Eliminates need for an external monitorThis allows me to use my iPhone 8 Plus as an external monitor. As a result I can use the funds for other gear. My phone is smaller and lighter than a monitor, so it doesn’t add unneeded weight to my rig. Even if your shoots require a full monitor, the $20 app can carry you until you have the funds..Version: 4.5

Fantastic alternative to an external monitor! This app works awesome with my Lumix G85/G80 well worth the price. Very minimal Lag which is to be expected with a wireless setup. Definitely beats buying an external monitor for the price!.Version: 5.1

Disappointed:( (Happy update)I’m using my iPhone as the hotspot and WiFi source and my camera connects but the app tell me I’m not connected:( Am I overlooking a setting?! Update: I’ve never encountered a developer who was so on the spot and helpful!!! You were correct in your assessment! You’ve got a life long customer!!!.Version: 5.1

Good overall, but does it serve the purpose?I think the idea is great. But what many of you may be wondering is, is it worth the £20 price tag. My short answer is No. But I have great things to say. They let you know before purchase that they are not going to work as well as expectation or what a external display would. A lot of good useful features. The reason why my short answer was no is that the lag that comes after every few seconds is too much to handle. If you’re focus pulling, you don’t have time to be missing out a second for every 4 you have a reasonable image, it throws you off. As soon as Sony make the cameras connectivity better to mobile devices the moment that I believe it will be worth every penny, maybe more!.Version: 7.3

Fabulous for GH5My eyes are sadly aging, I will probably drop the money on an Atomos at some point. For now seeing noise and focus on my iPad, vlog to rec709 LUT, all the scopes and peaking options, all for 20 bucks? Easiest 5 star rating I have ever given.Version: 4.5

Must Have Vlogging ToolI really appreciate this app when I’m vlogging and not close enough to my camera to turn it on and off when I want to start another take for ease in editing. The controls are intuitive and fast. I use it with a GH5 and GH5S. Works really well..Version: 6.3

Exactly what I was needing for my GH5Feature wise this app is simply astonishing. Well done, Mr. Wilt! Honestly this app deserves five stars, the only thing holding it back is a sketchy user interface. But tech tools are often lacking in appearance and more than make up for it in function, which is the case with this app. Funny thing that did happen was the first time I tried to start recording remotely, this app crashed my whole phone. But has worked just fine ever since. That stuff can just happen. If you want to do serious video recording on a Panasonic GH5 using V-Log L and you want to carry around as little gear as possible, this is the app to use to get your shots right the first time..Version: 4.5

True to its nameWas looking for a simple monitor for my a6400 and this puts my iPad to work very nicely. Lag is negligible. What controls are available for my Sony are nice to have, but the monitoring function is used here primarily for framing checks during live streaming. As the developer suggests, take a few minutes to suss out his site (videos etc.) before you purchase. (If you fiddle with menu settings on the (Sony) camera while connected, the connection will time out)..Version: 9.2

Lost Connection After Latest UpdateWas working fine with GH4, after latest update, fieldmonitor no longer connect to my GH4 while Panasonic image app still can, am I the only one with this issue? Tried all the regular steps such as restart WiFi, restart phone, restart camera, reinstall app, forget and reconnect WiFi. Update 12/12/17 : Got support from Adam, much appreciated, since iPad mini 4 of mine still work, likely my iPhone 6 Plus is the source of issue, tried everything Adam suggested with no luck but really don’t want to factory reset my phone (last untried step, not suggested by Adam). Will try my luck again when Adam release his next update..Version: 4.3

FANTASTIC APPReally great to be able to use my phone with my Sony Rx100 series cameras 👍🏼 Scopes are a huge help even though the resolution of the feed is limited by the camera’s WiFi, but having waveform and false color is soooo helpful and I don’t have to carry my atomos around anymore on run and gun sessions ❗️.Version: 4.4

Perfect for AnamorphicMaybe include lower frame rate but much higher res stream mode for precision anamorphic focusing.Version: 3.7

Works great! This is a great solution for my gh4. I really like the fact that I’m not physically connected to the camera with any cables. I don’t have to worry about packing an external monitor because it’s already in my pocket! I highly recommend this app..Version: 4.5

