I really have to force myself to use the others rather than this. The only reason that I ever have a debate is because of the lack of timeline editing -but Imaginando’s LK and 4Pockets Multi-Track fix those deficiencies. All the same I would like to see more Dj style features included! May I suggest an actual crossfader channel that is preconfigured to operate like the variable cross fade on a Dj console! we need a touch fader that will do the task so that one does not need to hook up a controller; this would be especially useful on the iPhone! I have seen only three examples of how to do crossfade in AUM . … my other desire is to make it work with zoom audio sharing! The only app I found so far that is able to play audio through Zoom is “Beatime” which is awesome at what it does. P.S.: I think it is worth every $$$ and is a unique beast in the Metaverse! When I first saw AudioShare, I instantly knew that it was going to be special and very important to me as an iOS musician - never dreaming that perhaps one day another App by the same author would arrive that would not only complement AudioShare, but might actually eclipse it in some respects. . . .Here It Is. This is IT. This is the BIG ONE. And if YOU, like me, are into creating iOS music, then believe me, YOU NEED THIS! AUM is a work of Genius, at first glance it's a little bit like Audiobus, but it does SO much MORE! It connects just about everything to everything else audio-wise , - even Audio Units (AUv3) Apps. ✓ Great app but not so practical....yet.This app would be so cool if you set it up as a live performing app. Every live keyboard player knows that you do not have time to turn down the volume knob on one patch and then turn up another patch. Last time I did that was with my arp quadra in 1979. Since the early 80’s we’ve simply pushed a button which gives us the next sound. So if I have to play horns for 2 measures, strings for 2 measures and organ for two measures I simple push ( for example) button 4, 1 and then 3(or however the patches are set up) When you are performing live you have no time to think about pulling levers down and up, you just want to push the next button, preferably larger than the itty bitty solo button on your App. I understand that AUM is set up as a mixer, I get it. And It is a brilliant app. I love what it does. But AUM could do for the iPad what main stage has done with the computer. Make it usable on the gig..Version: 1.2.5

✓ Next level!I usually don't write reviews but I had to make an exception with this one! simply put: connect anything to anything, audio or midi, brilliant graphics and ui, it's been a long time since an app made me this happy, I run it on a old iphone 4s with tonebridge and a bunch effects, 3 channels, guitar and bass and aux with recording on a NI Komplete Audio 6 card and runs like a charm with cpu to spare, guitar rig and effects on the budget better than hardware.... on my iPad air (first gen btw) I mix and record a whole live band, guitar, bass, mic, 3 synth apps, effects just with AUM, everything in 24bit 48k, crazy how far technology has come and creative programing can take it! thank you! mind blown!.Version: 1.2.5

