Brain.fm - Focus Music for Negative User Reviews

Keeps on crashingI wanted to like it but unfortunately I only got to use it once and then every time after it crashed. Seemed good when it worked but I guess I’ll never really know..Version: 3.5.8

Great product. Dreadful customer serviceLove this product would love to give a great review, but I’ve had enormous difficulties signing up and getting customer support to resolve issues with payment. Seems really bizarre, if they want to make a success of this business this seems an obvious (and easy) thing to crack.Version: 3.4.27

Good concept, frustrating UIAs someone with ADHD I find Brain.fm useful, especially to help me sleep. The app is pretty enough, but very frustrating and difficult to use. There are two core issues the team needs to address. 1. When you select a category like deep sleep, it automatically chooses a track. There is no way to choose, it just starts playing. The only way I can find what I want is to click details and see what the track is, and then use the filters to try and narrow down the choices. I want deep sleep and I prefer low brightness. But The cannot set that filter and see the tracks that match my criteria and choose one. I don’t know if 0, 1, 3, or 10 tracks match what I want, it just automatically picks one to play with no information, no feedback, and no choice. For sleeping I like beach, wind, water, and night sounds, but there is no way to filter for those tracks that are beach or wind and low brightness. Even if there was, it just plays one with no choice or feedback. The only way to find tracks I like is to keep twiddling the filters and then listen and click details to see the neural effect, brightness, and sound type. Then keep blindly doing that over and over until I stumble into a track I like. 2. There needs to be a way to set up a play list so that it’s not just one track playing for 8 hours. It can get repetitive. There is an end to each track and you can hear when it ends and restarts. What I need is the ability to select multiple tracks and have it play one, then the next, then the next etc. I want to be able to set how long before it changes, say 90 minutes, and have it automatically move through the playlist and repeat as needed with the option to shuffle. I need to be able to choose deep sleep racks for the first part of the night and sleep and wake for the later stages, with something to help me wake up at the end. It’s also frustrating that every time there is a notification of new tracks since I started a few months ago, there have been no new sleep tracks. There is only one guided sleep track, and the only way to find that out is to keep pressing guided sleep and always getting that one track. There needs to be more guided sleep options with different voices, different talk tracks, etc. I am hoping the team can make the app easier to use and work on more sleep content. One more thing. I use this primarily for slee.Version: 3.5.19

Pretty... but creepy? It’s a little unnerving, they seemingly use the same three frequencies and oscillations for every track in it’s category. And it’s not subtle, even on low you can hear the oscillating over whichever track is playing. I’ve listened to frequency and ambient music for years and I’ve never quite felt in-a-twilight-zone-elevator-quietly-drifting-through-an-endless-void like I do with these tracks. They do however have a luxurious feel to them. The sound quality is really clean and soft and you can really feel it surround you. That aspect is what’s relaxing. It feels a little like you’re being pampered -as long as you don’t think too hard about what you’re hearing. As far as focus goes, I feel not much different and I’ve been listening for almost an hour. I feel... somewhat disturbed, as if something bads about to happen. It’s sometimes got an almost impending-doom feel, like dystopia in a crystal clean glass mansion. Good stuff guys, i’ll keep it..Version: 3.1.2

Dodgy behaviour - you’ve been warnedTrying to cancel your subscription is impossible. FAQs refers to pages that don’t exist, and this company does not reply to emails or requests to cancel. Stay away..Version: 3.1.10

Was a good app, latest upgrade is rubbishWas the best app ever until the latest UI upgrade No longer organized or intuitive to use, operation is frustrating I’m pretty much ready to delete the app after a week of the new version, and I’ve been a subscriber for well over a year previously.Version: 3.1.5

Update has ruined app!I loved this app and had high hopes for the update. Unfortunately it crashes, music takes forever to buffer and play (if at all) to the point where I’m so frustrated it’s going to take more than some music to help me relax. The new design and colour scheme is also somewhat alarming. Purple is not calming!!.Version: 3.1.5