Its PerfectExactly what i was looking for.... picture looks great, low latency. Hate how some people bought the app without reading the description, and gave a low review. Btw, using it on panasonic gh5!.Version: 4.1

Excellent tool and great supportI am very pleased with this app. Having full screen monitoring is a huge help. I have a Panasonic GX85 and for some strange reason, Panasonic disables focus peaking and zebra stripe through the WiFi stream while recording video. Both are present in the stream before the recording is started and while recording it is only available on the camera screen. The extra features in this app allow me to still use sharpened edges and light to do essentially the same thing through the app. I had some pre-sale questions and Adam was excellent and answered all my questions very quickly. The lower reviews seem to be from customers whom did not read the description of the app to see if it would or would not be compatible with their camera. If your camera is in the supported list, or an email to Adam verifies it is, then buy this app. It is so much better than the ones the manufacture offers for monitoring purposes. If you just need to download images, the manufacture app probably already lets you do that. This one won’t..Version: 4.6

Awesome tool, serves as decent monitor replacement!Love this app. I have an Atomos Shogun Inferno and will often use my iPhone instead to monitor because it's so much lighter and allows me to change settings..Version: 3.5

Great monitorI love this app I’m able to connect my Sony a6300 to my 12.9 iPad Pro as a full screen monitor I have a photo booth and use it in the booth Also videotaping a wedding I can control the camera with my iPad with camera in the balcony Setting it to re-record at 29.59 is awesome Worth the price of it alone A must app to have !.Version: 5.1

Sony A7sii no S-log recordingWhen I using this app, the picture profile becomes disabled so I can’t record in S-log . Can I have a solution for this problem please? If not, the app becomes useless for me! Thx!.Version: 6.0

Worth the priceLife saver. Panasonic doesn’t offer external monitor support on the G7 and their official app doesn’t offer full screen monitoring (why???). You could shell out $300 for an atomos recorder (more than I paid for the camera body), or you could spend $20 on this very capable app. It’s surprising usable. I’m not sure if you could rely on this for super professional work, but for my use case it does the job. It seems like the developer maintains the app fairly well, so hopefully this can be a good long term solution for me. Keep up the good work!.Version: 10.0

Dual ScreenTesting iPad 2 and iPhone 13. I tried messaging will have to email, but I was trying to run both off of one camera. I am also still inquiring over black magic? (GH4 GH5 BMPCC4 cams I use).Version: 9.5

Just downloaded and blown awayAmazing field monitor for the price recently seen used on crftsho for their newest feature film, and was sold, still haven't used on set but expecting great results , was going to buy a small hd for all of its features but it think this shall do just fine at a fraction of the cost , I will leave an upadated review once used in a real world scenario.Version: 3.7

Very low lagVery low latency on Sony A7s iii. Was a bit laggy on A7 iii. Perhaps wifi is better on A7s iii. Great to see effect of Phantom Alexa LUTs on SLOG3. Highly Recommended..Version: 8.4

Great on iPhone SE, not so great on iPad 7th generationHello, It runs really well on my iPhone SE, but footage got stuck very very often, it’s not latency, it got frozen for a few frames every 2-3 secs. Any tips how to get better transmission on my iPad?.Version: 8.2

Connected to GH5s no problem.Works as intended, connects easily (first day with camera and took me 30 seconds to figure it out) its not 4K monitoring resolution, or even 1080p (from what I can see) but it’s 100% worth for 20$ and there’s no latency which is amazing..Version: 5.1

Simply just an amazing appAn incredible app with pro features, I can just use my iPhone and my gh5, to get the correct exposure, focus, composition... nice done!.Version: 3.7

Unquestionably awesomeI'm in love with this app. It makes my life a lot easier on commercial shoots when the client needs to see what I'm shooting without the hassle of wires. The awesome LUT feature makes it even more valuable to all my shoots. Now I'm even using my iPhone + as an on camera monitor as it's a lot brighter than the GH5's screen. Best app for GH5 so far.Version: 3.7

Superb appApp works exactly as it should. If you own a Panasonic camera (I use with a G80) and want the ultimate monitoring / control app this is the one. The focus peaking WHILST filming is brilliant. The developer is responsive and helpful. And updates are regular. Sadly you're still limited to a fairly low resolution preview but this is not the fault of the app..Version: 4.3

