✓ Can’t log inI tried four or five times now using both Facebook and my phone number, changing passwords, using the web page and app and I just get the “request timed out” message as the login process proceeds. It’s especially frustrating because this is the app my hometown train station chose to employ to have us pay for parking. Thankfully, there’s a manual kiosk we can also use or we’d be SOL. The programmers need to fix whatever is happening here because after skimming through the other reviews I see I’m not the only one experiencing this glitch..Version: 3.0.19
✓ Does it ever work?I’ve been using this app for at least 30 days and more than half of the time it’s always glitching I also didn’t realize the app wasn’t working once because of the verbiage in the message displayed and ended up getting a $58 ticket! You’re better off using an actual parking meter!.Version: 3.1.3
✓ App not working properlyI have used this to park for an hour and half and only for $2.00. I have updated the car plate number and bank number and paid. It says it was starting and so i left. Thus, i came back with a ticket and which is so unacceptable. I thought i can trust this app since i do not have any coins, but now with the ticket of $39!!! Now, no phone number to reach them out and i have sent an email and no answer. What is the purpose of using this app???.Version: 3.0.23
✓ I used the app and ended up with a parking ticketNot impressed. I used the app to put time on the meter for my street parking near the university, though there’s also an option to use a pay station in the general vicinity. Thinking the app payment would be sufficient, (because why wouldn’t it be?!), I went on with my day. I returned a couple of hours later to a ticket, with the citation reading: “no time on the meter.” Oookay except the app shows I paid for three hours, and I was not over on time. Now I have to go and contest this dang ticket and deal with the city. This was only the third time I’ve used the app. And prior to this occasion, the app has been generally very unstable. One time it wouldn’t load my time so I couldn’t see how much I had left and another time it showed something strange like 13 hours, making me worry I’d been charged for that much, in a zone that doesn’t even allow you to park for that long. ✓ Double booking spotsThe app double booked the parking spot and so it took a days worth of parking and I was not able to use the space at all for the entire 12 hours. $15 it took from me on top of having to pay for a second space to park in. The app doesn’t take care of these issues and refers you to the city park I g agency but has no contact info for them. Furthermore, I contacted the department after taking photos of the vehicle in the spot and the liscence plate for proof in an attempt to get my money back and haven’t been able to get through on the city’s website. 0/10, would not recommend..Version: 3.1.3
✓ Can’t pay unless next to meterI typed in the number of the meter but didn’t want to stand on the street and do all my card information, figured I could just do that at the restaurant. ✓ It logged me out and denied I ever had an account!?Super slow, constantly freezing and driving me insane! It also deleted my account! I was logged out suddenly and when I tried to log back in it told me this phone number never had been registered!!!!!!!!! ✓ Not a fan of the need to be close to the meterI thought the point of a parking meter app was to be convenient. It’s not convenient for me to have to run back to the meter every time I need to refill the meter. It’s an app and should work over Wifi without the need for me to be within range of the meter. ✓ App is slowI use this app in Metuchen, NJ on Main Street and it is extremely slow. If you know in advance that you have to use this app, get to your location early because it takes forever to go in and out of any screens especially if you are setting it up for the first time, adding a new car or payment method. I’ve used it 5 or 6 times now and it’s always the same. Extremely slow. It does what it’s supposed to do, but I always hope that if I’m driving somewhere that I need to park, that the place uses ParkMobile and not this app..Version: 3.0.20
✓ BuggyGreat idea for all municipalities for customer convenience and compliance with metered parking. However, as of this iteration, the signup process and modal dialogues are buggy and the app hangs. That, and when it does not hang, it’s very slow to respond. Needs a lot of work. There are other apps I’ve used (like ParkChicago and ParkMobile) that function flawlessly and are super responsive. I’m still trying to get ParkSmarter to even work (and I’m in tech - so that’s sad for the average consumer trying to use this app). Edit/update: 10 minutes later - voila, it works! (I think - fingers crossed it activates the meter remotely and/or the enforcement pay enough attention to those that have paid via the app)..Version: 3.0.21
✓ Definitely NOT SMART!! Don’t use this app!!Ughh! Wish I could give zero stars! I got charged for a full day when I only needed a spot for an hour! This app is so dumb and I won’t be using it again!! ParkSmart.. ya right.. not smart! Terrible user experience throughout the app with NOOO customer service support and there is NO way to cancel you session if you made a mistake or again needed less time then you planned!! ✓ Expand itAlthough you can extend your time you have to be right next to the meter to be able to do it. I was hoping even though if I was down the street I could extend it from where I was and not have to run out and basically feed the meter next to it with my credit card linked to it still.Version: 2.5.7.2
