled by the choices of songs and levels. This app is great for practicing piano. I play at least 5 times a week. Original review I purchased this app for 3 months. I am 60 and never played piano. I am now at intermediate level and can play many pieces with both hands. The lessons are well planned and effective. The choice of music is very good with popular songs, classics, and classical. There are also many holiday songs to play. I enjoy practicing everyday by playing various songs I have identified as favorites. These songs are saved so I can find them easily. Flowkey allows for choosing the speed to play the song or using flow mode, a mode that waits for the correct note. I like learning songs in that mode. It allows me to develop proficiency before attempting to play in time. I would recommend this app to adults who would like to learn piano. It would be fine for young kids with support from a knowledgeable adult..Version: 2.11.0

Great balance of theory and playabilityIf you think that learning the piano is like being slowly tortured, with memories of sitting for hours at a keyboard, practicing scales - think again. Flowkey has a great mix of theory and easily accessible hints and tips that had me playing in no time. It’s almost 30 years since I treated myself to a piano, determined to learn. I was hopeless. But my kids came along and learned to play it, self-taught through apps and videos..! I could find nothing that had that balance I needed. Something that understood the itch to get playing, but acknowledged the need to learn the basics at my own pace. Then I found Flowkey. I love it. I can choose a variety of practice pieces and never get bored by repeating things over and over again. It actually makes me want to practice. Anyway, enough of this review. I have chords to learn!.Version: 2.8.1

Flowkey reviewI love this programme! I wish you finish the piano score for the beginner level songs though. I am returning to the piano and while I know how the songs should finish I don’t know the notes. it would be lovely to have the entire score for beginner level. Also have an option to repeat for the chorus or verses..Version: 2.48.0

FlowkeySometimes we need to make a start at home on something that we always had a deep desire to learn. This app gives that chance. Using headphones I don’t disturb anyone when I’m using it. So my mistakes are always covered. 😻.Version: 2.35.2

Good for learning songsThis app is perfect for learning songs. However, the one problem I found was the microphone and it also moved the music on before I played the notes. Also, I wouldn’t recommend this to a beginner because this app doesn’t teach you the notes and rhythms. In conclusion, I think this is an app if you have patience and a bit of experience..Version: 2.20.2

AmazingThis is absolutely brilliant the subscription costs a bit much but my school bought it for my grade we’ve been learning piano it’s a bit easier for me cause I’ve been playing for a couple years but I love this app! It’s amazing. -Alki.Version: 2.31.1

Add skip abilityIt would be great if you would add an ability to skip listening to the demo. If I want to practice skills, I don’t need to necessarily listen to it twice every time. I would like the option to skip as needed. This would be very helpful for making this part of my daily practice. Also I’m coming back to it after a while. And when I was using it to study the songs, I had one slight frustration that made me not use it as often. And that was just that if I wanted to hammer out a certain section that I personally had trouble with… There was no way to do that. It would be nice if you could work on a piece, and narrow in on just a section you wanted to work on. And not the sections they choose. And that you could do it as slow or as fast as you wanted until you got it. And not have to listen to them play it (you would see if you were correct, because of the read notes or of moving forward).Version: 2.28.2

FlowKey’s for me!I’m so happy! I’ve rediscovered my motivation to learn to play piano. I’ve been trying off and on for 50 years and while I still have a very long way to go, I think this time I’m going to get there. FlowKey has the songs and music I really want to learn. This is the motivation I’ve needed. And the user interface is so simple and easy to use. I’ve only been using it for 2 weeks, but now that first thing I do when I wake is practice piano, because I want to. I never thought I could find the time, but now I do! Thank you! I could go on, but just give it a try. Phil Francis Fitzroy North Australia.Version: 2.51.0

