Key Missing FeatureWhen you are scrolling through trying to find a specific clip, you can only see the time. No date which makes it hard to search. You cannot see the date until you click on a clip. Poor playbackMaybe they need to do a update or software upgrade I’m not sure. But my video quality has gotten pretty bad. It either isn’t recording anything or it freezes in the middle of recording or the clip has nothing. Sometimes it records and the video won’t start at the beginning. As well as it playing extremely fast and I can’t see anything. If these are being used for security reasons these issues are a concern. Please update the app or something. I have sent many feedback concerns with my videos and nothing has Ben changed or responded to..Version: 1.2.360

Great idea, terrible executionThe app has a few great things, such as easily view and download motion-detected video, but the entire audio/microphone feature is completely broken. DO NOT rely on this cameras speaker to speak to people or hear what they say the majority of the time. 70% of the time the cameras microphone doesn’t work and rarely half of the time the speaker will audibly relay what you’re saying in the app. An update is badly needed. But as far as everything else is considered, the app has a great live view function and the app’s organization of controls, settings, and views is top-notch. My favorite ability is to save videos so easily. I would love to see a feature to change the amount of time to start and stop recording before and after motion is detected, just so I can see what’s going on a little earlier in advanced and a little later. But again, the two-way audio feature is completely broken in-app..Version: 1.2.237

The camera is inconsistentAt first this camera was excellent. Lately it seems to consistently have trouble connecting. We use it for our kids room, but I can never see a live view because it just buffers while trying to connect, then eventually closes down. It’s very frustrating. So at this point I can only watch in playback mode but rarely in live mode. I have an iPhone XR so not sure if it’s an issue with iPhone or not. My husband doesn’t seem to have this issue on his galaxy phone..Version: 1.2.336

App okay, battery life terribleInstalled app and it works as expected with both live mode and viewing past clips. Also would like the feature to invert the camera so it could be mounted on ceiling. However, battery life on my 6S Plus has plummeted since installing the app. When viewing the Battery tab in Settings, the Cloud Cam app has taken up 38% of my battery with only 6 minutes of background activity and no foreground activity. Motion notification switch locationCan you guys move the motion notification button to the first level menu please , it’s so inconvenient to turn it on and off, one of the past versions had this design, don’t know why you changed this. The app doesn’t work with dual sim activated iPhone XSI cannot stream live feed on my iPhone XS with dual sim activated. Initially, I thought it was my poor cellular data but that was not the case. I can only stream if I am connected to WiFi or turn off one of cellphone service. The app seems to be on beta version and never been updated..Version: 1.2.360

Great camera but the app needs workI love this camera and have no complaints. The app is decent but could really use some updates. 1. I would love it if there was a way to temporarily mute the notifications. I love having the notifications but when I know my kids are in the room just playing I don’t need my watch and phone to buzz with every movement. I know I can just turn off the notifications at that point but Then I never remember to turn them on. An easy to access option to mute for 15 mins, 1 hour or 12 hours would be amazing! 2. When being used for a baby monitor I would like to have the sound (but not always the screen) on all night. Please consider these updates to the app. Thank you!!!.Version: 1.2.169

Beware will use cell data instead of WiFiThis used to work fine but in the last update I noticed that my Verizon data was being burned really quickly. After a couple of weeks of troubleshooting I realized the Cloud Cam app was using cell data even when connected to the WiFi. I had to turn off cellular access to this app so it would force a WiFi connection. One star until this is resolved..Version: 1.2.360

Nice Alternative to Nest Cam, but App Needs a Few ImprovementsAmazon’s off to a good start with their camera - quality is good, it’s easy to setup, and it looks nice. However, the app needs a few improvements... 1) Need to be able to turn off the LED light when viewing/recording. Privacy is key! 2) The app needs to override the auto-lock feature in iOS. Nest does this by default and it is great! We use a Nest Cam as a baby monitor. I open the app, and my iOS device stays on until I turn it off. 3) Need an iPad version. The iPhone version on an iPad is “meh” and quality is subpar. Plus, when viewing on an iPad you cannot see the entire wide-angle frame..Version: 1.1.426

