Reflectly - Journal & AI Diary for Negative User Reviews

Terrible app. way to expensiveNow although this concept is good, having a buddy to talk to you can only journal once before you have to pay. i can go out to the dollar store and make the same exact thing on paper, for like 2 dollars. waste of my time. do not reccomend.Version: 3.18.0

Please remove the word limitThe app is pretty good but I always have to shorten what i’m going to say since it only has 1250 word limit and sometimes i’m not able to put in everything that i want to say which is pretty sad. so hopefully you guys can maybe make the word limit higher or just not have one at all. other than that i really like how the app looks so chic and tumblr, it motivates me to use it more..Version: 2.2.12

Too expensiveThis app is cool, and I enjoy using the free version. I thought about trying the premium but it’s $40/year... not a one time deal, yearly!! Yikes, that’s a little much for this girl...Version: 2.6.6

TfThe fact that you have to pay for mental health is dumb.Version: 3.11.1

Spreads very negative messages to people suffering with their mental healthI downloaded this app a while ago and stopped using it because I didn’t want to pay for the premium service. However I didn’t uninstall it, and when the new iPhone widget update came I found out that Reflectly has a widget available which provides daily ‘inspirational’ quotes with pretty backgrounds, so I decided to use it for my new home screen design. I say ‘inspirational’ because I soon found out that these are anything but inspirational. Quotes such as “The heart was made to be broken” and “Realise that if a door closed, it’s because what was behind it wasn’t meant for you” started to appear on my home screen everyday, and I was really taken aback by them. These messages are far from positive. They promote victim blaming and general negative attitudes towards difficult situations which many of us go through, and it made me wonder if this was the kind of message an app which seeks to help those suffering with mental health issues wanted to promote. I really think this is something that should be looked into further by the developers..Version: 3.20.1

I am so freaking mad rn.This app is amazing and i’ve used it for quite a long time, which is why i’m so upset right now. i wouldn’t usually write a review like this, but i’m just hoping the creator will respond because this is quite upsetting. i’ve been using this app since just before quarantine. i’ve logged so many paragraphs of my feelings and it helped so much. i was able to look back and see all the terrible times i went thru because honestly i’ve never been so terrible in a period of time (quarantine). i wanted to look back and log my day in again today only to find the app completely changed and deleted all of my entries. all of those hard times, all of those 5 am breakdowns, gone. just gone. i don’t even like the update very much. they added the option to choose multiple emotions and stuff like that which was great, but the old layout made me more calm and i liked the aesthetic better. i’m just so upset that such important moments from the past 5 months just got deleted for no reason. it deleted my account as well and made me do the whole tutorial again. please, PLEASE tell me there’s a way to fix this. it’s very upsetting to me..Version: 3.4.0

Not workingI keep trying to purchase premium and although my card is being charged, the app keeps telling me the purchase wasn’t completed. It pops up saying I have a subscription but it won’t let me use the premium features 😞.Version: 2.8.12

UhhhhI did really like this app but then it updated and now it wants me to PAY 80$ what? I’m upset 😠 because I lost all my old Entry’s that I really liked having..Version: 3.14.0

Could Use More InclusivityWhen I first downloaded this app back in 2017, I really liked it because of the access to everything and the way I was able to express things without anything holding me back. Some apps similar to this require you have a subscription in order to access everything, and those always bothered me. Because I wasn't using this app as much as I could have, I deleted it and recently just re-downloaded because I felt as though I needed it more than ever. I was very bothered to find that a lot of the features that were free back when I had it two years ago are no longer available unless I have a subscription. This means I can't express my own emotions in a manner that I should be because the app wants me to pay 40$ a year in order for me to do so. As a student in university, I need something like this to help me sort through my depression and anxiety, and I don't have the money to pay yearly for a subscription to an app that I used to love. I believe that if some of the subscription services were taken away, such as the stats for my mood and the unlimited space for journal entries, this could be better, but the fact that the subscription takes nearly everything away from the user is something that I strongly dislike..Version: 2.6.7

It’s okThis app makes your reflect a descent amount on your day, takes about 1 minute. This might help with people who feel sad, stressed, or down most of the time. It shows your stats and more. But the dumb thing about this app is of u want more u gotta pay for it. I’m not sure if it’s worth your money because I didn’t pay for the add on. there is no way I’m wasting money for a monthly membership for a app. Therefore I believe this app deserves 2/5 stars.Version: 2.8.12

SucksYou have to pay money! I just want an app that wants to help me for once..Version: 3.19.0

I was so wrong“This app has helped me so much and I’ve just been 1000000x happier. I haven’t even bought the premium version yet! Who knows how great things could get when I do?!”... was what I said before It stopped letting me use the app any more. This is not the app I thought it would be. I’m so disappointed..Version: 3.19.0

App changed after purchaseI got the Reflectly app because I enjoyed the promoted reflections and daily challenge functionality. It also prompted itself as an app with customer support and engagement. Despite this the promoted reflections and daily challenges stopped and I did not receive any response as to why. Leaving only the option for mood check ins. I wish I could get a refund..Version: 4.6.4