Can you help?I am a beginner. When playing with two hands ‘Ode to Joy’ it necessitates holding the left hand key down while playing four notes with the right BUT. The flowkey piano will not follow my playing unless I virtually immediately release the left key. I am playing the correct notes. Very frustrating for a beginner My daughter who also downloaded your app has experienced the same issue. But not with the same piece. I have deleted and reloaded the app I am playing on a key board as is my daughter. Her’s brand new Can you help? I have not tried.Version: 2.23.2

A great way to learn to playI’ve always wanted to learn to play the piano and this app is great. It’s starts off slowly and builds on what you have learnt (I’ve subscribed to get more/longer lessons). I have found that it has trouble sometimes picking up notes especially when playing chords and notes together, so I bought a usb cable to connect my Roland digital piano to my iPad(via an iPad camera connector). Since using the cable it’s picked up every note perfectly. I look forward to my 30 minute lesson every day!.Version: 2.6.2

If you’re looking for “the app to learn piano” -Congrats! You just found it. Yeyyy(...and now feel free to go ahead and share some $$ to good hardworking people who made this beauty. They deserve it and I’m sure you gonna love it! 😉) Last year, for the reasons which I still don’t exactly know, I suddenly decided that I want to learn to play piano. Somehow I kidda figured that ”nothing difficult here and I don’t need a teacher”, so I went researching web. Few months later “the theory basics” were mostly covered, but next then next logically following question came up “Well, that’s all great, now I know it and what do I suppose to do with all of that now??” So the point I’m trying to make here is: If I wouldn’t accidentally found this app I’d probably still be “mastering to play scales” or just simply gave up on all of this “piano nonsense” and would have missed the whole FUN I’m having now..Version: 2.16.0

Prefer purchasing songs than subscriptionI am an experienced piano player and I prefer this app to the others, however I wish I can buy the songs I want rather than a monthly subscription..Version: 2.16.0

Tentative 4 StarsI give this app a tentative 4 stars. I tried Flowkey and another piano app together for the 7 day trial and found that, overall, Flowkey worked better for me. I played an instrument in grade school and had unsuccessful private piano lessons as a kid and was definitely in need of a refresher on reading music. I think this app does a nice job introducing the elements of reading music (though I do sort of wish there was a written element where a note would appear and you had to name it by letter, like a written pop quiz) It also allows you to practice a piece as needed before moving on. Another small gripe is how many times you have to push play or OK to start the activity. I wish this could be a voice command so that you can get your hands situated and then say “OK” to start the exercise. My tentative 4 stars is based on the fact that shortly after starting to play more than one note at a time, the app has a hard time determining if you are playing the correct note. This make practicing extremely frustrating having to play the same note many, many times until it hears it correctly to move on, ruining any flow you had going and making it hard to actually learn a piece of music. I have a cable coming so that I can plug my iPad into my keyboard and hope this improves the experience. If this works, it will solidify my 4 stars..Version: 2.27.0

Needs updated to become Piano TeacherI got 6 months free with a new Yamaha keyboard. Like everyone else I struggled with the microphone interface and eventually gulped and bought the Apple camera connector (£50) and used the MIDI interface with my iPAD. Even then you need lots of broadband bandwidth and a powerful iPad. It then works brilliantly but it’s expensive. I’m a complete novice and think Flowkey is an excellent App but it needs enhanced. The courses are unstructured, overlapping and tedious. Flowkey could become a virtual piano teacher but it needs to feedback views of your performance, set targets and not let you move on until you have passed an exam. I think a premium subscription would only be worth it if the courses are completely rewritten. Otherwise it’s an expensive sheet music app. I asked Flowkey if they had plans for a real update but no response. Good app, probably the best around but very pricey and is missing a market opportunity..Version: 2.20.0

Get a MIDI cableCan only say great things about this App. To counter some of the poor reviews: If you want to learn piano (or dust off cobwebs), the cost of lessons are no match to this app. £100+ a year, comes down to under £10 a month. Good luck getting that for 30 minutes with an instructor... Get a MIDI cable to USB-C and all the ‘sound not picking up’ issues are moot. If you are learning the piano, it should be part of your ‘starter kit’ (if you don’t have a Digital Piano, disregard) Anyways, Good and Bad below. Good: The library is extensive and good coverage of easy and complicated songs Intuitive function (with MIDI Cable and iPad), easy to follow and the loop feature!! Makes it so easy to repeat and learn Bad: Changing of sheet music with no indication/warning. I’ve been more than ⅔ along on a song, and all of a sudden all the notes and order changes.Version: 2.28.1

