✓ If you want a frustrating experienceReally if you want to work slower this app is for you. Some features are great but the cons greatly out weigh them. Dealing with this app is pretty frustrating. Trying to split or trim your video is like threading a needle with a macro scope. Not “micro”, MACRO! Plus unnecessary steps to do it. First click video while it zooms out your entire project so you get the least accurate cut possible. You better not have a video longer the 30 seconds if you want accurate. Why not zoom in so I can see the frames. Hit the action, adjust, hit the check mark. In that exact order. Why?! If you adjust then hit split it resets so you have to adjust it again. Why not have it split from the tick marks current position. Maybe you want to undo that trim. Good luck. Better start over. Get rid of that check mark, making it 3 steps. How about adjust then hit trim. Bam 2 steps. And put a undo button. If there is one then its definitely not visible..Version: 7.9.1
✓ New update is horribleThis used to be my favourite app. But since they changed the format with the last update it has taken several huge steps back. I don’t even want to use it anymore. It used to be so user friendly with great editing menus. Now it just feels like all the others….Version: 9.4.1
✓ Not good for YouTubersQuite a simple video editor. To be honest quote impressed, or at least I was until I realised they put a fat watermark in the corner of the video when you export. The only way to remove this is by, you guessed it, paying hefty price which is more expensive than editing softwares on pc. 7 pounds a month is a joke. I wouldn’t recommend this to you tubers trying to make videos unless you wanna look like an idiot. I would use however if I was making a simple holiday montage but then again iMovie would probably be better. Kinda disappointed 😔.Version: 8.2.5

✓ Inaccurate editingI had a go with this app editing a couple of bits of video together. Basic requirement was to edit out some unwanted content. I expected to be able to do this from the video screen - ie find the spot you want to split, hit the split button and hey presto. Instead I had to tap around the screen hoping to find some edit functions and then you have to manually find the spot again which annoyingly is in seconds only. An improvement would be to be able to find the point in the main view (seen in milliseconds) and to be able to edit straight from there. And it’s only after youve edited your ur first film and you go to export that u see the in app purchase though remove a watermark on the finished film.Version: 5.6

✓ Just very annoying to useI started using this app to edit a video and it worked great, the free version gave me everything I needed. However this app has LOTS of problems. The first is that you can only save the videos to your photos if it’s very short otherwise you have to pay. Another problem is that it takes up far too much storage and because you can’t save the videos to your photos your stuck with this huge loss of storage. The final and most annoying problem is that recently when I’ve been trying to edit videos it’s suddenly started kicking me out and not letting me continue with that video which is very annoying when I’ve been working on it for a while and then have to start from scratch. You should definitely use a different app unless your prepared to pay. I would recommend InShot which is what I’m switching too now. I’m only giving this one star because I can’t give it zero stars. ✓ What happened to all the editing features?Starting using this app in 2020 and was very pleased how user friendly the app was as well as the awesome editing features. Now I’m back to using the app to continue my projects for over a year ago; paid the $99 for the year only to discover that many of the editing features are no longer - volume increase as well as fast forward (time lapse). I’m going to continue using the app in hopes that these features return. Please..Version: 9.6.1
✓ Nice up but.....This up is really useful for school projects and home projects but it is extremely expensive for the PRO version. I feel like the watermark is very big and covers most of my screen. Most things are clearly impossible to do without the PRO version. If I don’t want the watermark I have to make the video smaller in size then export it into iMovie to then crop it so the watermark is not seen. Another problem is that you can only export a certain size project without PRO..Version: 7.8.1

✓ Can’t export video because of updateI’ve been using the free version as I don’t have the money to pay for the subscription. The watermark is so big it may as well cover a quarter of the screen, and after the app was updated some features I previously had used on a video became premier access only so now I can’t export it without paying, which as I said previously isn’t going to happen. Even worse, the main reason I want to export this project is so I can delete this stupid app off my phone. The app worked well enough for a time but now I have a better app to replace it and want to be able to delete this one without deleting the video I spent hours editing together. I even went back and tried to re-edit the bits of the video where I had previously used features that are now premium access only, but it still won’t let me export and I don’t know why. ✓ Okay for transitionsI