✓ Wonderful App, indispensable!I had been getting help on the excellent Audiobus forum for a while, not realising there was also an App of the same name, DOH! I am just beginning to explore its powers and it’s blowing me away. Not only does it receive, process and output MIDI and Audio, but many other things as well. The Midi-learn is superb btw. A super discovery was its ability to run StreamByter scripts in order to do the impossible with all things MIDI. I am now able to play my acoustic guitar into my iPhone and: 1. Get its audio processed with an amp simulator, along with reverb and cabinet selection etc, etc, 2. Get the audio converted to Midi; both by Midi Guitar 2, 3. Which then sends the Midi to AudioKit’s super Synth One. 4. In addition I run a drum machine, AudioKit’s AR-909, inside AudioBus3. 5. All of these are controlled by the amazing wireless Bluetooth pedal “BlueBoard” from IK Multimedia, using only 4 foot buttons and one external sustain pedal. (There is a spare pedal socket btw) I’m a veritable one man band, and this is all possible with the help of AUDIOBUS3. Thank you!.Version: 3.4.33

✓ On a good dayVery useful, if you ever use more that one app simultaneously , a hub for (most) of your music apps. Virtual mixer that is midi mappable. Route apps, and control everything in one place, all in sync, mapped to your hardware, volume, parameters, Ableton link, midi clock. On a good day However, always a bit unstable and prone to odd crash. But that is usually because of flaky apps that aren’t compatible or processing power. My main main purpose for getting Audiobus is that I need to route AUDIO to multiple BUSses. The manual says the app makes it possible for you to do this. However, after purchasing this, the only options are to route to L/R (or Out 1/Out 2). The app is not necessary to be able to do this. What I need is an app that will route audio from my iPad to multiple busses on a DAW on my computer. Audiobus is a really a virtual mixer that allows you to route audio from a handful of audio apps to one mixer and/or to other apps. Output is limited, but it can be resolved with the purchase of a physical audio interface to connect directly to your iOS device. This, in turn, eliminates the need for the app in particular live performance settings. To be fair, the app seems like it would do great if I actually used the apps that it is compatible with... which really is quite a few. I originally gave this a 1=star rating, but decided it wasn’t a fair rating just because it doesn’t do what I needed it to do. However, the app does seem to be good at its current design. ✓ Couldn’t be without it.Running AUv3 plugins are great in Audiobus, unlike a lot of apps running plugins, Audiobus gives the plugin loads of screen space making complex plugins much less fiddly to use. Also has midi clock support so takes the hardware world outside iOS seriously and makes hardware play nice with iOS and all the great apps and AUv3 plugins. In the case of the MicPortPro, AudioBus lets me select left channel, right channel, both, or any combination. Accidentally selected both left and right, plus right, resulting in higher levels (actually sounded better). No other app I’ve seen gives you this kind of control. After you select your input, you can add plug ins and Route the audio out to the app of your choice ( in my case Twisted Wave). Indispensable. And version 3.1 takes it even a step further with the great new workflow improvements. I started out with Audiobus years ago but at some point when AUM got released I moved away from Audiobus. However with version 3.1.1 and the improved and very solid support for Audio Units it has drawn me back into the Audiobus camp and feels like returning home. ✓ Not perfect but great.Once I figured it out, it was what I was looking for without knowing it. I like certain sims and other fx sims. I can pull an IR, a drive from Bias, an amp from THu, stand-alone mod n time, and keep up with my CPU. Amazing what even an old iPhone can pull off CPU wise. I wanted to measure real-time LUFS loudness using Youlean Loudness Meter. Audiobus will let you turn the app in to a hovering window, by clicking the 3 dots at the top and press the slide over icon. ✓ Very, very good app… Except for one thingThis app is very, very good, except for one small problem. As a voiceover user, I cannot access the mixer controls. Voiceover, which is a screen reader built into all iOS devices, tells me that the mixer tab is dimmed or grade out. This makes it impossible for me to actually access these controls, which means that as a mobile Internet broadcaster, my levels are always at the highest end of the scale and in danger of clipping. If we can get this fixed in the next Version, I would be very, very grateful. Aside from that, I’m very happy with the functionality of this up. Great work guys!.Version: 3.1.3
✓ Audiobus mixer doesn't work well with voiceoverThe app works really well, I use it to make recordings with different effects. There seems to be a problem with the mixer, I can double tap on the mixer with VoiceOver, but I can't adjust the levels. Can you please fix this? AB3 has come in useful many times for various reasons for me - at the present I’m just getting into using it in split-screen mode with Koala sampler (a lot of fun to be had). There is overlap with some other apps and if you’re only looking for one, you could consider other competitors like AUM or ApeMatrix, but I have got more than my money’s worth from AB3 even though I use AUM more frequently. ✓ Using Audiobus in a live situation.Using an Ipad and a backing track player I am using Audiobus with a number of plug ins along with a URC22 interface to entertain. This is a great help. No mixer required plus access to any number of vocal effects. I can access the mixer simply by sliding with four fingers to show on screen. The developer reached out to me personally and told me where to go for assistance with support issues, and assured me that they would help me resolve it as quickly as possible.
