✓ First Story/PayingI thought this app would be good because of the first story. But then it stopped, and said I could have a 1 week free trial to continue reading. I didn’t want to do that because what’s the point? So I tried to exit out of the story but I couldn’t find a way to. So I closed the app and opened it again. It went back to the same story and the ‘1 week free trial’ add popped up again over and over. I finally had enough of that so I came here to right this review. I’ll be deleting the app when I’m done. It would be good to install a way to close out of the story. (If that’s already there for the people who did the 1 week free trial and payed for it afterwords, I’m sorry for making this comment.) ✓ Wacko JackiIt said you get 7 days trial free. But then I used my debit card when the ‘pay to keep reading’ popped up half way through a story and it kept getting declined even though it had $6 on it. So even if I did have to pay the $2.99/week it said I only had to pay after a week (Nov 18) clearly it was tryna make me pay for the month or something. What the hell. ✓ Not only your fault.I was really enjoying the story until I found out I have to pay to read the rest of the story and all of the stories😡 who ever made this game must wasn’t planning on anyone keeping it because that’s what’s going to happen no one will want to keep it because they can’t enjoy it🙄. I read some of the comments and what I notice is that some people addressed the same issue I addressed but still gave a 5 ⭐️ rating. Your basically saying the game is perfect but still ur complaining which makes no sense. I don’t know if people know this but the more good ratings the higher the overall rate of the game and the higher the overall rate the more they get paid. So their never going to fix the problems because people still give good ratings and whoever made the game still gets paid well. ✓ I DO NOT WANT A FREE TRIAL!This game is so annoying I didn’t even get to finish my first story I got half way and it was constantly popping up with an add say sign up and start your free trial today. ✓ TerribleWants your money halfway through the first story and it’s £4.49 a WEEK which seems like nothing but it will auto renew it self with the money. I believe if they want you money make it a paid app because when you download the app you get into the story and you have to pay 😡 personally there are other ones out the like hooked which is a good one and you can even read the full story on snapchat whereas I found ReadIt on snapchat and downloaded it because they gave you half the story. ✓ ClassicGets you somewhat hooked, doesn’t allow you to view images without paying, then cuts the story and keeps asking you to pay. The only way to use the free version is literally replaying the first 5 minutes of the initial story. In terms of paid membership - £4.49 per week?? This is a phone app, and not a great quality one. Splashing out around £18 per month on it really isn’t a sensible decision, unless you really care that much for it. Also... ReadIt? Really? You’ve never heard of Reddit I assume?.Version: 3.9.22

✓ HORRIBLE APPLet me start off by saying, if I were able to give this app zero stars, I would. I absolutely hate when apps get you into it and get you excited about it, then cut you off right before the best part. I had started reading a story on this app, and at first I wasn’t too interested in it. Finally, I got to where I didn’t want to stop reading. When I finally got to where the best part was going to be, the app was like, “sorry, now you have to pay”. Basically, I downloaded the app to read half of a story, write a review on how crappy the app is, and then delete it. Also, I HATE how they put a notification a short ways into the story asking you to rate it. Now, most people would just pick 4 or 5 stars because they figure, “why not, this app seems pretty cool”, and then they get cut off and leave their rating high. I, on the other hand always wait to rate. I make sure there are no hidden schemes to take your money before I rate. This is why I rate this app one star and I hope people read this and change their mind about downloading this app. It is a waste of time and storage. You guys never say you will try to fix the problem almost every person is having... you just say you’re sorry blah blah blah, but never say we will try better next time. ✓ Not good supportSo I accidentally got the free trial and it took all my money automatically. I didn’t have any left and I had only had the trial and app for about 10 minutes. I did cancel my subscription because I didn’t want it and did email the company about this, yet all I got was a useless auto generated email. I read through the email hundreds of times, trying all the solutions but those weren’t solving my problem. I still don’t have my money back and think that I won’t be getting this app again. The stories were also all kind of similar in a way and way too predictable, making them a lot less fun to read and interesting. ✓ Terrible app, don’t install itSo me and my friend were gonna stay up til 3am reading scary text stories, so we went across the app store looking for different apps to buy. when we got to readit, we overall enjoyed reading it, but wanted to get out of the story to read a new one. but, of course, there was no exit button. so we decided to finish off the story, but once we’re halfway through it, you have to pay for a trial. and the trial isn’t exactly “free”, it hooks up to your bank account and takes money when the “free trial” is over. so we came back a few days later, and there’s still no way to get out or continue reading stories in the app. this was one of the worst experiences with an app. i’ve seen numerous people comment over a year ago because of the same reasons and you have done nothing to fix it. so, here i am, putting it out there that you need to fix this problem before you loose a lot of customers. and, i understand if you want them to pay, but maybe add a timer for like 5 minutes until they can read again so it’s not a drastic, ever-going wait. thank you for taking your time to read my review, have a nice day..Version: 3.10.46