Just not worth the moneyFirst up. Trying to use the in-app feedback option simply does not work because it's like using iOS 4 and you cannot remove the keyboard out of the way to be able to press the send button. Some of us like the iPhone SE instead of these silly phablets. Next. The cost is so unbelievablely high. I already have apple music which already includes lots of binaural music at higher quality and available across all of my devices. Maybe is your don't have a music subscription it might be worth it..Version: 3.1

Generally pretty goodThis app is honestly mostly as described! if you don’t wanna spend time looking for playlists that will help you focus this is perfect for you! i only gave it 3 stars however for a couple of reasons: 1. they don’t allow you to set custom times, for example if i know i have exactly 45 minutes before i need to start getting ready for something, then i have to either settle for 30 or an hour there is no option to customize. 2. the price is steep for what it is, and the reality is (at least for myself, as someone with ADHD) it doesn’t do a whole lot more than a good lofi playlist. the main pull is the “neural effect” which admittedly is very nice! (it’s essentially modulating of sounds within the song at different speeds from ear to ear) but that just doesn’t feel enough to give me the value i need at the price point they’re asking for. 3. i was only able to find one study about the benefits of the modulation (neural effect) and it only specified that it benefitted people with ADHD, which generally i assume a lot of people using this app will not have ADHD. which to me kind of defeats the purpose of an all encompassing focus/relaxation app if the focus part is designated to a very specific aspect of neurodiversity. this (in my opinion) also harms the “backed by science” claim they make, since a majority of the studies they link to are sponsored/paid for by them. which again, possibly causes conflict of interest. i think this app has some benefits and could be useful for people who don’t care to search for a good lofi playlist on spotify, but for most people this app is over glorified and not worth the money. for the same amount you could get access to spotify’s countless hours of user generated playlists, & even create your own playlists. the only thing you’ll miss out on is the modulation, which again, only seems to benefit a small group of listeners..Version: 3.5.8

I enjoy using this app....still has room for improvementReceived a 1 year paid subscription as a gift. I like that I can download tracks for offline listening and adjust the duration of listening tim. I want to use guided meditation more but cannot get to a quiet space in my head and body with that awful voice narration. I read a review where someone said the music overpowered the man’s voice and to adjust the volume so the guiding voice is audible. I have the opposite experience. The voice is too loud, harsh, overpowering, NOT conducive to enabling a meditative state. Also, when listening to the new tracks - groove focus and piano, I cannot see the top of the screen to press the menu in the corner to go back to the main screen. It’s very very faint in the background ..Version: 2.47

Paid yearly subscription and cannot use it !! Fraud!I paid the yearly and very expensive subscription through Apple every thing working fine until 2 months ago. Then I get asked to log in which I never did before. Sent email to company; tried resetting and still nothing. This is FRAUD!!! Return my money or make it work!!!!.Version: 3.1.5

For something that’s supposed to help you relax...... it makes you want to throw something through a window. The app constantly asks me to upgrade in spite of my already having a subscription. Nothing works to reboot it. Tech support are rubbish and use phrases like “I’m reaching out to you “ and other faux sympathetic phrases to fob you off and not fix the problem. Again, it just makes you want to throw something through a window. Don’t tell me how much you appreciate me getting in touch. Fix the problem. I loved this app for years. I now hate it. Let’s face it, you use this app a lot of the time because you are stressed. Half an hour futilely trying to get the bloody thing to work, and your stress levels are through the roof..Version: 3.4.13

Massive rip offDon’t bother downloading unless you are willing to pay $7 every month or $50 a year. You only get a couple of free sessions before they want you to sign up. I would happily pay $7 for lifetime access, but not every month. The app is good, but there are other similar apps with a one off fee. I don’t know who they are trying to fool, asking so much for a simple app. But if you are made of money, go for it. These app developers are getting way ahead of themselves, trying to make a fortune. Let me know if you guys come to your senses with a realistic payment. I would be happy to give your app a try..Version: 3.1.3

When it works it’s amazingThe app experience is buggy, but I’m a big fan of the music on it. It is better than other music for getting you in the zone, but the app is sometimes very aggravating..Version: 3.1.3

