As much as having all the planets considered in your chart should give you a better idea of who you are, the app tends to speak in jargon. ✓ Don’t download this appI like astrology, like a lot of astrology girls out there, I was looking for an app where I could see my natal chart and have accurate daily horoscopes designed to fit all my placements. I’d seen Co-star before and I knew it was notorious for being pretty quirky with their readings which is why I picked it over other apps, It had nice graphics and starting out it was pretty legit! I used it for a long time, got my friends and family to use it, not noticing how slowly my horoscopes were becoming more and more grim as time went on. Eventually I wanted to pay for the in depth love reading because, being single and happy, I thought it would be super lighthearted and fun. I was wrong :D. “No matter what you’ve told yourself, you are not a victim.” Are you kidding me? Literally quoting part of what that overly-negative, borderline hateful horoscope read. I really hope other people who got the same reading I did didn’t read into it at all because if I didn’t know any better it would have made me really upset. In my personal experience, I don’t think it’s normal for readings to come off as negative as this app approaches it, it’s unnecessarily harsh. I just believed I was a Cancer rising because this app said so… well when I decided to learn more about my chat I discovered that I am in fact well and truly a Gemini rising instead! There should be an option to sign up via email, as there are people who do not want to share/do not even have a facebook, and also do not want to give their phone number. Given the GDPR rules in the UK, I am surprised they are still allowed to do this, and as far as supporting the app, this can be done through non-personalised advertising so I just do not see the justification in asking for that kind of personal data, especially seeing as you already give your date of birth which combined with facts from your facebook could inadvertently give up enough security information to access secure accounts..Version: 3.15

The daily update it sends is usually some words of wisdom, todays was bizarre it read 'keep your passport handy, keep cash, keep water and batteries, collect your meds and loved ones, just incase, and silence your phone' Basically asking to prepare for an emergency & by the sound of it, an extreme emergency. If they’re going through a tough time (which they most likely are) the wrong computer-generated message could hurt them even more that day; it doesn’t take much. Kids don’t understand AI. I’m not someone that really believes in astrology much, but having the app and getting daily advice that was more accurate than other apps or websites was always nice. However, the daily advice went from things like “You should focus on your personal health because around this time you’ll be stressed by work” to (and this is one that I got about a week ago that I have a screenshot of) “learn calculus”. Not “learning calculus may benefit you professionally” or anything. It just told me to learn calculus with no further reasoning. On Sunday the 21st my daily lightbulb was “Individualism is a lie”. I can’t tell if whoever is writing is having personal issues and doesn’t care how blunt and irrelevant they’re being, or if co-Star has genuinely just stopped caring. This is also all separate from the whole other issue of co-stars racist meme that other recent reviews have talked about. If you’re looking for an app for astrology another app I have and will be keeping is Nebula. ✓ Annoyed!Whilst I find the charts and horoscopes helpful, the app itself has logged me out a number of times and hasn’t remembered any of my details. Each time you get logged out you have to sign back up again, putting in your birth date and time. ✓ Sucks compared to other astrology appsCo-Star is a very underwhelming and frankly disappointing astrology app. Not only do they not include your 12 houses/Planets, they make frequent inaccurate predictions and don’t teach you anything about your natal charts, lilith sign, node sign, chiron sign, pallas a sign, your quality (wether it be mutable or fixed), your masculine/feminine duality, and so much more. If you are tying to get into the wonders of astrology or have been studying it for years, co-star is a terrible app for all. The creators of the app only studied astrology for a couple months before the apps creation. They are not professionals whatsoever. ✓ Overly OminousI downloaded this app about a year ago, and sure, it’s fun. It’s a great idea and I like that it takes your whole chart into account. I’ve been deeply interested in astrology for many years, and at times I think the app is on track. However, because the info it gives you in a daily update is from an algorithm that strings together sentences from some millennial English majors with a penchant for the dramatic, the daily reminders tend to feel overwrought—like a fortune teller at a county fair telling you there’s gloom and doom ahead. It’s tiresome, it’s anxiety