Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp for Negative User Reviews

Help?!I’m super excited for this app but I’ve downloaded it and it’s not working. It keeps giving error codes 802-4009 or 802-4809 and saying a communication error has occurred. Hopefully this is fixed soon as I’m really looking forward to playing this game!.Version: 1.0.0

Just something...I love this game but it has been ruined it may sound weird but some of the characters are scary for younger children I found this out when my child who is five got to level forty odd and there was this character called lucky she was scared of the character and refused to talk or do any of her requests one she had a nightmare about this character also at first I was scared of as well! And the HH vouchers you should get more than three my child loves doing this bit of the game but is always disappointed when she has used them all up if this is not sorted out I might delete the game scince it was enjoyable before she got to the level where You could have the HH vouchers and before the characters. This might be what it’s like on Nintendo but if you want them characters DONT DO IT AT FOUR PLUS!!!!! And the loading times to get on the game are so silly the must be changed as She is only allowed half an hour on her iPad in the morning the whole day sometimes she can’t even go on the game scince it chucks her off and sometimes it spends her whole half an hour loading this game up so don’t download it unless you have the whole day to watch stuff load.Version: 3.2.1

A cute but quite repetitive gameThe game and the animals are very cute, but the tasks and gathering get quite repetitive, and the animals don't have anything like real personalities. It's all very shallow. The campsite and camper van areas are too small, and the item choices too restrictive, to make the campsite creation aspect of the game worthwhile. Also, every time it updates it goes into this buggy cycle of not letting you access the game because it needs to update, sending you to the store, seeing that the game has, in fact, already been updated, and trying to open it. Very annoying. Not a good enough game to be worth spending money on in game purchases, and in its current state probably not something that will hold interest long-term..Version: 1.1.0

‘Animal Crossing: Data Download’ more like.Look, this game is overall pretty great. If your an old school fan of AC you’ll probably love it. It looks great and plays smoother then Barry whites singing voice. But I have one fundamental problem with it. Ever time I open the app, it asks me to do yet ANOTHER data download of around 200mb. Even if it’s done the download seconds before if you close the app, or in the case that happened to me just now prompting this review, if you download the data the have to make a phone call. Do you think the data download will still be there? No. Every. Single. Time. This ruins an otherwise perfectly enjoyable app game. With a game like this you want to whip it out of your pocket while your on break, or on the train, and you just can’t do that when you have to wait upwards of 10 minutes for the game to be ready for you to see. I legit think it would take less time to set up my Xbox then it would to download the obligatory data. Every. Single. TIME! Not on Nintendo. You know better then this Nintendo. Now if you excuse me, I have another data download to endure. 6/10.Version: 1.0.1

WhyyyyyOkay okay okay Nintendo, what the heck?? I’ve been playing this game nearly every single day since it’s release and I love what you all have done with it so far. I’m thankful that you have been listening to our suggestions and have even implemented many of them. But what was up with Rover’s garden safari?? This event is nearly impossible to beat within the allotted time, given that with every 20 flowers planted only amounts to maybe 4 butterflies earned every 4 hours. Unless this was your attempt at trying to get us to spend money on leaf tickets so that we could pay Lloyd to catch the other 10 that were otherwise failed catches? Not to mention, I sleep at night and work full time and don’t have access to my phone during those times and can’t constantly look after my garden in order to (maybe) clear the event. It just seems unfair to make it so impossible to beat, even to people who log in and play multiple times a day. I’ve spent every evening as well as my entire three-day weekend this weekend and last, looking after my garden and doing requests and I’ve only gotten halfway through the event and the event ends tomorrow. I agree with other reviewers, you should’ve just charged for the app to begin with instead of making money-grabbing events and create unequal opportunities amongst players because one person can afford to clear these ridiculous events and the other can’t. Like, why do ya’ll hate us? Docking two stars because I’m salty..Version: 1.1.3

What’s happening?? not the same. disappointed. For the first few months i had this game, i’ve enjoyed it so much like its literally so cute and nice. it helps calm me down and i love the encouraging words from the animals. but recently? the game developers seem to have become money-hungry. i think i open this game once a month now when usually i opened it everyday. the events used to be decent, you could get the big prize without spending too many leaf tickets but now you have to go through four pages of such difficult quests to even inch closer. 250 leaf tickets for small cute items? 50 for one cookie? and then producing so many cookies thinking we’ll be able to afford them. it just annoys me at this point. and the new system with gulliver? don’t even get me started. i hate it. this keeps getting harder and is no longer fun at all. might just log off, if i’m not enjoying myself and just getting stressed. i don’t have the money the game wants me to spend on this, i’m a college student after all. thanks for the few good memories early on. i probably won’t continue playing! unless the leaf ticket prices can drop and things can get easier. it’s just unrealistic at this point. kind of disappointed!! :/.Version: 2.6

Personalise campsite - can’t add anymore itemsHaving played the original when I was younger, I completely appreciate this game being on phone. They listen to feedback and improve for players, winner. HOWEVER the aim is to craft furniture to get visitors to your camp site but it doesn’t let you happily place furniture on the camp site, it becomes “too full” in memory. Yes you can use the camper van but who even cares about that? It’s pocket camp. Not visit my camper camp. There’s no need for myself or anyone to go in it. Give us more room on the camp site.. can we extend it for cash? & let us put more items on it please! Can’t even decorate an outdoor space on it with the flowers because it warns there’s too many items. Instead of calming me, letting my artist flair wild by personalising camp site, it annoys me because “it’s too full” when it’s actually not! The game got so much better with the increase of events and gaining more award furniture, however I can’t play with it all customising my camp site. Please improve on this :).Version: 1.2.2

Gulliver Update, Enough Said.If I could rate this app a zero, I would. Clearly, this new update is just Nintendo’s way of adding more micro-transactions in a game intended for a younger audience. Better yet, the management refuses to respond to the complaints and chooses to turn a blind eye on everything. Such a disappointing turn to a game with so much fun and potential..Version: 3.1.2

Latest update to Gulliver is stupidI am very disappointed with the Gulliver update on the farm. It was a great way to dump unnecessary duplicate furniture and have a reward but now Gulliver is another money grab for having to build more stuff with no way to dump excess. It is becoming to complex to get through anything..Version: 2.6