Needs constant re-downloadingI find it useful for both sleep and focus but need to regularly delete and re-download the app, as it sometimes freezes and won’t play, or will only play as long as the screen isn’t locked. Sometimes I lose all my downloaded library when this happens..Version: 3.1.10

Great music / sounds awful appApp constantly fails to respond, you load it up and just get a black screen, or you press on something and it does not respond at all. Might be a server or app issue (same problem on multiple connections). I love the music and find it useful but they do not fix or develop the app at all to improve this, it’s always been this way and it’s never been fixed..Version: 3.4.5

Trial too short, impracticalI found that this actually helped me when my ADHD is hard to get thru. I felt real relaxation using it but I can’t afford to may monthly... why isn’t this just a one off purchase app with options to purchase more along the way? I am having to delete it now, also the trial period isn’t practical or long enough. Good app but can’t give it more stars because of this..Version: 3.3.632

1 month free scamI took the free trial for 3 days, and during which, was offered 1 month free if I submitted video feedback to some questions. I took 30 minutes of my time to give detailed feedback on their questions. After I submitted and did the call, the page disappeared and I never heard from brain fm again regarding this offer :( The app and service is good, but that to me was a red flag about the customer service!.Version: 3.4.25

Great concept, lacking executionWhen the app works properly it awesome. I genuinely feel a difference in focus and relaxation when listening to the music. Despite the bugs in the software I still use it daily. This company should probably hire some new devs though because there are just unacceptable issues with the software. Biggest problem is just the app randomly pausing, then having to open it back up and start playing it again. Also offline mode is pretty weird. Some of the songs that I have downloaded don’t seem to be available through the explore menu. So somewhere there is a disconnect in categorization. I get the idea of designing an app to be stupid simple but I need just a bit more control over things. Maybe I’d like to relax more than 30 minutes. So I think it’s a worthwhile download for the content rather than the lacking app experience..Version: 2.45.3

No StatsGood Music to focus but I would like to know how much I am listening on average and what kind of music. There should be option to view the weekly, monthly, yearly stats. Also would love if there is a new category for workout music.Version: 3.5.1

Excellent example how to degrade user experience by “over designing”I’ve been using the service/app since it was introduced - 2013? 2014? and each major design/app update makes it worse than it was. There are a lot of bugs/issues/“unnecessary features” was introduced lately with the major update, but here is my favorite and most annoying, completely redesigned “session end” behavior which brings your frustration with the app to a next level: 1. Old app used to have a gentle fade at the end, now the sound just “stops in the middle” 2. Often you want to just continue the session after it finished - in older version, you just tap “play” on the phone screen, or if the app is open, in the session screen. Now, you have to see stupid “congratulations” banner. Mind me asking “congratulations” with what? Quite annoying to see it 5-6 times throughout the day in a past couple months. And then you have to tap “go home”, select type of session, time and tap play to continue, while it used to be just tap “play”. Why these complications are necessary? Your designers get extra points for each frustrated user? I don’t see any other meaningful explanation. KISS, aka Keep it simple. P.s. “repeat indefinitely” still stops sound after 120min..Version: 3.3.632

Doesn't let me try sleep or meditationDoesn't let me try sleep or meditation in the free version. I'm not remotely inclined to pay for the app unless i can see if it actually works..Version: 2.44

Free trial is uselessI downloaded this app to trial the sleep and mediation modes but neither of these is available to trial under the free version. I won't purchase the Pro upgrade until I can see if works or not, so please, developer, take note of all the complaints about this failing in the system, as I'm sure it's costing you a ton of potential sales..Version: 2.44

Kept asking to pay again - No support! After paying for annual pro, the app kept asking me to upgrade and wouldn’t allow me to play any of the music. I messaged support 4 times with no reply. Eventually I had to lodge a complaint to Apple to get a full refund. Wasted hours of my time!.Version: 3.4.23

