✓ FrustratingThe idea of the app is great, however. It does not update call history for iPhones. Pictures sent in text messages do not load. It makes it really difficult to make changes that I want to make to my daughters phone. And most frustrating of all is the data refresh. It does NOT update throughout the day. When I open the app it gives me the “you can start a new import in…” but after the time is up it has not updated anything even when I know for a fact that my daughter has been sending and receiving text messages. Or if it starts an import and I have to exit the app but go back to it, it will start a new import all over (often 40 minutes instead of 20). It’s infuriating and I paid a lot of money for it to work so inconsistently..Version: 2.5.6

✓ Terribly expensive for what it offers.This app is extremely expensive for the limited experience it’s able to offer. Apple restrictions or not the app should be priced more appropriate. You’re basically giving them the child’s iCloud account and all you’re able to do is get much delayed information on texts and web browsing. Quite simply, Apple allows restrictions on the phone itself with screen time for free. If you don’t want them downloading mature content, block it from within the phone. The only beneficial thing I see here are the ability to read texts and browsing history but if the child is able to download other texting apps, you will not see the conversation history. ✓ SCAM!!THIS APP DOES NOT WORK AND THEY WON’T REFUND YOUI downloaded this app a couple months ago and the service. Ever worked completely. The first week, I noticed that only about 40-50% of the messages on the other persons phone were being sent to my phone. I made sure that everything was installed correctly and that there weren’t any issues on my end. I thought that I should give it another week. After the second week, I realized that nothing was changing. I received maybe 40% of the text messages and same with the phone calls. When I reached out to SaferKid support to request a refund, the support team told me that I would have to go through Apple to get a refund and that they would not be able to issue one. When I tried to request a refund through Apple (the link SaferKid provided me) I was not able to request a refund for SaferKid, since the app itself is technically free. I ended up reporting the app as fraud, since this is the only option I was left with and since this app technically is a scam. You pay $200 for a service that doesn’t work, and when you wan’t a refund you’re provided with a fake, dead-end solution. 1 star is being generous..Version: 2.6.0
✓ Not even able to get started!I just spent an entire weekend staring at 2 brand new iPhones trying to set this app up. I would consider myself quite tech savvy, and I could not for the life of me get this set up. For $200 a year, there needs to be tutorial videos, details troubleshooting, and UP TO DATE instructions!! There is no “profile” option when you go to ‘settings>general’. Trust me, I’ve looked. I think they want the VPN section (at least that is what all the other parental control apps use) but there are still no details available once you get that section. Regardless, I would have loved to have tried to use this app for the free 7-day trial so I could have an educated opinion on the app, but after not being able to get through the setup the expectations of the app even working plummeted..Version: 2.5.6
✓ Not dependableI’m about to delete this off my phone and get something else. I have 2 kids and 2 phones. I put them both on a schedule. It works on the one phone but not the other phone. I have deleted the schedules on that one phone and reinstall the schedule in hopes that it will disable apps as scheduled. It still will not work. I give up. I have been trying to see if it will work for a few months now and still will not disable apps when requested. The schedules are listed there but still nothing. I’m so disappointed.Version: 2.5.6

✓ Somewhat helpful- will continue charging $199 after cancelingThis app is somewhat helpful, but nowadays kids are on snapchat, tiktok, etc to message people so it's only helpful to an extent. Iphone phone logs are not available and imessages do not show up either. I cancelled the subscription so it would not renew 6 months prior to it expiring... Received confirmation of the cancelation as well. After reading numerous complaints about people being charged $199 for another years subscription even after canceling, I opted to freeze my debit card two days before it expired in preparation for this. Saferkid has tried to debit this $199 charge four times and has now followed up with an email saying they need new card info today. ✓ Used to workI have been using Safer Kid for several months for all 3 of my children's devices. Until recently it worked fine. In the last few weeks the device will not always lock or unlock their devices, saying they are off line(even though they are clearly online). This has become very frustrating as it does this during normal schedules and when I am trying to take away or reward with more time. The kids will need to restart the phone several times and I need to unlock and lock again to get it to work. I paid for a year subscription, which I now really regret! Very frustrating and disappointed with this app, will probably just delete and stop using even though I am paid through September..Version: 2.5.6
