Paid app that just wants to sell sell sellDownloaded to help a new hobby stargazing and on paying and opening it announced I could buy packs twice within seconds. Locked my phone and reopened the app an it asks if I want to spend £23 on the premium app. I don’t mind in app purchases but come on, this takes the biscuit..Version: 6.7.0

ProblemsI have to turn my phone off and on to activate the panning of the night sky..Version: 6.7.6

App interface issueI’m trying to go back in time BC but this app return at the actual date with the most little mistake loosing al the time that you spend for looking back 6000 bc or more. There is no way to set a fast looking time. If you lock your date at the year 0 it return again to the actual date. Do not spend the extra money for this because it’s a faulty feature. I really want my money back.Version: 7.1.7

Great app but no scope controlI downloaded the app thinking it would be an upgrade to Celestron SkyPortal. It functions in exactly the same way, but there is no scope control. I’ve deleted the app and asked for my money back..Version: 6.0.1

Not convinced yetStill not autofinding as quick as previous version if at all.Version: 6.1.2

Not worth the money! Was excited at first to try it, but was a bit of a let down once I paid the initial $2.99. Keeps trying to get you to pay even more for stuff that I thought would be included in the price I initially paid. It also doesn’t move around as you do, like apps such as SkyView do! It’s also not easy to maneuver the map and is very limited to what you can see without paying EVEN more. The plus is that when you do finally get the map to focus on what you want, there is a good amount of info on there, but but nothing that isn’t already made available for free on Google..Version: 6.8.0

Lost star catalog designationsReally bummed that this version doesn’t display various star catalog names for stars. This is really useful for those using computerized mounts without direct connection of the app to the telescope. Now I have the extra step of looking up a star via other sources to get their HIP or SAO designations for entering in to my hand controller. Used to have this capability in SS5 but not apparently in this SS6 free version. Makes me wonder whether it’s even displayed in the Pro version..Version: 6.1.2

ToolbarFinding it hard to get clear night sky without thedistracting toolbar.Version: 7.1.1

Practically useless on my iPhone 8 using IOS 14.1I’m not an astronomer. One of the main reasons I got this app was to LEARN, and the fact the phone would automatically adjust what was shown on the screen as I moved it around was a big selling point. My phone will not do this basic function. I have location services on (system does show correct location), but whether I have compass on or AR running (as shown by the blank compass and little “AR” on the screen), my phone screen is static, no matter where I point it. I can manually move the screen around, but that’s pointless because I don’t know what the heck I’m pointing at. Selecting an object on the phone is useless because I don’t know if there’s any correlation between the real world and what I’m selecting on the app. It’s been this way since I downloaded this piece of junk. This is my first attempt to get it fixed; if the developers can get it working I’ll update my review..Version: 6.7.6

Doesn’t have features shown in previewI bought the app so I find out how much of the sky I could see with my scope. In the Preview it shows screenshots of a “Scope” tab but my app does not have it. I thought maybe it’s just part of the Pro version and was going to upgrade but don’t see a way to upgrade my version 6 to version 6 pro within the app. Not very happy with my purchase since the only thing I wanted it for was to put my scope info in..Version: 6.6.4

DisappointedI wanted an alternative to SkyPortal to control my telescope. Unfortunately I didn’t notice that it doesn’t include telescope control. I already have that in SkyPortal, so this doesn’t help! Barry, North Wales.Version: 7.1.1

Not bad but not goodThe app itself is pretty decent. Shows all of the deep sly and solar system objects pretty well. The issue is when using the app, it will randomly delete objects that you were once looking at and when you try to search it again it says it doesn’t exist. All-in-all 3 stars..Version: 6.7.2

Good appThis app is really cool.Version: 6.3.1

Doesn't really work fine with New Zealand timezoneI have to set time one hour back in the app to make it show stars where they are. "Automatic Daylight Saving Time" switch is on.Version: 6.3.1

Constant ads & alerts, crappy interface & not as good as free appsGet the free app Sky View Lite instead and save yourself a couple bucks - way better functionality and doesn’t have any ads or alerts that I’ve found so far. I’m not working for that app developer, just telling you so you don’t make my mistake. No idea why this one is rated so highly - not worth even a free download..Version: 6.8.5

Very slow updating cometsThere is a fifth magnitude Comet Swan in the sky, discovered a few weeks ago, but it has still not been added to the database. You can only add comets yourself in the advanced/pro versions..Version: 6.6.4

Cannot find Elon’s RoadsterWhere is it???.Version: 6.0.4

Disappointed!I paid $40 for this app when it first came out. Now they want a subscription. The first app that does not honor your purchase. Very disappointing!.Version: 7.1.9

Sky viewI am beginning to enjoy it but I am finding it rather confusing..Version: 6.8.5

Too much advertising for a paid appIt works. However be prepared for a continuous onslaught of advertising for extras to a high price app for features that should be included. Charging for catalogues which are available in the public domain..Version: 6.5.3

Premium app that sells premium subscriptionUnfortunately I paid for this sky map app that has only the basic info without the satellites which they charge additional premium for. Besides that they even couldn’t display correct time it was one hour ahead. I could have gotten the same or more for free. Compared to google sky this is a joke..Version: 7.1.9