Free version should have more optionsFirstly, the free version should at least allow you to have a passcode as the journal is private and i don’t want anyone to see it if they accidentally find the app on my phone. secondly, there should be more questions that can be answered for each day. lastly, i think that the app should have a small list of some things that you could do to make yourself feel better if you were having a bad day or something (eg if i was sad then what could i do to cheer myself up a bit) other than those few thoughts i think the app is really good and if you did add those things in that i mentioned then i recon i’d rate the app 5 stars. thanks,,.Version: 2.6.10

Kinda Disappointed(I’m not sure if this problem will stop after the offer is taken down but either way, it’s annoying and frustrating) Reflectly is a pretty good app but after I wrote a couple mood check in’s, I couldn’t right anymore. When I tried to write another, it kept popping up with the 66% of Premium offer and I couldn’t right anymore mood check in’s. It’s REALLY annoying when you download an app that actually helps but you can’t use it anymore after a couple check in’s. Some people can’t pay for it, like me, and I actually love using the app but it’s frustrating that I can’t use something that can help me after a couple uses. I can’t use it anymore unless I pay for premium but I can’t do that and I don’t get why an app made to help you, doesn’t help you after a couple tries. I get that you do need to make money off of it but making the user unable to use the app for its intentions after a couple uses isn’t the best idea in my opinion. It’s kinda sad that I can’t use it anymore because the app is great. I don’t have anyone to express my emotions too so letting it all out to this app is great but now I’m mad that I can’t use it anymore. (I did 5 mood check in’s then when I tried to right a 6th one, that’s when the offer starting popping up).Version: 3.19.0

The Update Ruined ItI’ve used this app every day since the start of the year, and I loved it. It was a quick place for me to put my feelings down. I loved that it wasn’t about journaling everything that happened, more for mindfulness and tracking mental health, something which the other journaling apps lack. The new update has moved some of the personalisation features behind a pay wall, for no good reason that I can see, and made it harder to put a complete summary of your day down in one place. I don’t want to add everything individually as ‘moments’. I want to sit down and get my feelings off my chest. I’m going to be looking for a replacement, and after doing this for over 140 days, I feel betrayed. I didn’t know I would feel this upset about not being able to journal how I want to journal, and I begrudge paying to get the features back that I was used to having for free. I wish I could go back to the older version..Version: 3.0.3

Good so far, a few small problems:I’ve been using reflectly for a couple of days now and i’ve been enjoying it a lot. just a couple things: i tried writing my entries in another language and maybe this affects the character count, but according to the counter, i was still under the 1250 character limit. i tried saving my story but it kept coming up with error messages, and in the end i had to delete the entire post and start again because the saving menu wouldn’t go back to the editing stage. the only button i could press was the delete story button. i copied+pasted my new story onto my notes so that it wouldn’t get lost again, but the same error message occurred. i decided to try posting it into separate parts so that i could at least have the entire entry on the app, but it didn’t let me add another entry on the same day. is it possible that you could develop a character counter that counts for all languages or even work towards having more language settings? otherwise, loving it so far. cute and aesthetic to look at. makes me want to write in it, but i can’t record all my thoughts for the entire day if it won’t let me save!!.Version: 2.4.5

Needs moreI just downloaded this app, and while it has a beautiful layout, there are times where it has its short comings. Firstly, there needs more be more versatility with things like activities and moods, because each day there are more things that affect you and just one entry is a little nerve wracking. Second, I have a premium account right off the bat (plus the trial) but what struck me as odd is that I have to PAY to document my emotions or daily events on this app—when in reality I feel like I’m only paying for it’s beautiful layout. Third, you can’t copy and paste or cut anything into your entry sections when you write. A gigantic error page pops up and that’s very frustrating and disappointing considering you’re paying for the app to function like any other maybe even better than others. This has so much potential but missing features like a monthly tracker to document your moods, multiple emotion options/activities to choose from when doing entries and trackers that monitor how often you feel a mood or how often you do an activity is really depressing. It needs more and that’s what I was expecting considering some people might actually pay nearly 45 a year to keep it running..Version: 2.3.3

Error while saving...I receive an error while saving rather frequently. I’d say at least once a week. When that happens, there is no way to recover. I have to manually go thru the story and copy my entry so that I won’t lose it... not to mention, text selection is garbage so trying to get the “Select All” text hover button to appear is hit or miss. Why is there no way to “Save as Draft” or some other method of error reporting? What is the error? Also, why is an internet connection required for journal entry? I understand backups of the entries require internet, but why does actually creating a new journal entry require internet? Overall, I regret spending a yearly membership on this app. I have removed my subscription. Will continue to use for the remainder of my subscription, but then will switch apps completely unless things change. Fantastic concept, love the prompts. Minor tweaks like being able to select multiple icons when choosing what made the day good or bad would be nice (although you can select multiple if you edit the story, weird workaround) and adding multiple pictures would be nice. I really do like the concept, this is the journaling app I’ve been looking for. Unfortunately, it’s just very buggy and requires internet for no good reason..Version: 2.8.15

