✓ Fantastic App for traveling Route 66!I love this app and I highly recommend it daily to our Route 66 travellers in our Welcome Center and Gift Shop at the Launching Pad on Route 66 in Wilmington, Illinois, home to the Gemini Giant! Over 40 other locations along the Route are also selling the App card for Android for this app so if you miss us, you can find it at other quality locations down the Route. This app is the first of its kind to actually help you stay on the actual Route. Google mapping technology doesn’t recognize decommissioned highways and many people who come into our restaurant and store are lost before they even hit the road coming out of Chicago. To create such a feat takes a huge amount of effort, programming, and work on the development of something of this magnitude and the owners/designers of this product are constantly adding and tweaking their design to make this app THE answer to helping Route 66 travelers get the most for their trip! This app has two settings. One part is free to download to get information, the other part is the navigation portion that is available for purchase. They have two tiers of pricing - one week and one year subscription. Your purchase is not recharged at the end of your subscription as another reviewer mentioned. The price is reasonable being that buying a book and map virtually would cost you the same PLUS- the mapping technology can be used without wifi access (off line) which saves you in the long run with data streaming. One wrong turn without support can cost you a half a day and a tank of gas (we hear it all the time) so I highly recommend this navigation tool. Lastly, after reading the long review left by another person- please disregard his comments. He’s leaving multiple very negative reviews as a means to damage the good work that is being done by this company. It seems he has an agenda to discredit and destroy Route 66 Navigation as his sole purpose here and I can imagine he’s doing it with ulterior motives. We believe he is asking his friends to leave negative reviews as well without purchasing. I know the developer personally and his love and heart for Route 66 inspired him to create this app so everyone can enjoy the Mother Road with ease. Using reviews to harm someone’s business by posting multiple reviews says much more about this person than the company. Please read his reviews with this in mind. ✓ Perfect trip!This was exactly what I needed to travel Route 66, I always had the choice of staying in the main roads or detouring to nearby attractions from Flagstaff Arizona to Oklahoma then north through Kansas...It truly was a remarkable trip and having this app showed all the places to see and kept you on the original Route 66 as much as possible...it was perfect!.Version: 1.0.5
✓ Just rode entire Route 66 on motorcycleJust rode from Tennessee to Chicago to California using this app. I bought books and maps about Route 66 but this app was a lifesaver. It is expensive but I must say that it saved us so much time. I had my Bluetooth earpiece in and having turn by turn directions was perfect. For three weeks, we used this app to keep us heading in the right direction. Route 66 signs were not always present but the app kept us heading in the right direction. It wasn’t perfect and at times, we had a few detours or a sight wasn’t on the app but overall it’s Awesome and so worth it..Version: 1.26
✓ Incredibly helpfulWe just finished 3 days of Route 66 through Illinois, Missouri and Kansas. This app was incredibly helpful for us to make sure we were still on the route as well as giving us information on the go as to what we were seeing or things we might want to stop for. I had the free app for planning and the day before we left paid for the navigation plus downloaded the maps into my phone before we left. So glad I did! As it’s been said by others. Some sections are not well marked and this helped us get back onto the route. Only suggestion I might have is areas where the route splits from older and newer sections maybe adding a second or third color to the map. Highly recommend!.Version: 1.33
✓ Yay! Turn by turn!Finally a way to easily navigate Route 66 if you are traveling alone. As much as I love the guides and books, they are not so easy to use when I’m traveling alone. With this I easily find the iconic 66 attractions without stopping and starting over and over to read. Yes, it has a price for use of the whole app, but considering the cost of a big trip like Route 66, it’s not a lot to pay to make sure you stay on 66. Contrary to what I read on another review, you cannot just use Google maps to navigate 66....since 66 is decommissioned, Google Maps keeps throwing you out on the interstate to get you to the next town. If you really want to travel 66 you need a good 66 guide like this one or one of the guidebooks..Version: 1.19

✓ Route 66 navigationIf you are planning a trip to the US to do Route 66 don’t hesitate just download this app. It will save you a massive amount of hassle. We have just returned from our road trip and the first 2 days were hell trying to follow the signs for Route 66. The signs would be well posted at first and then disappear leaving us wonder if we were still on the Route or had we made a wrong turn. This app that was recommended by one of the attractions we visited was an absolute life saver. It took all the stress out the rest of the journey and I am positive that we would have missed many of the attractions had we been trying to follow a map. Highly recommend. There are a few small glitches that I am sure will be ironed out with time but all in all it’s a must if you are driving Route 66..Version: 1.0.8