Very good app!!I recommend that everyone who wants to play piano download this app!!.Version: 2.41.0

Honest to god life affirming !!!!!I never leave reviews so i really mean this. i’m 23 and grew up playing piano and adoring it with a burning passion but had overall negative experiences in lessons because i played by ear and had a difficult time comprehending written music. i never progressed beyond a level 3 or whatever until i was 20-21, although i never went longer than a week without working in an hour at the piano even in the hardest times. the format of this app is EXACTLY what i needed to bridge the gap between my written music comprehension issues and my natural ear. the music selection is legit, and the instructional videos are ASMR if nothing else. it’s a little steep, but if you’re wanting to really throw yourself into learning piano and you’ve been at a standstill and are willing to throw some cash at it, i would absolutely recommend this app..Version: 2.25.0

This app is amazingly simpleThis app offers an in depth course from all degrees of learning from beginner to expert, i have been able to play a couple of songs per day using this app very simple and straight forward, makes absorbing all of the information needed so fun and easy! I look forward to using this app for a very long time and have recommended to a lot of people interested in learning piano, thanks again!.Version: 2.0.3

Definitely Recommend! This is an AWESOME app! I would definitely recommend to anyone who plays piano and loves it! I also love that there are four different levels of difficulty:Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Pro. I got the full version during the New Years sale and I have been enjoying it ever since! One thing tho...I had a piano that was out of tune, so It couldn’t detect which notes I was playing and I had to get a keyboard...is there a solution for that? Other than that, absolutely LOVE this app! Edit: Just wanted to say you guys did a great job making this app and I think every piano lover should have it!.Version: 2.22.1

App is great except for a few bugsAs an absolute beginner this App is great. My only complaint is that the function where the app waits for you to hit the correct note is troublesome when the app doesn’t hear the correct note even when you play it. For me it seems to hate the notes of E and F, whenever I get to these notes I have to repeat a few times before the app moves on (no matter the volume). Other than that, I have found the app very useful.Version: 2.13.1

Français?Vous annoncez en français et pourtant seule la publicité est en français 😓.Version: 2.4.1

Love itI’ve been practicing with this almost every day for an hour for a month or so, and I’ve learned so much, and am enjoying it! I always look forward to practicing and love that I can learn independently and at my chosen pace! The note recognition is pretty good (I have a baby grand), but there are a few keys that I think are out of tune enough and it struggles to recognize them quickly, so that can be a bit of a hold up. I also wish they had put the classes in a better prescribed order, because the beginner to intermediate lessons are back to back and a pretty big jump in skill level. I should have practiced the scales and maybe chords before intermediate. Oh well. I also wish there was more basic note reading practice, but it does come with time. Only reasons I’m not giving 5 stars. But, I’m really enjoying learning piano alone and from the comfort of my home!! Love!.Version: 2.64.0

Nearly perfectIt’s a great App and i download it after not connecting with Skoove. Overall, I’m enjoying it and took out a subscription. It would be great to see a couple of features in the future: 1. Less App interaction, as in less pressing next or play, i want to keep my hands on the piano more. 2. Instead of just a green tick, show something like a gold star if you hit the note perfectly and in time. The green ticks can be false positives if you hit 3 notes before the right one or your timing is off. 3. The courses don’t seem in order of complexity. Sometimes it feels more advanced then it goes back to being easier. Other than that, i recommend trying the App, for me this one works and i spend a good hour practising every day and in a week I’m feeling more confident..Version: 2.21.1

