Boom: Bass Booster & Equalizer for Negative User Reviews

So buggy and no real shuffleI’ve been using Boom on my desktop for years and love it, but there are so many problems with the iOS iteration. First of all the interface is incredibly clunky not easy to navigate at all. I’ll hear a song and want to see the artist or album and I have to press like 12 extra buttons and scroll to do so. The shuffle is not a true shuffle because the 2nd song is always the very first alphabetical song in my library. And then it plays things in order even when it’s on shuffle. Almost all of my songs are songs are Apple purchases (meaning Boom effects can’t be applied) but they only recognize a random few as such. It freezes constantly and the main play screen with the circular artwork is so ugly. Just show me the entire square artwork. When it works, the sound adjustment is amazing but the interface is so so so clunky and there are 3 many bugs with this app. Can somebody please recommend a comparable replacement that actually works?.Version: 1.2.6

Dreadfully slowThe app takes forever to load anything from Tidal so is incredibly frustrating and usually ends in closing the app to use Tidal directly. Another app that doesn’t live up to expectations, even if they are fairly low to start with.Version: 3.0.4

What happened???Was working great flawless sound, smooth, clear but now since the last 2 updates the sound is not the same as before so my question.... what happened??? Now it sounds not so smooth not so clear and not flawless. Honestly it sounds like its trying too hard.... the bass sounds cheap and distorted but before it sounded great. So please go back to the way it was I'm now stuck with the standard music app but I love this one..Version: 1.2.1

IgIt’s not terrible. I wish it would be compatible with Apple Music - the whole reason I downloaded it - however I do like how it sorta my music into genre. Some songs are out in completely wrong genres though. Could use some work :).Version: 2.6.9

Doesn’t work with IPhones.Refuses to play music...crashes the second you try to play it....it’s not my phone....I have an 11 Pro that works just fine. You need to fix your app before you continue charging your customers..Version: 2.3.2

Never told me about a song limitI was just trying to play my music, when I see that it’s not bass boosting my song. I checked to see what happened and it said song limit reached. When I got this app, it never told me about a song limit. This is just stupid..Version: 2.2.4

DarnMan your iq is lownto think I will buy premium, and you're not actually thinking a 4 yr old would have the money to buy premium,I am a nine year old who is the smarted in my class, so I do not recommend to download.Version: 2.6.3

BuenoLo malo es que no funciona con Apple Music ☹️.Version: 2.2.6

Speechless and dumbfounded!!If it was possible to leave no star, that will have been my option. Nonetheless a great app after passing through the demo songs, I was immediately convinced this is what I needed. The app left me scratching my head just when it is about to launch the freshly, first time downloaded app, I was greeted with “Free Trial Expired!! You have finished your 3 day fee trial!!! What?!!! Not even the 7!!! I just downloaded the app with AppStore still indicating on the top left corner of my screen! Then I found out songs bought from Apple Music was useless! But it has CarPlay that don’t work either because of DRM! Are the developers hoping one day Apple will switch off the DRM? Should be clear with these things from the beginning rather than being ambiguous with the bells and whistles of the the app..Version: 2.6.10

Purchased app but subscription needed !!!Purchased this app and now they want me to pay a subscription to use the full version of the app, I understand the extra costs in development and would gladly pay a reasonable price to add the new features but everything is subscription subscription subscription which I am not willing to pay. I have purchased the windows version of Boom for my laptop which I am pleased with. I have purchased many apps in the past which have had many features added at no extra cost to me as an existing customer for example Infuse Pro a video player and streaming app I purchased in 2016, they have added loads of features like streaming, I can access media on my nas system anywhere in the world which was not available when I purchased the app, they are constantly adding features and I receive regular emails where they say as an existing customer I will get access to all new features at no extra cost..Version: 2.3.3

No music - just adsHorrible app. Every time I use the app it stops my music playback and makes me LISTEN to and WATCH video ads blasting in my ears. The music organization is also awful: want to listen to your favourite artist? Can’t - you can only listen to random songs by said artist. To listen to an album you have to back out and go to albums then search for the album name and then play it - in between all the loud ads and videos. Unbelievable. I would never pay for the premium app when they force ads through your music to coerce you into getting the paid version. Terrible..Version: 2.6.4

