FINAL FANTASY VII for Positive User Reviews

Better than you’d thinkThis have never crashed on my phone, i can minimize it to do other things including check online for a walkthrough. I thought when i bought this that the controls might be janky but the truth is that they are very smooth. The game even lets you choose between joystick styles. The game allows you to turn off random battles if you like which i enjoy to save time when revisiting lower level areas that really have no impact on my overall play through. Also, the game will let you skip level grinding all together and allow you to max out all your characters and money at once. I don’t recommend that unless you just want to play through for the mini games and storyline. However for some players that’s a valuable time saving feature. This is a fantastic game and my favorite from the series. Well worth having it on your phone. No ads or anything since you’re buying the game outright..Version: 1.0.5

Needs wide screen on iPhoneThis game was my childhood! So happy to have it on the iPhone and definitely worth the £12. The only thing that stopped me giving it 5 star was wide screen not being supported on the iPhone and having to play with 2 blue bars down either side of the screen. Other than that, it's probably the best £12 I ever spent!.Version: 1.0.5

Fantasniche and überGreat port of the classic hit RPG. Love playing on my iPad on the go or in bed. Runs well even on old iPad 3 from 2012. Anyone complaining about it being slow must have older iPads or devices. Well done square next bring chrono cross to mobile please..Version: 1.0.5

Still one of the greats!Yes the ports not great, but it doesn't deter at all from the gameplay of this amazing game. Having played this so many years ago and playing it now you realise what a great game this is. The story, the gameplay, the characters, the atmosphere all still hold up after so many years. Very few games hold true value and depth and this will always be one of the groundbreaking and innovative games of this genre. Am glad to revisit FF7 after so many years!.Version: 1.0.5

Great port to the iOSI had this game back in 97 when it first came out on the ps1. It is a very well done clone over to a portable device. For those of you having problems with the auto save, or any other problems, read the info in the game itself. Before you start the game there is a ? Box that you can click on at the main menu. It explains that auto save occurs on the world map and saves when going in and out of battles, towns too, but only on the world map. I would have given this game 5 stars, but the touch controls on the left side of the screen seem off from their locations on the phone..Version: 1.0.5

Excellent ConversionThis game runs perfectly on your iPhone. Not a single loading screen or alteration to the game. It's EXACTLY as I remembered it. There is a slight issue with initial lagging when u enter the world view. However if you go to character menu and then return to the world map the lagging stops. This is the only tiny flaw in an absolutely epic port of a Gaming classic. Highly recommended,.Version: 1.0.5

Finally take my money square EnixCan play on iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6+ Perfect if your complaining about the game how about you log out and retry nothing wrong with if anything. I went out and came back a few hours later and stil where it left of. Also you upload your data if you wanna play on phone instead of iPad use your iCloud.Version: 1.0.0

Needs quicksaveBeautiful app. Loving it but really needs a quicksave option or when locking my phone for a bit it needs to quicksave so when I come back I'm still where I was, also when you leave the app and return to it and it flips the screen it'll shut down 2/5 times. Very annoying please fix.Version: 1.0.5

Amazing classic playable on the goYes this port has minor flaws. Yes the controls are a bit odd and we all wished for a true touch capable port. Yes it looks old. But people need to remember this game was made in 1997. This game has aged terribly, BUT the story has not. Do yourself the favour and join Cloud and his gang for a 40+ hour adventure. I do recommend playing on an iPad, but iPhone is doable with the on screen controls. I found the odd time sound effects cut out and only music plays, find a save spot and restart the app and you’re good to go. For the ones complaining about tough mini games due to controls, utilize the fact you have options for analog or digital touch pad. That will solve your problems I promise. Long story short, buy this game with the knowledge that it is old and just sit back and enjoy the insanely detailed lore and world that square built for us. You won’t regret it..Version: 1.0.5

Great Port! Includes original PS1 music!Amazing port. The menu is even a bit smoother than the original and yes, it does include the Original PS1 score from Uemateu, not the MIDI score from the PC port. The controls are fine, just make sure you’re in analog mode so you have a full 360 degree axis of rotation. There also is a ‘Walk’ button but it must be held down in order for it to work, so I assume the Junon parade will be a bit difficult. Only downside is the bottom half inch or so of the screen has the ‘Encounters On/Off’ and ‘Analog/Digital’ quick buttons on it the ENTIRE game (besides cutscenes). I’d much prefer to have these under the ‘Config’ section of the in-game menu, as I doubt people will constantly wanting to be changing these options. Other than that, this feels great and brings back many memories and I plan on doing another 100% run while I patiently wait for the fabled Remake..Version: 1.0.5

Brought back memoriesIncredible switch across to IOS! Runs smoothly and a joy to play which offers hour upon hours of gameplay! Brought back a lot memory’s!! Now remaster FFVIII!.Version: 1.0.5

Great PortThis is a port of the PC version. Graphics are still what the were on the PS1 but slightly smoother. Controls are just fine for it and work really well. The auto save for when you enter a new area/world map is awesome if your phone dies or you accidentally close the app while its in the background. If you liked PS1 era RPG's, Final Fantasy games, or were a fan of this from before it's a must buy. The auto max level booster is great if you have beaten the game before and just want to experience the story gain. However this does not affect materia so you will still need to level that up. All in all a great port. I gave it 4 stars because as others noted it slows down on the World Map after you move for more than 5 seconds. This is fixed by quickly entering the menu and exiting quick. But you shouldn't have to do that..Version: 1.0.5

Hit right in the feelsBrings me back to my year 7 school days where I'd have 12 hour phone conversations with my best friend while we'd both play FFVII. I put hours in to this game and it's by far my favourite story from the whole FF collection. Plays exactly like it did on PS1. dpad selection for the battle scenes and menus is not an issue (despite what people have said). Don't remember Cloud ever running that fast outside the battle scenes but it's fine. Can't wait to relive this. Best app ever!.Version: 1.0.5

