Fabulous: Daily Habit Tracker for Negative User Reviews

Not my thing!I’m trying to spend LESS time on my screen so I’ve decided to go another way. Pen and paper journaling, goals and checklists rather than an app. I’m annoyed because there are all these hidden charges and it’s not very easy to cancel!!!! I’m done with this bad idea..Version: 1.49.1

PeachMarketing this to people who are not well is fantastic- But making them fill out a profile, watch a video about how much better their life is going to be- and then telling them they can only have it if they pay right now (NO WHERE IS IT STATED THAT THIS IS A PAID APP), is monstrous. Lock them out and throw a feast, right? I wasted so much time- I can’t afford this, I’m NOT the only one, and forcing people to suffer another disappointment by PURPOSEFULLY withholding the fact that you are expensive is not only disrespectful, but it is frankly dangerously irresponsible for a company that poses to hold mental health and wellness for all people as paramount. I feel far far worse now after trying to seek help by following your Instagram advertisement than I did before- and trust me- that’s saying a lot. Probably don’t be liars by withholding, if you can possibly help it. You hurt folks and that’s not alright..Version: 1.25.0

Promising… but needs workI used subscribed to Fabulous’ annual plan but decided to delete the app after 9 weeks. It has a really nice central idea for an app - build better habits - and some of the design work is beautiful and very inspiring. There are two main problems with the app that make it fundamentally unusable in the long-term: 1. The UI is exceptionally cluttered. The central feature of the habit tracker is buried beneath layers of coaching videos, daily poems, social “circles”. The clean, simple idea at the heart of the app is lost amidst a bunch of other ideas that seem to have just been thrown in (and without much care or design time, at that). 2. The routines the app helps develop are overly-prescriptive. I.e. Fabulous makes it so that you will develop the routines that Fabulous thinks are best for you. At first, this is helpful as the habits are exceptionally broad (e.g. drink water immediately upon waking up every morning) but not everyone necessarily wants to “eat a fabulous breakfast” or meditate. I feel a bit harsh at giving a rating of only 2 stars but I think it’s appropriate as the app really isn’t yet developed enough to do what it needs to. I’d encourage the developers to look at apps like DuoLingo to see how a clean, simple interface can work in a coaching app..Version: 1.41.1

Terrible company and customer service. This company is in the business of stealing people’s money. Not only is their app ridiculously expensive, they don’t offer refunds for accidental auto renewal, or if you did not like the app. EVERY other company I have ever had experience with will offer refunds if you are not happy with their service, if it did not meet your expectations, and especially if you were accidentally paying for an app for an entire year beyond when you ever even opened the app. It is clear to me that they cannot afford to be in this business if they are going to rob their customers of their money when they aren’t happy with the service. Again, I have experience with many many apps and services and everytime I have asked for a refund I get it, no. questions. asked. The fact that this company has the audacity to tell me they are keeping my money when I don’t even have the app still downloaded on my phone is mind blowing to me. Get out of this business, you aren’t helping people, you are robbing me. My auto renewal was on Dec 30th and I emailed them days later. they are keeping my money for the entire 2020 year. I could understand if they maybe kept one month but refunded me the rest but to keep this ENTIRE year of my money when I’ve been very clear with them I am not using this app is just ridiculous. Do not support this company, they clearly do not care about their customers whatsoever..Version: 1.28.0

Very useful content, but interface is confusingI started on this journey on a 7-day trial. There is some very useful content for self-improvement, but the interface is not intuitive/user-friendly. Examples: - Morning routines set for weekdays still appear in weekends. - No ability to set a separate routine for weekends. - Undertaking challenges, but the task details (contracts/commitments, reflections) are only sometimes able to be recorded in the app. For me, the key to successful habit change is making these things simple..Version: 1.42.7

It’s a love/hate thingLove the style and the stories, hate the endless notifications and lack of ability to customise. There’s too much happening and it’s overwhelming, but it’s either all or nothing - there’s not a gradual scale up or down which would really help..Version: 1.46.3

***RIPOFF***SCAM***THIEVESTried this app last year and didn’t find it all that motivating. No worries…everyone has their preferences. Forgot to cancel before my free 30 day trial was up. No worries…that’s on me. But I made sure to go in and cancel right away so I wouldn’t make the same mistake again. Imagine my surprise when I started getting ‘payment failed’ emails after the one year anniversary of the expiration of my free trial. Like, enough emails to be considered harassment. So finally, I responded to one of them and reminded them that they did not have an active credit card on file because I was no longer an active account holder. I received an automatic response saying how much they value me as a customer and they’ll try to get back to me as soon as they can, but they’re super busy. No worries - they can never get back to me as far as I’m concerned - the whole point of my email was that I was trying to get them to STOP contacting me. SOOO…imagine my surprise when I checked my credit card statement today and found that a week after my email that they were too busy to respond to, they MIRACULOUSLY found my credit card information and charged my account for another year!!! NOT fabulous. SNEAKY and UNETHICAL!! Oh, and if you’re wondering if they ever responded to my email…they did not. Too busy looking for my unauthorized credit card information, I imagine. So, unless you want a lifelong relationship with this company, I cannot advise signing up..Version: 1.39.0

Regret itYou can tell some thought went into this app but it has been executed poorly. Way over priced. Just navigating it takes ages. UI is uncomfortable to look at and to use. Advertised as gamification which is far from true. I wanna set small goals for myself but instead I’m told I have to do dumb challenges and when I do it I have to pick “3 superpowers”. What’s this about? I don’t want to get my friends involved in ur silly games and I don’t want to look in the mirror and tell myself “I can do it”. I also don’t want to use the app every single day either but this is essential. Annoying. Whole app feels like it’s aimed at women also. Please work harder on this app for the people. Lower the price. Change the weird aesthetic and the stupid name while your at it. Give more control to the user instead of asking them to do stuff they don’t want to..Version: 1.41.4

Two active subscriptionsSo I initially signed up for the trial and with yearly subscription after. The app was too complicated design wise but basic in features to begin with, I guess... So I looked to cancel whilst still during trial and chose one of the ,save user, options: we will charge you for a month only to give it a longer try. I thought... With so many good reviews I should give it a try. But now I have been charged the yearly fee still and have also showing an active subscription for a monthly plan in my store subscriptions section... And trying to report the problem to Apple was rather bad too. I had a free text field to submit my issue and an automated answer told me I am not eligible for refund with no option of contesting it or ways I can find support. Awful experience if you ask me! From app ( their payment features don't work properly) and app store (which for a good design company... Bad UX not allowing me to contest an automated answer!).Version: 1.22.2

Bad appConstantly crashes, pesters for ‘free trial’ signups which are a quick way to lock you into a non refundable 1 year subscription. Scummy developers.Version: 1.49.1

Horrible design for those with ADHDI had this app previously and found it really useful for helping me stick with healthy habits, as I struggled with as someone with ADHD. This is the reason I decided to get it again. Unfortunately, changes that have been made since, which I’m pretty sure are purely around increasing engagement, include blocking the route to access your habits with a bunch of distracting tiles. I have used these features in the past and some are really good, however my primary purpose for accessing the app is to have a quick checklist of the habits I’m trying to maintain. Sometimes, I get so distracted I forgot why I even opened the app and then forget to check what habits I was meant to be doing, rendering the app useless in these situations. Ironically, this design probably is increasing engagement if you are only looking at metrics such as time spent in the app. Also ironically, I’m pretty sure habit forming apps are extremely popular with people with ADHD given issues with memory, organisation etc. in fact I just googled “adhd and habit forming apps” and you had the second ad space. For the love of god, please remove the distractions so people can use the app for its intended purpose..Version: 1.41.1

ReviewI bought this app almost a year ago. I fell for it. It took long to set up and I thought this app was an all in one solution to track my daily routines and things to do. It was complicated to set up and I added alot of the habits. The trial wasn’t helpful. I continued past the trial period and decided to give this a chance because of its cosmetic attributes and sounds. I knew this app had a lot of weaknesses and some promising strengths. But to launch this app with so many complications for the price I regretted downloading. I re down loaded it and got charged again at a discount I like the new price .the old subscription should of been stopped and a prorated credit back to me. What I would like to see is daily habits being entered into your routine more than once and the option of setting the alarm more than once ie. eating a healthy meal and the habit of drinking water. Every habit should have this techinal attribute. Another suggestion when the app is first launched the setup tutorial must be more clear. Another suggestion is the ability to set each habit to daily or weekly and ability adjust duration of each habit ...if these habits have these abilities already this app is not user friendly yet or it’s not easily visually apparent. I will continue with this though. In summary this app was launched with the developers not fully thinking everything thoroughly..Version: 1.33.0

