HabitMinder • Habit Tracker for Negative User Reviews

Nice but impractical to move from another appApp has good balance of features and integration with Apple Watch and Health. However if you want to switch from another habit tracking app and keep your history then be prepared to spend a lot of time entering each record again! Apps with simple calendar display which you can tick off retrospectively are better..Version: 2.4.7

Notifications miss the markThe key of any habit journal is consistency. What helps me is reminders, there is no way to have it notify you when you most need it, zero configuration. No geo fence, no time based, not even what it says when you are notified. I hate one star reviews, because obviously this is an avg app which is better than 1 star, however, at what I paid for an app which I ultimately don't use because it is missing notifications beyond 2008 standards. There is little difference between all the extra effort this dev. put in, And one 100x worse.Version: 2.4.1

Limited Reminders for the Paid AppThe app is very good. BUT it should be clear that when you pay for the full app to have unlimited reminders, it’s a trap. You can set them up in your app, but the push notification system that it’s actually what reminds you of doing your habit is limited. I understand why the developer limits push notifications as it can be expensive for them, but the app description should be clear on what you are buying. “ this app has only 20 push notifications so not all your habits will be reminded”. Kind of illogical when that is precisely the purpose of the App..Version: 2.3.2

Good but...This is a good app but it needs a way to manage reminders. It’s either turn them all off, or all on—and there are way too many reminders. The app has built-in timers, which I use for certain habits. If I turn off reminders, I don’t get notified when the timer ends!! Please let users configure reminders per habit, limit the number of reminders per day, and schedule the time of day when reminders are most useful. Thanks.Version: 2.4.7

Still some things that need to be worked outI really like the app and feel like it’s been really helpful for getting me to commit to the new habits I want to create, but there are a couple things that bother me. In particular, if I set a habit to be 2 times weekly, I have to do the habit twice in one day in order for it to be considered complete. So I’m never able to actually complete those habits in the app which is really frustrating. In my tracking it just shows as partially complete on two separate days during the week which is disappointing. Hope this gets fixed..Version: 2.3.3

Reminders need workReminders are not well thought out, triggers reminders when activities are done. Nothing like getting the reminders for activities finished Watch side takes forever to refresh status to update tasks. Was a total waste of money..Version: 2.4.4

InconsistentDrink in ml. but weight appears to be lb. not kg..Version: 2.1

Good!Very good reminder for me, elps on new healthy habits :).Version: 2.3.3

Nice UILove the concept, and the design, just need to work in monetisation strategy. I was asked to pay too soon, without really trying the app..Version: 2.5.6

Almost there. A few bugsThis app does almost everything right. There are some key omissions and frustrations though - Summary view mostly used success rate. So, if your goal is to sleep 8 hours a day and you’ve been sleeping for 7 hours for the past week, the summary shows 0%. This works for some habits but not all. I want to see the progress I’m making. Tracking the average value or something would be helpful. Right now, the only thing that helps me is the completion rate chart that shows how close I’m getting to my goal. Please add a new separate view for completion rate and summary statistics based on the actual values rather than just successes? Or a toggle. Anything. - it’s not possible to reduce the values from the previous day. For example, change 16 oz water intake to 8 oz. Please add a negative value option as well. - If you go back to the previous day and click undo button, values from today are affected. This is confusing. - When you open exercise habit and quick add 5 mins and close the habit, sometimes it automatically adds extra minutes to it. I think it also happens occasionally if you don’t add any mins too iirc. This app has potential and I’ll update my review as the app gets more updates..Version: 2.6.4

StupidIt only allows the ability to track 3 habits for free. 🤨😒 so annoying. I’m trying to start a healthy lifestyle and I can’t even track what I need to..Version: 2.5.8

Fair app but two key problemsLove the layout and set up. Two key issues; 1. The units become fixed - units/day or mins/day. Would like for this to be flexible. 2. I have reading and meditation habits on timer. I noticed that after using these timers on iPhone or Apple Watch, my activity stats - calories - were way way too high. I had sat and did nothing but read or breathe but the app had made Heath data count these in. Had to manually delete health data which got tedious..Version: 2.3.2

So that was a waste of timeCan only put in 3 habits before they ask for money . $5, almost $6. Too much . I liked the design but everything else was meh ..Version: 1.5