Tiny bit buggy, but still a great game.Played on iPhone SE. As some of the other reviews have listed, there are some bugs with this port, but they are manageable for the most part. I completed the game doing most of what was available and here are some of the issues I experienced: * Stuck in Aeris house - you run by default and the walk button works fine, did not get stuck on my play through. * frame drop on world map - going to the menu resolves this issue for the most part. Issue is most prominent when in the airship. You may have to slow down to let parts of the map load in. * music restarting between battles - no idea if there’s a fix for this. Gets a bit annoying. * game crashing/pausing and unable to unpause - I didn’t run into this issue in my play through at all. * snowboarding tree glitch - During the snowboarding sequence on disc 2, through any area with trees that you snowboard through, the trees will glitch a lot making it quite difficult to see what is happening. The glitching stops after the area or you crash into a tree. I didn’t try most of the games in the gold saucer, so I am unaware if the same issue occurs in the snowboarding mini game. * no music without headphones - if you don’t have headphones plugged in, your phone will not produce any of game sounds. Didn’t test Bluetooth attached speaker/headphones, but don’t see why they wouldn’t work. *controller overlay - some people have complained about this, but I enjoyed this for the most part. It felt close to playing on ps1, which is when I played this game last. There were times where I would push the wrong parts of the screen (due to no tactical feedback) and found it a little difficult at times controlling the vehicles/chocobo. You can toggle the controls between “analog stick” and “d-pad”. The overlay also changes depending on what you’re doing. For example, during the chocobo racing, you will get a different layout and even some buttons combined. This sounds a bit annoying, but worked well. * a lot of save slots - this was great! There are ten lots of fifteen slot “memory cards”, leaving you with a lot of opportunity to have multiple save files. Ended up having about twenty different saves at different points in the game and still have plenty more if I do plan on doing another play through. * enemy encounter toggle - you can toggle between enemy encounters being on and off. Handy for when you want to get through an area quickly. * in game speed multiplier - this function is not available in this version. You’ll have to play the PS4 version for this. * max stats - this function however is. Accessible through the in game menu “config/options” option. Located at the bottom. Overall, I enjoyed my experience playing this game wherever I wanted - something that would’ve blown my mind when I was younger. Again, there are issues with this version of the game, but they aren’t too major for the most part. Hope you enjoy your play through as much as I did and you find my review helpful..Version: 1.0.5

Still a great game, even on mobile!FF7 is a classic. My favorite of the series but only by a small margin. Holds up so well even on mobile. The controls take some getting used to but after a few minutes you get used to it and forget the buttons are overlayed on the screen. The max stats and encounter toggle are great additions for new players who may not like the difficulty or something or existing players just looking to have some fun. Or for anyone who just wants to take in the story. The only problems I notice are that with the iPhone X/Xs the black bars on the side make it a little uncomfortable to reach the movement controls. Particularly if you are using the Analog stick option. It’s easy to drag your finger off the playable area and lose control. Reaching further into the screen helps of course but can be uncomfortable for some hands. It’s still the classic I know, love, and have beaten several times over..Version: 1.0.5

Good enoughOpen-Map is slow, at least I got to finish the game.Version: 1.0.5

Please update the music resetting after every encounter! The game is good, but the music resetting after every encounter or entering and leaving a town is killing me. It also messes up the cgi scenes later in the game, as they play a certain way on the original. This also may be a reach, but change the max stats settings! Or give us an option to only max stats and not give us all the limit breaks also, as an example. I would rate it higher, but these are kind of messing up the flow of the game, especially the music. You can’t even hear the entire songs..Version: 1.0.5

Rafdog50 is WrongFirst off, there was no auto saving mechanic in the original. Doubt he actually played the ps1 version. Auto saving in fact would make it too easy. It’s apart of the game to save where you are able to get to. Pretty much every final fantasy game. Game is great. Story is very well written with points very well connected. Gameplay is great. Of course playing on mobile port, you have little annoyances such as the layout and small bugs here and there. Otherwise, this game is perfect in every way..Version: 1.0.5

AwesomeIt’s exactly like the ps1 version, very happy with this purchase. Thanks!.Version: 1.0.5

NiceI give this a 5.Version: 1.0.5

AwesomeReally nice to play this game again, and the port is pretty good, no issues so far..Version: 1.0.5

Ok but buggyDon't talk to the item guy in Corel. You can't leave the conversation. And the world area is laggy. The controls are real twitchy hard for precise movements other than that, I'm in love again lol. Thanks squeenix.Version: 1.0.0

AmazingI love this game with a passion. Works perfectly on IOS on my iPad, played twice through can do everything that I remember on the PlayStation and PS4 ! One of my favourite games of all time..Version: 1.0.5

More control options, perfect otherwiseThis has been a dream come true, to have one of my favorite games of all time on the devices I always have with me. Speaking of those devices, iPad pro with its accessories are another device. I would love to see support for controls on the keyboard. This would be a perfect opportunity to port keyboard controls to the iOS versions. Lots of people use keyboards a lot with their iPads and now more so with the pro. Add support for keyboard navigation as an option and this would be perfect. That goes for all FF games!.Version: 1.0.5

People are too quick to judge and call it bad!I’m not really sure what people are complaining about. People seem really quick to judge this game as a bad port for dumb reasons; like just because the controls are in one spot and things aren’t really touch screen. Y’all seem to forget the real Final Fantasy VII was never touch screen right? For the person complaining that you can’t sneak...you’re supposed to hold B and walk and you’ll end up walking slow. As you were told to do right in the beginning where you get to name Barett. In that part where you have to sneak out of Aeris’s house, hold down B and start walking by taking pretty well one quick step at a time. Even down the stairs like that as well or you’ll be caught. Anyway, I haven’t had the game crash or freeze on me either. I’m assuming that’s a device problem and not a problem based on this being a “bad port”. The only thing I notice is that I get a black screen for about 2 or 3 seconds after every battle i get into while out exploring the world (not in town, only while out of towns exploring the world) and that’s hardly even an issue honestly. Definitely no gonna revoke a star in my rating due to that. The controls are easy to adapt to but maybe that’s just cuz I’m on a giant iPad Air. I guess I could see how trying to play this on an iPhone would be rough with all the buttons overlaid on top of everything all the time. But still. In my opinion this is a solid game and solid port. I have no complaints and would always recommend buying this one. It takes up a fair bit of room though so make sure you have enough room on your device before choosing to buy and install. Hope you all enjoy this beauty as much as I do! <3 :).Version: 1.0.5

