✓ It keeps abortingI bought the Pro because I wanted to record a few “background” sounds that — with my new hearing aids — sound so much louder (coffee maker, a/c, fans, water, etc. I’m returning soon to get so my hearing aids adjusted and thought these recordings would help. But after saving a recording, the program aborted. And aborted. And aborted. Every time I went back in, it just ended. I was finally able to get it to stay open to record once again, but after each recording it would abort again it was a minute or more before it would stay open. I’m not impressed. ✓ Works very wellApp works very well and does all it claims to do. Only gave it 3 stars because of the advertising in it. App is worth the cost of the paid version so upgraded to be free of the advertising. Now it pesters me to rate it. I am now rating it. If it continues to pester me I will delete it..Version: 6.2.3
✓ FFT and dB meterOverall this app is ok. Please improve the readability of the frequency scale on the FFT as it’s hard to read (colour of frequency numbers and dB on scale to dark to read easily). The print out snap should include FFT as this is important information and why I bought the app. Camera function on mine seems to crash iPhone 6.Version: 7.0.0

✓ Peak hold feature neededGood overall decibel meter. The “peak” shown on the main screen appears to be an average peak measurement, which works for many tests. If the app offered the ability to switch between displaying a peak hold line or average peak line it would be even more useful. With the peak hold feature you could run several scans of the environment or test subject and display peak sound level vs the full audible frequency span. Quite useful if you want to characterize the peak response of a speaker across all audible frequencies. As of now the only way to see the full frequency peak line is to record the phone screen, replay the average peak pink line as it sweeps frequency, and manually record sound level at each frequency. The built in recording feature doesn’t show sound level amplitude on the Y axis and you can’t export a video of the recording, thus the need for screen capturing. Skypaw, when can the peak hold feature be added?.Version: 8.2.7

✓ Does not record consistentlyThe restaurant behind my house has an ancient fan and I need to build a case against them. Being able to record a sound file is key. However only about 1 in 4 attempts result in a usable file. The rest of the time I get an error sound file cannot be played. This is not user error. ✓ Got Rid Of Best Map?Why would you get rid of the best map you had that showed the decibel level changing over a period of time? Who had the genius idea to do this? Or is the new map you put in its place broken? The Y axis shows decibels but it showing double what the decibels are. So 40 dB is showing up as 80..Version: 8.2.5

✓ Video lackingThis seems like it could be a really good app. The problem I have is I cannot turn the phone upside down (mic is at the bottom) to take video while holding the phone upside down to avoid hands being near the mic. Also can’t turn it sideways. Some bugs on the video function cause crash as well. Hopefully they add this functionality..Version: 7.0.0

✓ Latest iPhone VersionI’ve been using this app for a few years and it’s never let me down ... until now. The app is useless on my iPhone X now. Since the latest update, the app crashes upon launch. If I repeatedly relaunch the app I may get lucky after 5 or 6 attempts to launch. Yet after it finally opens its unstable if I switch to a different app and usually crashes as well. Contacted support, 2 weeks ago and there has been no response. In the Z weighting if each level in the Xcel is of equal time duration then it should be a simple average equation of adding the dBZ and dividing by the total number of recordings. ✓ Just downloaded this appI just downloaded this app and it closes as soon as it starts up. I have an iPhone XS Max, 256 gb storage running iOS 12.2, apple’s latest version. Fix this app or refund the purchase price ASAP. Despite what the developer says or claims, this app was not corrected or fixed as it disappears as soon as the app comes up but stays in the background. When you flick the bottom of the phone screen you can see it but as soon as you lift your finger off the screen it disappears again. What a frustrating piece of crap this app is. If my credit card gets charged for it I will take it up with my card issuer so the charge is removed from account. Should that fail I will file a complaint with the NYS attorney general office as well as the FTC. ✓ No horizontal meter view w/ iPad Mini 2 & No SupportThis a 5-star app undermined practically by two things: There is no apparent way to have the decibel meter viewable when my iPad Mini 2 (iOS 12.x) is horizontal. That is, the decibel meter and frequency graph visible in vertical mode reduce to graph only. Horizontal view allows placing the iPad in a more stable position, especially when in a supportive keyboard style case. And second, the Support page to contact the developers about this never loads.
