AT&T Call Protect for Negative User Reviews

ABSOLUTE JUNK!! PLEASE READ...What’s the point of a call block app if it identifies a spam call and does not block the call?? Then you call ATT and they say well, it will tell you if it’s spam and you can block the call if you want. Well, after I already answered the spam call, ow they know my number is a working number and now I’m in a new database. Idiot programmers at ATT didn’t think this one through. I get a dozen spam and spoofed calls a day which this app identifies as spam but only flags. It also has numerous confirmed user reporting a as spam and still doesn’t block the call even though all settings are set to block all spam calls. Also, when signing up for this on my Apple device I started getting charged a subscription by Apple and additionally double charged the same subscription on my ATT bill. Yes, I am not mistaken. Every month Apple took 3.99 plus taxes off my credit card and then att was adding that same amount onto my cell phone bill. And both of them kept blaming the other for the mistake..Version: 1.6.5

UselessThe app rarely registers scam calls, and only 10% of the time does it display SPAM RISK when I receive robo calls. BUT...AT&T will block all robo calls by identifying the SSID of all incoming calls to my phone for $3.99 extra a month! Hey AT&T...you know these frauds are being perpetrated against your customers and you have the ability to stop it, by instituting caller-hardware filtering software. Do you do it for the safety and security of your customers? No, you tell them they should pay to to stop allowing the criminals your system knowingly allows to continue committing these crimes. That is aiding and abetting when you knowingly assist the criminal. Then to appease your long-standing customers who are disgusted by your lack of assistance in preventing the continuation of the frauds, you offer this app which makes the customer have to manually filter out ‘most’ of these calls, when your internal software would block the calls from going through in the first place. Sadly, after nearly 20 years with you, I think it’s time to look for another provider...merely on principal - even if the other company doesn’t offer anything more in protection from these menacing calls. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, but your offer to block these criminal calls is nothing but extortion when it is your service that is the vehicle for their existence!.Version: 2.3.0

Why Fix what’s not broken?I have used this app for a long time, the free basic version and it has worked well for me. Recently I found out my identity was stolen, again my mind was put at ease because at least this one app was doing its job. Until recently. I noticed in the past few days I had 5, 10 than 30 silenced calls RIGHT AFTER ONE ANOTHER! Much to my surprise every single one was on my phones block list! Now how did that happen? And how did they get through? I haven’t seen anything like this for years! As I looked at this app I see changes, a combining of apps & as I look at the reviews it’s seems I’m not the only one having this issue either. I seriously considered upgrading to plus, but as I read more reviews it doesn’t just cost 3.99. I have been loyal to AT&T for a long time, but honestly I’m looking elsewhere. Having my identity stolen, the constant changes that make everything less customer friendly and more corporate/data driven have truly made me think about what my priorities are. Where that new home for me is I don’t yet know, but I do know my phone is becoming less important and it’s not attached to me as it once was - that is something we all need.. to disconnect from this digital world and reconnect with reality..Version: 2.34.0

👿. UI 🪳. Weak. App fraudulently solicits reviewsIt just asked me to rate the app but the review does not go to the app store!!!! FRAUD! That's even worse than not providing the upgrade features to people who paid for it! Which I see also happens. Not marking spam calls as well as other apps. ——— 2020 Update: 👿UI 🪳! It has started blocking callers w/o caller ID. If I go into the UI and click “unblock“ nothing happens in the UI. But at least the unblock does take affect. (Yes I know most people usually want such calls blocked. But sometimes we’re expecting a call back from someone who we know blocks caller ID such as say a doctor responding to an urgent need using their cell phone and not wanting to share their private direct number.) So the way caller ID works is that often the phone system still knows who’s calling but the information is marked private so what is displayed is Private Caller. But perhaps now that I’ve chosen to unblock, it’s un blocking this particular caller without unblocking all calls marked Private Caller. 🤩 So supposedly it was just updated to support STIR/SHAKEN! I am super excited and hopeful. ——— 2019 Update: Wow! In the last 10 months it has flagged only one call and blocked only one call many scam calls have been let thru. 2022: NEEDED FEATURE: Let me share a phone # to the app and reverse directory it in one step..Version: 2.34.0