Glitching outIf this app was working right, it would be a five star app. But it is not and has not been for about two weeks. It’s been glitching, not allowing me to access today’s list of goals and routines to check off. My daily coaching option that’s on my routines no longer brings anything up to play for the day and instead just has a list of activities you could bring up. I bought the lifetime subscription and I’m kicking myself for it now that nothing is working on it. I’ve been using this app on and off for five years among varying devices without glitching issues and now all the sudden now that I’m on day 34 or so on my current journey, it’s just decided it no longer needs to work. Another annoying thing is that if you forget to mark the things off as you’re doing them and decide to mark it off later, it doesn’t seem to count it the same as though you didn’t actually do anything but are just checking it off. I find this incredibly annoying. Not everyone has time to stare at their phone after every activity on their list and check it off. I’m a busy person. Some of us want to check it off later, that doesn’t mean we didn’t do it when we are supposed to. Good lord. Also, I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall this app several times just to get it to work. I shouldn’t have to do that. There’s plenty of space on my phone and everything else works fine. Why is this app so glitchy?!.Version: 1.38.0

Stealing ur moneyI canceled my subscription before the 7 days were up and i still got charged $50 after i canceled.Version: 1.39.4

Don’t do itRead carefully all the other 1 star reviews. This company wants more than anything to trick you into a year-long subscription and then inform you that it is NON-REFUNDABLE. It doesn’t matter that you are contacting them immediately after you got charged, doesn’t matter if you no longer need or want this app, and that you weren’t even aware you were subscribed. Their response is basically “sucks to be you, you should’ve read our terms and conditions, no?” They use numerous strategies to achieve this. It’s incredibly hard to cancel. The subscription may not show on your Apple Store account making you think it’s been cancelled successfully. But no. You will still get charged. You have to find their website (which you have never seen before) and somehow you have a subscription there. Even there, the cancellation process is once again designed in such a way to make you think you cancelled half way through but you have to keep looking for that tiny “confirm cancellation” button which will be hidden at the bottom of the screen. It is designed that way on purpose. Just stay away from this app..Version: 1.47.2

Feeling Fab!I have enjoyed using it so far although I have set a reminder for myself before the 7 day trial to decide if I think it is worth the price asked. It is quite an expensive app for what it is. The letters are extremely long winded. I feel these could be a lot shorter as a lot of the message is not retained with the focus being on the success of achieving the goal and hitting that ✔️. I would consider lowering the price, reducing the length of the letters and also reducing the amount of things that seem to appear quite regularly. These things can be a little overwhelming for a person, like myself, who has very limited self care..Version: 1.39.4

This isn’t for night shift workersOverall I think this app is really interesting and interactive. I love the graphics, the colors, the calming music when you click on certain things, and I love how doing such a simple task like drinking water makes you feel like you’ve accomplished something. Having said that, I work 12 hr night shift, and I’ve tried to set” my morning” activities to start around 5pm when I’m getting up for work, and I’ve actually become more overwhelmed by how many tasks I’m NOT able to get done. On top of that, you have the constant reminders to do things and because my schedule is very different than than the average person, it kinda makes you feel like you’re still failing. Even if I don’t wake up and drink water to start. So going forward, I wish app developers would understand that a lot of people work night shifts, and design an app that can accommodate our hours. A lot of my friends are nurses on night shift so I know it’s not just me! I wanted this app to work for me, but because of my opposite schedule it did not. (If you wanted me to help design an app for night shift people, email me!) A lot of us get anxiety and overwhelmed very easily (especially after covid, we are burnt out!) That was my reason for getting this app!.Version: 1.41.4

Not for meThe app is beautiful, both design and sound and engaging. However I found that it was fill with BS. First, I selected I wanted to use it to increase productivity and motivation. It started me on the default journey about drinking water every morning, because it is better than soda (duh!). Maybe ask first if I need to break an habit of drinking soda before asking me to drink water! Then offer me something more meaningful regarding the goals you asked me to set! Second, the subscription model is very shady. The app only gives you 7 days of free trial and then it is asking for one full year up front. One week is too short to assess if an habit will work or not so the you need to pay for a full year before knowing if the app is doing the job or not. Beside, the fact that the two options are either to pay one full year or a lifetime (equivalent to 6+ full years) made me think the app is definitely not working. If it was, there would be an option to pay monthly as they would be confident users will stick around. Right now, I believe they are banking on people paying one full year without caring much if they use the app or not..Version: 1.37.0

I really wanted to like thisI really wanted to like this app. I truly did, and I really wanted to make it work. The first habit it wanted me to establish was drinking water in the morning. Fine, whatever, not something I really needed help with but I did it. The second one was breakfast, and that's where I checked out. I've struggled for years with my weight, and last year I stumbled upon intermittent fasting. Eating one meal a day has helped me lose 60 lbs, and I'm still going. Now this app is forcing me to eat breakfast? And throw the only diet that's ever worked for me? And there's no way to skip this particular goal and move onto the next one? No thanks. This app has a number of flaws that made it really not work for me. Beyond the lack of customizability, the cheesy self-help language made me check out. There's also a lot of potential for triggering issues for people (like my breakfast issue) that the app doesn't let you skip. I have firm routines set in my life, but I wanted something to add a few good habits of my choice. If you're somebody who's a hot mess, this might be the app for you. If you've already got your act more or less together, there's probably something out there with more customizability and less hand-holding that would probably suit your needs better..Version: 1.43.1

Charged without knowledgeApp gave a discounted price then bumped it $55 without my knowledge and not through the App Store..Version: 1.49.1

Too complicatedIf you want an app which would help you achieve your goals, this is not the one. The app is too complicated so basically you are gonna get lost in it. It has so many modules and you will not know which is for what. You can’t put your own goals and as a beginning you will have to start to drink water, one glass of water in the morning 3 days in the row. From the reviews I read it’s the same for everyone. I wanted support achieving my goals but this app doesn’t even offer to put your own goal in it, so good luck guys and drink water!.Version: 1.38.4

Way too restrictiveI wanted to personalise my plan for my own life and needs. This app just dictates a plan to you no matter what you want. The first few goals were things I was already doing every day. I don’t want to spend weeks wading through goals that i’m already achieving to unlock the more powerful stuff. The tone of the app is really patronising, like it assumes nobody using it knows any of the basic stuff they are telling you. Did you know its important to drink water in the morning? YES! Most people know that. I don’t need to spend 3 days telling the app that I did something required for basic human survival just to earn some kind of qualification to allow me to move on to the next thing. They are massively limiting their potential customer base by assuming all their customers have the same needs and need to start in the same place. There are many better habit apps out there that don’t hold your hand like this and treat you like an idiot..Version: 1.22.2

Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.I’ve never written an app review before, but I’ve never had such a negative experience with one. I downloaded this app to see what it was all about at the end of last year. The information on the app wasn’t anything new or different, and it was pointless in terms of value it added to my life. I’ve read books that I’ve borrowed for free from the library that have had a much greater impact on me. I cancelled my free trial prior to when the period ended - but last week I got an email saying they attempted to take the money anyway and it failed (luckily). I submitted an immediate appeal to prevent further charge attempts and was assured a response within the next few days. There has been none. The customer service is terrible from these guys and they give zero email updates regarding your account or payments. They proceeded to take the money from my account today, and as a uni student only working part time I cannot afford to pay for an app that I was led to believe I was no longer subscribed to. I have completed yet another ticket submission today, and this time hope to get a very prompt response. This poorly constructed app backed by non existent customer service is simply not worth it. Want to improve your life? Step outside, do some breathing, and put your phone away so you’re not at all tempted download this scam of an app..Version: 1.44.1

Rigid, pushy, overwrought and borderline predatoryTried a few habit trackers, mostly to try and find one that ties in with todos and general planning to keep on top of things. Despite all the self-aggrandisement Fabulous is nothing special; it’s the same old Duke method every app uses now, just with a drawn-out, inflexible system and endless adverts for private coaching and Instagram and communities and other distractions, as well as constantly promoting certain brands and giving you guest passes every five minutes, it stinks of MLM. On top of that it’s completely tone-deaf to several things; anything around food it launches into weighing every day, fasting schedules and throwing out certain food groups that is absolutely inappropriate for anyone with ED backgrounds, with no warning. There’s an option when unsubscribing that you can find it “too female oriented when you’re male” which as a female that found the app patronising more than anything is just insulting. In summary, Fabulous is a mediocre habit tracker with a premium price tag, and even after subscribing you’re hounded to sign up for private coaching and to get more people signed up and promote the Instagram and buy X brand of item. The whole experience is unpleasant and I cannot recommend the app to anyone, when there are at least half a dozen options on the store that offer the exact same content, with more flexibility and streamlining, for much cheaper..Version: 1.46.2

Needs updatingI have an I phone and since the last update of the operating system fabulous has stopped working properly it freezes when you complete a task or does not load the coaching audio, disappointing seeing I’ve paid allot of money for my subscription, I hope the developer will sort this asap.Version: 1.43.1

Horrible trapThe idea was fabulous indeed - the execution suffered massively. Such a wonderful science based approach it could have been. This app however is not what I would ever install again - lasted for 2 day for me until I noticed my screen time jumped by 30%. Anxiety generating trap that keeps you on your screen 24/7 and constantly asks you to share on social media and get engaged into more screen time. Again, idea was amazing, I downloaded it because I want an app to help me get on track. But content overload and constant sharing nagging that I get send me into an overload in 2 days..Version: 1.40.1