✓ Bluetooth doesn't work/Remote doesn't work.I didn't even know you could renew remotely until I read a few reviews. Of course these reviews are from an older previous version. The current version doesn't work. It worked via Bluetooth for a little bit but now doesn't work at all. This app needs a lot of work. ✓ Was great in the beginningThe app was awesome when I first started using it. I don’t know what happened but after about a month I stopped getting notification about when my time was about to expire, and also when I would go to extend my current session it would start a whole new session instead of extending it, removing whatever time I still had left. ✓ What a piece of crap.Absolute useless and junk. The sign in process is a joke. App continuously locks up, freezes and will not recognize my login information even after multiple resets. The online service is not much better. It charged me three times for the same parking location at the same time. because of the inability to login properly, and contact the developer I will have to dispute those charges with my credit card company. This happened in Honolulu Hawaii with up-to-date iOS on my phone. Plus the meter would not show that I had purchased any parking at all. As it showed an expired parking on the meter and I am sure a parking ticket would’ve followed if I had stayed for any length of time. An absolute waste of time…..Version: 3.1.4
✓ The worst!I’ve had only problems since using this app. It constantly freezes! Also, I’ve had a few instances where it finds a spot thousands of miles away from my actual current location, and if I’m not careful to double check, I’ll accidentally pay for a spot on a different continent (that’s right...a different CONTINENT). In addition to that, I had a question a few months back and emailed the customer support email listed on the app...and no response..Version: 3.0.8.0
✓ Biggest disappointmentWas excited to see an app that would help me save time dealing with Hollywood parking, but instead, has caused me to waste more time than just using my credit card. The app is dreadfully slow!! SO slow that just waiting for the app to open takes more time than using a credit card at the meter and walking away. Half the time, the Bluetooth won’t communicate effectively with the meter, forcing you to use a credit card at the end of it all, ANYWAY. If you thought you could use the app to extend your parking meter’s time, you thought wrong. In fact, you have to come back out to the parking meter for it to connect. Also, I’ve received 2 parking tickets because the system is flawed and parking attendants don’t recognize that you already paid for parking with the app. I liked the idea of the app, but it’s caused much more stress and frustration than it even intended to solve..Version: 3.0.20
✓ How To OperateThis was way too difficult. After downloading the App and following prompts, I had to try 7 or 8 times to get the meter payment done. I didn’t know if it accepted payment or not. The actual meter would go from a blinking green to yellow then to red. That happened several times. Needs a little tweaking..Version: 3.0.24
✓ BuggyThe app consistently doesn’t work. It will be stuck on the loading screen forever. I usually have to delete and te download the app to get it to work and even then it won’t. ✓ WARNING : I got a parking ticket because if this appThis app was supposed to make paying for parking much easier and advertises that you will be able to extend your parking meter using your phone, also it should have this nice reminder function that will remind you 15 mins before it expires. I first tried to pay as I am walking away from the car, and it told me I have to be standing right next to the meter to pay, apparently the app uses Bluetooth to connect to the meter and register the payment, so I did, and then I assumed that I will be able to use the “extend” option after I am gone in case I needed to stay longer. And I did need to stay longer than I initially thought , by that time I was already few miles away, and there was no way for me to be able to walk back and make it in time, while the app did not remind me as it was supposed to, I still remembered , so I opened the app in order to hit that “extend” button, but same as the initial payment, even the extend button asked that I should be standing next to the meter, which does not make any sense at by the time I got back to the car , I found a $63 parking ticket in my windshield I used ParkMobile at new port beach just the day before and it was way much better , I was able to pay, extend , receive reminders and even save the location of my park, this app is no way close to that The developers should reimburse me for the $63 ticket!.Version: 3.0.29.0

It lacks a crucial feature of allowing a cloud-based connection with the meter to extend parking time. As a result, I ended up with a $63 ticket because I couldn’t extend my parking through the app. The developers urgently need to secure funding and implement technology that enables remote connection to the meter, regardless of proximity. The current reliance on Bluetooth technology is highly inconvenient. If you’re just a few feet away from the meter, you can reconnect, but if you’re further, you have to physically run back to the meter to extend your parking time. This limitation defeats the purpose of having a parking app in the first place, especially when meetings or events unexpectedly run longer than planned. I hope the developers take this feedback seriously and improve the app’s functionality to make it more user-friendly and practical for everyday use. ✓ GlitchyWe were standing next to the meter and it said we had to stand closer to the meter in order to pay for parking. On the app’s GPS service, it showed that we were exactly at the meter. After reading the reviews that this app costs people tickets, we just found a different parking spot and paid using the meter directly. Not sure why this app needs A) to be a whole app, B) needs my phone number and my email address, C) needs access to my Bluetooth, just to not work. Very sketchy.Version: 3.1.3
✓ HorribleI would give it 0 stars if I could. I paid for a meter through this app but ended up getting a ticket because apparently there was a system error through app. I still got charged for the meter and it showed on app that I payed for the time slot but the meter apparently was “expired” because of the error. I called to contest it but they said it was passed the statue of limitations for contesting. I had proof on Park Smarter app but apparently that wasn’t enough. Now I have to pay $181 for a late parking ticket that I should never have been ticketed for..Version: 3.1.2

