Not Good!Did anyone test this? The message board is almost worthless while a game is going on since you have to go all the way out and then back in to refresh it. It used to take you to the last message you left off at in a thread when you return. Not anymore. And finally, the most idiotic thing. If I go into a message board, don't tell me that I need to tap the top for new threads And only give me half a second to do it on top of that! Just give me the updated threads!.Version: 2.4.110

“Oops, we fumbled”Almost every article I click on lately (a few weeks now) I receive an error message saying “oops, we fumbled”...I pay a lot of money for my rivals subscription. If this isn’t going to be resolved this week I demand a refund. Yahoo needs to dedicate a LOT more time and energy to the Rivals app. Recruiting news is one area where Yahoo is still #1 thanks to Rivals and for being owned by a tech company the app is just simply not cutting it on a regular basis. Constant crashes and issues. Please Yahoo, please..Version: 3.5.327

Trying to do too much.The new UI is terrible. It is not as clearly organized as the last one and creates issues in both reading & posting content. Additionally the update fails to update the threads leaving you often stuck with old threads from a few days ago when it refreshed. The mobile website is 100 times better than this newer "sleek" update. Only thing worse than the UI in this app is Rival's servers!.Version: 2.1.104

Lots of Frustrating IssuesI love my subscription and the rivals board I’m a member of. Having said that, this app constantly has issues. Right now, it does not recognize my subscription on the app, and says I need to “sign in.” When you click “sign in”, you can only subscribe, no log in. I’m also noticing practical issues like articles not loading, click a link and something totally different opens, etc. Really needs attention, as it will cost people actually paying for subscriptions to sights, and that’s not fair to the hard workers who put great content on the site..Version: 3.5.327

This App Has Serious IssuesThis app was clunky to begin with and now every time I try to read an article it says Oops We Fumbled try again later. Does the same thing for all the content. It used to tell me I wasn’t logged in and I needed to sign up and then never gave me an option to login again. Crap programming. I would surmise it isn’t well tested either. iPhone 11 running latest software. Update: Just went to send you screenshots and the email address provided bounced back. Rivalsappfeedback@yahoo doesn’t work per Google..Version: 3.5.327

Version 3.0 won’t recognize PasswordApp was fine for so long then completely stopped working and would crash each time it was opened for the last two months. Finally, a new updated version is out. It works for a couple hours. But now, I can’t access my account claiming my password is wrong even though nothing has changed. Rivals, whether it’s app issues, or server crashes on NSD, there seems to be tech issues I wonder if they’ll ever be solved..Version: 3.0.252

App needs a ton of workApp is terrible. Going to message boards and following along is an experience that makes it not worth interacting. The threads scroll all the way to bottom, you can’t expand messages to read the whole thing, there’s no notifications, etc. Hope they get on this soon or I won’t be renewing my subscription. Not worth the trouble since I just use the mobile app..Version: 3.0.252

Not user friendly and buggy.Two stars because the content is great, would be one otherwise. The app itself, the UX, and design are pretty horrible. If you select one team and close the app, it often resets back to the default rivals page and offers no way to preserve your team of choice. Sometimes, it loads back to your team page. Why? Not sure. Force closing the app makes no difference here. Most recently, I’ve started receiving duplicate notifications. Other times, I’ll look at my phone and the notification for rivals will appear for three seconds and then disappear with nothing in the app notifications all. iPhone X support would be great, but not a must. A legitimately working app would be a start for a service offering a $9.99 monthly subscription. If the above issues are corrected, easily a 5* app..Version: 2.5.111

App needs updated/ keeps crashing when on message boardsJust don’t understand why Rivals hasn’t updated the app for the iPhone X models yet. Looks bad and app keeps crashing when trying to read the message boards. Have to uninstall and reinstall at least two times a week. Other than those two things the app is fine..Version: 2.5.111

Decent app - a bit slow and forums don’t load at firstWhen you first get a subscription and download the app it’s pretty clunky. If you click on a forum it asks you to log in. Once you log in, it sends you back to the forum landing page. Click on a forum and it asks you to log in again. Not functional at all. After like an hour this seems to resolve itself. You still get randomly logged out pretty frequently and have to sign back in, and it’s fairly slow. You also often get notifications from the app and when you click them, nothing happens. Outside of that, it’s a decent app..Version: 3.4.291

