Login PainAt least once a day on any of my devices this app pops up the message requiring me to re enter my password with some cheery oh that’s a bummer text. Having switched from the old, non networked app, which always worked every time this really is disappointing. It also runs like a dog if the network connection is slow - overall a fairly miserable experience sadly....Version: 3.1.1

Fantastic for Budgets!I have a strict budget every month to adhere too. Usually I would put what I spend in my notes but this becomes cluttered and unorganised. This app is fantastic for seeing what you've spent, when and what on and gives a great overview of the money I've spent. Would highly recommend to anyone on a budget or just wanting to see what they spend their monies on!.Version: 3.1.2

Almost what I was looking forI can’t believe how hard it is to find a calendar based budget app that works. I like that I don’t have to link my bank accounts. I pay full price and will continue to do so. The rest of my comments are in hopes the developer will make improvements. It does act “glitchy” and recently actually crashes when entering/moving a lot of transactions. It seems slow to update each transaction and I often find myself waiting for it to catch up, even with fast Wi-Fi. I find the search feature notion to be clunky. Sometimes it works but sometimes it only pulls up confirmed transactions instead of allowing me to see cuter planned transactions. It’s hard to get used to the fact that upcoming expenses are reflected in balance forecast but today’s expenses are not reflected until they are confirmed. The following are just wishes, but may not be for everyone: I also wish there was a way to track various “sinking fund” balances for cash savings (like the envelope system). And I wish the overall could balance be split to reflect the 3 different bank accounts I use..Version: 5.1.1

New DollarbirdAlthough accessible online, the app is quite clunky and not as snappy and quick/easy to use as the classic... 1 step forward and 3 steps back in my opinion... Hope they continue to support the classic version!.Version: 3.0.1

Extremely powerful toolThis app makes financial planning a breeze and is the main tool I use to help me make financial decisions. Minus one star because there are several known bugs that have not been fixed for probably a year now; the development and maintenance of the app seems to be either at snail-pace or has stopped all together. Nonetheless most of the bugs are minor and don’t usually take away from the utility this app provides. The only major bug I recall is that when switching time zones, some calendar items shift a day or two – making the data inaccurate and rendering the app unusable until you’re back to your normal time zone. My workaround is to temporarily change my time zone on my device to my default, if I REALLY need to use the app while traveling..Version: 3.3.6

Best Budget App out thereWorth every penny. I have been using this app for years. For me it mimics a cheque book for our chequing account. I have base spending entered for every week. I can see approximately where we will be at next week, month or year..Version: 4.0.2

Fix categories please, so they are consistentI I do like Dollarbird. It helps keep track ofeverything and is nicely colour themed. I like the breakdowns and month to month comparisons. The only thing I don’t like, and this really bothers me is that it will not know your category even if you’ve put in the same item every time or it will suddenly change the category. For instance: Safeway, which I use about 3 times a week. Dollarbird rarely gets “Groceries” as a category. Very annoying and I hope this gets fixed (say, if you put something in a category 2 or 3 times in a row, that’s the category it goes into. Thanks do like Dollarbird. I put in “Safeway” multiple times per week and sometimes it goes into groceries and sometimes it goes into eating out or uncategorized. Very annoying. Sometimes it changes categories right before you save it so you have to go back in. I would like it if when you put something in the same category for 2 consecutive times, that’s where it will automatically be put. Thanks you..Version: 3.3.6

Je ne pourrais m’en passéJ’utilise cette app depuis des années pour planifier mes dépenses et mon budget. Je l’adore et la recommande à tous !!.Version: 3.3.6

Old version was betterI've used this app religiously for almost 2 years and would even pay for an upgrade with more features but this update is B-A-D! The app constantly crashes! About 40% of the time I try to use it, it will not register the date I click on. It flips to a month or 2 forward. This is soooooo frustrating. The calendar is much more difficult to navigate and click on different dates. Swiping transactions to reconcile them is much more difficult. In the older version it was much smoother. Also you can't compare balances from one month to the next. In the old version if you were looking at the recap for your monthly expenses you could easily swipe from month to month. Why put out an update with LESS features?? Total bummer. I was so pumped to see there was an update but I am now so disappointed that I have spent this much time inputting my data and using it to track my expenses. It now has no benefit for me :-(.Version: 3.0.2

