✓ Game never returns to the menu to start another gameAt the end of every game it never returns to the start menu to play another game. I have to keep rebooting my iPad just to play another game. The controls are way off and hard to control the fighter ship. The original version of the arcade game was awesome. Everything looks like the original game right down to the exact colors and shapes characters on the screen, but the controls are horrible. I’d rate it 0 Stars, but it takes me back to the memories of playing the original arcade game. This games needs a lot of work so that the player can actually control their movements and to be able to return to the start menu without rebooting your device. Until that happens I definitely do not recommend anyone buying this game. Although I bought the game, I’m deleting it. Im very disappointed in the makers of this game. You’re ripping people off!!.Version: 1.4
✓ A half-assed reboot of a classic.The controls are very off. They don’t fully work, they’re the opposite of too sensitive. The fact that none of the mechanics are the same will definitely come as a shock to Galaga players. The rockets that the aliens fire move way too fast to dodge instead of falling like the classic game. That’s kind of a nit-pick, But if it bothers me that much I must bother other people too. All in all, it’s just a really bad bootleg..Version: 1.4
✓ Don’t ignore the reviews and DON’T buy!!!I truly regret buying this game. I read a few reviews prior to buying and I went ahead and bought this app anyways for the simple fact that it LOOKED like Galaga and I also figured maybe it isn’t as bad as they say it is. Well, this is my first review, ever. That alone says a lot. About 3 seconds into the game, I start noticing how laggy this game is beginning to look. I literally fired about 3 shots before the button some how got stuck, a digital button getting stuck yea that’s weird! Well I couldn’t shoot any of the enemies anymore, and the joystick to move the fighter was too sensitive. The large green enemy came down to capture my fighter right away, so I allowed it to happen. That’s how my game ended, literally. After that my new fighter couldn’t come out, the enemies were just flying around shooting at nothing. I was definitely wrong for ignoring the previous reviews. Don’t make the same mistake as I did and don’t buy this app. I would much rather spend $10 for the original Galaga on my iPhone X (if it was available) rather than $1.99 on a lowly put together rip off game..Version: 1.4
✓ Looks like galaga......but its notI seen this game and had to have it. I loved playing galaga as a kid. So starting the game up hearing that music play made me happy. But.....the controls are two loose, the shots fired are horrible. I mean you shoot left of the alien or right of it its a hit and kill. Galaga didnt have aliens that fire at you from the side. You cant dodge those. Then within 5min playing the fire button got stuck and my ship kept firing nonstop. Is there a refund button i can hit or did i just get punked. ✓ Horrible game, freezes, features don’t work!This is a horrible knockoff. Knew it wasn’t Galaga but figured it would be a close. The fire button gets stuck each time I try to play and the green/purple ships will not come capture my ship for me to release and earn the double ship like Galaga. ✓ Best "Classic" version available, but....This is easily the best "classic" app version of the game we've all grown to love over the last 38 years now, however, the touch-screen joystick feature needs to be more sensitive/responsive. You can't maneuver around quick enough to dodge the enemy bomb-drops, but the fire button works great. The developers need to tweak-out the joystick a little more, and they'll have a big win here..Version: 1.4

✓ Do no mistake this for Galaga!The graphics are VERY similar. However, the flight patterns are not the same. The shooting patterns are not the same. There is very little distance from your ship to the enemies, so there’s almost no time to react. The arrow keys are delayed. If you move quickly from right to left, or vice versa, it takes a second to realize you switched directions. Quick movements only work if you lift your finger and tap the directional keys, which is not anywhere near efficient for the minimal amount of response time allowed when the enemies fly at you. Despite this horrible review, it was only $2. I’ve had $2 coffees that tasted worse than this game plays..Version: 1.9