inducing, and honestly they need to chill and maybe try to look at some other material to gain inspo for their algorithmic sentences. Reviews online say things like “use to predict how crap your day will be,” and I just think that speaks volumes to the writing in the app itself. Then, there are times the app is so clearly algorithmic the sentences don’t actually make sense next to one another—but a person searching for meaning will find it. With so many users turning to this app somewhat religiously, it seems ill advised and honestly questionable at best to continue to dole out “brutally honest” astrological advice (as one blog reviewed to it). The bigger the app gets the more responsibility the creators have to think about just what kind of monster they may be creating..Version: 3.11
✓ Payed horoscope?I love co star and think it’s a wonderful app that is very interesting to check everyday for my new horoscope. However, yesterday I noticed there was an option for me to read in depth about my relationships if I made an offer. Me being interested, I made an offer of $3 and waited. I woke up this morning to find my offer was accepted so I opened the tab, payed and I still couldn’t see my relationships horoscope? It stayed the way it originally was and told me that my offer had been accepted but I couldn’t click or read anything. I thought it was most likely because I needed to refresh the page so I clicked off it and now I can’t find it anywhere. Quite disappointed..Version: 3.39

✓ The App Signed Me OutCo-Star is an amazing app. I was thoroughly impressed with its accurate predictions and somewhat addicted. However, I checked in the app for around the 4th time of the day to read over something that spiked my curiosity previously in the day. And, to my surprise, the app had logged me out without giving me notice and I couldn’t log back in. When I tried imputing my phone number it rejected it as it was already in use. Is this a bug? ✓ Good app but the monetization attempts are I’ll-conceivedI’ve had the CoStar app for about 2 years now, maybe a little longer and overall it’s a great app, and serves as a fun way to start exploring Astrology and Natal Charts beyond the newspaper horoscopes most people think of when they think of astrology readings. However, the newest update with the addition of the shop feature is a blatant cash grab. The detailed love reports are $8.99 USD per person. In the early days of the app, you had to make an offer bid on these, and I ended up paying only $2 for each of them. The $9 price tag now is not worth it, particularly since they’re supposedly AI generated (as per their website). You get a few paragraphs of info, which while it does serve as good material to do some reflection on about yourself or romantic partners, it is in no way worth the $9 price tag now, particularly when these same reports were available for much much cheaper in the past. As for the 2.99 compatibility profiles…you can do this anyways without paying for it. Just log out, make another account using the birth time of the person you want to have a compatibility profile for, add your main account as a friend and presto! You just saved yourself $2.99 Use the app, just stick clear of the paid reports :).Version: 4.00
✓ Accurate but weird & darkThis app gives you insight and thoughtful advice as a result of your planets positions; it’s an eye opener. It is unique in this respect and it’s actually a good idea to follow through their advice and try to change for the better. But sometimes their advice doesn’t make sense, maybe they go deeper than my understanding, but do’s and don’t as an example: “don’t hate watch”, “ don’t dark holes”, “don’t sleep in makeup”. What??? They don’t even make sense. Ok, whatever…..another thing that bothers me is the drawings (huge bugs, sensual lips, chest and 6 pack belly, snakes, etc)…..this is just not my thing and they aren’t pretty drawings either, they’re black and white and zoomed in….kinda creepy specially when you get the bug. The other day I couldn’t focus on the words because of it. They’re just weird and most of the time distracting. I always have to cover these drawings to be able to focus on the words. Is this a brainwashing strategy?? Colorful letters and numbers or nice, pretty faint shades in the background would be much better than seeing those eye-sore images. ✓ Disgusting horoscopesThe creator of costar admitted that she looks at people’s charts and aspects then uses horoscopes their horoscopes to “mess with them” so people would break down and then get stronger. I’ve noticed more over time how the horoscopes would literally play with me and my emotions like the app was trying to trigger me. If I want to be triggered into healing I’ll do it on my own terms. There is no excuse for this and it is really plain disgusting. I will not be using this app again unless the creator comes out saying she’s changing it and will stop provoking people. The most popular house systems, whole house and placidus, are not even options on this app. The birth chart layout is also not very good.