Game has gone downhillThe game used to be awesome, but is now a blatant cash grab. The game has basically turned into a slot machine where the leaf tickets are the rewards. Everything is about leaf tickets and its getting harder and harder to play without making in game purchases. I’ve been playing for about 1 year on and off and I’ve never spent $$ and I never will. Nintendo is becoming the next EA :(.Version: 2.6

$$$$$Every major update further reduces the capabilities of F2P players and a significant portion of this game (including basically all new special event furniture and clothing) must be "crafted" or played using the in-game currency Leaf Tickets...which they've also drastically reduced the ability to get outside of buying them with real money..Version: 2.4.0

Was charming, becoming dishearteningI love Animal Crossing, and this app has a lot of charm, especially with frequent new events. There’s been a shift lately towards more and more micro transactions, which I didn’t love, and made me wonder a bit about the future of Animal Crossing, but I tolerated—after all, the largest portion WAS still free. There was a lot to be frustrated about, but the pros outweighed the cons. Until the recent update, where the Gulliver feature was changed to be a convoluted mess, maybe to stop you from mathing it out yourself to realize the massive loss it causes. I don’t like using the term greedy for an app just trying to make money—it IS a business—but they added no features aside from insisting we pay MUCH more for an incredibly decreased CHANCE at the rewards we were able to get before. I’ll change my rating if they listen to players, but for now, I’m feeling very turned off from the Animal Crossing brand in general..Version: 2.6

Too bad… read! Brutally transparent rating!Level 152 here! Alright first things First. This game is super cute and a great extra to play of animal crossing on the go, that being said there are a few things I’d like to let you know before you play. 1. ALOT of the lovely cute one of a kind furniture are behind a massive paywall of “leaf tickets”. an in game currency that you get mostly from leveling up 10 per level and sometimes special quests/ goals but nothing massive. For me, I’m Canadian and for 200 (160 + 40 bonus) tickets it’s 12.42 CAD after taxes. lil steep when kk sliders dj booth and any other NPC you may want on your island is 300 tickets 😪 2. The prices (leaf tickets = LT) of most things behind paywalls 300 LT for NPC characters for your island (mannequins of them actually) Wallpaper and flooring goes between 80-200 LT Clothing and hairs 70- 200 LT Furniture 30-300 LT depending on what it is (example: one chair is 30 and a dj table with lights is 300) The other way you can get furniture and all other things but *NO NPC items* 3. Is fortune cookies! The surprise boxes of the game. 50 LT each or 250 LT for a box of 5 and the box of 5 states you get 5 +1 stamps to your cookie stamp card but they don’t give you that extra cookie. just to use it to fill up one card to maybe eventually fill up 1-5 or 10 stamps card to pull any item of rarity you want from the cookies that are up at market today. The only time you can pick any cookie you like from present and past is if you pay 10$CAD a month for barely any perks other than being able to pick 5 cookies monthly to randomly roll again for the items you want. daily there are two cookies that become available. It’s Timmy or Tommy’s cookie! Where you get the same 20 or so items over again and you don’t get stamps for these ones cause they are in game currency based. when you sell the item you got a triple of back you barely any money back. even if it’s the very rarest item you can get. you also can’t sell cookie items or other items you bought with tickets to get any tickets back. And rarely.. and I mean rarely! do the two cookies that come up daily is a theme cookie other than Timmy and Tommy’s. 4. Base in game furniture.. there is just a massive lack of furniture and accessories. They make us build all this furniture and mind you you can build it all before level 50 and after that there is the odd furniture you can unlock every 15 or so levels from a villagers request. but it’s all nothing compared to the pay items. 5. The design interface. GOD AWFUL. you can’t lock items in place so constantly accidentally moving items or rotating them. There isn’t a layer feature like how happy home paradise is so You can’t have roof items over top of floor items other than Rugs. you can’t organize items yourself into different categories other than in storage and even if a item is in storage they don’t show up in the categories/catalog you made for yourself for easy finding when decorating. the camera angle changes to ground view only in the camp so design in the camper or cabin is really frustrating cause you can only rotate view which is helpful but we don’t get to look that way while actually playing And not having the ground/eye view angle is super annoying cause each time you make a design you have to save.. wait… then look of stuff looks ok or if things are blocking others or even villagers for looks we are trying to make. on top of this a lot of furniture for some reason have massive dead zones (areas where other items can’t go next to them) that make no sense and really Ruin the usability of the item in spaces cause they are big + a massive dead zone around them. I know for non glitching but it’s a lil much when all the items have it and nothing lines up flesh. So if you have OCDor particular about stuff looking perfect, doesn’t happen much in this game unless you get items from the same cookie 🙃 6.The person to person marketplace. this is a great concept but it’s also lacking. You can’t sell Your doubles of cookie furniture. You can’t put your own prices on items you can only double the price if you want. it’s only creatures you catch, steel, wood, wool, etc. no essences, no clothes and no furniture like I said. Can’t even trade with just IRL friends for items you have multiples of or don’t want/like. 7. The repetitiveness of the “events” It’s always, fishing tournament, flower growing, geode finding. over and over again and you need to pay for subscription to get all the items available during the monthly events. 8. The happy home Paradise extra stuff they added is basic. You have a set list of items you can use in a build but then only let you click them. You can’t “design” an actual room using those items then they rate you on using those items and it’s between 1-3 stars. just seems really boring and easy to get these HHP bag for items when rarely items are for sale that take them. 9. The dodo ships So there are these ships that you sail away with you items adding up to the amount needed and that’s great. but it’s all random what you get back unless you use 12 tickets and it goes DOWN in price each time you pick one instead of the other way around where you’d start at let’s say 2 tickets and go up. And it’s all the good popular villagers that you get and that’s the ONLY way you get them. You can’t do missions or mini games you wait 6 hours to pick 1 things out of a bundle of items and hope it’s the villager you want. but then there are the island for tickets or anything else and they are outrageously expensive to get and pretty much not worth it cause it’s only for 10-20 tickets but you need 900 points to send it away. (Example: 1 piece of wood is 1 point). and even when you finish all 3 island and by chance you did it before 2 days you have to either wait till the 2 days are up or pay 10,000 bells to change them. This game has a lot of flaws but they really don’t care about the people playing. Too boring unless you pay! Yay!.Version: 5.1.1

