Postmates - Fleet for Positive User Reviews

Full time deliever for ASU college Tempe/AZI’ve done 1043 delieveries on bicycle for ASU college area-Tempe Az since last October, I do this full time, and since March 2019, the average of working 25 delieveries a day for $100 plus tips, has dropped to 3 delieveries-some days, 5 others/or none.. for $15 sometimes. Since the time I’ve started, they’ve implemented direct deposit cash out... added better gps response....but appear as the lesser of alternatives to deliver for. -And this is due to lack of available offers, and $4-$1=3 for each order (This being said, I do this full time still.. $400 a month.. “used to be $1,200 a month”) But the two things I want changed, ability to choose priority of where’s next to drop off.. Too many times I get an order that’s 1 block away to drop off, but another order is added that needs me to make this order wait another 15 minutes, I should be able to tell the app this order first is the better alternative route Second, I like the new drop off and pick up conformation, and payments per delievery set up in this 2 step system But go back to 4, or more.. $3 an order isn’t bad, but 4 was already low, and your hurting your company image by paying delieveriers less to be more secure. I still support and use postmates fleet as my means for living, but if they cannot fix this downhill slope, I’ll end up going back to working somewhere for hours everyday for $10+ hr.Version: 5.1.3

Great Side Hustle & Experience!I’ve been off and on with Postmates since 2017. Now, I’m doing this everyday(2-6 hours), weekend is busy and look forward to it as street parking is free, fast but easy pace with lots of customers. So far my experiences has been excellent with very few problems picking up food and delivering it to happy customers. Tips: Make sure to include extra condiments and utensils, double check your orders. Carry a cooler with ice packets for cold drinks(really helps on longer drives) and extra hot bags. My Examples: app crashed(lost customer address), restaurant no longer carry a food item, extra long lines and wait time, don’t panic and call or text your customers immediately resolving the situation on the spot, communicating with your customers will make them feel important and cared as a customer, great customer service is everything! Again, great side hustle for purchasing gas, groceries or treating yourself something nice much better than working a part-time job for someone else. Mahalo & Aloha!.Version: 5.4.0

Good for the SideI am in Las Vegas, NV and go online during my main job’s lunch break and my days off. Postmates has helped me stay a float for the times when my main income source is low, like it is currently. I’ve really only done about 100 deliveries so far. From what I’ve experienced so far, it’s worth it to keep working with Postmates for my circumstances. My need for extra money is essentially medium, and I’m in a city that has grown into 6 subsidies and it never sleeps. So it’s real convenient. Cons: it’s not really worth the hassle of delivering downtown in the tourist areas, where the biggest surges are. You gotta battle thick traffic and fight for self parking in garages. Further the casinos block your cell service and your app goes offline while fulfilling the order. This also happens when I’m delivering to the outer regions of town; my app goes offline and so I just prep real good for those orders and make sure I know all the drop off details before heading out there. But I’m still pulled far away from the surge once the delivery is complete sometimes the surge passes by the time I commute back..Version: 5.13.2

It’s a great way to make some extra money on the sideI’ve been doing Postmates now for over a year. It helps when a person needs some extra money when in a pinch. I’m not sure how I feel about the new version of the app because it seems as though you have to do some extra steps and it doesn’t seem to be so user friendly like the old app but I guess I just have to get used to it like any other updated apps. The only drawbacks that I encountered so far is that sometimes it takes awhile for an offer to come thru. There have been times when I’ve waited over an hour, during rush hours, to receive an offer while the map shows it’s a very busy area. Another thing that happens is the accuracy of the location and where I’m delivering to is not always that accurate so it leaves you scrambling to find the drop off while trying to notify the customer. All in all, it’s a great way to make extra money and from what I’m told it pays more than the other food delivering companies..Version: 5.2.0