More songsI signed up for a free month trial and forgot to end it resulting in a years subscription. At first I was upset but I decided to make the most of it and learn to play. I love the way this app teaches you to read and play music but I would really love to see more trending songs. Otherwise I definitely recommend this app! I would love to see some improvement tho!.Version: 2.28.2

Absolutely fantasticI am a beginner at keyboard and looked at several other tutorial lessons and this is by far the easiest in just a days. I’m actually quite pleased. I am making progress. Hoping to soon sign up for full membership. I would highly recommend.Version: 2.57.1

Easy to useEasy to use.Version: 2.43.1

Good for learning, not for playingI just got myself a month subscription and I am looking to go get a year plan at the end of the month. I have confidently learned two songs but I get head aches from straining my eyes on my phone and concentrating on playing. I really like the app but if there was an option to print out sheet music would really help when going back and playing older songs after you have taught it to yourself. Cheers a really good app though.Version: 2.26.1

Slow feedback; can’t print sheet musicThere is very little instruction and answers to simple questions take 1-3 weeks. Would like to print sheet music to write notes on as this is my learning style. Faster feedback and access to printable sheet music PDFs for songs played would be better..Version: 2.23.2

Enjoying it but would like more…I’m enjoying the app, being new to piano it’s been a fun way to learn and the interface is clean and easy to use. More adult friendly than piano simple in my view. The things I would like to see added is an inbuilt metronome as timing is obviously important when practicing and I have to go out of the app and put this on a seperate app to practice. Also the ability to add seperate profiles so family members can use the app without paying for another Subscription would be nice. I would also like the option to buy a lifetime licence. Thanks.Version: 2.34.0

Four starsI have been practicing here for a few months now. Its great for practicing. I am a self learner. The only issue I have is when you have the song on the self play as you go along the keys tend to stick and you have to hit it hard to make it move. Sort of annoying. Especially when you are hitting the right notes. Other than that I love playing here. Its giving me lots of practice with the advanced notes. Something I need to work on. Besides my issue, I would give it five stars. I too started with Simply Piano. I finished the course there. I am still with them because they have sheet music at my level. Flowkey has really opened the doors for me. Its giving me the opportunity to advance on my own pace. I love the challenge..Version: 2.46.0

Very pleasedDownloaded app as part of trial from Yamaha. Had issues with some of the lessons stopping and they appeared not to be picking up notes. Contacted Flowkey and they responded within 24 hours. Pleased to say seems issue to have been solved. Will now be happy to continue with subscription. Great learning tool with lots of rewards so can see progress and this makes me want to learn..Version: 2.57.1

Love the appPlease add full lyrics to all song versions. Please add a full page view where we can view the whole song if we want we can see where we are in the song. Please add more songs :).Version: 2.64.0

Love my csp-170 and flowkey nice addition.I bought a Yamaha CSP-170 one year ago. Started using flow key with free into offer. I have upgraded to premium last year after free intro and agin for another year. While the app is pretty expensive I have been using it every day. It does work very well with my piano and my playing has really improved over the past year. Now with virus stay at home, I will be using it even more. I suggest trying it and seeing how you like it then if you do upgrade to premium. Sometime I just like to play songs on my iPad and watch how they are played. It had enabled mr to play harder songs that I could have without the app. I love love the live wait mode aspect. I noticed some one else not liking it. It works very well on my Yamaha CSP-170 plugged in thru USB port. I my Yamaha per-125 on a camping trip in my motor home. That didn’t work as well because it is too old to plug in thru usb. Have to use microphone function to “hear” the mores I played. It will miss hear some notes and slow down my playing but plugged it works very well..Version: 2.23.0

