✓ RubbishNever worked properly from the get go doesn’t do anything different from Carista as it won’t connect to half the modules, to top it off just updated it & now won’t even connect, not even worth one star but have to put down one to leave a review, definitely won’t be renewing the annual subscription 👎🏻.Version: 4.1

You have to by the full version of BimmerCode if you change battery(different Ah) then buy the BimmerLink app to register it. ✓ Good but missing a fundamental feature for my carSo the apps good and easy to use however it’s missing a fundamental feature for my car, changing the brightness of the Angel Eyes. This option is available but I’ve been told by the developer that the app doesn’t currently support my type of car and there are plans to implement just not yet - that was a couple months ago. (BTW I’ve got a new 2 series with iDrive 7 and the latest ECU software) I do look forward to this feature if it ever does arrive. Apart from that, the rest of its good..Version: 2.10
✓ ICloud Backups would be a good ideaIf the app is deleted you lose all backups, you should really be able to backup the data on iCloud. Also when I try to raise a support ticket it says there no email linked to my device but there’s no where to add it. Other than that the app is quite good from the limited amount of use so far. ✓ Good app. Reset the tune on car.The app worked well and did what I wanted. However, I lost and ECU remap tune I had on my BMW 120d. I contacted the developer (Stephen) who told me this was impossible. Trust me when I say this, you notice the lack of 50hp and 100nm of torque. The developer was unwilling to help even though I was quite open to them contacting me to try and resolve the issue. The issue lies with how the app resets the ECU when it codes. Best avoided if you have a mapped car. Stephen, if you want to help, send me an email with some helpful info and we can progress with diagnosing the issue. Simply stating that it’s impossible to affect the tune doesn’t help anyone..Version: 2.19

✓ DisappointingI bought the app and the adaptor but doesn’t work you can’t change nothing. I used on 6 series and I try to change active sound and nothing. I try to change performance logo and the app have only 5 seria logo and x6. I do not recommend, most of the things are not available for coding,when I check thei said it’s compatible but looks like isn’t working at all .Waist money . ✓ Bitterly disappointedI bought this initially to turn off the seatbelt alarms as I always reverse onto my property and therefore take my seat belt off. I also cancelled the Auto Stop|Start but I knew by buying it, with the recommended OBDLink, there was lots more I could do, so I followed a Youtuber who also has a MINI Cooper S and I wrote down each step of all the favourite things I wanted to do, knowing my phone would be running this app. Firstly I put in my OBD and loaded the app and it did an update, I didn't mind as it's been many months since I bought it but then I opened the app to see it didn't look like the YouTuber Ben Rolfe's did. Most importantly it didn't have the Active sound design which I really wanted. I am not a fan of fake sound but if I must have it, then I'd rather have the sound of a JCW than a Cooper S. I can understand everything not being available for all cars but surely any F56 with fake noise can have it changed? My car is on lease so I can't change the exhaust but I am able to tweak things in the ECU. I am in two very active MINI owners clubs and others have asked how they can alter things such as the Active Sound design and so I haven't yet reported my findings to members as I know they won't bother buying the app if they can't get it. I hope you can resolve this matter. I tried to upload a photo of my screen so you can see what I have but can't. Please can you fix this so I can change the fake noise. ✓ Unable to purchase full version!Very bizarre….having bought the obd adapter, connecting to my car no problem. However for some strange reason the app will not let me purchase the full version! I bought via Apple Pay then confirmed in my banking app to then go back to bimmercode to find the buffering symbol and no purchase. I have tried many times but will not go through. ✓ Not as useful as it could beThe idea behind this app, and it’s a good one, is that changing options in your BMW should be push-button easy. The alternative until now has been to use a complex, cracked version of BMWs own software to make changes in the cars. Unfortunately, this app fails to deliver on that vision. For at least some of the the things it offers to change in my car series, the only way to undo them is to restore a backup of the ECU. This means that if you want to try combinations of settings you must use point-in-time backups to undo some settings while others are simply turned off in the app. IOW, there are two completely separate, unrelated user interaction styles in the app. That’s a problem for users who become responsible for figuring out which backup matches which state of the ECU. The developer is responsive in email but has indicated he has no plans to fix this in the near term. Until then, you should probably use E-Sys and avoid this app since at least the latter has exactly one user interface, albeit a complicated one. Otherwise you’d better take notes and screenshots of what you did when in the app..Version: 2.13