REMOVE THE SUBSCRIPTION!!!In accordance to the theory of consumer equality, I formally request you, no IMPLORE you to remove this abomination. Not only does such a “membership” reduces the consumer surplus of your current players but also it induces a sense of class division amongst them, allowing those belonging to wealthier socio-economic groups to grotesquely gain an advantage over those unable to afford to purchase such an extravagancy. Which leads me to my next point; do you want your consumers to feel morbidly insecure to the point where they leave the game altogether? Animal crossing to me has always been a safe haven. The whole franchise has provided myself and others alike a sense of belonging that we otherwise could not gain in other simulation based games. It was one thing to discredit the previous version of gulivers ship but it is another to create an explicit line between the proletariat and bourgeoisie in animal crossing: pocket camp. The franchise as far as I am concerned has always given the same experience to all players in previous games, so why should it be any different now?.Version: 3.0

Newest update april 2019Boo! The reissues are expensive and the fact that it’s tied to happy homes is tiring! Not a fan and not worth it! Seems like every update is just a desperate attempt to get users to spend money on leaf tickets! No thanks 🤮🤮🤮.Version: 2.3

Lost sight of original seriesI am an incredibly loyal fan of this franchise and have been playing these games since the first GameCube game. I was so excited to play this game that I made an Australian iTunes account to get it a few weeks early. However, I find that this game has none of the things that make the console versions so great. There’s only about 5 or 6 types of bugs, ocean, and river fish you can catch compared to the probably 70 or 80 in the other games. Villagers all have set dialogue that gets really repetitive. I feel like they all used to have kind of unique personalities... peanut was my favorite but she’s not really like I remember her at all :( no museum, no guest visitors or holidays (Saharah, Gracie, crazy redd) and the interior decorating aspect is really lacking. You can decorate your camper but it’s somehow not as fun as a house...idk why. I did manage to save up for kk slider’s stool, hoping he’d take song requests like before, but he just plays guitar and repeats all the same dialogue. I’m not saying you shouldn’t get the game, it is free after all, but don’t expect anything like the old versions. This might be fun for people who’ve never played them, but if you’re an old fan like me prepared to be disappointed..Version: 1.0.0

Last update ruined gameI am done with this game - it keeps getting worse.Version: 2.6

I love it but it crashes too muchI have been playing pocket camp for over a year and it makes my day so much brighter. I love the daily challenges, the seasonal events, the cute items, the friendly campers, and the endless possibilities of decorating ! However, I have had issues since the latest update a few weeks ago where the game crashes all the time; it is almost unplayable lately because of this. Every five minutes or even more frequently than that, the game closes and I have to reload it which is really annoying and time-consuming. As my phone is quite old (iPhone 6) this may be due to my iOS being outdated, but it’s iOS 12 so it should support the game. Before the recent updates the game ran fine, and it would sometimes crash when I tried to open the gifts from my friends, but otherwise it rarely crashed. But now, it is so often that it makes my game experience stressful. Please fix this and I will rate 5 stars because I love the game otherwise !.Version: 4.2

What were you thinking?First of all, not a bad app and it does have the animal crossing feel. BUT! A small stool costs $16 worth of leaves? Seriously?! What were you thinking when you put up that ridiculous price? One thing that really keeps from buying special game currency is the poor balance. In most games, a special building/item would only cost special currency worth of $1-3 real money. That makes me WANT to buy them when I see something I really like. But $16?! Forget it! And the fact there's no other alternative way of gaining leaves is off putting too. Now, there are interesting tools like fish nets like honey, but why isn't there an option to purchase them or craft them? It's such a waste for a very useful function. Another thing annoys me is the refreshing rate for player visitors. It's way way way too slow. There aren't much intersection we can have with those visitors, and we certainly don't need HOURS to do those. I suppose it's intended for us to make new friends, but the slow refreshing rate makes it, well, slow. There are lots functions that would be great to have but I guess the game is still very new and developing. I hope new functions will be added soon because "furniture collecting and arranging" games are not new and tend to get boring very very very fast..Version: 0.9.0

Too many micro-transactionsThis game would be amazing if nintendo wasn’t so goddamn money hungry..Version: 4.4

Eh.I downloaded this game in May (it’s now August) and honestly the appeal begins to wear off. First off, if you want anything cool in this game, you have to use Leaf tickets and they’re incredibly hard to obtain unless you pay for it. But the prices of the leaf ticket packages in my opinion are ridiculous. Second, you spend so much time and bells to perfect your camp with the coolest amenities and your player can’t utilize any of them. I built a merry go round and have to stand by and watch the other animals use it. Also, the animals are so demanding. They never leave my camp and are always asking for things. Then after spending so many bells to perfect my camp for them, they have the nerve to ask you for more expensive things at a certain level. A lot of the times, the undertones in their words are super rude as well. I tend to skip through their dialogue as it’s so repetitive now. Why is the maximum number of animals at the camp 8? I feel like each campsite could cater to more. The fortune cookies are awful. There is no reason that I should spend 50 leaf tickets on one just to get the worst prize in each. On top of that, receiving multiples of the same bad prizes. I wish you could sell some of these things. Lastly, the tournaments are boring. It’s the same thing every couple of weeks and they have the worst prizes. I am going to wait until I can get a Nintendo Switch and get ACNH because this game isn’t it..Version: 3.3.1

Terrible game forces you to payForces you to pay for items and events. Not fun not worth your time. Also of rhe reviews that are five stars are fake. This game is trash, it's impossible to enjoy it without having to pay.Version: 2.6

Repetitive, could be betterThis game is quite cute, but the animals lack their own personality, and the tasks are pretty much the same every time. Things are quite pricey in the game, so this game could be improved.Version: 4.0.2

Uninstalling due to Gulliver changeThe game is border-lining gambling due to the new change with Gulliver, the odd is so ridiculous and it’s no longer children and family friendly. Will uninstall the app until the issue gets resolved..Version: 2.6

