Ok but needs some improvementsI LOVE their coffee… which they would have more options for blended coffee or even just bring back the birthday cake one. But my problem with the app is the fact that I’m lactose intolerant and I really only like the blended coffees. I can’t order them through the app because almond milk is not an option for me to select when or ding my drinks. So I have no choice but to order at the store when I get there. It’s fine but it would be nice since I’m already paying through the app to earn points to just be able to order that way also. So please take in some consideration of people like me to give us more ways to customize our drinks in the app. Thanks!.Version: 3.0.0

Update it bad, don’t download update full of bugs,The first release is bad you have to update your birthday year. It starts out at 1111 then you have to scroll it to get to your birthday to whatever year you were born and you could be born on 2859 if you want, location it won’t find your location right, may show up and try again for the fourth time, but then it won’t allow you to order from that location you’ll get, Oops sorry try again and it doesn’t work. Shame shame shame on the software developer for not testing there app OS 17.1 IPhone.Version: 4.0.2

No Gift Cards??For some reason, there is no way to add a gift card as part of your payment methods in the app. Are used to be able to do this but when the app updated there is no longer an option to add a gift card as a payment method. This is a big problem for me because I like to use the promotions in the app, but I am not able to if I am paying with a physical gift card that is not able to be loaded into the app. Also I wish syrup amounts could be customized. There’s too many pumps of syrup for me. SCOOTERS please fix this!!.Version: 4.0.3

Love it buttt…..Listen I love scooters so much, I go here very often.. but one thing that doesn’t make sense to me on the app? Why is it that you can add flavoring to EVERY type of drink… carmelicious, mochas, etc that have a bunch of flavoring… yet you CAN’T get a flavoring on iced lattes??? Makes no sense. I’ve been wanting to get an iced latte from here, yet there’s no way to add a flavor to it at all? Yet all these other flavored and sweet drinks you can add as many flavors to as possible? I would give you a chance but...Hey Scooter’s Coffee! I have no idea if you’ll ever see this, but I thought I’d give it a shot. I’m a 23 yo city gal who just jumped on the coffee-bandwagon and am looking for my loyal “spot” to frequent for a quick pick-me-up before or after work shifts. I’ve tried only a couple drinks from SC, but I’m in love. They’re so creamy and yummy! However, based on most of these reviews I’m really turned away from frequenting your shops due to the lack of a user friendly app. Right now I’ve been sticking with Dunkin’ because their app allows me to order ahead (I have pretty severe social anxiety, the pandemic hasn’t helped) which is essential for me when scouting out a new favorite spot. Anyways, thanks for reading this. I hope your team is reading the critiques and working on resolving them for the future. App has become worse and it was bad to begin with.We only go to Scooters because there is no Starbucks in town, or Dutch Bros, but their app has always been difficult to navigate and payment was weird because it made you “load” amounts instead of letting you just pay with the card on file or determine the amount you wanted to load. And it just got worse. Now when you pay it adds an auto tip onto the charge that you have to relive is there or you just pay more. Look, I am all for tipping for “Service” but to pump my brewed coffee out of the hotel style thermos you store it in is not service. And shouldn’t add an auto tip. That’s shady no matter how you slice it. Take a tip from your counter parts and maybe make some improvements to the app..Version: 4.0.2

Mess up drinkOnce again I ordered the matcha smoothie. No changes just plain straight off the menu. I got the drink and there was over half an inch below the top of the cup to the smoothie, it was dark green, and super thick. How this does not tip the drink maker off that they left something out I can never understand. It needed more “base” /creamy stuff. It tastes super strong of matcha, not creamy as it should. Why can’t the baristas make a drink off the menu with no changes and get it right? And when you pay $6 for a drink you want it right and a full drink. They short me on the drink all the time..Version: 3.0.0

Why wait to make it?I like the app a lot. It is easy to navigate and works well. The big problem, why is the drink not made until you actually arrive? The whole idea behind ordering ahead is so that you can be in an out but instead, you still have to wait on your drink and in line behind everybody else who walked in. Therefore, there is absolutely no benefit in using the order ahead feature on the app. If you think this is an important feature, to make sure the coffee is hot and steamy, give people the option. That would be awesome! For me, time is of the essence..Version: 3.0.0

