Calorie Counter by Cronometer for Positive User Reviews

Amazing app for food tracking!Currently using the free version and the app does everything I want and more! I love how much detail the app provides for micro nutrient tracking, other apps have so many ads which interferes with the user experience, this app still has some ads, but you barely notice them..Version: 4.9.3

Best nutrition app everEasy to use and so detailed I love it! Nutrition is so much more than just macros..Version: 3.0.16

Great app, let me pay for ad free but not premiumThe free app has everything I need but I would like to pay for no ads, the premium app offers all these features I don’t want so I won’t pay for it, I however would happily pay for an ad free version of the free app Overall a really good app that makes tracking super easy, highly recommended Also the ads are not intrusive, I just want to not have any!.Version: 4.14.2

Superb app, all you could want from a nutrition appThis app will teach you about nutrition in a detailed way, with its breakdown of the functionality of different micronutrients, and the food sources which you can get them from. I am baffled why personal trainers recommend crap like My Fitness Pal. The free version is supremely generous, it has more than enough information, so it is predominantly the company’s goodwill that earns my paid subscription..Version: 3.6.2

Technically challengedI’m really technically challenged but find Cronometer extremely easy to use. Because it’s so user friendly it makes tracking less of a chore.Version: 4.8.1

Best food trackerLove this app so much!! In my experience it’s the best food tracker out there—I’ve tried MyFitnessPal, Fitbit, iTrackBites, and several others, but cronometer is hands down the best I’ve found. Love the simple, clean user interface, clear display of macros, daily nutrition analysis, and especially the ability to import and add recipes. I use it to help me maintain/lose weight and watch my sodium/fat intake while ensuring that I’m getting enough protein and other nutrients. Quick, simple, and easy to use. The free version does have ads, but they are fairly non-intrusive, and the gold version is ad-free and absolutely wonderful. I have it synced with my Garmin and I was skeptical about that at first, but they pair together very well. I have left reviews of Cronometer before, and I wanted to update my previous review but for some reason it has disappeared. No worries; the app developers seem to have fixed the issues I brought up (database issues) and I just want to thank you for your dedication and continuous improvement of this wonderful app! Truly a life-changing tool. Thank you so much! :).Version: 3.22.1

Useful appI’m trying to keep track of my diet, especially specific micronutrients during my pregnancy, and this has been helpful. Foods and supplements are easy to input (or add, if the app is not familiar with them.) Obviously it isn’t perfect since it can only give a general idea of how much of a nutrient any specific person will be able to absorb from the foods they’ve logged, and certain nutrients are generalized (like “vitamin k” instead of “k1” and “k2”) I also wish there was a way to add vitamin D from intentional daily sun exposure and that when you log water or drinks that it used a 💧instead of including it with the food 🍎 I’d love to have a second page of highlighted nutrient targets at the top of my diary instead of their nutrition scores page -but overall it’s the best app I’ve used. You can see your records on the app, or the web, and they have a lot of different measurements for inputting the food you’ve eaten, which is very helpful if you estimate instead of weighing things sometimes….Version: 4.11.2

Great app! The best!!!!This app is one of the best if you want to keep track of your healthy eating. It is the best app ever! You can use it for free or you can pay a little bit and prepare your own recipes!!! FANTASTIC APP!!! ❤️❤️Love it!!!.Version: 4.8.0

Superior to My Fitness PalThis app is what I wish I came across when I first learned about tracking my food intake. It’s simple to navigate, foods are easy to add and measurements are simple to specify. It tracks your macros in an comprehensible and visual way. And there’s also space to add your biometrics and blood work, if you so desire. Overall, best app I’ve used to track my nutritional intake..Version: 3.23.1

Advertisements decrease functionalityLove the easy use of this app and how it has aided me in getting better macros etc but every single time I go to log something new ( even for a single meal with lots of ingredients) an add pops up that I can’t skip. Really takes time out of my day and makes me want to find a different app :/.Version: 2.3.5

Better than most trackersThe best thing about this app is that it feeds all the data from your Apple Watch or Fitbit into one source so you can realistically see how many calories you have left for the day. As an Aussie user it still has a way to go on products in the database and the biggest drawback is how slow the app is and how often it just spends loading data. But in terms of what I need it is very good and I also love the recipe section to add your own dishes. I do wish you could section out the food into breakfast, lunch etc as an option (but not default). If there was also an option to add a symptom tracker for food intolerances it would literally be the perfect app!.Version: 3.2.8

Best appBeen looking for an app simply to count calories and track food/macros since the one I was using shut down. This one does exactly that but offers other services for free like fasting, tracking your work outs and writing notes through out the day. Highly recommend, easy to use app with a lot of free services..Version: 4.15.0

Good app but two factor authentication appallingHave used the app for a year or two and it’s great. Was happy to hear they were introducing more security but the day I switched it on, I could no longer log in on any new device. Tried the help page but it simply didn’t work. Had to go back to my old almost-dead device to switch it off as every help suggestion didn’t work..Version: 3.5.1

Amazing New Design! After being a premium member for a while, when the app transitioned to having a free tier that allowed searchable foods I was a little bit skeptic about the future quality of the app. I am thankfully surprised after coming back to this new update! Everything looks much better and the presentation is fantastic! Only one gripe I have is that the text size is too big for me. I would like the ability to reduce my text size..Version: 3.2.3

Extremely useful free nutrition guideIt’s free. It’s an amazing guide and really easy to use. Lots of UK brands. I’m using this as a guide as I’ve gone vegan, to see what nutrients I’m a) consuming and b) lacking. Biotin/B17/vitamin H (same vitamin) has next to no info! But they admit it on the website. Otherwise I’m LOVING this app. It’s defaulted to USA minimum daily intake, hence the guide, but it’s free and easy to change all of them if you want to. I’m not going to use it every day but it’s great for picking up on a random day or few days to check in with myself or if I’ve over indulged to see what’s I’ve done right or otherwise. Thank you for a fab free app..Version: 3.0.10

Chronometer appQuite hard to navigate around the app, but pretty good once you master it. Had a good feed back email from the helpline..Version: 3.17.0

သိပ် ကောင်းတယ်။Excellent app which allows me to track my nutrient intake, and which has proved so useful in allowing me to fine tune my diet to address any deficiencies I might have during any particular day. The range of specific prepared foods tend to be very western-oriented, but there are several - slightly haphazard - ways to address this, including a laborious breaking down of the ingredients of a meal, or if appropriate selecting an alternative option you’re happy to input. So the data you’ll have access to is very much approximate. However, I’m fine with this..Version: 3.4.2

This app is freakin’ amazingIT IS SO EASY AND COOL TO USE MY GOD. THE INTERFACE AND THE SCAN FEATURE!? FAVOURITES!? PERCENTAGE BREAKDOWNS!? ABSOLUTE VALUES!? It’s amazing lol. Fr fr, download this. DOWNLOAD IT NOW!.Version: 4.9.1

Best thing goingIf you need to track your nutrition this is the fastest most accurate app going..Version: 4.11.2

Great Info!Great app with great info provided to track macro & micronutrients. The one issue I have is that when inputting info with keyboard, there is no way to close the keyboard when finished (for example a done button to close the keyboard). So when inputting info you will get stuck on a page with no way to continue to the next page. Please fix this!!.Version: 4.15.0

Extremely GoodStarting using this app recently as keen to lose weight but want to do this healthily. This app allows you to see all of your macronutrients and such detail which is not the case with MFP or other such apps. I’ve used a number of apps to count calories, macronutrients and reduce carbs and not one app has everything to do this. MFP doesn’t always log calcium and other granular details and in other apps they charge. I love this app which is super helpful and a favourite for me. I’d recommend it being of value and super detailed. I can log my exercise and keep track of everything in one place. Great great app. Great work guys..Version: 3.4.0

Love this app! It’s the only app that I’ve found that can track the vitamins and minerals and allows you to set targets for specific nutrients. It is really quick to upload food, has a good bank of food for quick scanning of labels and enables me to collate ingredients into my own recipes. So pleased with this-thank you!.Version: 3.4.7

The best calorie count apps out thereEasy to track calories, huge database of foods, lots of details about nutrient and vitamins. Calories really accurate. Good price for a subscription. Highly recommended..Version: 4.15.0

Love the app!I started my bodybuilding journey about a year ago and made some good progress at the start because of newbie gains, but eventually I started to slow down. Although I was training just fine, I wasn’t really that focused on my nutrition. After deciding to use Cronometer and commit to a slow but steady bulk, plateaus are a thing of the past and I’ve been gaining strength and weight consistently month after month! I’m loving the progress I’ve been seeing in the gym and Cronometer is definitely a tool that is aiding my success in that. Anyone who’s looking to take bodybuilding seriously, or weight loss seriously, or just wants to follow a more healthy diet can greatly benefit by implementing Cronometer into their toolkit..Version: 4.8.0

