✓ Dont waste your moneyThey can only go back and add 90 days worth of transactions... not complete history.. And at that, the next time you turn your computer on.. it will FORGET all those settings you worked forever to set up for all your accounts, forcing you to delete and start over 3 TIMES in frustration. ✓ No tutorial or instructionsThis app looks to be exactly what I’m looking for so I purchased and downloaded it. Problem is there is no tutorial or instructions on how to get started. They have online help but responses have not provided the information required to move forward. I have looked on YouTube, etc. to no avail. Several hours later, I am no further ahead. ✓ Miss the oldWow, I loved the old Money. It let me enter multiple currencies and use Cyrillic and Latin scripts for my payees. The new Money just shows questions marks for the merged Cyrillic characters. The new ugly interface has huge fonts with little information per page. The beautiful tags that were on the old transactions have been replaced by “#blue” or whichever color tag I’d used previously. When I try to enter new transactions, the app asked me to purchase a monthly subscription. When I click “restore purchases” the app crashes. I have deleted and downloaded twice. When I tried to write support on their webpage and submitted my complaint I got the message “page not found.”.Version: 5.3.4

✓ Inaccurate Data ImportingI downloaded this app following a review in Mac Format magazine, however I have been unable to import any accounts data accurately. I have ried to import electronically from my online banking service. Once the import had been completed, I checked it against the online account and found that the balance in Money didn't match the balance on the online account. Checking back on historic transactions, I couldn't find a single point where the Money app balance matched the online balance. Another problem I experienced was that I wasn't given the opportunity to define a period for which I wanted transactions to be downloaded. So I deleted the account from the app and tried to do a manual import from an Excel csv file. This didn't work either as the app didn't recognise the income and deposit entries into the account, treating them all as withdrawals. I have spent several hours trying to reconcile the discrepancies but have now given up and will be cancelling my subscription before the free trial ends..Version: 5.6.9
✓ ChaoticFor those who had release 4 it is hard to understand why 5 was allowed to be inflicted on its users. The import routine generated numerous errors. The user manual is very limited. ✓ Too many problemsThis looked like a good alternative to Banktivity and Moneydance, unfortunately there are too many problems with it: 1. Import from Moneydance changed all my GBP funds to USD 2. There was no way to add fees to an investment account 3. It is impossible to set up splits on scheduled transactions in the Mac version - ironicly you can do it in the iOS version 4 Open banking for UK downloaded a whole load of transactions from my credit card with transaction references rather than payees and there is no mechanism for matching them to existing transactons in the register. Fortueately, I took a free trial which I've now cancelled..Version: 5.6.10

✓ Read the policy for before signingWhen you sign the policy you grant them access to a lot of information, and I mean A LOT. There are better money management options out there. I’d recommend Mint.com it’s free, easy to use, no over intrusive information grabbing for personal gain. Or at least not as bad as that 😂.Version: 7.1
✓ PoorDownloading from withtin the software is unreliable and usually I have to do it manaully by logging on to my bank (UK). Any Category data that comes from the bank will be added automatically and this feature can't be turned off which means endless hours of re categorising and deleting unwanted categories at every download. Setting up Category rules is manual and extremely tedious. A definite dont buy..Version: 6.0.11
✓ Doesn't make senseI was looking to replace another software package that I was using. I was even willing to deal with the fact that I can't share management with my spouse without being on the same device. Initially, it kept crashing, even after an update was pushed out stating it was supposed to fix the crashing. The automatic download for accounts is buggy. You need to be able to turn off the icon for the payee aspect. You have to use a time to order the transactions instead of just dragging them. The worst part of the application is the budgeting system. With other budgeting apps I used, an expenses and returns from a category is simple. You buy something under "clothing" then use the same category to return money to the pot. It's not so simple. I could work around the other things I call a problem, but this issue is at the core of what the software is supposed to do. I do not recommend people use this software at this time..Version: 5.6.6
✓ Concept not badI like the idea of connecting with onine banks and other types of accounts, but i find this software to be lacking. I have no idea as to how or when my added account transactions are updated. I like that it recognizes places spent and catergorizes it and logo of where you spent money is a nice addition. I I have been using the Dollardbird Pro which is amazing with it's calendar being able to see your account balances for the month after you customize your bills and income. I tried to use the Money app but i love Dollarbird by far. Now only if Dollarbird would add the option to link accounts like this app does..Version: 7.0.9