Cancelled but it took money anywayI cancelled prior to the end of a trial period and the cancellation was confirmed, however a glitch in the system meant that my subscription didn’t get cancelled at their end and my money was still taken. It was about NZ$85, a very unpleasant surprise. I have repeatedly attempted to resolve the issue with them, including providing screenshots of the cancellation confirmation. Their response is that as the subscription was not cancelled at their end they will not refund the money..Version: 1.47.2

Good app - terrible managementI’d like to start off by saying this is a good app. Not something I’d be able to commit to using, but I found a flaw in the people working for the app. I had accidentally activated two of the free trials. One through the App Store, and one online. (Understandably, my fault.) I sent an email to support requesting a refund, as I was unable to refund through apple. I was told it may be a few weeks, however, several months later, and no follow up emails, even though I’ve emailed asking for updates, I’ve received no refund or response explaining why they can’t complete the refund. Frustrating..Version: 1.40.4

FailI went through a questionnaire process in my desktop browser that took several minutes and low and behold I then had to pay to see my ‘plan’. I was interested to see the plan so I paid the $1.50. This took me through a convoluted process to download an app on my phone and log in using the account I had created, and the first thing that happened was the questionnaire started again! I then deleted the app and cancelled the app and noticed that a $60 payment had been added to my subscription that would have begun charging me after 2 weeks. I have no idea what this was for as I only agreed to pay $1.50. Not only is your business model dodgy you can’t even mine an app that works properly. I spent $1.50 to waste 10 mins of my life..Version: 1.41.1

Very good at some things, awful at othersGiving this app three stars feels a bit harsh, but I thing 4 would be generous. The app is really good for helping set up solid routines to get you into the right headspace for certain portions of your day. I have always been somebody who has a morning routine, sleep routine... but found myself struggling to commit to them lately. This app has massively helped with that and throughout the day. However the meditations in this app are so terrible, they often aren’t actually even guided meditations just monologues. It also uses guilt tactics in some of the letters/daily coaching. It just feels like in portions of the app people with experience in mindfulness/therapy weren’t consulted in the slightest. The letters are often overly negative, focusing on what the worst situation could be if you continue in your ways before switching the narrative. However the majority of the time is devoted to describing in detail this negative behaviour. Ignoring the fact that shame and guilt are often reasons people continue with a negative behaviour... So I find myself, opening this app and then switching to other apps for guided meditation/coaching. I have high hopes for this app, as the concept is brilliant. Fixing portions of the content would improve it immeasurably..Version: 1.38.4

Patronizing app that spams youI found the app really patronizing which was demotivating rather than inspiring. It might be ok for someone who is at step one of the journey but if you already have some good habits and routines you’ll probably find it annoying as they don’t account for this at all - you can’t customize where you start. Also they ask for your email as a requirement to use the app and then they spam you literally every day to sign up to premium..Version: 1.44.1

A ploy to data mine - or worse! If you realize that you've been had and THEN research these reviews, you need to understand that you MUST go to your account in the App store (click your picture to open your profile then click "subscriptions", then "fabulous" then scroll to the bottom of the page and unsubscribe). Hopefully you'll do that before the sixth day of your "free trial" and before they trick you into "committing" unwittingly to something other than your goals. Maybe a class action for fraud will show them? I get it that these apps exist to buy and sell our data. I can't believe I fell for it though - it asked for a goal commitment by touching the screen. It dawned on me once my brain fart was over that it was also acquiring my fingerprint 😳 (required a sustained three second hold while it read/recorded my print). It's NOT worth it people. Learn from my stupidity! THIS is more important than the hundred bucks they're going to steal from your credit card. I dare the developers to explain themselves by responding..Version: 1.19.1

Beautiful UI, bad UXSo the path of slow and steady incremental changes makes a ton of sense. The kinds of tasks it seems like the app orients on, also seem well founded and useful. However, the way you interact with the app itself to achieve those ends is so confusing and unintuitive to me. There’s no one place to look at what I’ve achieved or how I’m doing, or which goals I might choose. Even after using it for a few days, I’m still unsure of where to find any succinct information or even which buttons I should be pressing. In addition, the way it offers me the option to make goals and follow up with those goals just doesn’t match the natural way I make decisions or the flow of my day. For example, I’d see the notification to drink water with bleary eyes immediately after waking up, but before my brain can comprehend. Then it disappears into the fog of slowly waking. This morning, I finally did get myself to immediately open the app and log that I drank water, then it promptly opened a loud animated cut scene which was pretty annoying for me, but even more annoying for the person asleep next to me. I hastily closed the whole thing. I’d really like to utilize the set of slow and consistent reminders that seem to be at the heart of this app, but what does it matter if I can’t actually figure out how to use it? Frankly, every time I open this app I eventually just angrily close it, and am left feeling frustrated. I’d never pay for it..Version: 1.36.1

DisappointedI had loved it at first, however annoyingly enough I had to delete it after discovering that I had marked "done" on the wrong date and the app will not let you delete it to correct your mistake plus I have chosen a challenge which I didn't really want to do at the end and I couldn't get rid of that either and it was very annoyingly popping up all the time asking to mark my progress even though I had never started it in the first place. Have redownloaded the app after its deletion, but not sure if it is worth starting it all over again in case I would make another mistake which bothers me to do point that I would have to get rid of it again and who really wants to keep starting from the beginning all the time!? As that way it doesn't really lead anywhere. So all in all, very disappointed with this "no delete" feature! Please fix this as it is a nonsense! None of us are robots and people do make mistakes and due to our free will, we change our minds about what we fancy doing and what we don’t if it comes out to be not so appealing, which is a very natural part of life..Version: 1.34.3

It’s alright but I think there’s better apps out thereI feel mean giving it just 2 stars considering it’s got some great features and I haven’t explored the app entirely but to start off with, 7 day free trial isn’t enough to get a costumer hooked on the app when all you’re allowed to really do is embark on like a 3 day wake-up-and-drink-water challenge which takes up 3 of the 7 days. 30 days or AT LEAST 2 weeks would have been way better. I like how it paces you so that you don’t start on so many difference journeys and challenges at once that will overwhelm you, but from what I’ve experienced, it seems like you can’t do more than one journey or challenge at a time, ever. It be better to be able to continue one journey and when you’re successful on that journey for a week or 2, you’re allowed to start an additional journey without having to pause the first journey. Because then it slowly builds a routine of multiple things..Version: 1.41.1

Can’t use subscription on new phoneDon’t bother. They want you to repurchase a subscription and then hope for a refund. NZD70 down the drain! I bought the subscription via the Google play store initially and now have bought and iPhone and it won’t recognise my annual subscription that has been paid. When I hit restore purchase nothing happens. I will change this review if my account gets sorted out..Version: 1.42.0

This is a scam, do NOT sign up for a free trialI signed up for a free trial and have been trying to cancel my membership before I start getting charged. I cannot find a profile/subscription information ANYWHERE in the app, nor does is show up in my Apple subscriptions. There is also no website/contact info or anything. I am going to have to report this to my credit card company as fraud or something because I have no idea idea what to do. This is an obvious scam, I have no idea why Apple allows this app in their store..Version: 1.47.1

ScamI never gave consent for the one year subscription you just gave me today. Not good.Version: 1.40.1

What a con! This app is a total con once you subscribe you cannot unsubscribe and they take your money whether you like it or not. I downloaded the app to try it and to do that you agree to the 14 day trail in the app, which is fine, but then they start sending you emails saying get a 30day trail with this link. So I cancel the trial through the App Store and sign up via the link in the email to get a 30 day trial. Towards the end of the trial I decide to cancel I follow the steps in the faqs which and this keeps directing me back to the App Store where the subscription is cancelled. So I reach to check I won’t be charged and get no response, then they try to charge my credit card luckily it was declined. I then message them again through the app saying please make sure this is cancelled. Again no response and they have taken payment today. A total con do not download this app there are loads of others which do the same job and don’t rip you off..Version: 1.38.4

I wanted to like thisI really wanted to like this, but have so many issues with it that I can’t carry on. First, the graphics are twee beyond belief. Second, this is really incompatible with parenting. They have a lovely animation about a “new Mum” going for a run and pushing though and it making her feel amazing. I’m so glad I didn’t find this app when I actually was a new Mum because that was not my lived experience. I would have been gaslit as anything. Even now with school aged kids, their suggestions for the number of things I’m meant to do immediately when I get up are wholly unrealistic. On a similar note, this is ableist as anything. So I would avoid it if you have any long term health issues. Ultimately though it was the relentless, almost cult-like, positivity that really got to me. I’m not trying to change my habits because I’m under some delusion they’re going to fundamentally alter my life (or my actual self, as they audaciously imply). I’d like to change my habits to try to support my mind and body in functioning better in a fundamentally quite dysfunctional world. Fabulous doesn’t seem to have any space for that level of nuance. As I say, I desperately wanted to like and use this. I would have happily handed over chunks of cash if it was actually useful. But as a parent with less than stellar mental health, Fabulous made me feel gaslit. Not a fabulous outcome..Version: 1.39.4