✓ Never worked reliablyI researched monitoring apps and really tried to make this one work. However, after several months of paying more than $16 per month, I cancelled the subscription. Every single time I tried to use the app, my information was outdated, I needed to update some setting somewhere AGAIN, my child’s phone needed something adjusted or downloaded, etc. I even emailed customer service only to have them tell me to jump through the same hoops to avoid future issues. Which I did. Next time I logged in, SAME issues. Waste of money - the monthly charges were literally the only thing that was reliable about this app..Version: 2.3.7
✓ Installation is frustrating!Hate this app already wo it being used! It’s not made for iOS set up. It tells u to go to your child’s phone, enter the website and follow instructions to download. There’s no download. It basically tells u to go to their settings, go on profile and manage the app. Well, iOS does not have profile in settings and there’s no other way to download. I couldn’t get pass installation part. I jus wasted time and effort. I read other reviews that they too had issues downloading because it took days to download onto the device. ✓ It’s a great concept but...Maybe I’m not as technologically savvy as I thought I was? I have had the hardest time with this app. It only updates when your child’s phone backs up on the cloud. Meanwhile, trying to get his phone unlocked so I could give permission to the app to allow privileges I somehow managed to erase everything on his phone. And it’s 5 days behind on what the app is showing me vs. what is actually currently on his phone. Totally not worth the effort and money. At this point I’ll just have to trust my son. ✓ Works but a lot of maintenanceIt does show texts around 24 hours after installing however I have had to reset up my daughters phone twice since installing. ✓ This app cases a lot of distrust :(This app as well as life360 has caused so much problems in my families life. i’m a 15 year old girl, i don’t send nudes i’m not like that kinda kid, i never did anything wrong for my mother to track me with this app. but one day she put this, screentime, & life360 to my phone. all of it is just ridiculous. teenage years are supposed to be the best years of your life. these apps just invade your privacy like 100%. most people say “oh teens don’t need privacy” YES WE DO. everyone needs privacy and not just when you go to the bathroom. these apps ruin teen years. most of us kids aren’t gonna be like our parents and make mistakes like they did. i didn’t even get a chance to make mistakes, i more than likely wouldn’t have anyways. study shows that kids who made mistakes and learned from them have had a more successful life than kids who’s parents shoved rules down their throats and never even had a chance to learn a lesson. i just feel like these apps make kids feel like parents don’t trust us. we are kids, we are gonna make mistakes. we aren’t picture perfect paintings that never do anything wrong. let us live our lives and be teens..Version: 2.5.6
✓ Unreliable and inconsistent monitoringI really had high hopes this app was what I needed for safe monitoring and limits. unfortunately it was a waste of $200. It is very difficult and time consuming to set up, once that was finally accomplished I felt good about the updates and imports, however after a few months of monitoring I started to notice the import is inconsistent. It isn’t reliable many of the messages I send my sons don’t ever go through on the app, so I’m sure I’m missing much of the anticipated monitoring that I paid for. Most of the monitoring the app claims to be useful for, you can accomplish through iCloud and screen time limits through your phone. ✓ Not so discreet monitoringPart of parenting is being ahead of ball before it crushes you. This app isn’t very discreet. Your children will know you are monitoring their phones Therefore, for those of us whose children don’t carry a halo, it gives them a heads up when parents are on their trails. I installed this app last night thinking it’d be good to go soon after, that is not the case. You have to wait 12 hrs after installation to see a report and even now I can’t see it because I have to finish installation even though I thought I did it last night when I downloaded the app and applied the settings on my kid’s phone. I’m hoping to finish installation today and being able to fully review this app. Update: I finally got it installed after many tries but, now I’ll have to wait another 24 hrs for the SaferText to run a report. Final