✓ My main music making appDespite having an obscene amount of all sorts of music production apps ranging from countless synths, all major iOS DAWs and down to obscure effects and arpeggiators, there is no app in my amateur wannabe music producer’s arsenal that enjoys the same level of use and love as AUM. Ironically, i wouldn’t even get it if it wasn’t for all the raving it gets on forums and in music oriented social media groups. We have never had an issue syncing with Ableton and our modular rig using AUM, but since this “important” update it seems our ability to use Link has been broken. ✓ Really nice to use and as deep as you needI usually do write reviews and AUM, to me is the shi-i-it! It blows my mind to use it and everything just works as smooth and glossy as high-end feels. It was hard at first to wrap my mind around the best use but I throw samples and loops at it effecting them with au and other plug ins and set up synths and drums triggered by midi. AUM acts as a digital console and on a 2017 iPad 128 I have not been able to max it out as far as tracks and massive sound are concerned. It truly is ausome and worth every penny..Version: 1.3.1
✓ AwesomeI spent , rather I wasted, a month and a half fighting with another companies Audio/MIDI mixer finally gave up on that and purchased the AUM I was up and running in five minutes and the functionality is incredible, it has not sucked up any CPU or crashed because it’s using too much CPU unlike some other audio midi bus which would peak at 350% (!!!) ✓ AUM is the landscape everything else happens inWhatever music you make, AUM is *the* essential app for making it on IOS. Used to traditional DAWs, e.g. Cubasis, (which AUM seamlessly integrates with, btw), at first I didn't get why I needed this. But I find those DAWS more or less force you into thinking verse chorus, drum loop etc... Fine if EDM or singer songwriter is your thing but... ...These days, my hardware and PC DAW lie neglected and almost all my creation takes place inside AUM, on an IPad Air 2018. AUM's simplicity and flexibility as a host for IAA and AUv3 apps, for patching and routing audio and midi signals, and especially it's ability to record and loop in-app or external audio from anything, to pull in clips from AudioShare and even weird soft 'toy' apps like Dr. Om which are hard to use musically otherwise enable thinking outside of the box for both song structure peeps and people (like me) more comfortable with experimental, ambient flows. Match it up with Photon AU and/or Atom MIDI recorders and something like Quantum or Xequence to generate capture MIDI on the fly and you can dial up your own bespoke DAW, channel by channel, a veritable one-stop-shop studio on a tablet. Superb. I'm just hoping for an in-AUM Cubasis style channel automation and snapshot state saving update, and then AUM will be perfect..Version: 1.3.1

✓ Stands in a class of its ownI rarely write reviews. I detest being nagged for a review in apps. I also buy and try many apps, not many stick around for a long time. not the case with AUM. I’m primarily a live guitarist, and this app has been the heart of my rig for almost a year now. it’s amazing what it can do, and with plugins on the iOS platform, the only limit is my imagination. I have an 11” 2020 iPad Pro, and I have never gotten the CPU meter consistently above 45% - ever. and I have come up with some pretty crazy setups, running two discrete guitar signals live. the MIDI flexibility is amazing as well. coupled with Ableton Live running on another computer on the network, my entire show is automated. it’s amazing - and it’s all because of AUM. there’s simply nothing else like this on the app store. if you’re a mobile minded musician, stop wondering already and get this..Version: 1.3.10

✓ Please, iPhone Landscape mode please 😭AUM is a beast, there is no need to be specific the ratings speak for themselves - it’s either this baby, ApeMatrix or Loopy (at least for me), all other “DAWs” (not that these are “DAWs”), simply cannot compete. Regardless, AUM has had this “flaw” for years now, I’ve been asking for an iPhone landscape mode and I simply cannot imagine I’m the only one - AUM on iPhone is kind of a pain to handle (constantly needing to rotate the device is honestly an experience killer). ✓ Best App for Live Playing, but please add a few features..I love this app for live playing. It is the best to just get the ideas to flow. It’s so easy and simple to use.. But please add these features: 1. Being able to save all the plugins on a specific channel, so that you can for example, load up a guitar rig channel and maybe a bus channel for reverb. 2. Being able to freeze the channels that are loaded with heavy plugins. 3. Being able to set how many bars that you want to record, because if you don’t press stop right on the dot, if you loop a recording, it will gradually get off beat. 4. ✓ Incredibly usefulI use this app regularly live. It has enabled me more than ever to not bring a laptop to gigs for even relatively complex custom live setups involving multiple synths/fx and looping and external audio. Of course processor power will limit what you can do, and you need to be careful about zombie copies of other audio apps in memory, but on a fast iPad the possibilities are mind boggling if you have an arsenal of (stable and efficient) IAA or AU or audiobus apps. Its own recording capabilities are useful and interesting, plus the developer's own audio apps (such as reverb/delay and other experimental apps) are mostly wonderful. Liberating..Version: 1.2.1