Good just needs a few thingsI’ve had this app for a year now. It has plenty to keep me engaged. I started with a basic knowledge of treble clef and reading music from playing sax. A few things I wish this app had: 1. It makes you take your hands off the keyboard to touch the iPad to advance to the next lesson or part to be learned. That is a pain. They should just make you push a piano key to move on. 2. Needs a way to highlight measures you have trouble with and a way to write in accidentals or notes to yourself (like you could do if using paper music). 3. I would like to see a song that I have learned just static, like a piece of sheet music. Instead it always has the music measures scrolling like a video game and I don’t think that function can be turned off. So is it worth the $? Yeah, I guess so. It is fun. It’s at least a ton cheaper than private lessons however for someone not very gifted like myself I think I’d still need real piano lessons to actually be able to play piano..Version: 2.34.1

Great resource for intermediate and advanced playersI recently purchased flowkey and am thoroughly enjoying it. It has a vast selection of songs at a level that suits me. I love that you can adjust the size of the sheet music in proportion to the video and I personally find it helpful in developing my music reading. But I guess that depends on how the player chooses to use the app, I force myself to look at the sheet music and only use the video to learn the fingering. The only thing that would make this app 5stars for me would be the ability to print the sheet music which would avoid having to scroll to the the bit I want to practice each time. Thanks Flowkey, great app!.Version: 2.21.0

Great learning systemThis app has excellent visuals, clear instructions and well thought through lessons. I have not played the piano or learned to read music before and this program caters well for beginners like me. What I like about this program is that you can revisit lessons to get more practice and focus on areas that pose a challenge. I very much like the way that the video clearly shows where the hand is placed as music is played and the ability to scroll in time through a piece of music. I have only scratched the surface of this app and I am confident that Flowkeys will be my go to music bible in years to come..Version: 2.8.1

Amazing appI haven’t played the piano for thirty years and within two days of using the app I’m already able to play two songs with both hands (beginner mode!). Having the feature of practicing left/right/both hands along with a wait option is really useful. As is the ability to just focus on a chosen section of music..Version: 2.43.1

Love this app. Just one requestAfter a couple decades of not playing, and previously having reached barely an intermediate level at best, I’m finally back at it and progressing thanks to this app. I have just one request: Please add an option in wait mode for the songs (not necessarily in the lessons but in the song selections) where the letters of the keys played are not displayed. I’m really trying to work on sight reading, and inevitably I find myself glancing up at the letters of the keys when I’m learning songs in wait mode. They’re impossible to ignore. I’m learning the songs quickly and ultimately memorizing them, but it’s not helping my sight reading and I feel like I’m cheating myself. Otherwise, I’m thrilled that I Flowkey has made it possible for me to bring piano playing back into my life. Thank you!!.Version: 2.45.0

Excellent app to get you startedI really enjoyed using flowkey as a beginner. Lots of really nice to play, straightforward songs to get you on your journey. Even better when you link up your device to your keyboard to get feedback Also excellent customer service when I had an account issue. Thanks so much Gabriele! Would recommend!.Version: 2.63.0

Good enough for startingI started flowkey at age 61 just to be able to play a few Christmas songs for my family. In the first year I was able to play (good enough) 5 tunes. I had already learned the treble clef notes from playing Scottish highland bagpipes and the Irish whistle prior to flowkey. Flowkey does have one shortcoming: You learn to read out the music in one continuous line, but that is not how music is written. Because of this one continuous line you cannot see the pattern by which most (all) music is written. After 3 years of flowkey I am switching to ‘piano marvel’ because it will address this issue. With flowkey I was able to entertain my family and learn to play. I definitely recommend the flowkey ‘app’. At the beginner level flowkey is the best ‘app’ to start with.Version: 2.67.0

My sister and mom love it, but...Edit, I realize that I wrote this when I was near drunk-levels of sleep-deprived, but I still think that it’s criminal that the Celeste soundtrack isn’t available. It already has a full piano album and translates so well to piano! Alright, this service works well and taught my sister how to play the piano. My only gripe is pretty niche, and it’s that the game music section is a bit sparse. It was the Celeste game soundtrack by Lena Raine that got me to love piano music. The soundtrack has a piano album and would make a wonderful addition to Flowkey’s library. Some of them would make great songs for beginners, but would be enjoyable to learn for anyone. Personally, I find it difficult to keep working at learning a skill as a personal long term goal, and piano is no exception; however I know that these songs would keep mine and others’ interest. I reiterate, this app works wonderfully and already has a large library of songs, but I personally have a harder time due to music preference..Version: 2.26.1