Terrible App PerformanceWhile it does well to block spammers and telemarketers. It should for the extra $3.99 a month for the PLUS features. However. It gets a single star because (1) it’s slow and lethargic. You think it has crashed or frozen but it has not. Using an iPhone 11 through multiple OS upgrades and running the most current version of the app. It never improves. (2) it’s buggy. I pay for the Plus service yet when I attempt to use some of the features, the pop-up says I must upgrade to the Plus version for $3.99. I click even though I get my bill every month for it. Then it says — you’re already a subscriber. Aaaaargh!!! Geez ATT. (3) and the worst of it all? It blocks more of my personal friends and clients flagging them as Spam. It seems to have nothing to do with my phone contacts list. If that were so, then my son wouldn’t keep being flagged as SEVERE SPAM. Only until I put a person’s contact INTO the Call Protect does it stop blocking. Well, it cost me potential work when a person called to hire me and later emailed me to say they went with someone else because he could never get me on the phone. I checked —- blocked! Again and again. I have no idea unless the person leaves a voice mail. Not sure what’s happening with it but it’s a horrible app to have to pay for..Version: 2.35.0

Good app but needs one extra piece user feedbackUsed this app since ATT first announced availability. If possible I would like to get one piece of information feedback when I report a call. For numbers that are not in my contacts I ask that the app signify that I made a report. Right now it does not signify the action that I made a report so I often duplicate them. If that capability were available it would assure me that I made a review and took action. This would be immensely helpful when I get multiple spammers daily calling my number over a period of several days and I often don’t have a chance to review all the calls right after they are made. This capability is not available in the paid version either, otherwise I would consider upgrading. I would note positively that ATT is now, where it can, providing users with notification that a call is from some form of spammer but has not yet taken an action to block the call. Thanks..Version: 1.6.5

Call (But Not Really) Protect PlusI’ve been using Call Protect for about two years now, and in all honesty I think it’s more of a Telemarketer Magnet than a Blocker. Over the past six to nine months the number of calls labeled “Telemarketer” has skyrocketed to literally a call (sometimes up to three) every other day. And the thing I find most laughable and frustrating with this app? The caller ID will show “Telemarketer”, which you would think you could easily route it to voicemail, or set it to automatically block it, but no, that is not an option. So when I was looking at the comparison between the regular Call Protect app versus Call Protect Plus, I saw in the handy dandy chart that the user can make real customizations in the Plus app. So, I then upgraded so that I could set it to automatically block those pesky, never ending Telemarketer calls. But, alas! It ‘twas not to be. For if there is a way to configure the app thus, it be not in an obvious manner so that an oaf such as I might stumble upon it and avail myself of its mighty power. In other words, it doesn’t work as advertised. And this is an app FROM THE TELEPHONE COMPANY that you would actually expect to work. Don’t waste your money..Version: 1.6.5

Blocks some callsThe app works well enough I guess, but still inundated by ATT based cell phone calls NONE I am personally dialing. My own # supposedly calls me, up to 25 times in less than half an hour... which finally shows up as flagged, over 120 times of it calling me total (so far) later. My neighbor’s number still calls multiple times an hour and I had to manually block theirs. They did not know my number at all, nor do I advertise it anywhere publicly. When these phone #’s are searched they often turn up as Spam or Scam, and yet NONE get blocked unless we do it ourselves. This app still doesn’t help stop spam especially those who claim to be associated with ATT services. Research into those numbers show they are NOT genuine. And sadly it does NOTHING to aid the countless spam and perverted texts that won’t be caught by the number to text spam calls to since many of these use a jumble of letters and numbers as an email address instead of phone numbers.Version: 2.23.0