Better than My Fitness Pal for trackingSo I have been using this app for several weeks. I am losing weight and I am mentally healthy with my approach. I lost a lot of weight through a food provided program in 2019- very low calorie and about $600 month in food. I am losing my pandemic weight at the same pace without deprivation, boxed or frozen food and I am eating foods that I like everyday. Here’s why? I log everything. I can create notes for each meal or just in general. It’s a bit like a journal around my eating. I get feedback on the nutritional quality of my foods. It’s helping me look for items that will complete my nutritional profile for the day. I love that. Finally, there are a lot of food items in the database. It’s super easy to add items, import a recipe (love that) or create a recipe in the system. I did purchase the paid version which gives me a few additional options around reporting and nutrition tracking..Version: 3.18.2

Chronometer is great.Been using for a couple weeks, I was using macro tracker for just over a year and couldn’t justify paying for another year. Features on here for free are amazing and on par with what macro tracker offers..Version: 4.16.1

Best App for Tracking MicronutrientsA lot of diet and fitness apps allow you to count calories, macros, exercise, and water, but there is no app I have used that compares to Cronometer in its ability to track micronutrients (at least in free versions). With Cronometer, you not only can track how many calories you consume each day and what your daily macronutrient distribution is, but you can see what your daily intake is of vitamins and minerals in comparison to the RDI. You can also change what micronutrients are highlighted in your daily summary, and you can even manipulate the minimum and maximum intake for each micronutrient based on your own personal needs. Also, the simple user interface really makes logging food easy and straightforward. As someone who cares not only about tracking their caloric intake, but seeing the nutrients I am getting in that intake, this app is very useful and the best I have used..Version: 3.6.0

Good App, easy to useApp is easy to use to keep track of my goals.Version: 4.7.0

GreatSimple and easy to use.Version: 4.8.0

Accept no cheap copiesThe only good calorie tracker. The dev has been producing this app for more than 10 years. Every feature you can think of is here..Version: 3.22

The more I use this app, the more I LOVE itMy wife and I both use and LOVE Cronometer, it has a relatively moderate learning curve but so worth it. This app has a great interface and super powerful ‘behind the scene’ features. It literally blows away any pseudo similar apps, particularly the social oriented ones like MyFitnessPal or Lose-it. Cronometer most definitely is the best app we have explored for both macronutrient as well as more complex micronutrient tracking and monitoring. If you’re truly serious about your nutrition and overall health, than THIS is the app to use..Version: 4.6.3

Best app/great support! The best food and nutrition app by far. Complete, technical and a joy to use. Moreover, the support staff, in those rare occasions when the app has trouble, are superb. I had trouble upgrading my account; they fixed the problem and provided the upgrade for free for my trouble. Can’t beat that!.Version: 3.15.1

Amazing!Weird name, great app! I never write app reviews, but I felt this one warranted one, so thumbs up developers 👍🏼 I searched for an app for ages that looked at the vitamin and mineral content of food, and I’m so happy I stumbled across this one! It’s been really eye opening, seeing that even though I don’t eat any junk foods, that I’m still not getting my RDAs of some nutrients! It’s been so useful 😊 also, it gives a brief indication of the benefits, and highlights some food sources, of each nutrient! Seriously great! And even better that it’s free 👌🏼.Version: 3.5.1

Excellent app if you are serious about losing weightThis app has everything I’ve needed to lose weight in a healthy way not just by counting calories, but by being able to see immediately if what I am eating is providing with them necessary nutrients. Scanning the bar code is simple and easy, and being able to enter most new foods simply by scanning the data on the label with a phone camera instead of entering all that info manually is a game changer. If you are at the point where you are committed to using food in a healthier way, I recommend this app..Version: 4.8.0

On track to be better than MyFitnessI have only been using this app a couple of weeks but I already prefer it over MFP. This is mainly due to the visual charts, the speed of scanning barcodes, and the amount of data and nutrition information for a scanned item. The later is huge. With MFP I was missing a large amount of nutritional information that was important for me to track due to all of the incorrect or incomplete items available. This app resolves that. Good job guys! Improvements: there are several things that can really make this app even better but my guess is that you are working on them already. It is also possible that some of these features are available, and that I just haven’t figured out how to do. 1. Ability to select multiple items at a time to add quickly to another day. If multiple items can be selected either in history, search results, or in Daily Summary, it would make it a lot faster to move or re-add items to another day. MFP does this to site an example. 2. Ability to automatically add certain items to each day. 3. More serving size options for food entries. For example: tablespoon or by item..Version: 4.3.1

Really well made app, better than LifesumThis app is well optimised, doesn’t stutter, crash or glitch, it has a real in-depth look at your macros and micros and all food data seems to be backed by research so it should be accurate. As opposed to Lifesum which is nowhere near as in-depth with your micro nutrients even with a subscription and would stutter and crash all the time, the food I think is also input by the community and was really inaccurate and unreliable so I didn’t trust the data it was giving me. this app also has a caffeine tracker which is a really important feature to me. One thing I would like to see tho, are healthy recipes and diet plans which was the one thing I enjoyed about Lifesum.Version: 4.6.4

Great Resource! My Keto coach recommended this app to me and it was instrumental in my weight loss journey. I’m down 33 pounds and counting..Version: 3.19.0

Easy to useThis app has the largest food bank list to choose from. It’s easy, quick, precise and more importantly, it provides accurate information to maintain optimal health/weight/macros/glucose etc..Version: 4.16.1

Amazing trackerLoving this tracker! It has pretty much all of the food brands I use and many different portion sizes to track to. The ability to make recipes so that it’s quicker to add next time is great too..Version: 4.11.2

Amazing appI am so grateful for this incredible easy free app. It is making tracking nutrition easy and quick..Version: 4.14.1

Excellent nutrition website and appVery well designed system for keeping track of nutrition status. Finding my regular foods is so easy, e.g., cod liver oil only requires ‘cod’ and it suggests it right away. I like the recipe feature. For instance, I have written a recipe for my homemade bread and fruit cake, which are stored on the app; then weigh each slice before I eat it and enter the amount. I often tweak and edit the recipe from week to week, which is no problem. The app even allows me to enter the cooked weight of the bread or cake. This is so useful as a lot of water is lost during the baking. Personally I only deal in the weighed quantity of foods….not in ‘servings’. I like it to be precise as possible. I have a small digital kitchen scale which makes that easy. However, you could use servings if preferred. As the day progresses I can check how many calories, fats, protein, carbohydrates and nutrients I’ve consumed. By the end of the day, I check if I’m short of any vitamins or minerals etc., which helps me adjust consumption of the necessary foods. My preference is to do a week or two of detailed food recording, weighing everything I eat. Then take a break from it, as it is time consuming. I only occasionally eat out and never buy ready-made meals, so I have a lot of control over what I eat. I’m very happy with the app..Version: 4.16.1

Best food tracking appI’ve been using this app for years and absolutely love it. Easy to use, large data base of foods and easy to add recipes. I love that it breaks down vitamins in the food as well. Best nutrition and food tracking app in my opinion..Version: 4.16.1

MFP pay walled the scanner so I’m giving this a goHopefully this app continues to improve and not abusive its customers, I hope you guys become MFP’s next big comp..Version: 3.24.0

Cronometer- the bestI have used this app for a couple of years and happily pay for the gold version. I can’t say enough about how great this is. I have osteoporosis so I am tracking my calcium as getting it through food is the best way rather than taking a pill. I amazed at how user friendly it is. I’ve added my supplements, used custom recipes and it all works seamlessly. I’m old so tech doesn’t come easy to me but this app is intuitive. It’s been a lifesaver for my husband as he has to eat a very strange diet and we are now able to see if he’s getting his right nutrition. I know this seems crazy that I’ve gone on and on about this but it is the best app and the few times I’ve needed help, they are so responsive..Version: 3.7.3

Great app but problems with subscriptionsGreat app but can’t subscribe to monthly plan - only brings up payment options for annual. Have contacted support but no response so thought I’d pop it here instead!.Version: 3.12.1

Keto JourneyThis App has made my Keto journey a breeze. Before using this app I wasn’t able to follow the diet properly and wasn’t losing any weight. Now I’m reaching my goals!!!.Version: 4.10.0

Coronmeter AppEasy to use, information is helpful and accurate.Version: 4.8.0

100x better than MyFitness PalThe free version of this app trumps MyFitness pal. A much better user friendly interface and overall more attractive app. Not to mention the barcode scanner is available in the free version..Version: 4.0.5

New interface not as cleanApp is good overall. New updated interface is prettier but somehow harder to distinguish fields..Version: 3.0.12

Features are great, interface & compatibility lacking.Cronometer is a great tracking app, would like the ability to view other peoples food diaries as well as integrate it into other fitness apps. Database is smaller but growing. Fantastic app overall..Version: 3.1.0

This app is a godsend, trulyI can’t get over how helpful this app is. Far too many I’ve downloaded in the past just show calories, this one really delves into all the minerals, vitamins and nutrients you’re low on. I can Google the ones I’m lacking and find foods that will heighten my percentage. It’s enjoyable, like a game that actually benefits you. I find myself constantly wishing I could be healthier but struggling to even know what I need or how to get it, it can become really overwhelming and too much to maintain. This app, in the least dramatic way, has saved me. Thank you for making so many features free for us that need this but don’t have the money to be paying for the Gold features. If you’re debating downloading it, DOWNLOAD IT!.Version: 4.10.0