BadWhy would someone have to pay $80 a year for a AI comforter. So stupid.Version: 3.14.0

Pretty upsettingJust opened the app to find I had been logged out, and all my stories erased. Pretty upset as I was using Reflectly as a place to look back at these stories and add more. I’m saddened to think my written thoughts surrounding so many memories have all been deleted, and all the information I had gotten through the app by adding them is gone as well. Overall extremely hacked off, I was really enjoying this app before but won’t be using again. I will try out something more reliable..Version: 2.2.1

Unlawful chargesI used the app on the free trial period for a day or 2 and quickly realised that it was not for me, I then cancelled the subscription and deleted my account with Reflectly however was charged an annual subscription fee of $60. I contacted Reflectly through Facebook messenger only to be told to make an account with Reflectly again and receive only 50% refund.. I couldn’t make sense of this as I did not want to use the app in the first place and they had unlawfully taken my money but instead of an apology and refund I was being then being ignored on messenger and no 50% refund was received. I contacted apple support and within hours I received an email to advise I would receive a full refund. I’ve seen many others comment on Facebook with the same issue so please contact Apple support for help as Reflectly won’t help you! Thanks Apple!.Version: 2.4.5

To pay the priceThis app is so useful! I love it it can help you stay calm and can help you with your bad days. This is much better than a journal because it’s online you don’t have to buy supplies like pens pencils sticker if you want and a notebook and with a regular journal you have to worry about a marker bleeding and the quality of the paper, or even misspelling words and over all the mistakes you can make. I personal love all the aesthetics of a journal. I mean all the pretty colors, the cute stickers, and just the whole concept. This app doesn’t have that but still gives me the satisfaction of a journal! But the ONE problem for me is the price you pay 20 bucks a month about 100 bucks a year and 200 buck for when ever you use it. Now to me that’s pretty expensive. And when kids or teens like me grow up we might not have interest in stuff like this or we might be to busy and I’ll basically end up wasting 200 or 100 bucks on it. So you can still use the app but I’m just saying if you want a journal I’d rather recommend just making one yourself because the price is just too high. If they take away the price that would be the best thing ever so. Yeah Thank you for reading.Version: 3.8.0

Used to love this appI used to use the free version and i loved it! I’ve tried others but I haven’t really enjoyed journaling and actually kept up with it until this app but now that they made the limit 500 instead of 1200, I find it pointless unless you buy it & I’m not spending $40 a year to journal. It should be a flat rate cost but a yearly subscription to journal is not good with me. Would have paid for the full app if it was a one time fee. Sad because I did love it but now I’ll be looking for something else..Version: 2.6.6

I want my money backHow can you get your money back? Definitely not worth the money charged..Version: 3.19.0

Subsribed for a yearI got this app back in July 2019. I got the subcription and I have never regretted it. But this update has changed my mind. The new update’s biggest downside: we cannot fill out entries on a previous day if we didn’t have time to journal on said day. Also, the new look is just awful, scrolling down and all without the pictures is just ugh. I appreciate the new moods and activities for sure. But unless this update is fixed soon, I will not renew my subscription and will move onto physical journaling or any other less exepensive alternative that gives me more freedom in time. I was diagnosed with BPD, major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. Thank you for helping me, everyone on the team, but let us help you guys back: reverse this update..Version: 3.0.3

Makes u payIt wouldn’t let me write a journal it said I have to pay for it so the app is useless.Version: 3.18.0

UghIt won’t let me write a reflection without buying premium.Version: 3.18.0

Reflect appThis is a decent app but it has limitations when you decide to elaborate about why you felt that way during your day. But it is good to be able to release some of those feelings because you can save how your feeling on that day and look back on it, it’s kind of like a dairy/journal..Version: 2.7.6

Not that greatI downloaded the free app in the hope that it will better sustain my mental health, and I found it quite cool to start with, entering different journal entries and thinking about how I am feeling. But after a couple of days, the app wouldn’t let me keep putting in entries unless I payed for the subscription (and I just wasn’t ready to invest in an app that I had barely gotten to know). So unless your prepared to pay $$$ I think you should just stick with talking to your friends..Version: 3.19.0

Closing downThe furthest I got on Reflectly was writing my first day, then it would close the app. Sometimes it happened before that. I’ve tried to do it many times and uninstalled it then reinstalled it too. It just keeps closing, I’ve even cleared some space on my phone to see if it’s function better if I deleted a few apps, I’ve deleted five and it still closes down. I’ve closed open apps on my phone if it was slowing my phone down. Same outcome. From what I hear about the app it’s really good and even the first story I enjoyed. But I’ve have to fill in my name and the preferable colour multiple times because it always closes down before I can make an account. Please fix this problem immediately or let me know if I have to do anything to stop it from shutting down. :).Version: 2.6.7

