✓ Good execution... some bad ideasThis is a great translation over to the app. If you like this on the web browser then you’ll love it here it is a really really good game and works very well in app form... except for one massive problem. THE FIRST MAP SHOULDNT BE THE WHOLE WORLD... More often than not you get dropped onto a hundreds of kilometres long straight road in the central US, Brazilian rainforest, or Siberian tundra without any reasonable way to work out where you are. You need coins to unlock the other maps which is fair but I don’t see why the world map was the first when it’s very clearly going to be the most difficult one... when I want to start a game and I’m confronted with the desert of central Mexico with rusted buildings and no signs for miles I just give up. It makes the whole experience deflating. I get one place within 3m thanks to clever reasoning, road signs, geography, even a tourist map. 3/5 perfect score. Ruined by a featureless obscured pine forest that looks like Russia but is in fact northern Canada... thanks game..Version: 0.9.7

✓ Fun and challengingChanging my rating and review because the most recent update corrected the issues I was having. I’m now able to play without having to close and restart the app after each game. I like the challenge and competition of battle royale. It’s quick which makes it great for when you need to waste some time. The addition of single player is nice cause it’s a bit more relaxing while still giving a puzzle-like experience. I don’t really like the subscription based model so that’s why I only gave 4 stars..Version: 0.22
✓ Great fun and nice designWould love to see a setting for number of rounds when playing with friends. Find when I play with my GF that two rounds isn’t enough. ✓ Great family timeWe love the game. It’s the only app that I’ve ever paid monthly for and it’s well worth it. We play as a family and it’s great critical thinking practice for our 10 year old- using context clues to solve problems. The only complaint I have is that every third location we end up somewhere in Georgia (USA). We’ve got a giant country with plenty to explore and, quite frankly, I’m sick of Georgia. And if it’s not Georgia, we end up in Florida. If we don’t start getting more variety, I may go back to the free rounds..Version: 0.36.1
✓ Bad UI for map/submit guess buttonI have on multiple play through accidentally submitted a guess mid session due to the buttons being the same colour/position for the map toggle & submit. ✓ Good for on-the-go geogussrIt’s fun and very similar to the browser version. If you don’t have pro you can only play a game every 8 hours. But you can also play the “infinity” mode that gives you 5 rounds. Fun for practice when the browser version isn’t accessible. One qualm I have with the app is that sometimes when you play the country streak multiplayer mode, you will get a glitch; the glitch is when you correctly guess the country with enough spots and go to the next round but the screen says “waiting for the next round to start” when it has already begun. You are not able to put your guess anywhere but can move around and end up being out even if you knew the country. It’s very annoying and has cost me many points!.Version: 0.100.0
✓ Love the concept…The idea is brilliant , and so far I’ve managed to pinpoint my location successfully a few times …… BUT when I try to I put it onto their map…. After spending ages making sure I’m in exactly the right place …… for one reason or another I can’t get their location pin to stick on the location I’ve chosen … and I am given a different location as a result … which can be miles away from my chosen location… very disappointing really.. I wonder if I paid for the enhanced version if it would still be the same….Version: 0.110.1
✓ Just a few issuesI love the hell out of this app! I just have a few suggestions. First, can we have the option of "anywhere but Russia?" It's just such a huge area, and unless you're really comfortable with the Cyrillic alphabet, you have to just guess. Second, because you have to constantly tap the screen to move, can you hide the little flag that sends you back to where you started? I've been very frustrated after 10 minutes following a road and accidentally bumping the flag while shifting my hands. Besides that (and the occasional crash), I love the game and I play it every day!.Version: 0.9.7

✓ No progress history or awardsThe app works well enough but unlike the browser version you cannot create an account. Without an account you have no history or awards or the ability to resume games at any time or save favourite maps. You can't even spend money for the pro features that are in the browser version, which is a missed opportunity for the developers. Unfortunately playing with the browser version on iPad is really glitchy when trying to move along fast by tapping way ahead of the arrows...it just stops working (even on an iPad Pro). I've tried all the major browsers for iPad and they all have the same problem. The app navigation works fine but you miss out on all the account features of the browser version..Version: 0.9.7
✓ A few glitches in iOS 11, but still fun and educationalThis game feels like a game I will be playing the rest of my life. It’s super addictive, but only because you start to get good at recognizing different places. It has even caused me to start analyzing roadsides in movies and TV shows! My only reason for 4 stars is that sometimes there is a block of blurred images or blackness which persists in the same part of the field of view and never resolves, even when I move to different places on the map or . I’m not talking about the google maps blurring, which stay with the objects. You can’t force quit the app and then resume a game, so I don’t know how to get rid of it..Version: 0.9.7
✓ Disappointing vs. The web versionI was introduced to the game by someone who plays the web version on their laptop. Downloaded the app to my iPad and it isn’t as good an experience. However the web version doesn’t seem to work well on the iPad either with jerkier movement, so it looks like the “real” GeoGuessr experience is not possible on an iPad, even if you subscribe..Version: 0.83.0
✓ Love it, but a few glitches.Having a problem lately where if you’re playing the infinity made against an opponent, the “next round” button is unresponsive when you come back to it. ✓ Great app, but too expensive for what it isGeoguesser is a simplistic yet the most advanced game, from sitting on your coach with a phone in your hand you can be placed anywhere in the world from central London to the Australian outback. A great game but way to expensive for what it is. $4.50 a month is way overpriced for something as small or simple as geoguesser, an app made by google from the appstore. ✓ The biggest collapse in game app history.Ok….so, I hadn’t played this game in two months due to distraction with other apps that I had uploaded….but I always kept it in my IPad for a rainy day. So, I decided to turn on my Geoguessr app to get reacquainted and have some fun. It was a game that always tapped into my OCD, investigative nature. I turn on my app….and am greeted by some gate-keeping horsesh#t that wouldn’t allow my to play unless I gave a password, e-mail and my first born. Which leads me to believe that the devs have altered the game towards a commitment-cash grab. Guys….what was the point? So that you could sap more money from people who adored your game even though I paid money for add removal months ago? Which means that you guys actually stole money, right? It would be serviceable for ALL developers to announce to their fans prior to a corrupt decision to simply say “Attention players! We’ve decided to bend you over and bleed your wallet at the same time!” Just some advice, guys..Version: 0.36.0