Why...So I’ve been getting more and more of these calls—all sorts of them. I read about what the FTC said to do/not do about them. So I stopped pressing whatever # to be placed on their “do not call” list. I decided to try entering the numbers into my phone and then blocking them. I have a ton of them! Why does my phone block regular people’s numbers but not these?! In the section where it shows my calls, answered or not, is where I had the #s, though I had erased them for a long time. It only said where it came from, supposedly (I apparently called myself a couple of times). A day or two after I made my “Robocall list”, I got other calls. I decided to just keep adding them. Only they were no longer showing up as calls I received. So the things that this and many well-intentioned apps have aren’t going to work. Maybe some premium features, but I have given AT&T a lot of my $, so I would rather not give more. These companies (?) are harassing us, and some calling are illegal. They don’t care if you’re disabled, elderly, or whatever. I wish a lot of people could get together and bring a lawsuit against all of them. This is ridiculous! I hope you can update your app and be able to get ahead of them in the meantime..Version: 1.6.5

Disappointed in ATTI too thought this would end the spam calls and texts, but I have experienced more this month than ever before. So I opened the app, and perhaps it had stopped working bc it wanted me to “get started.” So I entered my cell phone (we’ve had Att phone service for 51 yrs), and got the pin in a separate text, entered it and pressed Verify, only to get into a do-loop of entering my # and then a new pin. Enuf! Please note, some of us aren’t fooled by this “service” in which I write down the spammer’s number and report it to Att 7726. The other reviewer seemed happy to then go to the trouble of blocking each spam number in his phone. That’s pointless! No matter if you or Att blocks those numbers, the spammers just make up numbers. Once the caller is on our land line presented our own phone number as the caller id; it wouldn’t do to block our own phone number. What I don’t understand is how does it benefit Att to avoid a workable solution? Do they get some kind of credit for every spam call, text, wrong number, etc. ? Just wondering. Poor call protection. Don’t bother..Version: 2.23.0

If I could give it a half star that would still be to much!I personally did not like the app. When a telemarketer called which have been bugging me for four straight months even when I tell them to put me on their do not call list they still call. I downloaded this app because it states it can tell you if it’s a “spam” call or a telemarketer. Well, all it did was the same as my phones caller ID, gave me state and phone number big whoop! I already had that I wanted to see more information than that. I deleted the app needless to say didn’t even use it for 24 hours. I’ve had this number for a long time and these endless marking calls just started happening. I for one think AT&T is selling our phone numbers thinking we’ll pay for this useless app. Thanks for nothing AT&T from a loyal customer who after 15 years is ready to switch carriers if you cannot put an end to unwanted calls. 12 hours a day they call 5 days a week. If I could pester them at home I would do it in a heartbeat to show them what it’s like to call someone from 8 to 8!!.Version: 1.6.5

Basic or plusIt initially felt nice to have this app. But after using it for few days I had to delete this app because it black a person who calls me maybe 20 times a day because we like to talk to each other but somehow the other this app black to manually blocked I called the wireless company and spent over two hours talking to the customer service but they were not able to help me so I was stuck with my friend not being able to call me I haven’t paid for the plus service and could not get rid of the black part because it was manually blocking my friend without any reason so I deleted the app once and then download the app again with the same problem again I was frustrated but did not give up so I found something at the backend versus delete the whole data of the call received I deleted all the call receipts and then deleted the app that made my friends phone start working coming back to me my four dollars per month vas a waste but I learned a lesson.Version: 2.31.0

Stopped using this app and got less spam callsI am the type of person that wants to combat spam calls and texts with whatever tools I can get. I pay for the premium Mobile Protection plan and get this app as a part of it. What I have noticed is that I get less spam when I don’t report the calls (I reported everyone religiously). I think there may be a leak in the system and information may be sold or something. I still get a random call or text message, but it has tapered off drastically from receiving several daily to receiving one here and there. I don’t recommend this app whatsoever!!! Such a shame that AT&T has to contract this out to Hiya and jeopardize our privacy! I also had numerous issues with the app and it was very buggy. It would freeze constantly when making reports and wouldn’t always allow me to put information in or would stop working midway through a report. This is another major reason for me quitting this app..Version: 2.31.0