EhhIt’s a good idea but apparently you have to pay for self love, and it shuts down and kicks me out every time I open a text box. Please fix that and I’ll give it a better rating..Version: 3.13.0

Good app - bit glitchyI've got quite into this app and have enjoyed reflecting on my days as it is not something I often do - however recently I have noticed some frustrating glitches. Sometimes just as I am about to submit a reflection, the application closes altogether. It is annoying having to type it all out again..Version: 2.2.12

A couple recommendationsA good way to record my feelings and notice patterns! A couple concerns though. The app hasn’t been as useful since it was updated in April-May time when a bunch of features that were once free needed to be paid for. I understand that you guys need to make money off this app but I feel that the subscription price is too expensive. It’s also been kind of annoying lately when you’ve had about 5-6 consecutive sales on, all ‘ending soon’ but another one starts straight after. I would suggest either permanently bringing down the price or keeping sales few and far between. A great app minus a couple minor details though! UPDATE- Had to move my rating to one star. Just been on the app and I can’t even record things in my journal for free anymore! It has me wondering what I actually can do for free with this app. Pretty sad watching it become increasingly expensive over the years. Really disappointed, I’ve been rather understanding with this but now I can’t even do the one thing I use the app for!.Version: 3.18.0

I fr rate this app, butttt...I only just downloaded but i instantly love this app. I didn’t have the greatest day but this app encourages you to write about your day by debriefing and makes each day into a “story” like a little episode thing and each day is saved into a little folder thing. Debriefing about my day by writing about it and adding in photos, which you can also do, really made me feel better and helped cleared my head. I’m currently only using the free version and I still rate it, the premium does look good though. But there are problems. I can’t delete photos I’ve uploaded which is really annoying especially if I accidentally upload a photo I didn’t mean too, and my free trial wont work at all? Like it says I’m subscribed but then it says there’s a problem “try again” and no matter how many times I try again it doesn’t work...even when I uninstalled the app :((( please help aha..Version: 2.6.7

Only download if you’re willing to payI struggle with mental health, so was looking for an app to track my moods with in more depth where I could leave journal entries and what not to see what was helping me. I really enjoyed it for the two days I’ve been able to use it for, but once I’d reached 3 journal enrties, it said that I have to pay to continue to use the app’s services. It does shows that there is the option to upgrade as soon as you get the app and it does appear as if you can use it without paying, but after I’d made a few entries, it said I had to pay to make any more entries. This really isn’t helpful, as I need an app like this, but I couldn’t pay for the subscription. I dont really agree with having to pay for apps that will help people with mental health, because it’s such a huge problem, especially with teens and young people who most often don’t have the money to pay for things that’ll help them, and I didn’t like how it seemed like you could use it for free and how there was nothing to say that after the couple of entries, you’d have to pay. So I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone unless they had the money and were willing to pay..Version: 3.20.0

Great App with Some DownsidesThis is a quality app with great potential and is awesome for those who need some reflection and help with positivity. However i just wish that you could do more without getting Reflectly Premium. Loading was a little bit slow getting into the app and getting started but that’s just me being nit-picky. I think for those who really need it, go ahead and cop Premium but for the average user, i’m just not sure if it’s the best investment. It’s still a lovely app and the general idea is great but with a little bit more to offer to those who don’t use it every day and simply use the free version. I did the free trial of Premium and it was worth it, i just canceled after the 6th day so that it didn’t charge me for the rest of the year. I just hoped there would be an option to get a 7 day free trial separately from the package but i’m sure there’s a good reason behind it. Overall, 6-7 out of ten, good app with general practicality. I hope you found me comprehensive review useful for your own personal judgement..Version: 2.6.7

I take it backIt costs way too much money just to see the stats and add a lock, you need to lower the price by at least $15.Version: 2.6.7

Paid subscription but can’t use appI paid for the app where it says premium but it won’t let me unlock anything. Frustrating..Version: 3.1.0

ExpensiveFun but expensive. Wouldn't pay more than $5 per year for sure Actually I think I will build the app like this and offer it for free....Version: 2.8.12

Eh new update...I’m very confused, does the new update mean us free users can no longer write a daily reflection and get asked a new question everyday such as “what makes you happy” at the end? Don’t get me wrong, this app is great for reflecting on each day but if I’m being honest, I prefer the old version. I may just be using it wrong but it seems like “free” users are getting less now? The benefits we previously got were the reasons why I loved the app so much :(.Version: 3.0.3

Relentless promotion of premiumHave been using Reflectly for over a year now but unfortunately I cannot make any entries without being hounded about paying for premium. It popped up around the new year and I haven’t been able to use the app since. The promotion does not go away when I decline the offer and now the app is totally useless. I used to love using reflectly but now I can’t do anything without paying. The offer “ends in x hours” but the timer counting this down continues to increase. Please fix this, I’d love to get back to using this app, even if the features are limited when using without premium - as they were before this unending promotion..Version: 3.20.0