✓ Fun way to travel during COVIDThis game has done wonders for my wanderlust during lockdown. Getting to see parts of the world we’d never see otherwise... we play by one of us casting the game from an iPhone to the TV while the other has the laptop who can research clues. We’ve managed to earn enough points to unlock many of the maps avaialable. It’s a shame though that some countries are not part of the world map. Would love to see more of Japan, Central America, NZ, and the Middle East/Turkey. Overall one of my favorite games though!.Version: 0.10

✓ Add party featuresSuch a great app with a simple but effective interface. But why can’t I do more than 1 round at a time when playing with friends. After each round you have to return to the menu and launch another one if playing with 1 person. Not so much of an issue if there is a large group. ✓ Great conceptThe game itself is great. It has only glitched once, so no complaints. Really addictive and fun trying to work out where I am. The problem for me is the pricing model. I don’t expect the game to be free, I am happy to pay but I don’t like the idea of a subscription of £2.99 a month or the yearly price. ✓ Love this (could be better...)I really enjoy the detecting element of this game. I’m over confident in my own geography knowledge, so this game is a great way to point out my own inadequacies :) Improvements: 1. After the time limit is reached, allow a pin to be placed. It’s cruel to put the pin placement in the time limit. 2. Country bonus, how about a bonus for recognising that I’m in the the correct country. The USA is such a massive country, it seems mean to punish me for guessing I’m in a forest in California when I’m actually in a forest in South Carolina. This way I can be more specific with my guesses, not just aim for the middle of a country to hedge my bets..Version: 0.10

✓ Pretty good, but. . . .More variety in locations is needed. When playing the "World" map, you end up in a Scandinavian country (often Sweden), Brazil, or Russia with disproportionate frequency. I have lost count of the number of times I have been in Brazil. The same is true for the "Major Cities" map, just add Tokyo and some city in Mexico to the mix. I have not played the other maps, so I do not know how they compare. Location issues aside, I really enjoy the game. It is fun to see different places around the world and decipher where you are from clues such as road signs, website addresses, languages on signs. Overall I recommend getting this game. ✓ BugBug report: After I finishing clicking where I think the location is, it doesn’t let me move the map, it just gets really glitchy. It’s pretty annoying. ✓ Good updatesUI has improved lot since I last played, with the map being much easier to open, and less fiddly to use. Only criticism is when you click the flag icon to go hop back to starting position, it resets the map too! This is really annoying in classic mode, when you've painstakingly found your location and want to fine tune it and drop your pin exactly.Version: 0.60.0
✓ Great gameGeoGuessr is a fun and addicting game that makes you want to learn. I have learned more than any other game with GeoGuessr. It’s simplistic design makes it easy to navigate. It’s easy to learn but hard to master, making it a game that’s you’ll never get tired of. You can unlock more maps over time and having higher skill gives you higher reward to get the new maps. The only problem is that some of the maps are very low quality. That happens a very low portion of the time because the maps are constantly being updated with Google Streetview. ✓ I want to go back !I LOVE this game ! I have only just discovered it but immediately reccommended it to my husband BUT please,please,please,please ,please put in a go back button ! So that we can look back ! I keep thinking my guess will be rubbish,put my blue flash elsewhere only to discover I was very near indeed PLUS sometimes I am ‘surprised by joy at how beautiful a place was and I want to go back to have another look Also I dash headlong through to get rid of the USA because if I guess correctly it is the USA I think it jolly mean how few points I get,just because it is a few thousand kilometres away whereas I feel cleverer for knowing it was somewhere in the USA than confusing Southern Poland with Northern Germany ! Upon downloading I discovered you can’t sign in so i can only play the world map for now. ✓ Vanished!Formerly five stars, but what happened to the handy, multi-choice first page? Some clueless developer has ruined a good game. I don’t want to be searching multiple countries for a city with an often repeated Spanish or Portuguese name. ✓ Great game, a few suggestionsThis is a very good game, I’ve never had problems with glitches, there are no ads and it’s easy to navigate. I have a few suggestions/complaints 1. When you run out of tickets or free play could you please include an option to watch an ad for more? I tend to play this game then run out of tickets and get off when I would have kept playing longer. 2. I play this to help me learn geography, when you fail a round it just sends you back to the trail without telling you where the place actually was. That makes it a lot harder for me to learn from my mistakes or improve. Anyways those are just my thoughts, I hope you take them into consideration. ✓ Love the game, BUT...This game is brilliant overall and I’ve managed to get a hang of where most places are now, which allows me to get at least 13-14k plus every game, BUT I like to challenge myself by limiting the number of moves or not moving at all, and without the Diverse and Urban World Packs that the web game has, it’s nigh on impossible to get any sort of a good score playing this way as it generates places with little or no road signs or cars. Apart from this it’s very enjoyable and a good time passer, so all I would say is to bring in a more diverse pack of maps so I can challenge myself a little bit more..Version: 0.10

