✓ Outstanding App for motorcyclistsI have been using Calimoto for around 2 years and can’t underestimate how good this is for creating motorcycle routes. I often lead rides and often get complimented on the route choice and asked how I know so many great roads and some of the more off-beat routes, even in our own area. I own up to using Calimoto and others have since downloaded this great app. It would be great if the free areas were a bit bigger but I understand the company it in its infancy and needs funding. 5 star product, a must for any biker..Version: 4.3.7

I'm not an expert, but maybe if it was Google Maps based it would probably give less accuracy issues (missing or wrong roads, travel time estimation); it would be easier to use during navigation and planning too! ✓ Been a user for a few yearsAt first when I started to use Calimoto back in 2018 I wasn’t a huge fan. The idea was brilliant but the app was clunky and if you missed a turn the app would freak out and not reroute. I’ve kept tabs on it after the updates and over the past few months it’s blown me away. Reroutes are no longer an issue and it finds a the twisty roads like a king. I just came back from a 2 hour drive that a calimoto driver recommended and it was one of the best drives of my life. ✓ CalimotoBy far the best route planning motorcycle app out there. And I’ve tried a few! Very easy to plan routes. Highlights interesting mountain passes and twisty routes as you ride. And in the planning mode, by selecting the ‘super twisty’ option, it will take you to beautiful places you would never have imagine existed! Or at least that’s the case for me living in Japan. It shows and records altitude as you ride and a whole host of other features. And most importantly of course, you can choose the option for off-line mapping..Version: 6.4.6
✓ The only app motorcyclists needThere’s a lot of Strava-like and wannabe Facebook apps for motorcyclists, and to be honest, I’m pretty over “social media”. I need an app that’s actually going to do something for me, not just feed my data into a hivemind under guise of “community”. Luckily, there’s also Calimoto, which is an actual tool for me to use when I feel like riding. The route planner tool is pretty awesome, and as a new rider I love being able to just pick a direction, the length, and have Calimoto find me a great round-trip route. Even without the route planner, the map view with twisty roads highlighted makes deciding on a rough route way easier than just using Apple Maps or similar. Also kudos to devs for making what feels like a pretty “solid” iOS app when some of the other motorcycle apps I’ve used seem pretty janky..Version: 4.2.9
✓ Amazing!You guys killed this app! I don’t own a bike yet (hopefully soon) but use it for driving in my car. Works amazing, i’ve tried a couple other apps to generate routes. This app is packed with so so many useful features, i’m still finding out awesome things you can do with it. The round trip planner is my favorite part, especially because you can set the compass direction (for me always west towards mountains). Keep up the great work, premium is absolutely worth it but a monthly option would be good to have for me, I don’t use it in the winter so paying for the whole year is annoying..Version: 6.5.5

✓ Recent updates put this app back on topIt’s taken a while, but after their not-so-great “v2” revision, recent updates have fixed the vast majority of issues and it’s great to see this app return to form. Used it on a recent tour around Wales and Calimoto picked out consistently great routes with minimum fuss. Route planning on your phone (rather than desktop) now also more reliable. Great app! __________________________________ This is one of my favourite apps (formerly an unreserved and enthusiastic 5*****) but have to say this latest revision is a step backwards. The speed camera alerts show wrong values (eg. “65” in a 30mph zone) and some of the screens now feel cluttered. I’m sure they’ll get this back on track though (here’s hoping!).Version: 7.0.23

It’s easy and quick to use and has the option to add POI along the way, such as biker hang outs, petrol stations, food stops and Bike shops - what more do you need? First time using it, I had problems getting the voice guided navigation going but it worked on the second ride. ✓ Undisputed BEST routing appI have spent more hours than I care to count researching and trying out apps to help me plan long motorcycle trips as well as casual weekend rides. This is by far the absolute best, the navigation is really good, and the routes it finds are spectacular. The only issue I ever have is when searching for directions with the trip planner web app. I often have to find the addresses in google maps and then manually drop a pin in the trip planner. I’ve been using the free version for a few months and just bought premium for a year. One feature I would like to suggest is some ability to organize, sort, and filter Planned Tours. I only have about 20 Planned routes and they get hard to find as I scroll through. Bottom line, this app is awesome and I’ve been recommending it to all my friends. ✓ Needs more roadsSo far I have found the route planning pretty easy and I like the navigation! The only problem I have and it’s a deal breaker is that it won’t let me select level 3 roads, which in my area are Forest service 3 digit roads that may be dirt or gravel.. so when I know I want to link a section together on my adventure bike it will not allow me to select the road and auto snaps point to a longer more maintained route. I wish there was an option to be able to select any road you want..Version: 5.1.10

✓ Awesome, but needs work stillGot the full Calimoto app today. Overall, awesome. The maps, the routes, the availability (not accuracy) is just what I wanted. The max speed is waaaaay off. Definitely underestimates that for us. Disappointing that the lean angle is just overall not left and right individually. I can drag my finger along the charts to see the data of speed, acceleration, and lean angle but I expected that it to show me where on the map each of the chart points happens. Speed camera/danger points is worth the upgrade alone. Fix these bits and I’ll be a happy bunny..Version: 5.1.1

