✓ Surprisingly decentI was a king of Galaga back in the 80’s, so I know the game inside and out. It would take me 40 minutes to earn the first million points. I could literally play for hours on one quarter. Reminiscing here—sorry. This version of Galaga is not perfect, but it is surprisingly decent. It’s tough on a large iPhone screen. I’ll have to try an iPad. Some ship movements seem a bit too fast, and shooting at the bugs seems faster that it should be. I’ve seen some other differences, so I guess the app developer did not intend the game to be an exact replica to the original Galaga. I’m curious how shoo movements would be with the iPhone’s volume buttons. Well done. I look forward to more improvements..Version: 1.9
✓ Great but different on iPad/iPhoneGreat to have such a realistic mobile version of Galaga, thank you - any chance of Ten Yard Fight?? The aliens come down closer to your ship on the iPhone than they do on the iPad. This makes it easier to hit them accurately, but harder to see and avoid their low or hidden missile release. So, higher accuracy rates but lower scores on the iPhone. Mine is a 7, maybe the Maxes and bigger screen versions have less of an issue. Great game!.Version: 1.9

✓ Why is this so low rated??This rendition of Galaga was the perfect combination of difficulty and captures the best version of Galaga, where you can fire fast. It’s not too easy since enemies fly at you fast so you have to be quick. It’s got little to no glitches, good frame rates, and has the original music!! This needs to be rated higher! ✓ Please fixHello, so I bought the game, regardless of the comments. I haven’t had any lag. The only thing that I dislike is when the enemy shoots the bullets fall way to fast. It also takes to long for you to get your upgrade. Besides that everything is amazing. Just like the original one..Version: 1.4

✓ A Good Replication of 1980’s GalagaI play this on my 12.9” iPad Pro. Can I ask for a request? On the start page can an additional option for full screen with the control pad be added? The full screen touch control we have now does not respond like the control pad. For me and my playing configuration it would make a big difference. What are your thoughts? ✓ PotentialThe game is great, the biggest issue rn is the behavior of enemy projectiles. They act like homing missles which is different from the original. Once that issue is done the game with be on the right track..Version: 1.9

✓ Great throwback!!!An amazing feel for the old arcade games everyone wants to revisit. I haven’t experienced the bugs I’ve seen on older posts , everything is perfect except...... Come on man (developers) the game is way too heard with the split second diagonal shots from enemies! I know this is Galax Defender, not the original but, that slight difference makes the game heard to want to play as addictive as it is. Great breakthrough though!!! ✓ Lovely!I have only played this with the new control scheme and it was a wonderful surprise. The panelled display allowing fingers to stay out of the way is absolutely necessary for a game like this. I can’t imagine why the original developer hasn’t kept a faithful version going, but credit to the current developer. Really happy to be able to play such an enjoyable game. Thanks!.Version: 1.9

✓ Amazing!! Sounds exactly the same, and fun!!The sounds are exactly the same as the arcade machine and the controls are easy to use. This mobile version doesnt do bonus lives and the gameplay is a little easier than the arcade machine which probably balances everything out. I love this version!!!.Version: 1.9

✓ Problems have been fixed; GREAT APP NOW!Look. I ignored everything and bought it out of desperation for a Galaga app. I was right in my decision. I noticed NONE of the issues brought up by anyone else here, so I assume they’ve been fixed. I would have rated it four stars, simply because the projectiles that enemies launch at you angle towards you you instead of going straight down like in the original Galaga. Rated five stars anyway in the hopes to convince others to buy app and support developer so he can keep improving this Galaga port. Grade: A-.Version: 1.4

✓ A decent port that’s the best you can getI’ve been trying to get Galaga on my phone again after remembering it and there isn’t really a port of the game out there like I thought it would be. I read the reviews, but I bit the bullet, and it’s overall decent, but the challenge isn’t there like I remember, I do hope that a Original Mode will be made in this port. ✓ Excellent Little GameExcellent adaptation of the old arcade game to mobile. If anything, it is too responsive if you are used to the old controls. The only short-coming is that you cannot turn off the sound, so you cannot listen to anything other than the game’s sound effects. Fix that and it will be perfect..Version: 1.9

✓ Better with recent update.Lots lots better since last update. Great game to have. Still needs some work. Would like if the enemy ship could capture one of mine like in the original game so I can have two ships shooting. Also don’t like the enemy fire shoots at me sideways instead of straight down. The two chooses for controls is better, I always liked the joystick best. It works a lot better since the last update. Almost deleted the game, glad I didn’t. I suggest you go down to Walmart and buy one of the mini games of Galaga they have and make this more like that. Love that I can rapid fire now like in the original. Keep up the good updates. ✓ Great, but better on iPad vs phoneTerrific implementation of a classic. Plays better on a iPad vs Phone, primarily because of the way it has to work on a phone in arcade mode. This is due to reduced height on phone version, leading to incoming shots Insta-hitting. iPad doesn’t have this issue. Sound is very true to original l, brings back fond memories from my youth in the 80’s game parlour playing this classic with my friends. One thing that I would improve slightly, is that this games feels like it’s running about 10% faster than the arcade version, but that’s less noticeable on iPad. Great stuff, good fun..Version: 1.9

✓ Original oldschoolArcade games weren't 'arcade' games for those of us old enough to have been introduced to them as barroom/lounge amusements....No complex social trappings, talisman hunting, just hand-eye coordination & points. It's still fun to have the original pin-ball replacements as simulacra on hand for momentary diversion. Here, Galaga is well-simulated, the original look, action & pace excellently realized. Haven't experienced any of the animation/processing glitches cited when the app was first released. There is some challenge with simulated toggle controls on recreated oldschool games on small devices, haptic issues on touchscreens, but I don't find my thumbs or indexes sliding off the button or toggle unduly on my iPads, for example, with this game. Very playable. There might have been more electromechanical issues with the controls of the average heavily used barroom machines back in the day than with slick touchscreens...!.Version: 1.9
✓ Wow! What a BummerInitially I was very excited to see that the game was available and then when I downloaded it, I was really excited that it was like the original... Then I started playing it and I noticed the left/right button was not working correctly I began to notice the fire button was intermittent, I just figured it was me.... kept playing and hoping that I would get my thumbs to work right ... It wasn’t me... Unfortunately it’s the game..😞Very Buggy. This could be a really fun game if it worked as it was designed... Now after playing game some more I found that if you play game in Wide Screen all the “bugs” I said were there... are gone! So now I have to say this is really a fun game and the only negative I can find is; that the original game had patterns that this game doesn’t... Some changes were made, but it’s mostly the same. One critique I have is the controls. The D pad is really weird to control and the shoot button is kinda hard to see since the side bars are so distracting. Good game that stays close to the classic. Much appreciated..Version: 1.9