✓ Still not useable don’t upgrade yetI used to use Money 4. It was great except its problematic syncing via Dropbox. I was so confident about the greatness of the new version that I even did not check the reviews. I upgraded to ver 5 yesterday to find it crashed whenever I scrolled through the transactions. Today Sumsoft released ver 5.0.1 and I thought the problems were solved. But after updating I found I could not see any transactions in my accounts that are saved in the iCloud. The account list is empty despite it shows the balance of the account in the left menu. I have informed Jumsoft and I am waiting for the update. I also cannot understand why Jumsoft has removed so many useful customization options. In this regard I agree with the other reviewers. I hope the next update makes me to increase the rating for this previousely great software..Version: 5.0.1

✓ Not as good as MS moneyWhen i was no longer able to use MS Money i had to find a replacement. I dont find this as intuitive and there are things i dont seem to be able to do easily on the mobile app (reconcile, schedule from existing transaction) but my major grip is when i want to move the coming months scheduled payments into the various accounts so i can see the position of my account through to the end of the month it insisits on putting them all in 'today'. and i have to edit each one as i do it back to the correct future date (and for this i need to use two instances as i forget what date it is)! I have about 40 transactions each month so it is more than mildly annoying!.Version: 6.0.3
✓ Upgrade is waste of moneyI have been using Money for long time and latest version I have was Money 4. With every iOS update I would loose some functionallity but it was managable. With BigSur I could not import transaction from my Credit card account, so I tried to upgrade to latest version 6. OMG what a waste of money. New version has so many more bugs. I imported all and tried to back up on cloud when all info disappeared. After trying to reimport again scheduler would have some things scheduled and I am not able to delete. ✓ Nice but confusing......I'm in the UK. There is no documentation for how you would use pensions that I can find. I'm also frustrated by the lack of documentation on how to transfer funds between accounts without doubling up on entries when the accounts are synced. ✓ Very disappointing at so many levelsI was very disappointing in this product and the lack of service and support. first i am a freelancer and needed software that can do business reports that you could do in money4 but not money5. This software would probably be just ok for personal accounting. However it in no way works for anything more demanding. I was very disappointed in the reporting area and its now far too simple with alot of functionality taken out of the software. second there are no supporting documents and i feel that this is because the software is so limited. with no trials you don’t know this until you bought the software. third there is no communication from jumsoft. i contacted support the day after i bought the program and have never received a reply. i feel like i was ripped off by this product. ✓ DON’T BUY - NOT FIT FOR PURPOSEVery disappointed with this upgrade. As one of the previous reviewers has said, the changes are purely cosmetic in many ways. The worst change is that you cannot see a running balance. This is such a basic feature of any financial package that I just can’t believe it has been left off. I need to know the daily balance to ensure that when things are getting a bit tight in one of my accounts I can move money in to ensure I do not get into debt. This upgrade is little more than usless and not fit for purpose. I’m also annoyed that there is no mention of the change in features on the web site before you spend £25. ✓ Amending SchedulerGenerally I find the programme straightforward to use. However, amending the Scheduler is very irritating as rarely works first time. Also would like to write my own reports which can't be done. Neither was an issue with previous versions of te programme.Version: 7.0
✓ Imported Money 4 File full of errorsVersion 5.2.4 Has version 5.2.4 resolved the bugs? Tried to upgrade from Money 4 in December. The imported file had only some 70% of scheduled transactions and errors in account balances with many previously reconciled transactions in Money 4 showing as unreconciled in Money 5. Trying to re reconcile increased the account balance error. Not all the accounts transferred. Tried deleting an reinstalling same problems although not the same errors. Fortunately I have still my Money 4 file and will continue to use it until Money 5 is sorted out. Contacted Jumsoft. They wanted me to send the my Money file and screen shots of Money 5 and Money 4 suggesting it might be errors in my Money 4 file.. As the file contains personal data I am unwilling to comply..Version: 5.2.4
✓ Good app with buggy premium features!I am using money for years and it was a great tool when I was entering expenses/incomes by myself. The problem started when I decided to pay to use their premium online features that pulls in information directly from my US bank accounts! It was initially good, but in last 4-5 month I have too many issues with this service. It switches income and expenses for my credit cards and I need to add "balance adjustment" regularly without knowing what went wrong! Customer service response are note helpful and for premium feature they refer me to provider who connect online banks to money and they always are saying that provider said every thing is working without any issue! I am thinking premium service and start tracking expenses/income by myself like old days! GOod luck with geting back refund for buggy premium feature as it seems impossible!.Version: 6.0.7