Great for a free financial tracker.Easy to use. Can access same account on the web as well as on the phone. Can split everything into categories of your choice. Haven’t seen any ads interfering with using it. I like it!.Version: 3.1.2

Download this app! This was exactly what I have been looking for, for months. Dollarbird allows me to simply track what’s coming in and what’s coming out. It’s equally easy to track repeatable, planned events (income, subscriptions, bills) as it is to track unexpected expenses. It reminds me daily to update which is very helpful. This app has been a game changer for me and my finances! Low maintenance with high impact..Version: 3.1.2

Very good appThis app is simple to use and is just what I needed. I have to maintain a minimum $ balance in my chequing account to avoid service fees. This app allows me to plug in my income and expenses and see the expected balance for my account for each day of the month to ensure that I do not fall below the minimum balance threshold on any day of the month..Version: 3.1.2

A budget app I can easily use and understandI wanted an App that was easy to enter in data, calculate my balance and personalise the information for different expenses so that all the information was available in the one place without having to navigate around the App. I have always been a terrible saver and this App really helped me to be accountable for my spending. It has taught me to cut costs and watch my expenses. For the first time in years I am finally saving money and get really excited as I see it increasing each week. I am not great at maths so this App was very easy to understand the data once its entered. Believe me I have tried many of these budget apps and even paid for some. This is by far THE BEST!.Version: 3.0.2

Love this app! This app is a much better way to track cash flow than the google calendar I was marking up by hand. The AI feature is handy for auto selecting expense categories based on the brief titles of each entry. I would give five stars except for one annoying bug - it constantly logs me out of the app, sometimes more than once per day, sometimes after several days of usage. My iOS is up to date; I hope this is something that can be fixed in the future. The benefits of the app far outweigh this inconvenience, however..Version: 3.3.6

Lots of little issues since the new DBSince changing to the new updated DB, lots of bugs! I dont mind the new look but lots of technical issues have come up. Its not adding up at the end of the month! Something is definitely wrong with the app. It isn’t functioning properly. I hope they fix it quick! I used to love this app! :-(.Version: 3.3.6

Simple app for manually tracking spendingEasy to use. Clear displays. Simple..Version: 3.3.6

Good Software Costs MoneyI am a long time user of Dollarbird, was really sad when it swapped to having no free tier. I tried similar apps but Dollarbird’s is simply better. The annual fee is a small price to pay for the financial management I get.Version: 5.2.3

Best app ever!I’ve tried lots of finance apps. Dollarbird is by far the best one and I recommend it to everyone I know. I love how you can manually input everything, and even add pictures or notes. I also love how you can set up recurring things and see exactly how much you will have in your account on a certain future date. This app has everything I’m looking for. I was more than happy to pay for the paid version in their latest update. It’s well worth a few bucks a month..Version: 4.0.3

Not so goodThe original version which is now DB Classic is way better than this new Version. And I don't know why I have both now on my phone..Version: 3.0

I Use It Everyday - Thank YouI only install apps that I need on my work phone for travel. It includes Dollabird, Uber, Delta, Marriott, & Starbucks and Caribou. Thanks for making a great app. I use it everyday. In the future if you added more features and benefits I’d definitely purchase. One thing I’d love to log everyday along with the money calendar is also a workout log and food log that could somehow be integrated with the current money calendar..Version: 3.3.6

Seriously Best Financial App Ever!!!I discovered Dollarbird about three or four years ago. I echo another user’s comments I can’t understand why mor people don’t use this app. I have uses them all. Most track budgets - as this app does as well - but the calendar cash flow view is simply the most powerful budgeting tool I’ve ever used! Not only can I track my budget against my spending categories but I can control and predict and run budget scenarios quickly. I have never felt more completely in control of my finances. Also the fact that this app does not link to a bank connects you to your financial life and keeps you constantly aware of where you stand. I thought it would be hard or I might forget but that never happens. Also there are reminders to add transactions and the ability to program any type of transactions. Also the new ability to make a duplicate calendar to run budget scenarios: new monthly expenses, buy a new car, change in mortgage/rent, save for a trip, change in salary you name it. The ability to literally see your daily cash flow for months into to future has proven to be a game changer. The new look is the perfect refresh. It keeps all the functionality of the app but updates the visuals in a way the makes the app even more useful and useable. Great work all associated with this app!!.Version: 4.0.0