I’ve only been playing for a few days, but have two suggestions: 1) a “confirm pin location” prompt with the option to keep or discard dropped would be great - I keep somehow dropping a pin in the middle of nowhere and submitting it without realising; and 2) a single touch 180-degree turn would be awesome - it takes a lot of time to spin around on the spot at present..Version: 0.12
✓ Love this game but.....Great game but a few glitches take the fun out. First, many times it won’t let me move around at all so it’s very hard to figure out where I am. Don’t drop us at a place where the map won’t advance us please. Also, sometimes it accidentally marks a spot as my final answer and ruins the game for me like tonight you dropped me on a bridge and it wouldn’t let me move but I was planning to guess and I opened the map and it marked a spot for me then told me I was wrong and my guess was actually right so I got mad...grrrr, lol. ✓ My Favorite Game!! But Needs Alternate Sign-InI’ve been a long time player of this game and it is my absolute favorite game. However when I created my account on the web browser version, I signed in using Google or Facebook (I can’t remember which lol). But recently I paid for a pro account after the free version change. It is totally worth the money but I can’t sync my maps to my phone because I can’t sign in using the alternate options. Is there a way around this? ✓ Pretty decent, but still a work in progressI like it. It’s fascinating, but it needs work to improve it. Here are my suggestions for improvements (aimed at the developer, obvs). 1) The first set of maps should be the player’s home country, not the world. It should be the ultimate achievement to unlock the world map. You play home to start with, them unlock all the others one by one, until there’s only the world left. Build us up to achieve, don’t put us off with near-impossible tasks from the start! 2) Put the ‘Guess’ button anywhere but bottom left (or centre)! It’s far too easy to accidentally tap it without realising. And have a ‘confirm guess’ option for safety. I get fed up with games being cut short because I brush over the button accidentally. 3) Get rid of the bug that causes the screen to lock onto one finger. Too often it ‘sticks’ to my fingertip while I’m moving it and instead of moving the map, for example, it zooms in and out, and the only way to unstick it is to tap, which sets down a guess marker, then problem 2 kicks in. 4) Add a ‘Save game’ option. I don’t often have time for 5 maps at once, but I don’t like leaving an app open but unused. It’s a waste of memory that I need for whatever other functions and apps I’m using. It’s so annoying having to start a whole new game every time I open the app. Those will do for starters. Please, developers, put these features in, and turn a good game into a great one!.Version: 0.10

✓ Love Geogeussr but just have some feedbackI love this game but I’m not sure why the iOS app set up is so different from the website. For example I would love it if in the multiplayer games on the app such as Battle Royale Countries, it would show you the exact location of your guesses on the world map in the summary. It’s one of my favourite battles, playing against other users to guess the correct country but it would be amazing to see exactly where you were to improve knowledge and learn about different areas. ✓ Needs improvementI love this game. It’s fun to play and educational. I love seeing the different parts of the world. There are a few issues as follows: Occasionally I have to restart as the connection drops. You have to be spot on location for maximum points, which is impossible. Sometimes I’m dropped in a vast area of fields or vegetation and there are no signs and I have to tap a hundred times. Occasionally tapping doesn’t even work. ✓ Game is great but there’s many glitchesThe first glitch is levels not even loading. The second glitch is the street view camera glitching, stretching and bugging. And the final error is when playing on an iPhone that doesn’t have a home button, swiping up to exit the app while in a game will cause you to waste a guess on some occasions due to the markers being at the very bottom of the screen. I’ve played it so much that it gives me the same location and it’s not fun anymore because I know where that is now. You set the rules and the time limit, or can play competitively. If you’re just competing against yourself, you can set the rules: for example, do you just go by the general look of your surroundings, or limit yourself to evident languages and street signs, or ask for help from old Professor Google? Your call. There are multiple games within the game, corresponding to countries or cities. However, you need to earn your way into these by racking up points. You start out with a general “The World” game, which is fairly hard. Lots of country roads in the middle of nowhere. It’s worth it to “unlock” additional games, using the points you’ve earned.