Best of its kindI was a long time user of the (now very old and largely defunct) DietPower software. As the years rolled by, I tried most of the other online health and fitness apps, and none of them were a suitable replacement. They often had terrible food entry, were very noisy, and were often more focused on support groups than they were on the primary task of just logging food and exercise! After a decade of trying most of the other apps and being dissatisfied, Cronometer was worth the wait! The food logging is nearly perfect - the searches are fast and intuitive, and the barcode scanner is fantastic too. The ability to easily copy old records (even whole meals) to today’s food diary makes data entry lightning fast. Exercise entry is simple and there are categories for nearly everything- and all are easy to find. The calculations for calories burned is straightforward, and the entries allow you to enter custom values if you track them in another app such as Runkeeper. Integration with devices looks excellent (though I’ve not used that feature yet). Best of all, the interface on both the app and the website is clean, uncluttered, and very intuitive. I have nothing but gratitude to the folks at Cronometer for getting it so *right*! Strongly recommend!!.Version: 3.10.3

Best tracking app fr (free)Completely free and recognizes almost all foods and allows to add custom foods if not recongnized. Also tracks micros and yeah.Version: 4.8.0

No stressI didn’t want to start a diet at all. It stressed me out thinking about counting calories. This has completely changed the way I look at my meals for the day. I’m able to see how many nutrients I’m getting and where I need to fill in the gaps in real time. I can then decide what I want for a snack and it isn’t telling me that I should not eat a cookie! Instead I can see how many calories to eat to stay in my goal. It updates after I do exercise so I can adjust throughout the day how many calories I’m going to eat. I love the wheels. I also I’ve that I can weigh my food and easily see how many calories it is exactly for what my portion is. It is very user friendly and I like the graphics a lot! I’ve gained a lot of insight into my health and it’s helped me understand where I need to fill in some gaps. Highly recommend!.Version: 3.5.8

Great Calorie CounterFree Can use barcode scanner Can favourite foods Simple and easy 10/10.Version: 4.9.3

Best nutrition trackerI have used a few trackers in the past. Most notably MFP, for about 2-3 years. This app is by far the most comprehensive one. It has all kinds of features that even the paid MFP doesn’t have. For me tracking vitamins, minerals and even amino acids is the killer feature here. I also love the fact that I can see all that data in Apple Health. I’m perfectly fine with all the free features, but will be happy to pay for this once I’ve used it for a bit more.Version: 3.18.2

BrilliantThis is a brilliant app if you want to keep control of your carb or calorie count. Tells you all sorts of interesting information on what you are eating and keeps up with your weight and being too. Thinking of upgrading to the paid one..Version: 3.3.4

Best tracking app by farI’ve used various apps before for tracking my calories / macros and this beats them hands down. Not only can I track my macros easily, I can also get a clear view of my micronutrients which is essential to keep me healthy in my job as a personal trainer. Can’t recommend this highly enough and plan on getting my clients to switch to this app..Version: 3.3.5

CronometerGreat app for tracking calories, i find the make your own recipe perfect and it really easy once you get the hang of it. The apps features are detailed and colour coded for your use and it’s really easy to use overall. You can scan barcodes of foods and if it doesn’t exist in the system already, you can add in the nutrient list and they will calculate it for you and add it onto the system for the future. Great app! Makes my weight loss journey, THAT much easier!.Version: 4.4.0

Perfect for what I was looking for.I just wanted a simple app that would allow me to see all my nutrition information about what I eat. I especially wanted to know what kind of micronutrients I was lacking in my daily eating routine and this app has helped me make those changes that ensure that I’m getting all the nutrients my body needs. Allows you to set goals! So for me I try to stay under 26g of sugar a day and this really helps me see what foods I’m eating contain sugar even if I didn’t think they did. Also, you can see exactly what nutrients you are getting from the piece of food that gave it to you and how much it gave you! Ex) eggs gave me 10% of my daily need for folate I guess the one negative I have is that it doesn’t allow you to group your meals together but honestly that doesn’t really bother me (: This is just some of what you get with the app for free! I haven’t paid for a subscription yet, but I might so I can link my Fitbit.Version: 3.3.9

Loved the app until new updates6/25- The issues have been fixed! I’m really happy to be able to use the app again. And more than that, it’s really great to see a responsive team that listens to new ideas and bugs and follows through. Thank you! I loved the app until the last couple of updates- it was the only app that really let me look at micronutrients, easily toggle off and on calorie counting while still tracking nutrient data, and gave me lots of trends and general data with a more accurate database. But the second to last update removed the ability to toggle calorie counting off and on by permanently adding calories to your macronutrients summary so you can’t track protein, carbs, and fat without seeing calories. That’s also the only place you can see a deficit if you have one set up now, as the general energy summary only shows overall calories now and is not intuitive at all. I did contact the team but received generic instructions for turning off calories that are no longer accurate since the update. I emailed back but haven’t had a response since. Unfortunately I think it’s time to find a new app to use and recommend to people given it looks like these changes are here to stay..Version: 3.22.1

Good but glitchyI downloaded this app today after MFP’s recent paywall update. This app certainly has more features than MFP does for free which I really like. I’m still looking around the app and exploring but I like what I see. My only complaint is it is quite glitchy. I’ve had to close and restart the app a few times and it did randomly log me out already once. I’ve only been using it for about 20 minutes. So I can see this frustrating me in the future if I’m trying to use it in a time crunch. Hopefully the developers will fix the issues or have the app running better in the future. Given how most apps require you to spend at least 40 dollars just to open them I’ll take what I can get! I really hope the developers don’t stoop down to spamming the app with ads or creating tons of paywalls like other apps. This has the potential to be the best weight tracking app out! I will say I did notice they have a “gold” subscription so there is already a paywall, but I hope it remains as something extra and not something necessary..Version: 3.24.0

By far the best diet appIt has all the things one can practically ask for. You can track the major nutritional categories, vitamins, minerals and more. Even amino acids if you need. All this and yet very simple, clean easy to use. I like the most the fact that you can reverse track any nutritional parameter that are important to you:if it shows you you consumed 1000mg potassium today, you just click on that to see how each food item contributes to it so you know where to act. No other app does that..Version: 3.8.4

Best free nutrition trackerWow, I am impressed with this app. I used MyFitnessPal for a long time but I needed to track certain nutrients in more detail, such as iron, magnesium and amino acids. Cronometer allows you to set customisable targets for every macro and micronutrient, and it also allows you to see which foods you’ve logged contained the most of a specific nutrient, like iron, for instance. It’s so versatile and helpful for making sure your body is getting everything it needs. Exactly what I was looking for - thank you!.Version: 3.1.3

Cronometer ReviewExcellent app! Easy to use and very accurate!.Version: 4.8.1

Great nutrition and diet infoI used this app a couple of years ago to help me improve my awareness of my diet and to lose weight. I did both and it was really useful. Now I need to get back on track after all the Covid lockdowns and bad habits and junk food. It’s helping me again. Thanks!.Version: 3.11.1

Useful for keto and nutritionI use both the app and desktop page and have found it took almost all the guess work out of the keto diet. I have found it's default guidelines to be comfortable for me, and my favorite thing is getting a close look at what I'm missing nutritionally. I suspect a few deficiencies in my diet and after tracking my habits I was sure what to supplement and what to eat more of. It's a good overall look at daily habits and trends and very very helpful for keto. I trust Dr. Mercola on many health topics so this almost feels like he's personally coaching me, because I trust that he had his developers use a well thought approach to the calculations involved with this. I have no complaints about finding product or inputting info. I don't expect perfection, it's a constantly changing market. I have been pleasantly surprised that many name brands I use are there. I find this app much more helpful and informative than my fitness pal. It's more personalized..Version: 2.1.2

So much nutritional information!!!And has plenty of potential!!! You can edit nutritional information that some corporations fail to provide Like protein contents and other micronutrients!!! Like you don’t want to intake too much Isoleucine according to peer reviewed studies!!! Plus Create meal plans and create custom food entry’s in you diary!!! Sorry if I’m screaming!!! This app is easily worth $150-$350 for lifetime membership!!! This is definitely an app if you want to put yourself in blue zone mentality. I would love the database to keep expanding. Starting from big chain fast food and restaurants on downward since it’s more accessible for people to come across. But understand food items come and go sometimes. Like i see some chik-fil-a and Taco Bell items missing but like I said, YOU CAN CREATE IN CUSTOM FOODS!!! Yezzir!!.Version: 4.16.1

