✓ Where’s the videos?This app isn’t that great and not worth the fee. After making a video on iPad Pro you then can’t create another one because it just disappears after you stopped recording. Very frustrating..Version: 0.4.55
✓ InconsistentSo so so.... so frustrating when you’re trying to read this TelePrompter and the speed jumps around all over the place. You set it to go at a speed you’re comfortable reading and and it jumps around all over the place. ✓ Good but needs major improvementsDespite upgrading my membership, that bigvu logo would not come off my video and I had to crop it out myself. Also, the video editing performs poorly. I only added music and a logo to an 80-second video and the app just completely struggled to render anything. ✓ Great teleprompter but unusable for longer videosEditing captions for a video of 15 minutes is IMPOSSIBLE and takes FOREVER. The app both on iPhone and laptop keeps crashing, playing the video randomly, not reactive and not saving your progress! If it actually worked as it should, this app would be amazing. ✓ I just tired of subscriptionsTo get the teleprompter without watermark starts at $90 per year. If you want longer videos, you're up to $140 per year. Yes, there are lots of other features but if you just want the teleprompter, you're stuck in a subscription. I'm tired of subscriptions. Why do I have to buy video landing pages just to get a good teleprompter? I don't even have a green screen or intend to use on. I don't need my captions emphasized. Why do I have to pay more for longer videos? What additional costs is BigVU incurring by me uploading a longer script and reading it off my phone and storing the longer video locally? I just cannot wrap my head around why every app has to be a subscription and insists on budling everything so the one feature you come for is locked in a package with things you don't need..Version: 2.4.9
✓ Great but LimitedYou should be able to let the camera run while you do several takes without having to stop the camera and start completely over. You can not use your finger to scroll back up to a certain part of your copy where you screwed up. You have to start completely over. And you can start a new take from a certain part of your copy. It always starts from the beginning! My video is 9 minutes long and it’s very frustrating. But overall great quality. But this issue almost makes this app useless for me in my case unfortunately..Version: 0.6.0
✓ Excellent video making but will not let me add my business detailsSigned up for this app and while it is brilliant at making the videos, I signed up for a year’s membership but every time I add my logo and business card and press save the video, it keeps taking you to the sign up membership page, then states your already a member, but will not allow you to proceed..... so annoying otherwise it would be perfect.Version: 1.6.0
✓ Sure it’s fine but...Would love to use this.... but I didn’t get past the outrageous cost. I can’t possibly sign up to an £8.99 monthly fee to use this once or twice a year. Which is what I’d be doing. I guess it’s made for people who vlog scripts for a living - in which case it’s probably great. I would pay a one off fee for something like this. ✓ Not workingThis app was great initially when I started using it over a year ago. However now it has constant crashes while I’m using it I have to stop start over the screen just goes black it just shuts down this is ridiculous! Can’t seem to get a response from Big Vu on how to troubleshoot the problem. ✓ Great app, when it worksAfter loading a video and cropping, adding subtitles, etc. like I’ve done many times before it got stuck processing. No big deal it happens. And then it happened again. And again. And again. Contact customer service and they essentially go through the “is it plugged in and turned on?” type of troubleshooting. Yes, yes I did that, yep that too. No resolution. Following week, back to filming a video (let’s try it again) and the same thing happens! Back to customer support, back to the “is it plugged in” troubleshooting. Yep, did that (again). Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled. No it’s still not working. So, finally a glimmer of hope when I get a Zoom call scheduled with an expert to help me out. Only one problem, the guy ghosted me. ✓ Recorded from iPhone 11The teleprompter feature was nice, but what I was excited for was the captions. I figured that since I literally had already typed all my text into the app, (and it’s being synced with the video while recording) BigVu would be using that text. BUT NO, IT APPEARS TO BE USING SOME SORT OF VOICE TO TEXT SOFTWARE TO CREATE THE CAPTIONS. Which doesn’t seem very smart. I literally already typed in the text. But NOW I HAVE TO GO BACK THROUGH THE CAPTIONS AND CHANGE LIKE A MILLION MISTAKES THE VOICE-TO-TEXT MADE?? This makes literally ZERO SENSE. If this changed I would change my review. ALSO IT SEEMS TO BE RECORDING IN SD?? Why? This needs to be taking full advantage of the camera available. If not, it’s pretty useless..