Interesting appI liked the idea of the app and used the opportunity to trial usage for free which was nice. I haven’t taken up subscription since it struck me that there is so much better music out there which has been composed and played by real people (rather than AI) who could do with us buying their music. Try ENO, Basinski, Aphex Twins, Keith Jarrett, Pole, The Necks or spread your wings to Mozart, Bach, Satie, David Lang, Max Richter, Arvo Part, Murcof, Gyorgy Ligeti. The list is enormous and all have created and some are creating work that can be listened in the background yet is able put you in another place without intrusion. But I do like the idea of the app and would enjoy it if it used music created by people. Maybe it does and the trial time didn’t give me time to find it. If so then let me know and I shall have another go!.Version: 3.1.10

Too flimsyUnless I have perfect wifi connection, it never works. It’s never successfully downloaded anything for offline use either :(.Version: 3.1.2

App is unfit for purposeI’m writing this having purchased a subscription to this app based on the free trial (on the web browser) and apparently decent reviews on here - silly me didn’t sort by most recent. The app simply doesn’t work, you will be lucky to get more than 0.5 hrs of it functioning before you need to force quit, load it up again, and hope it decides to play correctly this time. The annual subscription is not cheap and it has been a complete waste of money..Version: 3.1.10

Great idea poor executionThe idea and research here is great, but I don’t think that the app actually helps sooth the mind. If anything, especially if you are someone young that wants to use this app, this app will only increase stress levels for you. It’s happened to all my friends and even myself who use the app. For some reason, and I don’t know exactly why, the lack of pace lulls your mind into not executing the work you are trying to do efficiently and quickly, and drags out the amount of time you have to do your work. The app also is purposely designed for you to stay on it as long as possible, as all apps are, and while that can be good, it also means that you are spending less time working and more time choosing a song you might like. I don’t see significant differences in songs from focus and meditation, to even sleep. I like the idea for this app but don’t recommend it..Version: 3.1.10

It’s ok but not reinventing the wheelIt’s ok Personally, I prefer to listen to classical music, especially baroque instead. Works better for me and it’s free. It doesn’t make the app any worst, it does what it’s supposed to do but it’s not like it’s reinventing the wheel..Version: 3.1.10

Helpful, but.App needs improvement. It crashes often and their is no ability to resume a session where you paused. It would also be better if it was possible for the user to clear the “Jump back in” section. Or just don’t have it, as their isn’t really any point where it just restarts the session anyway (isn’t really jumping back in). I understand that it is still likely a work in progress, so that doesn’t really bother me too much, just thought I’d point it out. It’s also ridiculously expensive for what it is, but I can see that coming down one day when perhaps if it gains more users. I’ll see that day out, because the music has been pretty helpful for my studies. Any prospective users, stick to the web app for now, it’s much more refined, and functional. Hope this helps..Version: 3.1.10

Music stops playing... even when it was already supposed to be fixedOk so i got this app a while ago when it looked more colorful and had more images(november 24, 2017 to be exact .. i made sure to check my accounts purchased apps through the app store ) and i remember the music stopped playing. and by that i mean every single time i would hit the play button it would automatically switch to pause. i kinda lost all interest in this app because it was so annoying and frustrating to deal with ( especially music that is supposed to calm you)so i haven’t used it for a long time. but now i started using it again.... and guess what! the same thing keeps happening. now that’s almost 2 years!! i haven’t made a review for this app when it first started to happen , but this has made me really angry because i love the music but i just hate that there are no changes especially for a long period of time . and i looked at other reviews and read that the developer said it was fixed in 3.1.2, but i’m in 3.1.5 and it’s still happening! i hate it because i want to love this app because the music is so good, but i can’t because of the all the bugs that somehow never get fixed for me so i don’t know what to do in this situation.Version: 3.1.5

Paid for subscription but no access???Completed my 5 free sessions then upgraded. No access?? Sent a hep/suppprt notification and no response. Sent another one so hopefully it will get resolved soon. Otherwise I’ll be cancelling..Version: 3.1.10

