LinkedIn Learning for Negative User Reviews

Autoplay 👎When I click on a class, I want to read what it's about, not start the class instantly - please get rid of autoplay for classes the user has not yet begun! Also, would be nice if each chapter had a runtime like pluralsight provides. Also, it would be great if you could watch a class as a continuous stream, rather than each section of each chapter having to download, because sometimes the app gets stuck downloading the next section..Version: 1.31

UnstableIssues on iPhone X. Crashes every second time at start. Seems to be related to login screen being out of frame. Please update..Version: 1.1.58

Lynda App Is BetterIf you’ve never used the Lynda app, it would be difficult for you to understand how bad this app is in comparison. It sorely lacks the polish and features of the Lynda app. I particularly dislike how it opens in portrait mode even when I have my iPad tilted to landscape. I remain perplexed as to why LinkedIn just didn’t rename the Lynda website and app instead of having dueling interfaces and slightly different pricing options. All they’re doing is trying (unsuccessfully) to reinvent the proverbial wheel here. I can say the same of the websites..Version: 1.1.65

Blur videosEvery time I watch a video, the first 30/40 seconds are blur and I can’t see anything. If I wait and go back to minute 0, it is normal again. It happens every time. If I watch on the web, it doesn’t happen..Version: 1.84

LinkedIn autoplayCourses seem beneficial, but off putting at the same time. When you are in the groove of listening to one slide (via AirPlay) it will just stop afterwards instead of moving to the next slide seamlessly..Version: 1.19.43

Problem with loginI have just two questions….. Why does the app not remember your library login information? Why do we have always have to manually put this in, before moving on to our username and password? Using the app will go so much smoother, if you would make it remember our library credentials…… .Regards.Version: 1.37

Shockingly bad video quality for a paid-for serviceMy internet speed is currently 500mbps and videos are frequently so low resolution I can’t read a single thing on the screen. They always start blurry but sometimes eventually cache enough that they’re watchable, but far too often it’s like the app never realises it can pull the higher resolution version through. With no option to manually modify the video resolution while watching it basically makes this expensive service unusable on iPad..Version: 1.63

Why fix what works so well for so many peopldIf you totally change an app that is loved and successful, you better have something really great. You changed a great app for not so great at all. Why? Someone's ego? Business is not a way to boost egos, it a way to make money. Take up a sport and beat all your buddies..Version: 1.7.1

Doesn’t stop sending you reminders! The Terminator of learning apps. I unsubscribed from my plan, it didn’t stop the learning reminders. I turned off all notifications, it still kept popping up the reminders. Finally I deleted the app from my phone. Developers, please fix the reminders, so they are only popping up for subscribed users!.Version: 1.55

Great content, okay app, but forced vertical orientation on iPad??I’ve been a Lynda customer for a very long time and just recently did the upgrade to LinkedIn learning. While the content is great and the app is okay, there is one big flaw for me: The app cannot be used in horizontal orientation on the iPad. I am often using my iPad in horizontal orientation in addition to a smart folio keyboard, and the app becomes useless unless I undo this entire configuration. The vertical orientation doesn’t make sense and makes it so you HAVE to hold the iPad when you’re watching content on here. If LinkedIn made this app work in the horizontal orientation, I’d likely upgrade this to five stars. Right now, its almost useless to me..Version: 1.1.85

Pause and playHi LL team, Can u change implement a pause and play button in the middle of the screen while watching a video? It’s not practical to have a tiny button at the corner of the device. Also content area and overall look of the app needs to be updated. Looks a bit dated..Version: 1.1.128

Why ask a valid email?I am able to log in on google chrome. Bue when I log in on this app, it asks a valid email. I do not understand….I use the exact same email for hundreds times. Absolutely no idea why it keeps asking a valid email..Version: 1.86

Log inLog in works only sometimes. - strange - keeps asking for log in.Version: 1.9

Keeps login outI am using library credential to access, and the app consistently logs me out if I dont use the app for a day. Very annoying specially that I have to enter the long library URL every time I want to log in. Please fix this!.Version: 1.35

Landscape view on iPadThe app is great and works very well, but it lacks a key feature of providing landscape view on iPad. Should be definitely added in the future..Version: 1.1.62

