Spend so much money on it especially today, I am in the crater with items I have received from the money I spent, it literally SPAWNS, yes they appeared out of nowhere, THREE toxic spitters in front of me and the stupid game wouldn’t let me move AT ALL, it lagged (I had full connection) and moved me to another part of the map. I KNEW the game would screw me over and kill me whilst it wasn’t letting me move and take all the damage so I quit whilst I was still alive. I came back on and it said I was dead and I lost all my stuff??? Yes I understand if I was normal playing and I died I’d get over the fact I lost all my things because that’s how the game works but this time was ridiculous because it wasn’t my fault. Lost everything because I WATCHED these zombies spawn infront of me??? How the hell is that fair is we spend over £100 on the game to have the game mess up and screw us over??? Definitely thinking about removing this game now. The developers won’t even do anything to help either as I’ve seen in other complains they just say “oh well, it’s part of the game”. ✓ It gets worse as you go.This game was good to start with - engaging, the right difficulty and I played it a lot. But sadly as you move through the levels it becomes tiresome and frustrating. There are hardly ever weapons in drops. Hardly ever clothing. When you die occasionaly you can go to your grave and collect your things but most of the time you cannot which is the most annoying thing ever. You move through the levels to start with at a reasonable speed to start with and as per most games then quite slowly which wpuld be fine if the level of difficulty of the places you need to would match the weaponry and other things you can make yourself - it does not. Basically aa you get intontue game you need to buy everything for stupid prices. They would get more revenue by giving you the whole box for 1.99 instead of just one weapon from the box - I for one would buy more as you’ll always need weapons they expire quickly. As someone was going to go premium I now am glad I did not and deffinitely will not be. Also you cannot chnage your characters name once in the game - or at least if you can I cannot find it. Because of the robots will buy the stuff from players self, many clans are using tools to stay in the clans and make the price max for selling to the robots. This will reduce the amount of new players. My suggestion would be: the lowest price of any items will be sold automatically and immediately by robots and robots will not buy any other levels of price. This will increase the new players numbers. 2. If you do the first one, instead, you can reduce the energy recover rate from 5 minutes to 7 or 8 minutes, because you have increased the numbers of players by the first suggestion, you can use this one to increase the rate of buying coins. 3. ✓ Buggy, Grindr and seriously flawedTo say this game is a grind fest is an understatement. Critical components for basic items are rare random drops, resource requirements are often outrageous, and progression is very unbalanced. Weapons and armor break so fast you would think they were made of glass, and most weapons can’t even be crafted. Or repaired. Many of the more useful blueprints can’t be crafted because their resources aren’t in the game yet, however you can get the blueprints and dump resources towards building them only to find they can’t be completed. Worse, the game crashes. A lot. Sometimes so hard you can’t log back on. Think twice before spending any money here. The devs clearly have big plans, but I don’t think they have the programmers to pull it off. Still, there is some entertainment value here, if you can get past playing a beta which is really in alpha and may never move much beyond its current state. Edit: What a horrible reply from the dev. No comment on blueprints which can’t be built? The constant crashes? The ridiculous wear characteristics of weapons, tools and armor? ✓ Technical “support” caused loss of purchasesI purchased the expanded version where you get the bonus items for moving up in experience over the “free” rewards. I contacted support through a chat feature on the app because after an update my task list diary went away. They suggested updating to the newest version (I already was) and re-connecting to the Game Center. They also said the task list goes away after level 60, but I was only at level 45. I connected to the Game Center and it restored my game to an earlier game and I lost all my coins (404) and the rewards expansion I paid for. I got a message back saying someone was looking into what they could do (I knew my progress was lost), but I should still have my purchased expansion. Plus, I am now at level seven and the diary is still gone. I understand losing items if you die in the game, but not losing the expanded experience rewards. Update: the makers did send me a few free items, but I lost literally dozens of weapons and 200 plus coins. I will update to two stars because I do like the game. It has made the decision on whether or not to spend any more money an easy one. I won’t. If I hadn’t been told to connect to the Game Center via the app chat with support (which is no longer possible), this game probably would have intrigued me enough to spend a little money. ✓ Way too grindy for free to play playersTo progress at all in this game it is absolutely necessary to pay for in app purchases. I understand the developers need to make money but having to upgrade 1 wall with 20 wood planks and some stone that takes like 20mins to just be cut from the wood just so they don’t get demolished by zombies is absurd. I wipe an entire forest zone and only get like 3 stacks of wood which all take 20mins to be turned into wooden planks only to then be able to upgrade only three walls. This game is quite fun when you get the odd good weapon, until it breaks and you are back to square one. ✓ Games made for money not for funPlayed this game for 2 days now can easily see that it’s not made for player entertainment and more for making money. Simply the game has good fundamentals and could be fun it’s a little misleading saying you can play together with a friend but you need to get to level 30 first which is a joke. I made a nice little base at first was enjoying the game then you realise that it’s nonsensical had some food in the fire pit where you cook after an hour it just disappeared. I was getting some wood in a close spot, went there and died which was my fault entirely but after reviving and returning the whole cabinet I was in just disappeared along with my inventory. The game uses a lot of sales and 1 time opportunities to buy something’s to enjoy the game without having to grind which makes sense but even while grinding to enjoy the game you can only play for a certain amount of time before you run out of energy or resources. ✓ Terrible “event” - no response from supportI have enjoyed this game, but I have to give it one star and walk away after the last straw. There is an “event” where kidnappers show up on your base and take you to something called the Old Mansion. Your character is stripped of his gear, left with half his health, and thirsty. The only way to escape and recover your stuff is to either get extremely lucky, or look up a walkthrough so you get all the steps done correctly. Failure means you die and respawn at your base, losing any gear you were carrying with no hope of getting it back. There’s an axe available, but if you chop down the wrong door, you’re screwed because the axe is only good for one door. Best of luck! Also, there’s no way to avoid the “event.” If the kidnappers show up, you’re getting kidnapped. At level 78, I had just managed to get a tactical backpack by paying $9.99 and now it’s gone, only one day after I got it. I looked online and found several other horror stories from other players. I can understand challenging areas where I might die and lose my gear, but those are places I have the OPTION of going to and preparing for. This event is just railroading players into losing stuff they’ve worked hard for or spent money to get. And, if you’re hoping customer support might help, might as well give up. Although it is down as a multi player game it really isn’t. It’s a game where you can communicate with others that have been playing the game for a LONG time and have therefore been able to amass the items for the necessary upgrades. -They try to sell you gold coins but there’s only one thing you can buy with them. Everything else is purchased with cash. Either make everything’s available with coins or make everything only available with cash. -There are so many items that are ‘available’ but not attainable. I am unable to go to the global map as It keeps getting stuck of the loading screen :( I have uninstalling and reinstalling the game, finally was able to grind through the first bunker. The developers have been making poor decisions. If i have 8 inventory slots i grinded on my bike, don’t take it away and make me do it again. If you go to bunkers, you will eventually have to use, give or take, 9 guns, that is what is required to clear the floors 1-3. The guns do not reload and you require guns to progress in the game, however, they are hard to come by and by hard, I mean, IMPOSSIBLE. Now that you are up to speed, let’s get back to my experience. Having spent the above mentioned amount, you would think that I would get at least 5 guns... but that is something that I am convinced the producers of the game would never allow. You see, greed is a powerful thing, it consumes those that are corrupted, and they find it difficult to retrace their steps to the people they once were. The makers of the game are soo greedy that all the time they find creative ways to extract money from the people that try to play their game. I ONLY RECEIVED A GUN. I was looking for a chill game to farm materials, build shelters, and maybe kill a few zombies. It takes FOREVER just to get to a level that means something significant to the player. I also hate that if you die after gathering amazing loot, everything is just lost when you die unless you die on the site of an event (and even that has a time limit). I’m currently doing an event and I’m thinking it’s a normal “kill all zombies” type of event but this mission is such a headache with all the reading and side quests. It