Photo Manager Pro for Negative User Reviews

Great app, could be a lot more fluidRenaming is cumbersome, it should only take one click to access a renaming menu. Perhaps if the name of the photo was displayed at the top and clicking it took you to the renaming menu? Also, accessing the renaming menu as it is should put the cursor on the name ready to be re-typed (saving another whole click). The camera shutter button is in an awkward spot, it should follow the native camera UI in having the button on the right-hand side of the screen in portrait mode and in landscape mode so that it's always close to your thumb - this is especially important on the iPad. Apart from those two things it's a pretty great app!.Version: 5.3

Total lie. Awful appThis sucks. I never write a review but this is so pathetic of an app I had to. It isn't even close to the original app. Just a money grab that is all. I alsobwant my money back. I will be uninstalling it and I will look for a new photo manager app..Version: 5.0

Do not get this APPThe worst developers ever who are unable to help with issues. Got this app as an upgrade from Private Photo but lost all my pictures, unable to migrate. Contacted developers for help who will answer a question in 24hrs initially with no solution but asking same question again and again. They have stopped answering me now leaving me stranded!!!!!!.Version: 5.7.2

FeedbackHello there ,, I have been using my photos app for years So yesterday I backed up the all my phone and alo backed up the the pictures inside the app and restore it agin the app came back but no pictures was inside it i was very upset the pictures ment alot to me Then i new that the app was discontinued so you had to download photo manager pro 5 and it will automatically transfer the photo to that app But i allready did donwload the photo manager pro 5 but nothing came back Please i need to get those photo back there really important for me Many thanks.Version: 5.5.1

Low photo resolutionThe app moves photos. However, the photo rendering is poor. The same photo looks much clearer and has more detail in default iOS app than this one. For this reason, it cannot qualify as a high quality photo manager..Version: 6.0.6

###WARNING###App extremely unstable, I password protected the app and now it's not functioning, when I open the app the password screen does not appear. I now have no access to my photos. Just have to hopefully wait for an update that may help. I had no issues with the old app at all. This is terrible, be very cautious!! I would give it minus stars if possible. If it gets fixed I will update my review..Version: 5.2.1

CarefulBe careful, Images disappear when you try to reinstall the app. iCloud backup is fake. I lost about 500 images. Use third party image managing apps at your own risk..Version: 5.7.4

RubbishThe new app can't migrate my photos from the old app as there is not enough room. Very disappointing when I have just paid for the new app and it doesn't work. Can I have my money back and I'll find another app to hold my photo files?.Version: 5.2

No use to meThe app is OK, as long as you only want to manage photographs in iOS photos app - there is no integration with the iOS files system. The only option is “paste from clipboard” - until there is full integration, this app is of little use to photographers looking to manage and sort files (RAW for instance) prior to editing (in another app) and subsequently importing to photos app. As I need to manage all photo files on my iPad, and not just those residing in the photos app, this was a wasted purchase. It just doesn’t do enough..Version: 6.1

Lost all my photosHad a new phone, swapped over and the app has lost years worth of photos. Tried to do the back up again, nothing. Extremely disappointed that the iCloud I had set up hasn’t saved them..Version: 6.2.1

Could be great ....I have been using version 4 in the past and I liked it so it was no brainer to get a new version especially that it improved the file transfer considerably. Why only 3 stars …? Firstly the DropBox implementation. It it great that we can download the whole DropBox folder into the app file structure however if a new photo gets added to DropBox it is not possible to sync it with an app. Instead the app asks to re-download the entire folder. Synchronising folders for any Cloud Storage would be great addition - worth a star :) Secondly the video player. You have the most unique feature amongst third party video players - free and smooth zoom. Most of the players can only zoom 2x or to fill the screen. However your player lacks one thing that other have had for a while - gestures. Please add a swipe left for rewind few seconds, swipe right for fast forward few seconds (to be set in the app settings), up-down on one side of the screen for volume and up-down on the other side of the screen for brightnes. With that implemented you will get another star :)..Version: 5.5.1

LOST ALL PICS ON UPGRADEI loved the original app and used it often. However, upgraded ISO versions left its features unusable. Once I received notice to upgrade the app, the transfer of pics and folders occurred, but shortly after, I only get a blank screen (and I mean BLANK... other than the company’s logo at the bottom of screen). Although I sent an email (as the app provides) explaining my issue, no response was received. If my pics and folders are found, I’ll gladly change this rating....but for now....BUYER BEWARE!.Version: 6.1

