✓ Scam- false advertising and bad customer serviceThe app itself is not overly helpful, it’s ok for a one-time trial use, but I would never pay to use it monthly or continue using it, definitely not worth it. It’s not worth the effort and I do find sometimes that the photos they pre-select for me to be deleted are photos I would prefer to keep. It still takes a great deal of time to double check through the photos being deleted. I am very careful with app subscriptions and always read the fine print but somehow this one got me still and snuck in the yearly charge before I realized I have also been charged for multiple subscriptions all on my same one account. I have now been charged upwards of $50 in one month for reasons I have not yet figured out, but mainly because they have added on multiple subscriptions. I tried to contact customer service and they do nothing but tell me to contact Apple to sort out the mess. They are very unwilling to help. Would not recommend ..Version: 1.3.8

✓ Not ideal for large photo albumsApparently unheard of, but I have just over 100k photos and I’d love to minimise and get rid of stuff I don’t need but the app just can’t cope with the capacity, I know there’s other people with large albums. ✓ Won’t work for meI spent $55 on this app. It has never worked. I have had countless correspondence with various people who, although polite, are not particularly helpful, and it’s just going in a constant circle, where I have to reexplain and go through everything again with every new person I deal with. ✓ Save your $!! Horrible customer supportI subscribed to this app (monthly charge) and have been (trying) to use it for several months and have had some issues with it. Lots of small glitches but still workable, if there was an issue I could usually find a workaround . I then ran into an issue that I couldn’t work around and needed help from support. I emailed and was told I would get a response within 48 hours. Didn’t happen. I emailed 2 more times over the course of the next two weeks asking for some kind of response so I know my issue has been seen and they are working on it. Nothing. After 2+ weeks I get an email with an apology and asking if I’m still having the same issue. Yes, yes I am. (If you had bothered to check my account before replying you would have known that). So they toss the ball back in my court and say I have 48 hours to respond before they “close the ticket”. Then, they close the ticket 24 hours later. I don’t check my email for a day (in remote area, no cell service) and I have an email response that they could have figured out themselves if they did 10 seconds of research, and an email closing the ticket that I inquired about multiple times for 2+ weeks. If you have your iPad clipped into a keyboard case.. good luck with that. - No contact sheet display (i.e a grid display) so you have to swipe back and forth between multiple photos to decide which to keep. If you're deciding between the first and last photo out of 6 this is a pain! Not sure how that's better than the built in Photos app. - No metadata (can't see photo size, filename, file type, camera, location, etc) to help decide which one to keep. BUT in 95% cases the app automatically selects the wrong photo (for example, in HDR pairs, the non-HDR version is always selected as the best result for some reason). So 1. ✓ Great idea. Terrible execution.I have about 1.5k photos and I left the app running over night and it still didn’t register all of them. It’s not just painfully slow, it’s murderously slow! When I gave up on waiting for it to “scan” all my photos I thought if I start interacting and deleting some more will come up. Photo previews take forever to load any other action takes even longer because of that. I can’t find any more details or instructions in the app interface and I’m not going to bother googling for solutions because it’s ridiculous to use a browser to solve an app problem - apps are supposed to be out shortcuts! Is this a trick of the free trial so that we can’t clean everything up before canceling? So if I let it roll over to pay it would all of the sudden work better? ✓ Nothing within the app is freeI downloaded this app for 3 specific reasons: 1. For the editing tools, like the option to blur the backgrounds of my photos. 2. For the “clean up albums & clear up space” feature. This automatic grouping feature is capable of automatically sorting through your albums and selecting things like blurry, low quality images that you can delete to clear up space. 3. Because it was SUPPOSED to be free. That’s why it gets 1 star — it was listed as a free app yet there wasn’t any of the features available unless you sign up for a monthly MINIMUM fee of $4.99. This means you download this app thinking some of these cool tools are supposed to be free yet none are. It only starts you on a “free trial” that will charge you for the app “renewal” automatically unless you catch it & cancel it. So basically useless as a “free app.” The fact that this app was intentionally misleading is what makes me lose respect & made me totally u willing to pay for the services within the app. I don’t like feeling scammed. I’m going 2 download a truly “free” app with similar features now. I also found snap seed, which I already found more useful (although it’s not got these exact features) but I’ll be hunting a non-misleading app to assist in clearing up photo space… or I’ll just manually go through & delete the duplicates, and accidental snaps that clutter my phone. ✓ Good app but money money money !So the app works fine but they charge you for the app, then when you open it they charge you a subscription to use it ! ✓ SLOW with Live Photos. Annoying.I downloaded this app (with a free 3 day trial) and a different app called Remove Master (free but has some ads) because Lucie Fink mentioned them both in a recent video about decluttering our digital spaces. I like the concept of this app, but I really REALLY strongly dislike how long it was taking to load my pictures. Every attempt to use it makes me wanna pull out my hair in frustration at the slowness. I noticed it mentioned the photos were “live” and I waited for one to load and checked and yup, they’re loading live which really slows this process down. Unlike Remove Master where I cleared out two months worth of unwanted pictures in literally just a couple of minutes (because they don’t load live there). I double checked to see if I could find a setting to make the photo not load live but I don’t see anything for that, and if it’s there it’s not intuitive. My recommendation is the app make the picture load on default NOT live and allow the option to view live. But pay for this slowness? No way. Canceling immediately..Version: 1.3.36