Overwhelming and confusing app to useI'm not one of those frustrated users wanting to leave a bad review beacue of a tiny broken feature. I've been using the paid version of the app for 2 years thinking it's a MVP and hoping it gets better. But, I was wrong. It seems the development team do not believe in user experience as there are so many features, mainly difficult to use. The simplest rule of thumb in UX is to have one primary action per screen with one secondary and in edge cases you can introduce the third action but in a very subtle way. And, in this app you can see a very busy UI with a handful of actions all seemed to be in primary style which makes the entire look and feel overwhelming and very difficult to communicate with. I hope you'll invest a fraction of the money you're earning in user experience and do some user testing to understand your users and their needs! To be perfectly honest, I can get most of the usable features you're offering free of charge elsewhere. Lastly, I wanted to remind you why you built this app in the first place: to calm our mind and thoughts but I get the opposite from this app..Version: 1.38.4

Loving it so farI’ve created routines for the morning, afternoon and evening. Fabulous is helping me create healthy habits for a healthy life. I’ve been using it for a week now and it’s easy to use, it gives good tips, and keeps my motivation going on a daily basis. Update: I used to love this app but they added a bunch of unnecessary and not optional features that have made the app more of a nuisance than convenient. The amount of notifications is annoying but the fact you cannot customize the notifications is just ridiculous. I get so many notifications that it defeats the purpose of the app. Sorry fabulous but I don’t need your hourly coaching… you need to step it up. Especially considering that I’m paying for this app so it’s like I’m paying for them to annoy me. It’s either that or no notifications which defeats the purpose all together because I would like to get reminders for my routines, which is what attracted me to the app to begin with. Also, I have zero intention of making this a social activity. My goals are about me and I don’t feel the need to connect with strangers on the internet so I can feel supported. I enjoy focusing on myself BY MYSELF. Personal goals are just that… personal. Not everything needs to be social so this circle business is another annoying and forced-on-me feature. I won’t be renewing my subscription and I regret subscribing to begin with..Version: 1.41.4

This would benefit you if new to the power of habits! Not so much if seasoned.Love the concept and the idea. Very much aimed at habit novices. Not much depth in content to support those who already have established habits but want to go further. The UX is generally well developed. However, way to many screens which are confusing initially to click through, in terms of where I should be going with my journey through the app. Also the blue used extensively is too much for me personally especially on the FAQ pop ups. This along with the purposeful slow speed text content loads on the FAQ, makes the app slightly frustrating to use and put me off. However, that been said if you are new to habits and looking for improvement in your life this app definitely has all the right tools for you! Once you get past the initial overload and work out what’s what, you will definitely see improvement in your life!.Version: 1.36.2

Again HORRIBLEDo Not get! Scam all over it 😡.Version: 1.47.2

Stop endless prompts for new usersAlthough beautifully designed, it doesn't allow a beginner user to check & navigate the app, read and familiarise by themselves. we are adults! let us choose where to click when we enter the app, so we want to decide our paths, let the new user to read ffs before giving endless prompts. I'm a curious new user and before i sign up for £36 yearly, let me navigate and look around. this completely put me off, although it's beautifully designed, the developers can't understand how new users hate prompts at every click, locking their click buttons, not allowing a free flowing navigation, when they are still trying to figure out an app. I've tried to close and restart the app, but the app reopens and wouldn't let me navigate by myself. felt very CBT and controlling with the tap here, slide there are normally prompts used in games app to advance/ explain rules of the game. this is supposed to be a very holistic app. let the user navigate in a more holistic way..Version: 1.38.4

Complete rip off and scam!An error on their part meant they created two identical accounts using my email address. One account I could access and canceled after the trial. The second account which I was unaware of and unable to access was charged for a full year. And now I can’t even use the account that was charged! Don’t waste your time unless you want to be scammed out of your money 😡😡😡.Version: 1.39.1

Hard to unsubscribe, charged me for no reasonThe charged me for no reason. They said I have free week trial, but charged me $60.00 something dollards before the free week trial had even ended. I cannot unsubscribe easily..Version: 1.39.4

Good but frustratingI have a lot of personal goals that just seemed impossible, this app was great for me a person with add who rd DS to push up hill than and force things rather than stop and do the things that lead to self care and happiness. For me it’s recipe to self love. Make sure you read at least one page, meditate for a few minutes. I like the animations and the calming music that helps me to slow down and be in the moment. But sometimes I fall off the wagon and though the intentions are good, im forced to fill out a form that takes too long and ultimately discourages me from getting back into my routine. Sometimes the Home Screen is so cluttered with junk I’ll never read. I Or I ignore. Perhaps the ui hasn’t quite been mastered to make me care of the flow needs adjusted? I need a way out sometimes. I also suggested to my partner to give it a shot, I really sold it to him because he’s doing self care work. The initial onboarding sent him into an eye roll and I’m certain he will never open it again. Which is sad because I feel like he could e joy it. I’m a designer and I get wanting to be the be all comprehensive app. But it feels like it’s gotten a little unwieldy. You need to give people some space and not force them to do it your way..Version: 1.38.4

Charged despite cancelled subscriptionI’ve been charged for a subscription despite cancelling two days before the end of the trial period. I cancelled this subscription before the end of the trial period before I was due to be billed. I cancelled via the app and provided detailed feedback to the app creators why I was cancelling. I also agreed to be contacted by the fabulous leadership team to provide further feedback. There is clearly an issue within the app if my cancellation was not received. I have not been active on the app since the 26th of January..Version: 1.37.1

Make sure you cancel off their website or you’ll be charged.Don’t like companies who do this stuff..Version: 1.49.1

Kinda annoyingI wanted a good schedule app for school work and general motivation for self care, and was pretty disappointed, i couldn't add more than 4 things to my morning routine, the music was so annoying it gave me a head ache and the CONSTANT tutorial was driving me insane i deleted like 3 minutes after downloading.Version: 1.40.1

Nice Idea, Appalling User ExperienceAt its heart this app has a good idea - but the user experience is appalling. Multiple menus within menus, endless barrage of reminder and marketing emails, confusing sub-sections within subsections that make the app a nightmare to navigate, messages from other ‘users’ that are clearly sent by bots, and motivational messages that endlessly (and needlessly) quote famous authors as if literary pretentiousness is a substitute for insightful comment. Worst of all, the app seems incapable of integrating the web version of Fabulous with the App Store version, so I was constantly being bumped out of the Premium version and asked to pay again. When I tried to re-initiate my membership I ended up getting charged twice. The company did finally refund, but it took a long time and multiple emails and form fills. By which point I’d lost my patience with the company. Apparently the integration between the app and web version has been fixed, I’m not sure I’ll be bothering to find out..Version: 1.42.5

Great idea, but…I installed Fabulous to try and get myself more organised. For the first few days it was great, however on the third day it just kept crashing, I couldn’t even open it fully. Really disappointed as it looked like it was going to be awesome. Had to uninstall..Version: 1.40.0

DO NOT BUY!!!This company has scammed me. I signed up for the free trial but after the first day I realized it's not a service I'd use. So I went and canceled my trial. And then they tried to charge me after my trial ended and then now a whole month later they charged me successfully. $55 down the drain for an app I cannot even access. On the app it says I am not subscribed, on the app store it says I am not subscribed. Yet they still charged me and refused to provide a refund. Even after spending a whole hour going through their automated customer support. Just trying to talk with a real person. This company has yet to prove to me that they care about anything other than taking my money..Version: 1.47.2

OverwhelmingI couldn’t connect with this app due to the overwhelming amount of info and steps you have to take before committing to anything. I don’t think some of the user journeys are frictionless. I paid a whole year to give it a go and couldn't commit. Too complex, too robust, and hard to digest for anybody trying to make a change in their life Other people might engage with the tool, but honestly I couldn't. It's too much work.Version: 1.42.5

Love the idea, bugs are annoying, billing is predatoryLots to love in this app. It’s thoughtfully created and beautifully executed. Meets a lot of my needs that I was previously tracking myself in other ways. The bugs are obstacles. Listening to the coaching sessions never works smoothly. It pauses and I have to restart many times ruining the flow of my concentration. It prompts me to start and restart challenges that I’ve already been doing. It asks me to fill in weekly reflections that I’ve already filled it. It has my correct name, yet in the profile display it changed an “a” to an “o” and there’s no way for me to change that. Update: the billing issues, wow. The free trial went into a subscription although I thought I cancelled it. The subscription does not show up under my apple subscriptions, not even under “inactive,” so there’s no way to know you’re subscribed even if you regularly audit your subscriptions. Digging into my account in the app to try to cancel took a while. When I finally got to the button to try to cancel, it says you must cancel on the web, but does not include their website, and searching for a fabulous app website provided no results. I’ve had to go back and forth emailing and dispute the charge with my bank. So, all in all, a drop in mental health rather than an improvement. Like I originally said, I like the idea. The execution could be better. The billing is predatory..Version: 1.46.3