I know how to fix pause glitchThe only way to fix the pause glitch is to activate the text menu during battle and leaving it on. U do so by pressing select in battle. Peae.Version: 1.0.3

For those stuck at aeris houseGreat port, running on my 6 plus no probs. although it needs a quit to main menu option. Also an option to Save anywhere is needed, or a way to permanently suspend the app, as I've left the phone for a little while to come back and find the game at the main menu. For those stuck at Aeris house, it's not a bug jeez. Change your D-pad to the directional buttons, and just push one at a time, in short intervals, till you get across. It's not that hard.Version: 1.0.0

Must buy!I must say that I didn’t have the highest hopes going into this, because this was my first final fantasy, and first jrpg. The only reason I decided to play it was because I had an itunes gift card. After beating this game, this has become my favorite game ever. The graphics in the cinematics look great, but not in gameplay. The battle system is near perfect, and the story is the best I have ever seen. I loved it so much in fact, that I am going to play all the other final fantasy games. A phenomenal game..Version: 1.0.5

WARNINGI love this game. But be careful on the gelinka my 4x cut turned to a slash all I could not change it at all something is broke.Version: 1.0.5

My favouriteThis is my all time favourite game bought onto the iPad, it's perfect, exactly as it was. Well worth playing, the story and characters are amazing and the music is legendary. Cannot recommend enough!.Version: 1.0.5

Working fine but..This port is good. The zones transition time is quicker and the tactile controls are smooth. My only concern is the weird intermittent slowness that can trigger when travel on the world map. I would also like to be able to change video settings like the screen resolution for full screen. This should be possible to patch these.. what is the ETA? Don’t be lazy and fix it. This is FFVII and deserve some more attention..Version: 1.0.5

Fantastic release for phoneThis game is perfect for my long commute on public transport. The quality is fantastic and the controls have been ported over very well. Takes me back to childhood. Worth every penny..Version: 1.0.5

ExcellentGraphics could be better though.Version: 1.0.3

AmazingWhen this first came out I stayed up with my girlfriend (now wife and mother of 3 beautiful girls). We went to “Electronics Boutique” which was a great shop then in the city centre of Southampton. We were at university and had some student loans that we were both stupid enough to apply for. We bought that night a PlayStation and a copy of FFVII. We completed it in 100 hours and both totally failed our degrees. This port to the iPad is excellent. Plays just like the original and an outstanding game for the low price it is. Brilliant game and a brilliant port. We both love it......Version: 1.0.5

Battle Arena Special Fights??????I'm a big fun of this game and I have played it a million times and I will carry on. This version of the iOS though doesn't have the special battles in the arena therefore I can't get the final attack materia.... Could you please fix that?????.Version: 1.0.5

Brings me back. This is my all time favorite game from when I was young. I spent hundreds of hours finding all the gear and breeding just the right Chocobo. I'm extremely pleased with the quality of this game. It seems to me the only people playing it are people who didn't grow up playing it like many of us did. I don't see any problems with the controls or the game crashing when I pop out and pop back into the app. I'm really happy that I paid the money to get this game this brings me back to my childhood and I can't imagine not spending hours on end playing this..Version: 1.0.5

FINALLY - THANKS SQUARE ENIX!So the D pad doesn't let you walk diagonally but you can change it to a thumb stick which also allows you to play one handed. Love the little extras such as maxing all your stats from the menu for those who just love the story (although I like to level up myself) so far so good. The best thing to happen all year..Version: 1.0.0

Simply the best! This is mesmerising playing this especially on your phone... Genius whoever came up with the idea. Takes me back to when my dad was playing this and I was still a child watching. Thanks squaresoft before it was square enix. If you bring out 8 I'd be forever grateful to yous. And if yous could also add Legend of dragoon even though yous didn't make it. Inform the creators of that, I mean it when I say I'll be forever grateful. Thanks guys.Version: 1.0.5

Great game except for bug they won't fixGood to get back to playing this masterpiece, however there is a bug that keeps happening where the game freezes and u lose all your progress because you have to restart it, quite hard if you intend on beating late game bosses....Version: 1.0.0

ExcellentJust as great as I remember it. About to try the Kalm side quest before final battle. Controls a bit hard especially on mini games but understandable on the iPhone. VIII next for IOS?!.Version: 1.0.5

Nostalgic and as Perfect as I remember.Simply it is exactly the same as its PS1 compatriot. Graphics, soundtrack and more importantly gameplay; all the same. Needless to say I've been waiting for this moment for many years and I couldn't be happier with it! Thank you Square for bringing this legendary game back!.Version: 1.0.0

Still the Best Game Ever MadeAmazing how a three-disk PlayStation 1 game fits in the palm of your hand..Version: 1.0.5

Dont read bad reviewThis game is awsome !!! just need to adjust control but overall very good RPG for a mobile game ! One of the best ! Love it on my ipad now downloading it on my iphone 😬.Version: 1.0.5

Well done.Version: 1.0.5

Version: 1.0.5

Awesome. Just as I rememberBrilliant. I was so excited that FF7 was finally available for the iPhone. It's awesome and just as I remember. I spent a lot of time on this game in the past, and now I am getting sucked into it. I've been playing now for a few weeks and it's brilliant. The controls work well, the gameplay is smooth. Really good job and highly recommend!.Version: 1.0.5

Final Fantasy FanI just have to say that I grew up playing the final fantasy games and 7 was one of the ones i just loved to play. You guys did such a great job! I can’t thank you enough for making this game on iOS and for letting me relive those childhood memories! I’m always on the go so this is a great way for me to just relax and enjoy the game when I need to take my mind off the world. I just want to say though I really wish you guys can someday soon be able to bring Final Fantasy VIII onto iOS as well! To be able to have both those games would be a Fantasy come true! Thanks again for all you guys have given! *’~Forever A Fan~’*.Version: 1.0.5

Sa coche maisLe seul vrai problème qu il y a ses avec le jeu ses les course de chocobo ses meme pas les bon item qu ils donnent quand on gagne.Version: 1.0.5