Song Suggestion Forum!Flowkey is very good! Is there a forum or place that we can suggest new song tutorials for you guys? Flowkey has many amazing and fun songs to learn, however, there are many iconic songs that I’d love to hear and learn. Such as the Mii Channel theme, Jaws Theme, Glen Miller In The Mood etc. That would be great!.Version: 2.15.1

Great application to learn pianoLove this application.Version: 2.64.0

David Bowie writes...Ahem, by that I’m not being immodest, it’s just that I am an Absolute Beginner... Starting out at age 48 to play the piano with no musical ability whatsoever, I heard about Flowkey and thought it might be what I needed. It gets you up-and-running in no time, and building up competence/confidence in equal measure. Two days in, with about 30 mins a day, and I’m having a reasonable stab at a Beethoven number over a few bars; this is the type of learning I need. I know I have to be patient and diligent, and this app helps with both, although I feel it tries to push you on to continuing a little before it should, and when more consolidation might be in order. That’s it for now; will update this review when I’ve done a bit more. Oh, why not 5 stars? I feel I’m learning more by ‘feel’ than by knowledge, and I don’t know which notes I’m playing/reading as yet, although a breakthrough might be about to happen....Version: 2.23.3

First saying usingI have tried many piano apps, some use the lay out where the notes are falling, like Synthesia, while I think that’s great, traditional music playing is done by site reading, this app is incredible, it shows SOMEONE PLAYING the song in real time, highlighted notes, in REAL TIME with the music, that in its self is incredible, I have been looking for something like this, I was using just sheet music before this and wasn’t learning fast enough, I learned half a song today, I have not even talked about the wait mode, which listens to you play, and won’t progress until you play the right note, so helpful, incredible, and the looping system, this is almost everything you could want from a piano app, not to mention it has lessons for music, this is what I’m suggesting to anyone who wants to play piano, I just have to ask why this wasn’t in my life sooner.Version: 2.45.0

Review i guessI have been doing music for over 3 years with my teacher but with quarantine I had to stop and I kind of forgot everything. Then my mom found this app and I play my piano every day know. I am extremely happy! My mom never played the piano but when she started to play the moonlight sonata of of the professional stage I was really surprised. Anyway this app is amazing. Total recommend.:).Version: 2.29.0

Flowkey is better than simplypianoUnlike simplypiano, flowkey gives you time to memorise and play the keys and I learnt a song that my dad really likes and 10\10 learning app.Version: 2.53.0

Needs an option to remove handsIt’s a really good app and I pay for a member ship because it is amazing for sight reading and if ur in lockdown cuz of civic it is amazing, as you don’t need a teacher as much. Although if you are using it to sight read it can get annoying as I catch my self looking at the hands for help instead of trying to read the music. It would so much better if there was a seething to remove them or turn it in to a big sheet of piano music. All in all thou would 100% recommend x.Version: 2.23.1

Confused - minor scales no raised 7th??So far I’m loving the app for playing pieces and getting back into piano. I played for years as a child but lost touch with it. I was going through the scales lessons to brush up and noticed that they teach minor scales without the raised 7th??! Very odd! A harmonic minor scale is much more commonly used than a narural minor scale. Seems like a very odd choice.Version: 2.34.2

Good app but..This is an amazing app, I totally recommend for all piano players. However, the courses in the app are not in order, please make the difficulty of the courses in order so it’s so much easier to understand. On the side note, flowkey teaches you lots of music theory and definitely encourages you to play! Highly recommend. But please fix the issue just to make everything easier. ❤️.Version: 2.21.0

Best piano gameThis piano game teach me a lot about piano it is super good. You have to try it for yourself if you want to learn piano..Version: 2.60.0