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Exposure is messed upI like the layout of this app, and that it times your script for you when you write it. I’m trying to make 1-minute long videos exactly, so it’s incredibly Helpful. That being said, I HATE the auto exposure feature. I constantly have to re-record my video because the apps camera doesn’t automatically adjust to my exposure when I use my ring like, and either makes the shot way to dark or way too overexposed. I’ve fidgeted with the auto exposure lock switch, but it rarely helps. If that feature could be fixed I would rate this app 5 stars and use it for everything. ✓ Functionality is great until your audio stops halfway through...I love the functionality of this app and how easy it is to navigate. However, there are some MAJOR issues that I’ve outlined below: 1. The audio will randomly cut off halfway through filming. I use a wireless mic that has a receiver which connects to the iPhone via lightning port. No other teleprompter app has this issue with my equipment. 2. There was even a couple of times where the audio worked fine but then the video was nothing but a black screen...it seemed like most of the takes I did had either an audio issue or a video issue 3. The auto lock exposure functionality doesn’t work well at all. The exposure was all over the place and the tones of my video were adjusting like crazy all throughout the recording. 4. I signed up for their one month free offer hoping that I could then take advantage of the 50% for a one year payment. Once I selected the one month free option, it will not let me cancel that and use the 50% off annual option. So I asked support to help me and literally TAKE MY MONEY for an entire year but they said it would take like 2 days to get back to me and I have yet to hear back...but now that I found the bugs listed above, I wouldn’t pay for even one month of this app. I wanted this app to be good for so many reasons but these are deal breakers for me..Version: 1.4.1
✓ Cannot add CaptionsThe app cannot produce a preview and just crashes. Last time I tried to put captions on a 3 minute video and had to start over at least 10 times because it couldn’t save. ✓ Nice AppIt’s a nice app. I use it on my IPad. Audio is not prime. I always have to send to IMovie to raise the volume. Should have options how the promoter should display words on the screen opposed to being off to the side and size of the words should have options. Every one is different and reads different so it shouldn’t be limited in options for reader. Not worth mthly subscription like Pandora. A one time fee, which may get you more customers. Otherwise you’ll have more people canceling sub after use and you’ll be loosing revenue..Version: 0.4.20

✓ First App review everAs far as an App and what it does. I tried it for a few days. It’s excellent. I set an alarm to remind me to decide to use it or cancel because I know it’s easy to forget. (And End up subscribing to another app you forget you’re paying for). I went to cancel the subscription because although it was great, $49 a month right now isn’t worth it for me personally. (Again it’s. A great app). When I checked, it had me subscribed for 6 months at $49. I immediately contacted their Instagram (they got back to me very fast) which told me I had to contact Apple. Apple did refund me. But my issue is it’s so easy to forget and you definitely shouldn’t be locked in for 6 months. In conclusion the app is good. And prob worth the money for someone who needs it but from a general business practice it could use a little refinement. Hope this is helpful to all parties..Version: 2.4.8
✓ Great features when I can use itI loved the features of this app for my first project. When I went back to use it again for another video, the app repeatedly crashed. I checked for updates on the app and my phone and the problem persisted. After multiple attempts that tripled the time I needed to do the project, I was able to capture the videos. I spent hours yesterday trying to access the app and was unable to access any content due to repeated crashes, even turning my phone on and off multiple times. I could not login with my email account on my IPhone. Using their chat on the site, I waited several hours for a human response. I tried for 2 days and nothing accept an email saying to many conversations were going and they would send a follow up message. ✓ One concernI absolutely love this app. But my only complaint is that it will not automatically save your updates to script. When the app closes it automatically erases everything you typed if you don’t hit the save button. If you could update that feature this would deserve 4stars in my opinion. ✓ Video File Inaccessible - Unable to upload video after recording for 11 minutesAfter recording for just 11 minutes this app refused to allow me access to my video. It prompted an error stating that the video file was over 1 GB which is too large for its servers. I couldn’t even save it locally as there was no option. What exactly am I