Ok appGenerally speaking once you use it a few times it’s an ok app and does what you need it to do. However there are some things that are kind of stupid. Your order history just shows the total amount. Doesn’t show a detailed receipt of what you actually ordered. For that you have to go to your email. The other big thing that is kind of dumb, at least for me, is that some things are confusingly labeled. Wallet is where my credit card info and maybe order history should live. Maybe you should rename it to rewards? That’s what lives there now. This is one of those things that got me at first almost every time I ordered. I’d tap on that instead of the Pay/Earn button. Dangerous design flawThe app update looks pretty but has issues. I can’t purchase additional espresso shots into the beverages I used to, I get repeated alerts saying my order didn’t go through and to try again when I’m closer (meaning WHILE I’M TRYING TO DRIVE) and if I do try again it adds additional popups asking if I’m sure I want to order because I just made this order five minutes ago. You know, the order they said they couldn’t process. If I have to try and navigate an app while driving in order to use it, then the app isn’t worth it..Version: 4.0.2

Gift card serviceHello! I receive gift cards regularly for Scooters. I love the coffee so much but scanning things multiple times for points then to scan for gift card is a hassle, especially if the staff gets confused (a lot, even when I tell them). Please add the option to add the gift card to the app payments. Also, the order ahead option isn’t applicable if I can’t go through and have to wait for it to be made. It’s not convenient if I’m trying to get on with my day..Version: 4.0.2

No custom tip available when placing the order ahead on the app.I hate that I’m not able to give a custom tip when I order ahead of time on the app. and that it only allows up to a 20% tip. I mostly pay tips of anywhere between 50-75% because I appreciate the service I get. I don’t carry cash so my tips are always paid for on the app when I pay at the window. Whenever I preorder it only allows up to a 20% tip which only adds up to $2.73 on my order which I consider to be a slap in the face to the people who make my order. This needs to be fixed so we are able to make custom tips when ordering ahead of time!.Version: 3.0.0

Needs improvements to compete with competitorsLove scooter. Prefer it over other places, but app and rewards program needs some improvements to make it easier to navigate and to claim rewards. App isn’t user friendly so takes a lil bit to order. Previous orders are nice, but still kinda difficult. Disappointing and ConfusingI really wanted to like Scooters. It’s close to my house and I’d rather support something small and local. However, their app is wrong half the time and they nickel and dime you for everything. My favorite drink is cheaper at Starbucks, if you can believe that! - and Starbucks uses real whipped cream. I’m not surprised when a drive-thru uses canned whipped cream, but Scooters is an actual cafe. Why are you charging me .25¢ for whipped cream you don’t even make? On the app, you select a location and it gives you a menu. Turns out, though, some of the drinks that are in the menu have never been offered at my location. The baristas there don’t know why the drinks are listed as options. And it isn’t until you get to check out that an error pops up saying something “isn’t available”. This seems sloppy and definitely not customer-centric..Version: 3.0.0

Poor app…,poor customer serviceThis app has issues. At the Scooter store they say the app couldn’t scan, so we pay with cash only to find out that we did get charged…TWICE!!!! Reached out to the store, they say they can’t do anything so please contact corporate.. Corporate says to go to the store to resolve the over charge. Everyone is pointing fingers at the other or you could say the left hand does t know what the right hand is doing. They say customer satisfaction is their main priority, doesn’t seem that way to me. When you install the app, be sure to check the preload portion of the app as it it defaults to auto reload if your order is larger than what is in the wallet portion of the app. If and when we get our overcharged returned we will be deleting the app and will have to decide whether we will still visit Scooters. Worst part about it is that the store manager admitted they were having issues with the app. As a manager they should be able to resolve this issue otherwise what is her role as manager if she has no authority. App is still horrendous and needs workAfter years, this app has not gotten any better. It is the farthest from user-friendly and does not make it easy to pay and spend money at Scooters. It's cumbersome and restrictive. I still to this day can't believe you can’t load gift cards? There is no preload option. When I do have a reward I'd like to use it is not clear if it is charging my card or not. This app needs some major help. While loyal customers trudge through using it, it definitely is contributing to loss of some sales and does not make for happy Scooters customers..Version: 3.0.0

