Workouts++ for Positive User Reviews

Love the UI on the iPhoneFinally, a workout app with a customizable UI on the iPhone and a great iPhone app to display the completed workout. I'm enjoying it and uses it daily..Version: 1.0

Update neededGreat app. Would be good if we could add it to the complication phase on watchOS 5.Version: 2.1

OMG. iPhone free podcasts on WatchThis app is like a revelation. Clearly a huge amount of work has gone into it. Finally I can go for a run without my iPhone and listen to podcasts and at the playback speed I choose. Thanks so much!! Can’t wait to explore and use it more!.Version: 2.0

This app makes Watch a great fitness watchThis app makes Apple Watch comparable (better in some ways) to my Garmin Forerunner 620. Option to set goals for distance, pace etc, get haptic feedback. Suggest you go to developers blog, watch the detailed walk through video to understand what app can do. Great app!.Version: 1.0.1

Finally!I don’t write reviews but I’m so impressed with this app I felt compelled too. Workouts++ is the app I’ve been waiting for to untether my new LTE Apple Watch from my iPhone and run while listening to Podcasts. I find running with music boring but with Podcasts I’m engaged in the audio and time flys by. Nice work Developer Dave. A well thought out and designed app 👏🏼.Version: 2.0

Why is this free??This is a great app for tracking workouts. The watch complication options are great and very useful. Listening to podcast is fantastic- thank! But why free??? Surely it’s worth something?!?.Version: 2.0.1

Great features but buggy...I like the app, and love the rotate to pause, customisable screens and rotate to pause... however it fails to record/crashes workouts about 70% of the time... and doesn’t change the paused sign back after unpausing.. if these were fixed it would be 5 Stars easily..Version: 2.0.3

Brilliant Workout AppThis is a great compliment to the suite of fitness apps. I love how easy it is to use and configure custom workouts to see what I need. The summary screen is detailed but not overwhelming with too much data.Version: 1.0

Excellent workout appI love that I can customize screens for each type of workout. This is a rare example of an elegant, full function, user friendly, non-annoying app that is reliable and a delight to use. Why aren’t all apps this good? This app shows what’s possible when a programmer really cares..Version: 2.2.2

Well doneI really like being able to have a large set of data elements and the ability to lay them out in many different ways. If I may make a request, having the ability to see the feet ascended and descended would be great for us hikers. Even if it just calculated the difference between the starting elevation and current elevation..Version: 2.1

Best Apple Watch Workout App AvailableIs there room for improvement. Sure. BUT the best deserves 5 stars. This is the only stand alone Apple Watch app with heart rate triggered feedback and customizable display for your workout. Quick swipe to the right to get to music. Amazing and simple!!!.Version: 2.1.1

Needs Weight Lifting OptionThis is my go to app for tracking my elliptical workouts but it would be even more useful if I could start a new session once I start lifting weights to track calories and heart rate on that part of my workout as well. That would be a welcome addition on future updates and make this a five star app..Version: 1.0.1

Amazing app! This app is so so so awesome! You can tell the developer is passionate about his work and helping others track and record their fitness. Would love to see mapping and distance to the hundredth of a mile. Overall this is a great app and perfect running partner..Version: 1.0.1

Simple and brilliantThis is a really simple but useful app for recording exercise data. I love the options you have to display your data and add more or show less details like time, kms, pace etc. great app.Version: 2.0.3

Awesome AppThis app is great. I love how you can customise your most common exercises and layout the contents on the watch in a way that suits you best. The built in workout app has some flexibility, but Workouts++ takes it to another level. Fantastic app!.Version: 1.0

What Workout app should beI have to say the screens are awesome including graphs as you are running. Customization are so advanced and can accommodate all needs. Would love to see heart rate zones based on max heart rate but other than that everything works just perfect. Thank you developer for such a great workout app. Already gifting people around me....Version: 1.0.1

Great mod for the Apple WatchI never do reviews. But this app deserves it! This finally gives the Apple Watch the functionality and customization that it needed. There are so many options and ways to change things around it’s staggering. My personal favorites are a HR graph and the ability to have the HR change colors based on values that I choose. Thanks! Please keep this app updated as I will continue to use and recommend it to others!.Version: 2.2.2

New userInterface is clean and the app is great. Thanks for all that you do. Under the Workouts tab of the app, please allow the user to select the workout logged/listed then manually update the Workout Type and Calories Burned content..Version: 2.1

Buggy update needs some fixesThis update disappointed me. I use this app to track my swimming workouts. Now I have to choose between 2 rotary fields and the app does not remember the last choice . Later edit : after accessing the configure tab on iPhone the workout list on the watch app updated itself to the old list . I also noticed that the app will not record a 2 lap swim , also the lap counter is constantly 2 laps behind ( but it records the distance correctly after finishing the workout ). Also the app does not display the last workout track ( I saw this both for biking and for outdoor swimming ) . The track magically appears after you do another workout . I know the app is free but I hope you get to iron out the bugs because the app is really nice ..Version: 2.1

Fantastic flexible workouts appA great free, with no strings, alternative to apples workouts app for Apple Watch. You can really customise the workout screen to show exactly what you want. It also lets you add Podcasts to the watch to listen to even when you've left your phone at home. The iPhone app pulls in data from other workout apps too so you can see all your activity in one place. Brilliant!.Version: 2.0.2