Pay to playFirst of all the major goal seems to be to gather items. you play events, complete quests in order to earn items which u use to decorate your camp site. Unfortunately their are items in the game called leaf tickets and fortune cookies. Leaf tickets is basically the superior currency which is used to buy fortune cookies and seasonal items. The thing is that leaf tickets are easy to come by in early game but as you keep playing it becomes almost impossible to gather a decent amount of leaf tickets to be able to afford stuff. On top of that if you want to craft an item, most of them take an insane amount of time to craft (with some items taking 24 hours to craft) and if you want to speed it up you have to use Leaf tickets. Another thing is that they bring back old seasonal items that you can craft using materials and bells. The thing is that they require a huge amount of materials with a lot being extremely rare and hard to come by. The worst part is that the really good ones only come for a few days, if you want to craft one of them with the materials you have, you have to use a good amount of leaf tickets. Now the last part is about the fortune cookies. When you buy a fortune cookie you have a chance at getting some good items. The thing is when you don’t consistently buy fortune cookies your odds of getting a decent item is very low. Not impressed Nintendo, fix the game 👎.Version: 4.2.2

Enjoying it but...I hear a lot of people complaining about cash grabbing. I have spent a few dollars but don’t see that continuing. The brake tapper game is a waste of time, and inspires gambling, the whole slots mentality. Gulliver’s boat is too ridiculously expensive for nothing much. The rates for rarer items in cookies should be better, or at least less doubling rates on plain items. I got 3-4 pancake hats... really? At least give me a different smaller item. I will keep on playing until the pull for cash makes me delete it. I downloaded it when it first came out after an hour because it was so demanding :D but my daughter was playing on her switch so I tried this again. Annnnd, it takes sooooo long to make tents and features and you have something building constantly which ruins your campsite, then you can’t even use the item you made. :( only watch those campers you are slaving for..Version: 3.2

BEWARE Micro transactionsWhile I love the previous series of animal crossing, This game has become 90% micro transactions and if you don’t have the happy helper plan it’s almost impossible to complete events. Do your self a favour and invest in a a game that cares about game play over constantly streaming in money weekly. Better off waiting for new horizons or giving another game a try. Stardew valley is a good alternative for mobile and zero micro transactions just pure game. Don’t get me wrong I’m happy to support a game with maybe a monthly subscription of 3-6$ but holy moly this game does not feel any shame trying to get ALOT of money from players. Also don’t bother buying fortune cookies, you get duplicates of useless stuff constantly and very rarely get a item you were hoping for..Version: 3.1.1

Pushing players to spend moneyWhen you have to spend money to get anything new or cool in the game it really quits being a game and becomes something that wants to take away your grocery money. $100 per fortune cookie set is way too much, and that’s if your chances are lucky..Version: 2.3.1

LACKS MANY FEATURESThere were so many things to do in the original game: going to town, getting hair done, designing clothes, pulling weeds, getting stung by bees, collecting fossils, stargazing, etc. I’m also disappointed about the lack of fish and big variety. It’s no fun collecting and selling only a few types. All you can do in this game is make furniture and talk to annoying animals to get gifts while selling a few types of fish and bugs for money..Version: 1.0.3

Bring back the old GulliverThis new Gulliver update is a big 👎🏼 It was hard enough to get villager maps & 6 hours was plentiful time. Now waiting up to 18 hours for this dang bird to come back?? And having to pay to receive the rest of our rewards now?? Heck no! Bring back the old Gulliver!.Version: 2.6

Cash grabCan’t get anything good unless you have Leafs and to get a ton of Leafs you have to make purchases in the game. When it initially launched only a few rare items need Leafs. Now they don’t even release new furniture to craft without it requiring Leafs or getting it from events. So disappointed.Version: 3.0.2

It’s Animal Crossing ... butHaving played animal Crossing across many different consoles I was very excited to see you to come to my phone. However I was not prepared for the constant paying out for tickets. I am speaking about the special cookies. Why is this a lottery? The tickets are not exactly cheap I spent around 6 pounds trying to get one particular item only to end up with several of the same item I did not want. This hardly seems fair. This is a great adaption of this classic game - Nintendo can’t you look into this and try to make it a little fairer? I think the idea of paying out for lottery style gaming is not quite right especially from huge company like Nintendo. If this cannot be changed then I can see myself (And a few of my friends who I am enjoying playing this with) deleting this particular version of this game which would be very very sad. Please try to address this problem as it Isn’t really fun and quite frustrating..Version: 1.6.0

Wait For Things: The GameI really wanted to like this game but unfortunately it is just a very typical free to play mobile game with an Animal Crossing skin put on top of it. My biggest complaint is that it simply isn’t fun to play. At the end of the day this is just another mobile game where you wait around for hours for things to be finished crafting while having advertisements asking you to spend real money on this game. Most of the gameplay is fetch quests and gets very tedious after playing for a while. I give it two stars because it looks cute and wastes some time if you are bored but it’s not very fun. I would have given it three stars but I took another star off as it constantly crashes, freezes, or just takes forever to load..Version: 2.3

Gulliver updateThe most recent update feels like an ugly way to make a useful mechanic into a money grab. I used to use Gulliver regularly to turn excess furniture into snacks without giving it too much thought, and now I’m very turned off the game because it’s clear that Animal Crossing is turning towards a pay-to-play model. Really gross..Version: 2.6

It's okThe game itself starts of good but then it turns bad and disappointing. When I first started playing the game I couldn't believe how wonderful it was and was thoroughly pleased but then as I progressed within the game it got less and less intriguing to the point where I am now waiting 44 hours for one thing to be crafted. The only way to escape this wait is to pay over 100 leaf tickets which I personally refuse to buy. As I don't want to put my money into a game on my phone that isn't even as good or worldly as the other games that have come out before this one. There is no where really to adventure out too, you can't really do much after you have done your requests and then you're stuck waiting at least 2 hours before you can even do a request again now this would be ok if you could work on your campsite at this time or do something but because of the time it takes to craft then there's not much hope in that. I am extremely disappointed with this version of the game but I'm sure you would and will have fun with it for a small while until you are either paying for leaf tickets constantly with your hard earned money or not able to play it due to The waiting times..Version: 1.0.1