AUM allows me to use my iPad in the same way I setup these kind of patches on my laptop host. ✓ Almost a must have.If youre happy working entirely in cubasis or nanostudio or any other such DAW.. or maybe you just play with a synth, you might not need this. But.. if like many ios musicians you like jamming, running a few apps together, routing midi around and using various effects all at once.. you need AUM. Its a stable host, will record itself in a synced manner, it has syncable audiofile players (think long or short loops or one shots.. however you like.. also midi triggerable). It saves its session state.. its a capable production workstation with the right choice of apps. I'll sequence different synths with Drambo or Digikeys, add eq and effect each synth, use some fx busses etc. Pure Acid runs on multiple outs in this. Its the closest thing to having a hardware mixer and midi hub to connect all your virtual dynths together. The faders and other functions are midi mapable, making it automatable, but its still indispensible for me when used in a simple manner.. just maybe running a synth and a drum machine for a quick jam. It does auv3 and iaa.. its terrific..Version: 1.3.11
✓ Most Important App for musiciansI first reviewed AUM 2 years ago and refresh it every so often when it hits me how bloody amazing the app is. I want to thank Jonatan, the developer, every chance I get without being obnoxious. He keeps tweaking and adding features to improve an already perfect mixer. The routing capabilities makes this app over the top mind blowingly perfect. There is also the fact of having tons of little things to make you often think "WHAT, it does that too!" Jonatan tweaks when something comes to his mind that he knows will be appreciated by us. It's not like he makes a list of nice to haves and spreads out their addition to be able to regularly add one to make it look like he is doing something. He adds things as they come to mind. AUM is one of those music making apps for ipados/iOS that every one of us must have. I just can't say enough. I smile a lot every day because of the fun i have using AUM. It's just that great. Hey, if you want to ask for a feature, contact the dev by email. Don't take stars off the review to push for things. That will just lower the rating, and gives a dishonest evaluation for you to get something. Not fair to the dev and not fair to other musicians who could get a lower collective opinion. The rating is to communicate how good or bad an app is to help users decide which apps to choose. Just send an email and start a dialogue with the dev to make suggestions etc..Version: 1.3.7

✓ Great iOS toolVery impressive. The only thing I really find lacking is some kind of global snapshots. So for instance I could save different global states containing different Rozeta patterns etc as snapshots (connected to various instruments) and use AUM snapshots to fluidly switch between chords and patterns across all tracks simultaneously. With both ‘instant’ and ‘next bar sync’ settings for snapshot switch. Currently I find myself mostly stuck in one key/chord in AUM jams as there’s no real way to switch all tracks/instruments at once.... hopefully this kind of thing can be addressed in future updates. The only weakness is that it doesn’t receive midi sync, which is pretty sad. For instance Id love to be able to sequence my hardware synth with my MPC and record them into AUM and have AUM wait for a midi sync signal to start recording. ✓ A Must Have For Music Makers!The best yet,AUM draws the elements of the iOS music world together seamlessly and makes music creation a joy. The experience has been a pure pleasure and I’m blown away by how much I can get done on my iPhone. I’ll have Korg Gadget, Bias Amp and several synths and drum apps as well as audio in via usb mic or guitar DI, and Bluetooth midi controller and keyboard all going in a session. However AUM saw my interface immediately and worked straight away. In my title i said it simply works, but it is not a simple product. ✓ Great but not without its issuesMy main issue is getting hardware to work with it. The midi controls work, but no mackie, or hui control means lights and indicators don’t function properly on my hardware (Korg NanoKontrol Studio). I can get cubasis working through AUM by routing channels and that allows me to perform all the functions I need to through cubasis (arming + selecting tracks, transport functions, levels, pan, etc.), and the lights work as expected. Without AUM in the mix, everything works fine in Cubasis, but with the above setup, after about 10 minutes, the lights stop responding and the iPad requires a full reboot to get things going again. I’m not sure if this is a cubasis, or a kymatica thing, but it would be great if someone looked into this, it’s a very common controller made for iOS. The cubasis guys are friendly and happy to work with others to solve issues.