✓ Duplicates are not automatically been tagged for deletionWhen I first downloaded this app it automatically tagged duplicate photos for deletion. And allowed you to just select “delete all duplicate” tagged/checked photos to be deleted. When I chose that button it took me to the subscribe screen which I singed up for a one year subscription. but when I went back after subscribing for a year the app no longer automatically checked duplicate photos. The only way to delete them was to look at each and every set of duplicate photos and manually check the box for the ones you wanted to delete. One set at a time! Which is extremely time consuming and something I wish to remain automated. They also say you can cancel your subscription anytime… So I canceled. However canceling just means they won’t renew your subscription at the end of its time. So I won’t get my $12 back but will have access to a useless app for a year..Version: 1.3.91

✓ Could be good - Doesn’t workI’ve had this app for about a year now. Most of the time it simply does not work. I pay £2.49 every month for the privilege of using it. 60% of the time, when I try to delete the duplicate photographs, it tells me that I do not have a premium account and therefore cannot do so. Same day I have asked technical support and they sent an automatic reply saying that someone will contact me which never happened. I have requested my money back 3 times and never could get hold on the team. they just stole £14 from me and I have no mean of getting it back. Unfortunately very hit & miss at the moment.I’ve used many of their Mac apps, so thought I’d give this one a try, as it tries to remedy a problem faced by most of us - we shoot a lot of similar photos which we then struggle to weed out. The user interface is well designed, and the apps runs very fast without any crashes. Unfortunately, the automated “Best result” functionality is not at all smart. It frequently groups photos of completely different subjects together, just because they were shot at the same time. Actually, photos that were NOT shot at the same time do not appear to get grouped, even if they show virtually identical subjects. It also does not seem to care whether photos are blurry. As a result, I cannot trust the app to automatically go through my photos and identify the best ones - I still have to do this manually. As I can do the same in the photos app, minus the nice user interface, I think this app is overpriced. Once the algorithms actually work and save me time sorting through my photos, I will happily pay the asking price, but for now I have deleted the app..Version: 1.1.8

The app claims about 14k similar images have been found, and when the button to clean is pressed a spinner is shown for five minutes until the app finally crashes without deleting anything. The app does just what it says on the label and that’s it . . . It’s all over in a few minutes and then the app is finished! It does not really have an ongoing use as it has no management skills at all. It can’t even sent a photo to a library let alone create one. Of course it never said it did, fair does. I did not find the sorts of blurred very good it missed so many and whilst it found sequential shots in bursts it was not able to pick out similar shots at all. ✓ Be carefulThis app just opens your photos and lets you keep or delete stuff. All this can be done more easily if you just delete stuff yourself. I found it quite confusing because you open a folder and it displays the media nicely and you can delete or keep easily. However, you open a different folder and it comes up with all this enhance photos nonsense. Open a different folder again and it comes up with a Tinder type method where you swipe up to keep and down to delete. You can easily empty the trash so most people would just hit that button and be done with it. Luckily for me I looked in the trash folder only to find sentimental photos of my children that I certainly did not want to delete. The app is basically rubbish. Try the free trial but before you hit the empty trash button I cannot stress enough, CHECK WHAT IS THERE BEFORE EMPTYING, once done cancel subscription. I guess this is good for people that have a relatively small/ new photo library or a well kept library and looking to trim a few photos here and there. What I found disappointing is that it fails to eliminate excessive exact duplicates in an automated way. My photo library spans 10 years and has lived through manual syncing and mobile me’s notoriously bad photo stream functions As a result, I have MILLIONs of duplicates- far too many to go through and delete one-by-one. ✓ Temporary One StarSo far the only good thing I have to say is I love the layout. However, I haven’t even been able to use the apps functions. I assume this is because I have 80,000 photos but this app will not load or function in any capacity. I saw someone mention that it takes them forever to load every time they start up the app but I haven’t even been able to get it to load once. I made the mistake of paying thinking that it wasn’t loading due to features being locked(yes, I know that doesn’t make much sense but I was tired and just wanted to sort photos and delete duplicates) so I’m a little upset that I payed for something that I can’t use. Hopefully the dev team responds to this and fixes the loading issue at some point in the future. My main issue is that it doesn't automatically update the photo library even though it has the 'photo radar' which just doesn't do