Absolutely waste of moneyIt’s been over 2 months since I’ve purchased this app and until date I’m unable use cause of a bug in the app which skips songs after every 10-12 seconds. On approaching the support team they have no fix to this bug and simply sending me emails saying we are still investigating. I demanded for a refund and they don’t even have courtesy to respond to that..Version: 1.4.7

Not worth the money, very sad I bought it!It used to support more services, but now it hardly supports any apps so it's basically become useless. Oh well, there's $40 thrown in the garbage. Tried to get a refund from Apple, but nope (Apple doesn't like trials or refunds, so yeah...). I'd say hard pass!.Version: 2.7.2

Laggy, spamy, full of pop upsEvery time i open this app, either it is frozen, slow, buggy, or some pop up comes asking to update or buy their radio subscription..Version: 1.3.12

Has too many bugsWhen I first got this app, it was amazing - it gave me a completely new refreshing way to listen to music. But now it's tiring and uninspiring because it won't let me make a playlist or add to play next - it copies everything from my iTunes which is fine, I just think there is more potential. Also the random option isn't even random, I basically know what is going to play next. Also one of the really annoying things is that the bass completely shifts and changes to a new song and you can tell. So it was worth it at the beginning but now I'm sick of it and don't really want to listen to music, it is so draining!!!.Version: 1.1

I liked the appI used to like the app, I could use my Spotify to connect and listen to music, now when I returned to the app, Spotify wasn't an option and I couldn't search anything within Boom. I was disappointed to see this change and I hope the Spotify option will return soon. - Blizzy.Version: 2.6.8

Missing clarityI recently purchased this app after being advertised in a tech magazine. However I must admit it's not worth the money. When the bass kicks in the artists sound goes down. Sound clarity & crispness is missing. I've a beats headphone and same music sounds great on the default music app on iPhone..Version: 1.2.1

No mention of DRM restrictionsI’ve been a Boom! customer for years on iMac (desktop) and believe it’s one of the best products on the market at any price. The app for iPhone is unfortunately lacking. Due to DRM restrictions, iTunes blocks your ability to use Boom’s effects on a lot of songs effectively making the app worthless for a sizable chunk of my music collection even though I PURCHASED these albums and songs. *** It would’ve been nice to know this before I purchased a 6-month subscription to Boom!*** I can’t say I’m upset with Boom as it’s the fault of iTunes being a tight wad. But being more transparent about what you can and can’t do with the app would be a good start..Version: 2.6.4

Great app unfortunatelyGreat app Unfortunately when using it in on desktop it’s great because you can use it on any sound! Unfortunately when using it on mobile you can only use it if you have specific music applications like Apple Music etc or using boom music or radio unfortunately if your like me and don’t use any of them you use the app Musi to listen to your music you can’t use things like this :(.Version: 3.0.10

I m so sorry to rate this 1The reason why I rated it 1 is because I don’t know how to add the music of IOS and how to get the music anyways it also didn’t let me post the feedback:( also how do you get the music on IOS?.Version: 2.2.6

Tidal - Low numbers of available tracksA great app for those tracks that I can see but I’ve no idea how it’s determining which tracks from my Tidal Hi-Fi+ account to integrate into the Boom app. Loads of my Tidal playlists are missing and there’s no clear correlation between those that are visible and those that aren’t. And yes I’ve been through all the FAQs about the types of files that it won’t play. This could be a great app but it just appears very limited in what it’ll play..Version: 2.6.7

Decent app but lots of bugsAs written it does its job quite well, very good eq and boost capabilities. However there are loooots of bugs that bothers me every day, for example, track length bar shows total nonsenses (shows that a song is going to finish but in reality half of the song is left); recently played song list is also random (some of the tracks are added and some are missing); also UI could be a little more efficient but it is OK at the moment..Version: 1.3.12

Almost PerfectI just purchased the Boom for my iPhone and so far I love it with one huge exception. I obviously use this app in place on the default iPhone music player, so that I can take advantage of the EQ functionality. So, I get into my car, fire up Boom and start listening to music and everything is fine.. I can control the music (next/previous, volume up/down using the controls on my steering wheel) just like I can using the standard iPhone music app. However, occasionally boom will reach a song in my playlist that it claims cannot be EQ'd due to DRM (which is fine), so it plays the song anyway (just without any EQ functionality) - the problem is, whenever that happens, I lose all control to the app, meaning I have no way to control it anymore from my steering wheel buttons. This requires me to kill the app, and restart it, and everything is fine again. So, this is a really annoying bug, and I hope you can fix it soon!.Version: 1.2.5