Glitchy, Expensive and unhelpfulThis ap is way too expensive for how glitchy it is. I paid this exorbitant fee and never used it longer than the trial period anyway. Kept having to shutdown the ap and restart it because it freezes on various windows. It’s far too expensive for something that didn’t change my day and was easy to stop using. Especially when there are plenty of free and fun aps that do a better job (check out finch). It’s also suss. During COVID lockdown I couldn’t buy groceries because I got trapped by the free one week trial trick (it’s not 7 days, it’s 6). I immediately contacted customer service to cancel (as soon as the money went from my account) and they couldn’t find any records, despite everything being done through iCloud, iPhone & App Store. I’m a digital native who understands subscriptions and this just never made any sense. Regardless, even though I’d paid for it I tried to force myself to use it and make the best of a situation. Couldn’t do it. This ap fell by the wayside within weeks. Many better alternatives have been developed, don’t waste your precious time or energy on this glitcher..Version: 1.46.0

Login IssuesI downloaded this app while on vacation in LA, and started using it and mostly liked it especially the Infograph’s and layout of the app for the most part. It was mostly user friendly but there were some aspects that could have been more user friendly and streamlined. When I went back home to a different time zone, the app did not appear to update with that new time zone since it still showed I was on day two of my progress but I was not actually on day 3. I deleted and downloaded it again, but it made me go through the entire set up page again. This is why the rating is so low! I couldn’t bypass this part and simply login again and when I went through and completed it, it overrode all of my progress and didn’t have any backup data saved (even though my phone had been previously connected to wifi for various days while using the app) I lost all my progress and don’t feel like starting over so I’m deleting it and moving on to something else. Hope they can get and issue like this figured out so people don’t have to be forced to go through a completely new set up each time they download the app again. Also save yourself time with going through that long survey for the live coaching, it’s not free and they wait to tell you until the very end. It’s $67. I wish they made that clear before having to go through that survey so if you didn’t want to pay for it you didn’t need to do the survey in the first place..Version: 1.41.1

Scam, stay away! For an app that claims to use behavioural science to improve your life, they sure seem to be focused on using behavioural science to take your money! Don’t sign up for a free trial, don’t sign up for a “pay what you want” two week premium membership, because they make it as difficult as possible to cancel! Totally sleazy, the app developers have no shame. (Cue the cut and pasted response from the customer service team)..Version: 1.49.1

7 day trial is basically automatic payment up frontI use many apps and am more than happy to pay a decent fee for a years subscription however I do object to the company making it deliberately awkward for you to cancel the 7 days free trial which is exactly what Fabulous does. Within an apple phone - all subscriptions are in one place making it easy to see what you have signed up for with fee and cancellation option. But not with Fabulous- it doesn’t appear and then it’s a pain to have to go to the website and navigate searching for the cancellation by which time you’ve probably already paid for the year. And now to add to this I have paid for the year (but cancelled so it didn’t automatically take it next year) and now it keeps stopping me as I’m trying to listen to the recordings asking me if I want to join premium (which I have paid for already 😡) I would like to get to see if there’s anything worth while in the app but this has started me off with negative feeling towards the company.Version: 1.42.6

FraudJust don’t even risk it, this company is terrible. Appalling customer support. This app has caused me more stress than I started with. Update: Still haven’t gotten my stolen money back, and I don’t believe there is any real staff for customer support. They are now ignoring me. The app is fine, helpful; but I tried the trial, canceled my subscription, and was still charged. I don’t have what they have taken my money for, I still have the “standard free plan” and I have contacted the company and got a generic response that tells me my email was not even read. They still have my money and now have not replied to me after showing them the proof of what they have done..Version: 1.19.1

TerribleA friend sent me a link for this app saying I could get a 30-day free trial. I downloaded the app and did not even set everything up and it charged my credit card $39.99 for a year subscription plus the “30 day free trial”. When I tried to ask for a refund it kept directing me to a page with no contact information and no way to talk to an actual person about it. Very disappointed. If it says there’s a free trial, it should be a free trial no strings attached..Version: 1.39.4

UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTISESDO NOT GIVE THIS APP YOUR CREDIT CARD UNFO. I HAVE PROOF THAT I CANCELLED AFTER JUST 3 DAYS OF A 1 MONTH FREE TRIAL AND THEY CHARGED ME FOR A YEAR. THEY WONT REFUND ME OR EVEN WRITE ME BACK! THERE EMAIL IS UNMONITORED AND INSTEAD YOU HAVE TO FILL OUT A FORM WHICH THEY DON’T RESPOND TO. TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTISE!.Version: 1.39.2

App quality has gone downI’ve been a member for over a year. Over the past 6 months the app has repeatedly frozen up, routines open without the habits loading with them, the habits being checked off on the watch but not reflecting in the mobile app, and the app completely crashing. I really like the content but the app is starting to heavily detract from the experience. At some point the pain of switching is less than the pain of staying. I’m a Dev so I get that this kind of app isn’t easy to build, but the foundations have to be solid. You guys desperately need a feature freeze so the entire dev and design team can focus on fixing what is already there. Cleaning up the design, removing buttons that don’t need to be there, removing concepts that make no sense etc. (I have yet to understand the differences between sphere, premium, journeys and challenges). Simple things are painful, like how do I leave/end a challenge, how to I delete a routine? You mean we need to start another challenge just to end the current one? Why am I even given the option to join a challenge when the first journey isn’t done? For all the talk about fabulous being like an instrument, and the need to learn new words to use it, fabulous is pretty bad at teaching those new concepts. Throwing up another letter isn’t a solution. UI elements need to be removed, concepts need to be simplified..Version: 1.32.1

They stole my moneyI never wanted to subscribe and the assistant both was not helpful. which i had more assistance . never again.Version: 1.49.1

Good but...This app is really good but, there’s little things that bother me a lot. Per example, I accidentally checked a habit as done that I didn’t do, and then I wanted to uncheck it, because I didn’t do it. Instead of the app letting me uncheck it, I get a pop up saying I can’t uncheck it. Are you serious?! You’re going to implement a pop up saying I can’t uncheck a habit I didn’t do, but you’re not gonna actually let me uncheck it?! That’s beyond dumb! Also this might be just me, but I can’t find a button anywhere to create a routine. Look, I love this app far too much to stop using it but you need to fix these kind of issues, they do add up to real nuisances! (My actual review for this app is 3/5 stars, but I put it at one star because only 1 star reviews are the only one to get responses from what I’ve seen. I’ll bump it up to a 3 star if I get a response, and if the unchecking issue gets fixed it’s a five from me!).Version: 1.25.0

Scam?I found this app on Pinterest. After a couple of screens it asks for your email and then fingerprint. Immediately deleted..Version: 1.36.2

PLEASE READ THESEI’m not the first person to write this app will steal your money! For an app that’s meant to make you feel better about yourself, it may end up making you feel the exact opposite. I had cancelled my subscription, and was still charged a large amount a month later anyway. I had to block them in PayPal from deducting monthly payments. If you look into the app, you’ll also see if you have an iPhone there’s no one you can speak to about requesting a refund - the refer you to Apple. If you speak to Apple, they tell you the app is not allowed to do this, as they do not work directly with them, the charge comes from the app developer. So Apple tells you to dispute the charge through PayPal. It’s a circus, certainly not Fabulous..Version: 1.39.3

Free VersionThis is a good app to get yourself started on organising yourself with a daily routine. Although I feel that the only was to get the best out of this app would be to pay the monthly pay to gain access to all the features, so unless you’re willing to pay for the app the free version is only useful to a certain extent and the app will pop up with features that u can’t use and keep trying to get u to purchase the features while u use the app. I personally found that there was not enough motivating me to continue to use the app everyday. I had to keep at least one of the notifications on my phone to remind me to check in for the day otherwise I would not remember to do check in. The adds the I received which made me try out the app in the first place advertise the app as a routine check list but once I tried the tools on the app (free version) I found it to be more of a couching app to remove/create new habits rather than a daily check list. I personally did not find that the free version of the app was helpful enough/ what I was expecting from the adds or what I need. I suggest giving it a try for yourself but this is my view. :).Version: 1.41.4

Won’t give my money back!!!I tried the free trail didn’t like it and stopped using the app realized I was charged for a year a bit later and msg and emailed several times for a refund and nobody got back to me I don’t even use the app it’s deleted on my phone and I can’t get my money back!.Version: 1.39.3

Rip offThe app itself works fine but my big complaint is there is only a 7 day trial but you get charged in four days. Don’t think you can try it for a few days and cancel because they will charge you early!! The customer support blames Apple and Apple says contact fabulous. Smh!! Buyer beware!!.Version: 1.19.1