How to change video resolution?By default video starts with very low resolution that makes text unreadable. Resolution sometimes switches but often does not. I cannot find an option to choose video quality I want. This makes learning coding on a mobile impossible..Version: 1.20

Not fully updated for the pro big screensYou can tell from the keyboard that it is not running at native resolution, but rather scaled up.Version: 1.42

Unable to link Lynda to this appVery disappointed My course progress and the course is not anywhere..Version: 1.30

Good courses, but oldThis courses and videos need to be updated. I’ve been watching courses from 2014. Nevertheless, we’re in 2020 going into 2021. Please update more courses such as law, psychology, criminology, literature, research papers, math, science, philosophy, diet, nursing, (degree, master, PhD courses to be precisely) The great courses has those on audible. However, they also do not upgrade their library. What I mean is, I’d give you 5 starts if I saw the information and resources are updated. This courses right here as well need a refreshment of extra and new course material to keep up the great work. Please consider it. Then, I’ll also update my playlist, which now I have over 400 video, courses. This looked to me as though the video and courses need to be more towards a higher education e.g. degrees, master, PhD’s goal oriented to make it even more appealing to continue in here..Version: 1.10

Google Analytics EssentialMade it much more transparent than Googles own version as you can follow on the site itself Only downside is the speaker went a little fast for me at times and as I was trying to mirror the actions whilst listening I had to keep pressing pause Tip: if you have a tablet/phone watch the presentation on that and have a laptop to follow the actions if you can, it helps in navigation.Version: 1.1.104

Library Login Re-authentication at each login? This is the age of Face ID and you guys are making us add library url followed by library card and password at each login. Seriously🧐 Is Linkedin learning a free service for libraries? If not, improve the user flow and simplify authentication process. P.S. Learning is real and instructors are amazing..Version: 1.37

Crashes a lotSync n mobile devices out of place. Download content to mobile devices doesn’t always sync to the online content and have to either restart the app or watch content online to continue progress. Pausing, locking screen and coming back later doesn’t allow to keep watching where you left: have to restart the app and reload content. Subtitles not always stay on..Version: 1.87

Not clear at allGreat courses on the app but very terrible quality. I can’t even choose the quality, I barely read what’s on the screen..Version: 1.43

BafflingWorst UI and UX. Not intuitive at all and no clear answer for how you buy a course..Version: 1.1.62

Ugh. I miss Lynda.First, the login process through my library is ridiculous, and includes tapping a "Continue" button approximately 48 times so that it can verify my card.... Again. I was logged in yesterday, but yeah, my library card is probably expired today. Then, once you're in, it's just a safari container for the website, as evidenced by the "Open in App" banner that persists on every. single. page. I really miss Lynda's simplicity, the ability to download courses for offline viewing, the UI staying out of the way of the video content, and probably a few other things I haven't noticed yet. The content is the same as far as I can tell, so that's fantastic, but the app leaves a LOT to be desired..Version: 1.25

Buggy to the point that I can’t use- audio and video frame stops midway; but the video time still continues and CC captioning still continues; (watching on 1.5x in case it’s relevant to debugging the issue) - pressing 10s forward changes video speed from 1.5x to 1.0x. Clicking pause, then play puts the speed back to the configured 1.5x.Version: 1.111

Good app marred by video quality and no TV streamingIt’s great that you can buy single courses and download them for offline use. However, video quality is lower than the website and is not good enough for computer tutorials with fine UI elements - especially complex 3D or graphics applications. Also, the app fails to stream from the iPad to an AppleTV: ‘An error occurred loading this content, try again later’. Udemy, AskVideo, Netflix, Amazon, AccornTV etc all work but not this app. Have tried multiple iOS and app versions plus there’s no mention of AppleTV on the help site so assume it’s being blocked or is not possible which is silly..Version: 1.1.144

Can’t log inI tried to use this app after the switchover from Lynda, and I want to use this app with my local library. The app requires a Library ID, which there is no support information for. To log into using Safari requires a library portal url to log in, but trying variations in this app goes nowhere and gives no feedback. This is a terrible user experience. LinkedIn/Microsoft, try the Libby app to see it done right. And at least, bare minimum, provide easy-to-find support info in the app *on the login page* explaining where the Library ID can be found. Hint: it shouldn’t require any effort to find. It shouldn’t be in an email from my library. It shouldn’t require a phone call. It shouldn’t require opening a ticket. And if you can’t do any of that, at least supply examples of what it looks like. My God, why is this even an issue in 2021?.Version: 1.27