BewareNOT kid/family friendly! So many addictive gambling mechanisms hidden behind a cute game, it’s outrageous! Used to be enjoyable and I spent money on it, but now they got so greedy and only want your cash, it’s unhealthy I had to delete... so disappointing. Avoid..Version: 2.6

It’s fineThis game is fine and it’s really fun, there are many reasons why it’s not a five star though. When I first got this game I was really excited and I basically played it every day. But the decorating part of the game kinda makes me sad, I wish the was more to do in that aspect, you also can’t decorate your house and that’s just a poor decision. One of the updates made it so I couldn’t play anymore and this didn’t happen to everyone because my mum has this app and it still allowed her to play so I’m very confused, I could play again after a few weeks but it doesn’t make any sense and that shouldn’t have happened. There are other reasons too but those are the main ones for me. There are many good things as well, like the gambling thing (it’s really fun) there’s much more too, but there needs to be some improvements to the game. (I would also love if they made it easier to get villagers as well but that’s probably just a me thing). Overall this is a great game and it’s really fun but there are things you need to consider changing and think about..Version: 3.4.1

Format doesn’t suit Animal Crossing + Bad Customer Service.I think Nintendo missed the mark on this one. Frankly, the idea is great. You manage a campsite of villagers. But the execution is wrong. Instead of cramming all the villagers into one campsite plot, It’d make more sense if the campsite had many unique plots that your animal friends can take up residence. So from that standpoint, its kind of awkward. My second problem, is friends. Your friends serve no purpose, besides being unglorified resource collectors. I’m actually very okay with the Leaf Ticket system, I think its a quite reasonable way to implement a premium currency. For the time being, there is no gacha-type system, leaf tickets are used either as a means of convenience or to purchase rare items, this is good. However, leaf tickets brings me to my biggest reason why I gave this game 2-stars. By completing missions, you gain an introductory amount of Leaf Tickets. Great. Only, there was some kind of bug that occurred because when I started the game the first time, it claimed I had already claimed rewards/AC:PC Platinum Points. Which was not true, as I verified this on My Nintendo page. So I put in a support ticket, and the support I received was frankly unacceptable. It felt like I was talking to a machine, not a person. So after our exchange, they shoved some generic platinum points onto my account, thus preventing me from actually collecting Leaf Tickets that I was going to spend on Time-Limited items..Version: 1.1.3

CrashingNot sure why it’s already crashing but really looking forward to playing this game smoothly! 😩.Version: 1.0.0

Please don’t download!!Hi! I just wanted to say this game is awful. It won’t even lemme play the darn game!!! Apparently my time and date is wrong?! Seriously?! People, please don’t waste your time on this game!! If you read this please press and hold and say it is helpful. This app is THE WORST!!! 🤮🤮🤮🤮😡😡.Version: 3.2.1

It’s ehEvery time they update it’s worse and worse. And huge money grab.Version: 3.1.2

Missing Leaf TicketsFirst I want to say that I’ve been playing the Animal Crossing games since the very first one came out & I absolutely love them all, except the Pocket Camp one. The reason for this is, that every time there is a glitch in the game or with the internet connection, I end up losing Leaf Tickets. I can’t afford to buy them with real money like other people & they are hard to come by in the game, so it is very frustrating when this happens. I’m wondering, how come there’s no other item going missing when glitches occur. Why is there always the Leaf Tickets? I had this happen to me sooo many times (today I lost 40 tickets just because my internet dropped out while I was in the game) that I’m considering not playing this game any more. I informed the game developer about it several times, but I didn’t get a response or have my tickets reimbursed. Because of this issue I can’t give it more then 3 stars..Version: 1.7.0

Nostalgia with the down your throat buy to play cool advertisingHad this game on my Nintendo when I was young and not having a switch this is the closest I’ll get for now 😅 as a free to play the core of the game is great and pure nostalgia. However it does become quite limited rather quickly for those who don’t wish to fork out on the in game purchases that speed up the increasingly length wait times and the disturbingly pricey clothing and decor items. Sure you can get by on earned tickets and bells but the intense advertising doesn’t let you forget what you could have if you’d *only* sign up for this and that and also buy more tickets and become a club member etc etc. I do also feel the bug catching and fishing is out of balance. Catching a fish is guaranteed a every time. Which is not a problem. The big catching however is nearly impossible, maybe it’s just on older phone screens but I find my character jumps forward just at the last second and scares the bug away every time before the option to tap show up. Again, I can buy then spend tickets to catch bugs.. but where’s the fun in that? I’d still recommend the game for sure! It’s nice to reminisce and unwind for a bit and slooooooowly progress my camp. But I do think it’d be difficult for a young child to resist wanting to spend on tickets and upgrades 🤷‍♀️ not to mention the hidden gambling aspect of the fortune cookies 🥠 👀.Version: 3.4.2

RepetitiveI am a big fan of the Nintendo ds animal crossing. I was so excited when I heard it was being released on the App Store as I'd always thought it'd be a good idea. I enjoyed playing this mobile game for 4 days. However it then soon becomes quite boring and repetitive as you realise there isn't much to it. You basically have to go round collecting bugs, fish and fruit and then give them to the animals to complete there task - there's 3 tasks for every animal and there's 4 animals at a time and then they renew every 3 hours and you do it all again. You can craft furniture but it takes ages. I was also disappointed by tom nooks shop compared to the old game he only sells 3 items which change a couple of times a day. They're never great items either. Overall, I think it would be a good game if they included more things to do and explore like the other game instead of just completing small tasks which only take a few mins..Version: 1.0.3

Getting too expensiveI’ve loved Nintendo since I was a child; however, turning this game into a blatant money grab is really frustrating and is ruining the experience as well as my love of the company. This is something I’d expect from Bethesda 🤨.Version: 2.4.0

