What is SRR Counter for Dogs & Cats? Description of SRR Counter for Dogs & Cats

SRR Counter for Dogs and Cats

Count your pet’s heart rate while they are sleeping. It is a must have if your dog or cat has a heart condition and your vet recommends you track their heart rate on a regular basis.

EASY TO USE

With the SRR Counter for Dogs and Cats app, you can easily count your pet’s breathing rate for 15 seconds, 30 seconds or 60 seconds. When your pet exhales, tap the Breath button to start the timer. Continue to tap the Breath button each time your pet exhales. Once complete, the number of breaths will display.

CALCULATIONS
– If you select 15 Seconds, the app will calculate each time you tap times 4.

– If you select 30 Seconds, the app will calculate each time you tap times 2.

– If you select 60 Seconds, the app will display the number of times you tap.

FEATURES
– The Apple Watch will provide haptic feedback with each tap. This allows you to watch your pet breathing, rather than your watch.

– You will receive a haptic notification when the timer is finished and be presented with the total breath count.

– No audible feedback so you won’t disturb your precious pet at rest! Please set the Apple Watch to silent to fully utilize this feature.

MY STORY

I created this app when my rescue dog, Bizou, went into heart failure at age 13 and was diagnosed with a grade 5 heart murmur. She was on several medications and my vet recommended I begin tracking her breathing to help them in regulating the dosages of her medications. I found it difficult for just 1 person to watch her breathing while also watching a timer to know when to stop counting. My goal was to make this much easier.

DISCLAIMER

Contact your veterinarian for normal and elevated heart rates for both cats and dogs. If your pet has an elevated heart rate or you have any concerns about his or her health, please immediately contact your vet.

FEEDBACK

Please send your feedback to [email protected]. I would love to implement new features based on your ideas!

SRR Counter for Dogs & Cats Pros

Wonderful app that can save your babies lifeI unfortunately have had one of my babies die from CHF and my eldest now suffers from mitral valve insufficiency, which inevitably will lead to CHF and death. He has a grade 4 murmur stage B2. Therefore monitoring his heart is crucial. I have been counting his breaths at home by hand for months now but decided to search for an app. This app is amazing. It easily tracks it by you pushing the button when one complete breath cycle is done. Genius! The best part is you can print out the record and give to your dogs cardiologist! It’s the little things and I appreciate this app so much! I’ll be sure to tell his cardiologist about it. I know if his heart rates increase its time to take him in. Thanks again.Mbcw338Version: 2.3

Great App - One WishThis app is wonderful and has made tracking my cat’s respiratory rate very easy. My only suggestion would be to add a feature that would allow the user to add notes to a specific entry in the history. This would be helpful in tracking and remembering the context of each rate. I imagine this would also be useful if someone needed to track the rates of multiple animals..PhantomcantomVersion: 2.2

SRR Counter for Dogs & Cats Cons

Doesn’t workI have installed and uninstalled many times. It opens to a page that doesn’t work, so I can’t even get into the app. Tried on my husband’s iPad as well..T^[k3rVersion: 3.0.1

Does the jobNot quite what I was expecting but interesting variation, may suit some. You start the timing with a big button and then press the screen every time your pet takes a breath, until the timer finishes and you can’t press the button any more. Positives: you don’t have to count, and can’t lose count. Negatives: the feedback you get with each button press is a vibration, and with my sleeping sick pet in my arms half the time I want to measure his breathing rate, I’m afraid he may have felt the vibration and his sleep been disturbed. No way of exiting until the timer is up once you’ve counting is slightly inconvenient. I thought there might be a graph to show trends over time (the vet suggested this of another app which I couldn’t find) but the listing is quite sufficient for the purpose. All up, quite fine, though I’m looking elsewhere in hopes of finding one that doesn’t vibrate so much. I’m on an iPhone 5s, which is quite possibly why: I’m sure tactile feedback options for developers are more limited on this old device..FoucaultismyhomeboyVersion: 2.2