✓ Could be the ultimate with one changeI have been using this app for a year and find it superb in so many ways. The guidance interface is better than nearly every other sat nav. However, it always defaults to ‘Twisty’ route planning. This is great when you want that, but not so good when wanting a simple route. Sometimes I like to plan a route with multiple waypoints and I just want to follow the path I’ve created. Sadly, if you miss a waypoint Calimoto recalculates using the twisty option which can really screw up your plans. Dear developers, please allow the user to choose their own ‘default’ route option rather than always going ‘Twisty’. So this and it will truly be a ‘do all’, 5 star motorcycle navigation app..Version: 6.4.4
✓ Decent Nav App!TL;DR: Used this for the first time today for a randomly generated round trip route and it was amazing! Use your brain with this app and don’t blindly follow as it will send you down some backstreets or slight detours when you could remain on the main/current road. Things that would massively improve the app. - Speed cameras - Road speed limit - Better navigation that includes street names and such as it seems to be left, right, forward-ish left and right. (Happy to be wrong) - Personally I love Waze but it’s meant for car drivers as usually has the fastest route. ✓ Designed for bikers by bikersYou can tell a lot of thought has gone into this app as it’s purely for bikers; not a general nav tool slightly tailored for our needs. If you choose the windy road option be prepared to ride some roads that are single track. But overall the choices it makes are exciting and interesting and you’ll ride roads near your usual routes that you never knew existed. I can’t wait to use it on my France tour later this year. ✓ Unlocks a new riding experienceHaving upgraded to the premium version of Calimoto, it’s really opened up a new riding experience. To be able to put in a destination and let the app plan the route and know it will send you on a journey of scenic roads, with little traffic is fantastic. On a recent trip to the Norfolk coast from Nottinghamshire we hardly saw any real traffic. We’ve done similar trips to Derbyshire as well and found roads we’d never have dreamt of taking. ✓ Great Work in ProgressThis app is awesome not just for moto guys but also for car lovers like myself, I use it to find fun new routes in my car when I want to go for a drive! The roads I’ve found so far are awesome and I had no idea they even existed. My only complaints are 1) The map itself lags a little behind, so I missed a few turns my first time out until I realized this. 2) The planning system is not yet perfect and for some reason places don’t show up when I search them sometimes but I believe the team is already working on this. Overall a great app with a huge audience! I might recommend looking into a weather radar overlay in the future if you guys have time! Choose 50 km or 500 km, east or west and the rest, it can calculate a great round trip, or more. It even has unscheduled pit stops like petrol or food. I totally recommend it. ✓ Super route trouvéJ’ai bien aimé pouvoirs planifier ma route sur mon Pc et en suite partir découvrir les nouvelles routes trouvées. Par contre le système de gps ne semble pas au point ça me dit que je doit tourner à 300m mais arriver à 300 ca recalcule pour me dire un autre 300m à faire. c’est arrivé à chaque point ou intersection que je devais changer de direction. Ce qui est mélangeant et si par malheur tu passe une intersection et reviens sur tes pas le système à déjà recalculer un autre itinéraire. j’ai fait 50 kilomètres de détour avant de m’apercevoir que je n’allais pas dans la bonne direction. Peut être possible de bloqué la redirection.... De plus tant qu’à y être une indication de la vitesse permise serai bien... Et pourquoi pas que l’écran (suivi) avec les infos supplémentaires n’est pas disponible lorsque que le suis un trajet. L’application est belle facile d’utilisation et suite à ta ride des infos comme la vitesse Max accélération Max ect c’est quand même fun a avoir....Version: 5.1.7

More than a few times I have found the navigation indicates the right of way at imminent junctions wrongly, either I have to stop a little unexpectedly or don’t have to stop when I thought I did. I know the road signs are there to read but it has happened enough to mention. The menu is not intuitive. Too often I find myself hunting for the function/menu/button I want. I would like to be able to add my own categories for favourites. They are my only niggles, Calimoto is my go to nav app. Great routes generated and clear visual and audio instruction..Version: 7.6.8

Fired up the app, chose south of here and 2 hours. Popped the garage door. Set off. Couldn’t have been easier. I’ve never had such superb, un-congested, scenic, relaxed, twisty and well planned route in the south east UK before……. let alone with zero effort. Clear well timed cues and directions. ✓ Good but Could be betterWhen comparing the App with the Tom Tom Rider, with the App there is no speed limit indicator or warning. At roundabouts, although the exit number is correct the directional arrows are wrong for the UK. Could be confusing for someone arriving from another country. No option to plot a round trip to a destination. Wants to navigate same way back. No traffic congestion indication. I do like the statistics and how the are indicated on your recorded route. The App is available on the phone which is more convenient. Tom Tom rider has the App MyDrive, although you can plan a route and download it to the device you can’t use for navigation..Version: 6.4.6