Love the recipe import functionWhen my doctor told me to track calories last year to lose weight and lower my BP, I told her tracking makes me crazy and I hate it. I resisted for almost a year. I had done WW and Noom before and always found their databases inaccurate- the same item would have multiple entries with wildly different calories. I didn’t have the bandwidth to track. The worst was that I found myself not cooking because adding recipes was really hard. I hated adding each ingredient, etc. I used the free version of Cronometer occasionally and felt like the database was much better than the others. But when I saw the recipe importer, I was delighted. And more importantly it works!!! I regularly cook recipes from The NY Times and Eating Well and I can import the ingredients. What a joy!!!! Sundays I import all my recipes for the week and add them to my days. So much easier to identify what I should eat for breakfast and lunch. Great app!.Version: 3.16.1

Love it !!Perfect app for nutrition.Version: 4.9.1

Perfect for me!I’ve always had a low BMI and after getting pregnant consulted with a nutritionist. I needed more protein in my diet so I started eating meat after being a pescatarian for a year. Unfortunately, the app they had me using was clunky and not very intuitive. At 18 weeks pregnant I was not gaining enough weight still so I searched for my own app and found this one. It’s absolutely perfect! It takes into account that I’m pregnant and let’s me adjust how much weight I want to gain per week if I want. It tracks the important stuff that I need to make sure my little man is getting everything he needs! And it’s soooo simple! I’ve created recipes with my daily shakes and was able to scan in all my vitamins. The copy and paste feature is perfect and the barcode feature is fantastic. I’ve been using for two weeks and have only had one item that the barcode didn’t recognize. I’ve never written a review on an app before but as of yesterday (after using the app for only two weeks) I am on track with my weight where I should be at 20 weeks pregnant and I couldn’t be happier that I found this app! Thank you for making something so easy to help people track their diet for whatever purpose they choose!!.Version: 3.4.3

The teamThese guys seem to have a really great team! They’re always a pleasure to communicate with. The new improvements on the app make it much better as well. Looking forward to seeing what’s next! Keep up the good work guys. Cheers. Nav.Version: 3.0.17

Amazing, can’t believe it’s freeThis is everything you need if you want to lose a bit of weight and keep fit. Really easy and efficient way to keep track of calories and macros. Best thing I’ve used to help me control my weight and absolutely can’t believe it’s free..Version: 3.4.9

I love this app, but I have a recommendationThis app is one of my most used and most useful apps! I like it so much, I paid for the subscription and have no regrets. It has enabled me to meet each and every macro and micronutrient it tracks (and it tracks many!) saving me the cost of expensive vitamins and supplements I no longer need, because clearly see I’m getting them all throughout the day in the foods I eat. I also love and continue to learn from the “suggest a food” feature. I do have one suggestion for the app developers. Please add an import recipe function. I used a different app previously, and while the nutritional information it provided was by far more limited and less useful than this one, it provided the ability to import recipes. That’s a huge timesaver and a feature I keep wishing this app had. If you add that capability I will give this app 5 stars and you’ll have a fan for life. :).Version: 2.3.5

Simply The Best! The best food tracking app out there. I’ve seen some reviews that it doesn’t have as many English products, it has. They must be outdated reviews. Yes I’ve had to add some ingredients but I did with other apps too. It has extensive information about micro nutrients which the other don’t and is quite simply a very powerful tool. I’ve used calorie counter and Lifesum for around a year on and off. This app puts them both to shame. If you want a flashy app that actually misleads with their pre loaded diets, then download it. If you want an app that gives you 10 times more information then get Cronometer..Version: 3.0.13

Love this appI’ve tried a few times to count my macronutrients on my own with little success, and I usually get burnt out after a few days of crunching numbers. This app is awesome and makes it really easy to track exactly how much of each macro I’m getting every day and hit my goals for each with a lot less stress than I’ve gotten from looking up each individual food and doing the math. Ever since I started this app I’ve been noticing a huge difference in how I feel after each meal/day and the numbers on the scale, definitely would recommend if you’re working towards a fitness goal or if you just want to know more about what you put in your body!.Version: 3.17.0

Love this app with the money spentI upgraded to the gold and although pricey, it’s worth it to use all the functionality - I often cook from recipes online and I can just import them in. There also an oracle feature that recommends how you can adjust your diet based on what you’ve eaten so far - haven’t used it heaps but hints to the right foods to get more balanced is pretty cool. The scan tool works great and ive found it really accurate, database is extensive and uses real data not junk data like some sites- it includes Australian foods which is awesome unlike other sites I’ve used that were all US-focussed. The ability to track macro and micronutrients means I can make really informed decisions on what I eat - just overall gotta say I’m just really loving this app for making it easy and relevant to people like me concerned about their diet. Great for anyone wanting a useful decision-making tool..Version: 4.3.1

Like the appUpdating review after the dev pledged to fix a bug with prompting for reviews incorrectly. 5 stars for hiring a person to check the reviews and submit feedback to devs..Version: 4.8.0

EnlighteningSearched for an app that would give information about nutrition. Entering my meals it quickly became obvious why I’m always low in iron, despite my healthy eating. Using chronometer I can adapt my meals throughout the day to meet daily RDI’s, even testing a meal or snack’s score before eating it. While this app will tell you fat, protein, carbs, my focus is on vitamins and minerals+ So much more energy, and no longer in the dark about meeting RDI’s..Version: 4.3.3

Amazing appI’ve been using it for about two years and I can’t imagine why I would stop any time soon. All in all, a pretty good sign that Cronometer is good. Even syncs exercise data with my Apple Watch, which I’ve only had for about a year.Version: 4.8.0

Good appI find this a very good app, mostly free you can upgrade for a cost. But don’t feel I need that. My only frustration is that you can only add one item at a time, when picking from previous foods, which we all know we tend to eat the same things over again. Also there is no sections for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks which other apps allow for free. Just found the multi add for previous foods eaten. Thanks for you help.Version: 4.11.2

A must-have for pregnant/breastfeeding moms to beIf you are trying to lose weight, trying to be healthy, or trying to make sure you are getting everything you need because you, like me, are trying to get pregnant/ are pregnant, then this is the only app you will ever need. The breakdowns of carbs/fats/proteins into their components is so amazing, not to mention I have never seen a more all-encompassing and user friendly app for micronutrients, water consumption, caffeine consumption etc. You name it, and this app breaks it down for you, as well as shows you the foods you tend to eat that contain certain nutrients, in addition to telling you the function of the nutrient and other food sources you can get it from. Making sure I am eating enough of specific micronutrients for my baby has never been so easy! You can even log your prenatal vitamin!.Version: 3.20.2

One major flawThe app is great but we should be given the ability to separate our meals into breakfast/ lunch/ dinner, rather being forced to simply list each ingredient. This would make it a lot easier to track calories per meal and the ingredients in each meal..Version: 3.4.9

Love this app …And therefore wouldn’t give it anything other than 5stars fir content BUT come on, my bank requires less “rigorous” password settings. 12 Characters!!! Especially as it says you can’t use special characters ?!?! And I’m afraid it HASN’T remembered my password each time so I have had to reset twice. This is way over the top for a food tracking app and would make me consider stopping subscription if I had to reset password with 12 characters even once in 20 times..Version: 3.11.1

The only tracker worth using!I’ve used several other nutrition tracking apps, including the ever popular MFP. But they fail if you’re interested in tracking anything beyond calories. That’s because the other apps allow users unrestricted and unregulated input, and most users are too lazy to actually type in correct macros, never mind micronutrients. if the food you want to enter isn’t already in their database, this app automatically populates macro and micro nutrition from a photo of the nutrition panel! And if you do find the rare mistake or omission, just send a note to support and they’ll get right on it and then let you know it’s been fixed. Keep up the great work, Cronometer crew!.Version: 3.16.0

Seems about on par with MyFitnessPalI have only used the free version of Cronometer so this review is only for the free version. It doesn’t have as many items in the database as MyFitnessPal but you can add them in easily by just taking pictures of the nutrition facts label. Cronometer seems to have more accurate nutrient scores than MFP. Free version of Cronometer tracks more nutrients than the MFP free version. Doesn’t have the option to add in your foods under specific meals like breakfast, lunch, dinner etc. Does have a reminder you can turn on to remind you to log your foods by a certain time. Doesn’t appear to have a multi select button for adding foods which is pretty annoying because it has pop up video ads that come on when you hit the add food button a bunch of times to add multiple foods. Will not integrate my Garmin smartwatch for some reason. I have been using it for about a month now, overall it seems comparable to MFP which I had used for about 10 years off and on, including the MFP Premium version which I tried out but did not find worth paying for..Version: 3.24.0

Ugly but beats Lifesum and MFPIt’s got none of the bells and whistles of MFP or Lifesum but you’re wasting your time with them anyways. I’ve been using them for years and after three days with this realise the data has been way off. DESIGN - NO WIDGETS. Hopefully coming as they’re handy reminders. - it’s unnecessarily ugly, busy with hard to discern icons for my rubbish eye sight; need specs to use it. - It’s got a similar layout to MFP which works but font choice and size here are too small for some reason. However, it means you get more information on screen. - The amount of data presented is really good though; you can quickly see where you’re at and what you need to do, or not. Just - The website aces it with key metrics presented really well. Excellent job done there. FOODS - it won’t work for you if you’re in the UK scanning processed food. If you’re at the barcode scanning stage stick with something like lifesum. - it aces it with the nutritional detail for everything else and in way, way more detail which is fascinating..Version: 3.6.1