Could be much betterThere are many basic functions available from the traditional website log in that are still missing from the app. Sometimes there are many threads on the web site that will not display from the app. Drives me nuts to get an alert that someone has replied to me directly only to find the thread isn’t shown on the app. Usually you can close the app and restart the phone to fix but how often do you want to do that? I’ve had the app for three years now but rarely use it because they never address the issues. OK at best.I rely on my iPhone almost entirely. I rarely have the need for a laptop or desktop computer. Unfortunately, this app needs a lot more help. The settings are a joke they are so limited. Articles don't automatically refresh in the feed. So, you have to go back and forth between screens to get new articles to load. Great sports content though..Version: 2.5.111

App is badThe team site, HuskerOnline, news feed is messed up. At the top of the app, one cannot access or select “Headlines” or “News.” Only “Rivals National”, “HOL Video”, and “Big Red Business” work. Everything is up to date, the app and phone iOS 14.3 installed. **Update** After deleting the app and reinstalling it, it is now functional again..Version: 3.5.318

Not nearly what it used to beI wish I could say this site was as stellar as it was 3 years ago. Not the case though. Glaring errors like not being able to log on during signing day. I still have to log on to the site most times which is very annoying. The video content is extremely lacking and the iPhone version does not allow for the full site view which is beyond annoying. Pure junkThis updated version is junk. You now can no longer have only your team news and bulletin boards. You have to weed through loads of articles you have zero interest in. In fact, it’s so convoluted I can’t even find my teams boards at all. Obviously made by people that don’t follow sports at all. Don’t update to this. You will most likely be sorry you did. After paying $100 per year, I definitely don’t believe I should email anyone to get this app to work proper. Honestly, this is a deal breaker for me. Some annoying things1) when you enter a thread, it takes you to the last post. Why? You then have to scroll all the way up to read. It should start at top the first read and jump to where you left off if you’ve been in there previously. 2) new threads are bold. But if you’ve ever read part of a thread it’s not. It needs to go back to bold if there are new posts. 3) needs a way to skip to bottom or top post without scrolling. 4) still can’t see, create, or vote in polls 5) can’t see alerts like on website when someone quotes you 6) can’t see other people’s profiles 7) links don’t open inside the app, rips you to browser 8) pictures get cut off and you can’t click to expand or zoom 9) once you’re about 2 pages (reloads) deep into threads, the screen starts jumping each time a new thread loads. Basically makes it impossible to view more than the most recent threads 10) no search function.Version: 3.0.252

.I have not been able to view premium content using my subscription for two months. I thought eventually it would get fixed, but ultimately this fumble has led me to move on from Rivals subscription. There are several very responsive competitions now in 2021. Update: this issue resolved itself today after two months. Hardly seems like a coincidence but I’ll take it!.Version: 3.5.327

Yahoo Sports Support is extremely poorThis site has gotten to be very poor since Yahoo Sports has taken to running Rivals. On my iPad, I have to delete and reload almost every time I want to use Gold andBlack on my iPad. When I contacted Yahoo for help, they came up with some wild story about my cookies need to be cleared and to use a different browser. The only problem was that I was using the APP and not the browser. Absolutely no help,,.Version: 3.5.318

Worst App of any kind anywhereI cannot list all the faults with this app that has been existence for many years and just gets worse each new version. Today there is no refresh on the game thread for my teams bowl game. So it is unusable today in biggest game of year. Does not refresh, does not go to first post, font background is now almost 100% white, font size is super small ( cannot read with trifocals). All other apps except this one and web pages are fine. App cancels randomly. I could go in but absolute worst for someone paying 9.95 a month. Will soon look for other options as years of this with no effort to correct is beyond ridiculous..Version: 3.0.252

Needs workI often has issues when trying to watch a video that's been posted to message boards. Sometimes the video decides to play without ever expanding to fit my screen so it makes watching football highlight videos nearly impossible since they're already filmed from far away... Another issue when playing video is they will never orient themselves properly when I turn my phone sideways to expand the size of the video. The video itself will not even recognize that I've turn my phone horizontal, it just keeps playing as if my phone was being held vertically. Every now and then the video will orient itself according to how I'm holding my phone but it's very rare. This is not a phone hardware issue as the problem has persisted on multiple new phones..Version: 2.5.111

GlitchyI'm glad Rivals came out with this app so I don't have to go to Safari, but it is very glitchy. Every single time I exit out of a forum it takes me all the way back up to the top one. It also is very slow and sometimes won't load at all so I have to restart the app. If they can make it have less bugs it could be a great app, but not yet..Version: 1.9.60

Separate The Different SportsPlease separate sports. I am only interested in basketball recruiting. Others may only be interested in football recruiting. Hate getting alerts about a recruit only to find it's not my sport. This should be easy. I'm probably going with 247 as my paid recruiting app next as there is too much fluff here. Also, you are are very slow to update info. I get updates from other services before you. You WERE the best. But you are getting buried. Up your game..Version: 1.9.60