This is a Great App but.....This is a great app! It’s unobtrusive, easy to use and gives you just the amount of information you need to know how well you’re coming along with building a habit. The only problem is that you’re only able to track three habits before tell you that it wants to charge you on a MONTHLY basis. Effective app or not and no matter how much these app developers keep trying to push this monthly fee structure, this app isn’t one that justifies a bill on a monthly basis! Should consider either ads or allowing customers to buy it outright. This monthly subscription is DEFINITELY what keeps me from going any further and looking for another app..Version: 1.3.1

Very poorJust paid nearly £20 for this app for the summary page to not work at all, very disappointed.Version: 2.5.4

An app not aimed at a global audienceNeeds to allow individuals to select metric or imperial. In Europe we have no idea what a US Fl Oz is!.Version: 2.2.1

No Customer SupportTook this app for a month and it was exactly what I was looking for. Easy to use, plenty categories, and many options for those categories. Got an offer for an annual subscription in the app, after I had upgraded to an annual subscription, and despite restoring, deleting, reinstalling, I can’t use the app. 1 week later and still no response from customer support, which makes me think that they don’t have any. I still can’t use the app! I want my money back, and my 5 Star review has been downgraded from 5 Stars to a black hole 🕳️‼️ Rip off!.Version: 2.8.0

A bit disappointing really.Would’ve been great if I could edit the goal unit. The only units available are counts and mins. A bit pointless if using the app for other things such as money. Why can’t I have GBP or USD?!! Also, the app does not support decimals. So if you are using the app to track hours, good luck. Only whole numbers are supported. If the developer could address these issues, the app would be perfect👌.Version: 2.3.4

RUINED MY HEALTHI couldn’t stop peeing! it made me overdose on water and i didn’t stop peeing every 5 minutes! DO NOT DOWNLOAD UNLESS YOU WANT TO PISS YOURSELF.Version: 2.3.3

UnorganizedI give it 2 starts for the following reasons: This app is unorganizzed and I have no idea what going on. I set a habit for the afternoon and It doesn't allow me to choose the time I want it to remind me at. I got a notification at 10am when I was still asleep saying "exercise is due" when I set the habit for the afternoon. The app has to many things going on and I feel it needs to be more simple. Maybe I am just dumb or this app is to complicated and not very organized , because it took me 6 minutes to set 1 habit..Version: 2.7.1

Great app! This app has helped me so much, I love it. I feel like I don’t need to worry so much anymore!!.Version: 2.1

Good for a short timeLoved using this but then the apple health integration just decided to stop working..Version: 2.3.2

Almost incredibly usefulI love the UI and I have high hopes that this is going to trick me into building healthier habits. But the Apple Watch complications don’t update unless you go to your phone, open the app and then wait. I just want a complication that shows my step goal (and updates in the background). Edit: The complications also round up. So 1.5k steps becomes 2k steps. Edit 2: Widgets also need you to open the app for them to update..Version: 2.6.1

I like this, but some problemsIf you buy a 'Habitminder ' app you want to build habits. The developers don't seem to have thought about timings. I keep changing my habit list as I'm working out slowly what my real priorities are (!) but not having reminders arrive at specific times and having them all arrive first thing in the morning has a very overwhelming, demotivating effect. I'm going back to my simple list in iPhone 'Notes'. Which is a shame as these guys have already taken my money. It's a good idea but needs some work to get it to a workable concept. Also, it doesn't seem flexible. Say you did 'stretching' (I work either standing at an easel or sitting at a desk a lot) - perhaps you did it already, but there's a timer which doesn't allow you to tick that task. You either do it twice or delete the habit. It's just kind of nonsensical to me, and wastes my time. I also think the design is a bit dark and demonic and could be a bit perkier, without being tonally so patronising. I want to try again but this app just isn't helping and there's no online support apparent..Version: 2.1

User experience needs rethinkingApp is ok I guess but it could do with some user experience improvements. Too many actions to complete a task. It should be a single tap to complete one once the reminder pops up. I shouldn’t need to enter extra details like start time and duration to complete it. I already set these up when setting the reminder! Since i use other apps for tracking tasks (yoga, meditation, etc) it feels redundant to do it all over again!.Version: 2.4.8