Great but often gives the issue playing the videosI often get the "oops" message where the video won’t load, even tho my internet and everything else is working. I deleted the app and downloaded it again and it still gives the issue. I used different internet connections and same thing. I also restarted my iPad. Please fix the issue it’s very inconvenient..Version: 1.2.2

Needs an Apple TV appThe Lynda version of the same tool had an Apple TV app. Please bring it to LinkedIn Learning.Version: 1.16.1

Offline course volume decreases all the timeMy iPhone volume always decreases automatically on it’s own after 30 sec and I can’t hear my offline course that I downloaded. When I try to raise it it automatically turns it down again to no volume. I don’t experience this on my YouTube music app with offfline content. It’s a critical bug on OS 15.4.1 on iPhone 13 mini..Version: 1.83

Fix the issueIt keep telling to re authentication!! Linked with LinkedIn doesn’t help.Version: 1.13

Login to Lynda.com with my library cardWhat happened? has linkedin shut down the access for lynda.com? Doing that will be the dumbest decision linkedin will ever make. I am considering quiting LinkedIn over this. At the very least I plan on complaining about on every social media site I have access to. please tell me this was an oversight and you are going to fix it..Version: 1.1.65

Display resolution rubbishEvery time I try to watch a course since I migrate from the old Lynda app, it spends the first 30 seconds to a minute in a state that is impossible to read any of the text, like it can’t stream fast enough and half the picture s missing. Very frustrating!.Version: 1.47

Various Cast Issues + Bad UI Interaction DesignI used Lynda’s Web interface and iOS app for a long time. It’s really sad that after all this time, this app still doesn’t compare to the refinement of the Lynda app. 1) The Chrimecast support doesn’t seem to exist anymore. I had used the cast feature with the Learning app before, but it’s no longer present. 2) When the Chromecast support was present, it had a major flaw. If during playback, my iOS device screen was locked, the playing would stop after the video already in progress ended. This required either keeping the phone awake, or having to repeatedly unlock to proceed to next video. 3) The design of Collections or the management UI is flawed / primitive. Items cannot be moved to another collection or moved up/down in the current collection. You can add the same item to the same collection multiple times unintentionally and end up with duplicates. Just to name a few. Please consider going back to the Lynda app and learning from their design/implementation..Version: 1.49

UnusableThe app is stopping many times and need to press play for any new video in a lesson, unpractical and mostly unusable.Version: 1.65.1

Learning not available if you use Sales NavigatorI paid for the Learning subscription through the app, but it’s not available because I also have Sales Navigator subscription. LinkedIn acknowledged via support that this is a bug on their end. Stay away if you also use Sales Navigator..Version: 1.103

First impressionsThe content is not exhaustive if you’re knowledge-hungry technologist looking for a single education vendor, but it does have courses that you won’t find on Safaribooksonline. As for the app, itself, it needs more love from its developers. Content will randomly fail to load when switching between video clips in a course and requires restarting the app completely. The UI has some glitches like the play/pause button disappears if you enable closed captioning, bookmarks sometimes come undone and the course/video interface doesn’t work in landscape mode. The app has limited organization capabilities to keep all courses that you are interested in organized. Something that the app has gotten right: play speed settings actually stick between videos and sessions. Other ideas for this app: - A “what’s new” section that isn’t just rando suggestions in a feed. - “What’s my progress across all courses I’m viewing” section. - YouTube-styled quick forward and rewind with taps to the right/left of video. - Notes-taking area..Version: 1.1.67

Unusable in offline modeMy company started a trial with eLearning. At first I wanted to keep things separate so I didn’t link my eLearning account with a standard LinkedIn account. Well you can’t get the offline mode working this way. So I linked it to my LinkedIn account, but the offline mode is barely usable. Each time I start the app it fails with an error and send me back to a half loaded home page. At that point I lost all progress in any video, and also lost which video I’ve already done. I guess I’ll get back to the newspaper for my offline commute.Version: 1.1.68