I'm not sure about the appGot a message in PMP4, saying that won't be supported anymore and to upgrade to PMP5. Ok, I bought it but to be honest, I prefer 4. I've a lot of stuff in the original and it's one hell of a palaver, to me anyhow, to try and transfer it all across. If 4 could link to Dropbox, it'd be easy. But, it doesn't. So at £2.26 it didn't break the bank and I'll be saving my pictures with version 4 for the near future. Plus, in all the time I've had the original, it never received an update anyway. If you're starting from scratch with 5, then it'll be a good photo manager for you. I've given it a three star because people starting with this app will like a lot,,,, I think..Version: 5.0

Issue after latest updateI always used the previous version and loved it and so duly paid for the new version (don't think we should have been charged for this upgrade). I used to have lots of folders all with my chosen photos as folder covers. Every update changes the cover photos and with this latest one, I can't get the ones I want to display on the home screen. When I click on the folder, it appears with my chosen pic as a cover but I want the same pic to appear on the homescreen too. It won't. Extremely annoying and will consider changing now. Every update seems to shuffle my stuff around!.Version: 5.5

Why change a good thingI don't like anything with a camera roll, what's the point of having the same photos in two different places. It refuses to put my photos in any sort of date order and I can't choose to download photos in a smaller size. Its not as easy to transfer photos using ITunes. An absolute waste of money..Version: 5.1.1

Struggling with importing my photosSeems to be very sensitive with spare memory, even after deleting several apps to free up space. Struggled to import 20 photos from my iPhone, have only managed 3 so far!.Version: 5.4

I can’t figure out how to use it and it has no help. It’s not intuitive. It useless without some help..Version: 5.7.1

PointlessKinda defeats the point of being able to have password protected folders when you have to have your pictures on your camera roll (which people do not need a password for). If there is a way to have pictures exclusively within the app itself, then I'll consider a better rating - or at least an easy way to achieve this as I cannot seem to find a way to do it if there is one..Version: 5.1.1

Trying to understand the point of this AppIt cannot import photos from an external device. It needs access to Photos. I can see little benefit over and above photos. It provides less information from the metadata than Photos (which is dreadfully poor). I found a method of bringing photos in, but it was only possible to bring one photo at a time, so it unrealistic to consider as a solution. The reason I need a reliable App to import is like many other Apple users, I find the latest OS and IOS updates have broken the the photo transfer link..Version: 6.0.5

Dropbox syncing faultyI really wanted to like this app to manage my photo development workflow. On the device the management works really well. However, the moment I try and upload a folder with sub folders or more than one photograph, despite the fact that the app allows you to select multiple folders or photos it doesn’t sync with Dropbox. It tells you it’s uploading each photograph but it doesn’t. Have to say incredibly disappointed.Version: 5.4

Not Ready for Prime TimeWell, no one wanted this to work more than I did. All I wanted was an app which would sort my photos by date taken. I had high hopes for this one. However, after the first 100 or so photos (I have 3300), the app slows down to reading one photo about every 4 seconds. The phone gets warm, indicating to me the processor is running at maximum speed, the battery drains very rapidly (so I keep plugged in to power), and I am on my fourth HOUR of reading/scanning pictures and it still isn’t finished. I have tried this twice: first with IOS 12.0.1, and again today with IOS 12.1. Last night, after finally finishing, I clicked “sort by date, descending”, and many of the pictures that I took over several years were sorted FIRST, and had dates showing of....yesterday. If, under 12.1, the pictures sort correctly, I will post an update, but as of now I will be deleting the app and looking for something else. Just amazes me that Apple can’t show the pictures in order of date taken for people like me with lots of photos. Sorting by date synced through ITunes?.....that’s ridiculous..Version: 5.7

PM Pro failing to openPM Pro has become very unreliable and often fails to open folders of pictures. I have upgrade to Version 6.0.5. Often I have to switch app off and on again and sometimes even this fails to work. The app uses about 5.3gb of data, but there are still 10gb of unused storage on my iPad..Version: 6.0.5

TerribleI hate this photo app, it is awful and the photos stay out of focus for quite a few seconds. I prefer the private photo app and will stick with that one..Version: 5.0

Search is limited as is metadata. FTP is good as are albumsSearch facility is very limited only doing titles and descriptions. Needs to also work on iptc data which contains keywords transferred with photos The section metadata should include real metadata - such as keywords and camera information. Title and description are all that is the included here as metadata.Version: 5.4

