The method to analyse cosmetic products is based on the analysis of all the ingredients of the product. Each ingredient is assigned a risk level according to the latest scientific data.

✓ Fantastic app!!!For years I have wished for something, somewhere, to help me sort out the good from the bad AND give me a better alternative! Even if you are able to read the fine print on products, it is difficult to know what these chemicals actually do. It is all here in a very user friendly app that keeps track of the products you scan and breaks down the ingredients with an explanation for it all. ✓ So usefulThe best new app I've come across in many years. I keep scanning everything at home. Already cleared out few things from my bathroom and put back on shelf few products in my yesterday's shopping and also made alternatives choices. The only suggestion would be an option not to lock the screen when shopping, as I had to unlock my phone when it looked quite a few times. ✗ Warning! It depends what you are after!Hi, I think this app is honest in what it states but the wording can be misleading. They have a list of ingredients that they think could be harmful so if an item includes it it is downgraded. My issues with that are: - the scientific evidence of some of the claims is very low -it doesn’t take into account the % of the said ingredient to assess the potential risk - it doesn’t take other factors into consideration such as environmental impact for example - the alternatives proposed are not always suitable (mainly in skincare), and consumers may have very strong detrimental effects from it (for example I had a cream for rosacea rated bad, and in the alternative selection was shown a cream for acne, had I used it on my rosacea prone skin it would have been dramatic!) All in all, could be a useful tool but there are many traps so would recommend looking for professional advice before switching products.Awsome dude is backVersion: 3.24

✗ Interesting but deceptiveThe information you show about products is useful, but boiling all that down to a single ‘health’ score is super deceptive and can be incredibly misleading. People will read into that score to mean what they want and not what it actually is telling them. You should instead encourage people to analyse each category and why it matters and why they may choose to consider or ignore it. Compare almond milk to oat milk for example: oat gets a much higher score so you’d think it’s ‘healthier’ and order your coffee. But it’s almost 5 times as calorie dense as almond which should be one of the major consideration for most. “Healthy” is so incredibly subjective and you take very few steps in this app to clarify what you mean by that. Also some of the issues you seem to have with certain additives have all of two over 10 year old citations. Is that even still relevant? What metric do you use to decide if something is worth mentioning or not? You’re also using inconsistent measurements between products. I’ve seen kcal, kj, and cals used pretty interchangeably making it really difficult for anyone to accurately compare one product to another.