Overall fairly goodOverall, the game is very fun and addicting. I love the constant new features and cookies being added to get new stuff. However, there are lots of problems. The first being that you can spend ages saving up leaf tickets to buy a fortune cookie or two, only to often get the same item over and over again. I have countless dress which I’d never wear because I have had the same 4 dresses out of one cookie type. Should really get one of each and then it resets when you have all the items. Second being how difficult it is to get leaf tickets in general, considering the only way you can get any decent items in the game is through leaf tickets because the Timmy and Tommy furniture and cookies are rubbish. It’s also incredibly difficult to get friendship powder so it’s near impossible to complete the money maps in a normal amount of time. The last main criticism is that you can’t level up friendships very far without upgrading amenities, but that means always having a hideous loud eyesore of a building site on your campsite..Version: 4.4.2

This is why I gave it a 1 starSo it just keep kicking me out I hate it I downloaded yesterday so yesterday I thought that oh maybe it’s just getting used to me but no oh no there’s no way that happend actually it was the opposite of good so I’m thinking it is bad oh even worse than bad Inma still waiting for them to fix it seriously animal crossing seriously I’m not sure what to do I can’t go to my neighbor and be like oh hi I just came to tell you my game is not working write oh please shut the front door because she will come after you after she drinks her medical tea she’ll come running like a buffalo triaging to get his eggs back wait do buffalo’s even have eggs back to the main part I’ll be running like a duck trying to understand a mouth less dog wait do dogs even have mouths maybe that’s why they have Tungus oh iam stupid oh it’s not my fault the teacher thought me badley were should I start oh yeah one freaking day I was just minding my own business when she popped out of no we’re trying to be an angel she gave me an exam and no example of how to do it oh please it was not nice.Version: 5.4.0

Starts off good...As some people have already said, the game starts off great but then it goes downhill from there. Once resources get low it becomes a drag to get them up since an animal only gives you about 1 or 2 of the resources you need. This results in me not coming back to the game as I know I won’t have the time to get resources up, leaving me to wait until I get some leaf tickets in the log in bonus. Although leaf tickets can be used to craft furniture and such, the game itself is very repetitive. I would rather play a game similar to animal crossing new leaf for mobile or something less to make it compatible for mobile, but not something that is the same every single time. There are different activities to do, but no real progress (in terms of past animal crossing games) is made other than collecting items and levelling up animals friend level, which also doesn’t seem as fun to do and feels like a chore. I know the game literally just came out so I hope you can make some changes to the game structure since I am sure the older players who have played the old animal crossing games (since wild world), would love for a game exactly like that for mobile. Animal crossing pocket camp is just a grind to level up friends with no real substance or meaning as in the past games..Version: 1.0.3

Some things I wish were different:I actually like the game a lot but there are little things that kind of frustrate me for example (and also mainly), I’d really like to be able to give things to my friends- sometimes I get items that I have no use for but would be perfect for my friends camp, or for example, during the event we’re you collected the pink cactus things (sorry I forgot the name) in order to buy the Japanese? cafe items I got everything I wanted and had some of the pink cactus thingies to spare-it could’ve been nice to be able to give them to my friend rather than just wasting them. I would love playing so much more if I could work together with my animal crossing and/or real life friends. Basically- it’s great, has lots of potential but if all resources and items could be shared I would have so much more fun and I’d probably play a lot more often. Honestly if you literally just did that, the game (at least for me) would be extremely improved. I understand that this is a free game but for those of us who can’t afford new horizons this would be much appreciated :).Version: 3.2

Peaches2711This game used to be fun, but now everything is locked behind a ridiculous paywall. It’s no longer rewarding. Our feedback is never answered or addressed in any way. This game has just become a pure money grab from Nintendo, it’s disgusting. The events are locked behind a paywall as well. This is ridiculous, you’re losing fans and all you care about it the money..Version: 2.6

It’s okayI was really exited to play animal crossing pocket camp as I thought it would be the same as the other games I’ve seen my friends play, as I don’t have access to the games. Once I downloaded the game it was fun, a few days later that’s where it got repetitive, in this game your constantly meeting new animals creating a bond with them and inviting them to your campsite, once you level up you get a small amount of leaf tickets and new animals that you do the whole crest a bond with etc again. As I mentioned earlier the leaf tickets... one thing I do not like about this game are how hard it is to access the leaf tickets, your constantly getting loads of bells and maybe 3 leaf ticket or ten when you level up, which is very annoying as some things you would like need leaf tickets such a materials and some other places to go on maps, you also need them for other things. I would recommend this game but I would also say it could be better...😬😬.Version: 3.2

Nothing but a cash cow for greedy NintendoOnce was a cute mobile version of the great Animal Crossing game we all loved, now it's a rubbish that only wants your real money. With all the loot boxes disguised under the name of fortune cookies and so-called "updates" that turns everything into a leaf ticket purchase, this game is losing its appeal and players FAST. It's obvious now Nintendo just wants to squeeze the last coin out of the players' pocket with this game until New Horizons comes out. Afterward, nobody will care about Pocket Camp anymore. I'm sad because I've been enjoying PC since the launch and still see a huge potential in this game. Too bad it had to be ruined by corporate greed this way..Version: 2.6

Not what it once was...This game was fun once, now it’s just a cash grab. Stay away.Version: 2.6

Nintendo why?!There are three problems with this game. 1. Everything is expensive. 2. The waiting time is stupid. 3. This game is nothing but a cash grab. I remember when Nintendo didn’t make STUPID CASH GRABS like this. I bet a few other people do too. Get it together, Nintendo..Version: 3.1.2

Pro’s, con’s, overall opinion.Pro’s of pocket camp: . Choosing what you say to people. I think it’s a great way to control what you do through games👍 . Your own camp. Designing your home is a pretty fun job for those who aren’t old enough to have their own house in real life 👍 . Trades. Trades let kids learn how to spend their things wisely and not waste their valuables when they’re older👍 Con’s of Pocket camp: . Multiplayer. It just isn’t fun enough without being able to technically communicate with real people in game 👎🏽 . Same things. After playing for only just 20, 25 minutes or so, you get bored running round the island in circles doing the same old thing 👎🏽 .Charge. My charge runs out too fast when I play this game, leaving me no choice but to keep constantly charging it up again 👎🏽 . Saving. It says it saves your data, but once I got back in the game and I had to do everything I had already done all over again👎🏽 . Avatar. One thing I noticed was that there weren’t many choices for hair on my avatar 👎🏽 Overall opinion for Pocket camp: Boring game, but has a few aspects that are I guess are pretty cool but they just don’t fix the game. Thank you for reading this Nintendo and all kids and parents..Version: 2.6.1