Fantastic!!!Ok, I wanted to address some "complaints". Most people who buy this are fans of the playstation format. That said, to my eyes, improvements or upgrades are unwelcome. I, and I suspect many others, bought this for the original experience. I say this because complaints about graphics, gameplay etc is pointless. The original wasn't perfect but we all love it for its uniqueness. To address a small point, slowdown on the map seems to happen when you exit a town or the high wind from cockpit view. If you tap menu button and exit this rights the issue. A small pain but nothing's perfect. Overall I'm extremely happy with the transition onto iPad..Version: 1.0.5

It's 5 Stars but...Don't really expect to find something new or innovative about this port of a port. The reason I'm giving this 5 stars is because I LOVE this game as a whole and the iOS port did nothing to damage that. The controls are smooth, the slightly visual enhancements are noticeable, and it brings with it all of the nostalgia you would expect. The boosters are a nice touch for those who've beaten the game before and would just like a trip down memory lane a few times. DO NOT USE BOOSTERS ON YOUR FIRST PLAY THROUGH!!!! Just experience what the game has to offer if it's your first time..Version: 1.0.5

NostalgiaThis was the 1st game I ever played ( back in Ps1 days) and I loved it. Only thing is that I can't pass the Cpr part in junon as x won't respond, please fix..Version: 1.0.2

Final Fantasy 7 is amazingThe complaints for this game have all been about controls, which makes sense, and auto save features being non existent. The original game didn't have an auto-save feature. You used the world map and the save spots thrown around the world. If you can't remember to save your game like we all remembered back in the day, that's on you. The game isn't gonna hold your baby hand and save for you. Auto-save features for a final fantasy game of this magnitude would destroy all that made this game amazing. Just save on the map or grind for that save point and quit your whining..Version: 1.0.5

Great gameGreat game but it doesn't fill up the whole screen on my I phone 5s can it be fixed.Version: 1.0.5

A classic gone mobileI don't need to say anything about this game, I love it, it's a classic and one of my favourite games I have ever played. Controls are good and can now play it wherever and whenever I want. Not cheap but given how good the game is and how much Nintendo charges for their classics and no one seems to mind I would say it's a fair if not outstandingly good price. The game is worth the price as the quality is enduring and will take a long time to 100% complete. Thanks for releasing on iOS!.Version: 1.0.5

Great gameI was hesitant to purchase originally due to some of the poor reviews however the game control is great although does take some getting used to. I’ve had no problems progressing the game. Easily the best RPG for the PS1 and great to replay it on my phone. I do recommend purchasing when it’s on sale usually around Christmas..Version: 1.0.5

Awesome! The game runs perfectly no glitches or issues with the controls. Glad I made this purchase totally worth it!.Version: 1.0.5

FlawlessGamers are a confused people. Some claim that RPGs are terrible and some claim that Call of Duty Ghosts is an amazing game. Some claim that Shooters are the best genre and some claim that Platformers are. Now when I first got Final Fantasy 7 when I was 11 on a PlayStation that I bought I thought "this game is old and stinks big time". Now keep in mind, I was a stupid idiot kid. Looking at the game now... It's one of the best games I have ever played. It takes you on an adventure as Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and Yuffie strive to save the world from the dreaded Shinra Inc. who care about spreading Mako energy to find the promised land. This adventure makes you feel for every character and it really makes you hate those enemies that you encounter. Due to no voice acting, you have to make up the voices in your head which I actually did and it fits the characters perfectly. Cloud - Kirito (SAO) Tifa - Heather (Total Drama) Barret - Coach (Left 4 Dead 2) Sephiroth - Raspy British Yuffie - Little/Snobby Girl I enjoy this game so much and I am currently almost done with the Disc 1 length of the game. 10/10.Version: 1.0.5

Great blast from the pastHave been waiting for this for a while, great game and lots of mini games also. Works well, not seen any pausing problems myself ( iPad Air).Version: 1.0.2

Can't get out of Aries house!Ultimate game but need to fix the bit when you leave Aries house because you can't sneak out!? Hurry up so I can keep playing!!!.Version: 1.0.0

A must have gameMy favourite game of my youth, and they've done the original prod with this port. Not perfect, but close enough. Please bring out FF8 now, need my gunblade fix..Version: 1.0.5

Best FF story of the lot.The best story of the final fantasy series, although that max stat option is a bit random like a game shark, new generation gamers will never understand and appreciate the game play with that option. Child hood game I never thought we would meet in the App Store, but I'm glad we did :) Just one more thing, why is it so laggy on the world map outside of midgar..Version: 1.0.0

Great port, but...As a hardcore ffvii fan from when it was first released I can appreciate staying true to the core game experience, but playing on a phone is different to playing on a console and I feel as though being able to save at any point would be a very convenient feature for the phone version of the game. I have also experienced game speed issues. An exit to menu option would be handy as well. Glad to finally see the phone version of the game. Didn't think it would arrive so soon..Version: 1.0.0

Amazing but could be better. This game is amazing, however gameplay would be improved if keyboard support was added for the iPad app..Version: 1.0.5

Awesome Port of the ClassicI honestly don't have any idea why people are getting so fed up about the mobile version of ff7. It's actually one of the best ports I've played. Sure it does cost you quite a sum of money and it needs a lot of space but those are the only problems I don't like, and they're not even that big of a problem. The gameplay is just as it was as on the pc and PlayStation version. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone :). P.S The controls are NOT garbage :D.Version: 1.0.5

Awesome need to save at anytime thoughGame works perfectly only thing is it needs to be saved at anytime I was playing then walked away to get a drink the screen saver came on then opened again lost my progress apart from that fantastic.Version: 1.0.0

Still Great TodayI loved FFVII when I was younger, and I'll use this app to get the perfect game. Would like to see an option for double encounters added, which would increase difficulty and would also help to speed up the training grind sessions..Version: 1.0.5