I'm very confused with this updateI really cannot understand how this update works, it's so much more complicated than it was before. I'd really appreciate it if you could revert to the old version, i liked it so much better. I use this app daily, and sometimes i forget a day to write a journal for it. with the old update i was able to choose which day i wanted to write a journal, now i can't figure out how to do this and i'm not happy. and now that its format is different, i don't know if i'll be continuing to use this app..Version: 3.0.2

I think we deserve this to be freeWe have kids and teens that don’t have the money and are not comfortable talking or share This app with their parent therefore I think it should be FREE FREE FREE.Version: 2.8.19

Great concept but not accessibleI really love this concept of a friendly AI to keep track of mental health. However, the app is difficult to access while completely blind, as I am. My blindness has contributed to some mental health issues which Reflectly has the potential to help me through, but in order to do this the app should be made more accessible, with fewer excess images and clearly labelled buttons..Version: 4.6.6

Why do i need to pay now?I’ve been using this app for almost a year now. But as of today I can’t do anything unless I pay. Which is super frustrating because I use this as my wind down at night. I am very frustrated..Version: 3.18.0

Subscription modelDoes the subscription model of “subscribe now for a free week” really work better than any alternative model? There are a number of lifestyle apps that all seem to use this model, which puts getting your credit card number in front of letting you try a trial of the app. Is it effective simply because the audience is more likely to be desperate?.Version: 2.8.12

ReflectlyI thought this would be a good app then it said you have to pay and i was thinking I'm not going to pay to express my feelings. If you didn’t have to pay it would be an amazing app!.Version: 3.16.1

Too expensiveI don’t mind paying some money as I believe they need to make money too. It’s just way too expensive . I downloaded the app and never got to try it. As it’s only free for 7 days. Nice thought though..Version: 2.8.12

I hate the new updateI really hate the new update sometimes I would forget to journal so I would just select the date and move on you can’t even do that now and the layout of the new update it’s so unflattering I hate it.Version: 3.0.3

Not greatI was trying to do a journal entry today and it wouldn’t let me unless I bought premium but I can’t afford it even with their 75% off deal thing. It makes me a little bit angry. I would like if they changed that because I really have no interest in paying a bunch of money annually for this app. It’s a great app yes but it’s a bad experience for me. I would try and do a mood check in but it kept saying “hmm here let me help you get the best experience” or something like that and I’d click the only button it would let me and then it said I have to pay. It’s a great app when it actually lets you journal though..Version: 3.19.0

Did not refund me a bugged subscription; Poor support; This is disgusting customer service. This app offered me a $1.49 sub as a trial which I decided to take. When I was charged for it, it came to 12.99! I tried multiple times to contact the creators with only one half-assed response . They said to try “Restore Purchases” which did not work, and then he ghosted me next! Clean up your act, and I still want my money back. Would never trust Reflectly with a purchase again..Version: 2.8.10

GreedySo I have to pay per year to use this? That’s ridiculous. I don’t think you should be charging people anything at all - I’m so sick of people saying that want to help others with their mental health, but then you charge an insane amount of money. Whatever happened to just wanting to help people - without charging money? Very greedy, especially for that price. No thank you - it’s completely out of my price range. But you totally want to help people, right? NOT..Version: 2.8.11

You have to pay to do anything.I’ve had this app since i believe January of last year, and i started heavily using it during lockdown for covid and it helped me manage my thoughts and feelings and it became easier to progressively work through them. I was most of all enjoying the morning motivation, and for the end of the day check-in, it would ask a question of the day which was my absolute favorite part. However, in this most recent update, I’m unable to do either of these things without paying for a subscription. The only thing i can do for free is look at past entries and view the quotes page. What I don’t understand is if the purpose of the app is to journal, why do i have to pay to do it? And so suddenly too? It’s like a music streaming app offering music you can listen to for free and after your 3rd song, they make you shell out some cash if you want to keep listening to music. I wish they would consider going back to the original format, im sure most people would pay for the premium subscription, and then people who are satisfied with the free version can continue to use the app. It’s disappointing because I was really enjoying this app and how it was helping me and now i’m forced to find something else that’s suitable for me mentally and financially..Version: 3.20.0

OverpricedInsanely overpriced, if they really care about mental health they would make it cheaper, or free with potential in app purchase options..Version: 2.8.12

New update 👎🏻The older version looked and functioned better. Turned basic features into premium features in the new update and you can’t choose a specific day anymore, instead it time stamps the entry..Version: 3.0.3

Hate the new update! Love the appI LOVE reflectly I used to use it everyday and it’s really helped me mentally but this new update has deleted every single one of my journal entries of the year 2020!!!!! I love to look back on my memories and now that I can’t I’m angry and upset because these were special notes for me. Please help me get them back (I’ve contacted the support team) and please change the update it was perfect before but now everything is to open and scattered and doesn’t go day by day. I hate to be harsh to this app because it used to be my bible is what I tell my friends all the time but now I can’t stand it and am seriously considering just going to a hard copy journal if this is going to happen!.Version: 3.0.3