Horrible UpdateI’ve played this game since launch and loved it. But the most recent update has completely killed my enjoyment. A mechanic in game requires you now to craft using rare materials for the mere chance to acquire new characters. If you don’t get one they offer the opportunity to use in game currency to retry, with the same low chance you’ll get one. Time gated requires days of crafting and another day of waiting for these opportunities unless once again you use in game currency. Unless they change this egregious cash grab I’ll just find another game among the thousands on the App Store to play. Note, I did spend money on this game, I’m just not willing to spend what it will now require to advance..Version: 2.6

I love animal crossing butThis game is too stressful. The events are very overwhelming and make you play frantically. Animal crossing is supposed to be a casual relaxing game. This game has become hectic and chaotic. Update: the in app purchases are continuing to get worse. They find more and more ways to force you to spend money. Done with this game for now..Version: 2.6

Huge cash grabJust a cash grab now. With every update, the game gets worse..Version: 2.6

FrustratedI downloaded this game when it first came out and adored it. with each update there are highs and lows but this newest update with gulliver is a joke. how can you expect new players to keep up ?? the only way anyone could deal with this blatant money-grabbing is if they play and grind religiously. this is such a joke..Version: 2.6

Greedy NintendoChanging game features to introduce even more micro- transactions is pretty gross for a cutesy game mostly aimed at children..Version: 2.6

Animal Crossing Pocket CampI used to really enjoy his game, but now it has turned into a cash grab. No longer playing because of this and also Christmas became toy day and Easter became Egg day, but Halloween and other non Christian celebrations didn’t change names so it appears it’s only the Christian celebrations that Nintendo doesn’t like..Version: 2.5.0

Fortune cookies have too many repeats to a fault.I understand that it’s a random blind bag woh fortune cookies but I’ve spent hundreds of leaf tickets on the Kiki And Lala cookies and I have a dozen combined tables and clocks. This is nonsense and very frustrating because leaf tickets cost money and are hard to get without paying. I have wasted a lot and all I have to show for it are many, many tables a clocks and one dream machine and one sofa. This is too random of not random enough. Twelve repeats out of 15 cookies is ridiculous and a wast of time and money..Version: 2.5.2

Nintendo’s Cash Cow :-(I am really sad writing this review because I love animal crossing so much... If you are hoping to have fun playing this game for free don’t bother. Game play pleasure has been lost in frustrating pay to play system. With each new update furniture, characters and essential game rare materials have been made to be extremely unobtainable, unless you are willing to spend REAL money on Leaf Tickets the in-game currency. There are not enough ways to freely accumulate leaf tickets and rare crafting materials when compared to the cost of the fortune cookies, event items, and in game objectives..Version: 2.6

Love Animal CrossingNot so much this app. It gives access to many of the animals from the main game, but it takes away the charm in meeting new villagers in the main game because I’ve met them before in this. Because of that, I feel less inclined to play this..Version: 2.0.2

New update is badWhen I started playing this game I loved it, I found it so relaxing but now with a new update Nintendo is making it harder for free to play players to get certain items. It feels more like a chore now. Don’t get sucked in as it’s just going downhill at this point..Version: 2.6

Too much grind, not enough gameThis used to be a fun game, but it’s gotten greedier and greedier. If there was something good or free, it’s been taken out in favour if a mechanic that takes time or money. The most recent update was particularly egregious. If you haven’t started with this game already, don’t..Version: 2.6

Gulliver update is miserableI’ve been playing since day one and I generally loved it (except for the fortune cookies which were terrible gambling) but the Gulliver update has soured it. I wouldn’t recommend playing as it's a constant cash grab with leaf tickets..Version: 2.6

Fun but could be a lot coolerI wish Timmy and Tommy and the Able Sisters would sell some different stuff for a change, it gets old seeing the same boring clothes and items for sale which are also duplicates a lot of the time especially when u buy a mystery fortune cookie. I’d rather dress my character and decorate my campsite with cute, colorful, and unique things… instead I’m getting dupes of metal shoes and fire extinguishers and Timmy and Tommy are selling piles of dirty dishes?? Ew lol. And if you want to have cute things you have to have like so many leaf tickets to craft/buy from the limited time and reissued tab, so I am never able to get a single item unless I wait weeks for my leaf tickets to stack up and it takes hours sometimes close to a whole day for one item to finish crafting and if I want to craft more than one item it costs 50-80 leaf tickets😨, the special fortune cookies also cost 50 leaf tickets a piece so if I buy one I’m left with like 5 leaf tickets. I’m almost to level 30, I log into the game and play everyday and have barely any leaf tickets saved up. Overall game is cute and entertaining for about 10 minutes every couple hours and I’m a big animal crossing fan so I will still play, would just love to see more items and maybe more activities to gain leaf tickets:).Version: 4.4.2

Microtransactions rune the gameI really tried to like this this game. I love the franchise, and have played this game since it came out. If not a little repetitive, it is satisfying to play through the events, which are frequent. However, fortune cookies ruined it for introducing the typical “loot box” scam to the game. More higher detailed items are only obtainable via the fortune cookies, with fewer being offered via the free events over time. Like so many other mobile game, ACPC is designed to separate you from as much of your money as it possible can with absurdly priced micro transactions. It is frankly disturbing to see what feels like blatant attempts to rip people off mixed with the pleasant and friendly world and interactions with the characters that Animal Crossing is known for. This game, for me, represents the worst of what micro transactions are. Characters in the the game are always charming, positive, have a good message... yet to have the full experience you’d have to sink a ton of money, probably hundreds or thousands of dollars because of the “loot box” system they hide the highest-quality content behind. It just seems disingenuous, as if spending money is required to be friends with the animals. Doesn’t seem like a positive message to kids. Countries that have made such micro transactions illegal are on the right track. So disappointed Nintendo let this happen to their IP..Version: 2.4.0

Waste of TimeWas a loyal player from day 1, but they updated the game & made “””””improvements”””” that are nothing but a money grab. Really sad that this game was turned into trash..Version: 2.6