Just like i rememberedGreat job.Version: 1.0.5

Decent portOverall, this is a really good port of one of my all-time favourite games. I haven’t had any crashes or obvious errors. However, the analog stick seems to fight the 8-directional movement. I remember having the same problem to a lesser degree when using an actual controller, but now some screen transitions take you from an up-is-up orientation to an up-is-up/left orientation. A really rough example is in the gold saucer speed square - as you move from the station area into the event area, the orientation shifts so up/left on the analog stick actually takes you downscreen enough exit the area again. Buttons also don’t translate perfectly from the original controls, so expect some trial-and-error or use online guides to figure out the piano or the rocket combinations. Motorcycle escape from Midgar and G-Bike are also about 50% faster in this port. I was never a master at this minigame, but now my high score is 800 (yes, eight hundred, less than two kills worth). If you catch this one on sale, it’s worth the nostalgia value. First time players should pick it up on PSN to really appreciate it without the new quirks..Version: 1.0.5

FinallyI've been waiting for this for so long! Possibly the best thing that has ever happened in history. Thank you!!!.Version: 1.0.0

Awesome gameLove the game, a couple of bugs which annoy still. But 100% playable. Really wish you guys would fix the iCloud saving. It just doesn't work.Version: 1.0.5

Perfect as it can beI do not feel like I wasted a single penny. This was on of my first rpgs outside of Zelda and truly shaped my love for the genre. The game plays exactly like the console they even added a few extras like auto save in world map. I have had no issues with crashing freezing or much lag at all. I have seen a lot of reviews on here complaining about the game not auto saving when you lock your phone. I do not see this as a complaint. If they were to add this is would add a cheat that would allow the player to bypass part of the games challenge which is wrong. I agree it can be frustrating but this is not a casual play game while you gf runs into the store real fast. You need to sit down and treat it like a console game and set real time to play so you can find save points when you can. Overall I have no complaints I love it. I wish this app had 5 stars it deserves it..Version: 1.0.5

Amazing gameWonderful game! Love that I can play on my iPhone & iPad! I wish you guys would also update this to work on the new Apple TV 4K! The cloud sync feature could be a little more automatic from device to device! This is 100% final fantasy VII! Please consider my 2 requests..Version: 1.0.5

Quite buggy - rating based on gameFF7 is one of the best games of all time and to be on the iPad is fantastic. It has its bugs, it ain’t perfect but it’s not bad for a fairly direct port. The rating is based on the game itself not the irritating bugs like resetting the game if the screen is rotated on the final boss. But play it, and play it properly. The graphics aren’t great but it’s the story which does it..Version: 1.0.5

OutstandingBrilliant port and just as I remembered. Currently on a high after beating emerald and ruby weapon after a very long 15 years so maybe my review will be a little swayed. Controls are difficult to adapt to and some of the mini games are hell but all in all they're easy to get used to. The most recent update has sorted some of the controls in this respect. Actual gameplay is spot on and the new graphics during the fight scenes are brilliant. An update including widescreen is very much needed and screen rotation has just been added which was my only other quibble. Worth the money whether your a die hard fan or just fancy something to play but expect to put in a good amount of man hours to get anywhere. Just mastered all materia, beat both weapons and collected the rewards from them in just over 30 hours. Used to take me 60+ as a kid and I never achieved as much!.Version: 1.0.5

As good as the ps versionThis game is awesome and brings back memories to when I played it on the PlayStation. So many reviews about the controls being frustrating, but it's actually not a big deal at all. I use analog mode and it works fine. I would take caution when going from the game app to other apps, especially if not resuming game play asap, because sometimes it triggers the game to reset to the title screen, but just make sure to save before exiting the app and there's nothing to worry about. The only issue I have is a little glitch where, when in the highwind cabin and talking to the pilot to take off, the screen goes black for some time just to bring me back to the same cabin screen, where I'll have to talk to the pilot again...and then it takes me to the map screen where I can fly around. I wonder if this can be fixed with the next update. Awesome game..Version: 1.0.5

Brilliant game, my favourite FinalFantasy 👍Very happy with the game how it works on my phone, definitely the best final fantasy game there is. Just like the PlayStation version from what I remember. Highly recommend this game to anyone who has played it on ps1 or Pc back in the day. Awesome!!!.Version: 1.0.5

IncredibleQuite possibly the greatest game ever made. At least in my opinion. Sure they graphics are dated, but they still hold a unique charm to them, but the soundtrack is as good as ever, one of the best ever in a game. The battle system, materia system, and weapon and armour systems are all fairly straight forward but have an incredible amount of customisation to them if you want to spend the time there to min/max. But the best thing about this game was always the characters and story. Sure it gets confusing, but just go with it as it pays off big time. Can't wait for the remake on the PS4!!.Version: 1.0.5

Great game found an bugFound a bug in the game, It occurred in battle sometimes it go to pause. Not sure how to get out of it so have to restart from where I saved from.. Other then that really good game..Version: 1.0.0

Best game ever for your iPadIt's FF7 just as it was, enough said!! Was brilliant back in 97 and still brilliant now. Makes me feel like a teenager again. Just buy it ;).Version: 1.0.5

Joystick dpadGreat game as always I just don't like how there's no option to change the d pad to analog during battles I'm playing on iPhone 5s and my fingers are to big for dpad so I constantly miss turns so yea other than that it's great and haven encountered any pausing bugs yet.Version: 1.0.2

Currently Downloading/ Already Satisfied.Eleven pounds and Ninety Nine pence. I am 5 star pleased based on off of the price alone. Thank you, Square Enix..Version: 1.0.5

PerfectFor those who facing super fast gameplay problem, open some apps such as safari, appstore and Facebook and let them run background to drain some of RAM and the game should be smooth to play.Version: 1.0.0

Getting faster... sometimesThe latest update made walking on the world map somewhat better. At times I'm running very quickly and then suddenly I'm going at a not quite so quick a pace, though still quicker than it was before the update..Version: 1.0.5

The best of FFSuch a great game to play, especially now I can play it when on the go! Only downside is it doesn’t fit the screen for the iPhone X :( can only hope it receives an update for this! Would make this game perfect!.Version: 1.0.5

Great game. Please add Korean Language as well Hope you guys are well :).Version: 1.0.5

Better than you might thinkThis is a really cool port of literally the entire game. It’s super cool to be able to play it on your phone, and all things considered, it works perfectly. Admittedly, it is rather lazily ported (meaning that little was changed for the mobile version), but that can apply to almost any mobile FF game (Except IX maybe). Overall, it is still a very good game, and I recommend you buy it if you think you can get your money’s worth out of it..Version: 1.0.5