✓ What happened to this software?Was happy with money 4, but no idea what happened to an app that was easy and quick to use. the merge function for categories doesn’t seem to work. imported my data from money 4 and my categories are spread all over the place. the result is my reports are impractical. also, was a money 4 user, hate, hate, hate that I cannot select transactions and edit information for multiples at one time. seriously ridiculous. so aggravating. would have never upgraded. another bothersome change is not being able to easily reorder transactions by category or payee, examples: list payees alphabetically or reorder amounts either ascending or descending in value. seriously, what happened?? it was so simple on the previous version. can’t believe I paid for the service. please fix this app..Version: 5.3.3
✓ MehI wanted personal finance software that did not live in the cloud, so this was the best choice for Mac. Downloading transactions is dodgy from time to time as the software is unable to connect via their third party to download transactions. Give it an hour or two and whatever connectivity issue exists is usually resolved (but should I have to wait when I'm paying for the service?). If you record a paycheck where you have both gross income and deductions all of the line items are recorded as income - so taxes, insurance premiums, etc. show up as income in the reports vs. showing as expenses. Solution is to create a line item for gross income, followed by a seaparate transaction for deductions (really?). It does the job, but hardly elegant or a good user experience..Version: 5.6.2
✓ Disappointing UpgradeI have been using Money version 4 for a considerable time and have been very happy with. I decided to upgrade to Version 5 because 4 no longer had the investment update ability. Purchased 5 and have been totally unimpressed with how it is presented and how difficult it is to use compared to the old version, it even dod not import my data correctly from version 4. ✓ Sync does not work between Mac & iPhoneI really want this app to work because it would do exactly what I want - allow me to have it on my Mac, iPad & iPhone, enter a transaction on any device and then icloud syncs the transaction between all 3 devices. However, that does not work. My iphone and Mac are regularly showing different balances and I am continually having to wipe data and resetting. ✓ Frustrating. No Control over layout and transactions, and Unable to use after purchase?Not as much control as the older versions. Reports are seriously lacking in the new version, and the UI/UX is awful when trying to control these reports. All they allow is a few simple controls, not as useful anymore - and it's a mini dropdown where you have to continuously scroll in this little tiny box to select/deselect what you want. And there's hardly any reports available now. I REALLY REALLY miss the old version!! This is such a Total disappointment. ✓ TellboyI find the searching for transactions with a monetary value confusing. If you ask for < 50 you get -49 as well as 49. Surely this is incorrect. If you ask for values > 0 you should only get income amounts not expense amounts as well. It's as though the app disregards the minus sign. (I finally figured it out but not clear in manual how to do this). It could do with the reporting being improved. For example a simple chart with summarised data for a category for each year, I can't see how to accomplish this. I can achieve it by month for one year but not by year for a number of years. Say Category is 'Food' how do you present a chart or table summing 'Food' or any other category showing the total for each of the last five years (or any number of years) I noticed the developer response below and confirm you can compare by Years in the Budget section. However, this is not a report is very small in the popover and I cannot see anywhere to printout this chart. On another issue it would be good to have the bar data above individual bars but I cannot find this anywhere either. This means it's difficult to get a chart only printout with the data values. Is there a forum for all this stuff or will this review just get longer and longer?.Version: 5.6.10