anything, it's always on 0. All the folders are on 0, and I have to actively go into the folder and wait for it to update, which it takes a long time to do so!! And even then, if I exit the app, it resets itself with everything back at 0... So it just doesn't work. When it does, it's great, but I can't say it saves me any time with all the waiting. ✓ Almost coolI was really excited to find this app! I have several of MacPaw’s apps, and I was needing something like this. But there is one glaring problem (kind of two). It doesn’t allow for you to either adjust how close you want it to match similar items, or doesn’t have an “exact” and “similar” difference. Sure it would be nice to remove similar photos, but what about just duplicates. I have no way to adjust that. I found one app eventually that I use now. It has a section for exact duplicate photos, then one for similar, and you can set how similar you want them to be before they show up on the list. I also felt like the “best photo” algorithm didn’t work too well. I saw too many poor photos being picked as the one to keep. It would try to get rid of the HDR photos, ones where people are actually looking at the camera (and try to keep the one where they aren’t) and even tried to say the same background, but different people were similar photos, and try to delete one of them. ✓ Not Ready For Prime TimeI am generally a big fan of the Gemini software for helping find duplicate files, and I have it on both my iMac and MacBook. However, the app is not ready for prime time. Because photos and screenshots can be slightly different or edited versions of themselves, I didn’t trust the program to correctly identify doubles/multiples. And I am glad I didn’t! While it picked duplicates correctly enough, “Similars” is a disaster, and weren’t even close. Don’t trust your images to wholesale deletion. I got tired of reviewing and unmarking photos for deletion. It would almost be better to keep them. Screenshots with text are even worse. This app has merit, and will likely be improved over time. ✓ Almost useless1) The app tries to delete what seem to be high-res originals and retain low-res copies. 2) There‘s no indication of RAW-JPG pairs, neither is it clear if it‘s going to delete RAW or JPG images while destroying the pair associations. 3) There is no way to inspect EXIF data, or file names, as Photos has somehow taken a bunch of files and duplicated them with some meaningless UUID as „name“, while the originals have the original file name as name. ✓ Deleted all copies of my photos!At first this seemed like a great idea. Quickly finds duplicate photos and displays them well. Be careful though, it deleted lots of my photos I wanted to keep!! I deleted lots of photos, keeping just one of most of them. Then, by chance I went back to look at a specific photo and couldn’t find it. I know what it was as it was a photo of the colosseum in Rome. Searched by date also and it was nowhere to be found. Luckily, it was still in the ‘Recently deleted’ folder. I recovered it and many others as well which would have been lost. However many are lost forever as the 30 day limit on them had expired. I think it has to do with personal folders separate to the main ‘camera roll’ and the app looking at these along with camera roll. When deleted from one they are deleted from both! When I pressed “Delete 31 Similar” I received the Photos prompt asking me to confirm deletion of 261 photos. Each time I reattempted I got the same 261 even though only 31 were selected. I figured there was no way around the bug until it was fixed, and 261 seemed like a low enough number that I can check my recently deleted and recover what I wanted to keep so I just went on and deleted. When I checked my recently deleted, those 261 photos included my original selected 31, but also included 230 other memories that I might have lost forever if I wasn’t paying attention to the numbers (which I don’t always do since I like to trust the app is working). I didn't want that time to have gone to waste, so I paid it. "It's ok, as long as it works, it'll be worth it!" ✓ No supportThere are some small issues with the app which are making it unusable - flashing and blurring in certain folders as well as being unable to sort small amounts of the screenshots folder at a time because if you un-select and then selectively choose which ones to delete, it then re-selects thousands of photos that you’ve not reviewed. I reached out to support through the app over a week ago asking if there was anything I could do differently or settings I could change to make the app useable, and have followed up since then twice via email and once via messenger, and no one has bothered to respond. I agonised over spending so much on an app, but with such a huge photo library to sort out I eventually decided to spend the $60, which was no small amount for me. ✓ Good concept but missing some functionalityThe idea of this app is great. However, I wish there was a way to delete photos individually as you go through them. Your only option is to go through ALL of one category (screenshots, for example), select which ones you can want to keep/delete, and delete them in bulk at the end. I have over 1,000 screenshots I’m trying to sort out, so I have to set aside a lot of time to select/deselect all 1,000 photos and then hit the “delete” button (and hope I didn’t screw it up). What frustrates me though is that the “other” photo sorter which allows you to swipe up or down (excellent!) doesn’t allow you to see the next or previous photo. ✓ Great at the start - support is terribleI used the free trial and it was great to get my photos down and my camera roll looked great with the key highlights of moments. Then I paid the yearly fee and then the app started crashing when ever I accessed the videos tab. I contacted the support email and they advised to delete and download the app again (reflicking thousands of photos was not fun). I advised them it didn’t fix the issue and then radio silence. They have not bothered replying to any of my emails and clearly didn’t read my first email given the half cocked response I got.