Great game but…As mentioned in the title it’s a great game ive played it on almost every platform it’s come out on and loved it every single time however I just here recently played it on the ps4 and it completely ruined it on any other console and not for the reason you’re thinking it was indeed the original not the sorry excuse of a remake it’s the 3x speed option it makes everything so much easier and much less time consuming so I’d really love if y’all could figure out a way to make that happen if not I’ll still play the game of course I just don’t have much time to sit there and grind away on random battles and the like to max out my materias or build up money and experience so it’ll take a much much longer time so yeah I’d love to see a 3x speed option please.Version: 1.0.5

A Perfect Game To Play With A ControllerThis is a perfect game to play with a controller between your iPad and iPhone when you are on the go. So much content, wonderful story, plenty of replay value (check a guide out after your first run through to see all the stuff you missed). 100+ hours packed into this gem with all the exploration you can do. The only thing it’s missing is achievements. I can’t deduct a star for that though, as this game doesn’t need it. Make your own achievements up if you need them..Version: 1.0.5

Nice...but needs balancingI loved this game the first time that played back in the PS1. I still have the disc.😇 This version is okay-to-certain-point. User beware should you choose the max stats option because you will lose the ability to Limit Break normally, but your attacks will be Limit-Break-like in damage. I guess that’s The Law of Equivalent Exchange at work. If possible, could the developers fix this and make it more balanced like 9? And instead of Max Stats, make it Max Level instead? Or better yet, make it max EXP and AP gain with max gil. But overall, I still like the game..Version: 1.0.5

NiceNice.Version: 1.0.5

SoundLove the game and franchise and square enix is amazing the sound was my issue keep up the good work I love it.Version: 1.0.3

Dream come true! This is my most favouritest game from my childhood, and now i get to replay it at random bordem times of my life.. with the autosave, i dont have to worry about finding a save point! any chance on Final Fantasy 8 coming out aswell??.Version: 1.0.0

Ff7Just how I remember my childhood, except I could unpause on the PlayStation. Randomly pauses and can't be unpause please sort out!!!.Version: 1.0.2

Still the greatest RPG of all timeLove this game, works without any glitches. Great story and continues to be the benchmark for all others to follow..Version: 1.0.5

My new favorite gameWow, just wow, amazing game, it took me nearly forever to beat, but it was so worth it! The bosses, characters, places you could go, fantastic, now I finally see why people call this, "the greatest game ever made" and I'll agree! This took the place of my all time favorite game. Overthrowing Ocarina of time and majora's mask (which were tied for first). My favorite game in the series. Considering it's the only one I've beaten. So many plot twists and side quests, it's a lot to put in one game, but it's so fun! To anybody reading this now or in the future, I really recommend this game. 10 out of 10.Version: 1.0.5

Great Game but Gameplay too fastI can never say anything bad about FF7 after the time I spent playing it as a child. It's a brilliant game however this adaption of it has set the gameplay speed too high. I go to move and I dash across the room. Make an update to reduce the gameplay speed or make it adjustable to preference..Version: 1.0.0

At last!So good to see FF7 finally on iOS. One of my favourite games ever, so as they say, "shut up and take my money!" While the opaque controls work relatively well and are unobtrusive to the gameplay, I do think it was a mistake not to redesign them to suit the touch platform. The touch controls in the iOS version of FF6 are beautiful - why couldn't they do something similar for this? It does make it seem like a lazy copy & paste from the PC version, unfortunately. Gameplay speed is fine for me - comparable to what it was when I used to play on the PlayStation, back in the day. Improve the control system and this'll be five stars..Version: 1.0.0

Still some kinks to work outThe controller interface could use some work. Anyone stuck in Aeris's house, don't try to use the walk button, just run straight past..Version: 1.0.0

First annoying mechanical issueIn Junon, during the marching scene, it is critical that Cloud WALKS in place. Currently, there is no way to turn off 'auto-running', so it is difficult to perform the necessary commands to succeed at the marching mini-game. You constantly run and your score continues to drop until you fail or you have to awkwardly place your fingers on the controls to perform the inputs properly. In other words, it is hard to hold down the B-button to make Cloud walk in place and also input commands to play the marching mini-game. By simply creating a toggle button for run/walk in Config, you can fix this issue or maybe they can come up with some other creative solution..Version: 1.0.5

Bug problemThe game is really great but I'm stuck in a part where I need to walk in Aries house since it doesn't walk no matter how much I hold the "walk" button. I payed for this so please fix it..Version: 1.0.0

What is old is now new (again)What an experience played through the whole game just like the original on my PS1 played pretty flawless yes there is no auto save feature however the original also did not have an auto save feature. The controls could be a bit better but overall my whole game experience was great If you miss playing the FF7 everyone loves but don't want to bust out the dusty playstation look no further this will definitely keep you glued to your phone all day!.Version: 1.0.5

Very nice port bringing me backAs one of the second Final Fantasy games I’ve played growing up! FFVII has won me over instantly I beat the bombing mission! Of course at a younger age I didn’t understand the story much, but wow I did enjoy the active turn base battle! Later on when FFVII was ported to PC I grabbed it and it was great as they kept the graphics as it was. Played through and understood the story. Now that I got my hands on the mobile port(finally had iPhone with enough room) I can enjoy the game on the go! Of course the controls feel a little weird as it’s all over the screen, but as you play on you tend to forget it’s there. The music is great especially using headphones or AirPods! The ability to iCloud save is a great move as now I can continue from iPhone to iPad! I like the auto save BUT it was never in the game before so I will never use it! Cheats will make the game way too simple, no fun, sure you can get the full story quicker but the combat is worth it combine with the story. All in all though this port gave me the chance to play at work...shhhh don’t tell! 11/10 thanks! TL:DR funny this is the first time I used it! So the port is very good with controls that cover the screen making it quite distracting unless you play for 30+ minutes it’s like it not there. Cheat are not worth it and auto save made it too easy. But to include it was great for new players. I give this game 11/10 nostalgia, great story, replay value, and portable!.Version: 1.0.5