Was Great to Begin With …This app was great to begin with, and just keeps on getting better👍🏽 The digital envelope concept never worked for my wife and I - whereas this visual calendar based concept ‘just works’. We are both on board for budget / expense tracking and can now easily visualize where our accounts are at. We have multiple accounts, all with different banks, so having a simple and centralized system is perfect for us..Version: 4.2.8

Great toolThis app does what I want it to and that’s help me forecast my cash flow. I upgrade so the version I have has more features than the basic app. I can’t give it 5 stars because I’ve found some annoying quirks in this recurring error the app makes. It seems that sometimes when I click a date, the calendar will jump forward a few months but it does not change the month displayed. 😳🙄. Annoying but I roll with it. 🤷‍♀️.Version: 3.3.6

SuperJ'aime le visuel de l'application, facile d'utilisation.. C'est génial pour suivre ses comptes!.Version: 3.0.1

Exactly what I was looking forDollarbird is the only budget app that could replace my spreadsheet. The calendar view is ideal for people who prefer to look ahead when budgeting, incorporating future expenses to project your balance at the end of the month. This is exactly what I was looking for and comes complete with balance updates to reset your starting balance when things get out of whack. Finally a budgeting app that works they way I like to budget without me having to change my process..Version: 3.1.2

Amazing appMakes keeping track of finances effortless, I always know what disposable income I have..Version: 3.1.2

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🖖🏻This is just what I needed. I can look at any given day and see what my balance is. For example, when I enter my paycheck, I can look forward 2 weeks at a simple glance to see how much will be left after all my bills have drafted my bank account. Then I easily know how much money to transfer to my grocery/spending account. Thank you!!! Love it!!.Version: 3.0.2

Excellent Forecasting ToolThis is my #1 financing/budgeting app! Once you have your finances under control, this app seriously helps you forecast and set goals for savings. I’m able to see just how much money I’ll have once all my bills process each month, and I’m able to see how much money I’ll have saved in the future. Love this app. It’s my favorite!.Version: 5.2.1

Favorite Simplified Tracking ToolThis app is my favorite simple way to track spending and balances. I subtract my savings so that the balance shown is just my spending/loose cash and like to know how much I will have on any given day based on reoccurring expenses, and daily spending so that I can see when I’ll have extra cash to save extra one week, or for larger purchases. I think it’s also a really great way to EASILY avoid overcharging if you can see any danger zone days where cash might be tighter for one expense or the other and want to avoid dipping into savings..Version: 3.3.6

Great App - needs some cleanupReally quick and easy way to track spending and look at simple trends. Keeps you accountable to yourself. Great app. This new version is better than the older one. However it could use some minor clean up. Crashes very occasionally. You should be able to add a spend when not using data or wifi and it updates when online..Version: 3.0.1

Really simpleLooks great. Really simple. And I like the calendar approach. One suggestion: make use of iPhone’s 3D Touch to quickly enter a transaction..Version: 3.1.1

Just what I have been looking for.Just started using the free version of the app as well as inputting data online. The platform is great. It is just what I have been looking for after going through budget app after budget app looking for a clean simple UI that feels intuitive and is easy to update. The app succinctly gives me a few that lets me know my spend history and I am able to see where I can save and what I have left over. Thank you!.Version: 3.1.2

Good stuffI love the fact they have a website also - such a dream. I’m always using my laptop for work so I love being able to jump on the desktop version, which I use quite a lot. The mobile version is handy when I’m remote. I knocked off one star because they no longer have icons - they changed to colours only instead, which I don’t like as much. Too many shades get confusing..Version: 3.3.6

Does exactly what I need it for BUTIt really really needs to add an option for bi-weekly repetition.Version: 3.3.6

Great appSometimes the app stop responding when you are creating transaction. The AI also can be improved..Version: 3.1.1