Missing background playGreat app but no simple background play option when minimising the app, pauses and then needs to be resumed. Quite frustrating when trying to note or multitask..Version: 1.107

Great content - platform needs workThe content I’ve listened to on LinkedIn Learning is great, however, the application requires some tweaking. Although you can download the content offline, if you don’t have any internet or cellular connectivity, you can’t load the app to access your offline content. Additionally, when you do lose signal, the downloaded content will stop playing. Hopefully this gets fixed in the future.Version: 1.1.122

Won’t sync, can’t access at allThe app initially worked fine, but now it won’t sync to my LinkedIn profile at all. It won’t even recognize my email address. When I try to load the app I get into a loop: enter my email, it doesn’t log in, it checks I’m a human, then prompts me for my email again..Version: 1.121

Interesting how so many apps rate highly now…Couldn’t have anything to do with paid reviews…especially when I frequently experience crashes when attempting to open certain learning paths I’m on. (It seems random - not all courses cause crashes.) I’ve uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled. Same thing. Certain courses freeze the app, requiring a force close. This tells me it’s not my hardware or OS, it’s the app. But it has 4.8 stars..Version: 1.103

Lucked Courses for free trialI subscribed for the one month free trial and all courses are lucked..Version: 1.61.1

Playlists are missingHi team. Where are the playlists at? I am an enterprise customer and had a bunch of playlists these were super helpful. On mobile they’re either gone or hard to find..Version: 1.1.117

Biassed toward adobe softwareUsing old software. Not industry standard. Not worth the money.Version: 1.1.102

Lacking in featuresWhen I am completing courses on my iPad, it’s really on beneficial to me if I can make notes while I engage in the content. This is where picture-in-picture would be so useful but the video player in the app doesn’t support it. I also think the featured content has gone down hill since the Lynda days. A big focus on themes and priorities that will be popular in California and the like but of little practical use to those wanting hard skills that will boost employability and general usefulness.Version: 1.31

Apple TVLynda has an Apple TV app....Version: 1.1.79

Limited course selectionMost videos and courses I find very basic and a bit out of date. In a way , it is a great tool to gain some knowledge for job hunting ..Version: 1.1.65

Older iPadI have an older iPad and I keep getting a recurring pop up to upgrade LinkedIn app. Extremely frustrating. They must have a bunch of nitwits running this company. Never had any issues with Lynda.com.Version: 1.120

ScamI went for the free trial and they charged me right away!.Version: 1.51

Won’t even let me joinI can’t even join and create an account without it saying to try again. This, as well as being an experience of many new users, is stressing — I can’t even use the app as I can’t even make an account without each and every time, not letting me..Version: 1.19.43

Slow and lack of contentMuch slower on an iPad Pro M1 than the browser to play videos. Use the browser. Also lack of technical content; not much on Azure Data Services for example, lack of main certifications training from main cloud providers, yes there are some just the introductory ones! It is mainly for management and the courses start repeating as content. Sometimes they introduce topics but never really go through and advanced material… Please add more technical and architectural content to make it great!.Version: 1.94

Major downgrade from LyndaI was forced to migrate to this app from Lynda. The layout is brutal and there’s no landscape mode for iPads. What were they thinking?.Version: 1.1.74

PresentationAnother ....... app which ignores landscape. More and more of us are using iPads with keyboards.Version: 1.1.62

Subscription keeps chargingWarning subscription charges even when you remove subscription and app. Reported to apple. Developer needs to fix and provide consumer opt in subscription not automatic stealing.Version: 1.1.73

Background noiseLocation of the filming was frustrating as there was a lot of background noise with it being set in a cafe.Version: 1.1.62

Poor Streaming & No Generic iPad AppVideo streaming outside of the US is akin to the stop-start levels last seen in 1998. Also, even worse for a multi-billion dollar company, where’s the generic iPad version of this app, please?.Version: 1.1.62

Basic coursesThis really could be better. The courses are fairly basic and almost all American..... so corny! I’d like to see more recognised company content on here. I’m glad I didn’t pay for my access to learning because it’s ok. Not great..Version: 1.9