Caramelicious signature Drink / 2thumbs DOWNHello, my name is Antonio Alvarado and I can’t believe I’m actually going to write a review for Scooters Signature Drink. I’ve had this Signature Drink quite a few times from at least 3 to 4 different locations. I did this to see if the consistency was there no matter the location. To my chagrin, today was the first time that the Signature Drink was a complete let-down. Insert SAD FACE HERE. I ordered the Med. HOT CARAMELICIOUS just moments ago and the ingredients that make up this Signature Drink (caramel sauce, whipped cream and yet more caramel sauce) were amounts that were very upsetting. You could definitely say that the drink was made very hastily. It’s as if there were 10 cars in the drive through lane and the employees were trying to make drinks as quickly as possible. Another way of describing this would be as follows, “I couldn’t taste the love in the Signature Drink”. I said it that way because this is the Saturday before Valentines Day. Such a complete let-down this was. I tend to always order the Mango Smoothie as well, with 2 scoops of protein rom time to time but….. It had been a while since I had a Caramelicious so I figured it was time. Again, this was a complete left-down. You guys failed me on this trip..Version: 3.0.0

Poor Service and DrinksUnfortunately the last few times I have gone to Scooters the service was terrible and the Maple cold foam tasted like it had soured. I even had a friend try it to make sure it wasn’t me. And my peanut butter power had big chunks of ice . It had dripped over the side of the cup and the barista didn’t even wipe the cup down before giving it to me. I asked her to please wipe it down and she acted annoyed and grabbed napkins and gave me the messy cup and napkins to clean it myself. Sadly I’m not sure about returning.Version: 3.0.0

Way behind their competitionI downloaded this app specifically because I received a gift card in my email. Only to realize that the only payment option they allow to add is a credit card. They don't even have an option to use PayPal or Venmo... With how many stores they have popping up, they really need to improve their app. Their coffee is fantastic! But, this app is just archaic. I would've expected something this simple 10-15 years ago, back before electronic gift cards took off and companies like PayPal were popular... But, come on....Version: 3.0.0

Not very clearI can’t seem to find a way to add a beverage to my cart to order ahead, but there’s nothing telling me that it’s restricted or location based... I also spent time this morning trying to figure out how to use my preloaded funds and rewards. The app is a nice idea, but it needs some work or maybe just a little love from a UX writer to adjust the copy. Toggle rewards...? What is that? If you don’t have rewards, still show the toggle but disable it from use—- add language that will educate me on how/when I can use that feature. But by hiding the toggle or not including better language, I’m left wondering where I need to toggle (on rewards screen or on payment screen?) and generally feeling frustrated about how to use the app. The status screen is confusing. It should just go away and be replaced by the occasional reward in the rewards bucket. Drink names shouldn’t be statuses. Maybe silver or gold, etc?.Version: 2.0.9

Need more incentiveI stop almost everyday at scooters and am at carmalicious status. Their needs to be more rewards and also the smiles rewards for free drink expire too quick. You take our smiles if we don’t use them on a drink and we start over. Unlike Starbucks that let’s you build your stars and if you want to use them you can but they do give you 1 year. You should take some of what Starbucks does that makes their customers happy and adapt it to fit scooters. Cuz you have some pretty loyal customers that are dissatisfied with some of the service’s. No BenefitThis app has no benefit. You order on the app and then they wait to make it until you arrive. It takes longer to order on the app than just driving up and placing your order at the menu board. The workers spend more time searching for your order than it takes to order when you drive up. What is the point in ordering ahead if it saves no time? Also there is not a way to cancel your order. Got stuck in an extremely long line after ordering on the app. I wanted to cancel due to the long line but couldn’t. This app is basically just a rewards tracker..Version: 3.0.0