4 months to answer?Boom took more than 4 months just to tell me that "Boom" doesn't work with DRM tracks and apple doesn't allow them to be used either. My current question is....why boom didn't tell me 6 months ago not to pay extra because I won't be able to use my tracks using boom. Such a disgrace!!!! Apple "app store" team should have a look at this. I want my money back from boom team for selling me upgrade with miss-information. PS: I am not even an "apple music" subscriber. I buy my songs and download them in my phone to listen in my iPhone..Version: 1.2.6

Don’t buy this – it’s disastrous.I have never downloaded an app as bad as this before. And I paid for the pleasure. It worked ok for about a week, then it just created so many problems. Both on my phone and laptop I’m still trying to get rid of Boom files because they have overridden sound settings on both devices. Can’t use headphones of any other sound outputs, Boom tries to override everything. Now months later and still finding files that create new problems. An absolute disaster, please avoid at all costs, especially the very high ticket price..Version: 2.2.4

Streaming FLAC files from Google DriveThis app allows me to stream FLAC music from the cloud ,(which I was pleasantly surprised by) however the stream stutters and fails to play the track without multiple pauses. The only to fix this issue for me is to download the song. I have another app that don’t require me do so in order to play my music smoothly from my Drive, I.e. VOX Music Player. Unlike VOX, Boom allows for sophisticated 3D audio with all headsets as well as having a lower subscription price. If the devs could fix this streaming issue they would easily be just as good if not better than VOX. I’m a lifetime subscriber btw. Update: I logged back into the app and got a message claiming that I was trying to play an “unsupported” file type. I’ve never had this issue when streaming the songs directly through my Drive, VLC Media Player, or VOX music player. If it weren’t for the EQ I’d probably regret becoming a subscriber..Version: 2.4.2

???Even tho I have paid for this application I'm still getting advertising posts. Unpleasant..Version: 2.6.1

GreatGreat on headphones, the app is a little bit slow at bringing up the album art. To be honest I’ve gone back to the Apple app for music now as I feel it’s less hassle and works faster and smoother. Plus I was using on my Mac and it completely blew one of my speakers. They even had the nerve to write to me after I left my review saying what happened and said that it was probably a hard ware issue. I would advise strongly about buying this for the Mac as it can put the sound up to a level which the hardware can’t handle and you could live to regret your choice. The software on Apples are perfectly aligned for their hardware, Apple know what they’re doing. It is great on headphones on the Mac though having said all that..Version: 1.2.6

Bit of a con reallyOn headphones it's alright but just slight 3D with reverb from what I heard. Don't fall for the before and after rubbish either. Tried with B&O system, the before is set to deliberately sound bad. After was ok but lacked mid clarity. Honestly setting your equaliser gets better results. 6 other people tried after me and found the same. The player was slow and glitchy and can't play drm music. Honestly I wouldn't take this app for free never mind pay an ongoing subscription..Version: 1.3.5

Quick easy presetsThis app’s strength is that you can apply effects quickly, at the touch of a button, and bit does a good job. For fine grained control you can manually bring up an equaliser and create your own presets. It’s designed to work with headphones and overall does a good job. It’s weakness is the UI - touch elements are very small, making one handed use very difficult. Even on iPad adjusting the volume often slides the entire page left or right due to the way it’s designed. It could benefit from copying the design of Apple’s Music app. However overall a very good little app that provides great presets out of the box..Version: 1.3.6

Good App, but sell only sell membership subs.I want to buy remove ad and effect pack. But No more sell. Only 1 year, half year, 1month subs. Too greedy..Version: 2.0.5

Over priced, fiddly and limitedIt would be ok as a one off purchase, but the subscription model means this is way over priced once you get past the first year. What I really wanted was a system wide eq, but this isn’t possible due to the limitations of iOS. I mainly used it with Tidal which mostly worked, although it’s a much worse experience than using the Tidal app directly. The 3D stuff is mainly a gimmick, it just messes up the sound in most cases, though it can sound surprisingly nice on some material. Generally to be avoided though. The eq is weirdly annoying to work with being difficult to draw in precise corrections. Overall, hard to recommend due to the pricing model, limitations, bugs and gimmicks, I won’t be renewing. But if you really need to eq Tidal or non streaming Apple Music, it does offer an option I’ve not seen elsewhere..Version: 2.0.8