✓ Awwww man....Total let down. It's fun for a min but fire button got stuck a few times, I recaptured a fighter (last bad guy on the screen had my fighter) and it got all screwy and never gave me my fighter back and kept playing the "fighter capture/release" tune until I restarted the game, 45° shots from enemies are practically unavoidable. $1.99 for this is a $1.98 too much. Did you guys even beta test this for more than 30 seconds? All the above problems (among others) were noticed in less than 5min. I feel like I should get my money back. Or you should hire me as your beta tester..Version: 1.2
✓ It’s goodIt’s nice that a programmer who loves galaga made it for us on mobile. Ignore the other guys complaint review; the game has no performance issues anymore. UI for mobile is a simple D-pad and fire button, it actually performs faster than the old arcade cabinets did! Worth the two dollars if you want galaga in your pocket on the go.Version: 1.9
✓ Great game…. But !Wow it sounds and looks just like the real Galaga I remember, but the pad to control the left and right movement is terrible. You spend more time looking at where your thumb is to make sure you press the correct spot to move, by then you get blown up. ✓ Works butI haven’t had any problems with this game but it’s hard to control it. (In handheld mode) Since it is a touch screen you don’t have any feel for where the control buttons are and it’s too easy to slide off them and it stops moving. In full screen mode your finger blocks the screen and when your finger gets to close to the bottom or top of the screen it again stops moving. Request: can you make the left/right controls be controlled by the left/right tilt of the phone? Like driving a car. Also can you make the up volume button be an alternate fire button? ✓ NOT YOUR FANGalaga is my favorite arcade game and though this looks like galaga, it doesn’t play like it. Absolutely no control of your ship. Your ship gets stuck in a corner while the rest of the game continues on without you. It’s not clear where you’re supposed to touch the screen to control your ship because NOTHING consistently works. If this were a free game I’d just delete it and forget about it. I paid for this piece of crap so I’m not happy at all. Take some pride in your product, have some integrity and fix these problems or refund my money. By the way I never leave reviews so the fact that I took the time to do so says something..Version: 1.4

The controls are laggy and they sometimes stick. If I hired a programmer that produced such a buggy product, they would shortly be looking for a job elsewhere. If I could give 0 stars I would. ✓ Getting there but needs workUsing iPhone 8+. Beam up works only some of the time but when I shoot the capture ship, my second gun disappears just after it starts to descend to join my gun on the ground. Also, my thumb on the joystick obscures too much of the action - constantly getting hit by stuff I can’t see. You should set an option to use phone tilt to move right and left. ✓ Some minor improvements before it becomes greatSince it’s last update the game has gotten a lot better. It’s still pretty buggy, but if these major bugs are fixed it will become my favorite game out there. Most importantly is the missiles shooting diagonally. This makes them nearly impossibly to dodge, and never happens in the original galaga. Next, is how in the first level the enemies don’t attack. Last for this list is how when you die, the game doesn’t actually stop while you respawn, in other words instead of waiting for the last enemy to go back in formation and then respawning you, the game keeps going and the enemies keep attacking instead of waiting for you to respawn..Version: 1.9

Overall, the game seems close enough to the original, and movement is alright, but i don’t have an option to use my keyboard instead of the buttons on the screen. The shoot button would be ok, but the directional button is a hassle to use because i have to keep making sure my fingers are in the right place. ✓ Pretty awfulI can’t believe this game. You can’t get the two ships. You can’t put your name in for the high score and if you don’t get a high score the game never restarts. It just stays at the end of the game and you will need to refresh the app. You would think an apple developer would at least play the game once to understand that this game is frustrating. ✓ Absolutely horribleI’ve never regretted buying anything more than I regret buying this game. You can’t control the movement or the shooting ONE BIT. At one point I didn’t even have my finger on the screen to shoot yet it continued to shoot all by itself. Same with my ship moving around the screen. ✓ So Childhood Ruined..I bought this game mainly because of the nostalgia I got from seeing it in the App Store. ✓ Fairly faithful Galaga homageControls are a bit touchy, with the rate of movement taking some getting used to as it feels too fast. I turned on auto fire but no idea how that happened, so it would be nice to have an instruction and settings page. Also would be great to be able to change from landscape to portrait orientation on the Ipad to feel more like it was in the arcade. Otherwise, faithful reproduction of the graphics and most game mechanics. Thank you! Edit: turns out the auto fire is a bug, not a feature, as the fire button gets "stuck".