Unnecessary and FrustratingWhenever I open the app, I have to download 205MB of content. Which cannot be bypassed or ignored. I have updated, uninstalled and reinstalled the the app and yet I still have to wait and download the 205MB of content. Also I cannot place two mats in my campsite side by side. Instead of the it being placed in the middle of a selected section, whenever a mat overlaps another, one disappears. Please automatically place the mats to fit or shade in red so we know it won’t fit..Version: 1.0.3

AvoidEverything in this game revolves around leaf tickets (in-game purchasable currency) game is filled with micro transactions like crazy, events are all the same three same order every time. Pop ups daily in game to buy their loot boxes. Was a big fan of Nintendo till they started getting overly greedy about everything..Version: 2.4.0

Something happenedThe game is really good, it’s really cute and I like how you can add friends! The only thing that’s annoying is that a couple weeks ago I stopped playing it bc of not enough spare time, and now when I open the app it just crashes? I’m not sure whether it’s my phone or the app..Version: 3.1.2

6/10I love the game but i’m a bit disappointed in how different it is to the old animal crossing. there’s no more houses to decorate and pay off mortgages, only pay off loans to fix your camper van. you can’t buy the fishing rods, shovels, watering cans, umbrellas and bug catchers, and use them when you want (it’s automatic). there’s no more day and night (dusk and dawn maybe but no night), or weather patterns. you can only find certain things in certain areas, where in the old one you could find bugs in every area and fish in every area not just one. can’t create gardens anymore, the market place is tiny and doesn’t have as much to offer. no more museum or town hall (which i suppose is the point of the camping theme) can’t send letter anymore. instead of being able to walk all over the town, there’s only designated locations. so far there is no feature that allows you to make your own clothing anymore. you can’t display any fish or bugs you catch, like the old one and and the game is basically only about finding things to give to other characters to make friends, but that’s about it. apart from that, the characters are still the same and the actual game graphics are really good. there are still a fair few similarities to the old one, but after waiting so long for it to come out on iphones, i was a bit let down about how much you can do on this one, compared to the old game..Version: 0.9.0

Longtime Animal Crossing FanACPC is the beautiful and artsy core game hiding a strenuous task management system with blatant money grabbing. Since release a majority of the item sets of high production value have been in exchange for overpriced in-game currency called Leaf Tickets.?You earn as little as 1 ticket per mission completed maxing out at about 10-15 per event. Many of these items cost 100’s of Leaf Tickets. For other items you must spend 50 for a CHANCE to unlock a furniture item from a set. They are called fortune cookies and they are quite the GAMBLE (*cough cough*). I used to enjoy Animal Crossing. However, the the disheartening reward system and blatant attempt to get as much money out of fans as possible for virtual items or even gamble with the in-game purchasable currency (referring to leaf tickets here again) with no guarantee of the item has made the game feel very against the player. Which goes against the idea of a limited stress task management game of creative expression. Possible solutions to this could be higher rewards for completing goals and missions or lowering the price of ideas that cost leaf tickets. Fortune cookies should be cheaper AND we should have more options to earn them from missions and quests. They should be available for purchase with coins more often in the shop. Item sales and limited discount sales would make a lot of sense considering the real time based aspect of the game but are not implemented..Version: 2.6

Few things I wish I could do in gameI absolutely love this game, but a few thing I really wish would change is having more ways to earn leaf tickets more frequently rather then having to buy them to get anywhere it takes forever to build up leaf tickets so by the time I save them up I can't buy the item I want cause it's already gone and we are on to the next event, not everyone can just buy them every time there is a new event so the people that can't buy them and keep up with the events get discouraged cause they can't buy them and looking at other people's camps who clearly bought tickets and makes them want to stop playing cause they can't make their camp all super cute and pretty cause there is only like 1 or 2 ways to get tickets WITHOUT spending money. The other thing I feel like would be really cool is the ability to trade items with other players and maybe a way to communicate like leaving little notes at the camp or something or have a little mail box that is at the camp so we can leave gifts for our friends or notes, or add a post office system kinda like in new leaf. Also it would be super awesome if we could expand the camp site and cabin and make the cabin have a yard so we have more places to put decorations instead of just having all that extra furniture sit in our collection box..Version: 3.2.1

What happened? This game was so wholesome and relaxing in the beginning. Now it’s just a HUGE money grab with loot box gambling that has terrible odds. I loved this game but now it seems very corrupt and greedy. Not cool..Version: 2.4.0

From fun to frustratingI loved this game and have played daily for years, pay extra for the happy helper plan too, but since the last update it takes forever to load and that’s become so frustrating I don’t even want to play anymore :( I really hope they fix this and people who want to use the new journal feature can click it open rather than forcing everyone to wait for it to open, just to close it immediately so we can actually play the game..Version: 5.0

Not what it wasWith the latest update it sadly became a cash grab. I’ve never had an issue with this game until now...hopefully the next update will fix some of these issues and people can go back to enjoying it:).Version: 2.6

New update sucksNew update sucks.Version: 2.6

Could be betterIf you’re going to download this game and you are thinking it’s like the DS games (new leaf, wild world), you might be disappointed. I was waiting all month for this game to be released, I’m not disappointed however I’m not pleased. This game gets very repetitive very quickly. You do favours for an animal, buy the required things, then invite them to your campsite. Once you level up, you unlock new animals and do the scenario all over again. That’s literally the entirety of the game. Yes you can decorate your camper and yes you can pay off your loan. But there’s not really that much to do. I’ve got to the point where I need materials to make the required furniture but I’ve ran out and the animals that I do favours for aren’t giving me the materials I need! The only other way to get materials is use leaf tickets which I have also ran out of because of buying extra building spaces and having to use them to buy the materials I need. You can earn leaf tickets through doing the stretch goals but that’s once per day. What am I supposed to do after that? I also don’t like the fact that the game isn’t free roam, it’s just a map! It’s basically saying here’s where you fish, here’s where you catch bugs and here’s where you gather fruit. I understand it’s a mobile game ,but surely you could’ve done better Nintendo? 😒.Version: 1.0.1