FantasticI’ve been using a calendar spreadsheet budget, manually entering every thing in for 7 months.. this app automates everything!! Love it!!.Version: 4.0.3

Great app - if I ever lost it I’d be screwedThe only thing I would want changed (and it’s not even close to a game changer) is that when you do a balance update, the difference goes into the “money spent” chart under it’s own category. Other than that, this is a great app. It allows me to see my bills in real time from this moment to weeks down the road to months down the road to even years down the road. It would also be cool if it had a savings feature where it would keep track of what you should have in savings - now and later - based on what you tell the app you have and what you are putting in..Version: 3.1.2

Best budgeting app!My husband and I have been using DB for years now. I decided to keep up with it a year ago around the time it became paid only. I think it’s so worth it! Before deciding to stick with DB I tried many of the popular budgeting apps. Some were super fancy and seemingly powerful in their capabilities. None could show me where I was day to day SO CLEARLY. You can see where you’ll be in a week, a month, a year. I have also multiple calendars. One for my current situation (both spouses working), one for my upcoming situation (stay at home mom) and also one for my savings account. I concur with a different user that I never forget to add my transactions. Whenever I need anything y email the DB team and they’re freaky fast! Faster than Jimmy John’s! I’m happy to support them and very grateful for such an awesome tool! Thanks DB team!.Version: 5.0.1

Version 3.3.4You guys are doing everything right! IN LOVE with the Cashflow view and thanks for bring the monthly view into the app! It feels like Christmas! (Oh wait it is)! Thank you Dollarbird team!.Version: 3.3.4

HATE the new layoutI used DB Classic for years and was recently forced to update since they’re phasing out the old app. I HATE it. I hate that the platform is no longer user-friendly. I hate that I have to scroll through a list of categories, the auto-decimal setting is gone, and every time I move the screen I end up on a new date. The classic format was super simple; I’m switching to Mint. ✌🏻.Version: 3.3.6

Best budgeting appI don’t typically write reviews but this app has helped me so much with my finances. Unlike other apps this one allows you to manually add all your expenses and income, and categorize it any way you like. For some people that might be a chore but that’s exactly what I need with my money being in different places and also wanting to split it up my own way. Not only that it allows you to see your monthly and yearly expenses and income for each individual category and the subcategories. It’s really put into perspective my spending habits. I do pay for it, but it’s definitely worth the investment !! Thank you for this app!! Wish more people knew about it !.Version: 5.3.1

Amazing financial tool, some bugsI use Dollarbird everyday! Even for the smallest transactions, I open up the app and categorize it in a way that makes sense to me. It’s really given me more awareness and power over my assets! Some bugs after the latest update (balance updates won’t save) but none-the-less I’m very happy. Hope to see more future applications with regards to future worth analysis for savings accounts or even weekly financial tips..Version: 3.1.0

Brings clarity and saves time managing your money! Before: I’d spend hours budgeting a month on my spreadsheet. Now it takes just a min a day and I have even better perception of what our future financial situation looks like. Suddenly I can see opportunity to consistently put money away for retirement and how long it’ll take me to save for a deposit on a house - both important things that have been neglected for nearly a decade..Version: 3.3.6

Great app, but expensiveI've been using this app for years now and I really love it. I use it to track every expense and income I have. I'm very saddened to learn that the app will no longer be free, but I totally understand. I would gladly pay for it if it could be a reasonable single paiement, but 4$/month is a lot, that's 50$/year for an app that is supposed to help me save money... Like I said, I under their reasoning, but the price is greedy in my opinion, I just can't afford it..Version: 4.0.3

Easy to useCalendar view is great..Version: 3.1.1

I’m goshThis pizza it’s the one. You don’t know about things until you try them and then, maybe, after you try them, you night then have the “know” that all the smokers wee talking about, boyyyyeeeee. But don’t let it be the one who take it your word from me, yeah? Just give it to the yourself one more the try and then you’ll get it . honestly I don’t even ever deeply know how I got along without these piza.Version: 3.3.6