A great app, needs some refiningI’m enjoying using this app and I think it will help me to improve my focus and motivation and build good habits into my daily routine. However, I think it needs a way for users to specify if there are journeys and challenges that we wish to avoid or to specify dietary preferences. One example would be that I’m vegan and it told me to eat buy and eat eggs which is a small problem, but should be easy to avoid with some personalisation. What worries me more is that after completing my first week it invited me to a weekly carb-cutting challenge. I declined as I recovered from an eating disorder a few years ago and these kinds of challenges and journeys would not be helpful to me. I’ve looked to see if there is a way to personalise recommendations that takes these preferences into account but can’t seem to find a way. It would be reassuring to know that I can continue to use this app without repeated pressure to follow a specific diet or restrict foods..Version: 1.38.4

Weird and not as advertisedThis is way too busy and way too many flowery weird cartoons. Too woo woo and not the smart flow chart checklist that was advertised to me. The app won’t allow me to work on the things I need to work on, instead it chooses every habit for you. I already get up, drink water, eat a good breakfast, take vitamins and exercise every day, this isn’t what I needed to work on. I don’t understand why you go through the quiz in the beginning if they don’t apply it. This app is a waste of time..Version: 1.47.2

RestrictiveI’ve been using this app for 10 days now. Unfortunately it dictates what goal you work on (have more energy) to unlock the others, and it makes you do set activities in order (with one done a certain number of times unlocking the next) with no compromise. I have chronic fatigue syndrome so having more energy isn’t likely, and it insists I tick off morning sprinting etc, which I am physically unable to do. It also insists I have breakfast, which I cannot do as I have to avoid food with medication when I wake up. If I don’t say I have done these activities and log on to confirm every day for a week I am unable to progress through each stage of “having more energy” which I need to complete (which seems to take about a month) in order to unlock other goals. I’m essentially logging on to lie about activities I haven’t done in the hope I could eventually move on and see other goals I may be able to work towards. Nonsense..Version: 1.5.2

Gotten worseI used to have this app a few years ago and it was really good. They had plenty of challenges to try out & I enjoyed them a lot. The app only allows you to do one challenge at a time. But unfortunately I ended up getting notifications for every challenge I had ever done. So my notifications became irrelevant to my current life, and it was really annoying and constant. I tried to get customer service to help me numerous times & they ignored me, so I deleted the app. Fast forward to now. I downloaded the app again thinking I’ll try using it without notifications, just for some fun challenges to do. But I can’t even do any now because the app now forces you to do “a journey” first before you have any freedom. A series of tasks set for you, starting with the need to drink water in the morning for three days. I have zero interest in this. I already drink water. People should be given the freedom to set themselves their own goals. If the developers actually knew anything about behavioural science like they claim to, then they would know that this approach can be highly demotivating & turn fun challenges into boring chores. I will be deleting it again..Version: 1.42.7

Don’t bother with the free trialWould NOT recommend!! business model runs on tricking ppl into free trials. Would rate 0 stars if I could, signed up for a free trial ( did not find it useful) tried to cancel the day it was ending and they already charged me. Now I am stuck with the subscription for an app I don’t want. Total scam.Version: 1.28.0

Charged twice, can’t cancel or even speak to anyone!I clicked on an add on Instagram for this app and decided to try it out and do a free trial which took me to adding my paypal details before creating an account. After this it went back to the homepage and continuously loaded for more than 10+ minutes so I wasn’t able to finish setting up the account. I tried again and realised I was getting a $1 hold on my acc but the page wouldn’t load!! Concerned, I sent the fabulous app a message on Instagram who referred me to their website where I sent another enquiry to complain and ask for answers but NOTHING! It’s been a month now and I have been charged TWICE! and can’t even access my account. This is ridiculous, there is no way to get in contact with anyone about this, no phone number or email address. C’mon! I’ve just been charged $80 for absolutely nothing, with no idea what to do..Version: 1.39.0

Scammers! How does this app have 4.5 stars when there are clearly so many bad reviews. I never even activated my subscription yet still got charged $63AUD. $63 is an absurd amount of money to charge unannounced for just an app. And to make it even worse, I payed the $1 trial thing through PayPal with my own card, yet they charged a family members card I have attached to my PayPal, so now they have been stung with a $63 charge they never even signed up to. Fabulous have no contact information to call and ask for the situation to be rectified, I managed to find an email but based on the fact they just charge people with minimal warning and by the sounds of reviews still charging after cancelling, I can’t imagine I’ll get a reply. This app is from thieving scammers and needs to be shut down immediately!!! Extremely unhappy with this illegal atrocity of an app..Version: 1.40.5

A disappointing returnI reinstalled this app after I had uninstalled it on my old phone. Now I have my new one, I wanted to start afresh. I can’t do that because now you can’t even add more than three habits to a routine without an overpriced subscription. You also have no option to skip that “drink water” challenge at the start to get straight into the meat of the app even if you’ve used it countless times. I’m not saying developers shouldn’t charge money for premium features - just make it worth the money you’re charging. I was considering buying premium when I rejoined so I could finally access the Sphere stuff but finding out I have to pay for features that are pretty essential to the app and previously free just put me off completely. I’m so sick of self-help apps shoving outrageously expensive subscriptions down the throats of people who just want to get their life on track. I’ve seen this on anything between weight loss apps to ones that are supposed to help you manage your depression and anxiety. It’s sad to see an app I enjoyed so much in the past join them. Time to find an alternative..Version: 1.23.1

Misleading + No Customer ServiceWhen you sign up for the free trial or subscription, Fabulous indicates that they can cancel the subscription at any time and that the cancellation will ultimately cancel the auto-renewal. I subscribed to the service over a year ago but decided, a few months later, I did not find the “Journey” in their app to be suitable. So, I canceled the subscription. However, on the anniversary of my subscription, I was charged the renewal fee, even though I canceled my subscription over nine months ago (that is, almost three months after my subscription). Actually, before the renewal, the status in the app was (and actually is still) showing my status as a “ Standard Free Plan.” This is extremely disturbing! They charged me for the renewal even though I canceled my subscription way before the renewal date. Then, they don’t give me access to the service. To make things worse, there is no direct way to contact a customer service representative to help me resolve the issue. You can’t simple start a chat or send a message in a simple way; instead, you need to go through the chatbot and answer a few questions in an indirect approach to get to the page through which you can send a message to customer service, and then you will have to wait for days. They claim that the issue has been resolved, but only time will tell! Overall, nicely designed app (nothing exceptional), but unpleasant experience, and I regretted giving Fabulous my credit card..Version: 1.41.1

Charged me for a yearly membership without askingI signed up for a 7day free trial of this app. At the end of 7th day I opened the app and hoped to find a button to cancel the trial but saw they had already charged me for a yearly membership! I’m not able to find anywhere in the app a place to cancel the subscription..Version: 1.19.1

Scammed for “Free” 30 Day Premium. *Beware*I was offered free 30 days for the “premium” account on July 4th. That evening I ended the recurring billing after the 30 days so that I wouldn’t get billed the $39.99. Aug 4th I got notification from PayPal that I got charged $39.99 from Fabulous even though I cancelled it well before the Free trail was over. I tried contacting Fabulous, which they don’t make easy by the way, and still have not heard from them. FYI there is no customer service number you can contact otherwise I would have called them. The app itself isn’t bad but the standard to premium was not really distinguishable. Pretty upset by the way this company handles customer issues as I pretty well was robbed $39.99. Until this is dealt with properly, my review will remain 1 star and I will be contacting my bank to report this as fraud..Version: 1.39.3

Contradicts itselfThis app is really busy in its design, I honestly didn't mind too much at the beginning but it made it hard to delete habits that I didn't find productive to my journey/habits I already have in place. With such a complicated and busy design, it made it hard to motivate myself to use it daily, which completely contradicts the point of the app. I think my main issue with this app though was the recommended meditation and mental exercises. The app promotes small and steady growth at the beginning, which is what initially drew me to it. It promoted treating yourself and your impulses with kindness, something I really agree with since in order to form new habits, you need positive associations with them, therefore you shouldn't shame yourself throughout your healthy journey. However, one of the mental exercises promoted tells you to treat your impulses like a "spoiled" and "malicious child". It also gives an example of this "malicious" child telling you to take a break when you're tired from working out and having your "wise sage" tell you that you have endless willpower. This pretty much completely goes against the initial meaning and can be harmful to people trying to establish long term healthy habits, since using all of your willpower and shaming yourself for something as innocent as taking a break leads to complete burnout for most people..Version: 1.42.8

Struggling with this appFirst of all, there are a lot of benefits here. But. Even though I enjoy the app generally, I feel frustrated. I can’t seem to get to customer service. The link on the Apple Store app page is broken. There’s nothing within the app itself. I go to the website, and it wants to take me through this long “tell us about yourself” bit. I just want to email or chat with customer service. I’ll also say that I like the “Let go of what hurts you” habit. But it doesn’t say anything at all about the process of doing that. No one likes to hold onto pain. We do it because we don’t know how to heal from it and let it go. So, some guidance there would be good. Also, if you comment on someone else’s post and the end of your sentence is cut off, there’s no option to fix your comment. Overall, it’s a nice app with a ton of potential. But, there are some things missing. I might even not be able to find some things that are there for me. And I can’t find a way to communicate at all with the makers of the app to share feedback or get information. Posting this review is literally the only thing I can think of. I’m sorry I didn’t share much of what I like about the app. (I even have a subscription.) But first, I need some help..Version: 1.41.1