Can’t updateHave used Photo Manager Pro for years. But now when I try to open it, I’m getting a message that Photo Manager Pro cannot update but no instructions about how to resolve it. So my pics are stranded there with no way to access them. Have contacted the developer twice, but no response. I tried to migrate to the new version, but it says to first update the old version. Catch 22. Avoid this software if you want to be able to access your photos over the long term..Version: 6.0.6

C - - -Tout allait bien... mais depuis quelque temps, la fiabilité n’est plus là... l’application fige etc ... Besoin d’un gros changement ... Zut, je l’aimais bien ce PM PRO !.Version: 6.0.1

DELETED ALL MY PHOTOS AND VIDEOSSo annoyed, developer doesn’t respond now offer assistance. Forced me to upgrade and pay for this app but it deleted everything. Reporting to Apple and requesting a refund. Worst app and company. Zero help from them. Avoid at all costs and find something else or use iCloud..Version: 5.4

Update loss of functionLocation metadata has disappeared in the most recent update, a function I use a lot. Annoyingly will have to now use another app, this is infuriating. Surely updates shouldn’t remove a basic function?.Version: 6.2

No sorting optionsDoes not have any sorting options even if advertised it does.Version: 5.1.1

Ok but very slow copyingI would like to give this 5 Stars but having used pro 4 for a few years it has been great. I thought I'd take the plunge and go for the pro 5. The pro 5 is a lot sleeker but when I copy photos from camera roll it's so much slower than the older version. Not good. You would think it would be faster, especially how quick the iPhone 7 is i thought they would take full advantage of that but no. Please look into it and do an update asap. Thank you..Version: 5.2

Renaming and the camera need workIt’s very tedious renaming photos - especially big batches. The renaming function could be way more fluid with less steps/taps. Please could you use the native camera API instead of whatever the app uses currently? The shutter button is in a very awkward position. I paid for the original Photo Manager Pro and for this upgrade, and would happily pay a couple dollars for these bug fixes/updates..Version: 5.5.1

Several Steps BackwardI have used Photo Manager 4 for many years and found it very useful. Photo Manager 5 introduces many features (file transfer and editing which are awkward to use and cannot compete with other apps) and removed features I found useful (e.g. Resizing photos for sharing by email). This app is a train wreck. Will be looking for new photo organizer when support for Photo Manager 4 no longer works..Version: 5.4

Not as good as its predecessorDon't like this app as much as the earlier one. I have the same amount of photos on both now - on the new app they use 6.6 GIGAbytes whereas on the old version they only used 4.7 MEGAbytes. Why?? Don't think it looks as nice either, or is it as easy to use. And how do I get rid of the Private Zone folder?.Version: 5.4

A Real DisappointmentInferior in just about every way to initial release..Version: 5.1.1

Don't bother upgradingThis "upgrade" either removes features from the previous version or they just don't work. After being told by a popup in the older faultless version I was informed I HAD to upgrade. And for a premium app price too. Not at all happy, it seems another developer has bought the app or the previous developer has changed names.. Luckily I still have the previous version..Version: 5.4

Won’t be able to take a photo with the cameraCamera or video option is not working.Version: 6.1

Good butThis is a good, versatile app, but has one serious problem. If you delete photo(s) from deleted folder, it removes all copies from the photo library, not just the delete folder. If photo is from camera roll, it's gone unless you have a downloaded copy somewhere, but it can't be added back to camera roll folder. Also, the user can't define the order of folders of your personal photos. They're in random order. Developers reported no schedule to fix this..Version: 5.7.1

Broken, Money grab downgradeCopy paste of previous photo manager only now its doesn’t play video formats it used to..Version: 6.2.1

Less attractive after updatePlease return the background colour to black or give the user a choice in settings. The new white background does not show images to their best advantage. The folder view with four images option has gone - why? I have used previous version for years and found it excellent. This update is disappointing, especially as we have to pay for it. I shall stay with the old version!.Version: 5.7.2

Great when it works, which isn’t often. This is just what I was looking for, a basic photo album to take the place of the generic Apple one that’s worse than useless. I like the simple layout and the fact I can order my photos alphabetically. There are a couple of niggles, importing photos from IOS requires more steps than should be necessary but the main issue I have is that more often than not it just fails to load. The loading wheel of death just keeps turning on and on. I have a brand new iPad and the latest IOS and this is a very basic App with very little function so what’s the problem. I’m now looking for a replacement that does the same thing..Version: 6.0.6

