Pupil Distance PD Measure for Negative User Reviews

Not sure of the accuracyTook 3 different pictures and got different numbers each time. Measure with measuring tape got 2.5in or 63.5 and got 60.5, 61 and 61.5 with the app. Feel like I wasted $3.00 and still don’t have an answer to my PD..Version: 1.2.7

Keep getting contrasting answersI’m 59.5 every time while the app says 56.5, I have hd enough quality to detect my pupils by hand so I keep getting the same answer but so does the app, kind of hard to trust.Version: 1.3

Too many different readingsToo many different readings none of which matched a prescription. Looked at tutorial several times to check I was doing it correctly _ iPad at arms length etc. Waste of money..Version: 1.3

BogusThe ad for this app says “user friendly”... anything but. Used on iPad and didn’t work... took picture with back of credit card and program just quit. Can I just say fraud..Version: 2.0.1

Just crashesUsing an iPhone 6 Plus, newest system, every time I push the button to take a picture the app simply crashes.Version: 2.0.1

Unable to refundWhen I got this app I thought it was free but it costed 7 bucks so I thought “oh I can just refund it” but I wasn’t able to and that’s why I’m giving this 2 stars I would of given 1 star but I think it’s a good app..Version: 2.0.1

Too muchI bought this app to measure my sons glasses to buy glasses online. His PD consistently comes in at 86. This seemed very large so I checked mine. The app came back with 84. My doctor measured mine at 59. So, I have paid 2.99 for an app that consistently measures my PD to be significantly larger than it actually is. We tried numerous times to measure my self and my son. If I didn’t know and ordered glasses with this I would be out the cost of the glasses. This is seriously not a good app..Version: 1.2.7

Crashes when taking the picCan’t take the required picture without crashing. Useless..Version: 2.0.1

Caution revealing credit card detailsI am just a little wary of people photographing the numbers on the back of their credit cards which you can use to purchase goods on line. Sorry, just wont use it..Version: 1.2

Not worth $4Not very effective, inconsistent, and not accurate. With the same photo I tried it four times and got three different results. It should do more intelligent processing, but the problem is that it’s diffuse to perfectly hold a credit card parallel to the phone. Between that and any height discrepancies between the eyes, you won’t get anything with a good enough tolerance.Version: 1.3

Upped the price a dollarI had been trying to download this app for hours and was having issues and finally it allowed me to download but after they had upped the price a dollar. Not cool..Version: 1.3

Not consistentIt’s awfully hard to get the card & eye targets lined up — they tend to move as you release them, so it takes a few tries. After that, I got measurements that varied by as much as 2.5mm. The problem is NOT taking the picture, the problem lies in trying to target up the edges of the card and the pupils afterward...the movement is jerky and there is no option for fine tuning..Version: 1.3

Difficult to use.It is not easy to hold your credit card horizontal. Reflection of light in yoyr pupils make it difficult to find the pupil’s centre. The red crosshair is difficult to place precisely..Version: 1.2.7

Not accurateWorks well but I didn't trust it so I went to an optician to double check and it was 4mm out which can make a lot of difference. Glad I went to my optician to check..Version: 1.1

Did not measure PD correctlyDid not work, gave me bad measurements. This caused me to go went to eye dr to get results to order RX Bad measurements from this AP cost me a lot of money Other AP actually was able to measure PD and get good results I could use to order.Version: 2.0.1

TerribleThis is by far the worst PD taking tool. DO NOT USE THIS TO BUY GLASSES, IT WILL MAKE YOUR PRESCRIPTION WORSE LONG TERM!! Take my advice I am an optician and bought this app to see if it actually works. IT DOES NOT. I have tried several times to compare on real patients, it's a scam. You cannot take your own PD with a picture..Version: 1.1

Not accurate and misleadingDon’t waste your time or money. 1st the website says it’s $5. Apple store says $9.99 but it charged me $17. Second the website shows using a credit card and aligning your pupils. The app doesn’t do that. And it gave me a reading of 68 when my PD is actually 64. Overall unhappy with the entire thing..Version: 2.0.1

Incorrect measurementsI tried this at least 10 times. I got different results the first 3 times and then was told my P.D. was 58mm 5 times in a row. I ordered glasses based on that. Today I had my eyes professionally measured, 30 and 31, or 61. Off by 3mm. Not happy..Version: 1.3

RubbishUseless. Tried lots of times, never anywhere near my PD confirmed by 2 separate opticians. Irritated I wasted money on this!.Version: 1.2.7

Really not greatDifferent measurement marginally each time. Different still from optician so all in all concerned how accurate this is..Version: 1.2.7

Very inconsistentI took 8 different readings using exactly the same procedure. I only had two measurements that matched. Very hard to move the targets over the eyes without them moving when you lifted your finger. I am going to buy another app this one is not precise.Version: 1.3

A waste of money - would give 0 stars if I could!5 different values with a variance of up 3.5mm between the smallest and largest reading. You will get a better result with a manual reader - available from Amazon for less than £5 - or just a normal ruler!.Version: 2.0.1

Didn’t work and no response from the developersIt didn’t work for me. I get different numbers every time I use it. Seems like a random number generator. I emailed the developers asking for help over a week ago and haven’t heard back so now I’m sharing my experience. This app was a waste of time and money for me..Version: 2.0.1

