✓ Want my Money Back!Terrible customer service! Paid for Pro subscription, was locked out and attempted a few times and finally got through customer service. When they gave me access again, I had noticed that I was back to the basic subscription, shortly after I was locked out again.Since then, I have been trying to get a hold of customer service and they are not responding to my emails. This is not the way to do business! Please do not purchase this APP. You will get ripped off!.Version: 3.3.6
✓ Budgeting gone messy.I don't like this new version of Dollarbird. It has completely changed everything, not to mention once it merged over it messed up all my future transaction doubled numbered, missed numbers, and entered them back on wrong dates... Also it just kicked me out. Keeps telling me to re-activate my email. Doesn't send a link to my email to do so. So not pleased with this update I enjoyed the dollarbird "classic" better. ✓ Updating my review.If you are like others on this thread that really enjoyed the classic version of Dollarbird but don’t like the new one, look no further than an app called Money Manager by Realbyte Inc. That app is literally perfect in every way in my opinion and is infinitely more powerful and modern that this app. And they even have a free version but you should purchase it for the one time $3.99 price tag. I would even buy it if it was monthly. It is just amazing. I’ve searched for so long for a Dollarbird Classic replacement and I have finally found it. Everyone told Dollarbird’s developers that the classic was much better and they don’t really listen or care so moving on finally!.Version: 3.3.6
✓ DisappointingThey moved to a pay every year subscription based model. Used to be free. I would have gladly paid 5$ for basic functionality. They have all these features to share wallets and budget but I have no use for them. And the worst is they collect your data and upload to the cloud. This data shouldn't even leave my phone. If it's free, I expect to be data analyzed. But now that it isn't, there's no option for any. They want to milk the $ Out of it. Instead of offering something worth payments in addition to spending data, they crapped out and paywalled us. I'm just gonna Dev my own app since nothing else simple exists for free. ✓ Could Easily Be BetterBeen using Dollarbird for about 4 years now, and think the older version was better. Current app is buggy and the online requirement seems unnecessary. ✓ Good app but not worth the subscription feeThere used to be an app exactly like this called Vault. It was a one-time purchase and it was perfect. Dollar bird is a good app for simple cash flow tracking but not worth the fee. Everything is subscription based now when it doesn’t have to be. It’s not like this app is getting piles of updates and work done to it. It’s a simple cash flow tracker.Version: 5.3.3
✓ Team function does not workI decided to pay for this app to collaborate with my partner on our budget, but the team function does not work! I add him to the team and the app keeps dropping him. This happens repeatedly. Each time he gets an email saying he has been revoked and then he has to join again. I emailed customer service and have yet to get a response. ✓ Session Expiry IssueOverall I like how the app operates, I enjoy having fixed categories but also being able to create my own. The only downside is at least once a week you’re having to log back into the app because you’re session has expired, which becomes a little frustrating over time..Version: 3.1.2

✓ Buggy, not as cleanThe old dollarbird was so clean and did exactly what I needed. That app seriously turned my personal finances around. This new version had a lot of great things, but it's just so buggy. It freezes and shuts down all the time, you essentially can't use it when you don't have cell service/wifi, when you flip through different months on the calendar it's a 50/50 on whether the next month will actually load, the transfer feature between different account calendars just doesn't work (I try to use it to denote when I'm putting money in my savings), and switching between different calendars also takes two or three tries before it actually loads. I could keep going... Dollarbird classic was absolutely crucial in the last year for me, and it's disappointing to have to switch to this new version and then not have a product that can handle the type of use its users have come to depend on..Version: 3.0.2