An app that really needs to take a chill pill!An okay idea for an app. For 3+ days, it kept bothering me multiple times about drinking water every morning. (I already do that, by the way! Didn’t think to ask?) At one point, it wanted me to put water by my bed, but when I told it no (because I don’t enjoy bumping it and spilling water everywhere in the middle of the night), it seemed worried that I wouldn’t drink water in the morning. Chill out, Fabulous app! I’m gonna be okay! And there’s just so much going on in the app screen at the same time… some affirmation video with poem, with different pop-up-type boxes around and tick boxes. Do I tick them? Oh wait… they don’t respond. Didn’t I already tick that? Does it want me to tick it again, or is that for tomorrow? Chill out, Fabulous app! You’re stressing ME out! So, yeah… I had to delete it. Nice try, though. I did want this to be good, because I think the underlying science is solid. I hope they can work out the interface bit..Version: 1.41.1

Not So FabulousI regret everything about this app. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but Fabulous is unfortunately the worst app subscription experience I’ve ever had. I liked it for the first week and hoped it would help improve my routine, so shame on me- I got a year long premium subscription. A month or two in, the daily notifications were more irritating than helpful and the voice overs for the lessons and meditations were so cringey or cheesy I couldn’t focus on the material. I cancelled auto renewal for the premium membership. Fast forward a year, and I was getting notifications that my premium account was about to expire. Great, it seems to be working. It now appears as expired in my Apple subscriptions. However, I added a new card to my Apple wallet a few days later and that card was charged for a premium subscription to Fabulous! They make you jump through too many hoops to issue a refund. I was redirected to so many different web pages, all of them dead ends. It ended with a long back and forth with the website chat bot, it saying that they’ll send me an email to continue the conversation, and surprise- days later and still no email. 🤦‍♀️ And that’s not even the half of it. I’m reeeeeally disappointed in how this app is managed. If it works for you, save your money and stick with the free version. It’ll spare you any stress better than a paid Fabulous exercise will..Version: 1.44.1

Wrongfully charged, being ignored, BAD customer serviceDO NOT download this app. Not only did I cancel the 7 day free trial well before the 7 days was up, but after they offered me “free 30 days” (assumably because I canceled the week trial), and I accepted - because hey, why not, maybe a longer window will get me in right mindset) — I ultimately cancelled the free 30 day trial from within the app (because the feee 30 days doesn’t SHOW in your Apple subscriptions) again, well before...like within the first two weeks... Long story short, I deleted the app from my phone, because I CANCELLED, and now 30 days later this company is thieving $50+ dollars from my bank account, unauthorized. I contacted them by email, was told to submit a reimbursement request, the heard NOTHING. I have emailed this company at least 5 times now, finally threatening to file file a consumer complaint...and my guess is that I STILL will not hear from them. Steer clear of this app/company. Do NOT give them your credit card info. ZERO STARS..Version: 1.39.0

Wanted to like it but too many issues in the first weekUpdate: This app caused me the most financial stress I can ever have. I cancelled the subscription due to the stress described below, Only to find out just now that they have charged me TWICE in 3 days for Yearly subscription when I don’t even have the app. I am fuming // Got the app after quite a few months of considering it. Kudos for the team , there is lots of potential and I really wanted to enjoy it but have had more stress navigating it around and with the subscription than enjoyment :( As a whole - I found it very overwhelming. I tried creating a morning routine with different habits - the alarm did not work; none of the habits would pop as a reminder in the morning but it will appear more after the time would have passed. The mood check in - popped at random Times of the day and I could not find it on my own to put in my mood if I wanted to. It seems to offer too many things at once and too little control to adapt thing your way :(( On the side I also had problems with the free trial and subscription - I cancelled it when the free 7 days ended. Upon cancellation, they offered a 30 day free trial and I chose it and yet the app still charged me. When I tried to cancel it / contact the team - it cancelled my free premium trial and I still haven’t gotten a refund for the years plans. So all in all it’s been more hassle than it’s worth :(.Version: 1.42.6

Don’t forget to cancel your subscription before the trial week expires!Awful app and customer journey. Poor gamification, a lot of limitations. I wish I had read the comments before I installed the app, as I see a lot of people had a similar dissatisfying experience with it. Don’t get tricked into a full year subscription (£36). If it happens, the app will have only negative emotions associated with it. The customer service lacks the basic interest in customer satisfaction and retention. You may be fabulously ignored. Needless to say there was no empathy at all, considering the current pandemic situation and lockdowns worldwide. Also, when I tried to cancel the subscription via the app, the cancellation could only go through if I submitted my email and agreed to have a 20-min interview with a behavioural economist, which is an unreasonable post sale barrier. They say it’s optional, but it’s not. You can cancel it only through your Apple account subscriptions. What they could’ve done differently - offer a partial refund or a discount or a longer subscription period, anything would be better than just in other words saying “it’s your fault”, I would accept it as sunk cost and give it another try maybe. There an absolutely great app - Calm. I bought a lifetime subscription to it - worth every penny. Can’t say the same about not so fabulous “Fabulous” app..Version: 1.31.0

Optimistic but skepticalSign up process was a little confusing, too many emails, and switching between the browser, the app and my emails was a lot. The app itself is quite a good experience, the visuals are nice and navigation is pretty intuitive, with easy to find FAQs. The habit building structure is a guidance and encouragement based system, which is great for people like me who need a little extra motivation. Being able to add an event like moving house to the app that would interrupt some habits, and a bit of support for it would be great to see. There is one "bedtime story", The Bronze Ring, purported to have the message that "it pays to be kind" that describes some gruesome and frankly not very kind acts committed by the "hero" without warning, which quite upset me when I listened to it. I won't be listening to that one again. Hoping to work down my anxiety and build some structure in my life with this app, let's see how we go..Version: 1.38.4

No.This app is not user-friendly for me. I’m very disappointed this app didn’t work for me. I tried to cancel and the page refused to load in several browsers. How convenient. It took forever to cancel it. It wasn’t until AFTER if charged me that the page finally loaded. The customer service team is less than compassionate. And reply too many days later. A horribly put together app and even worse customer service..Version: 1.47.2

Will steal your moneyI signed up for a week free trial via apple App Store. I cancelled it when I discovered that I would be automatically charged at the end of the period (normal). They sent me an email offering to extend my trial to one month. I accepted then made sure there was no active subscription on my iPhone. There wasn’t. 30 days later I was charged $55 DOLLARS CAD. Apparently I “signed up” via their website so I HAD TO cancel through the app. Of course this wasn’t made clear until AFTER I WAS CHARGED. Went to “contact us” page (lie as they have no way of allowing contact on that page). Was sent to a page that explained how I had to cancel in multiple places to actually cancel a subscription for an app that is advertised as FREE on Instagram. Also was explained that my purchase was NON-REFUNDABLE. Advertises wellness. Actually adds stress and HARDSHIP.Version: 1.38.4

App is buggyI want to give this app 5 stars desperately. It works absolute wonders for my ADHD. In principle, I couldn’t recommend it enough. But I just can’t use all the features sufficiently with ease. The app is slow, occasionally unresponsive and crashes often. I love this app immensely and have been using it for over a year, but I struggle to get past the glitches..Version: 1.33.0

Potential to do more harm than good if you have an anxiety disorderThis resorts to an eerily fear-based approach for something aimed at general self-improvement, and with such critical technical limitations. If you don’t log into the app for a couple days it sends an acutely manipulative notification to get you to open it. This is paired with a technical limitation that neither allows you to check off tasks you completed in days prior, nor to uncheck something you tapped accidentally but didn’t complete. Maybe it’s still a step up for people who are already glued to their phones from the moment they wake up, or are facing dangerous vices. However, studies actually show that reward-based approaches still tend to be better for learning than punishment-based ones. Manipulative notifications paired with the limits for checking off tasks suggests poor design at best, or worse that its intention is actually to build an addiction to the app itself ($ubscription), as opposed to commitment to real-life self-improvement. I liked it for the first couple days, but don’t want emotional punishment for not being addicted to my phone..Version: 1.33.0

Limited functionality with Free VersionThanks Thomasina for the review! I didn’t know the free version existed as it was offering “a free trial” which then you may potentially won’t be able to cancel and I decided not to proceed at first. But as Per Thomasina review there are easy options to just get a free app which is really hard to see visually when you are signing up, which is a shame. I’m still learning the up and it’s so hard as at every 2nd or 3rd step premium upgrade offers pop up and you are very limited with what you can view on the free app as you can’t even excess the coaching. If people want to pay for the premium I’m sure the experience is very different like others have mentioned and very positive but Not sure if the free app helps..Version: 1.39.1