paying for then? As if that wasn’t enough, for iOS users there is no way to pause the scrolling text. ✓ Minor issues with app after a few usesSo, I noticed after a week of using this app that the teleprompter speed does not keep the same momentum through out my speech. For example I will choose 160 WPM or 170 and at random it slows down or speeds up. Next, I wish that it could connect to Instagram more effectively then the just social links. When I do that Instagram for some reason isn’t compatible. Lastly, once I upload a video longer than 1 min, it won’t allow me to share it any where else so it’s kinda defeating the whole purpose of helping me talk to my viewers without cutting up scenes looking choppy. ✓ Great idea, poor resultsApp has a lot of functions, effects and makes the process of filming while reading easier and more realistic. The big downside to this app is when processing and exporting the final result. The video consistently skips frames and looks terrible. Without effects, the video quality itself is also not great once processed through the app and still skips frames. I have recorded on both video quality settings available and cannot make sense of this. Also, the paid version does not remove the BIGVU watermark and is another highly disappointing result given the purpose of my use case. A way to go yet in making this app enjoyable for the end user. ✓ Incredible concept but...This app has a lot going for it. It’s easy to use and when you’re at the right distance it really looks like your looking directly into the camera the way you would with a traditional teleprompter. My biggest issue is with the iPad version (I’m using iPad Pro 11” 2018). It always starts in portrait mode, even when the iPad is in landscape. This is seriously problematic when the iPad is on a tripod as you have to physically tip the iPad all the way to portrait and back to landscape between every take. Also, when switching between apps the BIGVU app always has to reload which is annoying. If you use a green screen you have to add the background video or image immediately and once you’ve applied one to a take, you’re stuck with it, making that take useless if you decide you want to use a different background. Once a green screen background is applied the video becomes very pixelated to the point of looking low quality... even with excellent lighting and a perfectly flat screen. Not sure how to fix that issue. Like I said, the app is great. If not for these issues it would get 5 stars from me but these things make it almost unusable for my purposes..Version: 0.5.2

Upon exporting the video to my camera roll of saving to the cloud the voice doesn’t properly sunk with the videos and it looks completely off. Customer support is just as on brand - a chat message takes 10 mins to get a reply. l and there is so resolution to the concern. I really really love their tenacity: although I have unsubscribed a handful of times, they won’t take no for an answer! ✓ Good teleprompter but lacking video adjustmentsI like the program, but I see no way of adjusting the video resolution other than 720, 1080, or 4K. Not only do you have to pay more for 4K even if you have no plans to store on their servers, but you can’t change the frame rate. So the lights in my office flicker. They don’t if I film 24 fps, but you don’t get that option, despite apple giving it to you in their camera app. I canceled the subscription due to this. ✓ Green screen a bit dodgyI’ve tried a few teleprompter apps to make short instruction videos for clients, and I was especially intrigued by the green screen option on BIGVU because I thought it would give me more flexibility. It does work, and the effects are ok, but the quality of the video is quite poor. I think the green screen would maybe work ok for still photography, but for video it isn’t quite there yet. Given this, I’d say that there are better teleprompter apps out there that deliver better quality video for considerably less money..Version: 0.5.2
✓ BIG UV Teleprompter - If it would just work on Iphone 11I don’t understand why there’s certian bugs that make it unusable for a polished professional video. There’s like one part of the app that seems really beneficial and that’s adding the quotations and text on screen and for some reason there’s just glitches in segments that just don’t allow it to work properly- it works for like half the video and then suddenly you can’t add or fix quotations in individual segments, it crashes and I have to repeat the process over again. One particularly frustrating thing is that it’s a 60 dollar subscription by far one of the most expensive on the market- and I rationalized the purchase as a must have for my industry wants. There is one part that is late in the video where no matter what you type the time segment reader or however they manage individual segments to be picked up by the application, divides one section to be much longer and the words freeze on screen for a few minutes no matter how many times I try to fix this it’s just not fixable. It’s otherwise an app with amazing potential. I may come back to edit this but I even just updated the app thinking that would help but it didn’t it’s the same issue..Version: 2.4.9