MisleadingI would like a full refund. The product is useless with my music..Version: 2.6.10

Needs improvementI like the app but the one thing that I'm a little disappointed about is it doesn't count the number of plays for a song (on the built in iPhone music app, each time a song is finished, the counter adds one to the number of plays. It adds however many plays for a song to iTunes since the last time you synced your phone with your computer.) I personally like to keep track of my progress, so if it wasn't for that I would still use this app for listening to music. Also, the visualizer during when a song is played is kinda slow and doesn't look as smooth as I hoped for. I'm not an expert programmer or anything but these sound pretty easy to fix. Once it is then I'll definitely give this 4 to 5 stars as well as use this app more often..Version: 1.2.1

Every time I turn off my phone it skips so many songsSo I was listening to music while I was doing stuff and I decided to turn off my phone but keep listening to music and when I put my phone in my pocket, the app starts skipping so many songs and doesn’t stop. Please fix this..Version: 2.2.3

Great sound, not so great appReally like the sound that comes out of here. Highly customizable and makes my music awesome. But ...the app is pretty bad. Slow and buggy. Hopefully they improve it over time but nowhere near as fast and clean and easy as the stock iOS music app.Version: 1.0.7

Where’s my Full Subscription?I used to use this app 5 years ago, and I bought the lifetime listening pass. Then y’all changed the subscriptions and I lost my subscription. Do I really have to pay $40 for the lifetime subscription again?.Version: 2.6.2

Asking for a refundI got this app last night to try to find a stop-gap fix for a problem with the highs on my AirPods Pro being too shrill. I knew it wouldn’t be an across the board fix, but expected it to work right. First off, I discovered that it forces you to use it as your music app from now on, and the GUI is ugly and rustic. I hit into errors with locally stored iTunes purchases with it thinking they were Apple Music streaming selectively, and refusing to equalize it all- some will, some it won’t touch and give a DRM error. It also scrambled all the artists, albums, and songs, alphabetizing everything individually, making nothing easy to find. In short, it’s useless. It’s particularly upsetting because when I tried to do the free trial, I got hit with a scammy popup telling me that if I bought a lifetime subscription this very moment, it would be on super sale. So I never even got the free trial to see if it was good or not, in fear of overpaying for something that I could be stuck using for a long time. Apple should make those one chance only sale buy before you try offers against the App Store rules! I’ve written in asking for a refund this evening, but considering that I’m still waiting for a reply from yesterday’s support request, it’s most likely going to take a while before I get assistance..Version: 2.6.3

Crashes often - but really nice equalizer- need a crossover fadeI just purchased this app, it worked fine until I hit about 60 songs added to it. After it crashed and removed all the album corners on each song. Then it didn’t want to reload the next day. Needs improvement but sounds really good. Keep updating guys!!! Hopefully you can fixes these suggestions…needs crossover fader in the playlist area..Version: 2.7.2

HmmmmTellement de jug la plupart du temps la playlist arrête de jouer et obliger de repartir l’application et même des fois les playlist embarque pas dans Boom.Version: 2.2.3

Perfect if only…This is a solid app doing what it says. There is one big shortcoming for me though. It would be so much more usable if there was a way of making whole folder playable off-line or at least had a feature to select all songs of the folder in order to make them playable off-line in one click. Making all the songs off-line from a folder of 50 songs is staggeringly unwieldy and time consuming. I paid for life-long license and I asked for this reasonable feature two years ago. It has never been added unfortunately..Version: 2.6.9

Not Boomin’While I absolutely love Boom 3D and it’s performance on my laptop, I’m a little underwhelmed at it’s capabilities as a phone app, particularly it’s inability to apply to Apple Music which it does without problem via laptop. I would consider buying the full version if this was rectified..Version: 2.2.1

Nowhere as good as boom for MacI got boom for Mac and was impressed by the spectacular improvement in sound quality. I can’t say the same for the iPhone iPad version; sound improvement is not really perceptible and the media player has a very poor, clunky and time consuming interface. So I cancelled the trial subscription. Hope you can improve things in the future..Version: 1.4.7

