PhotoScanIl.Version: 1.5.1

Great results given how quick it is to use - adjust corners feature needs workAdjust corners was working well - but now displays as black (seems flaky)?.Version: 1.5.1

Cropping: Zoom crosshairs half transparentGenerally, a very good product which seems to work best with indirect sunlight. Lately, whilst cropping photos I found that the zoom crosshairs were not fully transparent. This made the process next to impossible to complete and create a good result..Version: 1.5.1

Trouble usingJust installed this app and find it hard to position the circle over the dots in the few seconds available. Also once scan is completed there is no ‘DONE’ button to go back to home page. Where is it??? Disappointed so far….. app used on my iPad Pro..Version: 1.7

Easy scanning but terrible qualityThe UI on this app is very simple and makes it incredibly easy and fast to scan your photos. It corrects the perspective and colors of the photo very well. Unfortunately, the resulting image is very grainy and well below the resolution that my iPhone takes photos. I tested a photo scanned in this app vs. taking a normal photo in the native Camera app and when you zoom into the details the difference is night and day. The image quality that this app saves in will be fine if you just want to share it on social networks or other low-res applications. However, if you’re like me and want to archive old photographs in a high-quality digital form without a traditional scanner, then you’ll have to look elsewhere..Version: 1.5.1

Works but has major issuesFreezes CONSTANTLY. Also why can’t I take all the photos I take and transfer them to my gallery on my iPhone? I have to send each picture individually to my gmail then save it to my phone. For some reason on my iPhone it won’t let me select all photos and transfer them to my gmail then save them to my gallery. Btw I have well around 50-60 pictures that I’m trying to get from physical to digital with this app and doing each picture individually through gmail then saving it from gmail to my gallery is majorly time consuming. Could have easily by passed this by adding a select all button and then a save all to phone gallery option..Version: 1.5.1

Good for quick solution but only temporaryIf you need to scan something quick before getting chance to get to a scanner, this app will do. However it’s no replacement for an actual scanner, having much lower resolution. It does do the advertised job of removing glare very well - at the cost of the scanned image having an obvious yellow colouration. An additional editing app will be needed to correct the colour and return it to original colours, however bare in mind the final result will be much lower quality and much lower resolution than just taking a normal photo with your basic camera app..Version: 1.5.1

POORLY DESIGNED APP NOT FIT FOR PURPOSEThe app scans ok although it significantly decreases the imagine quality, which is particular frustrating since most of the photos being scanned are very old and therefore not the best quality to begin with. Once you have scanned them and go to save them to your phone, naturally you would assume you can save directly to your camera roll- but no. They have made it extremely inconvenient to save the photos. I have to save it to my google drive, which is extremely slow at uploading, then email it to myself, then screenshot the images from my email app then crop them all. Not sure who’s job it was to decide not to add a ‘save to camera roll’ button on this app but I highly recommend firing them for this extreme oversight.Version: 1.5.1

Gone down hillI LOVED this app when it first released. It was perfect. The photos were hi res, crisp, no glare, and it cropped the images perfectly. But it has come down over the years. Now, my images constantly have glare unless I have just the right lighting in the room. And even then, I still have to ignore small glares. The pictures seem to be fuzzy now. Sometimes it better to just take a normal picture with my iPhone camera app. The biggest headache now is that the magnifying glass tool that you use to crop the images is completely broken (displays just a black dot). This makes it impossible to accurately crop your images. Makes it impossible to conveniently crop them at all. It’s so fiddly. Judging by the fact that this app hasn’t been updated in over 4 years, my guess is Google stopped caring. Such a bummer..Version: 1.5.1

Won’t open on iPhoneThis app no longer works on iPhone running IOS 14.1 or above. It would not even open!.Version: 1.5.1

Love it but there is a glareI love this software but there is a glare and the lighting of the photo changes to a yellow tint. Would not recommend if these changes are not made..Version: 1.5.1

Awesome App... includes suggestion(s)This app is very good and I have tried several including both phone based and also a flatbed scanner. It removes glare very well from both satin and glossy photos. It seems to auto correct for faded color which eliminates a post scan step. The auto cropping is also good. The two suggestions would be 1) To allow an auto create of an album. 2) To allow the capture of some notes along with the picture. But these two things are minor and can also be handled after the fact. Modified Review: the final resolution is pretty low... several other apps do significantly better... I stand by the review above... it is easy to use and does a good job of removing glare, however, the current final resolution does not allow for a good display on a full sized monitors which is should be table stakes for type of app..Version: 1.4.1

InformationGreat to scan old photos but how do I get instructions to use it properly.Version: 1.5.1