Not good....I got the app because it looked good and like something I would enjoy. I did the first part like typing in my name turning on notifacations and the colour. Then I added my first story. I really liked it and I said my day was good and stuff, one of the problems was that it had a word limit so I couldn’t write what I wanted to say. Once I finished the story it said that I had to pay for it which I didn’t want to do..Version: 2.7.8

Clunky audio glitchesI am really enjoying the overall concept of this app, I have never been one to journal so I think this will allow me to have a good shot and accurately writing and reflecting on my day. However, I am 6 days in to using the app and I have noticed a few glitches around the audio reflections. I am testing the free mode however still everyday after I write a reflection it sends my to an audio player for my daily reflection that doesn’t play anything but still gives time stamps, and then when you exit it says it has saved it to your library. Considering you can’t access audio reflections on free all of this is fine it just feels a little clunky in use. I think there is an opportunity to show a little sound bite of content to draw people in to wanting to go premium. I also believe the price structure is insane for what your offering, that thought might change if I knew what level of audio reflection content I would be unlocking. All in all very pleased with this app so far and excited to see where it goes..Version: 2.2.3

I want my $54 back. Horrible customer service. This app requires you sign up for a free seven day trial. I did so, however I was unsatisfied and no longer was interested in the app. There is absolutely no mention of how to cancel your membership or even updating your pay information. Though I eventually found out how to delete my account, this app still charged me $54 once the 7 days were up. I immediately emailed the customer service and never received a response. Might be a good concept but it’s not well run. Disappointed & angry..Version: 2.5.5

Brand new and loving itI just completed my first story, and it felt good to have something to write my feelings down in with major convenience. You don’t have to write anything (but you have the option to), it asks you to rate you day, what made you’re day that way, and how you felt throughout the day (you just press which one you feel, there plate options for this part, no typing required) There are also achievements that you can earn as time goes on. *update* I’ve been using the app for a while now, and I was really enjoying it, but today when I went into the app it said I had to login, which I’ve never had to do before. I don’t think it ever made me set my email to it or make an account, because I tried the password recovery multiple times and it just said that something went wrong. So now I can’t access any of my previous stories, which I’m very upset about because the main reason I got this app was so that I could go back and read them in the future, and it was more convenient to use than pen and paper. I guess I’ll be sticking to using paper from now on because all of my time just got wasted with this app. I would recommend this app because it has a good layout and it is more convenient than keeping a hand written journal, but for me personally it is not worth the risk of losing it all because the app all of a sudden needs you to “sign in”..Version: 3.0.3

Great app but too many issues for the priceI’ve been using this app for about 6 months now and have been really enjoying it! It’s a great last step in my day. But from the start there’s been a few bugs and glitches which I’ve been dealing with but now I’m really having issues because I cannot actually write any stories! I open the app and it is like it doesn’t register that I’m already signed up for premium and my streak (which was at over 180) is gone! I tap to add to today’s story and it loads, but when I tap “let’s do it” nothing happens. I end up having to close and re open the app several times before it works. And then everything is all good again! My streaks are back and all my previous stories are loaded. This happens every now and again but when it does happen it’s super annoying! Especially when I’m trying to wind down and end my day..Version: 2.8.18

Deleted my emotionsI added a bunch and half were deleted. Idk how many I’m limited to or if they count “archived” ones. you can only archive stuff, not delete or edit it, so a lot of the archived emotions are duplicates I may have decided I wanted a different icon for. Even if I try to add an emotion to an entry now to try and anchor it to that entry so it doesn’t get deleted, it’ll just disappear from said entry. So at this point all my entries are wrong. I tried to contact support with no response. I ended up deleting my account and starting another, only putting in emotions I’ve used before in my other app instead of all of them because there’s no room. I never got a response from support. Another thing to add since telling support won’t do anything; there’s a bug which sometimes makes it so if you’re editing a previous entries’ time it won’t change pm to am. I put the entry in at like 12:30am but it says pm. I tried to change it so many times but it won’t change. Just silliness. It’s only happened once so… idk. I like the app but it needs some bug fixes and serious revamping of the added emotions/activities system. I’m only trying it out because they gave me a year of the growth bundle for free since I bought the lifetime of done and do. Besides those, this is the only app in the growth bundle I actually use and it’s like… okay. Needs work. Probably will only keep it after the year if I can buy a lifetime..Version: 4.8.2

Waste of money, very disappointedI’m someone who knows the benefits of journaling and likes to journal so I thought that the app would be great! I read the reviews, 4.4/5 with 12,966 ratings! ‘Great’ I thought! ‘This will be awesome!’ WRONG. I thought it would prompt really great questions based on your answers, but the questions are very standard. You can do the same thing yourself for free on the notes app on your phone using a feeling wheel (google it) and the W questions: What, Where, Why, When and How. To give credit where credit is due, the two good things it has going for it are that: 1. It’s aesthetically pleasing (although pretty useless and a waste of money), 2. The tracker is useful, but it’s not supposed to be a tacker it’s supposed to be a journalling app. The only reason I gave it 2 stars and not 1 is because it’s making an effort and an attempt at helping mental wellness, but at the price, you’re better just using that money to see a therapist! You can find a tracker for moods for much cheaper if not for free. I think that it’s rather scummy to not offer a free trial, but I guess they know it’s because the app is basic and that you won’t subscribe after the free trial. If you’re unsure, just get a month subscription, don’t do what I did and get scammed out of a year subscription’s worth of money thinking it will be great, because it’s not. I hope that this is helpful to someone..Version: 3.3.0