Check notifications on latest downloadWell, if like me you’ve recently downloaded the latest version or update, I suggest you check if you’re receiving notifications as I’ve only now discovered the notifications weren’t working with me and that’s simply unacceptable as it just so happens I was on vacation when the update came out. Pretty sour feeling... I’ve since deleted the app and uploaded a second time and it seems to be working, I think, for now... pretty sour feeling indeed..Version: 1.2.196

Doesn’t support multiple device streamingMy wife and I use this to keep an eye on our baby when he’s playing in his room or as a night cam when he’s sleeping at night. It used to work great, supporting streaming on her phone, my phone, and our iPad - all at the same time. The latest update must have killed this functionality since the app no longer supports streaming to multiple devices. That kills a lot of the value we derived from using the app. Until that’s fixed, I’m keeping this at 1-star..Version: 1.2.277

Your phone will go to sleep during extended bufferingI use my camera and app to watch my children sleeping at night. It is VITAL that the app remain open and functioning while I sleep, so that I might hear any crying. I’ve been using this product for the last month and unfortunately, on several occasions I wake in the morning to discover that my phone is asleep and the camera feed is off. Once, I was horrified to discover that my child had been crying for quite some time!!! After close observation, I’ve discovered that occasionally the feed will take too long to buffer (maybe due to my internet slowing down), and my phone goes to sleep during this buffering. Wake lock seems to be disabled during buffering. Please update your app ASAP to fix this problem. My other baby camera apps did not have this problem..Version: 1.2.360

Used to be great...The setup was super easy, and for a few months it worked great. But now it takes forever to load the live view, and I constantly get an error message that connection is taking too long. I use it as my baby monitor, and if I’m in a room without the Echo device with a screen, I can’t get the app to load a live view. We’ve already tried every troubleshooting available for the camera, and it still doesn’t work. I also have an Echo device on my nightstand to use as my overnight monitor, but I’ll wake up to find out that it just shut down and stopped the feed. Bad cloud servesThe cam is good, good quality. The clip review, however, is really really bad: 1) it loads really slowly - takes about 1min to load a 5min video; ps my WiFi is super fast; 2) there is no date selection function, so if you want to review a clip 2 weeks ago, you’ll have to scroll through all the clips; and 3) at least 2 out of 5 of my camera won’t load any clip longer than 5 days ago - although my plan is for 14 days. Doesn’t work well with iPhone XR and dual SIMApp/device works well, but I’ve had issues since getting an iPhone with ESIM. The application won’t stream live video on cellular with both SIMs enabled, and it has been a struggle getting in contact with someone from support. It works when I disable either cellular plan in iOS, but it doesn’t work when both are enabled. I’m not having issues with any other applications, so I’m confident that it is an issue with the Cloud Cam app. I’ve tried reinstalling the app as well..Version: 1.2.360

Horrible interface, poor video qualityI live on a busy street and my cameras are facing out my front window and due to the high volume of traffic walking/driving by I have videos every minute. To search through them takes minutes of scrolling, waiting for new videos to load up in the queue, and more scrolling. You need to be able to search by time frame. Also the camera may be HD, but the actual video quality is often not due to it being wireless- I’d say 30% of the videos are crystal clear, the other 70% are fuzzy..Version: 1.2.169

Very clear video, audio cuts outVideo is great and very clear, app is easy to use, the audio dies cut out sometimes when I’m looking at the video live which is very annoying. Extremely frustratingMultiple issues with this cam. On an IPhone 7 Plus and 6S Plus you cant hear background noise. If a baby is in their crib and a sound machine is going, you can’t hear the sound machine. If the baby moves or makes a noise, that is loud and clear, but it’s odd that it cancels out the other sounds. It is NOT optimized nor ready for the IPhone XS MAX. You have a 3/4 gap from the edge of the video on 3 sides of the devices screen. If you try to zoom in at all, the app crashes YOUR PHONE, not just the app, your Phone. Playback video on the Max has a multicolored bar across the top of the screen and honestly looks bad. Currently looking at just buying another Lollipop can to be honest. Double the price, but never an issue on any device and it’s ready for the Max..Version: 1.2.277