How do you import photos?What a garbage UI.Version: 1.7

GlitchyGreat app but it keeps exiting out of the app lately when trying to scan.... was brilliant when I first got it but since iOS has had some updates the app is constantly crashing..Version: 1.5.1

GarbageG should stand for Garbage, because thats what Google is able to produce. This a stupid app, you have to move around your phone 4 times and then it combines pictures. I tried it on 36 photos and the quality varried; some had glare, others were auto cropped incorrectly. You can do much better with the PDF Scanner by Readdle. It has more features and lets you export as JPEG..Version: 1.4.1

Keeps freezingIt’s a good app to scan photos but it keeps freezing on me..Version: 1.5.1

GoodI like this app but I can’t work out why I can seem to send a whole document or a back page without sending each one in separate emails. Very frustrating..Version: 1.5.1

Good to prevent light reflection but the corner adjustment is getting my nervesThe “four corner light capture” is good to prevent light reflection, especially if you are taking some product photos with plastic packaging. But the automatic corner detection is not human. Most of the time I need to leave extra space for framing but the automatic corner cutting function will bounce back my request. 🙄.Version: 1.5.1

New version started crashing a few months agoGoogle updated this app a few months ago so that it automatically syncs with your photo library. Now whenever I attempt to manually edit the corners of the captured image, the app crashes when updating the photo in my iOS photo library. After that the app is never useable again. It crashes every time I reopen it and this behavior survives through force-quitting the app and reboots. The only way to get it to work again is to uninstall and reinstall. Of course if you ever edit a photo manually again you’re back in the same boat. So frustrating and disappointing. I keep the app on my phone in hopes that someday Google will issue an update to fix it! This used to be one of the most useful apps I’ve ever had..Version: 1.5

Great app to a pointApp was working really well until I reached around 100 photos. Following this every time I go to scan the app closes. I have deleted old apps and increased storage but issue keeps occurring. I cannot find a solution on google to tell me how to fix ?.Version: 1.5.1

App super slow on iPhone 6App super slow to switch between functions..Version: 1.5.1

Unable to openUnable to open , when tried opened a symbol appears.Version: 1.0

Keeps crashingOn iOS 11/ 6+. App keeps crashing. I take a photo, eventually a circle appears and it says position it. But there are no circles to position it on. Then the app crashes..Version: 1.5.1

Handy but a scanner is betterAt first this seemed a very quick and easy way of converting prints to digital images. After doing several using my iPhone SE 2020 I decided to do a comparison with scans from my 10 year old Canon MG5350 printer/scanner set at a fairly low quality of 300dpi. The Canon knocks spots off the Google App in quality but the process is slower. If you don’t have a scanner then the Google App is certainly worth trying. And it’s free but it does pester you for access to your photos, the App doesn’t need that but Google want to know as much about you as they can..Version: 1.5.1

Crashes on openingThis app no longer opens. Crashes immediately. I’m running the latest version of IOS on my IPhone XS.Version: 1.5.1

Easy but not great qualityThis app is definitely the easiest way to "scan" a bunch of old photos without glare. But compared to just taking a regular photo with my iPhone camera app or using a real scanner, this app often gives lower quality results - subtle brightness and color gradations are lost and fine details get blurry. If you just need to scan a photo once in a while, I think you're better off using the camera app and be careful to avoid glare - and if you have a lot of photos to scan, consider sending them to a scanning service; you'll get the best results at maximum convenience (yes you could also buy a scanner but you probably have better things to do than spend days just scanning and tweaking photos)..Version: 1.5.1

Easy to use but poor quality photosThis app is so easy to use but the quality of the photos produced is pretty poor. I am using an iPhone 6s and good daylight lighting but the photos are very low res and blotchy looking. Really disappointed as I thought this would be a quick and easy way to digitise some of my old photos with good quality results. I wasn’t expecting anything amazing but what I got was seriously lacking. Such a shame..Version: 1.5.1

Beware of costsI wanted this for a specific purpose and signed up for free 3 day trial with £8.99 per month. I knew I would be cancelling it straight away but when I went into the subscriptions to cancel it I was shocked to see an option for £2.29 a month - if you don’t look at your subscription pages and were paying for this on an ongoing basis this is invaluable. The app itself is good but i rated it down for ripping customers off..Version: 1.5.1

No longer works properly with the latest iOSGoogle have clearly forgotten about this product as the corner adjust no longer works properly in the latest iOS releases.Version: 1.5.1

Unable to download the AppAfter scanning a few days of old photos. Suddenly, the app just stop. I reload it again but unable to do it. Otherwise this is a good free app for scanning old photo to save earth and space..Version: 1.6