Good experience but could be GREAT!I do love Postmates but there are small features that would make using the app better and a greater experience, especially because driving is essential with working with Postmates. Some improvements could be instead of marking hot spots by colored areas, provide an address or specific restaurant. Otherwise I’m zooming in which could be dangerous if I’m driving and navigating with no navigation to where I should actually be heading. Also, higher pay for orders that require sitting and ordering instead of “ready for pick up” because what happens is, while waiting for the order or God forbid the merchant is backed up already on orders. For example, drivers spend a lot of time on “one, $4 order” when they could have picked up 2 “ready” orders in the same time, and made $8. And something I personally find truly annoying, when the app glitches and you can’t call or text people when you have arrived. Other than that, I love the app, and I would recommend you have a steady job and make extra money off Postmates, not a main source of income..Version: 5.1.3

Good part time gig for extra cashLike every other gig app job you can sign up for and drive around doing it doesn’t pay great and the company is based out of San Francisco and run by hippies (evident by newsroom feed) full of identity politics and social justice. The pickups are great and with Walmart delivery you can do a real good service for people. It’s fun to do on the side and meet a lot of great people. The more effort you put into customer service and communicating with your customers the more you get out of it usually. Walmart grocery pickups can be a pain sometimes but they’re good money and tip well most of the time. Remember when youre dealing with employees from the businesses you’re picking up from that they’re wageslaving too and be nice with them, they will take care of you or get you squared away. Good alternative to driving lyft or uber, you don’t have to deal with people in your car tearing it up and being a pain. People are more appreciative and friendly when you’re bringing them takeout or groceries. 4/5 because the company is run by hippies..Version: 5.16.2

Many will apply, few will win !It’s surprising to see how many issues most of the drivers can come up with . I’m almost at 1k delivery’s in 3 1/2 months , I make more than 25$ an hour , and i absolutely love it. Most of the complaints I see are from people that expect to have a poor attitude with excellent pay . IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN PEOPLE. Having a can do attitude while looking for solutions, will however set you apart . In return you will make top dollar We are not just dropping off bags ! Be the person that checks orders , informs the customer, and goes the extra mile . Or stay upset and deliver mediocre orders. I receive outstanding tips and it’s never faltered. Check your attitude, be proud of what you do and watch your income grow . Simple as that . I love postmates And I’m so thankful it exist . Without it I wouldn’t be living my new lucrative life ! I make well over 200 a day and can now save !.Version: 5.30.0

Pretty Good, But Still Some KinksSo far I’m pleased with Postmates. The biggest issue I have right now is completing the orders. Deliveries don’t always happen exactly at the person’s address, and PM app isn’t allowing for that. For example, I live in a major Military area, and delivery drivers are not allowed past the gate. The customer must meet drivers at the gate. Therefore, the customer places the order with their address, and leaves instructions in the notes to meet at gate. It works very well, and orders are then handed directly to the customers. However, the PM app will not allow the completion of the order because the driver did not go all the way to the address, even though the order was handed to the customer. There should be a verification required by the customer for instances like this. As I write this, I am waiting to speak to someone from support so I can get my order completed, and I’m missing out on other orders and I’m completely at the Mercy of PM right now. By the time I speak with fleet support, orders will be gone and there will be no more work for the day..Version: 5.32.3

Driving for PostmatesNot enough incentive coming from fleet, for all of the of driving us fleet drivers do. It’s quite a good amount of wear and tear on our personal vehicles. Do they realize how high the gas prices are? The amount of time we spend sitting in traffic, and most importantly that we are getting the correct orders to the customer. The customer whom is also a complete stranger. Not enough pay and compensation for the risks we take traveling to a strange persons house, and if requested even walking the food to their front door. Look; anything could happen. Aside from all The above, I am also a Postmates customer and for crying out loud. Postmates overcharges me on sales tax per item and the delivery charge is almost always $5+ or more. Now as a driver.. there are some deliveriesthat have paid me 2$. I’d like to know what the curb appeal is to drive for Postmates. Unless your Desperate for 2$ and driving your beautiful car right into the ground. 😡.Version: 5.13.1