also has caused me to lose SOOOOOO many valuable objects because I’m thinking what’s requested of me is a simple conversation or an easy drop off but ends up being a zombie flash mob or a hide-and-seek mission with a hidden snipper (NOT OKAY). At the end of the day, it’s frustrating to play a game where it takes months to acquire certain loot and/or materials just to have it disappear in an instant. ✓ Addicting and fun, though many issues and bugsI gave this app 3 stars after the event where the kidnappers take your character away from your base. While you are there you find an iron hatchet, which you are supposed to use to break a wooden door, but I broke a bench before I realized that I needed it to get through the door, but the thing broke due to a loss of durability from the bench. Due to this fact, I lost all of my items that the thieves took, to include non-replaceable items that took a lot of time to get and that could not be replaced. Please fix this and the other bugs of the game where players can get trapped in the game with no way to escape. From what I have found on the internet and on the FANDOM wiki for this game, I know that other players have experienced the same problem and are also very frustrated from these issues. Otherwise, this is a great game and is very addicting and fun to play. Another bug is the resource pass. For the tasks, I would complete them, but some, like enter the lobby of Bunker Alpha and craft a dog crate all were done, but I did not receive any of the promised points for the rewards of the pass. This was very frustrating and not something that I could fix. One last thing that I would like to add is the ability to communicate and make friends on the game. ✓ Brilliant but frustratingSo I’m not saying I’d like it to be easy but in the beginning everything takes so much time. You can’t find half of the things you need to build your tools/clothes/stations etc, you don’t get much room neither in your pocket nor in the backpack and even if you do you’re so vulnerable someone or something will most likely kill you. I don’t know, maybe I’m doing something wrong but every time I manage to fill my backpack up and I’m just about to go back to the base either a zombie or an animal comes around and kills me. The most frustrating is when another player comes and just kills you, especially when they have better weapons and armour you stand no chance. Shouldn’t there be some sort of separation on players from different levels? I mean, I can’t count how many hours I’ve waisted on going to the location, collecting stuff and then going back to the beginning with nothing, not even my backpack on me cause I died. ✓ Good game & greedy developerPlaying a game for quite some time investing effort and money should be leading to fun & not frustrating developments. I have played and deleted this game then redownloaded it a year later to see if there is any change, for sure the resources to build essential equipment and structures are still so limited you will only be looking at a mess of trying to build a bike and maybe if lucky enough build one generator which i never been able too, forget about the ATV. To be more precise, resources are in 2 categories; some that are very “rare” like engine, gears, plastics, cement and a lot of other basics to build that I reached level 80 and up and still haven’t seen some of them and collected maybe 4 of some. And others that are so available that i keep deleting them from inventory. Air drops were not helping, conquering 1 location took me to buy more resources to pass it than I got anything valuable. It should be possible to find two or more dead bodies of your player character and be able to loot from them if you happen to die two times or more in a particular location, not have only the body from the recent death. That's like, an excuse to force a player to keep grinding constantly and it gets boring and cumbersome. Surely you can have multiple dead bodies of the player character in one location, could you not? But that really ain't the case here, even though it should be. If that gets fixed, I'll put an additional star on the rating, if not, I'll just leave it as it is. Furthermore, on the discord server devs recently banned Leo, Leo was our favourite admin 10/10, because the other admin who’s only contribution to the server is banning members didn’t like that he wouldn’t let them run rampant on the server. ✓ A lot of money is needed.I love this game. It’s fun, challenging and very clever. But Jesus I’ve spent loads on mods and different weapons as well as materials to help me defend my house. It’s totally ridiculous how much money needs to go into this game just to make it possibly to win. You spend £9.99 on new gear and armour and the minute you die it’s gone. I died in a woods as I didn’t realise how low my health was and I went back to find my stuff and it had gone. I then spent 4.99 on weapons and low and behold I lost all of that too. My house gets raided constantly and destroyed so I spend more money to rebuild as it impossible to collect more stuff before the infected horde gets to me. I was rebuilding the cell tower and came back to add more bits and