1 starIt shouldn’t cost money to journal. Especially not in membership form. Make it a one time purchase at least..Version: 2.8.4

Cancel SubscriptionI dont know how to cancel my subscription, it's not written anywhere.Version: 2.8.12

1/5The new update made it so I can’t use the app anymore, it won’t let me do a mood check in without getting premium of whatever it is, and I can’t afford that..Version: 3.18.0

You have to payWhen I saw this ad I immediately downloaded it cause I have anxiety and depression, the first thing that shows is that you have to sign which I did but then when I wanted to rate my day and stuff it said the 7 days free trial and I thought it was gonna be free but NOPE you have to pay and in my opinion it’s kinda expensive, keep in mind that this was just my opinion on the other hand it’s a great app even though I never got the chance to start my day good..Version: 2.6.6

VERY heavy handed pushing the premium versionI’ve downloaded this and put in a few entries and it looks like it could be really good, but its basically unusable without signing up for a premium trial! If I get into writing a post and hit the word count limit for basic version it throws up a message saying to sign up for premium to get unlimited words. All fine and well, you need subscribers and it’s fair to provide them with a superior product. BUT! There’s no “no thanks” button and no X on many of these pop ups. That means the only way to avoid handing over my payment details is to hard close the app and lose everything I’ve written. I’m encountering these pop ups time and time again making what is otherwise a fantastic product incredibly frustrating to use. If it were easier to say no thanks I’d likely use the free version for a month or so then buy it if it continues to work well for me. As it is I think I’m just going to give up!.Version: 2.6.7

Love it but some things are bad.Ok so I really love this app, it’s really nice and aesthetic. It’s so fun to write your whole day down. What your mood was, the things you did today, and then you can look back at all those stories. Which is a lot of fun and very relaxing. I do have a couple of problems though. So I was browsing and I accidentally hit the log out button. Obviously you can log back in, but when I logged back on everything was gone. I was literally going to cry. The whole thing was gone, it said I had no stories or streaks or anything. I was able to download my data and get it sent to my email, but I then had to rewrite everything. Which I was willing to do. I started writing one then went to bed. I woke up and looked at it and it was still gone. The poof it’s all back, I don’t know how but it was all back there. Ok my next problem. I do love Reflectly but to only be able to do one thing in not premium is annoying. So basically you have to enter 7 stories and you unlock your status. Then I’m going to look at my status and it says you have to have premium. I will pay for premium but I don’t want to, I’m going to save up my money. I read this in one review and I thought it was a good idea. You could complete like a certain amount of stories to unlock let’s say status. Actually unlock it though, be able to look at it and everything. So personally if this was my game I would do this. Thank you..Version: 2.8.18

Negative Option BillingReflectly makes no mention that the app costs $62 a year after the first week, until you’ve already downloaded it. They provide only vague details on how to stop this charge from happening; googling the solution and performing the labyrinthine task took over half an hour. This is tantamount to a little something called “Negative Option Billing”, which is not only a garbage dishonest way of doing business, it is widely illegal. Reflectly doesn’t deserve a dollar, let alone 62..Version: 2.8.12

ZERODon’t Waste time or money. You cant even add any other categories. On weekly report it comes up as “57% OTHER” who is that helping. ZERO Stars DO NOT WAST TIME THIS APP COSTS THEN NETFLIX!!! Weekly Report 100% Rip Off!!!.Version: 2.8.12

Lovely app! But... (suggestion)I love this app and has been using it for the past months! Its a nice way to jot down any thoughts or feelings into! But I will say I hate the new format since its last update or two. If you’ve never used the app then I’m sure this won’t be too much of an issue and feel free to download it if you like! But as someone who got used to and grew a liking to the older format I just wish there was an option like a switch or something that lets you switch between which format you want (the one that scrolls up and down, AKA current format, or the one that scrolls left to right) the main reason I wish for the old format is I just miss having a photo as a cover image along with the title on it, then having you tap on it to open your summary and such. With the new formatting there isn’t really a need for a cover image. I liked using cover images to sum up what I did that day like a photo of something I got at the store or somewhere I went that day etc. Aside from a cover image, I do think it takes a bit longer to scroll down and find past entries opposed to scrolling right and left. Aside from the complaints, overall reflectly is a wonderful app and I highly recommend it!.Version: 3.16.1