Great content but why no Landscape Mode?Enjoying the courses, plenty of varied content at differing difficulty levels. Can I just ask why your app only runs in portrait mode? It’s really annoying on a 12.9 iPad Pro with keyboard case 😳.Version: 1.1.82

Cannot change video qualityFirst of all, LinkedIn learning is great! But the app has no way to set video quality, like YouTube or Udemy. This means that the video often starts at the lowest quality and takes a while to change. This is extremely annoying for coding courses where text is displayed on the screen.Version: 1.7.1

Good service with annoying appI love the service, but the app is surprisingly not great UX and has some missing features or logical capabilities. I just recently began using LinkedIn Learning and planned to primarily use it on iOS. Unfortunately, I’ve run into a few snags with the iOS app that I’m hoping leaving a review will help the feedback get to the developers to be fixed or made more clear. 1. I created a collection on mobile with the intention of organizing the large volume of courses I’ve saved. — I can’t figure out how to access a collection after its creation. — When adding courses to a collection, I can’t figure out whether it’s possible to select multiple courses and “bulk” add them to a collection. Right now, I’m going through a huge list of saved courses adding to a collection one by one. 2. Can’t disable the banner notification for “course saved” or “course added to collection.” They don’t auto-dismiss — I have to close each notification one at a time after they stack up while I’m saving courses. At one point there were more than 40 “course saved” notifications and I had to close each banner one by one. Turning off in-app notification didn’t help. And then the same thing happened when later wanted to organize the courses into collections. I hope the developers will utilize this feedback and fix the above issues..Version: 1.78

Keeps crashing offlineI can’t count how many times it crashed on me offline “due to an unexpected error”, or “unable to load your courses, try again”, ending up being a black screen. What’s the point of such app if you can’t use when you need it? There are much more reliable online courses apps out there that work without crashing constantly, check out Pluralsight or Udemy!.Version: 1.1.93

Shame the app doesn’t workI subscribed, it was all signed up and manageable in my subscription section in the App Store. But the app didn’t recognise this and wouldn’t let me access any content nor would it let me sign up again as my phone knew I was already subscribed. Had to cancel my subscription losing out on the trial and being unable to experience what looked like a promising app..Version: 1.107

Can’t log is using iPhoneI have a few different accounts due to working for different universities. Strangle enough I can’t seem to log into to any of them on the iPhone. The service great but the iPhone app doesn’t work at all..Version: 1.3.1

Lynda’s app was much more advancedThis app is missing the following important two features that were included in its predecessor Lynda app 1- Remembering the username and password 2- Offline course learning through downloading the courses to the iPhone or iPad.Version: 1.27

Daily Updates!!We update this app daily to ensure you don’t miss our PROMOTED courses!.Version: 1.52

App and the content is fineFrustrating while we are casting using chrome cast: 1. Can’t change the speed. Is fixed to x 1. 2. Need to select each video manually. Won’t go to next one by itself..Version: 1.1.87

Inaccessible For Library UsersThe Lynda app was great, but library card holders can no longer use it. We are now being redirected to the LinkedIn Learning app, which is, in short, terrible. Library card users have a separate login system that does not remember our credentials and does not deliver us a normal native mobile application experience. Instead, we are directed to a web browser inside of the application with LinkedIn Learning content. This creates an awful user experience. None of the old functionality from the Lynda app (e.g. offline course access, Chromecast, etc.) is available anymore. Please provide a fix soon..Version: 1.27

Felt forced to move from Lynda to LinkedInThough the price is better for this version, I dislike various aspects : I’m unhappy with the interface overall. It’s clunky and looks more like it did in its early days. Really quite poor compared to the direction of modern learning platforms. Also: -that I can’t automatically play the next video in the sequence - I can’t remove a class from my history (that I simply looked at and have no intention on finishing) - I’d like to review my history with sort options such amount of time remaining, subject, name, or time (recent, etc.) -under completed, what’s the point in the “share to LinkedIn” when that platform doesn’t show courses that you have taken and are sharing? - it’s been more than a year and still no AppleTV version? And most annoying is that when I agreed to having my Renewal in July be as LinkedIn Learning (so I have paid the higher priced Lynda program through July) I was forced to used this app and I am unable to use the better, feature-rich, Apple TV enabled version! I’m beguto feel that the savings aren’t worth it..Version: 1.1.99