Rewards don’t always work even when you apply themRewards was toggled to “on” for the “free” small coffee on National Coffee Day. I got charged for it anyway. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with their app, either. As for the loyalty, they take “smiles” away, and way too quickly at that. So much for loyalty. Oh, and who sets up an app that uses a switch with gray and red? Depending on how you look at it, either gray or red could be on or off. If you’re going to use red, then pair it with green, not gray. Or better yet, maybe add text that says which one is on and which is off, right at the location of the slider so people will see it. This must have happened many times with this Scooters app, with many different users. Really bad design..Version: 2.0.9

Not enough incentivesThe app is easy to use and convenient. We visit a scooters everyday and for having “caramelicious” status there are barely any rewards besides a free drink every couple of weeks. A happy hour would be great or something of that sort especially for the loyal customers who visit religiously. When there are rewards it should cater to what people purchase for instance 1$ off smoothies has popped up but we have never and would never order smoothies. I’m strictly giving 3 stars because the incentives..Version: 2.0.9

Latest UpdateJust updated to the new app. Really not liking that it takes you out of the app to view nutrition information. It’s just adding extra steps. I’d much rather be able to see all that in the app as I’m trying to decide what I want and how that info changes when I change the size of my order or modify ingredients. Would also like to see more complete nutrition information (like sodium content). Also, not all items have nutrition information listed. (Noticed this right away on sugar-free drinks; they still have calories, which I’d like to know.) Really makes making healthier choices difficult. It also sounds like you’ll have to scan and pay at window as opposed to in app itself. I’m hoping I just misunderstood that part. So far, I think I liked the old app better. I haven’t really noticed an improvement yet..Version: 4.0.2

App needs work..I love Scooters coffee nothing bad to say about that, the app however could definitely use some work first off why can’t we add our gift cards in the app. Second the order ahead menu is limited as well as the customizations, third there’s no Apple Pay option. Order aheadI was so excited to see a mobile ordering function had been added to the app. I would drink Scooters every day instead of Starbucks if I could order ahead and run in and pick up my drink. Unfortunately, this new feature is useless. First of all, it doesn’t tell you until after you have placed an order, but they don’t make your drink and have it ready for you to run in and pick up. They instruct you to go to the drive thru, give them your name, and then they will make your drink. How is this different or more efficient than just ordering in drive thru? They claim it is so your drink is “fresh” but if I cared about whether or not my drink sat for 10 min I wouldn’t order ahead. The point of this feature is convenience and this adds zero convenience to the customer experience. On top of that, they still messed up my drinks when I literally entered in exactly what I wanted. I work in product marketing and I am just dumbfounded at the poor UX of this rollout. How much user testing did they do before they launched this? Scooters—if you want to be competitive with the bigger companies like Starbucks and Dunkin then fix the digital and operational issues or you’re going to get left behind. Your drinks are better but the convenience and access is just as, if not more, critical to get right..Version: 3.0.0

Needs work on the paymentI loved the old app from a couple of years ago where I could load a gift card and not have to keep a credit card on file just to use mobile payment. I would just reload that when I wanted more funds. So after a very long time of not using the app at all and frankly not going to Scooters much because of it, I moved to a town where it’s one of few options, so I decided to try again. I set it up so I would preload and saved my preferences to manually add funds. Well, it keeps changing back and auto preloading funds. This is why I didn’t want my card in there in the first place. I’ll be deleting my card and the app. 😖.Version: 3.0.0

Needs improvementThere are a couple things I think could better this app. 1 to order the flavor of the day, it should list what the flavor of the day actually is. 2 the London fog is no where on the menu, I can order this at any location but it’s not on the menu so cannot be ordered through the app. 3 there’s a lot of scooters locations that aren’t on the app… I’m sure there’s a reason for this but it doesn’t make it truly convenient if all locations aren’t listed.Version: 3.0.0

I receive gift cards as gifts and pay exclusively on the app, unless I have a gift card. It adds an extra step to scan the app and then pay separately and is just plain inconvenient.