Great sound but vey glitchyI like the sound well enough that I bought it but the iPhone app still has massive problems. The basic controls are not functioning properly. The button to skip backwards to the last song almost never works. The time readout is never correct, sometimes showing that a song is over an hour long and has timed out at the same time. The app will suddenly start skipping to other songs while you’re in the middle of listening to one. Also, the sound controls are in at least three different places rather than in one place, and good luck trying to find the set you need when want it. It seems like the developers are more concerned with making the app available to as many streaming services as possible rather than first getting the basic controls down. I have had their Imac version for many years and it took almost three years before they got the glitches out of it. I’m sure they will on the phone app but you better have patience waiting for them to get this right..Version: 2.6.9

Would be AMAZINGWould be even better if you could just offer a one-time payment thingy instead of/ or as another option than monthly subscription.Version: 2.1.3

Used to be amazingUsed be amazing but they must have changed the formula or something because now every song sounds distorted and terrible quality :((.Version: 1.3.3

Good butIt’s very good app you do notice the sound difference. BUT dose not support Spotify.Version: 2.7.2

How about being up front with the limitations of your productWhat a terrific app. Why would you think most people would download this app? Maybe to listen to songs in their Apple music library? Do you think? So “boom effects” can’t be used on iTunes music. Brilliant piece of after sales advice there. Well done. So what you are actually selling is a crappy music library organiser and only a “boom” equaliser for anyone who still can be fagged to buy cds and import them into iTunes? And I’m 53 years old and think that’s pretty dumb. Brilliant work.Version: 2.6.10

Only works with wifi7 days trial trash.Version: 2.5.3

Why a subscription?I bought the Mac version - really good but paid a single price. So why do I have to pay a subscription for the mobile version?? Forget it. I’ll go elsewhere..Version: 1.3.5

Great Audio, Ugly AppThe audio effects are GREAT. Seriously. They make all audio sound amazing. I have two issues with the app though. The first is the design. It’s ugly and it’s cumbersome. Swiping up and down, left and right, buttons are in the wrong spot up in the notch, or they’re just not responsive. PLEASE update the app to be more modern. It will be a million times better if the design is refreshed to be like a more traditional music player, such as Apple’s stock app. The second issue is that the equalizer requires a subscription. In my opinion, that’s really ugly. I bought Boom 2 for my Macs, and it works great. I’d gladly pay $15 or even $20 for this equalizer and an amazing design. It’d be absolutely worth it. So PLEASE, update the app and take it back to a one time purchase! Thanks!.Version: 1.3.4

Unable to search musicWhen I got to choose a song from my playlist I have to search something up, but when I go to search something up nothing comes up. Please help me!.Version: 1.0.1

Already paid for the original boom iOS appLove the boom iOS app with the magical effects pack and also boom and boom 3D for my MacBook Pro and IMac. Why should I pay more for the premium pack or a yearly subscription? The developer is getting greedy..Version: 1.3.7

Needs more workWould love to rate this more as the idea is good, sadly IMO there was more bass when it was turned off , i have a SE 2020 and it’s the first phone you can actually feel the bass when holding…. Not worth paying for.Version: 2.5.2

Why?Not only does this app confuse me, but the positive reviews about “making music sound better” do too. All this app does is make your music sound as though you’re listening to some mediocre speakers from too far away. I mean, seriously, nothing about what I was hearing made me think I was having a positive experience, it was the complete opposite in fact..Version: 1.4.6

BOOM or BUST randomly skips forwardAfter researching EQs for ios & streaming music service, I downloaded BOOM ... to my disappointment every few songs it randomly skips forward during playback to the next track, very frustrating & is a deal crusher for me after the 7 day trial is up, unless they can fix this bug... (iphone 8+ ios 14.2 with Tidal premium).Version: 2.2.6

Purchase bugPaid for subscription, apple charged me, issued a receipt, the app says there was no purchase while I’m supposed to be using my trial period. No reply from app support. How should this be fixed? Thank you..Version: 1.4.7

Disappointed.First off, I only wanted to try and then purchase the app for the sound enhancement feature. After the trial period, it turns out this app is subscription based and not a one time purchase. I don’t need streaming services. The option to use the sound enhancement for my own personal music library is all I need. Secondly, the app doesn’t extend the actual volume limit of the iPhone unlike the desktop version does so what’s the point. Sound effects don’t mean anything unless the volume is actually enhanced. Thr ability to enhance the volume limit is the reason I purchased this app for my iMac and my MacBooks. Very sadly and unfortunately- this feature is NOT available for this mobile device version! No good 👎🏻.Version: 1.3.13