all of it had been refreshed which peed me off more. So I deleted it in a huff. I reinstalled it and decided to restart and spent more money as I was completely helpless and kept dying trying to collect stuff to survive ironically. It’s just a waste of money as the things you buy will never be there for long anyway. The weapons don’t last long and the armour doesn’t last long or enough time to protect yourself or escape, no matter how advanced you are in the game you’ll still be losing. ✓ Insanely UnbalancedThe game has great potential... everything's there, it was just balanced terribly. Military grade weapons break faster than wooden swords in Minecraft. I ran through two weapons after just a few zombies attacked me. Makes no sense... fix how fast the weapons break... you can’t even get the resources to make the weapon again in the time it takes for it to break. On the topic of resources, how does one whole log, give you one plank? Whoever coded this game never realized how many planks you can get out of a single log. If one tree gives you three logs, You should definitely be getting more than one plank per log. And who had the audacity to make FIVE ash logs give you ONE ash plank. I hate to say it... but even Minecraft is better balanced than this game. One log gives you four planks in that game and that makes a thousand percent more sense to me. Even if you don’t want to change the one log = one plank thing, you could at least balance the resources required to upgrade your walls or build weapons and whatnot. The fact that you need TWENTY planks to upgrade ONE wall means you need a stack of wood and EIGHTY minutes to make enough planks just to upgrade ONE wall. Especially for someone like me who likes to build bigger bases, this is just too difficult. I get that survival is about overcoming challenges but that right there isn’t a challenge. Now to the weapons, why do I need four planks to craft a cleaver? Like I said, this cleaver is gonna break after running through only a few zombies... and if the plank is for the handle, and each plank is one third the length of a full tree, then you wouldn’t even need a full plank to make one handle, let alone four. If you want a nice survival game... I recommend ARK or one of those ghetto knockoffs of your favourite games. Unless you have the time to make... a cleaver? that’s gonna break after 5 minutes of use? ✓ Psychologically Baffling, Good JobI might come back to this game if I become comfortable enough to throw away 800 dollars because money is the only way to make real progress in this game. Most games I've played are beautiful escapes from reality that show some sense of creativity for the sake of creativity. In LDOE, any developer which thinks they contribute to this game creatively should know that the underlying, gambling-like mechanics of this game ruin any sense of prettiness in the long term. It's like how samsung put up that advertisement on a beautiful cathedral. Maybe their phone is like a piece of art because of how efficient it is, but in effort of forcing it to the public, they overshadow beautiful architecture. Just like how in LDOE, some mechanics like their 3D multiple floors at the port give a nice sense of depth, but the predatory nature of every small purchase they provide makes the joy of LDOE's creativity feel like nothing to the observer, unless, hundreds of dollars spent is nothing to you. Like the game takes advantage of the player's sense of beauty. Of course, if you enjoy the slight sense of progress this game provides, then play it. Philosophically speaking, in the absolute grand scheme of life, all progress is towards nothing because all life ends with death. So in that sense, and only that sense, this game is rewarding. It's rewarding like how buddhist monks make sand mandalas for weeks only to wipe it all away as an exercise to practice the lack of care they have for their efforts in the world. That's how this game makes me feel. LDOE relates to the above because you could make progress by spending actual years, with hours per day, working towards an ATV, only to have to know that in the back of your mind, it's not the end. you've only found like 70 carbon fiber, and that's after doing the exact same things over and over and over again for so long. Just like the monks. The developers get around this true reality of the big picture of this game by providing a short-term sense of reward that slips past the player's mind, at least for a while; you find a glock (yay!), use it to get a reward, then get another glock from the reward, then the cycle repeats. The effort-to-reward ratio is like almost exactly 1:1, with a slight favor towards progress based almost entirely on how much time you spend over the course of years, and not how much effort you put in. But if you make one mistake, die one time, or fall prey to the purposeful lack of clarity the developers have in a mission's risk, then the only way to recover your things is to not make the same mistake twice. And to guarantee you get your stuff back, the developers perfectly slide in a little offer of 1 dollar here, 4 dollars there. Of course it's fine for them to want to make money, but