Terrible AppI really dislike the navigation. You cannot refresh a page which means you have to keep going back to see what posts have been added. Most of the other navigation is clumsy to put it nicely. Such as if you go to a link to a story from a forum post it returns you to the story page rather than the post. Etc. etc. There is no way to edit any new posts you write or any comments you make. You have to post the bad typo and then go to their editing tool. But if you don't the cursor in the right spot you are screwed. You also can only edit one issue at a time requiring you to go back in when you have multiple typos. All in all very very disappointing..Version: 1.9.60

Decent but could definitely improveGREAT for just quick access to articles and the forums! Can easily go between the main rivals site and your teams page. Not so great if you want to do anything besides the basics. Specifically for me, the computer model has a menu bar and most importantly, a tab for recruiting that holds all the major info like prospect search or rankings. I haven't even found where this is findable in the app. Definitely the one major thing I wish would change! One more just little thing: when you read a post in the forum and then click back, it takes you to the top of the previous page and that's just annoying if you were far down. But overall it's an above average app for the way I use it!.Version: 1.9.60

Desperately needs a refreshI use this app every day and some frequent issues/concerns that come to mind: Embedded tweets don’t show any media. Polls don’t work at all. No user settings at all. Overall design is tired. Notifications often don’t appear or patch you to the proper post/comment. If you refresh the page, then tap the banner at the top that says “click to show new threads”, it will show duplicates of every single post. Swipe gestures are not intuitive and do not allow for easy backwards navigation. Instead, it either swipes between articles or does nothing. Saving any gifs crashes the app. I pay decent money for the Rivals subscription. I would at least like an app that is updated more than once a year..Version: 2.5.111

App is convenient but still needs workI enjoy reading the articles and message boards on here but am very disappointed that I am unable to see the commitment list and have issues viewing photos that are posted to the message boards. Good at bestApp gets the job done but is still very buggy. I’m not sure it is any better then just going to the site on safari. Also it has not been optimized for iPhone X so there is a gap on the top and bottom of the screen (should be an easy fix). Hope the next update cleans a lot of the problems up..Version: 2.5.111

Several bug issuesThis app is a poor user experience and bug issues are getting worse after each release. I try to access an article and it loads a previously viewed article. I have to back out and reselect the article for it to load correctly. I am logged into the app but when I try to access the Nebraska Tunnel Talk segment it won’t recognize my subscription and locks up. Very frustrating. I will not continue my membership if it does not improve..Version: 3.5.318

App is trash, better than websiteThe app is not good. It is basically just a barely-better version of the website. You don’t get alerts, the message boards don’t refresh automatically, there is a bug that has been around for years that show message board posts as duplicates, etc. it looks like rivals doesn’t invest in this part of their business, so the usability is crap. Update: the app is now forcing me to log in every time I open. Terrible experience, but expected. Update: app is now crashing on launch with an iPhone 11..Version: 2.5.111

Notifications Don’t WorkMy notifications never display, sometimes the “bell” that shows notifications in app will show up and disappear as quickly as it initialized. Only one time was I able to actually press the “bell” before it disappeared; surprisingly it worked the same as the browser version of Rivals does. This just tells me that the app has the capacity to show me my notifications but somehow it can’t display it properly for whatever reason. If y’all could fix that I’d change my rating to 5 stars. I would really appreciate not having to go to the actual website to see my notifications/interactions..Version: 3.5.365

Solid 3 star appWill it turn into a star app, exceed the users expectations and receive a lot of phone time? There is work to do on the testing field before that will happen. Video play right now is adequate at best. Sometimes there is flawless execution while other times it acts like it doesn’t know what to do, getting lost in the screen and frustrating the user. Performance is another questionable area. App requires the user to force a refresh, it needs the encouragement to recover relative to other apps. If it wants to move up the depth chart, it should self refresh. Right now this app looks the part. Passes the eye test, solid UI and certainly what it brings it will see some screen time - albeit limited. Unless this app wants Users to keep seeking other apps for certain situations, it needs to work harder to get better in certain areas. Only time will tell if Rivals will become a star in this store or remain muddled in mediocrity and lost deep in the depth chart.Version: 2.5.111

Customer EngagementThis app is a product of continuous negligence towards providing a seamless customer experience. The lack of emphasis from an IT perspective continues to hinder customers the ability to post and interact with the platform effectively. The app does not allow you to stay logged in as well as get real time updates. Overall the people running the individual college sites give good reason to keep coming back, but unfortunately the development teams clearly do not understand what it means to enable a first class customer experience..Version: 2.5.111