Needs Protection for Spam Text Messages!!!!This app is somewhat okay for blocking phone calls from annoying spammers; HOWEVER, there needs to be an easier way to BLOCK SPAM TEXTS! As of the date of this review, all you can do is (1) open the text from the spammer (2) click and hold on the text message to get the more function to appear (3) click on the forward option to forward the text to ATT’s spam number, (4) wait for a text from ATT’s spam number to ask you for the spammers phone number in which the text was sent, (5) go back to the spammer’s text and click the info button at least twice to be able to copy the spammer’s phone number, and (6) go back to ATT’s spam text message to paste the scammer’s number and (7) hit the send button to send the text message! SERIOUSLY????? Do you know how many freaking spam text messages people receive to do this EVERY SINGLE TIME? Not to mention, users are running the risk of accidentally clicking on the fishing links within the spammers text message—just to forward the message to ATT!!!!????? Although we may be able to separate known senders from unknown senders, the alert notification sounds alone are enough to drive you crazy! THIS APP HAS BEEN AVAILABLE LONG ENOUGH TO HAVE ADDRESSED THIS PROBLEM!.Version: 2.8.7

Don't use it's more of a botherThis app is good at blocking unwanted phone calls. The issue is when there are different outbound #'s vs. inbound #'s as many businesses tend to have. When a business calls me often the number they use to reach me is not the same as the main phone number for them, it's slightly different. When a business calls even if I were to update my contacts (my vet and eye doctor for example) this app blocks it and I miss calls because this app sends them to VM with no option to pick up the call. Just discovered blocked messages. It's frustrating. I have deleted the app and it's still blocking phone numbers even though some phone numbers are saved in my contacts. In my opinion this issue should be resolved to be an effective call blocking app. If you want to miss important calls and have important calls automatically blocked even though the numbers are in your contacts then download this app. Waste of money. It's caused more of headache than it's worth..Version: 2.4.1

Outrageous to charge for this serviceIt is outrageous to me that AT&T will charge users a monthly fee to do something for them that should be a core aspect of their service. This “service” asks users to report and/or block calls that they received as spam, fraud, solicitation, etc. In other words, users help them tune their filters to improve their service, and users pay to do so. I pay for it mainly because the filter seemed much worse without and I was receiving too many spam calls. I do think it’s better with it, but I don’t get to see both sides, so who knows. Now, though, I spend a small portion of each day forwarding phishing texts to AT&T so that others like my elderly parents might not get the same texts all day… Lots of “Hi, I checked my contacts and found an unfamiliar number, have we met before? May I have your name?”, or just “Hi”. Hey AT&T why charge me for helping? Better would be to own responsibility for this type of tuning and reward the effort..Version: 2.34.0

Needs work to be truly usefulIt catches a lot of calls as suspected spam, a telemarketer or potential fraud, & will tell you how many reports about the number, but not what the reports say. If there are no reports, you have to go to another search to look the number up to see if the number should stay blocked or whether it is something legitimate being blocked. I’m not sure how they know it’s any of those things if there are no reports, especially since I’m on the do not call registry. Every call, whether known or unknown shows twice in my app with the same time stamp for the call. Tried to find support or feedback about the app through the App Store, but it takes you to AT&T’s regular page, which doesn’t seem to have a designated app feedback area. When trying to submit for assistance about this duplicate identical call issue, none of the drop downs offer the Call Protect app to direct the question to the right forum. Cumbersome process for support..Version: 1.6.180

Greatly inefficientI have been using this application for along while. I have found it to be useless! The results of calls are ‘hit & miss’ with miss being almost 98% of the time. Sometimes incoming calls are not identified by the app but when you open the app later it shows as ‘telemarketer’ which really defeats the purpose since it is after the fact! In other words it does not indicate as such when your phone rings and the incoming number appears on the screen. Further: recently discovered that calls made from a landline private number with no caller ID, to mobile phones installed with AT&T’s Call Protect or Mobile Security Apps are blocked/displayed as “Spam Risk” and the landline caller will hear looped ring tones with no options to leave a voicemail! This is a serious issue in that in an emergency a landline caller will NOT be able to reach a mobile user ( I. e., a Chile trying to reach his/her parents) or leave a message. Reported this problem to AT&T via their support line as well as their ticket creating process which has been a great disappointment. They have not resolved the issue and the problem is still outstanding. Once these apps are removed from the device as well as AT&T’s systems, the calls can come through. My advice: remove both apps from your handsets until AT&T resolve the problem. However judging by their troubleshooting folly, and lack of attention or response, I am not holding my breath..Version: 2.27.0