Same game that I rememberedRuns really well on the iPhone 13 mini in my opinion; screen can be a little small, but I never had any issues. The only issue I faced was using the d-pad during combat, as sometimes my fat fingers would click on the wrong direction in the heat of battle, which could be quite infuriating; I’m sure on tablets and bigger phones you won’t have this problem as much..Version: 1.0.5

Runs great on XS Max except...Runs pretty great on my XS Max with the ability to stop random battles. The only issue I found was the mini games where you take control seems a bit sped up which causes weird controls. Still I managed to finish the game after all these years!.Version: 1.0.5

Smooth but some issuesSmooth run for the most part. None of the issues others have had, but my game randomly pauses, won't let me unpause so then have to force close the game and resume from last save. Usually before a summon animation. Quite frustrating but always a few kinks to iron out when adapting to iOS.Version: 1.0.0

FANTASTIC!!!Been playing since I was 12! now 30 with two kids. Took over two years to log the 52 hours to completion but certainly worth it. Being unable to have the time to get on the PS1, having it on the phone makes this life long dream of continuing my childhood RPGs. FF7 is inspirational.Version: 1.0.5

Finally!!!Thank you thank you thank you! I have waited so long for this. Only just started playing but everything is running smoothly!.Version: 1.0.0

GreatPerfect so far 👍🏻.Version: 1.0.5

YESSS!!!!!!!Final Fantasy VII has always been my favorite Final Fantasy game and I was really surprised to see that it was available as an app.. and for the WHOLE GAME!!! I was hesitant at first at downloading it because 1) I knew it was going to take up my spare time b/c I'll be playing it all the time, 2) I won't be able to use a full controller, 3) People were complaing about autosaving, and 4) People said that it would freeze in some parts. After playing the game, it seems that they fixed all these problems! The game autosaves on most parts of the game for you, the on screen controls adjust to how you want them to be set up (what do you expect for a full game condensed to an iPhone app), and plus, you'll get used to the controller. The game also has not freezed on me on any parts! The nostalgia! You'll get to experience everything all over again as a kid growing up with this game!!!!!.Version: 1.0.5

Great but very hardThe game is amazing! Probably the best game I ever played! But it is INSANELY HARD. I know you can’t fix it, but it is much harder than other final fantasy games. Other than that, the cutscenes are BEAUTIFUL! (For 1997) I’d much rather prefer retro game styles in games today over HD games. As a kid who has a dad who played through the game as a teen and nearly finished it, I know a lot about this game. My dad even got the GOLD CHOCOBO! He’s almost done already! But anyway, I highly recommend this game to you (If you don’t mind curse words) to anyone really 10+. Trust me once you start playing you’re hooked! (Until you get stuck lol).Version: 1.0.5

Great game but needs fixing.Enjoying the game so far. I've experienced the pause issue like others on here & I'm currently stuck at the excavation site. I can't go up the ladder to get the lunar harp in excavation mode. Please fix as it's pretty frustrating..Version: 1.0.2

A classic game that would benefit further from double speed buttonThe game/story is a classic and gets a five stars from me, but I’d reserve giving 5 stars via this review to this iOS port until the double or triple speed option is added - explained below. Square Enix, I love this port, but three suggestions: 1. Please add double or triple speed for at least battles sections, for those of us who played through the whole game in the past, but still want to work through random battles and strategize against bosses, but don’t’ take have time any more to play with battles at normal speed! The fast speed option is present on the PS4 port already. There are ‘god mode’ and ‘no random battle’ options already, but fast speed would be a welcome addition. 2. Please could the game buttons be customised/changed for those with an MFI pad which want to switch the confirm button to match original PS1 layout. The confirm and back button are reversed from original ps1 layout on mfi pads. 3. There ought to be also be a way to hide by reducing opacity the ‘random battles’ and ‘a/d analogue/d-pad’ toggle buttons which currently cannot be removed from the bottom of the screen. Otherwise this iOS version is superb, particularly with an MFI game pad..Version: 1.0.5

I assume it’s the best final fantasy gameI loved this game of final fantasy it’s the best even tho I couldn’t get the actual story correct still I beaten the whole game and all weapons defeated I always wanted to play this and then I did it I completed the game :) and maybe some of u should try this it maybe hard at first but get more advantages incase if u don’t know where your going go on Y tube and maybe search FF7 walkthrough :/ so ya try this you’ll love it trust me :).Version: 1.0.5

Great Port of FF7 on the GoI just say, making this game accessible on the iPhone must have been no easy task, there are times when the controls feel funky but I've been able to overcome that with repetition after a few tries. For those of you having trouble with the Parade / March for Rufus in Junon I found a trick, switching to d-pad mode and using your middle finger to hold the walk button (b) after you get in line with the soldiers then tapping (a) with your available index finger rapidly will earn you a high tv rating %. Got it on my second try. You have to run down first to get into position but essentially you're just pressing down on the d pad then left. Found this quite simple. ENJOY.Version: 1.0.5

Best game everNo exception to this iPad port. Still easily the most amazing game ever made. No noticeable issues for my iPad Air..Version: 1.0.5

Great game!Everything works so well. Brings back childhood memories :).Version: 1.0.2

A rebuke of poor reviewsI got this because FF VII is one of my favorite games ever. I have only ever bought one game on the app store and it was this game and i loved it. No problems with the game or controls or port at all. I have read several reviews criticizing the lack of an auto save. For those people all i have to say is grow a pair. There was no auto save on the PS1 version of the game. You had to go from save point to save point and not do something stupid like get yourself killed in the process. And if you did die, or you had to leave, that was that. Unless you wanted to risk your PS1 and leave the game and the TV on while you were out of the house. And save points are a dime a dozen and once you are on the world map, you can save any where. So it isnt even an argument. Hell, there is a save point 5 mins into the game. You can always save when ever you need to. So, grab this game. Play it. Grid like there is no tomorrow. Bask in the nostalgia and have a blast playing it over and over again. 😁😁😁.Version: 1.0.5

Simply the best!!!!All the memories come flooding back to when I played it on the PlayStation. Can play it over and over again and never get bored well worth every penny 👍👌.Version: 1.0.5