This version has removed the ability to fully automate scheduled transactions which I used a lot, is a lot less user friendly, and is not as easy to understand. ✓ Very DisapointingI find this version of money from jumpsoft far too complicated for the basic needs of a family accounting system in my opinion. If you are a bookkeeper or trained accountent I am sure it is pretty good. However not for me. It is also disapointing that one cannot use the earlier versions of money on updated Apple hardware. They now without makeing it obvious get you to use this version and after you have carried out 100 transations without letting you know at the begining sudenly stop all additional transactions. So the time you have tried to learn this version is wasted. One month is not long enough to experiance this more complicated version of money. You now have to pay for the updated version at a cost of arround £50 a year. It is typical of companies dangeling the fishing line and when you bite they then stop the service unless you pay. Why carnt all developers of apps be open and up front with their fees and costs before you spend hours and hours trying to learn new software. They should allow at least 3 months of unlimited use to see if it suited for you before start charging..Version: 7.0.10
✓ NOT a free appAfter manually inputting 50 transactions, because my financial institutions aren’t listed, the software has LOCKED ME OUT from adding any more. Appaarently they want to make money on my transactions by 1) limiting how many I can input 2) charging $35 for unliminted transactions 3) charging $65 for premium (in order to have access to my banks). That to me sounds like I have to pay $100 in order to unlock this app. NOT FREE! This is a trial and it comes to a hard end..Version: 5.6.10
✓ This app makes managing your own money - PAINFUL!!!!!This software makes ZERO sense...there are no users accounts, so you pay for the MacOS application and if you want to do anything on the iOS app...pay again. The software doesn't even remember what bank an online account is tied too. Go and setup to download transactions for your accounts. Great....but update it tomorrow. You start all over again. You have to painfully go through the process of finding your bank again, forget remembering usernames or password...or talking to your password app. The app is very painful to use. ✓ Worthless for meI downloaded this over the weekend and tried to enter an account. It wanted me to pay, so I got the 30 day trial. I tried again with my bank, found it, but wouldn't connect. ✓ Loses account entries - now fixed, but still problemsWhen I first installed Money 5 and imported my accounts from Money 4, the import lost the last six months of mu account entries. With perseverance I solved the problem. I completely unistalled Money 5 and then re-installed. I then imported my accounts from Money 4 again and this time the import was good. However, there are still problems with this app. 1. Sometimes does not save a new entry or does not save all the data for that new entry. You then have to edit the entry to make sure all the data is there. 2. The app has crashed a couple of times and reports have been sent to Apple. 3. If there is no syncing with the iPad app then you have to switch off iCloud on both apps. You then switch iCloud on the Mac OS app first, then switch iCloud on iOS app second. This seems to get both apps talking and syncing with each other. It worked for me. Just imported my Money 4 account file into the Money 5 app and the import has LOST the last six months of entries on every bank and credit account. Not a very good start for an app that is supposed to make home accounting simple..Version: 5.0.3

✓ Buggy Garbage!Cannot believe all the positive reviews here. My credit card accounts are a constant problem with this app. They'll import correctly, then when I update a day or two later it turns all my purchases into "income" and all my refunds to "expenses", throwing off the card balance and making the budget useless as all the totals are wrong. I've contacted jumsoft several times and no one is able to figure out what's going on, support is terrible. They really need to figure out how to support credit card accounts where the balance is what you owe vs a bank account where the balance is how much you have, their software has no ability to recognize that..Version: 6.0.6