Enhancement RequestAnything to help reduce spam and unwanted calls is appreciated. This app seems to do a decent job, but there are two shortcomings I’d like to see addressed. One is to provide a way to block spam text messages from email addresses. The app provides information about how to report spam text messages to AT&T, but when prompted to provide the sender’s information, it only appears to accept phone numbers. Sometimes I receive spam text messages from an email address instead of a phone number, but the process doesn’t accept email addresses. The other shortcoming is there isn’t an easy way to submit enhancement requests, which is why I’m doing it here. I looked all over this app’s support website and couldn’t find a way to submit an enhancement request. There’s a Contact Us option, but it just directs the user to various troubleshooting pages and forums..Version: 2.8.7

Five to zeroI do not normally write reviews unless something is either truly awesome, truly crap, or the seller bugs me about doing so. This app went from the first category to the second with the last update, which added “in app purchases”, and cannot be uninstalled, apparently. The remove function of iTunes is greyed out, and the AT&T online remove feature doesn’t seem to work to allow the app to be removed from the phone. Why do I want to remove it? After the update, it doesn’t want to start without registering my phone with an unknown entity. AT&T knows my phone #, so why does an alleged AT&T app need to ask for it? Highly suspect actions breed distrust in a supposed “security” app. Inability to remove said suspicious app only doubles done on distrust. I actually liked the app for the most part, although it missed the mark in several areas. For example, if a number makes multiple calls while the first is still ringing, it should be able to add a block without the user having to unlock the phone to run the app. And, AT&T should be able to detect that behavior and tag those numbers as “suspected spam” without user intervention..Version: 1.6.180

Not ImpressedSo far this app hasn’t worked as I hoped. First of all, I couldn’t find an operating manual or explanation anywhere. So, use is based on best guess. Telemarketers still ring through, you just get a warning that it is a telemarketer. The app has completely missed one telemarketer phone number or they are figuring out how to get around it. Since starting to use this app my fraud calls have tripled. They don't ring through, but my phone looks like a strobe light because they just keep calling every few seconds. I want a way so anyone not in my contacts list can’t call me or anyone not in my contacts list would automatically be sent to voice mail except fraud call should be blocked in this case. These two setting could just be under settings in the app for those who want them. Also, you are going to have to answer the telemarketer call and find out who they are so you can fill out the information section. This defeats the whole purpose of the app. I answered one of these calls by accident and I now get 20 or 30 calls a day..Version: 1.4.146

Horrible customer service!I’ve had this app for at least 2 years and never had issues with it until recently. On November 22 I noticed that my service had reverted back to the “Basic” plan despite my automatic payment being received by AT&T as reflected on my bank statement. I emailed customer service the next day describing the problem and asking for a response to let me know why this happened and what would be done to correct it. 8 days (7 minus the holiday) and three additional emails from me and I have yet to hear anything from them other than receiving the usual computer generated “Your request has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff” line. It may not be a lot of money to some people, but the point is they have no problem taking my money for the upgrade without actually giving my account the upgrade I paid for! If it’s a fixable glitch on their part then they need to follow up with their customers..Version: 2.25.0

Fail. Get Hiya insteadUpon initial setup, the app asks to verify your phone number by sending a PIN number via text. I’ve tried a dozen times over the course of the day, and and I never receive the PIN number. I understand it could take several minutes, but hours, and still nothing? Days, and still nothing? What a waste of time. Update: tried again a year later only because I’m an AT&T customer and recently came across this on their website, so I thought I would give it another chance... Nope, still can’t get past the pin verification because they aren’t texting me the pin. Here’s the thing: AT&T should offer the Plus upgrade to customers at no extra cost. I pay about $300 a month between Wireless, Uverse, and DirecTV Now... and they want to charge $48 more per year for this service? Ridiculous! Potential customers, do your research, this service is powered by Hiya. I’m now subscribed to Hiya, which is THE SAME SERVICE AT&T IS SELLING YOU, but I’m only paying $15 a year for it. AT&T is gouging you by tripling the price for no significant reason. If ya don’t care about your hard earned money, then continue to pay more than three times the price for the same product... or be smart and switch to Hiya..Version: 1.6.5