Spotify?I used this app for Spotify a bit while back and got a 1 year subscription downloaded the app today and Spotify is gone what do I do with the subscription I bought.Version: 2.7.2

Return my moneyI paid Lifetime for an app that gave me access to Apple Music and Spotify, now nothing. really disappointing to find developers who take your money and then just apologize for their incompetence.Version: 2.6.9

Does not work with Apple MusicThis app does not work with Apple Music..Version: 2.6.2

Great experience by is there a glitch?Boom is an amazing app that gives the boom to your music experience and gives you the access to most your libraries. But I had a problem with TIDAL streaming. When I was listening to my TIDAL playlist it just kept randomly skipping songs. I never got past a quarter of any song and it skips to the next by itself. I also found with TIDAL the app can only stream and won’t access the music I downloaded. I found this very annoying since I now can only listen to my iTunes musics with less sound quality. Can anyone help me on this?.Version: 1.4.1

So Disappointing!!!I bought the boom3d MacBook software and I’m so pleased so I obviously thought this is same as on laptop like it’s dress up on my music and sound all over laptop but unfortunately the iphone version is so unfriendly. First of all there’s only dark theme and no clear white which is terrible and I’m really having problems reading so unfriendly. Secondly it does not dress on my iPhone library music but wants me to use it’s library. Instead of just adding the fabulous equalizer system to my already playlists on my default iPhone which is much more friendly for looking at and more simply. Thirdly the visualizer is so idiotic... what is this? I’m not a kid in the 80s in NY with stereo on my shoulder. Get serious...Hey... make your version user friendly and then I’ll buy it! For now it shadows the laptop version but in a bad way! Too bad..Version: 1.4.7

Misleading.I tried this app and listened to a few of my songs from within the app and at 1st was very impressed at the sound quality when the effect is enabled. Within the app you can turn the effect on and off and the quality of all tracks was much improved with the effect on. But, I soon realized what was happening. My music sounds flat when listening from within the app with the effect disabled. But if I listen to the same track on my built in player on my iPhone the track sounds great without the app. So from what I can tell turning the effect switch off within the app intentionally degrades the sound quality of my track in effort to make the effect impressive. The switch does not compare the effect with the sound of my built in audio. Very misleading. I will not be keeping this app..Version: 1.2.1

No timer, no better. There used to be a timer which was great for going to sleep with but now I can’t find it anywhere. This version isn’t an improvement, the previous version was better and easier to use. It confounds me why there always has to be another “bigger, better” version. If it already works and works well, why muck around with it? To be honest it’s rare to see a new version of something that is better than the old one. Take another look at your design..Version: 2.2.4

Rip offI bought this app several months ago and i’ve been using it daily since trying out several similar apps, in my opinion this was the best of the bunch. A few days ago this app was updated and now I find that I have to pay to continue using it to its full potential (something I had already been doing previously). I was quite happy with this app before the update, but now it’s going to cost me to continue using it, i’d better start looking for another one instead from a developer who isn’t going to charge me twice. Reply to Developer Response: But I can’t continue using it as before. The last time I opened the app, all of my applied effects and settings switched off and when I tried to switch them back on a popup message saying that I could only turn them back on if I subscribe. Problem is, my music sounds awful with none of the effects applied and I don’t see why I should have to pay again for something i’ve already paid for..Version: 1.3.2

Spotify doesn’t workI had this app for my iPhone 11 Pro 3 years ago and Spotify worked and now it no longer works as I no longer have that iPhone 11 Pro. I use my iPad and my iPhone XR and Spotify does not work. It doesn’t show up on the left side like iTunes. Disappointing….Version: 3.0.2

Need a speaker mode! Now this app is only for headphones, and that’s not enough! We need car play!!!.Version: 2.3.1

Good app, but popping sound with tidalGood app, but keep earring popping when listening to tidal on iPhone. Also, mixer good but it lack a precise sound control..Version: 2.3.3

Tidal BrokenTidal doesn’t work - reason I downloaded fails. Skips tracks constantly. Library and radio ok but Tidal was the big draw. If this was fixed it would be good.Version: 1.4.4

TerribleIf I could give it a zero I would... the app pens and after 30 seconds just shuts off. What is the point if the connection is so flaky that you cannot use. I did like the product to download and buy it but it just seems it’s just a dead app until this is fixed by the developers. Please sort if you want me to change my review....Version: 2.4.2