I want to love this app but ...I want to love this app but it the majority of the time I use it it stops playing and says it’s having a difficult time connecting to WiFi. I have had this problem while connected at home, school, and other places. It cuts out over cellular connection as well. This has been an ongoing problem about which I have communicated to technical support on more than one occasion. Regardless of updates I still have interruptions which is exactly what I’m trying to avoid by using it to FOCUS on my studies. I paid $50 and am regretting it now. Definitely will not renew. The only saving grace is that if I can manage to download a track I like them I can listen offline. Great tracks but a greater pain in the....Version: 2.49

A complete scamGreat product but they scam you into signing up for a subscription and then fail to honour it. I paid for a 12 month subscription for $75, but despite numerous emails to Brain FM and Apple I still have no Service and no response to say they’re resolving it. Stay clear of this fraudulent app!.Version: 3.1.3

Playback issueThere is an issue where playback stops when I turn off my phone. Music resumes when I open my phone again. It appears there is a bug in the background playback. Force quitting the app fixes it but it keeps coming back Happy to change my review once this is fixed..Version: 3.5.20

Frustrating experience using this appThe music is good, but the app backend is clearly broken. Despite having an ongoing subscription, the app periodically won’t recognize this and I have needed to reach to to their tech support, typically taking 24hrs to refresh my account so I can use the app again. Support never offer an explanation or escalate my complaints so I’ve started using Endel instead. You’ve lost this long term subscriber..Version: 3.4.20

Never used an app with as many problemsWhen I first downloaded the app, I founded it amazing but after a while I started having problems with it that made it useless, and even with uploading an signing off then in , it didn’t help something was always going wrong , the connection, the sound , the app stopping when not wanted. And after contacting the support team for help , I’ll just realised that they were useless, not helping and not even reading your email, just repeating you to try everything you already did even before contacting them and not making an effort to help. Conclusion at first I was happy but quickly became désappointed and really annoyed..Version: 3.1.10

So many issues - mainly paying and not getting any access!Revision: the team eventually got back to me after 2-3 weeks. They gave me an extra month and were apologetic. I do really like the app, it’s just a bummer about some of the glitches in the UX. I’ve had some of the generic connectivity issues that other people have talked about, but the biggest one is having subscribed for pro features and being charged but not having access to any of these! I’ve had one email response from support, but having followed up now three or four times with no response I’m losing hope. It’s a nice idea but a paid app that has these sorts of problemsIs absolutely not okay. Maybe they’ll come and fix this for me, but I’m not holding my breath!.Version: 3.1

Notifications? Infinity?Notifications?! Please stop asking me to enable them every time I start the app! I am trying to be more focused and not more distracted. Putting Infinity play doesn’t work well when locking screen. It seems like it only buffer 15min of the track and after that 15 minutes sometimes it stops, switches track or there is a gap sound as it transitions to the same song..Version: 3.4.27

Buggy and subpar customer serviceI tried to like this app. The concept is great, and I did like to fall asleep to a number of the sounds on the app. The problem is the app is really buggy and the UI is not intuitive at all. It’s like some scientists got together, thought of a great concept, but couldn’t get the right people to actually build it. I used this app for over a year. I really tried to like it, and it just kept getting worse with each major update. I renewed just before an update which I did not like, and when I tried to ask for a refund, crickets. Given all the competing apps out there, I wouldn’t waste for your time with this one. If it was 5 bucks it might be worth it. It’s current price point makes it not worth the purchase. You’re better off buying something else, as many apps also have so many additional benefits besides sound..Version: 3.5.14

App developers not listening to paying customersI loved this app when it first came out. It was the only one of its kind and you couldn’t beat the binaural and very unique sound quality. I actually raved about it in an E-book I wrote for my online community. It a few updates later, and the app is actually MORE difficult to navigate, bulky, buggy and is actually worse as far as user interface is concerned. The sounds won’t change when tapped, the app crashes, the functionality is not streamlined. I’ve left feedback and asked questions before and gotten no response. It doesn’t seem like the changes were done with experienced beta testers, otherwise these updates would have not made sense to the experienced user who wants an app to meditate/focus/relax/sleep daily. I am a tech-savvy woman entrepreneur in my 30’s, meditate daily and often have to sleep during odd daytime hours so I use my noise canceling earbuds with a sleep feature to keep out the noises of lawn mowers, doorbells and such. In my general opinion, I don’t think the app developers are listening to users. I was a paid subscriber for months, maybe almost a year, but since no app updates seemed to improve the app (and things are not getting fixed and are becoming WORSE), I will be canceling my subscription. Such a bummer, too. Maybe I’ll invest in Pzizz..Version: 3.1.10