the game is clearly optimized for this to be the priority; the player is the product which the developers progressively try to take advantage of with sunk-cost fallacy type stuff as efficiently as possible. Once I saw this game for how it really is, I actually became much better at making progress with things in real life, because everything has felt more rewarding since. I've worked out 20 HOURS in the past 4 DAYS because working out is more rewarding than this game in the short term and obviously the long term (I am NOT lying about those figures. My arms and legs feel completely torn apart, but it's still easier than doing anything in this game with a sense of long term reward). I'd argue that almost anything is more rewarding to do than play this game once you realize the 1:1 ratio thing I mentioned earlier. So, after admittedly screwing myself out of ~60 dollars, which I take full responsibility for this mistake, I will not play this game again unless I end up making a ton of money in my adult life. And even then, I'm sure I'll get bored of the game very fast. As an educational experience, this game has been incredibly valuable. I bet everything that exists that because of the experience I've had with it, I will never be addicted to gambling ever. So thank you for that. I enjoy that there are so many missions, equipment you can built, companion dogs and an enticing story line. However! After gathering for hours you’ll find you need to gather even more items as there was a hidden upgrade, for example to make a basic radio to play with friends you need the resources to create the radio not to include the hours of levelling up so you can make it, then after you place it you’ll realise it’s still not complete and you need to gather more stuff to complete it, then after you’ve gathered all that guess what? There’s a 2nd level until you can join clans which requires another ridiculous amount of resources. Completing goals is made even harder by the fact that your weapons break so fast, you need so many medical supplies to kill endless waves of zombies which drop literally nothing of value. After you’ve done all that, your ready to finally see what loot you get off the bosses body or a big chest, it must be worth it after all that effort and grinding right? Guess what? The loot inside is literally worthless, your lucky if you even get a machete, carrot and a piece of rope, you wouldn’t have even been close to making a profit. ✓ Great game, but could be betterI do really enjoy this game, but I do have a few suggestions for the developer of the app. If you want a super successful game that keeps people coming back, you need to make it easier for people to obtain things for free or by playing without having to pay, people will then usually pay for items to support the app and get greater items in the game, I find this game almost impossible to enjoy because everything takes so long to find and I’m starting to loose interest. I also make a strong suggestion that when you die, you should drop everything but! Whatever is on your character you should be able to keep, I.e backpack and clothes. One of the main things that made this game leagues above the other countless similar (but not as great) games is that it didn’t have splash advertising. They do constant season updates and must have a huge team working on the development to stay ahead of the game. The support has always been great but when I asked them about an option to turn off the splash screen advertising they said there’s currently no way to do this. And for this you get 1 star. After me spending a fair bit of money on this great game over the past 3 years you’ve actually managed to ruin one of the things that made you a stand out. Now just about every time I leave a hard zone I get hit with a “buy this equipment for $15” screen. Poor form. ✓ Great game, but a let downI’ve played this game for a long time. Good graphics, and game play. My biggest problem is how Pointless it is to spend money hoping you’ll get ahead. Just tonight I spent almost $20 hoping to get parts for the motorcycle. Did I get what I needed? NO WAY! When you go to the in-game store, and select the transportation tab, then choose to buy one of the selections, your chance of actually getting what you need is extremely rare and random. Now there is a nice disclaimer at the top telling you that the items you see are rare or extremely rare, but I figured if I spend a few extra dollars I should get what I need, right? WRONG. All I end up getting are items that I’d get for free after about 5 minutes of game play by killing zombies, or finding the boxes that are on the ground. I’m just getting burned out. Unless you want to spend a thousand dollars to hopefully get the items you need to advance, good luck. I doubt you’ll get there. I don’t mind spending some money, it’s a well made game, and the developers deserve some fruits for their labor. ✓ Fun, but not worth the grind at allLet me start this off with, it’s fun for a survival zombie game but there’s a lot that can be improved especially since it’s been out for a long time. I’m only level 28 and I still can’t even do half of what the map offers.