Handy and easy to use.I use Lumix cameras. Mostly my directors monitor is a very bright and sharp one by way of a Hollyland wifi setup. For a second camera I can give the director my iPad showing this app. It is very quick to get going and you can turn off the camera controls to free up the screen. Much easier than the Panasonic apps. The only extra I’d like is to be able to see time code..Version: 9.3

I don’t regret buying FieldMonitorI am using FieldMonitor with a Sony A7iii and an IPad Pro 10.5”. FieldMonitor is an adequate way to give clients something to look at and play with while they try to slow down production. The app works well enough to pass off to someone who wants to feel involved. FieldMonitor is a great concept that was built by someone who clearly has production experience. I hope people that are interested in buying this app realize the limitations before they complain about their $20. With that said, I would not rely on this product as a primary field monitor. My guess is the developer would not be offended by that statement. Pros: 1. Low latency. Didn’t expect it to be this good. 2. Customizable features. Well done. 3. Intuitive. 4. Scopes are pretty accurate. More testing is needed. 5. I have a live image on my flippin’ IPad Pro. 6. Fair Price Cons: 1. “Network timeouts” when playback is engaged on the camera. Is there any way to avoid re-connecting every time I want to see playback on my camera? That is frustrating. 2. Resolution 3. No playback. (I know, read the description.) I don’t regret buying FieldMonitor and I look forward to future updates. Thank you Adam..Version: 5.1

Amazing app for cheap monitoringRecently purchased this app to monitor my GH4 on my gimbal while filming weddings. It’s a great app for the price, and I would recommend it! The resolution is a bit low (understandable since it’s through WiFi) but I would love to see focus peaking while recording. Currently focus peaking works just only in standby mode..Version: 4.5

Amazing field monitor appThis works beautifully with my Panasonic Lumix. Such a cool app. Worth the price. Get it now. I am over the moon. Cheers..Version: 5.1

Good appDoesn’t work well on my Sony a6000 (note) but I like how it works well on other cameras and remember to read the description :).Version: 4.5

Works great with my Sony a6500For the love of God, READ BEFORE PURCHASING! Love this app on both my iPad & iPhone. Works as expected. Found via DSLR Shooter..Version: 4.1

Doesn’t work for what I need it forBasically just wanted to be able to preview the images after I take them on my iPad, emailed the developer to make sure this would work and they responded promptly that as long as the camera shows a preview it will mirror to the app. However, using a sony a7ii it only shows “Capturing image” on the app and then goes away after the image preview is gone from the app. Edit: Adam was very helpful and apologized for the incorrect info and was willing to give me a refund. I declined as I felt it was unnecessary. He reached out a second time and was insistent on making it right. Honestly a really standup guy. Deserves more than five stars because of how great Adam has been..Version: 8.6

Perfect for the GH5As a monitor this is better than Panasonic’s App, really impressed!.Version: 4.10

Excellent! How in the world in the latency be so much better with this app than the actual HDMI out of my GH4 camera? Amazing! This app is killer. Using it with my GH4 on a gimbal mounted to a boom pole. Love it!.Version: 4.0

Works great with GH5s and XApp works great and is a very simple method of wireless monitoring for a director. Obviously does not give the resolution of a teradek system but is thousands less. Latency is non existent and range is anywhere from 10 feet to 30 depending on the interference in the area. Highly recommend!.Version: 4.7

Sony picture profilesHi I really like the app, downside is when using my a7sii via the remote app, I can’t change the colour profiles. Will this be updated, as I’ll probably hold off using it until it get implemented. Thanks.Version: 4.6

Disconnect problem with GH4I’m working with a GH4 and I use the FeildMonotor app when using my gimbal. That app has awesome features and truly allows you to operate the camera. The only problem is that the app will frequently lose connectivity with the GH4. The iPhone and the camera are less than 12 inches away from each other when in use. I know it’s not my iPhone because the free Panasonic version stays connected without issues..Version: 4.7

Back-button focus? My Sony is set up for back-button focus. The instructions say I must have AF w/shutter turned on. This prevents back-button focus from working. Other that that the app works as advertised..Version: 8.4