A nice app but some concernsReally like the calendar format, but have some concerns about the longevity. Looks like the app was redesigned from the ground up a while back but still hasn’t added in some features from past versions. I also personally keep deleting entries by mistake (intuition suggests I should be able to switch days by swiping, but it deletes). No way I can see to get my entries back! Otherwise I love it, but reluctant to place all my expense tracking in the tool for the above reasons..Version: 3.3.6

Disappointed....Waited a REALLY long time for the release of the new version. It was over-hyped. The UI on the original app was/is nicer to use. I will stick with the original version..Version: 3.0

Why don’t more people know about this app??This app is one of the best I’ve found for tracking my expenses. I’ve been trying to moderate my spending the last few months (I tried Mint but their AI would mess up the categories all the time and their interface wasn’t as responsive). Dollarbird is amazing - the AI is really on point and categorizes my transactions correctly every time and it’s really easy to use. It’s also a huge upgrade from entering in a spreadsheet manually. I don’t mind having to input each expense as it helps me be more aware of spending and Dollarbird also has limits to help you as well. It’s also great if you’re trying to save for a trip or something. At the end of the month I can easily see how much money I have left over and can put away that amount into savings. So confused why it’s not featured on more websites/videos - it’s really upgraded how I track my expenses! Overall think this is a fantastic tool for anyone looking to take control over their spending and build better financial habits..Version: 5.2.3

👍👍👍.Version: 3.0.2

I love DollarbirdThis is a great app for tracking money. I love how we make our own categories!.Version: 3.3.6

Wish I could keep using itI’ve been using Dollarbird for over 7 years and I’ve loved it. I’ve recommended it to anyone looking for an app to help track their money. I love the calendar way to track so I can see upcoming payments. I would pay a one time fee, but I can’t afford a monthly fee. I wish I could keep using, but I’ll have to find something else. I hope that you guys stick around because you make an easy to use money app..Version: 4.0.3

Love this appI pay for a annual subscription and have used this app for years. It’s the only budgeting app that works in calendar format simply and effectively. Thank you Dollarbird team Much appreciation..Version: 5.2.1

Great app. Needs improvementI love the app and have been using it since 2019 and have referred it to other people many times. I like the ability to change categories and it auto refills them after a while based on the entries. I am not sure why the balance no longer matches what i see in my bank account (i tried to keep up and to do checks/balances) and have gone back to the beginning too but i can find the “missing” entries anymore. the fact that some paycheck entries do not show the cents bothers me still even though i was told it’s being accounted for. I tried to add multiple years and divide it up after but the starting balance can only be set for the current date and not a date in the past :( would be nice to have yearly calendars if you are paying foe the pro version. I like it overall and it keeps me organized. Looking forward to more updates though..Version: 4.1

Great app for tracking expenses manually!Happy with the app!.Version: 3.3.6

Excellent conceptEven though I use another app for tracking my finances with greater detail, Dollarbird gives me a good view about how my income will last thorough the current month and the next one.Version: 3.3.6

Easy and freeVery convenient and user friendly app.Version: 3.3.6

LoveHelps me keep track of my finances really well. Love that I can budget and track for months.Version: 3.3.6

Finance tracker with calendarLove this app. Been using it free for a few years. Really like how it keeps track of all my spending and future recurring transactions. Makes my life so much easier. Just today 3/11 the app informed me that either the app closes down or people start subscribing. I chose the $4.99 a month. Worth it completely. There’s also also a search option for specific transaction. Love it!.Version: 4.0.3

Perfect for managing budgetReally enjoy this app! It allows me to see how much money I will have spare at the end of the month and therefore I can plan how much I want to spend on entertainment and how much I want to save up. It allows repeated payments so after first month, once I put all bills and typical weekly spendings in, not much input is required to keep track of your balance. I also love that it doesn't connect to my bank account and it is just a simple calculation showed in a calendar view..Version: 4.2.6

I love this appShortly after I originally got Dollarbird, it switched to a paid model. I was hesitant to spend $40/year for a budgeting app (wasn’t it supposed to help me SAVE money, not COST money??), but I went for it. So, so worth it. I love how easy it is to use, and as someone who does a lot of freelance work, it’s great for helping me keep track of all my streams of income. I love that you can see the breakdown of spending and earnings and that it compares it to past months so you can start to see patterns in your spending. I cannot recommend Dollarbird highly enough!.Version: 4.1.3