✓ Huge leap away from the old appI used to really like the old version of Money. I liked the budgeting bars so you could see where you were at, and I liked having my assets shown as part of my net worth. These two features appear to have been lost along the way, unless of course I didn’t read the manual. The layout is very clean, a bit too clean for my liking, however it feels like was made this millenium which the previous version clearly wasn’t. As this is very early release i’m hoping it will gain features and creases will be ironed out. I’ve already spotted a couple of bugs like Total not changing straight away when a transaction is entered etc..Version: 5.1.2
✓ Epic failThere are so many things I dislike already including the obscenely huge font and the loss of the single nice and tidy workshop that has the account balance at the bottom. The column view no longer exists and the design team has opted for a totally different interface. If I could get my money back I most surely would. ✓ Frustrating user experience - do not use if you want to track investmentsI hve been a long user of money and v4 worked perfectly for me and i held off upgrading as long as i could. Version 6 is utterly unusable if you invest in UK mutual funds. Trying to add an ISIN to get the currency to work in GBP is infuriatingly difficult and for the funds it does recognise locating the correct fund class is made a lottery because the drop dwon box is not expandable so you can see the full name of the stock. The portfolio screen doesnt even have a simple nuermical total for the investments..Version: 6.0.18
✓ Incredibly frustratedI have used this APP for years. When I was able to use icloud to sync it worked perfectly across my MACBook, iPad, and IPhone. Now it won’t sync my MACBook, which means you can’t manually reconcile the account. I just purchased the premium hoping it would allow me to use my MAC for sync to ICloud, but it still doesn’t work. I really don’t care about direct downloads, use this to track my expenses and to forecast. It’s worthless now..Version: 5.3.5
✓ Awful.Awful. Just awful. This latest version of Jumsoft Money (5.x) is practially unusable. The new “simplified interface” removes or makes previous features difficult to find and use. AND, after buying it, you must PAY AGAIN inside the app for a subscription to get “premium features.” Are you kidding me? Importing downloaded data from my bank should NOT be a PAID PREMIUM feature. ✓ Too many bugs :(I came from Mint, and I try to like the app. However there were way too many bugs, inconsistencies, transactions not appearing (e.g. on the budget total it says one amount, but clicking on the all transactions reveal another amount), way too many crashes (like a couple of times a day). Too slow even for a powerful Mac Mini that I have (with 64GB of RAM). If the developer reach out to me and explain to me why am I getting all these bugs, I'll be happy to change my review. ✓ Shows promise, but needs more time to mature.This is a complete rewrite of Money 4 and is very different. The new layout shows promise, and the syncing with the iOS version seems to be much improved, but there's still several crashing issues and a propensity to use discrete graphics that prevents this from being a replacement for Money 4 just yet. ✓ Missing features in V6Just in case anyone in Jumsoft is reading; There used to be an option in v5 when setting up regular payments you could check "Pay Automatically" and on the date this transaction would move to the account selected. Perfect for people, like myself, who pay a lot of bills by direct debit or standing order. This facility is no longer available in v6 which seems strange as it was an option before. Now I have to access Money every day to pay my direct debits, if I miss a day or 2 then the default payment date becomes the current day which is most likely inaccurate. ✓ GarbageReplaced another personal accounting app with Money. Interface was not at all intuitive. Basically all functionality is lumped under "Categories." Took me ages to figure out this was how to make a transfer between my accounts. Supper p***ed that I only got 100 transactions on the free version. Couldn't find info on how much Premium would cost anywhere, but basically sunk loads of time entering my 100 transactions across a few months, only to find out I won't be continuing with Premium. Now I have to hunt for another finance app and reenter all my months' worth of data into it, whenever I find it. Garbage, garbage, garbage. Run away now!.Version: 7.0.30
✓ DisappointingI use my credit card Tangerine Bank. I get cashback on all transactions. When transfered the transaction into Money, the app. took the amount of cashback as a transaction instead of the real amount. Ex: Grocery 200$ cash back 4$. Money took the 4$ as the principal transaction. I can't create my own account name..Version: 6.0.4