Sadly unusableIt was working great until it stopped tracking my mindful minutes and exercise. Double checked permissions and all was working well. Started a free premium trial to see if I could sync, uninstall, reinstall, and see if that helped. Upon reinstall it asked me to add habits, so I assumed the sync failed. No biggie. I added meditation. Then the old habits reappeared. At this point it crashed. I’m guessing perhaps because there were now two habits tracking from Mindful Minutes in Apple Health. I now cannot open the app without it crashing. I can’t delete the data in my account to start over. I can’t contact support through the app because I cannot open the app. Uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing. The app is unusable. Very disappointing..Version: 2.4.3

Good design, but worth this subscription fee?!I like this app and I think it could be one I use daily instead of another for which I purchased a premium upgrade. However, whilst a 90% discount tempts me, committing to it when the renewal is as high as it is puts me off trying it out properly. I know the value is in the benefit received, not the design or features, so maybe it’s worth it, but I doubt it..Version: 2.8.0

Quite usefull, a little expensive and a little annoying£10 for a £2 app, bust still very useful if you need a hand to stay on track and want to be a little healthier. Although, I wish there was a way to customise the push notifications messages, the wording is patronising and annoying..Version: 2.1

Too expensiveIn one of your answers to a review you mentioned a one-time purchase of 3.99, however I cannot see that option. Further, while the description says it supports Family sharing, there is no option to buy the app, only to make in-app purchase; and you developers of course know that in-app purchases cannot be shared in a family. So, there is no reason for you to even mention family sharing as for free apps it makes no sense, while for in-app purchases it does not work. So “family sharing” this app is equivalent to just installing it from the App Store on another device. This also means that with the current prices to have it fully functional on 3 devices means paying $30! I would not actually mind buying the app for $10 from the app store, and sharing it among 3 devices, or installing 3 apps and making in-app purchases of 3*3.99, but not $30..Version: 2.2.2

OkStuck with Dopey American units.Version: 1.5

Won’t sync with apple watchThe length of time for my habits is not the same on apple watch and on my phone. I often complete the habit on my watch but it says incomplete on my phone, and for some reason it says max is 60 minutes. Sometimes it says i randomly studied 60mins even though i haven’t studied yet… quite frustrating for a paid app.Version: 2.5.8

DissapointingDespite removing it, re-installation twice and 2 reboots of watch and phone, information on Apple Watch and iPhone doesn’t sync. Reminders don’t interact so that a smoothie addition doesn’t add to hydration. It doesn’t pick up iHealth activity either like standing. It works on their test system, so you might be lucky. You can’t specify times, so you get a reminder to take your 0800hrs meds at noon, even if you’ve already logged that you’ve taken them..Version: 2.2.2

ICloud sync unreliableIf iCloud sync doesn’t reliably sync health data and between devices, this app is useless to me. This is the case and it’s a shame..Version: 2.6.2

Good But Not GreatI wanted an app that would sync with Apple Health data, and this does. I also wanted unlimited tasks, and the most recommended habit app for iPhone only allows 24 tasks—this app allows unlimited tasks. I wanted a one-time purchase, not a monthly fee, and this has a one-time purchase (I paid the $20 for lifetime premium). BUT I really, really want a way to set a task to be completed every other week or every three weeks, and there just isn’t. You have to set it for once a week or once a month (you can’t even do twice a month because it ends up being twice in one day to check it as complete). If they could fix the frequency options, I’d easily give this 5 stars..Version: 2.7.1

It is good but...It is good but you can ONLY USE THREE FOR FREE!!!!! I was disappointed that I had to pay because I am very young and I don’t own a credit card. It is good bu if you are willing to pay 13 dollars every year this app is for you. Thank you pls fix it.Version: 2.5.8

Concept is great, reality is just ok.I really wanted to love this, but I find it annoying that I can’t manually input completion of a habit, so if you don’t remember to go into the app to log things ahead of time, you have to wait for the countdown of whatever assigned time is associated with the habit in order for it to log. Unless I am missing something? Also, the save money habit doesn’t even have a unit of currency as an option? Disappointed in the lack of customization even with the paid version. Shouldn’t I be able to create custom habits in whatever category? Overall it’s ok, but I regret purchasing..Version: 2.1