Excellent App! Just needs to be updated! This is honestly one of the most useful utility apps that I have. The built-in photos app is a mess, but this really allows you to organize your photos/videos the way you want. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the app hasn’t been updated in a while, and it doesn’t support gifs and Live Photo’s (which I have plenty of). If that is solved I will gladly up my rating to 5 stars..Version: 5.5.1

HorribleMuch, much worse than private photo.Version: 5.2.1

Recent update is crashing unexpectedlyHad this app for years without issue. Since last ios13 update (and recent bug fix attempt) it continues to crash unexpectedly during use. 3 times in last 24 hrs. Come on folks....get it right!.Version: 6.0.1

Lost photosI recently purchased a new iPhone 13 Pro Max. After downloading all of my apps from cloud, I realized I was unable to download the original Private Photo version of this app. I get an error message that says the developer needs to update the app in order to download on this version of iOS. I even tried downloading it on an old iPhone but was forced to upgrade, pay the $2.99, and my photos are gone. They are not migrating.Version: 6.2.1

Does not workIt has a manual, but hard to figure out. Connected to Chrome on my PC, but could not transfer to iPad. I gave up..Version: 5.7.4

This is a rip off! This is absolute garbage. It keeps crashing, its ugly, not anywhere near as good as the original. I'm incredibly disappointed...what a waste of money..Version: 5.0

What is this???This has to be the most disappointing upgrade to a working App. What have you done to it???? It's useless to me, Please refund ASAP.Version: 5.0

Could be better!I request the photos transferring between devices back to its old original settings because ever since the new photo transferring update has been implemented almost a month ago, I now struggle transferring my photos because it keeps jumbling them all up every time I transfer them instead of transferring them in the desired order I organise my photos in my folders..Version: 5.7.2

UglyI agree with Seraphina. This is ugly, not intuitive and a rip off. Photos can be beautiful and why would you put them in an UGLY frame..Version: 5.0

Saving photos to camera roll not workingCannot save photos from external device to camera roll. Just gives option stop or close but copying does not start..Version: 6.0.6

Don’t Buy. Lost my money. 😡AirPlay doesn’t exist as it is promoted.Version: 6.2.1

Missing Some Basic FunctionalityYou cannot rename multiple files at once. This is painful as downloading photos from Flickr for local storage means each one is named with a bunch of random characters. No easy way to sort your album so all pics of the same type are sorted together..Version: 5.1.1

Photo Manager ProSeems to be slow and judders when swiping through album. Also seems to drain the iPhone battery quite quickly. Didn't have any of these issues with the previous version. The developer obviously doesn't think much to the people who paid for the previous version making them pay again rather than updating the old app..Version: 5.4

Rubbish, I want a refundI paid for this app for the shuffling slideshow feature, and it’s a complete rubbish, the slideshow always shows the same pictures and most of the time the slideshow gets stuck on a black screen. I paid for this app!! This is just awful. I have now found an app on the store that is completely free which is so much better, and which actually works!! No bugs and all the pictures are actually shuffling.Version: 6.3.3

DropboxCant copy to dropbox.Version: 5.7.2

RubbishCan't password folders No instructions Total rubbish.Version: 5.4

Photo Manager Pro 5Promised so much but delivered so little. One drive fails upload fails after a handful of folders are uploaded. PC transfer doesn’t resize for iPhone so all photos are full size 6-7mb each. All I wanted was a system that imported my photos as they are on my laptop. Waste of money..Version: 5.5.1

Photo Manager Pro 5Great app . Easy to use. It could do with a trash folder though please..Version: 5.1.1

Almost GreatIn my opinion this is a good app. There’s one feature missing in it that brings it down from five stars to three though. When you go to import from the Photos on iPhone a grid view of the photos shows across the screen in rows. If you have a picture in the Photos then it’s easy to pick out and import. But if you have for instance a screenshot with text in it as the main content then it’s very hard if not impossible to read the text in the grid view and know which pictures to pick out to import. The app needs a feature in it where instead of just the grid view you can also show a full picture on the screen with a select option to include in the import. Then you could easily see text images that you want to include. Also, I emailed their support about this problem over 24 hours ago and have not heard from them..Version: 6.2.1

RAW File Support?I just bought this app. I see it had many 5 star reviews and I figured I couldn’t go wrong. I would love to give it a much higher rating, if I could get my RAW files to display> I have about 1000 RAW (.NEF) files from a Nikon D500 that won’t display in full size. I can preview the JPEG thumbnails that are normally embedded in the RAW file. When I try to display the NET file at normal size in the app, all it does is spin. And spin. With just a white screen showing. Any guidance front he developer would be GREAT! I am a technical guy in IT and know all about the formats and coding. It appears that the RAW format, and specifically my D500 .NEF files, are recognized OK on iOS and within Lightroom and RAW Power apps, so its highly unlikely I have a problem within iOS. I don’t know if something might need updated and is not currently supported within this PM app. Buyer beware if you are planning to view any RAW .NEF files with this app. JPEG display fine..Version: 5.5.1