IrritatedI have unplugged it , reset it , talked nicely to it ..... we use it as a baby monitor, but it is useless when the app won’t sync. There is constantly an issue with the camera syncing to my app, my show , and my spot. If the app steam is working and I hit the two way talk button , the stream instantly freezes and takes around 5 minutes to re-sync . Not sure if it’s the camera or if it’s just a problem in general, but intermittent usability is not ideal for our needs..Version: 1.2.113

Just okThe camera works pretty good but every time I try and use the two way communication my voice is not heard on the camera. I can hear sounds but they can’t hear me talking from my phone. Usually I have to close the app and open again and it’ll work for a short time. Or I have to hit the button to turn the camera off then back on and it’ll work again. Works well, but battery usage ruins itFirst, the good. The camera works quite well, and within the constraints of what the hardware can do, the app does a good job letting me see it and play back recordings. Now the bad - this app will eat your battery to the point that it is unusable. I used to end my day and still have 70% battery left. As soon as I installed this, I find I have to charge 4-5 times a day. Its not from having it in the foreground (I never look at it) and I set notification to only go off once per day. But that's just how often the app notifies me. In the background, it's still constantly talking to the server and consuming massive amounts of power. it's always the leading consumer of power in my device by a very wide margine. I have to uninstall it to make my phone usable, but uninstalling it makes my camera setup useless. Please fix this!.Version: 1.2.277

Notifications don't workThe options to choose different time intervals to receive messages does not work. For example, I have tried to only receive notifications every 10 min, 30 min, and 1 hour, however, I get notifications for EVERY SINGLE MOTION DETECTION! My phone is blowing up all morning and evening with hundreds of notifications. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled. I've removed the cameras and added them again. I even bought an extra camera thinking it was a problem with the hardware but nope. Notifications are relentless and constant. This is not great because at some point I'll miss important ones one of these days. I pay for the annual subscription also. I miss my Nest Cam. Events not recording on appI have two cameras with the basic plan. Writing this review since my issue seems to be an app issue. One cam I get notifications find and app shows events. The other one just recently started not giving me anything on the app. I thought it was a camera issue , reset everything. Well when I login through the site, it has all the recorded events for that camera but still nothing on app. So this app Is pointless and more work to go to site and no notifications for the camera via app. Hope they look into this bc this is a new issue..Version: 1.2.360

Notifications no longer alert on iPhoneWorked great for a while. 2 days ago basic motion alerts stopped alerting me. This issue recently started happening to multiple people in my family. Have checked app settings and I phone settings to allow notification alerts to be sent to the phone. This is not a user error, some bug made the notifications stop working. Camera good. App has bugsThe camera is good and quite handy. Unfortunately, the app has issues when zooming in on live feed it quits or shuts down the phone all together. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. Sometimes the feed gets quite pixelated but clears up after a few moments, even when it is on the same WiFi. Other than that, good app..Version: 1.2.113

Using cellular data when connected to WiFiThis app used to work fine for monitoring our cameras at work, until this past month I went way over my data limit on my phone. After my service was throttled and I couldn’t get the live feed to load, even when connected to WiFi, i did some extensive testing and figured out that this app was using cellular data even when I’m connected to WiFi. I had to do a work around and turn cellular data completely off to just this app, and now it uses the wifi, but that’ll mean when I’m not connected to a network and need to check the cameras I need to go in and turn the data off and on again. Please fix this issue! It’s really annoying to have my data throttled on my phone just because of this app!.Version: 1.2.320