AMAZINGI have been playing the game for over 30 hours now and I've really enjoyed it there are some issues but all the solutions can be found online :) Im so excited for the new remake coming soon and definitely recommend this app to any fans of final fantasy ! :).Version: 1.0.3

Bring it to Apple TV !!Please could you bring FFVII to Apple TV please ???! That would be awesome to play on my tv screen !!!!.Version: 1.0.5

Bug de songIl n’y pas de son bug.Version: 1.0.5

Absolutely fantastic!Love this game more than anything and have always returned to play it - but beware! If you 'max' your stats using the option, you will be unable to learn final attack due to not being able to use omnislash on cloud, and there's a few other nuances like incredibly low FPS on the world maps sometimes. But aside from all that, this is an absolutely lovely engaging game and is WELL worth the money. Already 40 hours in :).Version: 1.0.3

ClassicI have loved this on so many different consoles, so I wanted it on my phone. I would give 5 stars but I feel to earn that it needs to updated for iPhone X thanks a lot.Version: 1.0.5

Is there a pointIf you aren’t updating final fantasy 9 to make it playable why should we buy any other of your games for money i highly suggest getting them on the switch or some other device they have left me hanging in the middle of my game and i sure as hell can’t start over on another console it would take hours.Version: 1.0.5

Thanks for listening.Thank you for listening and adding the screen rotate, makes it much more enjoyable now. This is a fantastic port with all the charisma and fun from the original at a great price. Will not disappoint and FF or JRPG fan. Well done Square Enix for bringing this to iOS..Version: 1.0.5

FFVII is an all time favourite!FFVII is an all time favourite! I loved it when I young and I still enjoy the series.. with that said; can we get a ‘Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII’ mobile version? It’s a PSP game, but I’d buy it for mobile any day! Thank you for the support! Note: Can we get an update for touch screen on the battle scene?.Version: 1.0.5

So happy with iOS release.Well done for finally porting this over to iOS! Now make it available to tvOS for Apple TV 4 and you guys will be rolling in the money! Win win!!.Version: 1.0.5

Apple TV support and automatic iCloud sync?Any chance for Apple TV support (with MFI controller support) and automatic save data syncing via iCloud? I’d love to see both for all of the Final Fantasy iOS games..Version: 1.0.5

ICloud saves not working - iOS 12.5.7F I N A L F A N T A S Y 7 + Failed to connect to iCloud (for saves) ????? Please bring back other legacy titles!.Version: 1.0.5

Euphoric Recall at its best!!!I first played this game on the PS ONE and was instantly hooked. I was thrilled when I saw it was available for my mobile. The game hasn't disappointed whatsoever. The graphics, characters, gameplay and story are just as I remember. Top notch!!!.Version: 1.0.5

NostalgiaAn update to accomodate aspect ratios of newer iPhones/iPads would be nice before the remake gets released. Otherwise this is a great time machine, if the only time you want to go back to is 1997..Version: 1.0.5

Good, but annoyingPretty average port, based on the latest PC re-release. Another irritating thing is the sound when moving through menus and selecting commands- the sound is echoed or played twice in very close succession. Sounds horrible compared to the original. If you get stuck in Aeris' house - run, don't walk. Counter intuitive but yeah... Still, iCloud saves are a nice addition so can play anywhere on the go..Version: 1.0.0

To MitchMt616...The reason you have no sound if because your ringer muted, just flick the tiny switch and you will have sound.Version: 1.0.5

Re-ignited love for FFFF was my game of choice back in the day (2009!) when I dated someone with a PS...hadn't bothered to replace since then. I thought I'd give it a go on iPad although a bit cautious about whether it would work, be responsive, be as interesting as I found it before. However, it was brilliant, hours and hours of game play (and I've probably missed out a lot of side quests). A little bit unresponsive and can be slow on world map at times, but such a great game, totally value for money and just as good as it was in 2009! Can't recommend it enough..Version: 1.0.5

Need quick save to play to completionOne of my all time favorite RPGs. I have played through this game on consoles more times than I can count. I’ve had the iOS version of FFVII since it was released. Because of real world responsibility I typically don’t have long time slots to play and since there is no quick save, that means I can’t truly make progress in the game. Please add a quick save function similar to other mobile FF games so that those like me who don’t have long periods of free time can play this game to completion, nights of the round and all..Version: 1.0.5

Fantastic App, Needs AppleTVIt’s fantastic to have this port on iPad/iPhone and I am throughly going to enjoy playing this however this desperately needs to offer an AppleTV app as it makes complete sense to play it on the TV like it was designed. Congrats SquareEnix, looking forward to the AppleTV version..Version: 1.0.5

Still excellentPlayed this nearly 30 years ago. Delighted to get it for my iPad. So far, so good. If stuck in Aeris house like I was, hold down B button while moving using the D pad. Obviously cannot compare to PS controller but I think they’ve done a decent job..Version: 1.0.5

Dont listen to the hatersGreat game for reasonable rate on iphone. Exactly like the final fantasy you remember except now in your pocket. The controls take a little time to get used to yes but once you do it like im 9 all over again. Buy this game!.Version: 1.0.5

So.. what did you all expect anyway?Hello everyone! :) I don't see the issues you all are complaining about in this port. What did you expect? A remake of the game for iOS?if you did, then you're really out of touch with technology for having an IPhone or iPad. This is FFVII in all its PS1 glory, which is PERFECT. Yeah we have some issues with moving and camera angles, but you're moving from a controller to everything being done on a touch screen. What did you really expect?? Indicators? Wha? We didn't have those back then why do you need them now? Auto save? We didn't have those in ps1 days, why do we need it now? You save every chance you get, or you strategize when to save. It's a part of the game. This game is 20 years old. I mean it was part of the strategy, look at resident evil, if you run out of ink ribbons you're screwed. So the question is, why did you expect anything different when it says right on there it is a PORT? In the end this IS FFVII in all its glory, with all the bosses and secrets. It is a perfect game. What more do you want?.Version: 1.0.5

Great PortApart from missing touch controls…loved them in the ix port, it’s what you’d expect, ff7 on a phone. Very fun game, and the fact that it wouldn’t close when exiting the app is great, a pause feature like this is perfect when you are on the go..Version: 1.0.5