Great but..I got this app because I needed something like a diary to write down day’s reviews. First, I’m just gonna say how amazing this app is, it gives you advice too, like a famous positive quote or something. three star for that there. Reason why I didn’t put last two is because when I tried to write my 6th day (today) it didn’t let me and it says something I needed to update my account (which was optional at first) so I clicked ok or smth and it say I hv to PAY to continue And it didn’t let me do anything anymore, so I just deleted the app and here I am now. It was really disappointing since I’m having rough days and this app have supported me, and when they randomly post positive quotes (Ik it sounds wired but) I thought this app cared for me. But then they ask me to pay so-. I guess not. Like I said, I am really disappointed about it so I thought about giving 2 stars but all the structure of app is great so it’s 3. Sorry for making this long and thankyou if you read it all!.Version: 3.18.0

Good app! but..I loved the app before the update. i really like the new journal/writing (where u write) format, but i really liked the menu before the update where u could add pictures on the thumbnail of ur journal entry. it was really cool seeing the pretty pictures i put as i went through my entries. also its pretty overpriced for what its giving..Version: 3.0.3

Great but premium is so expensive.Ok, so I’m 11 and obviously I don’t have a lot of money. I’ve been writing to this app everyday for about a week now and I can unlock my stats. However, you need to buy the premium version to do this. It a £9,99 a month I can’t remember how much it was for a year but for lifetime it’s was £300. That’s just an insane amount of money to be spending on an app that tbh I probably will forget about in a few weeks/months. It’s just insane and I don’t think you should even be able to spend that much money on an app at once it’s insane and very unreasonable. I ain’t paying £300 to ‘make my day 38% happier’. I don’t see how an app can do this to make you 38% happier. It’s a scam really only billionaires would spend this much on an app. £300 is my entire life’s savings and I don’t even spend much as I don’t get any pocket money. I will still use it occasionally however if I’m not spending ridiculous amounts of money on it. Sorry for the long review..Version: 3.4.0

It helped, but it always advertised me with the premiumI really like it, I also used it a year ago due I had bad depression, and then I got it again 3 days ago. But after the 2 days I got it, it didn’t allow me to do anything because it said "You will get 66% off with Premium!". So, that stopped me from using it. I would love to use it again if the advertisement was not that bad. I also, got less activities and things on it because I didn’t have premium. I find it a bit silly having it if I can’t really do anything besides checking in. I don’t want to do that, I want to do other things on it, with out paying. So this is my review.Version: 3.20.1

New updateI used this app everyday to write down my thoughts before it was updated. i hate the update and it stopped asking daily questions. there is also no option to choose a title or the date so i can not fill in the days i have missed..Version: 3.0.3

I used to love this appI used to really love this app, it was really helpful to me as a place to jot down fun events and track my mood. I kinda stopped using it for a bit but decided to really get back into it and every time I try to use something I seemingly have to pay for it now. I know it’s not unusual to pay for certain features or a premium option on an app because how else do they make money? But it just seems like every single feature has to have a paid subscription now. Great app, used to really love it but just a shame it has to have a paid subscription now. If you can afford a subscription though then definitely go for it!.Version: 3.19.0

Fantastic app disappointing price tag! This app gives you the opportunity to express how your feeling and how your day has been it gives you the chance to really sit back and reflect on your day for me personally it has given me the opportunity to see how well I have been coping and where I need to make improvements for me to be happy and improve my mental health I don’t feel confident and don’t like discussing my feeling with others but this app helps me get my thoughts down and somewhat eases things for me without that pressure of having to speak to someone ASAP I don’t necessarily have to wait weeks for an appointments to get it all of my chest because I know at the end of my day I can write about it it asks you questions at the end of the diary entry that help you to look at things at a different angle to reconsider and reflect on other things that are happening in your life that you May not of thought about or really considered before the only disappointing thing about it is to open your stats the price tag is a bit to much and it just seems like a way of taking advantage of people that do have mental health problems, the lonely, the people that do just need to get things off there chest sometimes or just wasn’t help remembering.Version: 2.8.18

It was great until the update...So I have been using REFLECTLY for almost 40 days now, it has helped me so so much during the Quarantine. I loved the happy notifications, the thought provoking questions, and the pictures it would give me for each of my journals. When I would be having a bad day, I loved writing about it, and being given a picture of an adorable puppy, or a rainy window with a heart on it. I always smiled by the time I was done using reflectly. I still have my journals, but now all the happy pictures are gone? Sure if I attached any images those are still there, but I don’t get the ones that Reflectly gave me. It makes me really sad and the app just looks bland now. It’s kinda annoying having to sign in every time I want to open the app too. Like I get it for privacy reasons, it just seems silly when it’s on my phone. I miss how the reflectly used to be laid out and I am kindly asking maybe try to come to a compromise? I loved it until it updated, if it’s about like scrolling through perhaps just add like a scroll bar at the bottom underneath your journals how it was laid out to help for easy navigation. It’s just a thought and I know I’m not the only one that dislikes the update, I’m just putting it in kinder words..Version: 3.0.2