Insufficient tracks to sampleWanted to review the 'meditation' and 'sleep' sound tracks, but the free version only provides sound tracks for 'focus'. Guys you'd be better off providing a few free tracks of 'each' of the areas you cover rather than 10 free tracks all in the one area. Not being able to sample a meditation or sleep track doesn't inspire me to purchase the app. Sorry....Version: 2.44

Waste of time and moneyI don't write reviews in general but feel compelled to write one in this instance. I downloaded app and subscribed after hearing good things in the British Airways highlife magazine. As a frequent flyer I would try anything to sleep better in the air. After using on a long haul flight I can report it did not aid relaxation or sleep. If anything it just irritated me to the point I switched it off. Subscription cancelled after landing..Version: 2.44

Getting worseThis app has been updated recently, looks different but still slow, hangs and crashes. it is also even less intuitive than it used to be. I like the music, which really works for me but I wish the app was much much better. Finally, I think it is expensive, I would much prefer the ability to buy and keep songs... not just rent them..Version: 3.1.10

So much potentialAmazing product overall with brilliant functionality online but there’s just no good reason why the app has so many issues. After reviewing other responses it appears that they are well aware of the fact that the app will stop playing the selected music whether streaming or if it’s downloaded. In the offline portion of the app it frequently switches between whichever songs you’ve downloaded or just stops playing altogether with no apparent rhyme or reason. They usually ask for more info to get to the bottom of the issue but after so many clear concerns with the same problems you’d think they’d get it together. Not sure if they have enough support staff to actually handle the issue yet but I hope they can figure it out. I know it’s probably more complicated than it seems but I’ve never had issues like this with any other paid app that’s been around for a while. Very disappointed but hopeful..Version: 2.47

Helps focus. Good app. Notifications? Why?The service works as advertised for me, helps me focus and sleep/nap. But every time I start the app for the day, it asks me to turn on notifications. Why? What is there to be notified of from an app that basically makes sounds? Does Brain.fm really not understand that notifications are the last thing that focus minded people want? It’s fine to ask once, but the constant reminders are off-putting, they should attempt to understand their target user better..Version: 3.4.5

Connectivity problems, variable effectivenessI'm a paid subscriber. Like many other reviewers have mentioned there have been connectivity issues for a while now. I've had issues with downloading at least 25% of the time. I have used it for sleep. It doesn't seem to be super effective, and having earplugs in for hours can be uncomfortable. I have listened to some binaural beats that were more effective. The focus track seem more effective for me, but I have also had good results just focusing with electronic music without headphones and with binaural beats, with headphones. I've only tried the meditation once but it seemed fairly effective. I like that they have both guided and unguided. The app has some bugs, and there are some things that I find confusing that don't seem to be explained. I've submitted a lot of messages through their 'feedback'. Never received a reply. There is no easy way within the app to contact them. There also seems to be no way within the app to cancel my subscription, which I want to do now because it's not working reliably, citing connectivity issues when nothing else is having problems. I think it has potential, but way too many issues for a paid subscription app..Version: 2.44

LaggyBuffering is terrible - music stops and buffers an awful lot. I have very good internet..Version: 2.49

Amazing app, terrible customer services and supportThe app works and does it’s job perfectly. But make sure that you update your card in time before it expires, or do by yourself anything that would require customer support because the website is terribly designed, the staff doesn’t reply within reasonable time (weeks) neither on Facebook nor by email nor through the website. I love the app, but I was forced to create a new account with an email I don’t really use for anything but this app because it was too hard for them to reply to my emails. My card could not be updated and I couldn’t change my payment options online without the website crashing. Not ideal. The music does wonders though!.Version: 2.45.2