Two-way communication not functional on iOSI really like the camera and I’m happy to have it. The app works pretty well, with one major downfall. The two-way communication does not work on iOS. I have tried on both the iPhone and the iPad and neither device transmits sound to the camera. There is a microphone on the screen to indicate the functionality, but “hold to talk” does not transmit sound. Double-checked settings on the iPhone and iPad, and the app has access to the microphone. It just doesn’t work. The app on Echo Spot works great for this functionality! Video not working anymoreLive feed not working after I switched to Verizon! Verizon throttles video at 720p and this causes your 1080p feed to never load. This happens even on WiFi because for some reason your app still chooses to use cellular data instead of the WiFi data. To prove this if you go to setting and cellular there will be a list of apps. Turn off the cellular data for cloud cam and make sure WiFi is on and the video feed will work fine after this on WiFi. The issue is compatibility with Verizon throttling. I mean the bigger issue of course is the douche bags at Verizon for throttling video when we are paying so much for their service but that’s another argument..Version: 1.2.360

Good to a level still has bugsI have had it for a year and few months now and never had a big issue with the camera however starting off with the new year my camera will now record 4hrs of video even tho the motion detection is on, but it nothing will be moving just records the same area..... idk if it’s from the new update cause also when I check thru the video it tells me video unavailable on the screen in gray... itself still work fine but once i a week or ever 2weeks it will acted out with the recording issue.Version: 1.2.320

Terrible appFair warning, if you plan to use this for something important go somewhere else. Apparently there’s an issue with the cloud cam server and I can’t see my cameras. I called tech support and their response is that they’re aware, it’s pending to be fixed, no timeline what so ever, sorry. Hope the app gets better!So far the app and camera are Good. Impressed with the mic range and video quality in light. Night vision could probably be a little better. 2 things I’m not thrilled about is 1: you can only view one camera at a time, there is no function to have split screen with multiple cameras or even a rolling function where it rotated through all the camera. And 2: I got the cameras for baby monitors and wanted 2 in each room, I probably should have done more research but picked up the 4th camera and when I went to hook it up, I quickly found out I now had to have a monthly bill to be able to have 4 cameras..Version: 1.2.196

Good But Not Great...User interface is good and very intuitive, however they need an option for multiple users with the ability to grant them either user or admin privileges. If I grant access to another user by logging in on their device they have the same privileges as I do which is not ideal. However quality of video and sound are superb as well as the Home/Away Feature. For the cost of these cams and monthly fees to allow more cloud storage they need to create a section for multiple users..Version: 1.1.575

Needs a louder/ different alert sent to phone when motion is detected!Good video and audio. Quality night vision and fast/responsive alert of motion sent to iphone. The reason I bought the camera is to detect motion if someone opens the front door or walks near the steps after I go to sleep. The alert that is sent should be louder and be able to be changed so it will wake you up when motion is detected. If I’m in a deep sleep a quick alert sound similar to receiving an email does not wake me up.. luckily it was only a family member staying up later than usual tripping the camera the times I haven’t woken up or I’d possibly be robbed or in trouble.. *please add different alert sounds that would be effective in waking me up mid sleep, like an alarm where you have to physically turn it off or it will continue to alert you. If this feature is not added the camera will only serve the purpose of recording intruders when I’m not home, but not protecting me from a possible burglary when asleep...Version: 1.2.196

Great StartI have switched from Nest to Cloud Cam, as it appears many have, due to the competitive pricing. Camera is good. No issues there. My concern is with the app itself. Sure there are some features the Nest app has that Amazon’s doesn’t, but I’m sure some will follow soon. My biggest concern is that the live feed only lasts for 15-20 minutes and will then disconnect. Then you have to touch the screen and it will reconnect. Normally, it’s probably not an issue. However, we use ours as a baby monitor and would like to have it running all night while we sleep but becomes useless after 15-20 minutes. I hope this is fixed soon because the lack of some features is worth the price difference of Nest..Version: 1.1.575