✓ Made me miss my train...I went to park at a nearby train station which I hadn’t been to before. I figured parking would have some sort of onsite kiosk to pay. Boy was I wrong! It was all metered, meaning I’d have to dump a ridiculous amount of quarters into the meter to cover being gone for the day! But thank goodness the spots were also covered by the Park “Smarter” app! The setup was very convenient with the app crashing every 60 seconds. Once I had entered the complete profile of my car and payment info, the app would not allow me to select an amount of time no matter what I entered. Full day? Nope. Half a day? Nope. 3 hours? Nope. Just 1 hour? Nope. EVERY SINGLE OPTION WAS GREYED OUT. Since I had spent 30 minutes trying to get this hot garbage to work, I missed my train. Thanks Park “Smarter”!!.Version: 3.0.4.0
✓ Used it...and got a parking ticketI used the app to pay for parking in Marina Del Rey yesterday. The meter suggested the use of the app for paying the parking fee. On my return to the car, I saw the envelope containing the parking ticket — the time on the ticket was about 1 hour before the expiration of my time in the stall. The company operating this app should provide a means for solving this issue rather than me spending the time and effort to contest the app. Before app deployment, all these logistical challenges should be addressed..Version: 3.0.15
✓ Poor performanceThe performance of the app in searching for meters is very poor. Usability is just ok. For example: when you are selecting the time to park, select 1 day... something is loading and takes few seconds to load the info. If you wanna select 1 day to 0 days again need to wait for few seconds . Putting 20 quarters is 2 times faster than using this app for sure..Version: 3.0.16
✓ Waste of TimeWhen the app works at all, it’s a miracle. If it worked as intended, it’s nice to have… convenient. But it never works. So the user experience is maddening. ✓ App doesn’t work well and why do I need an account to sign upWhy do all cities need different parking apps!!?! Living in San Francisco the app we use there does not require me to be signed in or put in any of my information: email or phone number unless I want to. I just want to pay for the meter and go. Also why are there two meters with the same ID #?! I had to say I was in Burlingame and not Athens Ohio. Than it said I could only add up to 40 mins and the meter would expire in 3pm which was two hours from now. According to the meter it was going to expire in 5 mins This app is horrible. ✓ This app cost me time and moneyUsing this app was truly a miserable experience. I normally use coins to park in the meters in Metuchen New Jersey, but one day I was out of coins and decided to give the app a try. It only gave me the option to park for the minimum amount of time ( an hour and 35 minutes) Or the maximum amount of time (three days). Since I needed to park for 12 hours, this was a problem. However, I discovered you can add time after the initial time, so I was able to get it up to above 12 hours. Somehow the combination I chose ended up with 14 1/2 hours on the meter. Now I say on the meter, but there was no actual time on the meter. I wasn’t worried because the app told me that the time would appear shortly, and since I had a train to catch I put my faith in technology. This was a bad idea. When I got back to my car there was a ticket for $40, and still no time on the meter. I spoke to the parking authority and they canceled the ticket, and told me that other customers that had similar problems..Version: 3.0.4.0
✓ App glitches frequently wouldn’t even botherI’m in the central downtown Madison area and I’ve been paying parking with this app for over 2 years. I usually don’t leave reviews but decided that i’m going to leave one this time in hopes of them seeing that their app isn’t as what it used to be. Recently, this app has gone downhill, and has also costed me many tickets. The app now just does not load, signs me out and won’t sign me back in, or loads but states that any parking meter you select in the area has “reached the maximum time”. Being that I’m in a heavy populated area, with limited parking opportunities, it’s key that we can use an app like Park Smarter to quickly and efficiently pay the meters. This app just doesn’t have the use of this anymore, and I wouldn’t recommend this app if you live in populated area like me. Just pay at the meter, and hopefully have a good day not worrying about a ticket because park smarter decided not to load in your area..Version: 3.1.3
✓ Didn’t workI download it and install the app, entered the parking meter number, and went through the process of loading my credit card in and my license plate number. Then when I tried to process, it just said please try again later it’s not working right now. ✓ Terribly slow, not easy, and invasiveAwful app. Tried to pay for parking in Rapid City, SD while visiting and this app made it extremely difficult. I am not even sure if I successfully did it, and after giving the app the first and middle names of my first, second, and third unborn children in the registration process, I now cannot login because it says that I don’t have an account. ✓ Not a great app at allFound that the app was for Union Station; download and interface seemed easy; went through the setup process; then bought a parking space and it changed my location from KCMO to Akron OH; the App is so slow that basic commands like changing the location takes multiple minuets and when trying to wrangle a two toddlers- not cool. ✓ Waste of timeWhat’s the point of downloading this app and adding all your info in it if you’re not able to pay from a different location. If I have to walk back to my car I might as well just use my card at the meter. I went all the way to my car only to have to go back to get my card and add it to my account because auto fill doesn’t work on this app. By the time I got my card the app timed out so I had to go back outside again just to use my card during a VERY busy meeting/press conference that I had to attend. This app is trash. It only works through Bluetooth if you’re standing next to the meter..Version: 3.1.3