✓ It's okUpgraded into this version from Money 4 because Money 4 does not work well with OS Catalina. Nice UI, but this version of Money is lacking a lot of the reporting options. It only have 1 consolidated report instead of mutiple user built reports, and there is only 1 master filtering option applicable to the whole report instead of having individual filtering option for each section of the report Guess I will have to stuck with it now.....Version: 5.6.10
✓ Oh DearThis is now a free app (with limited functionality) but it is still a waste of time. IMHO it is the worst financial app EVER! As an aid to maintaining your finances it is useless and incomprehensible. Download it and have a go importing a QIF - Doesn’t work as amounts are displayed incorrectly (decimal point misplaced). I cannot be bothered to say any more about this piece of rubbish. Had to give it a 1 star rating but even that is too generous..Version: 5.3
✓ Disaster of an AppThis app literary does not work. I’ve had it for almost a year and have been going back and forth with Salt Edge (guys that help with the actual banking side) non of my banks are able to be synced. Been trying to sort it out for ages, but many months later nothing works! I want all my money back..Version: 7.0.27
✓ Promising but does not explain "Free" as in trialInitially I was looking for an application to manage my finance without having to link my personal bank accounts. I stumbled across money and at first I saw the user interface looking clean, reporting feature useful, and of course the offline feature to manually add my transactions. At first, the application looks promising by providing everything that I could need and best price of all "free." I spent the last 4 hours entering my transactions and bank information into the application. During the last 4 hours i've dealt with the bugs of the application crashing but also had the idea that the app was "free" so why shoud I complain right? Come to find out after several hours later and transactions I would be prompted to subscribe for me to continue. Had I known this up front - I would have stayed away in the first place instead of wasting my time. I get it - its a business and its a decent app. For other people who dont mind paying for it kudos to you to as well. I don't see anything wrong with paying for services like this. The problem I have is not being aware of it in the first place and after several hours later being prompted to pay. Please let future customers know that this is a trial for "x" amount of transactions..Version: 5.6.9
✓ Full of bugs seriously lacking in testing before releaseI upgraded from Money 4 to Money 5 and have encountered so many bugs since doing so. After reporting one such bug and being told that it had been fixed I reimported my data as I was instructed to do and all on my account balances we massively out, apparently there are other issues with the import feature and I should not have used it! I obviously paid for this software and am totally disappointed that a software company have released a new software version without fully testing it, it’s simple testing that has let what was once a really good product down, had Jumsoft give the release to a few people to run in parallel with version 4 I’m sure many if not all of the issues and bugs would have been found prior to a ‘live’ release. As I result I have spent numerous hours manually correcting balance and data issues (this should not be my job!) I would avoid buying this software until all the issues are fully resolved and I would also be very cautious of big future updates / developments unless Jumsoft sort their Develpment and User Acceptance Testing out..Version: 5.2.3

✓ They dumbed it down and now...... added a subscription. What a surprise! Another new app that does less than it's previous version. Just one example, csv export has been removed. Look on their website for a 'what's new in this version' and currently, you won't find a list of new features probably because there aren't any. It's a UI polish (yes, everything is bigger) and a dumbing down..Version: 5.3
✓ Really disappointed with the app's performance.I used to use the money app a year ago and was quite satisfied with it's result. I decided to give it a go again. Managed my time to sit down and create entry and all the recurring payments. Paid for the subscription to have a Bank account connected and as soon as I add 1 transaction, the app crashed and won't open. I tried uninstalling and instaling app and still it won't open. I had to delete all the files using app cleaner, started my app. Everything I modified is gone, even the iCloud Backus, all the banks, recurring payments gone. I restarted the work again. Spent about an hour on app trying to re-organise everything. Added Banks and one transaction, BAM app crashes again. At this point I can't be arsed to do it again to have a same result I'd rather switch to differernt app. I am going to get rid of the subscription. This is annoying..Version: 6.0.12

✓ ClunkyI downloaded the iPad version of Money, Budget & Finance in February 2023. I live in Canada. The bank syncing worked well but the stock trading syncing was a mess. The app was not straightforward, it was difficult to navigate. I deleted the app and moved on. Thankfully , I was on a free trial period..Version: 7.0.19