Telemarketers need to be stopped!!!I would give a higher rating and pay you $$$ for your app if you could block all telemarketers calls. To many calls from them get through some way. Some may call themselves legitimate businesses, but we all know the bottom line is you will never get what you pay for, if they can come up with some reason you didn’t ask or failed to read the fine print. You’re never going come out ahead. It must be a successful endeavor though they keep calling all of the time. But for me if they contact me first I will never spend a dime with them I don’t care who they are or what they are selling. So they become a nuisance to all of us that will never trust what they have to say or sell. They just need to go away! Have you ever heard anyone say they are glad to hear from telemarketers??? NO!!! Yes when I was young and stupid I fell for their crap. I never got anything they promised but they got my money..Version: 1.6.5

Great when it works, potentially deadly when it doesn’t which is always lately.I’ve had this app for a while now and it worked good at first, however, for the last month or so, it’s been disconnecting all calls coming into my phone. It’s supposed to send most of them to voicemail and allow contacts to get thru. The caller gets nothing, no ring, no recording, no voicemail, just dead silence as if the call dropped completely before going thru. Every single time it does this, I’ve missed many many dozens of calls with no notice or call log trail in my incoming calls. Only complaints via email from the callers let me know they were all being dropped. I missed some very critical doctor calls due to this. I called ATT today and they opened a ticket. I thought I’d inform the app developers thru here as well, as this is a huge, very dangerous problem especially during this pandemic. Also, the “save as contact” link doesn’t work either, so once you’ve blocked a desired call, you can’t add it to your contacts anymore with the “save as contact” link on the contact info tab of the app. Overall, this app now does way more damage than good. I don’t know what happened to make a great app go so far downhill so fast, but I’d stay away at all costs for now..Version: 2.4.1

Greedy greedy greedyBrought to you by the same people that invented the “unlisted number” — charging you for not doing anything. AT&T won’t block known spammers at the network level, so now they charge you $3.99 a month PER PHONE to do things that they should be doing anyway (like blocking spam, telemarketing, etc.). They say this is an extra service, so you should be paying more, but does Microsoft or Google ask you to pay for spam prevention? No. When this app came out, I thought that AT&T was taking a step in the right direction, but it was just a prelude to a greedy attempt to grab more money from an already overpriced cellular service. They have the ability to automatically block the vast majority of spam calls, but they won’t if there is any chance that they can charge people extra for this “service.” Always remember, they aren’t in business to provide you good service, they are in business to turn a profit and increase the pay of the managers who dream up ways to charge people extra for doing nothing..Version: 1.6.5

Doesn’t Block Known TelemarketersThis app is great at blocking telemarketers which I personally identify from calling me a 2nd time from the same number. HOWEVER, I regularly get calls which make it through, which show in the app as “extreme threat” level telemarketers. Obviously, this threat rating and classification is the result of many reports from other users. YET THE APP LETS THE CALL THROUGH ANYWAY!!???!!!?!!! There is no option to block all known telemarketer calls. Why? To the developers of this app: You guys are collecting large amounts of data via this app. Why do you not use it to shut down all calls from all identified telemarketers? Why not give the user the ability to opt in to auto-blocking all telemarketers which have been identified as such by the user community? Finally, I REPEATEDLY receive calls from the same scammers even after blocking them. The only difference is that they are “spoofing” a different caller ID number. I am certain that the AT&T network is capable of identifying the ACTUAL origin of the call. So, why not block the actual caller and not just the phone number which they are pushing into the caller ID data for that day?? Fix those two glaring deficiencies and this will be a 5 star plus app. Until then, it kinda doesn’t *really* do it’s stated job..Version: 2.22.0

