✓ Strategy and humorAt first, it seems like the cards are disconnected. After a while of playing, you understand there are hints you need to pick up on to reach the objectives, and ways to use the in-game cards when they pop up so you will be prepared. There is also some luck, and there are ways to protect your character against bad luck. As you play, you learn more and more of these. The humor is obvious right from the beginning..Version: 1.08

✓ Excellent, but a bit repetitive.This is an amazing and absorbing game, however when played a few times, can get repetitive. It is truly deep and makes you think about your actions. Will you let the witch sell her wares? The happiness of your population will increase but your religiousness will decrease. The deepness and witty humour will repeal the repetitiveness for a while, but the game ends up getting a bit stale. I also find it slightly unfair that the devil never returns, but that is a minor complaint. Overall Reigns is a great game and I definitely recommend buying. The tinder of Kings!.Version: 1.01
✓ Amazing!This game is amazing. It starts off with seemingly casual gameplay, until you start unlocking other cards and discovering secrets. Then the game keeps you glued on, trying to get the one true ending and all of the other ones. Currently I haven't got any of them yet, but one of my friends got all of them with some of my help. The graphics are wonderful, the characters well developed and refreshing. I highly recommend this game it is truely amazing..Version: 1.05

That's the part that gets bad reviews and it's a shame that the first reviews that can be seen are from people that can't play it. ✓ Addictive memory tester with a biteEssentially this is a memory card game which adds the spice of wickedly funny (and dark) humour while satirising the whole "kings and kingdoms" genre playfully. There is (as many detractors note) a strong element of luck in the game and you can do everything right and still have your king get it in the neck. Still, it is possible to turn the tide in your own favour and it's a real sense of achievement when you manage to get your king to a 'natural death'. Brilliant..Version: 1.09

✓ StunningThis game is and incredible experience, it mixes all the dullness of political strife with fast paced duels and the result is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome on. However one fault I have noticed is that there is a minor lack of content. (I feel really scummy for saying this but I have seen other people say the same thing). For me once I “beat the game” I felt as though there was nothing more to do, and this is where the monotony kicked in. ✓ Great Game! Well Worth The MoneyI've seen this game before a few other times, and I got curious, so I bought it. Ever since the first swipe, I loved this game. It looks straightforward, but there is so many things you can do, and a very interesting story, especially when you go for the good ending. I won't spoil anything about the story but I will say that you will need some paper to write on if you go for the good ending. The humor is great, and it has some pretty funny moments. (Like the Dragon cards) I've beaten this game about six times and I know how to get Excalibur, the good ending, and most of the achievements. I love the fencing mechanic, and the great insults during the fight. And by the way, there are about 29 deaths in the game, and I have discovered 27 of them. It will take a while to 100% complete, but it's a good achievement. I would recommend this to anybody with a few dollars and thinks this game looks interesting..Version: 1.10

In this game the ability to control relationships is turn upside down. The volition and powers the NPC have end up controlling you. Your only chance of survival is routinely memorizing patterns for swiping and prompts to succeed at a certain narrative branch. Once a branch is complete, it only opens up more. Pivotal concepts in this conversation are life, death, control, and legacy..Version: 1.09

✓ Truly a great gameHonestly, as tricky as the game is, this game is fun, addictive and really worth the price tag. I only really have two problems with the game, of which both are pretty minor details that I'm sure would be worked on anyway: 1. When a king's name is passed on it would be cool to see like "Harry I", "George II", "James VI" etc. 2. When you die it would be a nice if the method that killed you was different, for example when you reach to the top of gold the way you always die is throwing a party and "eating too much, everyone was drunk and was unaware". If there were 4 or 5 for each category that would make things feel a lot fresher. 3. Third and finally, i'm not sure if this is already a feature in the game because of it being more of a technical point but, for example, one of the sons of the king who revolted and killed him became king after. I would think it to be a good detail if things were tougher for said new king because of his actions, so basically a character's actions can have consequences sort of thing. One that could last for over 1,000 years, as mine did! I could hardly tear myself away. It seems random and a little repetitive, but life can be like that, even for kings. You start in the early 7th century, and I made it past the turn of the 21st century. Every choose you make affects your kingdom, and while there are several ways to lose your throne (and your life), is IS possible to get a good ending! ✓ Great game with fun choices.This game is great to play on public transports. The king lives (the actual game) can be super short to pretty long. (Ranging from few years (couple seconds) to a full long life (10-20 minuets) ) and the best part is that even tho the main game is about the short life’s of kings and prett much each time u start a new kings life the game starts a new. There is actually an overall story that progresses along the family tree from king to king. Things that can actually speed up the demise or success of your current king. ✓ Fantastic game!Was hesitant but had App Store credit - don't regret it for a second. Ridiculously addictive, ridiculously fun and ridiculously satisfying. Probably the best $5 I've ever spent on the App Store and I've since had multiple family members buy it and have also bought it on Steam. Only minor complaint? Once you hit the 2000s and the timeline resets, your high scores get wiped. That's it - game centre will keep your highest, but the ingame counter resets. ✓ Amazing For A Strange ConceptIt took me a while to understand this game, and truthfully I didn’t commit to paying 3 dollars for it for many months and only played it on my friend’s phone. It took observing him understanding the consequences, story, goals, and progress for me to become invested. It seems empty and bland, but it takes noticing small changes and remembering conversations to understand the plot. And yes, it is HEAVILY effected by the player’s decisions. (It has three endings based on those decisions; it really has four if you count never figuring it out as an ending) By the end I was heartbroken I couldn’t play any more. If you love choose-your-own-adventure type of games, you'll like Reigns. Lots of cool little achievements to check off, and i love all the characters you meet throughout the game. Some of the cards are pretty funny. I can keep playing for hours, trying to remain king as many years as possible without dying in the process! Maybe have a pause button discreetly implemented somewhere in the interface, just cause it's easy to have your finger slip and you accidentally swipe the card the wrong way. Not a huge deal though.
