✓ Must have!!I’ve looked at this game a few times and thought, “nah, no colour, no real story, no fun..” I was SO WRONG!!! It’s fab. I’ve just finished and I can’t wait till I’ve forgotten to do it all again. I don’t normally spend over £2 on a App Store game unless it’s a sure thing, I’m so pleased I branched our with this!! Each ‘thing’ you are trying to find has its own clue, it’s own little story within the picture, it can drive you mad but in a good way! It isn’t just a picture, it’s also very interactive, doors open, rocks slide, rabbits run out of holes. I’ve lost hours of my life.... but I found hidden folks. Marvellous. Oh yeah, play with sound on too!!!! Edit: this is now the third time I have finished it! ✓ Seriously - pay these guys for their workThis game is so fun. I usually like point and click adventure games with puzzles - I found this as I was looking for ideas for games for anxiety and stress - something not difficult but challenging enough to distract my mind for a bit. I loved it so much and will leave it for a while and probably play again. You can just tell the amount of time that has gone into the artwork, format, sounds, coding on all the different objects that react when you touch them. It’s a work of art. I don’t get people expecting quality games for free - you don’t work for free so why should developers… if you don’t want to pay, don’t pay - go find something of lesser quality with tonnes of ads. ✓ Fantastic little game!If you have no idea what this game is about, think ‘where’s wally’ but on a more interactive scale. The animation suits the theme of the game perfectly, sure it’s not a HD CGI scene or anything like that, but it’s just perfect for the game. The Sounds are brilliant....my only complaint, is the game is currently not very long. However with that being said, they seem to be adding more and more levels, so who knows by the time you purchase this app (and you must purchase it imo), it may be much longer. 9.5 out of 10! In future updates if you could add more sounds, more stages, more themes, maybe even a set of stages in colour (but that is not a must as the black / white theme is pretty cool)..Version: 1.3.5

✓ Amazing but a possible bug?I love this game so much and it's very cute and quirky. But one thing I'm stuck on is at the beach part 3 when you have to get the folk to his boat I can't seem to get him to swim when he jumps into the water. ✓ Well balanced challengeI rarely pay for game apps (and even more rare that I take time to write a review) but this one was worth it! It was challenging enough to keep me interested but not so hard that I gave up all together. Besides the obvious amazing artwork, I liked that once I found most on a page, I had the option of staying or moving forward. Sometimes I needed a break when I couldn’t find that last thing and being able to move on and come back to it was helpful. I also liked that it wasn’t just hidden in plain view. It has a high level of creativity embedded in hints and in user interaction that sometimes requires you move or plug in items to find what was being sought. ✓ Pleasant Fun Game to RelaxHidden folks is a very cute aesthetically pleasing game to play when you need a break. The black and white hand drawn aesthetic and fun yet simple sound effects make it an overall nice game to play. Clues lead you through different landscapes to find items and people. Where is Mai? Onno wishes he paid more attention during his tai chi classes. Tortoise Rafaelo dries in the sun. Cut down bushes, open up tents, dig holes, or just look around and the magic of this game will surround you. This is a calming puzzle game that I would highly recommend. ✓ DeliversIt delivers what it says it will but maybe it’s not my kind of thing. It’s calm, that’s for sure, but that’s ok. Persistance, sure. I can do that; I can locate 216 countries on the globe (tiny islands can be time consuming) and can identify their flags as well as states, provinces, micro-nations (you know, like Sealand)... I can listen to other stuff while doing this, right? I dunno... I get obsessed with finding that LAST critter or person and it makes me crazy. Maybe I need a momentary hint; a glow, a flash of color, a ghost-like apparition to appear over the darned thing because I can spend as long on the last SINGLE item as on everything else in the region combined and it makes me want to close up the app and go learn Esperanto instead. However the initial purchase wasn’t exactly cheap seeing as there were only 5 levels, I finished the game in a day. Charging an additional £2 for an extra level is asking a bit much. ✓ Artists have to eat, yes?I understand that some are up in arms about having to pay for the new Beach areas. The reality is that artists working for a year on new content have to be able to make a living. Once a game starts to saturate its market, new content can only come from additional payments for add-ons. If it really bugs you to throw them a little change every now and then, perhaps you could imagine that the designers instead just made Hidden Folks 2, 3, 4, etc. You're happy to buy new games from the same talented team, yes? Hidden Folks is practically a better-drawn, moving picture, adorable, funny, and entertaining version of a much more expensive Where’s Waldo book. You get so much content in this little app and it provides hours of searching and fun. My only suggestion would be to add more levels, as I go through them fairly quickly and would love a new area to explore! ✓ Fun casual game, but too tiny for elderlyI purchased this for my mother and father to play on their iPad as they aren’t really gamers, but the list of items to find and the text for the clues is so tiny that