Fantastic calendar based finance appDollarbird is such a great financial management and planning tool. While it doesn’t support budgeting directly, you can get around this by setting up different calendars per budget category you want to manage. For each budget calendar, you can deposit a dollar amount at the beginning of the month as income and then as you have transactions post to that calendar, it will show you how much is left in your budget. This is how I use it, and it does work pretty effectively. I still wish that the app had native budgeting built in which would even be better. Overall a really great app though!.Version: 5.0.2

The best financial tracker out thereI love supporting apps but the price is a bit steep for me to continue. It’s a bummer because their interface is the best I’ve seen and I’ve tried a LOT out there. If you’re able to afford the price and support them, please do! Maybe they’ll one day be supported enough to have the free version again :) for now I’m heartbroken to move on. I’ll have to use a janky excel sheet that will not even be close to relocating Dollarbird but I just wanted to thank you guys for the past few years..Version: 4.0.3

Best money management app, periodI love this app so much that I am actually writing a review for it! I’ve used it for years and years, and the projection feature has helped me avoid overcharge fees and plan my finances so much better. Some might not like that it doesn’t automatically sync, but I actually find that to be extremely helpful because I have to be cognizant of all the money that’s coming in and out..Version: 3.3.6

Almost PerfectDollarbird is my favorite app for budgeting forecasts and keeping track of my balances and expenses. It’s so easy to set up re-occurring payments and income, while also being easy to change. However, whenever you make one of these changes, you have to re-confirm every entry in a series, one at a time. This can be quite tedious if you’re playing around with values, making category adjustments, or altering a schedule of payments/income. Whenever you make a change to a series item, Dollarbird asks if you want to make the change to just that instance or the entire series. The one thing that it won’t let you do is confirm all entries. A great example of this is they just added some category symbols and diving into my categories made me realize that I need to breakout and combine certain categories for better representation of my spending. Well, for many of those items that I know will always happen, I now have to go through and confirm all future instances of them. I know this lack of feature is because “what if something changes,” but I’d rather have to make a one time change at a singular, random point in the future than have to confirm my transactions every single month or whenever I make a minute change. Being able to “confirm all” is the only feature I could possibly ask for from this app..Version: 4.0.2

What I’ve been looking for.I have never took the time to write a review about any application. I love that it’s not something that is automatically managing my bills. I love that it didn’t ask me to link all of my accounts for “live” updates that don’t ever seem to work. I love that I can budget everything. My major bills that just make the world go round, as well as meal plans and gas bills. At some point I don’t ever think I’ll need to look at my bank account again as long as I maintain this app I can maintain my financial future..Version: 3.1.1

Great appLove how simple to use this app is and how on top of my spending it allows me to be..Version: 3.1.2

Absolutely IndispensableThis app seriously improved my finance management. I use it religiously and don’t know how I’d get by without it. I love that it’s all manual. Other apps that link to bank accounts often misread transactions or place them in the wrong category, but with this app, absolutely everything is within your control, and it’s so customizable!.Version: 5.2.3

Perfect for Day to Day BudgetThis is the 2nd time I’ve used DollarBird and I will be sticking with it. We are in the midst of paying of bills and pretty much live day-to-day. This helps see how spending money today can affect your money in the future. Pros: - Really easy entry - handles recurring really well (allowing to apply one-off changes) - free version is extremely useful (pay to share with others or have more than one checkbook) Cons: - needs the ability to enter a “twice monthly” option (my husband gets paid the 15th and last day of the month) - a search function would be tremendous! I have to search day by day right now to see if I remembered to enter a bill Would be 5 stars if had search function. Love it otherwise!.Version: 3.3.6

I love this app, too bad it doesn't seem like it's progressingHonestly this is the only app I've found that works with the way my brain works - having the running balance of the month displayed on a calendar is great for us visual thinkers. Sadly, it feels like this app is being run by a skeleton crew - there are no updates or real improvements ever and on browser, I constantly get this annoying notification in the corner with news from like 2017. Ugh. And yet - no one else has this, so I'm sticking with it. Until some tech company comes along and buys it, I guess?.Version: 3.3.6