Pretty decent appI like this app, a lot actually. It does a good job of removing glare, but you still have to have good lighting otherwise some parts of the photo will be brighter than others. But I might just be noticing that bc I like to edit photos and can run into problems if a photo doesn’t have consistent lighting. But even with that I would still give this app five stars, except that isn’t the only issue that I’ve been having. About half the time that I’m trying to do a scan the app just quits and I am sent to my homepage. I’m wondering if this is bc I have an older phone ? I Have an iPhone 6? So is it possible that this app isn’t compatible with my phone. I’m going to give this app 3 stars, only because if it takes me 3 tries to get one scan without the app mysteriously quitting then that def leaves areas for improvement . However if I hear from support on this app who can help me resolve my issue then I will change my rating to five stars. I’ve already tried deleting and reinstalling the app once before..Version: 1.5.1

UnreliableIt Keeps crashing. Doesn’t recognise corners of photos, especially those of old photographs, which is at least one of its principal uses. Having to reset the corners of virtually every photo scanned makes the exercise hugely frustrating and time consuming. And there is no flash option on one of the 2 iPads (same generation) which is bizarre..Version: 1.5.1

App freezes constantlyWhen it works it does a good job but unfortunately it constantly freezes. I also have no idea how to move the scans from the app to save on a hard drive..Version: 1.5.1

Scanned but no way to share with Google photosI downloaded this app yesterday & spent hours scanning old photos. Thought it would be easy to upload to google photos or to my pc. How wrong was I, I have spent hours googling how to do this. Ie. click on the 3 dots which has select - only option is to delete, send feedback or Help. Seriously have wasted so much time to know have to redo it all again. Will try to delete and reinstall as my last option :(.Version: 1.5.1

Was great at first but now just keeps crashing!I used this for around 2400 photos and it worked fantastically, was very impressed and would have left a 5 star review at the end, but now every other picture it will crash and the app will just close! So I am a quarter of the way through all my old photo albums and the app becomes unusable! It also has stopped saving photos to my Iphone pictures and just leaves them on the app! Unsure whether to delete and reinstall as I do not know if this will delete all of the scans I have already done if they are linked to the app?.Version: 1.5.1

Scans are great but adjusting on 12 pro max is awfulThe adjuster only shows less than half..Version: 1.5.1

Poor, not even closeI really would have thought that an app that will be used to digitise old photos would have the ability to change the date of the image to the date it was originally taken. Location would be good also. Alas none of this sophistication exists. It gets worse, once a photo is taken all that can be done is adjust the corners, basically cropping. There is the option of selecting images, but once selected, all one can do is delete! This app is disappointing given that Google are usually very good with photos..Version: 1.5.1

Easy to use. Great quality.Great app. Would be better if photos could be labelled with date taken, location and who was in the photo.Version: 1.5.1

Great Start, But...TL;DR... Pros: easy to scan pics, produces nice quality scans. Cons: glitchy, some functions are unintuitive. I really like this app and I want to like it more. Unfortunately, the ease of use sort of goes out the window with the glitches and bugs. I’ve been able to work around most of it, but it becomes a pain to have to do it with every scan. Developers (if Google Devs actually look at these reviews)... Bug 1: when scanning, the corners are so far off it’s not funny. Even when putting the photo on a contrasting background so it can see the edges better. Seems like the window is too tall (in portrait) or too wide (in landscape). Bug 2: when editing a scan, when adjusting the corner positions, the zoomed in circle is mostly filled with part of the original in-zoomed image, and I cannot see what’s under the crosshairs. It’s basically useless. Bug 3: I occasionally need to close the app, reopen it, and then view scanned images again for them to be saved to or appear on the camera roll. This happens randomly and throws things out of sequence. Super frustrating..Version: 1.5.1

Crashes my 6sTried to take the photos but it crashes my phone and I have to plug into my charger to restart as the phone thinks the battery is flat.Version: 1.0

Scans lose a lot of detailBe warned that the scanned images are fairly low resolution and compressed. They will mostly look fine on your phone or laptop, but if you zoom in or try to print them again you notice BIG problems. Things are pixelated or blocky or just look weird. This app is fine if you want to quickly scan photos for a 21st slideshow or something, but don’t use it to preserve old memories or the images will forever be compromised. Giving this 2 stars because google suggests it provides high quality scans, and because they absolutely should have fixed it by now. When I went searching I found this has been a known problem since it launched years ago!.Version: 1.5.1

Cropping and saving imageCropping photos (adjusting edges) on iPhone is a pain. Magnifier only show half image. And I can’t seem to save it in Jpeg format in my gallery..Version: 1.5.1