WIFI Professional Production MonitorThis app is all one could expect from a full featured production monitor complete with exposure and focus scopes. There is a little lag but given the power you get it is tolerable. When we have the GH5 hung from a gimbals on a crane in the studio FieldMomitor is priceless as it eliminates the heavy cables we need to get images to the production bench. Heavy HDMI cable inhibit the gamble. The scopes you get in FieldMomitor are not available in the Panasonic app..Version: 6.3

A must have app.I use a Panasonic GH4 and previous used their own ‘Image’ app which is free. Field Monitors improves on the Panasonic image app in almost all ways. Having the footage full screen is excellent. I wish it could show it in higher resolutions on the phone or iPad but that is restriction on the cameras end and there is nothing that the developers can do. Maybe a fake upscale?? The only thing I’d really like is iPhone X support. I don’t like having the wasted space due to black bars. Thank you for creating this all, the price is a little high but a must have app if you’re at a certain level of filmmaking but cant buy a $300+ monitor.Version: 4.5

Cool app. But need refund doesn’t work with cameraThe app is cool, but looking to get a refund because it’s not compatible with my camera, i should’ve read the description better..Version: 4.10

Great idea. Video output on the G7 isn't great.Super cool for $20 bucks. I use it to see my lighting adjustments in real time instead of running back to the camera. It's almost like I'm my own assistant, and that's something a wired monitor can't do. The quality of the video over wifi from my Panasonic G7 isn't great. I can't really tell what's in focus. Seems to be very useful for exposure. Slight color difference between iPhone and the camera LCD. Autofocus seems to work well, but trying to focus manually through the app moves super slow. False color is my favorite part. I wish there was a quick on and off for it instead of having to tap and slide. Definitely better than nothing for me, I just really wish I could check focus. The G7 can't monitor out over HDMI so this is really nice. Maybe the GH4 or GH5 has a better quality output. I'll have to try it. One issue is whenever I try to jump back to the Panasonic app for playback I have to reconnect to the cameras wifi and then reopen the field monitor app. That can take a minute..Version: 4.1

Outstanding. Must have!Hard to believe there's so few reviews, everyone I know with a GH has this and swears by it! Immensely powerful second monitor and controller for level checker and...yeah. Considering it's all over wifi it does rather well. Crucial for framing in difficult places or a handing to the director to show them what your running shot looks like when you're moving around..Version: 3.7

GreatHas limitations that the developer likely cannot control. Thank you for supporting Sony cameras!.Version: 6.3

Amazing app and so much potential!Huge thanks to Adam for investing time and effort into developing such an innovative and comprehensive wireless camera monitor app. Making use of the iPhone as a lightweight and handy alternative to a full blown camera monitor just makes so much sense for us filmmakers on a budget and trying to keep the gear bags under control. Great work!.Version: 4.4

Amazing. Works. No latencyBought this in 11/2017. I was looking for an external monitor but gave this a try and it works just perfect! No latency or very hard to notice while connecting to GH5 ‘s WiFi. It’s Full screen. Quality is workable. Not 1080 but that’s already in the description. Highly recommend for any filmmaker.Version: 4.2

Must have for GH4!This app is incredible! I don’t know how but there is no latency! I was going to buy an external monitor, but not anymore! Well worth the money! Great app!.Version: 4.1

Powerful video toolIf you shoot video with a supported camera, such as a GH4 or GH5, you'll be surprised at the usefulness of this app. With adjustable level false color for exposure and the ability to remotely control such features as focus, recording, aperture, shutter speed and focus peaking-and more-the price is a fraction of what a dedicated monitor costs. Usable with iPhones and iPads, so you can have a screen as big as you need it. Frequent updates bring refinements and new features..Version: 3.6

Perfect addition to the GH5Part of the must have apps for working professional. Well done!.Version: 4.6

Amazing app... only missing one thing...I really love this thing for the gh5. Our HDMI port broke so I couldn’t use my SmallHD monitor, but this app solved the issue AND gave me easy access to change settings and record, much like RED’s touchscreen monitors. The ONLY thing I wish this had was a way to daisy chain the feed, so I can use my phone on the camera but I can also send a feed to a field monitor for clients or remote operator. If this was added to the app for multiple devices to be connected, and maybe a “client” version that hid all controls, this would get even more than 5 stars if I could!.Version: 8.4