Watching offline content never works, poor UII always experience issues trying to watch my downloaded content offline when flying. Either I’m unable to log in, the app is unable to load or display the previously downloaded content. LinkedIn’s proposition is that I have be logged in already, which doesn’t work when you’re on a plane without WiFi, and that I jump through multiple hoops to watch my offline content. What’s the point? The app also sorts videos and courses arbitrarily, and I can’t arrange them in a preferred, sensible order. It’s difficult to easily see at a glance where I am in my various learning paths and pick up where I left off. The existing implementations for these features are lacking and poorly implemented, requiring the user to dig several levels deep..Version: 1.1.124

Won’t play downloads...The app is good but I preferred the Lynda as had no problems with it downloading my content to view in trains and underground transport, it seems the LinkedIn Learning app crashes often when I view a downloaded video without connection.... sort of defeats the object of download? Content is useful and I have multiple learning subscriptions and this is one of the better. Any fix on the download issue? IPhone XS Max, Up to date in all installs and updates Thanks.Version: 1.1.97

Awful Chromecast supportIt’s blatantly clear nobody in the app dev team actually tried to sit through an entire course using Chromecast. The app frequently “forgets” that it’s casting, so the videos aren’t marked as watched. If the phone screen turns off, it won’t play the next video, and after you unlock your phone, it will have disconnected from Chromecast. And with each video being typically 3-5 minutes long, I spend more time fixing the casting than actually being able to focus on the content. Unusable mess..Version: 1.1.107

CrashingI don't know what has happened in the last 6 months but this app has become almost unusable. I have been using LinkedIn Learning for almost 2 years. I love it. I never had an issue with it until recently. The videos are slow to load if at all. In the middle of a lesson the app will just crash. This is very frustrating because my employer has linked a lot of our mandatory continuation training in LinkedIn Learning so I don't have a choice but to struggle with this app. It's also very disappointing as the learning content is unmatched and I was so happy before all of these problems started..Version: 1.1.162

Good appGood app but could be better, going to landscape mode does not work the same as other apps. Notifications appear at sideways from the short edge instead of horizontal on the long edge. And iPad controls for volume etc are on the short edge as well..Version: 1.1.63

New updateThe last update blocks my app.Version: 1.1.90

BugsAudio playback speed messes with the audio quality. Compare with the web version to hear the difference..Version: 1.38.1

Full of bugsFull of bugs and sometimes video can’t be streamed for like 30 minutes and just buffering and buffering (yes my wifi works and fast fiber). Sometimes it works fine but this buffering for 30 minutes no matter how many courses videos I click, only black screen buffering. Waste a lot of valuable time and LinkedIn should fix this, all we have is very short time available to learn and then for 30 minutes LinkedIn won’t load the course; utterly ridiculous..Version: 1.1.164

Good content but poor performance. Almost unusable!Videos get often interrupted and they take ages to reload. Checked Network and iPad, which are working perfectly. Something wrong with the app. I must say that I was recently. migrated to-this app from Lynda, and I am quite disappointed with Linkedin Learning wrt to the service warranty. Never had problem with Lynda..Version: 1.1.126

My reviews keep getting deleted with each App Update! In a nutshell (since this is the third time I've written a review): trying to sign in with a library card is not user friendly on a mobile device. Just finding out the library's ID is difficult enough, but the entry field often makes you type in the whole address instead of just the end. Furthermore the app is persistently on, using up screentime even when I set a limit to it. My phone's metrics says LinkedIn is on 22h/day or so..Version: 1.35

No iPad optimization...I watch the videos on a 12.9 inch IPad Pro; although the videos play fine in the landscape, the whole app is made for iPhone, so when i navigate between videos or through the interface, i have to turn my iPad into portrait mode which is a pain and looks awful. For a company like LinkedIn to have such a poorly thought out app is bad....Version: 1.1.47

Application freezes on iPadThe application freezes after the "saved" notification either after adding a course to collection or updating a setting. However, this is a great application overall..Version: 1.60