Clunky InterfaceI have had the free version and now the paid version of this app, it’s always been clunky, slow, and a down right pain in the rear. It block numbers you don’t want blocked, doesn’t block numbers you do want, and right now when you open the app it freezes for a minute or so before you can do anything! Intrude to delete this app and cancel the service once but discover that they store your blocked numbers list on their servers, which means when you cancel it, they still block numbers! This stupid software blocked literally everybody for a period of time, my wife, my kids, my parents, everybody... except the people I did want blocked! It’s as terrible app that mirrors the horrible service by the parent company ATT. Their mobile plans are expensive, slow, and so is their internet service! Don’t expect anything more from this app than you’d get from the parent company... both are pitiful! Don’t make the mistake of paying for this app, struggle with the free version at your own risk but avail the paid version at all cost; for that matter, avoid ATT at all cost too!.Version: 2.8.7

UNRESPONSIVE & WORTHLESS. ROBOKILLER WORKED BETTERInstalled Call Protect (Version 2.22.0) and Mobile Security then upgraded to paid PLUS version in my iPhone 12ProMax with iPhone iOS 14.6 EVERY time I open the Call Protect app it opens to the call log screen reflecting current call status BUT I can’t navigate ANYWHERE in the app (other tabs, or I f I want to click on a suspicious call to block) it I can’t. The loading gear (spinning circle) just turns continuously until finally the app crashes. I’ve tried everything possible (deleting app, rebooting iPhone, reinstalling app, double checking phone settings (app refresh enabled, iOS current version, capacity not limited, etc.) Lastly, I called ATT Tech Support and they documented the problem but couldn’t offer a solution. An unresponsive app is a totally unacceptable state of affairs for a PAID service that promotes itself as a call screening protection service. I’ll probably finish out my first paid month to see if AT&T Call Protect can get its act together. If not, back to RoboKiller..Version: 2.22.0

Not great at blocking spam but does block my contactsI had this app on my phone for 6 months or so.. it worked so so for spam but it was free so I just dealt with it... then in November I started having people(in my contacts) texting me that no matter when they called it never went through.. even to voice mail. I checked the app and saw they were being blocked. So after unblocking them, i deleted the app thinking I solved the problem. But once again I had people in my contacts telling me they could not get ahold of me... so after a visit to AT&T who told me it was a hardware problem and I needed to go to Apple and then going to Apple and them telling me it’s an AT&T problem I’ve spent weeks trying to figure out what was wrong with my phone since none of them could. This app came to my mind so I reloaded it on my phone and there sure enough the phone had still been blocking calls and the whole list was right there showing me who have been blocked in the last 30 days. So evidently even if you delete this app it continues to block your phone calls. Next stop AT&T to find out how I can get this stupid thing off my phone for good..Version: 2.8.4

Unreliable and Nearly UselessThis app is too unreliable to be useful. At least once per day, it forgets that I set up the app and even paid for the upgraded monthly subscription, and asks me for a new PIN to set it up. When it is temporarily working, it doesn’t do what I need anyway. It still lets through any calls from callers with caller ID available. What I really need is a way for all phone calls from callers not in my contacts to go straight to voicemail, but without using the Do Not Disturb feature to do it. DND globally applies to all notifications, not just phone calls, so it is too big of a hammer. The best I can say about this app is that it blocks at least some things, and provides somewhat better caller ID information. If it didn’t forget that it’s activated every day, I might have given it 2 or 3 stars. I think that there are cheaper options than the $3.99/month subscription to get the same results that this app tries and fails to deliver, so I recommend looking at other blocker apps (which also don’t do what I need, but maybe they at least work reliably?).Version: 1.8.0

It worked the first weekThe first week it worked great. But now I’m starting to get all these spam calls coming through Some pop up as “spam risk” but some don’t and even the ones marked as spam are still coming through. I’m not sure what happened after the first week. It has mostly cut down and finally a lot of the ppl quit calling. I was getting spam calls from “Medicare” up to 10 times a day. They would just keep calling from different numbers even though I told them wrong number and quit calling. When I checked the call log on the app- they have mostly quit calling. But now it’s just letting a lot of them through. I’m pretty positive I get more more spam calls now than before. I get several a day. Sometimes 5 in an hour and this doesn’t keep them from coming through. You can report them but it doesn’t really keep anymore from coming through..Version: 2.22.0