Update to: can’t access app supportI received an email from Apple about my review. So, I re-downloaded the app and found a way to contact developers through app (which I could -not- access previously). I was now, also, able to preview sounds. Whether they updated and fixed bugs or some time-alchemy occurred, I don’t know. But, my complaints seem to have been addressed and the app is working as one would expect. Now I’ll try it out and comment at a later date about how it serves as a habit minder. (Previous comments: I don’t like to review an app that i’m having a problem with until i first try contacting support or developers directly. this app isn’t listed on the support page! how is one supposed to select a sound alert if the app doesn’t play the sound when one selects it? there is no way to hear the sound prior to receiving the actual alert. that is either a bug, an oversight, or dumb.).Version: 2.2.2

Good, paid versions aren’t clear.I’ve tried every habit tracker out there and this one is alright. The paid versions aren’t clear what it contains. And even in the paid version it quickly runs out of reminders which is silly. Hopefully they add more soon. It’s nice that they have pre-made habits or you can create your own..Version: 1.3.1

Limited and could be so much better. For example, there isn’t an “hourly” option for frequency. When trying to achieve a goal, it’s best to break it down into manageable parts. If you want to achieve something for the day, hourly reminders to do it bit by bit are essential..Version: 2.5.6

Habit completion comes up as exercise on watchI tracked an hour of reading on my watch and as soon as the timer went on the app, my activity said an hour of exercise done. I haven’t even got out of bed yet let alone done an hour of exercise. So basically my watch confused completing a habit with exercise so is now completely useless to me..Version: 2.5.8

Can’t cancel the subscriptionAnnoyed that there is nowhere to cancel, nowhere to login and nothing in settings - is this a scam? Can’t cancel through Apple subscriptions either and that is as per the instructions. Not good.Version: 2.8.0

RemindersGood app but the reminders all sound alike. I need audio cues that tell me what to do. Either voice commands saying “stretch”, “walk”, “water”, etc, or sound effects that resemble stretching, footsteps, water pouring, etc..Version: 2.4.9

Great look, nice integration, but flawedThe timer doesn't chime if the phone is sleeping, or often when I'm in other apps. I think that it's important for the timer to chime in the background no matter what. Also, please include a way to indicate how many more times per week/day I have to complete a task on the today screen. It's a big motivation to know. Apart from that, beautiful app with a reasonable asking price. Thank you for including a one-time option..Version: 2.3.2

I’ve had enoughI’ve been searching for ages for an app that i can track as many habits as i want for free and to help me with my life. if you are in the same situation, give up. it’s a better to have normal reminders everyday for 66 days to build habits. if you don’t want to pay, don’t buy, you can only add 3 habits. as with many other habit tracking apps..Version: 2.3.4

ScamOnly reason I’m giving it more than one start is because I like the app, but it’s such a scam! I wanted to try the free trial for 7 days. But they charged my iTunes account for a whole year’s subscription! Without my knowledge. Usually you have to put in some credit card information to start a free trial... not on this one, they just charge you from your iTunes account! The only reason I’m keeping the app now is because I have invested almost $11 in it. I’ll probably delete it anyway cause I’m so mad. Stick with the 3 habits and do not try the “free” trial. It’s a trick..Version: 2.3.6

Worrying privacy policyI like this app and was thinking of buying it. I won’t be now I’ve read the privacy policy. Analytics Facebook Ads conversion tracking (Facebook pixel) Personal Data: Cookies; Usage Data Facebook Analytics for Apps Personal Data: Usage Data; various types of Data as specified in the privacy policy of the service Google Analytics for Firebase Personal Data: In-app purchases; number of Users ; unique device identifiers for advertising (Google Advertiser ID or IDFA, for example); Usage Data.Version: 2.5.8

ScammersOwned by the same company as Done. They sold lifetime upgrades and have now purposefully degraded Done, while pushing this app which does the same thing. Avoid at all costs..Version: 2.8.0

Useless unless you pay for itReached out to support twice to claim my offer because I was willing to pay for it - no response.Version: 2.8.0

Missing a good summaryI like the app but I would like to find more icon options to personalise the habits and specially I miss that it does not have a summary where you can check the whole week with all the habits, marked the ones you have done that week and the ones you haven’t..Version: 2.7.1