Unusable app. Horrible video quality!I love using LinkedIn Learning on a web browser, it works great but this iOS app is completely unusable. The LinkedIn Learning video quality on my iPad Pro at a 100Mbps download speed is absolutely appalling, horribly pixelated! I’m watching videos about coding and can’t distinguish any of the text on the screen. I can’t for the life of me find the setting (which EVERY video streaming app has) to set the video quality to 1080p or 4K. LinkedIn Learning content is great but this app is useless without a video quality setting..Version: 1.40

Ok but where is the notebookIt’s sad that the notebook available on a web browser is not available in the app.Version: 1.81

No Apple TV appSo after numerous pop ups and pushes to upgrade from Lynda to LinkedIn I did thinking it was going to better and I had to move to the new platform at some point. I also made the mistake of assuming that years after the acquisition that this would have the same if not better functionality as the Lynda app. Man am I sorry I upgraded. I loved Lynda for many reasons but primarily for their Apple TV app. So easy to watch video and follow along with the exercises. Now it AirPlay does work but it’s wonky, requires another device to stream and just not as simple. The most frustrating part is that in the big push by LinkedIn to migrate they never warn you there is not an AppleTV app and you will lose the ability to use the Lynda app after migration. LinkedIn bring back an AppleTV app please!.Version: 1.33

No access with library IDI’m able to access on the web but not on the app.Version: 1.25

Does what you expect it to— if you live in 2018The LinkedIn app for iOS is outdated. This app has basically functioned and looked the same for as long as i can remember. It seems like more of a web wrapper than a native app experience itself, which is unacceptable in 2022, especially if you’re Microsoft/linkedin. Beyond that, the iPad experience in particular is just plain bad, with it just basically functioning as an unoptimized iPhone port— again, not really acceptable when iPad has become a laptop replacement for many of us. Hopefully, there will be a solid update coming in the future..Version: 1.70.1

Stale LinkWhy am I unable to log in to my account? I have an account linked to my institution (UBC), but every time I try to log in, the web would say that the link is Stale. Literally EVERY TIME. Even when I try to log in on web, and got directed to the app… Please do something about this..Version: 1.93

Unable to LoginEvery time I open the app I’m prompted to login however it says the email I enter is not associated with an account. This is not true as I am able to log in on my computer but this app does not work for me..Version: 1.110

Mobile app doesn't work with library accountI can access learning with my library card on my laptop but mobile doesn't work.Version: 1.93

Not sure how things workI guess i am not clear on how this app works because 1. i can see advertising to start trial period takes over my iPhone screen and distracting me from main video to learn the topic 2. then there is small video section 3. below it there is the index highlighting the sequence of section. UI, for me was not good experience Also, I see some training in LinkedIn, is there a way for me to add it to my list of videos for me to learn in my free time..Version: 1.1.80

No chromecast support, so basically uselessEvery other video app manages to support casting to my telly bus chromecast, except the one that keeps harranguing me to buy a (frankly rather expensive) $50/month subscription. That’s a total dealbreaker in a mobile app for me. Why even bother having an iPhone app if watching your videos on a screen larger than 5” requires me to fire up a browser on my laptop? I may choose to update this review if Microsoft’s devs fix this glaring inadequacy. Before you ask, I’m shall not open a support ticket - others have done that already and this “bug” does not involve experimental cutting edge technology..Version: 1.71

Landscape view would be great.Videos play in landscape view, thought I have found that it sometimes doesn’t change orientation when I rotate 180°, mainly after resuming a lesson. Would love landscape view for all other areas in the app..Version: 1.1.62

Comparatively speaking...If you’re looking for a lecture, it’s decent. I have a free membership thru my work enterprise, which, honestly, is the only reason I use it. I don’t see ANYTHING with this app that makes it better value than lecture based competitors like udemy, courses, etc. If you want to learn a technical skill this app is extremely difficult to use. Lecture exercises can be files up to 2gb -zipped-. So in addition to taking forever to download, I found the exercise files I pretty useless. It’s a swivel chair nightmare and there is no time built in or guides that even tell you when to open the exercises. Additionally, the files I’ve seen are more samples than actual exercises to go thru. Many don’t even have instructions enclosed. I’d much rather get a copy of the PowerPoints the instructors use (which, oddly, seems to be the only thing omitted from giant exercise files) or cheat sheets to help me in the real world. Having a format where student can practice and learn-by-doing (a la Codecademy, even lightbot) would be ideal, but I realized this is a lot of work and MONEY that probably won’t be invested. Shame..Version: 1.1.149