First Week ReviewChose this app after trying several others. What won me over was the food library. I started food dairies on several of the apps in parallel . I eventually bailed on all except Cronometer mostly because of limited food libraries. For me for an app to be useful food entries need to be quick and painless. This app exceeds my expectations there. It’s layout is 95% intuitive which is very good, no one likes to read manuals or shouldn’t need to. I know this is a pricey app but purchased on a yearly basis is not that much money and personally my health is worth it. Maybe once my new vegan diet becomes second nature I’ll drop the app or maybe not, but until then it’s going to be instrumental in ensuring I get balanced nutritional intake..Version: 3.23.1

Need options for different dietsI really like this app. I started using it because I was diagnosed with anemia and wanted better macro/ micro nutrient tracking. I used to use my fitness pal for tracking calories, but that wasn’t giving me the info I needed. I’m happy to report I am no longer anemic after using this app to track my iron. I also get kidney stones, so I love using it for tracking sodium too. I am a vegetarian working towards WFPB (whole food plant based). My biggest pet peeve with using this app is when I’m searching for a food and it gives me all the processed and meat options first. For example today I searched for a potato and the first few options were potato Tots, fried potatoes and boiled with out skins. I had to scroll a ways before I found whole potato with skins. I also search for ethnic foods a lot, like coconut korma, but chicken version comes up first. So what I would really love is a setting where I could say I’m vegetarian or WFPB and those search results would come to the top or filter out meat or dairy versions all together. Keep up the good work! This app is really great..Version: 3.19.1

Best health app in the storeI started my journey on Keto in January 2018 and looked around for an app which could record my progress. Found this one, and I absolutely use it for everything I want to recite with respect to my health. It now contains all the food I’ve eaten since the start of my journey, selfies, biographical data and even times I got ill. It has a complete record of all aspects of my health. Without this app, I would have had to use several apps concurrently, this one stores everything in one place. I am extremely glad I found it. Thank you guys!!.Version: 2.2.1

Great AppIt'd be great to stop the auto refresh when moving from one page to another as this takes the user to the top of the page when he might be checking something at the bottom. Worth adding pull to refresh?.Version: 3.11.0

Like this app but …I love that the app includes minerals and vitamims which is why I paid for it in the first place BUT I have to fact check the carb tracking all the time which always seems to be higher than what the label says. This is very annoying and I am considering moving over to another app as it is too time consuming to check and create custom foods..Version: 3.19.1

Good overall but upgrades neededDon’t get me wrong, this app and the database of foods is the most comprehensive out there. I’ve been using Cronometer for about a year now and it’s been perfect for tracking foods on the fly because I have confidence things are in the database and the data is accurate. The only thing that lets Cronometer down is the loading issues. Quite often I find the app hangs or takes forever to load when I have a secure connection and other data loads quickly. Not sure if Cronometer just needs to upgrade their server bandwidth or something but it can be very annoying at times..Version: 3.3.5

Life-changing appFantastic way to see whether you’re giving your body all the nutrients it needs - not from tablets but wonderful food..Version: 3.10.1

From My Fitness Pal to CronometerI was using the free version of MFP for 2 years but never really stuck with it. But with Cronometer, even just the free version is AMAZING. It shows you the nutrient breakdowns and percentages of vitamins and everything. I love it cuz I’m a visual person and I can actually see what I’ve eaten (as opposed to just calories). It’s aesthetically pleasing and the charts activate the part of my brain that wants to “complete” each part- especially protein which I’ve always struggled with eating enough of. There are still days I forget to log, don’t get me wrong, but Cronometer makes me actually want to track my food more often so I’m far more consistent (I average 4-5 daily logs a week!). Plus it makes me want to eat the amount of protein I should be eating to achieve my fitness goals (which it will ask u in the beginning when setting up ur account). Definitely worth using.Version: 4.9.3

It’s a great app, but it’s missing so many detailsIt’s a wonderful app and I love recording my daily meals and snacks, however many foods are mainly American and because I like in the UK they are missing a lot of food from here so I gotta add that to the log manually. I have also noticed that certain foods that I eat lack certain vitamins on this app and in unable to show; nonetheless the food or snack actually has higher vitamins than what is intended!! And I do nutrition, so I know this!!.Version: 3.0.16

Calorie Balance Calculation BrokenThe latest update has completely broken the Calorie Balance calculation (at least for those using Apple Watch). Refer to my email with full details and screen shots. I love this app, so hoping this bug will be fixed soon..Version: 4.16.1

The most accurate, but could use a little more featuresThis is the most accurate calorie tracker I’ve come across. I like that it’s not over flooded with inaccurate user entries. I like they finally added a dark mode. My favorite part is creating a recipe, and the app will automatically add the weight for the whole recipe so you can get it a good calorie count when measuring out your food. You don’t have to do a lot of math yourself to figure it out, the app does it for you. This is my go to app for tracking calories. I hope they continue to implement new features and maintain what makes this app great at the same time. Keep up the good work. Ps a widget would be cool to quickly add or scan something. Also a quick add feature for adding only calories quickly without having to log it..Version: 3.6.0

Lost its 5* with recent updateLove this app. I use it to track nutrients needed for my various health issues to make sure I can keep healthy and avoid medications. However the most recent update has lost one star for me. My main gripe is the custom recipe section which I use all the time. The function search is a pain as the search box goes away if it doesn’t find something you are searching for - usually when I mistype something. Also if you copy a recipe it doesn’t immediately appear in the list of recipes, and if you edit a recipe the changes don’t show up straight away. Looks like cache is not being cleared properly on the save. Hope these comments make their way back to the developers. Obviously not much user testing was complete before it was released!!.Version: 4.3.1

Top 3 reasons why this app is better than othersI’m genuinely impressed by this app for several reasons that make it stand out among others: 1. First and foremost, this app provides detailed micronutrient information. It goes beyond just displaying carbs, fats, and proteins, offering insight into your daily intake of essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamin E, vitamin D, vitamin C, copper, iron, magnesium, and zinc. This is crucial for anyone on a diet, as a calorie deficit can often lead to insufficient micronutrient consumption, which may hinder progress 2. The app makes calorie tracking a breeze. It displays your daily calorie total, as well as the breakdown of carbs, fats, and proteins consumed, right at the top of the screen. Unlike many other apps, there's no need to navigate to another page to find this vital information. 3. Lastly, the app boasts an extensive database of food nutrition facts. It incorporates data from reliable sources like the United States Department of Agriculture's National Nutrient Database (USDA), the National Coordinating Center for Food and Nutrition (NCCDB), and even databases from other countries, ensuring a comprehensive and accurate resource for users. All in all, this app is a must-have for anyone looking to manage their nutrition and make better choices when it comes to their dietary habits.Version: 4.5.1

Find food allergies, feel better, improve your lifeThis app is much more than a calorie counter. I input my meals and biometrics daily and then export the data every once in a while so that I can look for correlations between what I eat and how I feel. I’ve been able to make a few key correlations and change my eating habits accordingly. As a result, my sense of well-being is better. The application also allows me to monitor my nutritional intake daily to ensure I keep nutritional intake in check (fiber, fat, etc). It’s a great application that will make your life better if you put in the time. Get the app and use it, good luck!.Version: 4.16.1

So much potential!I’m a new user (Gold subscriber) and a WW convert. I love the emphasis on complete nutrition and the many ways to customize this tool, which I’m still learning! A couple of things that would make this app even better: 1) Give us a separate category in the Diary for Water intake (e.g. in addition to Supplements, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks) 2) The Fasting feature has a lot of room for improvement (standalone chart, reminder notifications, etc.) but a good place to start would be making the history easier to access. Currently it’s buried under four clicks: Settings/Targets/Fasting/ Fasting History. This is really cumbersome. Being a new user, I may be missing out on some tips & tricks so if anyone can educate me I’d welcome it! Also, if there is an opportunity to participate in your Beta program I’d love that! Thanks for the recent improvements and keep ‘em’ coming! EDIT: Coming back to share that I learned you can customize your Diary categories, so I added one for Water and that has worked well for me!.Version: 4.0.1

Useful for micronutrients but too many adsUseful app, doesn’t often have a lot of the Australian foods scanned in. Also have to wait for ads in the middle of entering foods in etc. Most useful function is tracking you mineral and micronutrient intake and it has an option for pregnant/breastfeeding woman..Version: 3.0.19

UPDATE Macros are right - but calories are wrongEdit: The cronometer team replied to my email and this review very quickly with a good explanation that not every gram of each macro has the same amount of calories. A quick google search basically says that the general rule is 4-4-9, but cronometer is right that this general rule isn’t the most precise. I’m glad to hear this, because this is my favorite tracker app. Thanks for getting back to me so fast! This is a glaring weakness in the app. I like that the sources for foods are barcodes and legit data sources, unlike myfitnesspal. I believe the macros are right. But the calories are incorrect! It’s 9 calories from each gram of fat, 4 calories per gram of carbs, and 4 calories per gram of protein. When you add up those categories from the macro columns, the “calorie” row has clearly undercounted. Why this is happening is unclear to me, but it’s a major weakness in the app..Version: 3.5.9