update: The install somehow did not work today and I was prompted to do it again today. It was just as frustrating as it was yesterday and now I’ll have to wait ANOTHER 24 hrs for SaferText. ✓ Do you not use. Stole money and customer service is non existentI’m pretty sure this is a scam. I emailed them twice because they don’t give you the option to call them and I didn’t get a response either time. There is problems with the app working the way it should and for that much money there shouldn’t be problems. The worst part is that it took literally days to be able to use after all the things you need to do (they tell you to check back in 12 hours ect) so your 7 day trial isn’t really 7 days. I cancelled it before the trial was over and they still changed me $199 and customer service doesn’t give you the option to contact then any other way other then an email they don’t return. ✓ Seems like a good idea but didn’t work for usThis app seemed like a good idea, so I downloaded the free trail. The set up is lengthy and complex if you aren’t tech-savvy. It requires you to have iCloud and the child’s phone be backed up daily on iCloud. My child’s phone said it could be backed up on iCloud. After a week of paying for more iCloud storage, trying to backup on the cloud, we had no success. Because we couldn’t get the phone to backup to iCloud, this app was useless and we cancelled. I also understand that if the child just turns off their iCloud backup or if the phone doesn’t back up for some reason, you’re not going to ever get the text activity. Again, useless! ✓ Charged me twiceThis app charged me twice. Apple saw the discrepancy and refunded me but my bank has yet to receive the refund. I blame the app because when my trial was over I accepted the subscription, then when I reopened the app it asked me to sign in again... and that’s where it double charged me. Now waiting on my end for this refund. The app is okay, but I don’t receive texts or webpage visits until a day or two after. The install is a little tricky, and walks you through but I had to go back and find info to help me to take care of issues because it didn’t fully sync. The Icloud needs to be backed up on the target phone. I also cannot get copies of phone calls because we have an Iphone, so yeah that stinks. It seemed to work better during the trial. ✓ Signs you out oftenAt first I had an issue with her phone sending mine data even though it was plugged in & connected to WiFi every night. Then it would only send partial data missing many texts. Also it wasn’t showing anything searched on the internet (especially not private searching) which was the biggest issue. Last it constantly signs out & I don’t have the time to make sure it’s signed in constantly. It is a very good app but needs a lot of repairing. ✓ Does not work as describedI just started using this app for my sons phone and after an extensive setup I thought it was ready for use. Turns out, every time I want to see the texts or contact list, I have to do the install all over again. ✓ Started out great....now doesn’t work right at all.Initially this app worked great and as described, however since Apple did its last upgrade it is terrible. They have now offered me the app for free for a lifetime? Great but if it can’t be fixed what’s the point? ✓ Crap Service, Customer Service and customer careNo phone number to contact directly, get run in circles with their prompts with their app for billing and technical service. When you try cancelling the subscription you get run in more circles. After cancelling and expiration of subscription, I was billed for subscription and tried cancelling, I was prompted to cancel auto payment which prompted me to renew subscription. Because I cancelled previously and subscription expired I cannot access my account. There is no technical support except email and they only work during the week. If you are lucky to get a response it turns into DYI though you are paying a premium for the subscription. Even after cancelling and subscription expired they accessed my bank account. ✓ Works part of the timeI like this app in that it holds my child to a level of accountability because she knows it’s on her phone and we can see what she’s doing. What I don’t like is that when she is away from me (across town or farther) and if her service is not great, the app doesn’t update text or internet browsing history and when it does update texts, it’s only bits and pieces. She’s been gone for a week but it hasn’t updated but maybe twice. Internet history hasn’t updated in a couple weeks. For the price we are paying, it definitely could be better..Version: 2.5.6