they aren’t able to easily see or read. Consequentially, they tried playing but just found it too hard to do because of this. It really would help if the options had something to scale things up a little for those who can’t read small text easily. *** I received a developer response saying that there are 3 interface sizes in the settings. However, THERE ARE NOT 🙁. There are 3 interface positions. The interface DOES NOT change size at all, it just appears on the left, bottom, or right. The original game, alone, has a lot of content and the clever design, replay is as enjoyable as the first time through. Many games aren’t geared for replay and additional content is packaged and sold as a new game “part ll”. This last update with minimal fee is well deserved, it’s one of the few games I’ve purchased and truly feel it’s a keeper. ✓ Amazing!! I love this game.I loved this game. It’s kind of like a hidden object game but actually good! In particular I like that this one doesn’t take itself too seriously. The drawings are charming and every button pushes, every door opens with a satisfying sound. Some of the ones near the end have a puzzle quality to them (but not too hard) and the factories are so enjoyable to make the machines move, and as part of the solution so they are actually functional. ✓ Refreshing take on hidden object puzzles!This is definitely challenging but still so enjoyable to play! Love the added element of interactivity to open doors, dig in snow piles, pressing buttons and shifting objects in order to unearth & find the object you are looking for. I enjoy just opening & tapping on things just to discover what all can be manipulated. The clues, scenes & sounds are so creative, clever & humorous. One thing I feel that would totally sky rocket this game to the another level and that I would absolutely LOVE to see would be the ability for players to create their own custom list of hidden objects (with customized clues) to find and then challenge other players to find them. The custom challenges could be made by forwarding to friends or by being accessed by anyone on a server. Those custom challenges could even be rated by other players. Filters & ability for players to flag could be used to ensure inappropriate language is not used in the clues. I think this would vastly increase the exposure, playability & revenue for this game. Revenue could be a 1 time fee to unlock the feature, or monetize by playing an ad in order to be able to play a new custom challenge. There is just so much interesting objects & folks to look at & explore and I often find myself thinking “that object should so be on the list” Thank you for creating such an awesome and refreshing unique game! ✓ Fantastic.I really like this game. The clues to each character or object make you think and are great hints. I wish there were at least one additional hint per level. I spent the forever looking for a chicken. I knew what I was looking for and how it was hidden and just could not see it. This almost made me give up, but it was the last thing needed for the game. Also, it would be nice if everything I opened or cut down, etc. stayed that way when I leave and come back. Honestly, the only other thing I would change is the sound effects. However, in either version, you will need to zoom in from the broad perspective to see the small items on your list. I actually got it for pc over a year ago, and loved it so much that when I got an iPad I re-purchased it in order to play it all again but on a fancy touch screen this time :) Each area has a starting level to teach you the mechanics of the following pages by just clicking around the small area and seeing what happens. ✓ Perfect GameI’ve been playing this game for a while now and in short, I’ve loved every second. Hidden Folks has some similarities with Where’s Wally, but with so many improvements. Firstly, the picture is alive. All of the animals, people, and whatever else there is moves. This makes the whole thing much more interesting and immersive. Secondly, you can interact with the picture. You can tap a bush, and the leaves will part, sometimes to reveal something. If you tap a crocodile, it snaps. You can tap virtually anything and it will move, fly away, disappear, or something else. Then there is the sound, which just adds the final layer of brilliance. The only downgrade from Where’s Wally is that there is no colour but I personally don’t mind this at all. If anything, it makes it better. To add to all of this, it’s a game that I see myself playing in a year’s time. Unlike lots of other games, this will never make you bored as there are practically endless locations and objects for you to find. In all, Hidden Folks is a brilliant game which, when combined with the fact that the pictures are hand-drawn, is an amazing feat by the developers. The clues will have you puzzling away and the unexpected, ridiculous mini scenes that reveal themselves will make you laugh out loud. I very much appreciated that the hidden details mean it doesn’t feel formulaic, but also that the act of exploring and hunting is soothing - I could play this game to relax in the evening and then fall asleep thinking about the silly scenes, rather than feeling wired as you do after playing so many games. ✓ Love this game!I play a lot of hidden object games. I love this one as a straight up hidden object game but with a fun twist. All the images look hand drawn, and the noises when you tap on the characters or birds are made by a person. I really like that there's no time limit and that if you get stuck, find a few things and you can move on, then come back later to finish a scene. I do wish you could zoom in more, some of the objects are tiny