The best app for weight management!Cronometer provides so much more information than just counting calories. Set not only macronutrient goals but also micronutrients. Weight & health management that really helps you be your best. Highly recommend!.Version: 3.5.2

Love this app!Done this before and lost weight with it. Love the way you can track what your eating, adding your excerises to it to. Helped to work out what I was eating and how healthy it was, and to balance the fat/protein and carbs. And if I new was going out for dinner I’d do more excersise so could eat more. Don’t want to put weight on during lockdown, and can’t go to gym 😟 so back on it to keep me on track! Instead of spinning I’m bike riding and doing resistant band work outs, plus the dog walking! And back to being addicted to it again!! I have been eating some rubbish foods lately, so this has put me back on track! Lost 3lbs in a week, so thanks again!!!! April.Version: 3.3.9

Really usefulCronometer not only tracks your calorific intake but provides substantial information on the nutrients you gain from the food you eat every day—both macronutrients and micronutrients. The app allows you to add your own data (food products, units of measurement, etc) and also has a large database of food products already available for you to access, so that entering your food into the app is not as onerous as you might think. There’s much more to this app than that—and it’s easy to use too. Thanks!.Version: 3.5.1

Ex longtime myfitnesspal userThis app is a great alternative to myfitness pal, which i used for 3 years. I finally decided to switch when they made the barcode scanner a paid feature, then wanted to charge more than my gym membership every month. This app is almost as comprehensive as mfp, except for restaurants. Maybe it’s a region thing, but I can’t find anything for the restaurants I’ve tried. I don’t eat out a lot, so that’s not a dealbreaker, but it does annoy my wife when she’s ready to order and I’m still figuring out what fits my macros. I’m still on the free version, but for less than $10/month, I’m really tempted by the auto import function if it’s half as cool as it sounds. I may even subscribe just to pitch in towards this great nutrition tracker..Version: 4.9.1

Simply amazingBeen using this app for 100 days helps me out so much could not Recommend more👍.Version: 4.8.0

Enjoying the stAtsLove the extra information- but shame the food database isn’t big.Version: 3.1.0

Love this appI’ve been using Cronometer every day for a few years now. First on a laptop then switched to the app. Super easy to use, I like the nutrition reports and it’s pretty easy to add custom foods and find favourites. Can track exercise calories burned too..Version: 4.8.0

A great in-depth free trackerMy partner and I love this app, we use it to track our daily intake and plot it against recommended values, in particular vitamins and nutrients that other apps don’t check. I recommend this app as the best app for micronutrient tracking. There are a couple draw backs in the free version for us. One is the lack of an apple watch app/complication. I’d pay for the gold service to get information on my watch since no apps track the vitamins and micronutrients as well. I like that information in an easy format on my apple watch. The other drawback is that you have to subscribe to share recipes. Cronometer doesn’t support subscription sharing which is something I would purchase just for sending my saved foods to my partner. We don’t have a need for the other features offered in the gold plan, so the price is a bit too high for us to consider two subscriptions just to send a recipe to save one of us the time of typing in the ingredients. Their customer support has been great when I reported incorrect nutrition information in their database. Within a few hours, they corrected some products that had incorrect vitamin data and I was able to update my diary and see the changes before the day was over, which is important to me because I want to make sure I’m getting the recommended daily value of micronutrients in addition to the macros..Version: 3.6.2

Super good trackerHave to say this app does so much more than I anticipated. I like the interface, easy to understand and navigate and the kind of reporting and tracking I was after. Highly recommend..Version: 4.7.0

BETTER MYFITNESSThis app is Miles better than my fitness app. It's just much lighter and snappier feeling. I don't even write reviews like that but this app is gas. Its been one week and I lost 1kg. I'll probably get the gold subscription in a week or two. Not out of necessity but just purely to support the developers.Version: 4.6.2

Best Calorie CounterBeyond ease of use, the best thing for me about Cronometer is the fact that the food you enter is based on verified databases. No more salmon as 100 calories when it should be 300! I couldn’t stand that about other apps. The recipe feature is also top notch and awesome!.Version: 4.16.1

Works in NZ!I’m a kiwi and downloaded this from following Dr Mary Claire Haver (love her!) Couldn’t believe the app scans and has details on NZ and Aussie food! Makes it beyond easy to use and track my nutrients..Version: 4.11.2

GratefulGrateful this app exists and even more grateful that you’ve made it free of charge. Thank you for creating something that makes life so much easier and helps us reach our health goals. Love that you can add foods to be remembered and that the exercise component is tracked against intake.Version: 3.18.0

Great appCronometer is a great app for tracking eating, especially with Apple Watch integration. It would be great if an app for Apple Watch could be developed. Continue the great work!.Version: 3.19.0

Much better value than MFPI have had a My Fitness Pal but I ditched it for this one. The name is a bit offbeat but the features in the free version are great. I even considering buying gold to support the developers. Great value compared to MFP!.Version: 4.3.3

Amazing app!Now I’m aware of all the nutritional deficiencies I had and also realised that I was not eating enough. It’s cool to track your nutrition if you really care about your health. I like that the info is very detailed. This is helping me a lot with my Keto-ish diet!!!.Version: 3.2.1

CronometerAs far as I’ve seen Cronometer is the best app for tracking macros and micros. I haven’t used the premium version yet but am looking forward to when I can. The free version has everything you need. Unlike other apps the free version of Cronometer still allows you to see kcals consumed burned and remaining as well as a long very long list of micros. I’ve seen some people say it’s to much for beginners etc. I think for me it’s perfect. I can focus on what I know and if I see something I don’t know I can ignore it or I can look it up learn about how much of that I want/need to lose weight or bulk up and tweak my diet or eating habits to fit it better. The premium version has “the oracle” which I’m eager to get and use to find foods that fit my wants more specifically..Version: 4.8.0

Fantastic AppIn mid April(2020) I decided to lose some weight. After research to understand Macros better, I was recommended Cronometer by a friend. By early August(2020) I lost 22lbs to be back down around 155lbs. I’ve found this app to be very helpful, and easy to use. I use it every day..Version: 3.5.1

Needs improving.I do like the app, it’s great to see the nutrients that I’m actually getting. The main issue for me is I’m having to spend a lot of time entering all of the nutrients, since the vast majority of what I’m scanning isn’t recognised, it’s not just every other item, it’s more or less all of them..Version: 3.7.4

It’s pretty goodI am a gold member. While it’s fairly easy to use and I like that it’s accurate, I find that it’s constantly glitching lately. While I am sure they have so many requests, there have been quite a few products I have sent barcodes, labels and nutritional tables in for and they have never been added to the database which is very disappointing. Would love to see the the bugs fixed and the database be updated. Being in Australia, the database isn’t great but I generally am able to get most things logged..Version: 2.3.5

The bestI have been using various trackers for years but probably MyFitnessPal was the one I used longest for various reasons . A friend of mine recommended me trying cronometer and for a few months I used multiple apps simultaneously to see what’s best for me . Chronometer is the best by far , for me 👍.Version: 4.9.1

Excellent App and website.I’m a relatively new Vegan (since Christmas 2019) and so my nutrition is very important to me, I don’t want to be deficient in essential nutrients so I wanted to somehow track exactly what was in the food I was eating. Cronometer is exactly that resource. It has an extensive database of food items (not just plant based) and an extremely efficient search engine that, more often than not, finds exactly which food you enter and shows an instant breakdown of all the nutritional information that it contains. It syncs to the Heath app on my iPhone and Apple Watch and keeps a running total of my targets and goals throughput the day. Because of the clear way it is presented I can see at a glance where I might not be meeting my daily recommendations and can instantly eat something to balance that deficit.(The app even makes a suggestion which food would be an optimum choice). There are too many features and advantages for me to mention here, suffice to say I think it’s a great and invaluable resource as far as I’m concerned and living, as I do, on an extremely challenging budget I get all these benefits from the free download and website. Thank you Cronometer team, you are directly impacting upon my Plant Based Whole Food journey in the most positive way. Ian Sharrock County Durham, UK..Version: 3.4.1

AwesomeI Love this App. It helps me stay on track with my daily goals and lets me know if I need to up something in my diet. Thanks for the hard work that went into this app. Only two things to work on. Firstly, the ads. But I understand why you have them. Secondly, when I try to add a new item there is no button the save the food item. For example, a tried to add a peanut butter I use and it wasn’t on the app. When I filled out all the dietary information and serving size there is no way to save it. Unless my iPhone is the issue..Version: 3.6.0

SO GOOD! Has impacted my body too!I can now feel like I can say “I get it” when it comes to nutrition and how what I eat CARVES OUT MY IDEAL BODY. This app whilst initially I felt was time consuming, is now MEGA RAPID for me to log everything I eat on a daily basis. My trick is that before I eat something I log it first and then go ahead and enjoy the food! Love it! Thank you.Version: 4.8.0

