Music Practice Log - Tracker for Positive User Reviews

Um... Wow. This. Is. Exactly. What. I’ve. Been. Looking. For!This is really exactly what I’ve been looking for! there is so much to practice and i’ve been wanting a way to keep track pf it all. i actually like the granularity of it all. i can really hone down on things and focus on mastering each aspect of my practice. i like that i can rate my progress. i really like that i can set up different practice sessions. seriously, thank you for making this!.Version: 2.1

👍This is a great game, the best part is that there are not pit stops 😁.Version: 2.1

Pretty goodWith this app you can set up practice routines of exercises and repertoire. The stats allow you to keep track of your practice and bask in the warm glow of job done. Each page is clearly laid out. You can also use it to generate random practices- though I never use this. It's occasionally a bit puzzling maybe: you effectively have to select items twice, once to 'use for practices' and then again to include in a 'custom practice'. This can lead to some to-ing and fro-ing between pages. But all in all a useful practice tool..Version: 1.5.2

PerfectExactly what I was looking for. My practice time is now focused..Version: 2.1

All I wantThis is very easy to use. 99% intuitive and with a good help function/YouTube vid for a few things that aren’t intuitive. Just has all I want for logging how much time I spend on different pieces and scales. Seems to motivate me to practise more. Lots of scope for categorising and adding practice notes. The random practice function is great for a scale/arpeggio warm up. Works on my ancient iPhone 5s :).Version: 2.5.0

Good App, butI really like the way that this app works, but it crashes a lot when trying to create new categories:.Version: 2.5.0

Very helpfulMy New Year’s resolution (2019) was to practice sax or clarinet 6 hours a week. I treated myself to this app to help me monitor progress. Once you get it set up, it’s easy to use and seems fairly intuitive to me..Version: 2.1

Just the ticketJust downloaded this app and after set up and review of all the features it has exceeded my expectations. Nice interface, does everything you would want. Thanks for putting it together. Now off I go to practice in a more ordered manner!....Version: 2.1

Good butI’ve used this app for a couple of years and the practice log is great but unfortunately on two occasions all my statistics were lost and can’t be restored..Version: 2.5.0

First days positiveSo far this app has helped me to get my music practice organised and productive. I’m still trying to have the practice sessions flexible for me to move about. Still looking for a solution to that..Version: 2.3.1

Almost great…Very good, I like it. Gives structure to a practice session and stops me indulging the parts I like! What would be great would be a (switchable) sonic alert as you complete your allocated time for each practice period, I can’t believe it hasn’t got this. Without it, I have to keep looking at my phone, which can be annoying when the periods are very short, such as for a scale..Version: 2.5.0

Music practice log app reviewThis app is just what I was looking for. No more messing with my old thick notebook for logging practice. It has a user friendly interface. Easy to use. This app makes me want to practice more..Version: 2.1

Great App for Parents with multiple kidsI was looking for an app to help me track all of my children’s music practice. I have three children with different instrument. Each teacher has different focus areas for my children. This app is very helpful for me to keep track of all of their practices tests..Version: 2.1

Simple and on point - perfectThis app is perfect to put some structure in your practice. It has very simple interface and easy to use. Workflow it creates is just amazing - you start a practice session, choose what you want to work on and you are good to go! People who don’t like it just don’t know what they want or what this app is for. I would pay $10 for it without second thought. Few suggestions to developer: - When starting a practice session, app hijacks sound (i.e. Music pauses). Likely because of metronome. I think this is unacceptable - what if I want to play along? - I would like have option to remove metronome from timer screen, it’s distracting with its [play] button. - Capitalization of first letters in item names is annoying, have to tap shift before each word - Need option to export practice log. JSON, XML or any other easy to parse format will work. - I would like to be able to order practice items manually, same as categories and subcategories. - When choosing items for practice, allow to check several items in the same subcategory. Otherwise I have to drill down inside the same subcategory 10 times if I want to select 10 items. - Would be nice to have “expected duration” for each practice item, so app beeps or changes UI background color or something (will not hear beep when playing, music is too loud, same reason why metronome is useless). Or just make item’s notes be visible, so I can put expected duration there. - It would be nice to be able to go back in your practice. I noticed that I’m tapping Next instead of Start a lot and there is no way of going back. Would be useful to just be able to work extra time on some previous items when necessary. After some more time with the app, this is super important. Maybe allow to swipe left-right to go back and forward? Thanks for the app, keep it up!.Version: 2.1

Love the app.Uncluttered and classy interface. Good functionality. I had a couple of questions about its use, contacted the developer and he replied on the same day. Also, great feature that it can back-up to iCloud. Great stuff!.Version: 2.4.0

Very good! This is a really useful app, allowing you to set up different practice plans for different instruments. It’s very easy to use, intuitive to set up, and works reliably and consistently well. My only grumble would be that, although it allows you to track time spent overall practising, it doesn’t enable you to see time spent practicing individual elements, which would be useful to know whether you are spending more time on one thing and not enough on another, for example. But in general it’s good, and probably the best available at the moment - it hasn’t been updated for quite some time now, and could do with some additional features to make it great..Version: 2.5.0

Great little app!I needed a way of managing practice time across piano, clarinet and 2 saxophones. This app offers an easy way of doing just this! It would be 5 stars except for a couple of minor issues: - I haven’t yet worked our how to sync info between my iPhone and iPad; - there isn’t a way of pausing a practice - eg for when the phone rings. You have to stop that session, and then start another one? Updated to 5 stars .... 2 days later. Gary has been extremely helpful, email conversation to sort above issues:-). App needs iCloud Drive enabled before app is installed for sync to work, and it is possible to pause during practice by tapping the timer! Many thanks Gary!.Version: 2.1

Great app especially for the priceThis app took a bit of practice itself, to understand how to set it up. But, after entering a standard practice session, some exercises, and songs I’m working on, it is quick and simple to use. For only $4 this app lets me track what I’m practicing and how much time I’m putting in. Because it uses iCloud, it doesn’t matter if I use my iPhone, or iPad, the same information is there. With some other apps requiring expensive subscriptions, I’m very happy using this one, even if I have to use a few others to supplement it. Thanks for making a very thoughtful and useful app at a reasonable price!.Version: 2.2.1

A great app for pactising...This has certainly improved over the time that I’ve been using it. The leaning curve is no easy - darn right frustrating a times. But after trying similar apps this is the best in my view. A suggestion: can we have different colours for each instrument. That would stand out more in the logs. Thanks - keep up the good work..Version: 2.4.0

Amazing appThis app is really amazing for helping organize and focus practice! There are a few bug issues like when I set times, some of the tasks squish down where I can’t really read the name..Version: 2.5.0
