✓ Fun gameplay, but communist propagandaGame design is good, European tax dollars went far in paying for this aesthetically pleasing classic fairy tale of communist propaganda about robot workers rising against an "oppressive regime". Can't wait for Steamworld Holodomor..BuyTimeSharesVersion: 1.1

✓ Great game, but it does not support iCloud savesUnfortunately, the game does not have support for iCloud saves. So if I started playing on one device and wanted to continue playing on another, I can not do so. The only way to sync data is by going through the whole iCloud backup, delete, and restore all data process from a backup(which is very bad for someone with bad bandwidth). It is sad that this app does not support a way to upload save data to the cloud as other games have this feature..Nt345Version: 1.1

✓ OptimisationI have multiple copies of this game on different platforms as it’s a great little game to play when you have a few minutes. Sadly on iPhone I feel it’s let down by optimisation for the platform. It would be nice if the aspect ratio filled the whole display of the bigger phones but sadly it’s boxed. ✓ Not updated in 5 years, so no modern screen supportThe developers of the SteamWorld titles love to release a game with version 1.0 and never touch it again, and this game is no exception. Distracting black bars narrow the game experience as they have chosen not to update it beyond support for iPhone 8-sized screens. The game itself is lovely and a great deal of fun, but seeing the iOS status bar at all times and dealing with a lack of screen real estate means that this is objectively the worst version of the game you can buy at the moment..QwedgeonlineVersion: 1.1

✓ Am I missing something . . . ?I purchased this game on the strength of the solid reviews and the misconception that at £9.99 it must be an impressive game with significant development and in depth gameplay. Either I am fundamentally missing something or this is the rip off of the year - it is essentially a very limited turn based walk through of a pretty basic story hiding behind the title of a ‘strategy’ game. There is nothing strategic about this game at all. I stuck with it for a while hoping it would get more challenging but unfortunately my time was wasted. Visually it’s reasonably pleasant to look at but beyond this it is nothing more than a child’s platform turn based shooter. It would be decent enough for a few hours at say £0.99 but for £9.99 I was expecting something that matched the price tag which it most certainly does not!.Jez845Version: 1.1

✓ Great but...This a fantastic game, but about the plus. Why you choose to go plus and start over. Could you possibly add the ability to go back to normal. ✓ WHYI think that this game deserves recognition and I hardly say that or write reviews about games. I love this completely but on the new phones it hasn’t been optimized so the screen is to small for example the i phone 11 so it is hard to play but overall a good game in general and I hope to see more of it.Vh sauce is goodVersion: 1.1

✓ Some annoying issuesThe gameplay is fine. The payoff isn’t great in the end. Waiting for the enemy to take its turn when there are 50 little guys on there made me stop playing. It’s really annoying. Also most of the dialogue could be skipped. It’s not really relevant yet takes up a lot of time. Then there’s the docking process where you have to walk forever to meet with the next contact. Why make it so far away for no reason? I’m not even going to finish the game. The last level became ridiculously hard and I’m not sitting through each 20 minute turn from the enemy. Graphics are nice though..DzombieVersion: 1.1

✓ Great game but...I’ve played this on a number of consoles and really enjoyed it. So this review is t aimed that the game at all. More simply put it doesn’t appear to fully support newer devices. I’m using an iPhone 11 Pro, and the game doesn’t take advantage of the full screen but behaves like it’s on an older generation iPhone. ✓ It’s alright for a time fillerGame is alright but overstays its welcome. The weapon upgrades are largely incremental, there’s a bit of variation but it’s mainly numbers going up for a few general types. Inventory is super tedious, you need to delete items after every mission. Hats Are pointless, Purely cosmetic no gameplay application. The tactical gameplay is fine- but not very challenging overall. Had to redo some missions but not many. And the story and dialogue? Completely throwaway. I stopped reading conversations super early on. Skip skip skip. So it’s worth a bit of fun, but five stars? ✓ Editors choice - really?I wanted something new to try and spent 10 bucks on this based on the promo video and it being and editors choice game. I gave it two stars because yes the graphics are pretty cool for an iOS game. As for The gameplay itself, it is SO boring. Would have got better value from a Burger King meal.