✓ Worth the money!We just did the entire Route 66 trip, from Chicago to LA. This app was the only resource I needed for navigation. Granted, there are some weird bugs, but it is a lifesaver. Only complaints are that the time estimates given by the app are way off (app times are approx 1.5x what it actually took) and sometimes it will tell you to double-back to drive on a section that you “missed”. Aside from that, completely worth the money. Also, all of the points-of-interest are great! I did a significant amount of research and this app pointed out stops that we were not aware of. ✓ By far the best Route 66 navigation app!I have traveled the route over a dozen times. I have a business on the Route and live on the Route. I have tried several apps, and while each has pieces that I like, this app is the most complete. This is the ONLY app I have found that keeps you ON the Route! ✓ Ole Blue's Adventures by MarkI used it successfully in my journey late last year. Sure it has flaws and needs improvement but that's what updates accomplish. Which two weeks ago using it again in Missouri when I attended the meeting it was much improved. It's am app that requires the user to learn how to use it to it's maximum potential. I used it in conjunction with Google Earth, atlas, books, guides and various YouTube videos. I'd recommend it highly especially for a solo journey to help navigating the questionable areas in the large cities. I feel the 40$ investment was easily covered with time not being wasted. I just enjoyed the red dots of interest and the ability to download the maps for offline use..Version: 1.19
✓ Great AppDoes exactly what it says with little error. Faced a bit of a navigational error by the border between Texas and New Mexico, but other than that no issues whatsoever. I think the one week license is a bit unreasonable as it’s known a trip like this can take at least 2 weeks. I reluctantly renewed my license again for the remainder of the trip, but I knew odds are I would have to in the next week regardless. ✓ Great app for motorcycleMy husband and I rode all of Rt 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica a few weeks ago. It would have been impossible to navigate Rt 66 on a motorcycle without this app. It gave great directions and I could see the map on my phone mounted on my motorcycle and it gave an icon for attractions. I could tap on the icon to get a picture and description of the upcoming attraction. If I didn’t tap on the icon, the app gives you the description before you reach the attraction. I would use this app if I was in a vehicle as well. Just made it easy to follow the route and know where to stop and look at the sights..Version: 1.30
✓ Great appWe are driving the route and I could not imagine doing it without the app. It is so easy to relax and follow the route with this app. One annoying thing is you can’t easily look down the route to click a poi as it pulls you back to your current location. ✓ InvaluableJust completed r66 using this app and it was invaluable! There were a few bugs and it did miss off a few landmarks, but I think that is inevitable when covering over 2400 miles. Overall the app was brilliant and made our journey down the mother road significantly easier! We downloaded the maps in advance, but you will need data to make this work. An improvement would be to allow users to scroll along the route to see what is coming up, rather than always snapping back to the user’s icon.Version: 1.26
✓ Solo R66 trip on Harley Soft TailCouldn’t have imagined doing the trip without this App. I bought all the recommended books, which were a nice read for more knowledge of the route and its history, but I’d have never managed to cover as much of the original track if I just went by them. It also highlights all the spots of interest which could easily be missed. And for me on a solo trip, importantly, it integrates with Spotify perfectly for my classic tunes as I’m riding. It did take me a few wrong turns, but these were easily corrected and considering it navigated me across the country with little to no stress (and lots of fun) I’d recommend it 100% to anyone doing the Route without a guide. Worth noting that if you take the ‘not recommended’ route from the two options it provides, it can be very tough riding over crazy roads and dirt tracks (as I found out when I fancied a challenge) my advice for what it’s worth - follow their recommended route and you’ll have a blast! ✓ Very Valuable ToolI don’t normally write reviews but I felt I should since I ended up paying the $40 for 1 year subscription. I really only needed 2 weeks work but the cost is the same. Pros - For the most part, the navigation was very accurate and we were able to stay on the Route from Chicago to Santa Monica. The signage was not always the best and this app was a lifesaver. - Points of Interest, although not 100% accurate were very helpful. Cons - Does not integrate with Apple CarPlay like Apple Maps or Google Maps - I think there could be more points of interest that are open. ✓ Indispensable app for driving Route 66My gf and I used this app for our 16-day Route 66 adventure from downtown Chicago to the Santa Monica Pier (October 2019). It was an indispensable resource. It made navigation easy, and was a great help to the enjoyment we got out of the trip. ✓ Great Help - Highly Recommended!Since there were not many reviews we were hesitant to purchase this app for $40.00. After our first day attempting to navigate Route 66, we decided to make the purchase and give this app a chance. Our only regret is that we waited one day, this app was extremely useful and made our trip much more pleasurable. Most of the states have some signage, but the signs are not linked together and they just drop off at random points and/or they just don’t exist. This app allowed us to not miss any sections of the remaining portions of Route 66 and have a stress free trip. Suggest adding side trips to the app so one can deviate into interesting downtowns, etc., without the app trying to “pull” you back to the route.