✓ Don’t waste your time and moneyThe app works just fine during the trial period. I’ve had this app for two months now. After that, and you are billed all data will not sync. Messages will come up and say that there is new data on the child’s phone available to review. If you click on it, the app freezes and crashes. If you choose to not click on it, and just tap on the icon and go in that way to review the new content, nothing new will be there, aside from the sync timer. If you try to uninstall and reinstall, you’ll be lucky if you get any data for the current week. Don’t bother with tech support, they take forever to get back to you and resolve nothing. ✓ Worst app!!I have used this in previous years and paid monthly and 6 months at a time. I decided with my next phone user coming up to pay for the yearly package. What a crock!!! It hasn’t worked since! I’ve read every Q&A done everything possible option. Even removed it and put it back on. Nope says it’s up to date and good to go. Yet none of the new messages or apps are updating the messages. There are so many work around a for the disabled apps feature it’s unreal. My kids didn’t even know I had shut them off. Sad!! ✓ Kids will outsmart this in 5 min and make you look stupidI hate to say it, but this app gives parents a false sense of security and makes them look stupid. I was able to circumvent the app very easily. Just send a test text and quickly delete it from your child’s phone. Presto! It’s not logged. Any child who wanted to evade text message logging could easily prevent this app from capturing the texts. Also on iOS if you cannot block texting then what is the point? (Support confined that the app only blocks 3rd party apps and not native iOS apps. Let that sink in!) Lastly when I went to cancel the subscription on day two after being extremely disappointed, I found that instead of being ready to charge me for three months worth of usage it was going to charge me the full yearly subscription amount. ✓ Good idea, but not 100%The concept is good, but if your child deletes texts before the software refreshes or updates, you won’t see the messages. Also, it doesn’t track phone calls or FaceTime calls. Fortunately, I was transparent with my teenager and explained why I was wanting to use this app. She told me that she broke up with her boyfriend today and I never saw the conversation via text. ✓ Rip Off!This app and site is such a disappointment! STAY AWAY! I downloaded and signed up through the app with a free 7 day trial. It never recognized my sign up information. 24 hours later, still trying to activate the account during the free trial. The 7 day “free trial” has been canceled and I am expected to pay to use. Why would I pay for something that I can’t even begin to set up to see if I’m willing to make the financial commitment. Perhaps money would be better spent by SaferKid on making sure their product is working and usable than all the advertising dollars! It doesn’t have “superpowers” while trying out but does tell you about apps to worry about (you can figure this out on an instagram meme.) anyway, less than 24x7 house later I was charged an irreversible $140 to spy on my kids. ✓ Major IssuesI have had this app for almost 2 months. It took weeks to get my son’s device set up correctly and when we added my daughter’s device, again it took weeks and it was never successfully set up. I contacted customer support (many, many times) and they kept telling me to do the same things over and over. At one point they said it was an issue on my daughter’s phone. Not to mention it takes up to 24 hours to start pulling info, including info telling me the device is having configuration problems. I’m done! ✓ Installation is DifficultThus far I’m on day three of the seven day free trial but haven’t been able to utilize all components of this app. I had to try multiple time just to get the kids device to show and get steps for installation. Then when I finally did this the process was halted and I needed to wait 10 more hours before proceeding. Then syncing the multi-factor part took hours and many attempts. Now that I’ve finally got that done now I have to wait yet another 24 hours. At the end of all this I hope it was worth it as I lost a lot of unreplacable time. It has been so difficult that I couldn’t help but write this review so that users are aware and prepared to spend a lot of time to configure the service and note the fact that it takes days before you can use all the features. 7 day free trial? ✓ No response!!I’ve used this app for over a year...worked great. Used it on one son, tried adding second son, since he just got old enough to have a phone. And no way no how will it work. For over a week now my husband and myself have tried emailing, contacted Apple...just to get help! No response at all. Now I’m locked out of the app because my password is all messed up. So I’ve canceled our subscription for now. I hopefully will renew it with some answers 😔 I have checked my spam, my other folder...I’ve looked several times a day hoping I’d get a response and I can’t. I can’t get back in the app at all since my password isn’t working and I can’t change it under the “Did you forget your password?”. ✓ Kinda Good, Kinda NotSo, the app is helpful in the sense that it shows the content of texts and what apps are installed. However, not all numbers have the contact name, so you don’t always know who the texts are to. My child can’t access certain websites for school because they’re restricted and they’re not even bad sites. An import can take so long that, by the time you see any content download, your child could be 3 towns away with a stranger. You can’t see the photos taken and you can’t see any phone calls or FaceTime calls in recent calls. I think I’ll be looking for an app that offers better features..Version: 2.5.6