Perfect tool for weightless assistance!I’ve been overweight for a long time and have tried many tools to help me lose weight. Some helped some were completely useless, but Chronometer has been an invaluable tool. I’ve lost 60 lbs in the last 12 month. Being able opt not only track your daily calorie intake, but keep track of your daily nutrition has been huge help towards healthy weight loss. It’s also incredibly easy to use with the majority of foods I’ve come across being in their massive database or easy enough to add just by scanning barcodes. Since my weight loss and become more into a healthy lifestyle I have managed to get my certification as a personal trainer and definitely will recommend the use of the app to my clients. Remember everyone that you can meet your goals if you keep your mind to it and there’s tons of tools to help you with Chronometer being a prime example!.Version: 4.9.3

Love this AppI have had VSG surgery and this app is so helpful. It gives you everything you need from the times when you eat, to full nutritional information, the ease of use, and the reports are so detailed to pass on to your doctor and or nutritionist. I do not usually buy apps but very glad I did with this one. Highly recommend!!.Version: 3.0.20

Food tracking made easyApp links directly to my whoop, make managing my weight east.Version: 4.12.0

In Love!!The features on this app are way better than any I have tried in the past, and they are FREE! Unless you want a diet plan, which in my opinion is fairly priced, you don’t spare a cent! You get to calculate your exercise, and it automatically subtracts from your goals. the calories aren’t overwhelmingly in your face for those with a history of emotions around food. It’s so simplified and accessible! One of my favorite features is the recipe input-it makes it easy to calculate baked goods correctly for those of us who are bakers, and I was so happy to discover such a feature. I am a type one diabetic trying to calculate and track carbs to get a better understanding and control of my blood sugar. I am also somebody who has struggled with weight for a lot of my life as well as body image issues, but I am using this app for my benefit, not to impress others. Finally, there are many more foods listed, vitamin and mineral details, and a data tracker so you can look back and easily find the tools to progress. What a clean design! I feel so lucky to have come across it!.Version: 3.5.8

Great app by an awesome teamThis app is great but the team supporting it is awesome! Anytime I notice that an item is missing a nutritional value, I use the Report a Problem feature in the app. I always receive a prompt response from the support team informing me that they updated the missing nutritional values..Version: 4.13.1

Great appI’m a paid subscriber of this app, and for good reason; it’s excellent and the price very reasonable! It’s great to be able to track micro nutrients as well as macros and have it calculate my BMR from Apple Health stats and take into account the day’s activity from my Apple Watch. It’s helped me to see where I’m missing things in my diet so I can take steps to rectify and has helped me get closer to hitting my daily macro targets. I used MyFitnessPal for the same thing before but it just doesn’t do the job as well as Cronometer. The web interface is great too. My only gripes are that the app’s performance could use some improvement. Restrictive “loading” modal pop ups could be removed with updates running in the background etc. Sometimes it totally freezes and I have to kill the app and launch again, but these issues are not enough for me to look for something else. I’d like to be able to use formulas to calculate macros based on various stats also. Not sure how viable that is but just a suggestion. Overall great app and I can’t wait to see what features come next..Version: 3.4.6

BiologistMy nutritionist told me to use Cronometer because I lost so much weight and they want me to put weight back on. My use of Cronometer has impressed my visiting nurse and my visiting dietitian because of how flexible it is and how much information you can control with Cronometer. Two young gentleman that work at a supplement and powder protein store and are also personal trainers were very impressed because you can also track your alcohol consumption and water intake with Cronometer, that’s just in the basic free software. I am a biologist by trade, I know to gain weight you have to eat more calories than you’re burning. To lose weight you have to burn more calories than you’re eating cronometer is a very easy way to track your calorie intake. You can enter the name of foods or if it’s a packaged product you can scan its barcode and most of the products you buy are already in the program. I am going to purchase Cronometer Gold which gives you more than the free program..Version: 3.2.0

Great appI have the Gold Subscription and this app is fantastic. Tracks all micronutrients & macros. Very detailed info (better than MFP) totally worth it. Even the free version is great! They also respond really quickly to fix any issues within the app if you tweet them etc. A+.Version: 2.2.2

Critical BUG - now fixedOn my ipad the advertising now covers the entries in the Diary. This makes the App useless as I cannot see my food entries. Developers are aware of the problem. I’ll give the app 5 stars when the change is done. It is a brilliant app however this bug does seriously impact it. 16 Aug. Just uploaded the new version and bug is fixed. Thanks Dev team..Version: 3.5.1

Entering food quantity gets you your nutritional intake infoI love this app! It is a one stop shop that helps in so many ways. Understanding my nutritional food values has been helpful to know. I can modify to be closer to getting all my nutritional bag each day. It is also super fast and easy when it comes to scanning bar code labels. I am grateful that this app is connected to Diet vs. Disease program. I believe it will be a game changer for my gut health! Thank you to those who created it..Version: 4.10.0

3.10.4 update issuesThe app has been working fine since first installing over six months ago, but the latest update (3.10.4) to my phone no longer communicates with the Apple Health app. Therefore it does not import exercise data. The Cronometer app still connects to the Cronometer website - if I add data to the website it updates on the app. The other variable in this - the Apple Fitness app, which sends data from the Watch to the app and to the Health app - is still working. So, the problem seems to be that the Apple Health app and the Cronometer app are not communicating..Version: 3.10.4

ExcellentI am studying nutrition and find this app simple and elegant for tracking macro and micronutrients. The information on the functions and sources of nutrients is really helpful. The ability to add foods and recipes is really useful. I have only used the free version so far. The app would be perfect if you could add profiles and food diaries for other family members..Version: 3.7.0

Everything I need and more but still simple to useLove your app, it is amazing and easy to use for how configurable it is! It’s doing everything I need right now and capable of much much more if my needs change in the future. Love the reports and customizable goals but my favourite feature is how the barcode scanner saves me tons of time tracking new foods..Version: 4.11.1

PerfectIt was perfect… perfect. Everything, down to the last minute details..Version: 4.16.1

Love this app!!!Great app, I’ve even using it for over 3 years now and this is the only app I use to track my nutrition intake. No bugs, works great, very simple to use👌👍.Version: 4.11.2

This App has been amazing.I highly recommend this app for tracking food. The breakdown of nutrients I’m getting and more importantly, not getting was very enlightening. Once you can see problems areas which are easy to see in Cronometer you can make positive changes..Version: 3.0.16

EmpoweringI love this app because I’ve never really understood nutritional information on the back of the food packet. Now Im starting to get it. It feels empowering to track and calculate what I eat and whats in the food I eat. This app has helped me choose to eat the foods I need instead of eating random whatever. Helps me track exercise which keeps me accountable. The daily diary and daily graphs are awesome. The user experience is thought out and intuitive. Barcode scanner is an awesome feature. Would like to see improvement to the goal settings, so like calculating macronutrient goals. It works super well but also feels a bit of a guesstimate, I want more certainty that I’m tracking towards accurate goals/needs regarding weight/muscle and carbs/protein. This is a hard problem but even making it easier to access and review these goals would be handy..Version: 3.7.5

Great appVery in depth, great options. Recommend.Version: 3.23.4

Great app but the recent update broke the widgets on the Home Screen, the styling looks very weirdTitle.Version: 4.13.1

Best app for tracking nutritionsI love this app, easy to use and huge database. Love to scan code and find product instantly..Version: 3.3.9

Excellent Tool to Keep Check on Your NutritionI am 75 yrs. old and have about 10 lbs to lose as the Coronavirus epidemic has been tough. We have been basically locked down since early March since I was fighting it off in early March. I have an excellent immune system & could tell I was fighting something it’d never fought before. It took a good month & a half before I knew I had won my battle, but was shocked that it took more than 3 mos. to get my strength back. Needless to say, with less activity & a bit of depression that I couldn’t be as active as normal—I started eating more “feel good foods”! Here came the lbs marching in. I had used Cronometer in the past to lose weight, but thought my old iPad couldn’t handle so much memory. It was slowing down, so deleted all I could on it. Wrong! I have it back on now and am slowly losing the damage done. It is very easy to use, really helps you know how much nutritious foods you are eating, and it’s free unless you want more. I’m very pleased with it & if you need support, it’s there. Excellent tool for weight loss or maintenance. I’d give it 10 stars if I could..Version: 3.5.2

Best App for tracking calories EVER!I have searched for many apps to track my calories but apps such as MyFitnessPal are very limited and only work brilliantly after paying for a subscription. However, this is where Cronometer comes in. This app allows me to track my calories on a day to day bases easily. It has a scanning feature that is free to use (unlike the other apps) and it also estimates the amount of calories I burn depending on how active I am. I could go on and on about how great this app is but I will probably end of writing for a very long time so this is as short as a could make it. If this is not enough to convince you that this app is the GOAT, then I guess there is only one way to find out and it is downloading. Trust me after you download it, you won’t regret it..Version: 4.9.1