Help can somebody please , helpI really love this app, but I’m so frustrated to the point I’m thinking of canceling my subscription and dumping this app altogether! Why, because I’ve gone round and round and around and round until I don’t know what to do except accept that this fight is fixed. Boom will not all the songs in my library. It use to up until a year or so ago whether it’s songs I purchased from iTunes or music I downloaded into my library or songs that I’ve written and recorded, it arbitrarily chooses what songs it will play. I’ve talked with apple and my phone carrier and nothing anyone suggested worked. So of course they are saying it has be a issue with Boom . Can I please get some help. Thank you.Version: 3.0.2

Won't play tracks after Apple Music tracksCurrently trying with the developer - and it's taking a long time from emailing to getting responses - to actually be able to use this app. The problem is two-fold: 1. Apple Music tracks downloaded to my phone in the Music app sometimes play with sound in Boom and sometimes don't. They ARE playing through, there's just no sound. 2. When an Apple Music track is in a playlist - be it all Apple Music tracks or mixed with purchases - when the Apple Music track ends, Boom does not move to the next track. All music I want to play from Apple Music has been downloaded to my iPhone but Boom shows an icon for it as a cloud track when it isn't. As things stand, Boom will only play tracks from Apple Music as standalones. It will not move to the next track in the queue. It just stops, making it useless to me. Boom will only work to move from one track to the next in a playlist if the playlist is entirely made up of purchased tracks. I made a lifetime purchase of this app and it refuses to work with my downloaded music. I understand the restrictions on EQ and other effects in Boom when it comes to Apple Music but not being able to move from one Apple Music track to the next? That's not acceptable. If I can't get Boom to even play my playlists unless they're made up entirely of purchased music, then I deserve a refund. I really hope the devs can fix this though as my preference would be to support the app and be able to enjoy it..Version: 2.2.1

Could be greatDownloaded the trial a bit ago. If you are using a small speaker (think Alexa) you can realllly enhance the sound to the speaker’s best ability. By far the best app I’ve used. Except...I have about 20 gigs of Apple Music downloaded and some I added to library and some not or whatever causes the DRM Protected error. Only 1 in, being liberal, 20 songs are able to use the apps Effects. It’s on the developers backs to fix this issue which I’m sure everyone is scared off by. I’m not going to reorganize my library and downloads to work with the app- it needs to work with what I have. I’ll gladly change my review and buy the package if this happens—it’s definitely worthy of 5 stars..Version: 1.2.5

Why add different music options? Why add different music options if your not even able to access the music on those platforms? It basically makes the app useless if I'm going to be honest here.Version: 2.2.4

JUST Don't bother... They'll take your money and run.I bought the life time back when it first came out. It was awesome since i had an iPhone and took it with me. It had the sound effects and all, back then they didn't have the"streaming"thing but who cared i had my own music. Well they added a couple of streaming features and a subscription so they thought, well the hell with the costumers that bought lifetime.... To them your lifetime obviously means until they make changes to the app... Now god forbid i do anything without getting the subscription ad popping up and the effects i had purchased for life.. No more can access them, so now it's a useless app in the store. I don't write reviews ever...i had to warn, trust me don't bother👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿.Version: 1.3.14

Why doesn’t has volumeOn the iPod it doesn’t have volume settings but on Mac it does that not fair. This would be a fantastic app if it had the volume control.Version: 2.6.7

Unreliable... and buggyFound this app to be buggy and unreliable a lot of the time. The EQ is great, the best I’ve heard so far so no complaints there. Sometimes the songs just freeze halfway and when I go and close the app and re open it and click play it just starts skipping through all the music I have and then gives me the 10 song limit. Makes me very mad, I feel like the developers put that glitch there on purpose to make people pay for the premium with no song limit. Also, as the developer said in another persons comment about google drive allowing for offline playback... no! I can’t even listen offline after downloading the music because it doesn’t show a song list it just says “check your connection” meaning I can’t listen offline even after downloading all the google drive music I have..Version: 2.2.3

Total con/scam Shouldn’t be allow on the App Store. This app does NOT work with Apple Music and it is not made clear at all. They get you to sign up to a subscription with a great offer of a life time subscription with no refund. You then find out after it doesn’t work with Apple Music. That’s outside of their control but they should make this clearer. This makes it a total con. It’s a shame as the Mac OS app is amazing and oddly works with Apple Music. I’m so annoyed. Make it very clear on the description this does not work with Apple Music..Version: 2.6.9