No supportI purchased the early subscription of this app. I really loved the concept the art and everything else. However in the first week it presented malfunctions in the badge notifications. And the most interesting thing is that in one of the letters was advocated the importance of the ‘notification philosophy’ that the software uses, only when necessary to not compromise the user’s experience. I messaged the support, but there was no answer. I waited one week, tried to fix it myself by deleting and reinstalling the app but the stuck badge app was still there. In the process of reinstalling, I lost the progress that I’ve made in the app. They don’t have a simple account login or information recovery... so every time you restore for some issue, you lose your progress on the tasks. I tried to message the support team again, this time not only to recover my progress but also to solve the stuck red badge. After a week there was no answer! I’m not willing to pay a year subscription of more than 70 $Aud for an app which has no support. Specially if you advocate for more conscious notifications but can’t care less for issues regarding your app. And you talk about motivation but if I lose my progress, how can I be motivated to start over? Why don’t you have a simple account login and store information on my iCloud or something? Disappointing..Version: 1.5.0

You don’t *have* to sign up for the 7-day trialLots of reviews here from people complaining about being charged a subs fee or not cancelling in time. If you’re just checking out the app to see whether it’s for you, DON’T press that big, bright button when you get to the 7-day trial splash screen. Instead, look for the discreet cross at top left of the splash screen and tap on that. This will cancel the splash page and allow you to continue the set-up process as a free user. Once beyond that, all the paid options are clearly indicated and optional. It’s disingenuous of the app makers to design a set-up process that funnels users into signing up for the trial, making it look like this is the *only* option. Continuing with the completely free version (no subscription and no trial) should be a clearly indicated alternative for newcomers. If the app is good enough and its locked features appealing enough, users will want to try the subscription option anyway. As it is, the subtle trickery leaves a bad taste. And that’s a pity given the care and imagination that appears to have gone into the app’s features. Another criticism: on first opening this app plays strident music. That is, before you’ve had a chance to change any internal settings. That’s just bad form. Especially for an app focused on wellbeing. Surely the makers are aware that random, unwanted music is not conducive to calmness of mind and general wellbeing?.Version: 1.24.1

Shady AF business practicesTried to confirm what and who is designing this app and nothing plus it wants to charge right away for full price.Version: 1.49.1

Literally a scam - do not tryI signed up for a one week trial and after 3 days decided it wasn’t for me and cancelled the trial and deleted the app off my phone. Today I checked my credit card statement and I was charged over $50 for a subscription I CANCELLED!!! Absolutely disgraceful - I almost never write reviews on here but I am too angry not to write one today! Do not waste your time or energy on this scam..Version: 1.39.3

Don’t download this!I downloaded it and signed up for the 7 day trial and then spent the 7 days trying to find where to remove the subscription so I wouldn’t be charged. I thought I did it yet my credit card has still been charged. What a horrible company, they should not have to force you to take their product if you just want to try. I will fight them to the end to get my money back. January 2024.Version: 1.49.1

Used to be better - not easy to use or customize some things even with full subscriptionI subscribed for the premium years ago and I really enjoyed the app. It flowed well and actually made routines and getting through tricky parts of my day easier. I unfortunately cancelled due to money and recently picked it back up again because I loved the app! Whatever has happened over the last couple years has turned this into a frustrating app to use. The Home Screen is way too cluttered with things from other tabs like your journey, there’s a lot the app just does and there’s no way to customize it, so it ends up feeling messy. You can’t control images, sounds or voices when you’re in a routine which would be really helpful. Honestly, this app is starting to frustrate me when it’s supposed to be making things easier. Really regret getting the subscription again when it’s taken a downward turn. Good concept for the app still, just functionality/smoothness and customization isn’t there and has seemed to get worse. If someone wants to point out a way to change the voices or clear up the home tab that would be great..Version: 1.49.1

Confusing, Very Poor UII’ve been trying to use this app for a few weeks now with the premium trial, and while I like some of the aspects of the challenges and coaching, the user experience is really lacking. I cannot figure out how to properly track what I am actually working on, whether it’s a “journey” or a “challenge” or just the daily tasks. The home page is way too busy. The “journeys” are not well explained which makes it hard to see the impact. Interactions also change dramatically based on what you are doing and I’ve marked off goals as completed without understanding what the goal has actually asked me to do. It’s to the point of the app being so difficult to navigate that I have accidentally deselected the “journey” I’d started on and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get back to it, despite the app making it seem very easy to pick up on things where you left off. I may be missing something as I am not the most savvy with different UI’s, however I really feel if the point of your app is to help people creating lasting behavior change, it should be very streamlined and not just one more over-complicated “tool.” I’m not going to give up on it entirely yet, but I’ve definitely been more frustrated with this experience than I would have liked to be..Version: 1.45.1

Free version could be improvedI understand having limited access to premade tasks and goals while you are only using a free version, but I’m finding it a bit frustrating because you have limited how many tasks I can create without paying, defeats the purpose of the app in my opinion, most people can’t afford (or refuse) to pay $70 for an app which they could do a similar, but slightly less easy, thing in reminders or calendar. I also think the options for notification sounds and music are very limited and the ones on the app I found quite annoying, so I will just keep it muted when using it. The most frustrating thing was that with the timed tasks, the timer stopped working when you turned your phone off! I don’t leave my phone on while I am studying or writing ib my journal as I find it quite distracting so I think it would be better if this function would work without needing to keep your phone on (also uses a lot of power) If these things were improved I think I would definitely use this app regularly and recommend it to others, but at the moment I don’t think is a useful app for me to use.Version: 1.40.2

Tried cancelling 1 day after trial.Tried to cancel 1 day after trial. They simply refused and blamed Apple. I spoke with Apple and they couldn’t do anything for me as it’s the developers decision. What a waste of $60. Absolute joke. Don’t wast your time on this app..Version: 1.39.3

DO NOT PAY FOR ITI paid for a full year last June and it’s never worked. I’ve tried contacting them and gotten no answer. Must be a scam..Version: 1.38.0

Don’t bother.I had this for about 10 minutes, cancelled my subscription and deleted the app. I was sucked in by seeing a short quiz about ADHD types, as I feel I could be suffering with ADHD and SPD I thought I’d try it, more information I have the better whilst I’m building up the courage to talk to my doctor. I answered the questions and signed up to the 89p trial as I was more interested in the results of my answers, what I actually got was totally unexpected, unwanted and made me immediately hate the app. I was immediately forced into another quiz and asked a range of questions, answered this thinking they were baseline sign up questions and I’d see my results after. No such luck, instead I got pushed into a “journey” which I didn’t want. I already get outside professional help with my nutrition, exercise and mobility as well as I’ve recently undergone surgery; I didn’t ask to be set goals and the app asked nothing about me. I tried to browse around after I’ve got past the annoying amount of pop ups and again, nothing useful or any results from the first quiz I did. Also found it very rigid as it asked me what habits I already did… I selected one as there was no option to skip or say that I didn’t do any of the habits which would’ve been the truth. Rubbish app unless you fit into their perceived boxes, willing to follow their process with no question and have no issues with being told what to do and when..Version: 1.47.1

Good idea, terrible sales user journeyThis app was suggested to me as I use elevate which I enjoy. I tried it and I thought it was ok, but stopped using after a couple of days. While it does say the yearly subscription fee on purchase, I did intend to cancel. I was a couple of days late and forgot to do so and there is no way to cancel there after and was charged the annual £36. I think this is a horrible business model and I have now lost trust in this developer. I really think there should be a less harsh payment system for this. So many people have fell for the same trap and it really is a horrible feeling, especially when your not actually using the app. This is not a sustainable way to treat potential customers who are not sure if they want to commit. It’s also completely hypocritical to design an app that’s about improving your daily habits and positive mental state, by making people feel conned and ripped off. Surely you want to build a brand based on trust and customer loyalty, not just a bunch of one off payments by people that never recommend it and actually advise against using it. Sort it out, make a cooling off period, and don’t continue like this, it’s horrible..Version: 1.28.1

Careful if you struggle with ED/BDDI really wanted to like this app. I’m ADHD and struggle with housekeeping and finances and hoped Fabulous would help me create and sustain routines in those areas. I very intentionally did NOT list “healthy eating” as a goal because I have a history of disordered eating. Yet in the first five days of use, I’ve been told to drink water instead of pop, buy specific suggested breakfast foods, offered “easy healthy” breakfast ideas, read a motivational letter which used “quitting sugar” as an example, and prompted to get rid of “products that come in boxes or bags - like cookies, chips, and crackers”. The last *just* happened and that was when I knew it was time to unsubscribe and delete. The initial “journey” is NOT tailored to your needs and does NOT take your risk factors into consideration- not once did it ask about my history with diet and exercise, and clearly my telling it I’m happy with my current nutrition and movement had zero impact on what I was shown. There was also a really strange comment about buying a particular brand of water bottle because it’s BPA free that seemed very #sponcon but wasn’t marked as such in any way..Version: 1.42.6

Paid for Premium and doesn’t work- poor customer serviceI paid for a 3-month premium upgrade and it never worked. I wrote 5 times to the customer support using both the email and the app, and they never replied to my request. Very disappointing from an provider who presents itself as having products fostering self-care. Don’t waste your money..Version: 1.49.1