wanted an app like CapCut for my edits and transitions, and this app isn’t the best but it’s okay. I feel there could be a bit more in the free section. I also wish there could be an edit where you can move the image and turn it while the video is playing. Otherwise, apart from edits (which is the reason I got the app) this app is great for editing your videos and if you’re a YouTuber, this would be good enough if you had the premium subscription. ✓ I’m literally having a mental breakdownI spend MONTHS making a vlog for something i did over the summer. it took forever because every SINGLE TIME i edited a clip, i would get kicked out the app. even though this was frustrating and such a waste of time, i still continued to make the vlog because i wanted to complete it. not to mention, EVERY TIME I GOT KICKED OFF, it would take at LEAST three minutes to reload the whole video which is ridiculous. i spend HOURS finishing the video months later and i think it’s really good. i go to download the video so i can share it to everyone who was in the vlog and you have the pay for it. not to mention my sound COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED. i swear to god this is so frustrating the app isn’t worth it. the sound only works when not on full screen. i’m literally crying over months of work going down the drain because of this poor choice in an app which i used to rely on. don’t get the app it’s not worth the aggravation and disappointment in the end. i literally feel depressed rn because of you..Version: 7.0
✓ Paid Features Don’t Work, Steals Your MoneyI’ve used this app for a few years now editing videos on it using the free version. I have never had a problem with it apart from it taking up lots of space up until now. There are loads of features on the free one but we were going on a 2 week cruise and I wanted to add music to the videos and not have the watermark on it when I download it to my iPad so I decided to purchase a month (£5.49) of the pro version. Being 14 I don’t have a job or anything so I saved up my money for a whole month to purchase the pro version so I can edit my videos properly. It worked for 2 days fine however when we went on our cruise I edited 2 videos and then on the third day it offered me a free 3 day trial of it and the pro features that I had paid for were not working. Being on a cruise, we can’t use data unless we are in port and as the app is on my iPad, I can’t connect it easily to internet. After connecting the iPad to the internet, and pressing restore purchase it works again for 24hrs and then it stops working until you repeat the purchase again. I am thoroughly disappointed in this as I bought it for my holiday and it was absolutely useless for 5 days of my 31days I have. I went into my subscriptions account and it showed I had it until the 5th March. Do not buy the PrO version as it just doesn’t work and I believe it is a scam!.Version: 6.7.2

✓ “Restore” and “Contact Us” Doesn’t workI signed up for the $5.99 monthly Pro plan to test for my needs. After a week or so, I decided to cancel after the first month, so I changed my subscription. I tried producing more videos (they have great fonts, and transitions and some music options in the pro version) and no longer had access to the pro options though I was still within my paid month. When I clicked “restore” it restored the monthly subscription but not the pro access in the app. I uninstalled/ reinstalled and still not working. When I try to use a pro font, I get a pop-up that asks me to restore. When I click restore, I get a pop up saying it was successful. And then when I try to use the pro font, I get a pop-up that says restore. When I click the “contact us“ link to try to reach out to their support, it didn’t go anywhere. But when I click the link to leave a review just below it, I was offered the ability to leave a review. Normally I would just reach out to support before leaving a bad review but this may be the only way to contact them. The videos I was able to create were quality but the app has some bugs that I need addressed..Version: 6.5
✓ What happened????This used to be such an amazing app! Almost everything was free and it was very accessible. It used to be my absolute favorite app to edit videos and photos because it was so easy to control and not that complicated. Now if you want to share or save the video/picture that you made to your photos it will ask you to buy something for like $5 a month! That’s $60 a YEAR to keep a video that you made?? Many fonts also used to be free, but now they want the $5 a month thing. Now I have to watch multiple tutorials to figure out how to use a more complicated FREE app. I would much rather struggle and have to learn a new app then pay $60 dollars a year though. ✓ Thought it was really good until...I thought this was going to be a great app and I created a video on it but then when I went to save it, it told me I had added pro features to it and I needed to remove them to save it for free. I then looked at the list of pro features but I hadn’t use any of them, it had no music, the text had no special fonts or animations and I had no stickers on. I found it incredibly frustrating as I couldn’t find anywhere what I’d used that had made it pro, however I had spent over an hour doing it and making a now useless video. ✓ Do not recommend for anything halfway