Good but too expensiveI used it a few times and enjoyed, would take more to decide if it is really what they claim. Unfortunately the developer is pricing the app too high, I think they would be more successful if they charged a couple of dollars a month and required an annual subscription, capturing a broader market which would allow the product to speak for itself and be a great word of mouth marketing tool if the app really is what they claim. I fear it may be short lived given the price point which will severely curtail the number of subscribers, detracting from the resiliency a broader audience would ensure..Version: 2.45.3

Great attempt- but have to provide an objective viewI am an avid music listener, with multiple audiophile headphones and massive inventory of music Here is my objective review The attempt is great, and great information provided But the biggest gripe i had around this was the ‘ oscillating’ music/background i found in many songs- ESPECIALLY ‘focus’ The oscillating( or sounds like a helicopter whirling in the background) for almost all Focus related songs was EXTREMELY distracting I think the folks who complied this( or the m/l models) did not trully understand how ‘anxiety inducing’ that background ‘helicopter’ sound is And i kept forwarding to the next song again and again and it never went away Maybe its the song? Maybe the service? Or maybe the research shows that works for people? Totally not for me. Tried the free service- and cancelled it mostly because of that. Shame Devs- please do some research, and would recommend employ Product folks who understand the depths/nuances of music in general before pushing this out to the public. Maybe this review may provide some additional ‘ guidance’ to improve the service( and so valuable a/b tests) and rethink how the complication is actually happening in the categories being presented.Version: 3.5.12

Great sounds, terrible appSomething’s really broken about how this app is coded. I’ve had it for years, and connectivity issues are constant. Find a sound you like? Download it. And never change. Because streaming anything may stop. Pause it? It won’t resume. Skip track? Maybe it’ll work, if you’re lucky. With the update, now it’s not recognizing my login half the time. The fix? From the help people? Erase and reinstall the app. I’ve done that three times tonight. When it does work, it’s got a shiny new coat of UI—but it’s still hard to navigate. Change your mind about which sleep category you want? Good luck backing out! Oh, and a TINY problem remains: it still loses connection when downloading a track, won’t advance tracks, freezes, forces a new logins... which don’t work, requiring erasure and reinstalling. The core product is SOLID, but this app needs to be rewritten from the ground up by someone who knows what they’re doing..Version: 3.1.5

Extremely glitchyWon't play smoothly and usually gets stuck buffering. Concept is good and it's great when it works but too frustrating..Version: 2.42

Poorly built appAfter I persevered for two weeks I’ve come to the conclusion the app is unusable. It plays music maybe 1 in 10 attempts, support has offered no solutions or money back despite not providing a service. This may seem strong, but in 10+ years of being an iPhone user I can’t remember a more unreliable piece of software..Version: 3.1.10

Missed opportunity: Doesn’t accommodate my ADHDWith my ADHD, I don’t just have a hard time focusing. External structure and tools to help me maintain focus are important for me and many others with ADHD. Paradoxically, however, the more rigid that structure is, the more stifling and difficult to adhere to, and the more likely it will be to do more harm than good. I thrive best under fluid structures and systems of time management. For example, I usually work on 25 minute intervals, but on some days, I may find that 7 minute or 3.5 minute intervals are what I need. I was dismayed to find that, not only was I not able to customize how long the timer was, but the five options I had to choose from were prohibitively long. Maintaining focus for 30 minutes is taxing. For 60 minutes? That requires herculean effort. At 90 minutes, I’d begin to lose focus every 30 seconds or so. And 120 minutes? Imagine how your brain would feel after reading the dictionary for six hours straight. That’s me after just two hours of any given office task. Maybe this app wasn’t designed for my particular variant of ADHD. Maybe it wasn’t designed for ADHD people at all. That’s fine; neurotypical people need focus timer apps too. But I think that, since ADHD people are more likely than most to seek out focusing apps, designing your app to accommodate our challenges by allowing more flexibility and customizability may help a sizeable chunk of your user base..Version: 3.4.8