Screen is most of times blurredThe screen is mostly blurred, when running on 1.25x speed. Also controls are limited. I prefer to watch the videos on browser as quality of video remains good there. No way to enforce the quality either..Version: 1.25

Disappointing app, good contentPointless in app notifications drop down from the top and hide the navigation bar, preventing you from navigating backwards, until you manually dismiss it. This happens every time save you save a video or course. No keyboard support for playback controls? Not having a quick, single step way to pause a video when trying to think and learn is very frustrating. The course view with the video at top has a tendency to get stuck and not shrink upward, preventing the course overview or contents from scrolling into view. To fix that, it seems I have to either rotate my screen to portrait and back, or dismiss the video, returning back to the Home/course list view. That’s also cumbersome, because you have to first dismiss whatever notification may be left there waiting for you to dismiss, tap the video to show the controls, then tap the small downward chevron to collapse the video. Just support the native video player! Another app swallowed by Microsoft’s cross platform development strategy, abandoning more native platform functionality..Version: 1.114

Screen mirroring feature doesn’t allow speed changeIf this feature was fixed would happily give it another star..Version: 1.13

I can't login using a library account...?I love Lynda.com (LinkedIn Learning) and the services it has to offer. Fantastic platform. Unfortunately I can't get past the login screen! I'm from New Zealand and I can't access my library portal to login from the app, rendering it useless. Please fix!! Would love to learn on the go!.Version: 1.1.82

Where’s the iPad love at?I’ve migrated to LinkedIn learning after being a Lynda user and, although it’s a great programme with lots of great content, there are some simple features missing that would be massively useful: - Support for split-screen/multitasking - Support for picture-in-picture I want to be able to use spare time studying on these courses, and being able to split the screen with Notes or Notability so that I can write notes as I work would be a total game-changer. Please please please....Version: 1.1.96

Beware of pricingNever did I see that the subscription cost was all at once. That was a $300 coat after the trial period. One email warned me of it. So happens to occur at a time when I was super busy with three jobs and military training. Somehow I didn’t see that ONE email warning me $300 COST IS HITTING YOU SOON! Also, it wasn’t explicitly clear that this was going to happen when I signed up for the trial. I complained and some nice people at LinkedIn said it was in Apple’s hands now and they couldn’t refund me. Okay, that’s fair I guess. But to have as their default position a YEARLY subscription instead of a monthly one is dishonest. There are other apps I subscribe to that offer monthly ones. This was shady marketing at worst, and a lack of caring about the customer at best. Either way, I’ve lost trust in the company..Version: 1.1.74

Not clear and it crashesIt wasn’t clear if I was watching a 15 minute course or a 15 minute pitch for a bigger course. It wasn’t clear if I had accidentally started a 24-hour trial of a course or not. And I shouldn’t even be put in the position of thinking I accidentally started a 24-hour trial when I don’t have time in the next 24 hours. The app crashed repeatedly when I turned my phone from landscape to portrait. I expected more from LinkedIn than this below-average experience. Plus, there are no pricing tiers and their single fixed price is too high for me..Version: 1.99

Horrible viewing experience with iPhone 6I started using LinkedIn learning in the app using my iPhone 6. Unable to view the letters in the video. What the point of having the app where the video is not viewable. This app won’t work if you have slow internet connection. The login experience is also poor. Seriously you guys should consider fixing these issues..Version: 1.1.99

Poorly managed authentication for librariesOne of the worst application in terms authentication makes the app to be forgotten in the mobile devices. I remembered it because of update. Previously raised the significant inconvenience and difficulty to login to the app but the response was too unserious and unprofessional..Version: 1.66

Can’t loginI load up the app, click sign in, it opens up safari automatically, login via safari and then I’m stuck in safari, if I close it top left it takes me back to the original app sign in screen. Completely useless in this state..Version: 1.38

IPad compatibilityInterface not properly adjusted for iPad especially orientation i.e. landscape mode..Version: 1.1.62