Lame so farScreen isn’t movin on its own.Version: 6.1.2

No AR for iPad3 otherwise excellentI first end used SkySafari on Mac Book in 2011 and found it a superb way to explore night sky. Bought it to show my grandson used an old iPad 3, I chose it because Augmented Reality is a great tool for youngsters. Nothing in the App description about there features being limited. Please put a warning up have wasted hours looking for nonexistent AR..Version: 6.8.0

Like the app, but owe me the Pro versionI had the Pro version for years, but hadn’t use for awhile. When I opened the app it kept crashing. I tried everything that I found online to fix it with no success. I repurchased the basic app and hoped since I was already registered it would automatically update with Pro. Nope. I’m out my original $70+ and the $2.99 for the basic version..Version: 7.1.7

Get the PlusIt wasn’t very clear what’s included in each version. It took me just a few minutes to figure out the Basic are really basic. Went online to look up a feature, and found out “... This feature only supported by Plus and Pro. ...” The Basic probably should’ve been the lite/demo instead of charging people for it. And yes, I purchased the Plus..Version: 6.0.4

Hidden subscription feeThe price of the app doesnt include the subscription, which is required to see comets such as C/2022 E3 for example.Version: 7.1.7

No “advanced search”, false advertisingI bought this basic version of the app because I read online that SkySafari can search by multiple details like object type, magnitude, ascension, declination, altitude, azimuth, distance, etc. The description of this app lists “Advanced Search - find objects using properties other than their name”. But this is a lie, the only search option is to find by name. $3 spent one a lie. Their website (which seems to be out of date by a version or 4 depending on which page your on) says there’s an “advanced search” option under the text entry field on the search interface - only there isn’t. So I then paid $30 for the Pro version, thinking “oh, the advanced search must be in the pro version”. Nope, exactly same search functionality. They need to be more clear about NOT offering advanced search options in their apps and I need a refund..Version: 7.1.8

Not to goodIt is not how I thought it is not very accurate and it won’t let me find exactly where everything is.Version: 6.6.4

A little disappointingMy initial reaction was a little disappointed. The app returns to wherever I last looked. There doesn’t seem to be an easy way to get back to the sky overhead at today’s date and time. Would be nice to have something to center on the current zenith. Also when I used the search feature the app did not have many of the objects I would have expected to be included. Many of the popular nebulae are missing. For example the horse head nebula. I tried searching for the common name and the official designation. The add-in purchase of cosmos does not appear to add those objects. If it did, I would probably purchase the add-in. Overall, I was disappointed. I have several other astronomy apps installed and this one is slightly different but at first experience, does not seem to be any better than the others. I do not own a telescope that supports “control”, so sky safari pro is not an appropriate purchase..Version: 6.2.0

A great app but where do the comets go?I use this app quite a bit to see where targets will be at certain times including the moon. The one thing that bugs me is having to delete and reinstall due to the list of bright comets being empty. After reinstalling the comets are back for a short time.🤔.Version: 6.2.1

Change is not always goodIt used to be easy to change from hours to minutes etc. now I have to press this button then another. Bye bye! Your response did not help. I’m not talking about the actual date and time. I used to have a box that I could advance the display by seconds, minutes, days, etc. that box is gone and now if I want to see what time the moon rises and where, I have no means. And sure, you put moonrise time on a different page, but it doesn’t tell me which direction to look. I’ve checked settings to see if it’s there but no..Version: 7.1.1

Not working ?Stopped working. Licence verification failed..Version: 6.6.4

CompassHello there anyone knows why the compass doesn’t work it says can’t find true north or something it’s iPhone 11.Version: 6.8.0

Beautiful app, but ...Apple Watch app installs but opens to all black screen and won’t load. Watch app would be most used by me over the iPad app..Version: 6.1.0

Great starter appTried it loved it am now going pro.Version: 6.8.5

C... De voleursThese are thieves, I bought several options with the application and now almost everything has been unavailable since update! However, I had to buy these options and there they ask me for a subscription to have access to it!.Version: 7.1.1

Confusing Multiple AppsThe app does work, even though the user interface is a bit outdated. There’s a lot of info available, but it’s all cramped and cluttered. There are multiple apps from this developer with the same/similar name at varying costs. Since there are warnings to choose the app version carefully and after much confusion I just went with the NiteSky app and their $9.99 subscription for a year. Your warning caused me to go with your competitor..Version: 6.3.1

User Error?I tried this app for the first time tonight and found it didn’t line up as accurately as I would have liked. I tried using Venus as a visual reference point however when I used the app overlay the apps location for Venus was different than the actual location. I could actually see both images (the real one and and labeled app one) about an inch apart. The same thing with Mars. Is this user error or app error. Over all first impression is meh but that could change if I learn if I screwed it up vs app error..Version: 6.7.2

Why can’t post direct to fb?Can’t send pics.Version: 6.2.0

Better options out thereBought to track the Neowise comet but apparently i need to purchase an upgrade for that. Lame..Version: 6.7.2