✓ It’s not workingFirst of all it took a very long time to setup- the process was incredibly confusing. When it finally did setup it did one initial import and MOST of the text messages came through during the import but not all. If it did work correctly, it is not real time information. Now, it’s been setup for just under 24 hours and every time I check the app it says “74 minutes until next import” or “62 minutes until import is complete” BUT nothing is actually importing or updating. NOTHING has updated since the initial import. And yes, there have been other text messages sent and received because I’ve checked my son’s phone. I am so glad I had the free trial so I could see that it’s not working BEFORE spending money on monitoring that does not work. I am so disappointed..Version: 2.5.6
✓ Child that had the appI was the child that had the app on my phone, parents if you feel the need to have this app on not only your phone but your child’s phone also, then why get them a smart phone. Yes children love to play games and text their friends, but they need to show trust not rely on an app to get to know your child better, it is also an invasion of privacy for so many reasons, think to yourself how you would feel if it was switch! ✓ Not that great if you have iphoneBe aware: 1) If you have iphones you cannot see phone call logs 2) text messages are only updated a few times per day at most. To update manually it takes 90 minutes! 3) if you are looking for something to closely monitor a phones activity i do not suggest this app as you do NOT get real time notifications. 4) the app is based off the icloud so if the persons turns icloud off for certain apps you will never know what they are really downloading. 5) if the person deletes text messages you will never see them because it removes from icloud and even if i cloud is left on, this app takes so long to download the information that you will be none the wiser when they delete a msg and you still waiting another 90 minutes for an update 6) “parental super powers”...you dont get to pick which apps are disabled. ✓ It’s got its issuesThis app worked great at first. Then gradually over time I began getting fewer and fewer texts from my child’s phone, then the app monitoring and parent superpowers areas began to quit working regularly. I’d have to keep getting my child’s phone and resetting everything, only to discover, in the end, that she had been able to download snap chat and instagram MONTHS prior and I got zero alerts from the saferkid app nor did it show up on the “apps of concern” section of the saferkid app. I contacted the company several times about the lack of text monitoring I was able to do from the app and they could never a come up with a solid solution. ANYWAYS, I’m pretty good at finding work around and if you’re planning on using this on a smart teen or someone tech savvy, then don’t. If you go to your settings from the child’s phone, you can EASILY remove access from the app and take away its trust permissions, deleting the profile as you have to set it as your own. ✓ Service and qualityThis app is a total waste of $200. Doesn’t even come close to doing what is advertised. I have had problems on and off since purchase. The instructions are extremely bland and confusing. When I have reached out to get help I am told to refer to the link or the instructions on the SaferKid site. The whole 30 min costumer service response is a hit and miss. For a price tag of $200 you should fix my problem or refund the money. I find it amazing that it worked at its peak performance during the 7 day trial! For anyone reading this; you would be better off just using the screen time setting on you phones for free. ✓ Very disappointedI have had this app for quite awhile and am constantly having issues with it. You need to be able to talk to a live person to resolve issues. Email just doesn’t cut it. Why do I keep getting a message that says you need to change the password on this device. Tap here to fix. And it doesn’t work. Can you send me step by step instructions on what and when to do on each device. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and when it says click here for help it takes you back to the login screen. You re-enter the info again and nothing.Version: 2.4.0
✓ Don’t waste your moneyNotification says new data, app crashes new data is lost and you can’t request new data for an hour. Then the app crashes again been trying for 2 weeks to get new data. What a waste of £13.99.Version: 2.5.1