seriousI have been working on a project for a month or so, have about 8 minutes of footage for this project and all of a sudden the text boxes on the timeline disappeared. So after I needed to move around scenes, the text boxes can’t be moved so they bleed over other scenes and there’s nothing I can do about it. I am going to have to start all over and it’s a MAJOR WASTE OF TIME. I’ve spent countless hours editing this crap. Also, even with a BRAND NEW IPAD, adding in any more than 5 minutes of footage into a project causes your app to lag and run slowly whenever you try to work on the project. And they have the audacity to charge you money for this? I’d expect some effort to be put in your product if you want to steal my money. I bought a month long subscription that i get to remember to cancel before it charges me the same rate again next month because I wanted to make one video. I finished editing it last night and opened the app today to export it today. Uh oh I don’t have the pro version anymore. I try to restore my purchase. “Your purchases were successfully restored”; nope. Sure were not successfully restored. I try to pay for a month long subscription AGAIN to try and not waste over 10 hours of editing I’ve already put into it. I can’t buy it because I’m already subscribed. I do this entire process multiple times trying to desperately not have just wasted so many frustrating hours trying to edit a video on my phone to begin with. ✓ It’s okI wanted to learn how to make Gacha videos, so I look up movie makers and this one popped up. I downloaded it which took FOREVER. Anyways after it finally downloaded I opened it in hopes to make a slideshow with my screenshots. It then asked me how long I wanted each slide to be. But bc I was doing a music video each slide had to be held for a different amount of times. I decided to continue in hopes I could change it later on. So I kept adding more screenshots until I didn’t have anymore. I had 73 screenshots and more in the making. But as soon as I finished it said processing it downloading I don’t really remember and it kept downloading and downloading and downloading for a week! I finally gave up. ✓ Great app, but does have a few glitchesLove this app, has all the video editing tools I need, super easy to use as well. It does tend to glitch sometimes however, which is frustrating. Needs to show which videos/photos have already been added for greater ease of use. ✓ You destroy itPeople pay to use this and it used to be simple and easy but since the constant updates it crashes it keeps resetting adding water marks because it forgets you have already paid and editing has gone from simple and easy to becoming impossible, you can’t edit anything anymore it’s a waste of money for 30 bucks I expect more than constant crashing and losing my projects in the middle of trying to edit them ! Use funimate or viva video or video star or something because this is trash for edits, trash for videos, and it’s a pain to change each duration instead of just dragging the side. KineMaster is better for making videos. It doesn’t save everything in the data so you won’t waste storage, but honestly, please don’t use this if you haven’t already.. I know you could be looking for different types of videos, such as; slideshows, birthday videos or even holidays. But for edits, this is not the right fit for anyone! ✓ FrustratingThis could be a great app; however, there are several issues that had me so frustrated after two hours I trashed it. First, there is no undo. If you accidently hit the wrong function - too bad. You get to start all over! Second, under the scissors icon, it defaults to trim. If you forget to change it to cut - guess what? You get to start all over, again. (An undo function would correct this) Third, there is no trash can. You can not simply trash a segment. I was force to cut a segment down to the smallest snippet instead. Ridiculous. And lastly, if you are fortunate enough to finish your video edits, you get to pay a hidden charge to remove a watermark. That would have been nice to know up front! This app has great potential if those problems could be corrected. Frustrated the last two hours were a total waste and now I get to go look for another video editing app..Version: 5.8

✓ Good app, but bugs and crashes:(I spent 6 hours and 23 minutes on a specific edit, and i was just finishing up when the app crashes and sends me back to the home screen. Several times, i have restarted my iphone and closed out windows and still nothing has changed. Other edits will work, but this specific one will not. I am very disappointed given the amount of time and effort put into my piece for such to happen. Hopefully you can help me with this problem :( Also greatly dissatisfied that such a good simple app for editing has to crash like this, now have to find another. However I was very impressed with all the editing options and tools, very helpful. Although the volume option is not strong, all of the other coloring and filters worked great! ✓ It's okay I guessSo I have yt channel and I would like to use this app to edit my videos. I don't mind that much about the watermarks. I made 2 videos using the app 2 weeks ago. I made another one however, when I try to export it says "PRO ONLY Remove Limit". I don't really understand what it means but all I do know is that I can't save it. ✓ It has potentialHonestly I tried making a full on ur video on this and I had so much problems with it. For one every time I crop the video or something for some reason it also shortens the video too? And there’s a lot of audio issues I got while trying to edit and sometimes if I were to attempt to paste a single clip to make it sort of loop it doesn’t even transition the audio smoothly you can tell that there was a cut in the video which is annoying and I tried the same thing in another app and it did it perfectly. There’s also the fact if I split a clip most of the time you’ll be able to see a green line on the side in the split clip and most of the times it’ll just cut to black and audio would still play and the video would just be missing feo some reason which again is really annoying, The chroma key is pretty bad too I would press on the color I’m trying to chroma key out but it chroma keys everything but the color I tapped. I know these may sound like a me problem it might even annoy you too when you’re trying to make a video and I only got to make the intro bit of the video I didn’t even get to the rest before giving up because of how many issues I had. Overall this app has some great potential but unless they fix this I wouldn’t recommend using it for now.Version: 7.5.4

✓ A couple of bugs and trim problemSo, when I started using this app, I decided to make a 1 minute long video. It went out pretty well, I tested out the trim on that and it worked fine. (Before I knew that it would put the text out of place) So I decided to use it on my 8 minute long video and guess what. It trimmed it but... the text just wasn’t, in the right place. I figured it would keep the text where it was but nope. I thought that I could save it but I put a lot of text in the video. So I just gave up and remade the whole video. I got so frustrated, and once I nearly finished the second video, I accidentally clicked on the illustrations button AND text button at the same time. It ended up making the whole app crash for some weird reason. I just thought it was the normal crashes I usually had while making the video, but that wasn’t the case. Once I reopened my video it crashed again. It just wouldn’t stop crashing. And then that’s when I got FURIOUS!!! HOURS OF WORK DONE IN RETURN FOR NOTHING!!! I tried restarting my iPad but that didn’t work either, it still crashes. I am still upset about the fact that it is just completely gone..Version: 7.5.5
✓ I want to save my video with a watermark but I can’t!The app is easy to use, and does make nice videos, however to save a video without a watermark u must pay, this would be fine if I could have my video with a water mark, this doesn’t exist there’s no way to get a video with just a water mark, Instead there is a massive yellow box across my screen saying “PRO only remove limit” I would be happy with a video with a water mark in the corner because I’m using a free editing software but you can’t even do that. ✓ Film maker Pro reviewI really like this app and think that it has all the good features of iMovie plus some better features such as being able to change the text colour, font, size and where it is on the screen and being able to add in shapes and interesting titles. I think it also has a really good selection of background music compared to iMovie. Something this app doesn’t have that iMovie does though is the ability to export projects. You can’t screen record either and the only way you can share projects is by filming your device with another device but that is going to be bad quality and hard to do. I really don’t think you should have to pay to export projects as the whole reason you make movies is to share them with people. I would only ever use this app to make a movie I wouldn’t share with people since although iMovie isn’t as technology advanced, it is all free. Thank you for reading, I hope this helps. ✓ Not what I want 😕I would say this app is only “ok” I will give you my reasons on why I did not enjoy this app. 1st it takes forever to change the size of the texts, like what if I wanted a small text to make it look like they are saying something, well I have to hold down the ⬇️ for so long to get to the number I want. 2nd why when I place a text down I can’t move it because when I was using this app I accidentally put the text in the wrong place I can’t move it how come developers? ✓ THERE IS NO FREE TRIAL!!!Had i not felt cheated this would have been a great review! The app is great but I wanted to trial for free before purchase, as it offered but lied! Luckily I only signed for the month with the intention of making a video during the free trial and making decision to purchase after. As it has already taken the money before the end of my free trial i now have no choice in whether I would like to continue and as a result have ended the subscription. Could have gained a customer otherwise but I not be purchasing for that reason... false advertisement...be clear with your customers and don’t say there’s a free trial if there isn’t...you lose trust before it’s gained! ✓ Needs improvementsReally really needs an undo function! Also it’s difficult to drag and drop clips and name the clips if you’re trying to edit several clips. Also it be great to not have to go through an entire clip when you’re trying to trim. The choice of fonts and transitions are great but it’s not easy to use, mostly because of the lack of undo. It works, it’s not great but the price I’m going to pass on it. So glad I didn’t go for the 60 odd quid option on it. ✓ I love the app featuresI love the app features and that you can save/ export in 4K/ 60 FPS BUT I have to give gm the app only a 3 for two reason— 1. It freezes/ closes on me constantly. I have an iPhone Pro Max with 256GB. I thought upgrading my phone would eliminate the issue (I have a 7 Plus 256GB before)...issue still present. Who knows what I was thinking there? FORTUNATELY, it saves what you had oddly enough. Just crazy annoying and somewhat alarming at first. It get REALLY bad (and slow) for anything over 10 minutes. 