Um-I don’t hear anything change with the music and there is definitely no “boom”. It doesn’t even work on Apple Music...Version: 2.5.2

AddCan u add compatibility for soundcloud and youtube music.Version: 2.6.1

Not freeFree to download, monthly fee to use..Version: 3.0.8

Enjoyed it but after the recent update it doesn’t workI’ve been using this app for a little over a year now. I liked it, but after the recent update. I can’t open the app every time I synced my tracks from Apple Music. It works when I don’t allow the app to sync my Apple Music, but every time I sync it the app would close and I can’t open it until I desync my Apple Music from the app. I will reconsider giving this app a better review. If they fix this problem..Version: 2.0.5

Love the app but it has a few bugsSurround sound boost sounds fantastic when you can get the app to play the song. Seems to be a big bug in that it classifies some music as playing from the cloud (so no effects) when it is in reality downloaded to your device. On my own device there are several songs that I know are downloaded but show as from the cloud or Apple Music within the Boom app. Sometimes the app will stop playing all downloaded music entirely and will only play the music it thinks is from the cloud or Apple Music. I had to delete the app and reinstall it for it to play the other songs again. App would be a five star app if they could fix those problems..Version: 1.2.4

Monthly sub, really?I’ve enjoyed both Boom 2 and Boom3D on my Mac for many years. It’s one of my indispensable apps that I simply can’t live without. If the iOS version is anything like the Mac app I’m sure it’s excellent quality. But there is simply no way I’m paying monthly for it. If you want to charge me $20 for the iOS version even though that’s far and away higher than most any other utility app costs, sure I’ll pay it. Why? Because Boom is that good. But every year, into infinity? I really don’t think so. I’m so tired of subscriptions and micro-transactions milking every last dime out of loyal customers. The only recourse we have is to speak with our wallet. So no, I’m sorry. Charge a flat rate, charge for upgrades, charge for features we want, yes, all of that. But don’t charge just for the “privilege” of having the app function the way it was intended. Disappointed..Version: 1.3.6

Doesn’t work?I just installed it, and it tried to get me to pay right away, so I tried to get the free trial but every time it pops up it just freezes and the app is impossible to use.Version: 2.2.6

SubscriptionI have just this moment subscribed for 6 months and it doesn’t look like I can enjoy the benefits of the subscription straight away which I was hoping for - the payment is pending - how long does it normally take? Thanks.Version: 1.4.7

Not working Properly and a RIP OFFHow are these companies / individuals allowed to sell something on Apple Apps that does not work as intended..? Shouldn’t someone be accountable for these errors…? The app doesn’t play the majority of tracks, regardless DRM or not, as it continually plays the same tracks over and over repeatedly, regardless of different albums, songs or even artists. It’s so frustrating and annoying to spend and give up £20 of my hard earned money and no one is accountable. Apple should remove the app until the developers fix this issue..Version: 3.0.7

Useless with Apple streaming servicesYou can’t apply it to DRM protected music which is pretty much everything on Apple Music streaming service. So you can only apply it to stuff you’ve ripped from a disc or actually bought on iTunes. To conserve as much space however I choose to only stream from Apple. Fortunately I didn’t have to pay to find this out. Boom is superb on my MacBook pro though. It’s a shame coz I had high hopes for it. :(.Version: 1.2.2

Great app, but...This app is definitely my go-to music app, however there is one area that bugs me; the music library doesn't recognize different discs. This is simple enough to fix in the up next part, but it is quite annoying..Version: 1.2.1

Spotify Equalizer provides better, clearer soundI bought this thinking it would improve my Spotify sound on my iPhone as it does on my MacBookPro but I was somewhat disappointed when I started using it on the iPhone and realized the equalizer on the Spotify app produces better sound than this app..Version: 2.5.2

Constantly crashesGreat sound when it is working but ever other time I open the app it says it’s playing though there’s no sound and nothing is moving. I wouldn’t normally complain but I’m using the paid version and the sound really is good when it happens to be working. Can you fix this bug?.Version: 1.2.5

So much potentialSeems super cool but can't use with Apple Music so there's no point.Version: 1.2.2