Takes the crown!I wish more apps used the Digital Crown like this one does. I was tired of fumbling with Apple’s Workout app when running in the rain or with sweaty hands. Also, I look forward to having some podcasts to listen to during my long runs. This app perfectly addresses the shortcomings of Apple’s Workout app. Thank you!!!.Version: 2.0.3

Excellent alternative to Watch’s built-in appI’ve been using various gadgets since 2007 to help me maintain my desired weight and level of fitness. I took a Polar watch and chest strap to Iraq; I’ve tried a Garmin and a Fitbit; I tried a WiThings whatever-it’s-called. Apple Watch has worked the best for me, if used in conjunction with Workouts++. The app is a joy to use. The user interface is friendly, the feedback is excellent, and the power drain is tolerable. I couldn’t ask for more..Version: 2.1

Lacks route infoI like this app but, unlike the Apple Watch native app, it doesn’t record the actual route map. So you won’t get the GPS info if you don’t have a Series 2 — even if you bring along your iPhone. And because the iPhone app doesn’t record runs (like, say, Runkeeper) and only displays the info, you won’t get the GPS info there either. So I’m going back to the native app. I'm giving it 4 stars because I don't know if Apple even lets developers pull GPS info and merge it with their third party data..Version: 1.0.1

Fantastic metrics and more workoutsI'm writing up a LONG review for my podcast but wanted to give a quick shoutout about how cool the graphs and stats are in Workouts++. Granular control of what the screen shows while working out is HUGE..Version: 1.0.1

Love this app! But stopped working???I used this app for every workout, until the other day when it failed to track distance on my bike ride. Since then, it hasn’t tracked distance travelled in any workout. What I love about this app are the graphs that I get to view DURING my workout. And also the fact that there is more possible metrics I can view. Hopefully deleting and reinstalling the app works out..Version: 2.1

Just what I was looking forThis app is easy to use and quick to get setup. The watch app is awesome too, just open it and click a workout. 5/5 - Would recommend.Version: 1.0.1

Worked fine until watch 6 versionI really like this app for monitoring my statistics while working out. I give it 4 stars - subtracting one for errors in recording heart rate after the new watch OS 6. The display on the watch no longer shows BPM. Up until the update for 6 it did fine. Curiously the status show in the phone app but not on the watch..Version: 2.2.1

Fantastic app, if only GPS workedThis would be a 5 star review if only the gps would work and the workout route be saved. The stats are excellent per workout and across all I have recorded. If the dev can get the workouts recording consistently then this is an exceptional app.Version: 2.1

Must-haveI don’t do many of the stock Activity workouts, so being able to customize what Workouts++ has on the default screen is a great boon. The audio controls in the app are great as well. It’s one of very few apps that get a complication on one of my main watch faces..Version: 2.1.1

Great alternative to the regular appI was looking for alternative choices to the standard workout app, and this one seemed like a great option: not too complex, but a nice feature set with good customisability. The only feature that I'd like that is currently missing is location tracking. If and when that lands, this will be the best workout app on the App Store..Version: 1.0.1

Really good bug fix updateThis was a good bug fix update. My review below stays the same but no more bugs. I'm still really loving this app. It's a great tool for run training. V1 review: Worthy of the ++ designation Forget flashy design and marketing. The developer understands runners and training. This app is a cut above the stock workouts app and offers functionality that is missing from the big name running apps. The ability to customize the interface is nice, but haptic feedback and dynamic color changes for run metrics put it over the top! I have wanted an app that allowed for speed zone and heart rate zone training on the watch. I haven't been this excited about an app in quite some time. Now my AppleWatch is a real training tool! There are some minor interface bugs and glitches. You can setup multiple interfaces with the same name. If you do the iPhone app will not maintain a consistent sort order and the watch interface will flicker on launch. I assume these will be fixed in future versions. There are no major bugs. This is a great app I have two hopes for a future release. 1) Allow for more zones on the pace and heart rate sliders. 2) Add a metric for cadence..Version: 1.0.1

Great app needs updated with iOS 13Great application! Love it, just as mentioned in the previous review, heart rate does not seem to display after updating to the latest iOS! Looking forward to an update to continue using this application!.Version: 2.2.1

Great app until this last releaseThis is my favorite watch app for recording my workouts but after this latest release it's picking up but not displaying my HR. I have to restart my watch to get it to work, then it works a few days and stops again. The built in workouts displays just fine but it doesn't show the same level of detail. I'm hoping this issue gets fixed soon..Version: 2.2.1

Tremendous potential!!Finally a solution that includes a stopwatch! Beats stock Apple workout app on Apple Watch! For anyone doing resistance training and require a stop watch and heart rate.. this app is for you!! Please add music screen and this app is truly complete! Can even stream podcasts on Apple Watch!.Version: 2.1

Game changerThis app is everything I’ve watched in a workout app, ++has podcasts which no one seems to be able to get right on the watch. Podcast sync seamlessly. Only feature request I see now is auto pause for runs. Additional feature request: Export.Version: 2.0.1

Unit metricsHey Dave Occasionally when the app is updated it returns the units back to Miles instead of KMs. Eventually it fixes it self but I’ll usually go for a 5 mile run instead of 5km!.Version: 2.2.2

Workouts+++Its a good app but does not alway register the workout with the activity app properly like today done an hour and it clocked up 27mins.Version: 1.0.1