2. The other thing is that I like to edit holding my phone in portrait position for balance reasons and so I don’t “boop” features I don’t want to accidentally —this app you must hold in landscape, which makes it awkward...for me anyway. ✓ DisappointedThe app was great. I was editing my video with pictures and adding words. It took me a while and I was proud of it. Then, I added some music to it. Just as I was about to watch it, to make sure it was how I wanted it, it said that I wouldn’t be able to share it unless I paid money and got PRO. That was the whole point I made it though! ☹️ I wanted to make a video and post it FOR FREE! ✓ A serious let downI have been working with this app for two years now. It operation is sub par, glitchy, and frustrating. I dealt with it because the interface was user friendly. There would be hours before where it would crash, freeze, delete a video but it wasn’t worth getting worked up about. I have now spent 24 hours, excusing the time to sleep, trying to get this app to load so I could finish my work and get paid. It was slow to load, so I thought I will delete some old content to help with the lag, this has worked in the past. BIGGEST REGRET! The app was frozen for 15 minutes, I was trying to be patient, I had to force stop the app, and now here we are. Day two and it still won’t open. Weeks of work are now in the filmmaker void unable to be accessed and that’s just the content I’m currently trying to work with let alone the months of work I have stored on the app that are now gone because if i delete the app to reinstall my data will be lost. ✓ Video speed up/down ruins footageI love the features of the app but it has one massive floor for me (iPhone 7 plus)..... whenever I speed up or slow down a video (4K/1080p etc) in the app, the footage becomes very choppy and unusable! ✓ I was SHOCKEDI worked for long, hard hours to put together a movie for me to enjoy with my family. When my movie was finally completed, I was thrilled and the time has come for me to upload the movie to my camera app. But there was a bit of a problem. In this app, apparently you have to pay for the PRO version and pay money in order to export into your photos. This was a huge shocker because I worked so hard to come to find there is no way to save the movie. The only way to save the movie is to press the expand screen button and screen record the movie into your camera app, but in the corner there’s this yellow arrow that won’t disappear that says, “Remove limit” so even if you do screen record to post it, your viewers will have their minds on why there’s a “Remove limit” icon on the upper left corner. Even if they would just get rid of that annoying announcement that tells me to “Remove limit” I wouldn’t be writing this poor review, but because of that small icon, my whole time and commitment to the completion of the video was wasted and the video itself was wasted as well..Version: 7.0

✓ Good transitions but hard to useThe transitions that you can use are really good and work well, however the app has a few problems. Sometimes in the middle of making a video the whole app glitches and you cannot access the project that you were working on anymore (however you can still enter the app) which is beyond annoying. Splitting and trimming a video is also not practical and is more trouble than it’s worth so that’s why I split my videos first in another app and on this one just put in the transitions. ✓ Too many bugs, missing features, and all around agrevationsLet me first say, I sent an email to the “contact” email about some of these issues this morning and not received even an automated response so I am not just putting this out here without trying to find help with the issues. I purchased this app with great excitement because of the fonts but unfortunately I am finding out it is not worth the price. For starters there is no “undo” feature which makes splitting (which by the way does not work) and cutting a video in the correct place impossible. If you do cut it and it is wrong, your only option is to reload the video and try again. I finally gave up and decided to do the video editing in my old program and then import it into this one. Makes sense since I like the fonts, right? Wrong. Half the time you have to tap the screen five times to be able to select the word if you are wanting to move it then when you do manage to select it, if you are wanting to use another word on the slide as a reference for where to place it, you cannot see the other word. This results in you having to guess, check, guess, again, check, guess again, etc. This is ridiculous. Next issue, sometimes, for no known reason, the words decide to darken the screen when they come in, the only way to correct this issue is to adjust the opacity, which in turn makes the word...INVISIBLE. Your fonts are great but not that great. Cancelling my subscription and going back to my other app..Version: 7.2.1