Simple instructions but dangerously incorrect readingsI followed the clear instructions five times and got readings of around 103mm. However, when checked, the actual PDN was 70mm. This is not only inaccurate but dangerous too as wrong measurements cause a lot of eye problems. This app can waste you a lot of money as you will need to buy new lenses once you realise why you are experiencing eye/medical problems..Version: 1.1

Interesting idea; chance of error!I measured three times. Each time different number..Version: 1.2

Unreliable measureMy friend had her PD measured professionally. We had 2-6mm difference in PD using the app and every time it was different than the last measurement..Version: 1.2.7

Wish I had read the recent reviews firstMy optician ended up giving me my PD for near and for distance. The app was off for both. I have a newer IOS, so the process was automatic and didn’t involve using a credit card. The only instruction was to tap on the screen. It didn’t say where to look or how far away to hold the phone. The results were consistent but clearly incorrect..Version: 2.0.1

Not accurateThis app isn’t accurate at all. Most of the free apps are more accurate than this. For $6.99 I thought this measurement would be accurate due to the fact the free apps I’ve tried are at least close. I wish I could get my money back..Version: 2.0.1

Not accurateThis can not be used for having an accurate number. In my case it was 4.5 mm difference.(it was showing 4.5 less than the correct result) That is a lot for glasses..Version: 1.3

Doesn’t work anymoreWhen I got the app the first time, it asked for your credit card as a reference as long as you just cover the sensitive information. It worked perfectly then. Now it’s absolutely horrible and gives you wrong reading over possible 2-5mm.Version: 2.0.1

Credit card scamNext minute your credit card is registering purchases from online sites you never visited... Who falls for this stuff still?.Version: 1.2

Doesn’t work well for droopy eyelidsIt is difficult to hold a credit card, a phone and take a picture at the same time. Droopy eyelids complicate things. I put some masking tape on the front of the credit card and stuck it on my upper lip. So I was able to get a measurement and since I wasn’t confident that I had good results, I measured again with a ruler and got the same result. I am a complicated case since several problems with my eyes and face that make the measurement difficult. For the average person, this would probably work fine..Version: 1.3

Not ReliableTried this five times however all readings different therefore, Inconsistent and unreliable..Version: 1.2

Garbage!Completely inaccurate. It also seems to believe you can take a selfie while holding a credit card for reference measurement with one hand while taking a selfie with your other arm holding the phone at arm’s length. Lol! In addition it’s very inaccurate, gives off the scale results and not enabling user to measure PD of another person or using a mirror. Forced me to pay $5. for a worthless group of apps I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! The positive reviews are fake!.Version: 1.2.7

Erreur de mesureLes différentes mesures prises sur différentes photos sont différentes l’une de l’autre et beaucoup moindre que celle prise par une règle.Version: 1.2.7

Tough to get accurate measurement.I have tried and tried and this is just not consistent enough for me to order glasses online..Version: 1.3

Expensive for single use. It’s a good app and I am sure that it has taken a very accurate measurement. It is expensive for an app that has a single use. Also, which is really annoying, it does not save the measurement values for future reference, hence two stars..Version: 2.0.1

SuggestionNot to be paranoid, or anything, but I really think a credit card is a bad idea. Credit card numbers can be deciphered from the back of a card. Use a rewards card or something else with no numbers in the back. Alternatively, shield the numbers with paper or a sticky note..Version: 1.1

Terrible useless do not purchaseMultiple readings with a wide range between 55 and 65 and very different from my ruler. Infuriating. Tells u to keep phone at eye level while fitting your head into designated circle area which u can not possible accomplish while simultaneously keeping phone at eye level..Version: 1.3

Positioning arrowsIt is a bit cumbersome to position the arrows. Too sensitive and hard to grab them. When I would get the red arrows positioned and then remove my finger, they would move just a little, throwing the positions off. Also, sometimes I was unable to make them move because they are so small that my finger was not right on top of them.....Version: 2.0.1

Crap appThis is a crap app, it gives a different reading every time, do not buy !.Version: 2.0.1

Much less accurate than a rulerTotal waste of money. I measured my PD 5 times with this app and got results between 61 and 68 which is a very wide range. Using a simple ruler I got to within 1-2 of my actual PD..Version: 1.2.7

Not accurate!Bought this app yesterday and wish I could get my money back. It gives completely different results than careful measuring by 3 friends using rulers and calipers. Also a friend who just ordered his glasses from an optometrist and KNOWS his correct PD gets a different measurement from this app. Since supposedly even an error of 2mm affects the lens this is just not acceptable. The app gives me 3-4mm different than accurate and careful measurement..Version: 2.0.1

Horrible App: Doesn't work :(App would not measure my pupils. It stayed on Automatic measurement 0% and black screen. Tried several times, and even turned off my iPhone and reset/restarted it. Don't waste your time, energy or money. Thouroughly disapointed..Version: 2.0.1

Questionable resultsMeasurements are all 5mm or more off of what any optician has indicated and also from my own ruler based measurements. Control of markers extremely difficult - won’t stay where you put it..Version: 1.3

Recurring payments?PD distance was off by 4mm.. also why would this app take a subscription? Isn't one payment for a wrong PD enough?.Version: 1.2.4

Unreliable. Too much variation in measurementsWhich one of the measurements should I guess at and use????.Version: 1.3