✓ DB classic is bestDB Classic is wonderful, functions perfectly. Ive used it daily for years with no trouble. One of the last updates to DB classic broke it for iPhone XS screens. I’ve got 10 items recurring on the first of each month, I can no longer scroll through that entire list and check them all off. It stays below the bottom of the screen. Unusable now, forcing me to use this crappy new one or not use recurring items anymore which is the whole point of being able to track expenses. Very unhappy about being forced into the new app from DB classic. What does it mean by “shutting down” oct 27? One of my biggest complaints is adding items on this version. Categories used to be so easy. Now it’s another click and scroll through a tiny window. Horrible in use! So many other “features” this app has are just clunky, unnecessary, and function poorly. I like the addition of photos and online access but having those is not worth dealing with the horrible operation of this app. There was nothing wrong with DB Classic. ✓ Used to be free, now a subscriptionI used to absolutely LOVE this app. It allowed you put in unlimited transactions and income that would show you each days remaining balance on your calendar. One day I tried adding in a transaction and I found out you now you have to pay a monthly subscription to do that. I think this is the most ridiculous thing because these apps are supposed to HELP you save money, not encourage you to spend more of it. I understand if you need more support, but if you guys absolutely needed more money, maybe instead of a subscription you can charge a one time fee or something or add advertisements. ✓ Used to love this until last update.So they fixed the app hiding old transactions, great! However, now the app runs so slowly I cannot stand it. It also duplicates transactions, or doesn’t add them at all. Seriously, whatever update you did a month ago, please take it back. There’s no shame in it, Instagram had to do it last month too. Old review: I’ve consistently used this app almost every day for the last few years to keep track of my budget, but the latest update has me quite frustrated. On the calendar there are little circles on the dates to let you know you’ve missed a scheduled transaction. Well now when I go to update the scheduled transaction it’s not there, but the circle is still there! It’s frustrating because I have all my bills scheduled, but they don’t always leave my bank on the day I schedule them for, so I just update them the next day, but now I can’t see them anymore. ✓ Would be amazing if it worked.I keep having glitches where I go to say... September, and see one balance, then it changes to another. HOWEVER, I can't confirm new transactions on the phone without it crashing. Also, in the chart view, you can't scroll to the next month as you could in db classic. Also, I can't find a way to delete categories I made by accident and now they show up in the auto-suggest. Previous: The original Ui was what was so great about db classic. ✓ Preferred classic’s UI, hate the auto-categoryStill prefer classic UI. new (current) version still sometimes has issues with auto-category. It’s faster now but sometimes still undoes what I manually clicked and makes it uncategorized. Also don’t like that it doesn’t let me scroll ahead to future months. I scroll forward and it jumps back to the current month. Would like to be able to log future potential expenses so I don’t forget later. ✓ Doesn’t Calculate Totals CorrectlyThis app used to be great and a huge help with tracking my finances. Now it doesn’t calculate totals correctly which 100% defeats the purpose of having it. I wasted an hour of my time trying to find my input mistake to correct the discrepancy between the app and my bank account but it turns out, the issue wasn’t with me. The app all of the sudden can’t do basic math?! I’ve noticed in other reviews that when this issue is mentioned, it’s completely ignored in the Dollarbird teams response. ✓ Tired of subscriptionsI’ll be honest and say that this is an excellent app; I’ve been using it for a couple of years. The choice to go to a subscription based platform is a huge disappointment. I understand the need to pay for the app. I would gladly pay a one time fee of $20, or even $50 but I’m so sick of having to pay subscriptions for things these days that I will simply do without Dollarbird. ✓ New version is horrible UI/UXI love the old Dollarbird. That was a thing of beauty. Simple and intuitive design interface. Functionally was exactly what was needed. This new version is SH*T! Whoever thought this was a good idea on the development team needs to go back to school. The UI/UX is miserable and confusing. All these erroneous functions that serve no purpose and doesn't even work. What's the point of creating this new version and ask for premium subscription when it's actually worst than the original? ✓ New interface is not as good as originalDollarbird classic was such a good expense tracker app. It was simple, easy to use, colourful but very clean looking. I am disappointed that this new version of Dollarbird is inferior to the original despite being able to sync with cloud. Both the calendar and the transactions are larger now, so now you can only see two transactions per day, until you scroll. When you go in the report to see the spending of each category, it is now ordered alphabetically, the original version put them in descending order from most expensive to least, which is much better. This version tries to pack more details in the report but it ends up looking less clean and is harder to read. It also crashes a lot, and being online it is slower to load up than the original. ✓ No download from my bank?I was so excited that I thought I had finally found what I was looking for. I just want an app that will connect to my financial institution download my transactions, and show me when I’ve spent for the day. But then also take into account my scheduled transactions, my planned income, and give me a forecast for any day in the future based on that information. This looks like the perfect app, except I have to enter all my transactions manually. There is no way I could ever do that! Way too much in and out. I’m sad..Version: 3.1.2
✓ Annoying Bug, Please Update!!I've tried countless of times to fix the .01 off bug and it worked the first time but then it happened again. Now when I try to update my balance, the balance doesn't correct itself and instead the 0.01 that was suppose to go towards my balance went to my expenses instead and the balance stays the same. Under by 1 cent. It's extremely annoying. The app hasn't been updated since the 18th of August and you would think that after so many people reported the bug that the app would've had an update already to fix the issue. 🙄😪.Version: 3.0.2

✓ Not a fan of Dollarbird 3Finally being forced to switched to the new version, but desperately clinging to Classic Dollarbird. I don’t like the new interface, I find it clunky. The colored tiles take up much more space compared to the other one so I have to scroll to see multiple transactions in a day and some of the colors are too dark in grayscale mode. Also I don’t like having the categories in alphabetical order, preferred being able to order manually according to most used. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find something better, closer to DB Classic, so I’m stuck, especially since it has years of my data. But, I did try. 😔.Version: 3.3.6

✓ Freezes and crashes constantlyI am pretty disappointed by the update to Dollarbird 2, mostly for two reasons: 1) the new interface feels like it had the purpose to look good with no real purpose. Charges are harder to find and the monthly overview looks jammed. 2) A bigger letdown however is how data is handled on Dollarbird 2. Now it takes a long time after launching the app until all data has been loaded (it appears the app tries to load the most recent state from the server every time you open the app). This makes the simple process to open Dollardbird and adding charge very slow and cumbersome. Additionally the app freezes (probably also due to server communication issues) constantly. All in all the previous Dollarbird was much simpler and faster to use and this version feels heavy and slow. I am close to giving up on Dollarbird. Update after developer’s response: The app works worse than initially reported by me. It consistently freezes (approx. 9 out of the 10 times I open the app and try to add a charge it freezes). It crashes often as well. And approx once a day it logs you out so you will have to log in again. The app needs serious fixing..Version: 3.1.0
✓ Big disappointment!Like the last reviewer said, I waited a very long time for this new version, ever since I downloaded the classic, which is a great app but lacking in many useful aspects. So what a disappointment indeed ! The DB Classic has a friendlier and more ergonomic interface ! I was waiting for more options and features, like an account section where you could log in different bank accounts and credit cards, and the ability to transfer money from one account to another one... simple basic options which would have greatly improve the app. Instead, you have multiple calendars, and only if you upgrade to the premium version. And I don't really see how the premium version is worth it with so few distinctive features. The new app seems rushed and most of all unfinished. They stated that they were going to add more features and options, so I guess I 'll wait and see. I will keep using DB Classic, and exploring other budget apps, because as I stated before, the Classic is great, but there are many options missing..Version: 3.0