✓ Hear me outOk. So a few weeks ago, I probably would have given it a 5 star. But first of all, importing the photos takes a whole HEKK of a lot of time. I end up having to import only 3 to 4 at a time, which, I say, takes forever to get everything imported. And that’s not all, pretty much EVERYTHING takes forever to get done, adding text, saving it, deleting a scene, making scenes shorter and longer, I just think “does it really need to take this long?” Finally, you can only save/upload up to three videos before you have to buy pro, which I think, is kind of a downfall for beginners, or for kids, who are just trying to have fun. I mean, everything WORKS fine, it’s just slow and costs money. i DID end up deleting this app and got another one that is completely free and has a lot more quality’s. ✓ You’re almost there but not quite andI’m about to delete this app cause that’s how frustrating it is. The way you have to click on it and the selecting has made it for a lot of trial and errors especially since there no undo. I’ve had to start all over again, too many times because I didn’t know if what I was selecting to trim was to keep or discard. I figured since it’s trim I would the select the piece of video I wanted to trim off and that would be deleted. Nope I was wrong but look there’s no undo and now I have to start from the beginning. BIG PROBLEM. LOTS OF TIME WASTED. The there’s not a way after you detract the audio to reattach it or maybe I am missing it. Another this is file naming, why can’t I change the file name or folder name or where it gets exported to. I don’t even know when it is and I have to go looking for it and I can’t find it easily cause I am not able to change the name to the file or folder to make it easily located. It’s been very frustrating. ✓ App is NOT free (limited trials)I liked the app at first but once I realized there was a limit to how many videos I could export, I deleted it. It used to be free with unlimited trials but I guess the update put a limit to how many videos could be created. Personally when I’m forced to pay for an app, I don’t care how good it is, I immediately delete it and I think a lot of other users feel the same way. Don’t force your users to pay for something because at the end of the day, that’s not going to get you more purchases. So a vertical way of editing can replace it? Ok that’s fine but the fact that I can’t go back to landscape editing is a whole downgrade. When you update a feature you DON’T remove one that’s already working. No more landscape editing, and it’s not even an option, now you’re forced to edit only vertically. ✓ CANT SAVE VIDEOThis app was quite frustrating. it was easy to navigate and understand and i was able to make a great video by the end of it! the only thing was i spent hours working on a video and i found out that i couldn’t even save it to my device without paying $6. now i understand that majority of editing apps will require you to pay to use some features. however, blocking people from even saving a video is incredibly frustrating. you can’t even screen record it as when you’re editing a yellow box is always blocking some of the video so you can’t screen record to save it. i genuinely think this app would be great if you already had the PRO membership however i decided it wasn’t worth it for the expense. before you use this app without a membership, ask yourself: am i really going to spend my time and effort on something that i won’t even be able to keep or view properly. seems unfair to me, please fix this..Version: 8.2.4
✓ Good but...This is a really nice software and easy to use. It has helped me a lot with past things and is really helping with present and probably future things. There are a few downsides though. When you put a picture, but then want to trim the time of how long it stays, it will shorten, but you can’t make it longer if you made a mistake. Another thing is you can’t have a clip less than .5 seconds. The app keeps randomly exiting me off it and it keeps losing my most recent progress. It takes a long time to load and a REALLY REALLY REALLY long time to download it and make it a video rather than watching it with the rest of the scenes under it. A horrible spoiler for my family when I show them my mini films. It keeps exiting me off of my movie and this upsets me because I spend so long on it, and it’s not even that long. It’s about 8-10 minutes long, so I’m deleting a bunch of things that I shouldn't have to, and it STILL keeps exiting me off! It was something really special for my family, and now I can’t even watch one full minute of it..Version: 6.8.2
✓ A bit bad because...You need to have pro to save it witch you have to by. I don’t understand having to pay for something just to save it to the photos that will probably get deleted. You can’t screen record because you block it. There is nothing wrong with that I just don’t understand why. Young users could work hard on something then not be able to save it! But on the other half the app is very good and a great way to edit videos. There is an awesome song list to choose from to!