✓ Literally so frustratingEverything was going good until I tried to save the video I recorded. Although it said I could put it in drop box and email it it in fact wouldn’t work. That’s an hour of my time gone. I really needed this to work for a school project and now I can’t submit it because It won’t let me download it. ✓ One major drawback!I would give this raving 5 stars for all the features it has and how easy it is to use, if it wasn’t for how slow it is to update your changes and edits! I have 5G high speed internet and it took 3 hours to edit and upload a 1:29 second promo, due to the lag in uploading videos to use in the composer. I even tried different internet browsers to see if Chrome or Edge was the culprit. I don’t have endless time to come back to my screen and check on the status of updates. ✓ Disappointing - freezes - not workingGreat idea in theory- doesn’t translate to real life use. App installed on newish iPhone X with up to date software. ✓ Expected betterI find this really hard to use. The video kept automatically ending before I had finished recording, the captions are really inaccurate and editing of these is not at all intuitive or easy. In fact I still haven’t figured it out. ✓ Video sharing bugs are frustrating1. Difficult to share the recorded video... either the cloud upload provides a link to an entire project, or the upload of a 2 minute video to a file share service times out over wi-fi, or a post to a Facebook group states as successful yet never shows up on the group. 2. Scroll timing is inconsistent/ not smooth and at times jumps or slows while reading a script. There are some elements I do like, such as response from support, and now that I’ve figured out the non-intuitive interface it’s easier to use — but I think the file sharing issues and lack of video download capability will be a deal-breaker for me soon..Version: 1.0.5

✓ Make sure you save your scripts!!So far I really like the app. It’s user friendly and has what I need at this point. But my one really huge disappointment is that the scripts don’t save unless you do it manually. Perhaps an upgrade for the next rendition? Auto save? I had just finished my first script which was quite long and got side tracked by my children. The app was still open, I didn’t close it out. When I can back to it, all my hard work was gone. 😢 I have such limited time to write scripts as I’m juggling my kids, my business and all the things. ✓ Good Concept, too much troubleI have never a give low rating, but since I bought this based on the ratings, I thought I should. This app is actually quite impressive at first. It’s got everything you could ever need, and could provide seem less video, but I cannot get it to upload from my phone to anywhere else (changes or no changes). I have tried 2 videos one was a 3 minute video, and another was a 6. Either way it took hours (and I have fast internet) to upload from the app (and heaven forbid you do anything else on your phone because if you do, you start alllll over), and then cuts off in the end. Each time it does this, I have to start over. From the computer, it does take a while, but it works better. Unfortunately my computer webcam is not great. From the app, I’ve had nothing but issues with getting it to go anywhere (with or without changes) off of the phone..Version: 1.5.2

✓ Captions are horrid to editThis app has so much potential but the only real reason I got it was for the captions. The idea is there but editing captions is horrid. ✓ Basic and easy to use, but one HUGE ISSUEGuys i have a lot of good to say about this app. It works well and easy. Everything functions the way it should. User friendly, customizable, integrating easily into other applications The huge issue? If for ANY reason, your phone locks, if you have to leave the app to reference or look up something, there is ZERO ability for the app to stay open! I have lost multiple projects, simply by getting wrapped up in writing, needing to refernece outside the app, then going back to the app to watch the whole application start up again and all my work was lost. The only save option is a manual save button that takes a long conscious press. This has to be fixed NOW. Such a good quality app. Even the customer service team is polite, fast to respond, and diligent. But this issue is a daunting one. Pls BigVu. Sort this out asap.Version: 1.0.7
✓ App issuesIt seems to me it’d be an easy update to allow the script to be in the center of the screen so it doesn’t look like you’re looking slightly off camera, but that isn’t an option with this app. I also constantly have to restart my phone in order to make the app work properly. ✓ Disappointed ImmediatelyI was so excited at first to download this app. Then I saw even if I paid such a really overpriced amount to subscribe for only SIX months, the highest thing it unlocks is just under an hour.
