✓ Fun game but ‘stuck’ advert spoilt itJust started playing & it’s vey addictive - The adverts popping up are a nuisance but understand why they do as I’m playing the free version Would’ve given it 5 stars but some Wonka Candy game advert showed up that didn’t come with an ‘X’ to clear it off the screen so the only way to get rid of it was to delete the app - Not happy as it cleared my data & of course all my progress I’ve reloaded it & I’m working my way through it again Second times the charm so they say so I’m waiting to see if it happens again - If it does I won’t bother reloading it Please fix this issue as the game is great - Hoping the rogue advert isn’t a ploy to force me to pay for ‘advert free’ play time because I won’t be paying for that option unless I choose to do so I’ve deleted & not reloaded other games that had adverts that got ‘stuck’, ones I really enjoyed If it lets me play long enough to get properly invested in it I might just pay for advert free because so far (stuck adverts apart) I’m lovin it 👍🏼.Version: 1.8.6
✓ I wanted to give a 5*I started off loving this app. I have always loved apps that were like this, because I love puzzles. However, after round 4, I was presented with an ad. Now, I understand the necessity of ads for revenue... But... This one, when apparently finished, presented a ‘close ad’ style option. So, I tapped it. Only to have safari open (not my choice of browser, which means added stress on the tablet, etc) and try to go to a site for purchasing the app. This is because the ‘close ad’ option really isn’t. On closing the safari instance, and returning to the game, I saw a countdown IN ADDITION to the ‘close ad’. So, the ‘close ad’ is just a lie, a ruse to get taps, which only take users to a purchase site. Worse, when the countdown ended, it took me to that sane site! So, it isn’t an ad, it’s a hijack. Either accept the ad and go there, or wait, and go there anyway! So, I am deleting your app. Your marketing is predatory, and pretty sure illegal..Version: 3.0.0
✓ Blocks ProgressI was thoroughly enjoying this puzzle. I reached level 167 and then when I completed a complicated one a message said “you’re almost done, keep going to complete the boxes”. In frustration I quit the game and went back a day later to a new start and it happened again. I hate being held hostage by an app. So long. ✓ Disruptive adsEnjoying the game so far, only had it for a few days and I like the concept but the ads are just far too frequent. Ads also interrupt a game in progress which is beyond irritating. Shame as I’d play longer if they were much less frequent. I understand the need for them but the no.1 complaint most people have is about ads, so get the balance right. ✓ Brilliant until level 100…then ruined by advertsYou expect free-to-download games to have advertisements, but not when the advertisements make the game unplayable. As usual with most games, adverts appear between the levels. That’s okay, but after you reach level 100, each game is frequently interrupted by a steaming teacup image followed by a thirty second unrelated advertisement. This spoils the concentration and interrupts strategy making this excellent game unplayable. I’ve deleted the app, as has my wife, but we would both readily reinstall it if the developers got rid of the interrupting adverts!.Version: 3.0.1

✓ I absolutely love this game, but…..This is a great game. For those with issues regarding too many ads, turn your WiFi off. The game is playable offline. My reason for the 3 stars is the inability to go any further with the game. I completed all 60 stages, level 1800. At one point I could see there were more levels and a message would pop up saying I needed to complete all stages to continue to the next stage. I no longer see the next stage. I still do the daily challenges, and when looking at the leaderboard there are players with with much higher stages and levels. For example, there is 1 player at level 2100 stage 60, and another at level 2056 stage 68. What am I missing?.Version: 2.7.8

✓ Too much advertising popupsI got to level 997 but time to delete. I was getting approximately 10 popups in the middle of each round. I was completing each round from between 55 seconds and 5 minutes depending on difficulty. I would have 3-4 popup ads in the 55 second levels and more like 15-20 in the 5 minute levels. Some were quick ‘press close’ ads and others were 2 minutes long. I loved the game and it challenged me but enough is enough. I know they need to make money but when you watch an ad and make a connection 5 seconds after that, why more ads immediately? No time to formulate your next move. I gave it 2 stars because the game was decent. I don’t even remember any info to even register it to rid yourself of the ads. Save your time and sanity and move on. ✓ Ridiculous amount of adsThe game itself I like, it’s challenging and fun. However what spoils it is the excessive ads and more to the point, ads which are downright irresponsible and seemingly unregulated, constant diet pill ads with ridiculous claims of losing 7 stone in a fortnight! ✓ Intrusive ads and app crashesIt’s a nice game for the iPad. But the touch response is too laggy. And there are too many ads, including ad breaks when you’ve just started a game. And many of these ads crash the app, leaving a blank black, or occasionally blank white screen, necessitating an app close and reset, losing any progress you’ve made. I doubt I can play for more than 10 minutes typically before a crash. Cannot recommend unless you like frustration. Edit: The developers suggested sending them screenshots to identify what they called “bad ads” after crashes. Which is absurd, because pictures of blank screens won’t help them. (They can’t have read what I wrote properly.) I have now switched to Flow Free, which runs much smoother, and where ads NEVER crash the app. It all makes me think the Dot Knot app itself is what’s causing the crashes. ✓ HINTSI do like this game very much but the last upgrade took the hints bonus to a new low. I was on the bottom row about to hit 800 points only to refresh and it’s gone! Now the most you can get is 250 and that’s after 30 days of check ins. The greed monster must have gotten his grubby paws in it and messed it up for everyone! ✓ Worse version of a great gameI’ve been playing Flow (and all of its variations) for years now... those games do the same thing and are better in practically every way. The ads are MUCH less intrusive in Flow (and if I remember correctly, you actually get more free levels than you do in this game) and this game just feels worse in the actual puzzles, because it does nothing to try to snap onto where your finger is if you go a little too fast on a corner in the path, so you’re forced to awkwardly backtrack and take extra time to carefully do each turn perfectly. The only mechanic that I think still holds up with this game when it’s compared to Flow are the multi-color points, which I’ve never seen done before and are an interesting idea, for sure. Sadly, it’s not enough to make me want to play this game any longer than I already have. Flow is just... better..Version: 2.3.6

✓ Mixed BlessingThis is a great looking little game. It looks deceptively simple, but often takes quite a bit of brainpower to solve. It’s a shame it’s completely inundated with advertising. Playing, it can be a bit like chess. You see an alternate solution which requires three or four changes to your gameplay and suddenly you’re off to three or four adverts, it gets really annoying. ✓ Don’t be fooledThis app tracks all of your info, including your geolocation. There’s no way to opt out of it. I downloaded the app because I love this game but removed it immediately. In order to play, you have to agree to their privacy policy which lists examples of what they track, they don’t even provide the full list. Do you really want them in your photos, gaining access to all of your contacts, texts, credit card info and access to all the bills you pay online?