DowngradeUpdated from 4.5 to 6 cos earlier version doesn’t support HEIC export. This latest iteration is one of the most difficult apps to navigate I have ever come across. 4.5 did everything needed but some numpty decided to completely screw up the menus. Must be something better out there..Version: 6.1

Dated and lacking featuresGiven the ongoing issues with Apple Photos this app could be a godsend. However, it is very dated, and as another reviewer has advised you cannot import photos from anywhere other than the a Photos app. Therefore this app is of little use. Such a shame..Version: 6.0.6

No backup. Do not useDo not use this app. I thought it was useful for organising my pictures and it was but there is zero synchronisation. If you delete something by accident it is gone. No undo, no deleted folder. I lost hundreds of my life photos with 2 clicks that were too speedy. Devastating..Version: 6.0.6

UselessAfter the last one that was discontinued this is useless Will not take photos from library to a file Create a new file and it is a long winded process to move photos can’t believe I paid for this will go back to the “discontinued “ one.Version: 6.1

Password protect private zone folderYou can hide the private zone folder but I cannot see a way to password protect it..Version: 6.1

What a con - waste of moneyWhen I accessed the PhotoManager app which had been Lon my iPad for years I found ALL my videos, photos etc had disappeared. A very blunt note and up telling me if I bought the current app my photos would “migrate” across to the new app. I subsequently purchased the latest app and lo and behold MY PHOTOS ARE STILL MISSING despite following the prompts to “migrate” my material to the latest version. Where are my photos???.Version: 6.1

Where are my photosUpgraded to 5 thinking I would get my photos back as they all disappeared from my previous PhotoMgrPro, so far not able to retrieve them, have emailed help but so far no contact, if no answers are forthcoming I also will contact iTunes.Version: 5.5

TransferGot a new iPhone, did back up tp pc, went to set up new iPhone pictures did not transfer over...Very Poor Design!.Version: 5.5.1

Nice interface, lacks key featuresThis worked for main thing I wanted- remove photos from my camera roll and provide folder structure to organize them. (I left my “memories” photos on the camera roll and moved my meme and joke collection, document images, screenshots, and recipes to the folders in PM Pro) It has basic editing tools, which would be ok if it synced to a cloud service that I could access from another app, but you have to copy back and forth, so we’re back to old “version control” problem. I expected this app to be able to edit metadata across multiple files at once, like tagging a group of photos, or changing the date or location on photos that were downloaded without one. In fact, the only metadata you change even one at a time is the file name, rating, keywords (tags) and description. I really hope to see this added as I think it’s a big part of organizing. Lastly, I use OneDrive and while the app will copy files to OneDrive, they will not sync. And if you select any folders the process freezes, since the app can’t create new folders. So you can’t select a folder free to upload. You have to go into each folder one at a time to select the files to copy..Version: 5.7.2

Great, but...This is a much better way to organise photos the the native iOS app... ...but there is no synchronisation either cloud. Yes, you can manually transfer files between your cloud data services and PM Pro, but that’s rather a let down in this day and age..Version: 5.7.4

MEH....Ok so I’ve had this app for a while now and it’s just ok. I love how it’s easy to use and organize photos and videos but... Problems occur during importing. I’ve had more than several occasions where thumbnails do not match photo and during import process if you get interrupted by a phone call or your phone goes to sleep mode it stops. I don’t have the time to go through every single photo to see what went through. This is a major issue. I have tons of photos and videos I’ve been moving into this app. I have tons of duplicates because of this problem. I wish it would run in the background..Version: 5.5.1

Biggest dissapointment! Want money backInefficient, complicated, I can't assign color to folders, not intuitive at all. Older version so much more easy to use..Version: 5.0

What kind of total rip off IS this! There is NOTHING useful or easy or adaptable or even close to the original photo manager pro. This crap SUCKS and I want my money back!! -100 stars!.Version: 5.0

Did not back up - lost all picsI had to do a reset of my pics so I backed up on my iTunes and did the reset! Then restore and so far all my apps turned out good but this one! All data lost!! I was very disappointed! Not worth buying if you cannot back up with this app..Version: 5.5.1