Great app but in need of a couple fixesI love the faster and easier use in finding ingredients in this app to list macros BUT there are three things I find annoying. 1.) At times a save doesn’t immediately save what I just added to a recipe (uber annoying!). 2.) Other times a save somehow doubles my recipe with the ingredient listings shown twice so then I have to go back and delete the duplicates. 3.) In the process of deleting these duplicates, hitting the “x” often ends up opening the ingredient screen rather than deleting the ingredient. I think the “clickable” area for the button needs to altered so there isn’t app confusion in deleting the listing rather than opening the listing. OR, change the ability to delete a listing with a swipe or a check box on the left or right in the programming end so deleting ingredients doesn’t become frustrating. Otherwise, I like that the app already calculates net carbs..Version: 3.3.2

Genuinely my favourite app of all time everHow on earth is this app free? It is genuinely, hands down the best app on my phone by some distance. I was doing some research on apps that log macro nutrition and it was between Cronometer and another one. I initially went with the other app and within three minutes had deleted it and downloaded Cronometer instead. A week in and I am hooked. A pleasing interface, brilliant UX and an app overall that just works. I can't tell you how much I love Cronometer. If you're looking to take your body to the next level and need to seriously count your macros, then oh my goodness, look no further than this one. It really is the bees knees..Version: 3.22.3

Loving this app! Have some suggestions…I have been really blown away by how thorough this app is in comparison to others. It seemed like all that was out there were ways to count calories, which I’m not interested in at all. I have had some trouble the last few years managing some recent health changes and despite working with a holistic doctor for a time, the work and understanding really needed to come from me. I’m no expert when it comes to nutrition, but I’ve sure tried to learn how to eat healthy given my dietary limitations. I thought I was doing well when I found this app. I was feeling okay, having more good days than bad days. Started logging my meals on the app, and it’s really opened my eyes to how unbalanced my diet still actually is, and would explain why I still have “bad” days. What an extremely helpful tool Cronometer is, seriously, it has brought such clarity to my diet. I am extremely grateful! My only suggestion would be that I wish I could customize the “suggest food” section to better fit my limitations (gluten free, lectin free, MTHFR gene mutation, anti inflammatory, etc) because I am also not the best at creating meals, so that section I would find very helpful. Maybe Cronometer could add a way to customize it based on your diagnosis? Just a thought..Version: 3.23.2

It’s GoodJust recently started counting calories and all that jazz and currently just using the free version of this and it’s great. I’m all new to this but this actually helps a lot I will be upgrading to subscription soon..Version: 4.10.0

Solid trackerI’ve been using Cronometer for two years and it’s consistently good. More accurate than most and an easy to use database. The search engine could use an upgrade but overall very good..Version: 4.8.0

Love the app, very convenient… until it’s brokenUnfortunately, there’s been yet another new update… and now exercise from my Withings scanwatch gets imported twice (instantly, the moment it appears, there’s two instances)… It throws off the daily calories. Hope it gets fixed soon, as it’s quite annoying having to manually delete duplicate. Another annoying thing is the app freezes frequently (usually when adding food or if you pull to refresh… have to be quite careful if I scroll not to pull accidentally as it freezes…)—————————————- Used to love the app but it’s buggy and food can now only be entered for “today“. It seems they broke the “plus” button and now it doesn’t take into account which diary day you’re in. This makes the app useless since I’ll have to login to the site or scramble to enter everything before midnight….Version: 4.6.4

So helpful (edit)This app has helped me so much and it’s so good but can I suggest that we should have shared recipes and we should be able to see and edit the ingredients to our liking if we’re using it Thank you so muchhhh Edit: let’s say that you add in a recipe called ‘stir fry vegetables’ I think it would be useful to show us the ingredient list so we can see which type of veggies are used in this mix on the app compared to the mix that we just ate, and let us edit the list so we can change some of the ingredients to the ones that we ate to make it more accurate!! I just got the gold subscription last night!!.Version: 3.7.3

Perfect for my needsThis is the best macro tracking app that I’ve ever used and I’ve tried many of them. I love the Energy and Macronutrient target bars, as they are very easy to read (nice color coding and I like that they are bars and not circular graphs). I was also able to manually enter my own Calorie/Macro targets which is great. Also, having the Micronutrient breakdown is a huge bonus. The last app that I used did not have this feature and it is so helpful to be able to visualize my vitamin and mineral consumption. The search feature is amazing! The database is extremely large and I’ve had zero issues finding the foods that I’m looking for. I absolutely love the barcode scan feature. The diary is great; Having it right below the targets is really convenient and easy to read. It allows you to scroll through past days or to drag/drop foods if you need to organize your entries. Honestly, I could go on and on about all of the reasons why I love this app but what I love most is that it is simply a place where I can track my foods and it’s not full of a million unnecessary bells and whistles. This is an especially great app for those who are familiar with tracking macros and want something simple; but it is just as easy to use for someone who is just starting out. Thank you for this wonderful app, I am so glad to have found it!.Version: 3.5.8

Great App but INAPPROPRIATE adsI have been using Cronometer and it’s been great... the ads have never bothered me until today when a FREAKING PORN AD came on and wouldn’t allow me to skip it. I am so shocked. It was so lame kind of cartoon porn story thing and I’m so disgusted and disappointed. If I was around a child or even if a child/teen was using this app and that ad popped up, a YOUNG child does NOT need to see those things. Especially if you can’t even skip it or close it out until the full 10 seconds. I had to sit there watching cartoons having sex over my morning breakfast. I’m very upset and concerned for parents who have children using apps. If that kind of ad could make its way into a nutrition tracker, I can’t even imagine what kids are seeing in their game apps..Version: 2.3.5

6/5 starsEverything MyFitnessPal has for their ridiculous subscription fee - for free! Scan barcodes, count calories - it has everything I need. If you’re really into counting macros or other things you may need the subscription, but the basic functionality is quite a bit and meets all my needs. THANK YOU for this awesome app!.Version: 4.15.0

Loving it & learnt slot about what to eat as a new veganGreat app to actually see what you are eating and drinking every day and the make up of your diet - got me eating more kale and oranges and gave me alot of clarity about supplements - is B12, calcium, vitamin B & D etc on a new vegan diet due to a serious accident and heart issues. Great to have some solid data on what you eat, drink and exercise every day..Version: 3.3.7

A valuable tool for weight lossMy spouse and I have been using Cronometer for almost 90 days., The pounds have come off, nearly effortlessly. Yes, it's work to track everything I put in my mouth, but the app makes this process relatively easy with an ability to scan labels, and develop custom recipes for foods we enjoy regularly. And seeing where I am with my daily calorie goal makes it easier to say yes or no to a late evening snack. It is also interesting to track key nutrients, and even some of the more obscure nutrients. For those interested in improving their health, this app is a valuable resource. If you want to lose weight, this app and the information it provides in real-time, coupled with a measure of will power, really works. Coupled with a fitness tracking device like an Apple Watch, this app becomes a very powerful motivator..Version: 4.8.0

Excellent app and gold-standard customer serviceI’ve been a subscriber for a couple of years. This app is probably the one I use most. The interface is excellent and adding new foods is easy. As I cook most of my food from scratch the real bonus for me is having the capacity to add and amend all my recipes. I had a technical hitch recently where the app on my phone wasn’t working very well. It was eventually resolved and is working perfectly again. I appreciate being given a discount on my annual subscription as a gesture from the owners. Also a big thanks to customer service person extraordinaire Aki for all their support. I highly recommend the subscription if, like me, you are a little bit obsessed with tracking your daily nutrition and fitness performance..Version: 3.24.3

Better than my fitness pal for importing and using your own recipesMuch more detailed in nutrient info. Can import sleep and more data such as glucose. Excellent. I have upgraded to gold and will drop my fitness pal premium.Version: 4.11.2

Nutritional information incorrectI would like to give this app 5 stars however the nutritional information is never correct. I have a packet of noshu blondies sitting in front of me, the carb count is 4.2. The chronometer tracker has the carbs at 11.4 per serve. It took me a while to figure it out, whoever entered this into the database has added the total carbs plus the fibre plus the xylitol together to get the carb count. This is ridiculous, why would you add total carbs and fibre together to get the total carbs. The carb count is out for most foods which is frustrating because then I have to enter the food as a custom food. Also when I try to get the nutritional count of regular food like fruits and vegetables i am lucky if I get one normal result, the rest of the list is just processed rubbish food. I guess the American diet is full of rubbish plastic food so the database reflects that..Version: 3.5.3

Extensive food logI've been using Cronometer for almost 10 years on and off. It's the best food logging app I've used. It has extensive food data and counts over 80 nutrients resulting in a complete nutritional analysis. And to make it better the free version gives you all you need with little ads to disrupt the experience. The paid version adds practical features (separating foods by meals) but nothing that affects the analysis per se. Also, it can be customized quite a lot (hidding calorie balance, personalized goals, weight gain or loss or maintain, etc) ..Version: 4.9.1