tiny and difficult to see. I hope they come out with more levels soon! ✓ Finally a game that keeps my interest!I love puzzles and hidden object games but have been bored playing the same type over and over. I wasn’t sure what I was getting when I bought this as I didn’t read through everything, but the artwork looked really interesting. As soon as I started playing I realised how much I loved it! It’s a brilliant challenge to find everything, meaning it’s difficult at times but so rewarding when you’ve found the object. The clues are clever and often after I’ve found that one item that’s taken me forever, I’ve realised how easy it could have been if I’d interpreted the clues properly. Some of the clues and people you have to find are pretty hilarious at times. I also love the bits where you have to move things, press buttons, lift levers to actually get what you were looking for, brain training in a way! You can see how much effort was put into making the game and I appreciated every single scene. I bought it yesterday and have finished it today after paying for the extra scene. It may sound like it doesn’t last you very long but it was actually several hours per day of playing, that’s how addictive it was. Plus my sister started it after I did and I didn’t want to let her overtake me! I bet it must have taken a while to draw all of the levels, which is why I understand that their aren’t that many levels. My sister and I throughly enjoyed finding all of the humorous characters and critters, hiding behind posters and bushes, skiing down snowy mountains. ✓ Interactive riddling searching fun, love it!So much more than Waldo, this game gives riddling clues for where to search for each person or object on a level. It’s not a easy as it seems, though, because so much of the world is interactive and you need to figure out how to manipulate the world and people and creatures in it to be able to find everyone and everything on the list. Some worlds are quick jaunts, while others are massive landscapers, either barren or jam packed. ✓ Lovely GameThis is a beautiful hidden pictures game! The level of care and detail that went into making it really shows - from the bananas and pigs, to all of the sounds and motion. The scenes start small then get bigger and even more fun to explore. After finding everything there is to find and plenty of exploring, I do find myself wishing there were more things I was supposed find (this isn’t a complaint, I just like it that much)! Hidden Folks is just a relaxing game. There is no score or timer of any kind, no countdown or count up, no rankings, the music isn’t frantic or hurried and the sound and music can be muted. It’s full of wonderful tiny surprises that regularly distract me from finding the things you are supposed to be finding ... mostly because I want those cute alligators (or are they crocodiles?) to open their mouths and make sounds again and again. I was attracted to the unique visuals, and I guess that blurred my judgement a bit, but that’s my fault alone and I do not regret supporting this developer. ✓ Two ways to play thisWhat a find. I quickly discovered that there are two ways to play this game. You could scroll round the screen blindly tapping everything until you ‘find’ something (not particularly satisfying and it gets tedious very quickly) OR you can read the hints above each item and treat this much more like a puzzle game. ✓ Insanely detailedA fantastic version of "Where's Wally?", the puzzle is presented in black and white, like a pencil sketch. You have to find certain items, make it possible for people to get from A to B, progressing from one level to the next. Lots of Easter Eggs pop up, but are not part of the puzzle per set. Each level gets bigger than the previous, leading to searches taking place on a vast scale. Good for keeping the brain occupied and instructing you in the venerable paths of patience!.Version: 1.6.4

✓ Played at MoPop in SeattleI just got back from a trip in Seattle where I went to the museum of pop culture (MoPop). There was a video game exhibit with a bunch of Indie games and this was there. The detail is remarkable and the amusing sounds also add to the enjoyment. The details are very small, but you can make the scenes a bit bigger on an iPad - the key thing is to pay attention to the clues so you know roughly where to look. The adorable black and white world includes many settings (city, desert, jungle, campground, etc), detailed drawings, animated objects, and interactive controls (you open windows, cut down grass, look inside of logs and rabbit holes, and more). There is no clock or time limit and you can take as long as you want to complete a level. There are no ads, and nothing to distract you while you play. It’s a relaxing game, and even though it’s challenging, it’s not so hard that you get frustrated. ✓ More than finding people and thingsI bought the game as a distraction during free time and it is. The jungle, alpine, city, and industrial landscapes, among others are simply displayed yet complexly designed, layered, and laid out as you move up through the levels. There is humor designed into the scenery and the characters. The designers teach you tips and tricks for getting through the various levels if you’re paying attention. May I suggest a scroll bar for moving through the various characters that we must find. This can become tedious on a phone when there are 12 or more items. Also, I appreciate that the game remembers where I am in the level from one device to another. It would also be great if the game would remember if I had already opened something (like a tent, window, or a crate) in that scene on one device and keep it open on my other devices.