As soon as I get into the app, however, I was placed in the middle of a story that I hadn’t chosen and with no way to exit. Then, part way into this story, there’s a pop up offering more for a weekly, monthly, or yearly payment. A free trial for 3 days was offered, so I thought, ok, well, maybe I should at least try it out and if it’s not worth the money I can cancel the trial. I read probably 7-8 of the stories, and decided immediately that I had wasted my time. Every story is extremely short, there’s so many plot holes in each story, some of them cut off and end abruptly, and many aspects of each story just didn’t make sense. There was even a story where a conversation is happening between two people, in real life, not over text, but the app keeps adding text messages as if they are talking over text. These two people are standing next to each other in the story and having an entire text message conversation instead of speaking face to face. Makes no sense. It’s lazy and uninspired writing. When I pressed on the notification and it said I still had a minute left until I could read, and it didn’t even tell me I had to wait in the first place. ✓ I wish i could give lowerThis app is not great , It starts you off with a story not of your choice but hey its like a Tutorial and its a good story and then you figure out that you have to have premium Just to have images leave the images and then at the end you have to get premium just to finish the story you didn't even choose and some people just want something to pass the time in the hospital waiting for doctors or something or jobless teenagers looking to pass time ,I think I would get it again if you at least gave a few free stories and then the rest are premium but not even one free story really? ✓ Scam27 reviews a by the same person. And there are other like that, every time a different rating, this proves they wrote their own reviews. You can’t go on unless you pay, but several of the repeat users, I call them, say you don’t. This is honestly a horrible app, if your looking into getting it, get yarn, ReadIt, one hooked instead, they don’t charge you. One of the repeat users said they hated all the others, but loved this, which is implausible, science there all the same, the only difference being that this one costs money. ✓ DO NOT DOWNLOADSo I downloaded it because it looked cool. Once it had downloaded I went on it. Its automatically loaded up a story so I was like ok like a taster thing. Then it came up with premium I said no. Then it came up with accept notifications and I said no but when I said no it kept asking me to get premium. So I went to settings and turned its notifications on and it’s stopped. Then it happened. I was pressing the it popped up with premium and wouldn’t let me go any further. ✓ No way I’m paying this muchThe only reason I bought this app is because this app crammed another app I had with its ads. When I got it, it seemed cool at first, but then I realized I could only read half of one story without paying and nothing else. There is NO WAY I am paying up to 40 bucks a month just to watch some millennials share their “experiences” with horror, and I don’t care if I get one week free, because I am not dedicating an entire week to solely watch whatever endless supply of this crap the app has before I have to pay. ✓ It’s okWhen I first got this app I thought it was pretty cool and when I got on it there was a story that I had to read before I read any other story’s after I finished reading the story I try to go to another story and it told me I had to buy it if I want to read it so I thought maybe it’s just certain stories that cost money but no that’s not the case every single story cost money so I deleted the app A few months past i for got about so I went on the app story and looked up scary texted story’s and this app was the first one that pops up so I downloaded it same story was on there when I got on it so I tried to skip it because I remember reading it so I tried doing a different story and it told me I had to pay for it but this time it cost more then it did before so I deleted it a year past by I got the app again I did the same story again tried to do a different story still cost money so I got off the app the next day I got back on it. ✓ Charged £8.99 a week without knowingMy son downloaded this app as he is in to his reading. It was free to download, which I checked and put my password in to authorise the download. Suddenly I realised in my bank account that I had been charged £8.99 per week for a period of 4 weeks, something I didn’t authorise. I’m assuming what has happened is that my son clicked on something to get the full story and wasn’t asked for a password to authorise any payment. Quite disappointed. Luckily I check my bank account regularly but not everyone does. This could have cost me a fortune. In app costs should be asked for an Apple ID password before going further..Version: 3.8.0

✓ Bad app don’t downloadAs soon as u download it takes u to a story so u play the story but it constantly is telling u to get the free trial. And it won’t let u play on without having the notifications on! U also can’t get out of the story that the game automatically pressed on and it won’t let u play on without getting the free trial!! ✓ Don’t Get This AppSo when I first entered the app it was pretty great because I was reading a story I enjoyed quite well but then as I continued to go along with the story, it asked me to turn on post notifications, which I didn’t want to do because then they end up spamming your phone, but they wouldn’t take no for an answer so I eventually gave in and turn them on but then it wouldn’t let me continue to read without paying for a monthly fee to keep on reading, they are trying to trick me into spending my money. I would recommend not getting the app because it’s a waste of your time, they get you hooked on a book and then they won’t let you continue until you pay..Version: 3.9.22
✓ ImprovementsWhat would make this app more enjoyable and worth paying for, is if downloaders could make these chat stories themselves through the app. Bring me an app like THAT and I’d pay monthly. Give people a chance to be creative and something to be excited about. Reading chats others made gets boring after a short amount of time. I got bored after one story. Let downloaders create and be critiqued on their stories based on likes and dislikes. I used to love creating my own stories on apps like HOOKED before it became something no one wanted.