✓ Not connecting2014 BMW X1 (not 2015). I have Iphone with 11.3.1. I just reloaded bummer. I just restarted my phone. I have Bluetooth on. I have airplane mode on. No connections to Bluetooth including my tile app. No Wi-Fi on. Obd2 device is nee and works on other apps but I even deleted all other obd2 apps before reloading the bimmer app etc. put key fob on and pressed start button on bmw twice. Start up car diagnostic shows so car is ready. Put obd2 veepeak blue 4.0 in and blue light comes on obd2 device is on. Note that carplay is in USB setting and no Wi-Fi connection or Bluetooth connection to phone but veepeak shows up under 'other' category in Bluetooth screen on phone. When connecting bimmercode says press start button 3x but I press twice without break on. I've also tried to get connection by starting car before connecting the obdm. ✓ Perfect for coding my F80 ID4 audioPurchased to code base audio to Harman Kardon / Most digital output . Great product and straight forward to use Edit , added ID6 idrive unit. ✓ Waste of money and terrible productDid not connect regardless trying all the troubleshooting done as recommended. ✓ Keeps making me reconnectSo annoying while coding. One researchers while coding and reviewing notes. If you leave the app and come back it resets and forces you to reconnect sometimes. ✓ ENet Cable ProblemsGenerally the app has been working well. It’s been about 1 year since I’ve used the app to make some changes. I bought a new adapter to lightning connection as that is the fastest in the past. I do have the newest Veepeak Bluetooth controller but can’t enter expert mode to check for some coding changes. Quite user friendly with a backup option but simpler names for the categories would be ideal for new users and more backup options. Connectivity was quick with my Veepeak. ✓ Customer Service is TERRIBLE!I have been unable to use the app on my new iPhone. I paid for the full version and can use it on an iPad but not my iPhone. After several email messages and tech support sending the same “canned instructions” each time (of which I tried 3 times) support person told me to contact Apple. I contacted Apple and they said there was nothing they could do and they could not refund my money because it had been too long. ✓ Great, but hidden feeI took two stars away because there is a $40 fee to make the app useful that is not advertised until you actually try to use the app. Otherwise it is great. It makes basic coding super simple and even more advanced coding is easier than with the computer programs. ✓ Not as full featured for G80 as I expectedI am perfectly happy to have purchased this app for nothing other than disabling active sound design, which was very straightforward. However, I’ve found that most if not all of the other functions are already selectable within iDrive on the G80 (I have iDrive 8). In addition, there are no instrument cluster coding functions available (probably because I have iDrive 8), which is slightly disappointing. ✓ Need to use expert modeThe easy mode does not offer many options, so I had to use expert mode to come my f25. For example, I have changed my front and rear globes to led, error free options can be simply coded from the FRM module, however these options cannot be found from easy settings, and it’s very time consuming to find relevant entries to code the led. ✓ Pretty goodIt can do a few basic things well, like tweak the number of indicator flashes, default start mode etc. I’ve tweaked a bunch of things, so think it’s worth the money. However, still massive room for improvement. 1. Why not have a basic auto translate on the expert mode? All the strings have words separated by _ so could easily get something working. Saves google translating all the time. 2. Could do with some more advanced functions. People can do all sorts with ESYS that this doesn’t even remotely come close to. 3. Enable more ‘supported functions’. It seems like newer models have way less options available compared to older models..Version: 4.2
✓ Buyer’s remorseDespite buying one of the recommended adapters (Veepeak OBD), too often I see the error message “this control unit is not accessible with the used OBD adapter”. Even when it does work, one of options I wanted to benefit from (full screen CarPlay) is not available for my car’s firmware. And the other (coding different sound profiles) is completely absent from the menu. So, acknowledging that the available coding options will be limited to what is available in the vehicle, there is nothing useful to me here. Sure I can adjust my headlight brightness and turn off useful features such as climate control memory but, honestly, other than the thrill of being able to change things that would otherwise be locked down in the car’s firmware, there is nothing of practical benefit to me, unless perhaps I buy another OBD adapter but which one?.Version: 4.3
